I like how close it is to both UC Berkeley and downtown. There were some stains on the table and hair in bathroom.

Our room had all the basic amenities. The WIFI signal was weak and there were flies zooming around in the room when we arrived.

Room was in terrible shape. Smelled bad, lamps by bed and outlets did not work, lock was broken on the door. Shelves were semi broken. Furniture stained. It was BAD

Had an unflushed toilet. Room phone was not working.

Whoever cleaned the room didn't do a good job. Counters had smears on them. There was only 1 cup with the coffee maker, and no creamer. Shampoo containers were "single use" size but were only 1/3 full (i.e., used!). Worst of all, sheets were uniformly damp/wet; I thought there might have been a leak, dripping on the bed, but realized that the sheets were only partially dry when put on the bed. I've stayed here before this, but won't again.

The microwave was broken… had to ask for hangers, the walk hung hair dryer didn’t work ( found the replacement hairdryer in a sack the last morning of our visit), tried to flush toilet on arrival and found toilet water turned off ( realized it was because the toilet occasionally kept running)… See above

Everything was very close and in walking distance to most things we wanted to go to. The only problem was we had terrible wireless service just specifically at the hotel, and the WiFi was slow.

For the price and convenience, it was very nice. My son lives just 8 minutes away, walking time. My room was clean, the bedding and bed were comfortable. My son lives just 8 minutes away, walking time. The internet connection could have been better, but it worked. It was walking distance to the grocery store and other nice places to eat. I will stay again when I come to visit.

The place was clean and okay overall but they miss on the details... I had a water leak under the sink they said they would send someone the next morning, no one came. The shower curtain was inside out, the mini fridge had so much ice build up that I had a small pool of water on the floor, and their free in-room water bottles had one that was open and half empty.

Room was recently renovated, kind of a mix of new and old, but some things were a bit odd, like I had to hook up and configure the satellite TV box to the TV. Overall, it was just fine and comfortable.

Cute Inn. Convenient location. Room was clean except shower tiles need a good scrubbing. Also, there was no cover, flat sheet or duvet on the bed comforters which seems unusual.

We stayed on two different nights within a week. First night there was a lot of hair in our bathroom/floor and shower. I told the front desk attendant. They said they asked housekeeping to come clean. I ended up cleaning it. Second stay there was hair on the toilet.

No nonsense place with central location. Good for sleeping - not much else.

This is a very comfortable and affordable place to stay for a visit to Berkeley. It's in a convenient location within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and shops, a Trader Joe's, and the BART. My room was clean and quiet. The lobby was generously stocked with free snacks and drinks.

The Signature Inn was in a very convenient location for my trip to Berkeley. The parking was great, the rooms were adequate, and the bed was comfortable. I liked the touch with the Le Croixs!

Property was very nice and clean and the staff was very nice! Property included parking as well so that was a huge relief! Stayed here for a concert and thought it was cool that the staff also played music from the band too. When we checked out and got in the car staff was already in the room cleaning so it's nice to see they care

Unfortunately, our hotel room was very dirty and poorly maintained. For the price we paid it was ridiculous. Ill fitted sheets, broken handles on drawers, broken shelf, broken shower handle, gross stains and splatters on wall that looked like boogers and a cockroach to top it off. Staff didn’t care at all when we brought up our concerns. Very suspicious of all the five star reviews.

The room was very clean, not large but really nicely appointed. The area was good, walked to the Greek Theatre and to restaurants. Overall for the price it was a very good hotel and convenient.

Most of the charging points and some sockets were not working, or had the tiniest charge going into them - not enough to actually charge a phone. A couple of queries prior to our stay went unanswered. There is not enough parking for one car per room. No breakfast is available though there’s a breakfast restaurant across the street. The bed was comfy and the linens clean. Price was the main driver for us and it is inexpensive for Berkeley.

Paid $150 to stay one night on a hot day in room 207. Left the AC running, but it was weak and the small room was still warm when I returned after dinner. As the night cool down, the AC kicked in stronger. There were 2 fist-sized stains on the blanket so that didn’t feel too good. All the USB ports in the room were non-functioning but the attendant lent me his laptop charger for the night. Water pressure was decent, but there was a little bit of reddish mildew around the tiles. Free parking was a plus and there wasn’t any loud activity even though it was a Saturday night. It wasn’t a BAD experience, but I think I’ll pay a little more for a better hotel in the future.

Water to building was shut off from 9pm to 6am based on notice left on door. I left at 7am and water was still off so unable to shower. Staff did not offer any type of refund. I requested a partial refund with a request for a phone call later in day to confirm. Staff did not call me. I called the next day and they ultimately gave me 50% off the second night but I should not have had to request the refund.

I liked how close it was to the university

My stay was sbsolutely fine. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The AC was great! The room had a touch of musty smell, which cleared up after I ran the air for a bit. The over all feel of the room is a bit worn out, though CLEAN. So if you don't care about crisp renovated rooms, this Inn is fine. The staff was kind. The location, great! And I only needed the room to sleep.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at this inn. Great location, helpful front office people. We didn't need our room cleaned, just clean towels midway through, but had trouble getting towels from housekeeping. Probably a language barrier. We recommend this sweet little hotel and hope to come back soon.

This is motel is a real value in Berkeley. We were in for a show at the Greek Theater. It is a very short uber from motel to theater and there are a lot of dining options nearby. Room was clean & staff friendly.

my partner and I stayed here for a concert at the Greek Theatre, we loved the area as it had many dining options and places to shop as well within walking distance. my only problem was that a couple nights the parking lot was full when we’d come back in the evening so we weren’t sure if we had to park elsewhere even though we were staying at this inn. thankfully after speaking to the front desk, they let us have a spot in a restricted area on the property still. there’s more rooms than there are parking spots so maybe there should be a rule that those staying on property get one parking spot at all times to avoid this issue with future guests.

Our stay was only for a night. Hotel had everything that was needed. Nothing fancy but met all basic needs.

My sister and I stayed here for a concert at the Greek Theatre. The staff were nice and the whole place was well kept up. The only thing was the carpet did have a faint smell of urine. Maybe like a pet peed on the floor, a good carpet washing would do the trick. Other than that hotel was nice and had a great stay!

The front desk staff was very accomodating. The bed was terrific and the linens were lovely. Things are very expensive in that area and their price was better than most. I would definitely stay there again.

Room overall was nice and as described. I’d give 7/10 for parking space. Could offer more space in bathroom and by bathroom sink. Bed pillows were also very uncomfy so if you can, bring your own, but overall enjoyed the stay!

Overall, good inn, provided coffee and tea all day long. The main issues are the rooms are tiny for 2 beds, it’s difficult to walk past each other and the AC. In the room we had the AC was doing a weird noise like something is hanging off it when it was cooling. This noise was at such a frequency that it was waking us up all night long. Very unfortunate.

I appreciated having a room on the ground floor so I could bring my bicycle inside. I appreciated the working wi-fi and cable tv. The room overall was clean and the service was friendly. The a/c in my unit was tricky to manage. I was too busy to ask for another room so that was the only unfortunate part of my stay.

But room location (dark corner with alley outside window was pretty scary for an older woman travelling alone. And people upstairs ran/walked stomped around all night.

I enjoyed my stay, but was disappointed by the front desk staff keeping the door locked while I(black man) waited outside, despite there being space inside as another (white)couple completed their transaction.

The hotel had neat, small rooms but it was very close to the university and with easy access to highways.

Hotel is clean, well maintained, and reasonably close to the Berkeley campus (about a 30 minute walk). Trader Joe's is nearby and there's a good breakfast place across the street (Nations). Rooms are small and don't have space for much beyond the two beds (minimal sitting room for example). Few amenities other than parking and the basic room (no ice machine for example). But if all you want is a place to crash at the end of a day, this is a good option.

The two ladies that checked us in were great. The young man working at night and in the morning acted like he didn't want to be there. The motel is clean, but the rooms are pretty warm and stuffy unless you run the air unit in the room.

Overall it was a pretty good stay - good value, friendly staff. The room was a little small, but perfectly adequate. The only issue was something so ridiculous that I have no idea why it hasn’t been fixed. The mini fridge is essentially impossible to open. The cabinet door opens one way while the fridge door opens the other (see the picture). If the room was large this wouldn’t be a problem. But the room is small, so the cabinet door bumps into the bed meaning the fridge door can only be opened a couple of inches. It’s fixable - swap the hinges on the cabinet door.

The property was great and the management was super. Everything was just wonderful and i had the feeling that if I needed anything, they would provide it but i had everything I needed. Signature Inn is a great place to stay.

Good location on University Ave - about 15 minutes walk from either Berkeley or North Berkeley BART. The room was comfortable but teeny - there was a desk and a chair, but it was funny because everything was so close together, there would be no way to pull out the chair and sit at the desk! Also the A/C was so loud and clattering - we joked about it sounding like a propeller plane trying to take off. That said, it was totally fine. It was the cheapest option in the Berkeley area so I am glad that it was as nice as it was. It could have wound being way more sketchy and it was not at all. Owners were helpful and nice.

Room with king bed was tight. Might have been better to book the room with 2 queens or doubles.

Room was completely misrepresented in photos. Condition of the room was nearly unusable. Loose lock, loose faucet, hole in the wall of the shower with shower doors ripped off and shower curtain outside it letting water dump onto the floor. No shelving in shower. Water leaking through bathroom light in the ceiling from the room upstairs. Bathroom door didn't shut correctly. Toilet paper roll was dirty. Door had gaps, was loud at night. Beds uncomfortable and loud, linens and towels weren't very clean. All outlets were loose, some didn't work, things couldn't stay plugged in. Hair dryer plug had been disassembled with the circuit board out. Could hear guests in other rooms talking clearly through walls and ceiling.

The only problem I had was that the room I was given was right next to the laundry room where they clean all the linens, so during the day it was noisy.

The carpet is comfortable. The desk was too high to place a laptop on and work comfortably.
