The property itself was nice in a decent location. Although the first night I came back to my room and the door was open, my things had been rummaged through. The hotel front desk told me not to worry about and I’d be fine, it’s was probably the cleaning crew. Although they never cleaned my room, took out trash, made the bed, or picked up dirty towels.

The hotel is in a good location convenient to downtown Charleston and the staff was polite but the room was filthy on check in, bathroom had mildew in the shower, thick dust around the sides of the bed - especially by the nightstands - and the insides of the drawers were dirty. We requested a room cleaning showing the clerk pictures of the room and they took care of the bathroom and remade the bed but the rest of the room remained dusty and dirty. There was also trash piled up in the alcove by the ice machine. We prepaid for the room so we decided to make the best of it and not lose the money we paid. Breakfast was okay, we did not try the pool.

Check in was terrible. Slow, room wasn’t ready, and absolutely no welcoming at all. There is one ice marker for 2 buildings. Be prepared to hike if you need ice. I realize that they are trying to update things, however it it had little to none leadership. I don’t think I would return. According to other guest they won’t be either.

The hotel is old and not well maintained , there was one elevator working so it was a long wait for the guests and not to mention that the guest had to compete with staff cleaning the rooms. They were so nasty and unprofessional knowing that your guests they rushed to the elevator first even though you were waiting for the elevator. You had to pay an additional fee for parking I wasn’t prepared for

Pretty bare bones. Hallway had stacked boxes of supplies and needed vacuuming. Room door had a quarter-inch gap when closed, so anyone entering a nearby room seemed to be coming into ours. Box spring was almost comically noisy when sitting on the bed.

Property was dirty along with the rooms. No housekeeping for the entire week we were at the facility. Clean towels were provided but only when requested (5days). Repairs were needed in the room, bathroom, and the entire facility. Staff appeared to be totally disconnected from the needs of the customer. Carpeting throughout was stained and threadbare. Someone needs to take a serious look at how this facility is being managed before someone gets seriously injured.

Stained . Elevator was broken for 2 days , you have to pay for daily parking . Staff didn't know how to fix tv . Made excuses . Broken furniture in room including bureau that couldn't open . Asked for room cleaning and they didn't do it then made excuses why . Listened to neighboring room all night yapping about their drug use . Only addressed concerns when i complained to corporate . And only refunded my parking fees which are a joke to begin with . I never asked for a discount . I just asked to have issues addressed but if you are going to refund money , you have to do better than that . Would not stay for free there .

Staff were all excellent, no complaints at all. First room had toilet running all the time, I fixed that myself. Two lights needed bulbs replaced, I arranged that. The ceiling was peeling stucco, there was a general air of poor maintenance. We had problems with the key system, which we thought was fixed, after we reported it, however upon returning to the room after dinner we could not get in. This was about 7:30, the staff took about 30 minutes to gain entry then could not get the lock to work properly. We were then moved to a room in the main building. This room was just OK, everything worked but all a little scruffy, clean but all a bit old. My wife and I are 79 &80 so not the easiest start to our stay after a 8 hour drive earlier. Throughout this the staff were great and doing what they can but they can only deal with what is there. The first room should never been available. Question, does any of the corporate managers ever check the rooms for general quality. It seems to me the answer is no. Are the cleaners not instructed to report simple things like lights not working or toilets constantly running???

Being received so warmly and patiently by the front desk staff provided clear clues of how the rest of our trip would go. We enjoyed the whole stay. The facilities were clean, all amenities provided. We experienced a clean, comfortable room, all while feeling safe in a location that made getting to and from Downtown Charleston very simple. We didn't even need a car since riding on Uber or Lyft into the city was inexpensive and quick. The breakfast in the morning was highly appreciated and had us ready for long days of exploration. I would gladly stay at this place again in the future.

At check-in, Miss April was SO helpful. She went above and beyond to accommodate a 1st floor room for us. With the elevator Out-of-Order, my husband couldn’t physically take the stairs. 2. Our first room had sheets with fresh fluid stains from the previous occupants. 3. They gave us another room with clean(to the naked eye) sheets. Mold in the corners of the bath tub, blood stains on the baseboard near the trash can. Dirty carpet in the halls and room. What looked like years of dust on base boards in the room. 4. The front cover of the ice machine was disconnected from the dispenser- I took a picture of the inside and it was filthy. Looked like it hasn't been maintained in years. Lingering bad odors

I was put in the first room and there was water coming out of the ceiling over the shower. The microwave was not only broken but it had old food in it from a previous occupant. The phone to call the front desk did not work when I tried to call for assistance on the microwave. Last but not least there were mouse droppings in the bathroom, with the color of the carpet no telling if droppings were in the carpet. The carpet didn’t feel clean walking barefoot on. They moved me to a new room which was better. The toilet was constantly running. And the carpet in the common area didn’t even look vacuumed. End game they gave me 60.00 off on a 720.00 bill for 3 Days. That was simply insulting. I am not one to write reviews however this was the worst accommodation I have been in which includes several 3rd world countries I have visited. At a nightly cost of 240.00 per night this was unbelievable to be honest. Do not trust the pictures as they mis represent the product provided.

This place is a dump! To be fair, it is possible the main building in their pictures may be nice. However, we were given a room in the old run down building next to the building they have pictures of. I did see one picture of the old building but it’s so close up I didn’t realize there was a whole other side. If you want to stay in a dirty, run down hotel/motel, away from cool things to do and see, this is the place. The river is right outside but there are no tourist attractions from that point. It is by far the worse hotel I’ve stayed for as much as I paid. I made the mistake thinking close to the river would be cool and that paying what I paid it would’ve been nice. I was sadly mistaken!

I booked through hotel.com and was a little confused as what exterior meant, I thought that maybe the room had an interior and exterior door. So when I checked in and was told I was in the building next door that had an exterior door I then understood. I asked the gentleman if I could switch to the building he said no because of how I booked. He didn’t try to accommodate me at all and the hotel wasn’t booked. The room was ok, the furniture was worn, the bathtub wasn’t to clean. The night stand was dusty behind it. The phone wasn’t plugged into the wall and when I did plug it that’s when I saw how dirty it was behind there. I couldn’t dial to the front desk from the hotel phone. I just wasn’t satisfied. I stayed the week before and the other staff was nice and friendly and the room was way better!!! I was too tired to take photos but I’m sure the hotel is aware of the condition of their hotel rooms.

I think it was to State that I had already paid for this hotel stay and that I was not there and that I needed a copy of the reservation number and she refused to give me any copy of a receipt or anything stating that I did not state it there at the hotel so the manager your own duty she said her name was Bree. I knew it wasn’t because I stayed there before and they were very nice and pleasant. I don’t know why this facility acted the way they acted because I did not stay at this facility and I was just wanting to let her know that and she was like well you go back to your and gave me the wrong one and I knew it was hotel.com cause that’s who I always booked group

The room was clean but the bathroom tub needs to be recaulked. Very little hot water for a shower. We were in a separate building next to the main building. There were no ice machines in our building. Had to go to the main building. They charged $11.00 to park and that was not mentioned when I booked the room. Did not get breakfast as we had to leave for the hospital. I would not book a room at this location again. The proximity to the hospital was great.

The room was in terrible shape. The ceiling was falling off. The bathroom tile behind the toilet and tub were in desperate need of repair. The toilet itself would flush but would continue to run water we had to jiggle the handle to get it to stop. The complete hotel needs a remodel and update. Our room was an exterior room facing a busy highway and an alley way that was noisy.

The staff was very ice and the breakfast was decent but that's where it stops. The room was terrible. The ceiling was pealing and kept falling on the floor. The carpet felt so dirty I had to keep my shoes on the whole time. One of the lamps lightbulb was so dim we used it as a light light. The bathroom was a disaster. The walls and corners had been patched so many times it wouldn't stay on the wall. It had different color paint in places where they didn't even try to match it. The shower changed temperature about every 30 seconds from cold to scalding. On top of all that they charged us to park in their lot. We asked why and was told people at the Marina kept using it so they had to start charging. So charge the Marina people not the guests. All this and they charged us $200+. We had stayed there a number of times but they have really let it go so never again.

This is a very old days inn or something else from the 1960 or 70's. It is nasty. Took 30.min to check in. Our room smelled like bad musty water. We had water on the tv counter, bathroom counter and our floormat was soaking wet. The room is literally 10ft from a busy 4 lane hwy. It is noisy as hell and you hear everything in the rooms around you. We even heard a bad drug deal or something go bad around 3am. Lots of cursing and spinning tires. This place should be torn down and make nice marina condos. They should pay me for having stayed there.

I loved the location: a beautiful view of a marina for front-facing rooms. A great restaurant next door. Also, a Papa Johns and a diner less than a mile walk away for those with no transportation. Close enough to downtown Charleston that it's a very inexpensive Uber drive away, but far enough away to be less expensive. Great coverage of the front desk - employees were knowledgable, helpful, and personable. Rooms were clean. I stayed twice - one of my rooms was in good shape, the other needed renovation, although everything worked fine. Wifi did not work well. The property consisted of 2 buildings - the main one with inside entrances to rooms, the other a motel format. My experience was with the main building.

We didn't eat any breakfast because it was very crowded and busy, but we did grab some coffee which was very yummy. The place was clean, i did feel like our AC was a bit off. Half of the hotel is in a separate building so it feels more like a motel. If you get one of those rooms it can be a little loud The ac unit in our room emitted a funny smell so we could not use it. The shower curtain bar was bet so we could not close the curtain all the way. When we closed the curtain, the ends would sag towards the middle of the bar. Also it’s next to a working marina and they start early moving boats around so it’s tough if you want to sleep in. Also, housekeeping is by request, so you have to check in at the front desk if you want your room cleaned or bed made. However, the bed was clean and th water was hot so there’s that. And the continental breakfast was good. But I would not stay there again. There are other properties in the area that are cleaner and more modern.

We were in the second building which is exterior doors, the building is completely rundown on the outside. There is like a seating area between the two buildings were very sketchy people were sitting out there in the late evenings. Our room itself inside was fine. We never ate breakfast in the main hotel so cannot review that, but was not impressed at all with staying in the second building and felt kind of uncomfortable walking to our room late at night two women. If I stayed again, I would definitely say I wanna be in the main building. You could hear the highway from our room air-conditioning unit leaking in the right in the walkway outside of our room constantly and just very loud. You could hear everything next door.

Upon arriving, the hotel asked for a $75 refundable deposit and then another $11 parking charge for the one night we were to be there. As soon as we got in our room, we noticed the TV didn’t work and the room was in substandard shape, even for the budget price, the ceiling looked damaged. When we woke the next morning, we had something like plaster from the ceiling that had fallen all over us in bed and had also fallen at other areas around the room, including on our luggage. I spoke to four different staff members and had mixed experiences and while the morning staff acknowledged my concerns and offered apologies, I felt that it was a lack luster response to the experience.

I booked this room because of the price but also because it advertised that there was a shuttle service that brought residents to downtown Charleston, which was amazing as I wouldn’t have to worry about ride sharing or renting a car. When we arrived, we were informed that there is no longer a shuttle service and that it’s because of new management? There are 2 buildings for the hotel, the main one and then a motel-like structure to the side which is where we were in. Of course, with my luck, we were put right next to the freeway and the dumpster. Both brought individual challenges of their own like the constant sound of traffic or the obnoxiously loud truck that changed the dumpster at about 6:00am every other morning. When we got into the room, our door wouldn’t shut. After slamming it a time or two, it finally shut but there was a slit of opening all around it. So although it was shut, it was not completely shut as you can pass notes in between it, or even better, things could slither their way in. When I received a generated text from La Quinta asking if we need anything the day we checked in, I mentioned the door concern but never heard back so I made sure the next morning I went to let them know. A man fixed the side of the door but not the top and bottom. Overall, not the greatest- respectfully. Not enough space to talk about breakfast cause Jesus take the wheel on that! Good lord.

As someone who has stayed in several of the La Quintana locations this location was not as expected. Breakfast was bland and poor (definitely not appetizing as your website claims. Front desk staff apon arriving was scratching her head bad and thought i was trying to take a picture of her while i was on my phone handling business and also had no idea what the snack prices where and said we could not chargeto room but during checkout another staff member asked if i would like to charge the drink i had planned on purchasing before leaving to the room( very confusing as we where told that could not be done the night before. Hall on second floor smells of a sweat shop and poor air circulation. Room was somewhat cleaned, found hair tie on floor u der table which means floor did not get vacuumed properly. Beds looked and felt like they have been in the room for years, you could clearly see where the beds have caved in from never being turned or flipped. A/C did not work properly, made room smell musky and it stayed warm all night. Elevator kept messing up. Only positive side is the close proximity to downtown. Will not be returning to this location.

Make sure you book on the Marina side of the building or you can up in a room by a dumpster with horrible highway noise all night…this was a last minute booking only because we arrived early to the city and our resort was sold out for the night. When I went to get ice I was greeted by a pit bull running up to greet me (thankfully he was friendly) might want to tell staff to inform guests with dogs about using leashes on site!! We then woke up to the staff member attempting to open our door repeatedly. We were very freaked out and were not able to sleep for quite some time. I went to the desk a bit later and asked for more details and he said the system glitched and it said our room was not occupied. I get the mistake but it was a crazy thing to happen. Upon arriving to the hotel the fronts doors were broken where I had to pry them apart to get into the hotel, after check in the elevator was out of service. When I got to my room the lights on the wall did not work & I finally found a light to turn on. All lamp shades looked absolutely disgusting like the room wasn’t cleaned in years. I went to the bathroom to take a shower & found long black hairs on the towels. I sucked it up because I’m not usually one to complain but it wasn’t until I was laying down watching tv & 2 cockroach’s ran across my phone & my pillow. I lost the roaches around the room & called the front desk who told me to pack my stuff & they would give me a new room. I got the new room which was slightly better however slept in layers & with the lights on to look out for more cockroaches. I travel for work & have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel/room. I am hoping Expedia or la Quinta can provide me a refund of some sort for this inconvenience.

There were Roaches in the room, and I saw one around the food in the breakfast area, smell of marijuana in the hallway. Seems like every other guest had a dog. There were the same three people smoking weed in between the two buildings where you walk to go to the main building to eat breakfast which is set up like a court yard and employees were interacting with them and walking past them constantly and never addressed the issue. The "outer building", which we eventually referred to as the Down and Out Building was unclean and unsafe. There were blatant addicts and illegal sex workers present, cockroaches in the room and the elevator was stuck on the 3rd floor, with no emergency button to push for help. No ice machines, a second key card required to enter the main building, and a very refugee vibe. The main building was cleaner but the walls were this and the carpets were filthy. Ice machines were grimy, limited and unhealthy breakfast options. Would not recommend, even for the price.

We stay at a lot of La Quinta’s mainly because you were the best hotel that allowed pets. But now you charge for pets, but you don’t let people know that until they arrive. Pets are far better than children. Children tear up far more than a pet will so why not charge for children? That was the first thing, we got in late. We were exhausted from the long 10 Hour Dr. we get ready to go to bed. We lay down and it smelled so so bad like someone had taken a literal bathroom dump in the bed. I immediately went to the front desk and ask him to smell the pillow. I said you have to smell this. Why does it smell like a sewer? He said I’m not gonna smell that and I go well you’re going to check me out because we’re not staying here. Unfortunately, I had prepaid and did not get the insurance because I had no plans of canceling so I told him if you do not allow me to check out right now I’m gonna throw a serious fit in this hotel and there was a line of people waiting to check in. He said no problem call Expedia have them call me. I will confirm the problem and we will refund you the money which thankfully they did but by this time it was 11 PM we had driven 10 hours. We were exhausted and had to find another hotel to stay. I don’t think I will ever stay at a La Quinta again and I have stayed at them for years you need to get more pet friendly. You need to have someone from corporate go in and check hotels management. I could go on, but I’m limited space

The HVAC in the room was so loud that the maintenance person tried to fix it but couldn't, so we were move to a different room in the main building where we wolk up to bed bugs on the night stand and on the bedding. We will commend the facility maintenance personnel who tried to repair the original issue, but unfortunately were not able to do so.

DO NOT stay here, I had come down here for a wedding and just needed a quick hotel with a buddy of mine and it was an absolute horrible time. We started off by having problems with our lock on the door and we constantly had to get new ones, they just kept saying we were putting them next to our phone. The shower doesn’t get hot, just warm but we really had not said anything complaint wise at this point. After our wedding is when things just went horrible. We go back to our room and of course it doesn’t not work so I get another key card, that doesn’t work, so I get another and that doesn’t work. I eventually the guy at the front desk he has got to come and figure this out. He comes with the master lock and the door still isn’t opening and he clearly has no clue what to do, he then leaves and starts making phone calls but no one is answering him because it was now 4 am and he’s got no answers or anything for us. After another 30 minutes my buddy eventually got the door open and we got all of our stuff and got out of there asap and had to go buy another hotel. We both noticed our door was the only one with a different door handle and lock so this must of been an ongoing issue and they were just willing to put us in that room. Never again at any La Quinta or anything like that.

We are not fussy as a family so takes alot for a poor review. Location good for downtown -short drive. Initial room we were given had no fridge and wifi did not work. I went to front desk to ask re wifi and a very nice lady upgraded me without me asking- this was highlight of stay. New room was ok but dated - whole thing needs a touch up. At least it had a fridge. Wifi was very poor for whole stay. Not ideal for our son or work purposes. On night 2 the toilet blocked. I went down to front desk at 9 pm and was told someone would fix it. I returned to desk at 1045 to say no one had fixed and we were going to bed. No apology but was told that he thought it had been fixed and the workers were gone for the night. I was offered a plunger! Next morning at check out same staff member - no apology.

The staff were very kind when I checked in, which was very easy to do online beforehand. The room my mom and I shared was handicap accessible which was great for her. The room was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was very nice and clean, the shower was our only issue because of the temperature and pressure but it was only a minor inconvenience. The free breakfast was great as well, a good variety of options to choose from. Overall I would definitely recommend La Quinta.

My trip was for cancer treatment. My room was booked for one night 16-17th October and i find out upon arrival that parking in their "owned" parking lot is $10.00 per day. (Which my card got charged twice for even after checking out!) Please do not stay here because it is a ripoff from the beginning. It ended up costing me more than i could afford. There were no washcloths in the bathroom and when i tried calling the front desk, multiple times, nobody picked up. So, my husband went downstairs to the desk to see about some washcloths and the clerk was on her personal cellphone (on speaker) and waited on him, giving him one hand towel instead of a washcloth. Unbelievable! Never again!

After a long day of travel we arrived around 9pm. I had to wait about 15 minutes at the desk for an employee to appear to check us in. The employee offered no apology and no explanation for the empty check-in desk. When we got to our room the floor was filthy. I went back to the desk to ask for a broom. The attendant refused to let me borrow one saying he could'nt go help himself to the housekeeping equipment! He said housekeeping would take care of it in the morning. I told him I didn't want my dog getting into it during the night. He still refused to get me a broom. I asked for a different room & he said all rooms were full. I went back to my room, used a bathroom towel to clean up the floor, including a dead crab carcess, some kind of bolt or screw, black dirt, and pieces of drywall crumbs. I took it to the desk so he could see what I cleaned off the room's floor. He offered no apology & just asked me to go put the towel in their laundry bin. I said I wasnt going to do that & left the towel on his counter. We could smell cigarette smoke all night. The air conditioner wasn't working properly or something because the air in our room was humid and everything felt damp to the touch. It stayed that way all night. We are very disappointed with our experience at LaQuinta. I will never again stay at a LaQuinta. The floor being disgusting was bad enough but the desk clerk refusing to let me borrow a broom was just too much and very, very, unprofessional. Wish I could attach a pic!

There are obvious needs for maintenance at this property - doors so rusty that chunks of rust fall from the bottom onto walkways for the outside entry units, outlets that do not work properly, hairdryers and tv units that are not operable, and finishes on lamps and other items that have been delaminated/corroded for years due to not operating ventilation and HVAC at all times of the year in such a high humidity coastal area. There were also no microwaves or fridges available in the rooms where we stayed and at the end of the stay, we were charged a penalty fee of $250 for smoking in our rooms ... We ARE NOT SMOKERS! If outlets, lamps, and tvs do not work, it is reasonable to expect that the smoke detection devices did not work properly either. Additional problems - drug paraphernalia and marijuana smokers on the property and there are no measures around the property such as fences, gated entries, etc. Just not the stay we had hoped for and an insult to be told we were smoking anything in our rooms. We will not stay there again.

Walked into the check in area and the front desk was unoccupied. Waited around 10 mins and someone finally came out . Should’ve left out a sign out to let the guest know at least. A lady came out while I was sitting there waiting . Not even acknowledging that I’m there and walked into the door and return to the front desk . I wasn’t sure if she works here so I asked her . She stated that she works here and asked me what is it that I need . I believe the attitude and tone should be a bit better since it’s about customer service. I went to the car and grab my stuff and noticing she was on the phone already . I guess that’s more important.

What I loved the most that even though the rooms weren’t as they were shown in the pictures. The staff was really great! And I’ve never seen a breakfast area so clean and appealing as this one was.

The beds were lumpy and the mattresses were falling apart. Breakfast was ok. But we will never stay there again.

We chose this location for convenience and price. They do have breakfast but make sure you get there early. We parked a boat and trailer in the parking lot at no extra charge. Room was nice, just remember you are in Charleston by the mash so the room will feel damp unless you turn down the AC. Loved staying next to the docks!

Easy to get across the river to the historic area. Beside the hotel is a restaurant with panoramic views of the river and historic area.

The facility is old and in need of an updating. Our bed was completely sunk in on one side so we were rolling into each other all night long. They key card to our room kept failing and took five or six tries to open the door each time we used it. Twice we had to have our spare keycard reassigned but it, too failed again so we gave up. It became a joke between us about the door. The hallways were dirty, but other common areas seemed clean. They charge you $10 per night for parking, which is absurd considering they have their own lot. The WiFi is slow and went out often, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you need to rely on the internet for any kind of business purposes. Pros: The location is perfect and safe and you’re right on a little harbor with water. Easy access to the beaches and downtown.

Bad plumbing, staff was not helpful and I haven’t seen a hotel this century that did not have a mini fridge in the room.

We’ve stayed here many times and never had any issues. We think it’s changed management because we never had to pay for parking before, staff was unusually unhelpful and breakfast was hit or miss for the availability of food.

My sheets had poop on them and it soaked into the mattress pad! When I told the front desk, they just gave me new sheets to change it myself. What kind of a hotel does not change the sheets between guests? Gross

The room was absolutely disgusting.. nothing was cleaned.. there was smudged hand prints all over the bathroom door.. make up smeared on the toilet seat and sink.. and the comforter on the bed was absolutely disgusting and dirty.. the tub was completely stopped up n woudlnt drain properly.. and the AC never got cold and it turned off in the middle of the night and the room got uncomfortably hot even though the temp was set low

Our first room in the separate building. Wasn't very nice, so we went back and upgraded. It to the other building, and it was beautiful and very nice. I like that older building. It really needs to be modeling, but the newer building was simply wonderful.People were very friendly and their breakfast was excellent

The staff was great, everything else was not. The fact that you have to pay for parking is absolutely ridiculous. The toilet pressure was non-existent, leading to some disgusting situations. The front door of the room had a gap in it at the bottom so big you could see daylight through it. It also looked like it had been kicked in a few times. No microwave or fridge in the room is ridiculous as well. The rust on everything metal in the room was a huge turnoff as well. The smell coming off of the carpet, almost like it was shampooed and not fully dried was disgusting. Hands down the absolute worst La Quinta I've ever stayed in.

This was a sad mistake. The property (or at least our rooms) were in sad states of dis-repair; ceiling plaster falling off, tubs with no stoppers to give the little ones a bath, towel fixture falling off the walls AC Roaring like a truck with little cooling power and a mattress you could feel every coil within. Had I know they had turned themselves over to being a low-budget Work Crew hacienda that has no self-esteem, I would have gone elsewhere. Property was littered with trash and debris. Folks sitting on the back curb drinking

Accross the way from a boat harbor, fortunately we had a room facing this side, the back side faces the freeway. We were in bldg. #2 which has no ice makers or other amenities. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a $10 fee for parking. Room was dated yet large and clean

The hotel was ok. The room was "clean" it was vacuumed, and the sheets were clean. The bathroom was in need of help, the molding around in and around the shower was cracking and/or had mold that had been cleaned but still showing, the sink didn't drain and at one point during the night a chunk of the ceiling fell. The door was difficult to open from the outside, and I needed housekeeping to show me how to open it. The staff was efficient. It was alright for the quick turnaround I had moving through town.

    1. The lock key is non-functional. 2. There is evidence of cockroach infestation, few unknown evidences too. 3. The commode seat is unstable. 4. The bathtub tap is broken. 5. The door exhibits oil and dirt accumulation. 6. The room is in a state of disrepair and lacks cleanliness. 7. The lobby area is unclean. 8. There is an undisclosed parking charge of $11 per night.

I have stayed in La Quinta Riverview Charleston exclusively for several years. It is not for everyone and the online reviews that are scored low are actually consistent, accurate, justifiable and with a lengthy history describing the rooms (particularly the annex building) smell of cigarettes and/or mildew, bed bugs & ants commonly are in the room, the lamps are often without bulbs, housekeeping, towels and bed linens are typically

Very worn and fraying carpet in the room, very noisy in the hallway, very loud doors slamming near our room, rust on the bathroom door knobs and jams, mold on a lamp shade, sand in the shower upon arrival, hot/cold nozzle in tub coming off with mold behind it and the bathroom sink was very slow to drain.

Room was not very clean. Pair of underwear and hair brush left behind desk from previous guest, tissues on floor behind head of bed and shower curtain rod was falling off the wall. It was fine for a quick overnight stay but would not stay here again.
