Easy check in process and appreciated the 1200 checkout. We were able to utilize the pool area later in the morning before checkout. Valet was easy and helpful. The room was clean, well kept and quiet. We even had a balcony that overlooked Bay Street. Just a fantastic hotel.

The whole overall experience was exceptional. The staff the room, the beautiful pool setting made for a lovely trip. The poolside bar and menu were also very good. The location is perfect central to many restaurants and activities. We look forward to returning for another visit.

Awesome bar with best cocktails in town ( even beats new Cooper hotel) Excellent view from roof top Morning coffee needs improvement , but good pastries. Gym is very small and not even basic :( But still an excellent stay overall Rooms are soundproof . No street noise .

Our carpet was wet leading into the room and inside, to the point the wood floor was slick. Then the outlets wouldn't work. Turns out that room flooded the night before, but still checked us in. We complained, but since we booked with booking.com they said they couldn't do anything for us.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston. You can walk to several of the cities best restaurants. The rooftop bar and pool take this hotel to the top of my list. Would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately, there was a water leak that set off the fire alarm at 4:30 am the first night. ( No one’s fault, but it does make you wonder about maintenance). We were outside for about an hour, the fire trucks came promptly. Some people had to be relocated, but since water was ‘only coming through the ceiling in the bathroom”, we were asked to stay in our room (indoor rain).Maintenance did not shut off the water until after we left for sightseeing at 10am. We got back around 1:30pm and tried to take a nap because of the night before, and we awakened twice by people just entering our room without knocking. ( we had the indoor lock on so loud banging when they opened it AND the sign was on the door for do not disturb). When we let management know about the privacy invasion (this was an anniversary trip), we were told they were supposed to ring the doorbell 3 times before entering. They said they would send a bottle of champagne and they did not- not that it would have helped. Then the fire alarm went off again. we went downstairs, ‘it was just a reset’. No communication whatsoever or that we should plan to be out of the room for any specified time while they addressed clean up issues. Never once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience or try to make it up in any way ( snack at the Pavillion while clean up went on or anything) even when we checked out nothing was mentioned. I will never stay here again! While no one’s fault, the situation aftermath was not handled well.

Beautiful hotel, great restaurant. Coffee was horrible. I did complain 2 times and nothing changed. It was like drinking colored water.
- 4.5/5
The hotel is beautiful, traditional yet not dated, the staff was so friendly and welcoming and the location was perfect. We loved that there was coffee, pastries and fresh fruit set out on our floor in the morning. There is really nothing we didn’t like. The only issue we had is the tv was on when we got into our room after check in and we could not find a tv remote anywhere in the room to turn off the television or change the channel. It took a couple requests for a remote but that honestly was minor and nothing against the hotel or staff.

We were so impressed with the waiters on the rooftop bar. Noah and Ben were amazing. They were very polite, helpful, personable and worked hard to meet the needs of their customers. The two ladies at the desk were courteous and friendly. We had an issue in the room and one of them made sure it was corrected while we were out of the room having dinner.
- 2/5
The staff was great. The service they provided was amazing. The room was nice and so was the bathroom. The breakfast on each floor. There were stains on our sheets and blanket, a weird smell coming from my side of the bed. I wasn’t sure if it was coming from the nightstand, carpet, or chair. There was no windows, which made it feel claustrophobic. The toilet handle felt like it was breaking off. I requested my sheets and bathroom cleaned and it was not done.

Room was spacious and well appointed. Matress was decent, but needs updating. Rooftop pool and var were nice, but the drinks are watered down. Staff was very nicee and responsive. Overall nice hotel in good location

Nothing, we enjoyed our stay very much
- 3/5
Everything was lovely other than the entry goon. After dinner we went for a walk and my son put on a Gap sweatshirt. When we returned an incredibly rude employee confronted us demanding to know where we were going. You have to walk through a restaurant and bar to get through to the hotel and elevators. He was extremely rude with no apology when we explained we were staying at the hotel. The valet took forever. Other than that, it is a nice hotel. With so many other options in Charleston, I will not stay there again.

- 3/5
Staff and location For $400+ a night, I expected more than a literal parking lot outside our window. We booked a luxury king. There was an actual parking lot outside our windows on the 2nd floor. The valet parking people can see through our window. We stayed in room 209.
- 5/5
This was a great location. Near the pineapple fountain, the Charleston market. Close to various wonderful restaurants. About 5 blocks to king street shopping. Valet parking. The service is impeccable.

Overall excellant Stay but did experence problem with lack of available bell staff and valet parking delays. Was corrected but happened during checki in process which was very surprising.
- 4.5/5
There was so much about this hotel that we truly loved! The room was spacious, the bath was as well. The turn-down service was such a nice touch with the fresh cookies (Greek butter cookies!!) every night along with fresh bottles of water. The staff was very accomodating and welcoming too. Each morning the availability to have coffee, fresh squeezed juices, fruit and pastries down the hall from our room, without having to go to the lobby, was fantastic!. My favorite was the carrot muffin - delicious and moist! All the little things were very nice and appreciated. The rooftop pool and bar were a nice escape when the weather warmed up. Great view for the sunset! With all that was great, there were only small things that were on the downside. One was the air conditioning which never seemed to keep the room cold. I tend to need a cold room to sleep....so this could just be a preference to me. I actually went and purchased a fan to help circulate the air. At times, the AC would either be turned to a warmer temp while we were out or it automatically did this and we would return to a warm room, which then took a long time to cool back off. Additionally, we had to wait for nearly 25 minutes for our car from the valet which just appeared that they forgot to go get it. The biggest disappointment was the dinner at the in house restaurant which was not that awesome. While listed as one of America's best steakhouse, we were sad to be served our steak which was overcooked, and while still tasty it was more to the Medium Well vs. Medium Rare. The server did not offer to exchange so we just made due. Ultimately the meal was underwhelming overall.

We’ve stayed here several times. Excellent location. Excellent staff. Overall a bit dated in the bathrooms.

We totally lucked out with this stay - the property overall was great as was the staff. Rooms were amply sized and well furnished, housekeeping was on their game each day, and the lobby and rooftop were great spots to grab a drink and enjoy some people watching. We would definitely stay here again. One caveat: it’s well located downtown, so expect some bachelorette parties returning from a night out at 2 am.
- 5/5
Perfect location to everything. Staff was fabulous! So helpful and friendly
- 4/5
The hotel is very nice. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were super hot though. It was cold out so I think the heat was on in the building. We turned our A/C to the lowest possible setting but still felt like we were baking. Overall a nice place.
- 5/5
The hotel was even more incredible than we imagined. The room was extremely clean and spacious. Love the lobby!!! The decor in the halls was exquisite!

This hotel was amazing! The staff went above and beyond! It was clean, beautiful, entertaining and very convenient to everywhere. I loved the rooftop pool and bar! I will be back!

Stayed over the weekend of March 6-8. Great location. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. Rooftop pool and restaurant are great. Hotel was very clean as were the rooms. Bathroom was large and had a tub and a standup shower. They offer hot tea, coffee, OJ, and pastries in the morning. Cookies in the afternoon. On every floor! Would def stay again!!
- 5/5
The food up on the roof deck was mediocre… But the setting very nice. I didn’t eat in the restaurant or drink at the bar.
- 4/5
While the hotel itself was nice, the room was not as expected and really needs updating and repairs.
- 5/5
Everything was absolutely amazing walking distance to almost everything you’d want… The only downfall of our hotel was the rooftop pool really wasn’t swimmer friendly. It was more like a bar atmosphere and would’ve felt really uncomfortable going swimming but the staff was excellent. The housekeeping was excellent. The bartenders were excellent.
- 3/5
The hotel claimed to have breakfast but all they served was coffee and pastry. Very disappointed.
- 5/5
One of the most comfortable hotels I have stayed in over my 50years of travel!! The staff is great and very helpful. The location is great to explore Charleston.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful!! I felt very well taken care of. Valet was a great experience too, I called down 10 min before I would depart to have my car ready, they park them in a lift so it takes time. Also if you order room service, it adds a $20 delivery fee. That was something that was clearly stated on the menu, but I didn't realize that until I ordered, so heads up. Excellent sleeping quarters and very very convenient to all Charleston fun! Very happy with my stay!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Furnishings were very impressive.
- 5/5
Rooms were huge and clean, staff was top notch, bartenders simply the best! There was nothing we could say bad about this hotel and will stay here every time!
- 5/5
So luxurious! The fluffiest towels and robes, and the comfiest bed! The staff were also so warm and friendly.
- 5/5
Our first room had some flies in it so they moved us to a new room and upgraded us. We appreciate them.
- 5/5
Gorgeous and wonderful staff and location. I will stay over and over again!
- 5/5

Room was beautiful. Location next to city market, very walkable.valet services were a bit of a challenge
- 5/5
What an awesome hotel!! The rooms were very clean, the staff was very attentive, and the restaurant was fantastic!!
- 4/5
For the price, this hotel is “just fine.” Nothing special or particularly interesting about it, the staff is okay, room is nice. Turndown service never showed up and the front desk simply said, “sorry, I’ll let them know” which wasn’t helpful at all. There were no little extras nor was there anything memorable other than I have $500+ less than I did yesterday. I will not remember this hotel.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. Rooms were perfect and the rooftop bar was a fantastic ending spot for the evening.
- 2/5
Check-in was unacceptable with only one clerk and one valet at the 4:00 check-in time. All else has been wonderful.
- 5/5
Service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly beautiful Hotel clean and the rooms were spacious so many shops and restaurants nearby.

We especially liked the location--walkable to everything we wanted to see in Charleston. Gave us a feeling of having visited the true Charleston!

We would come back again. This trip we got a good rate too.

Conveniently located downtown. We walked everywhere. The food in Grill 225 was amazing! Jimmy is a great server with a fun personality. Our room was immaculate. We had a nice balcony. Can't go wrong with free pastries and coffee in the morning, cookies in the afternoon and little biscuits with turn down service. Love the noon check out time. It was a great experience.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent, perfect location very close to great restaurants and shopping. Clean and comfy rooms and welcoming staff! Also rooftop bar was awesome, plus individual heaters keep you cozy while taking in the views!

Great location, wonderful staff, roof top lounge and pool were awesome.
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel! Room was spotless, staff was amazing. So friendly and attentive! Top notch…we will be back!
- 4/5
The hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Did not eat at the 225 restaurant. The Pavilion Bar drinks were good pours, but the food is basically bar food. In my opinion not worth the cost. The bed linens were great, but the bed mattress sloped down on either side so it was hard to find a position where I didn’t feel like I was sliding off the bed. Needs a new mattress. At checkout I found a $36 charge for watching TV!! What a rip off. In all my travels I’ve never been charged for watching regular TV channels. It really is a lovely property, but if I return to Charleston I won’t be staying here.
- 5/5
The rooftop bar was amazing. The lobby restaurant was incredible. Best steak and sides on our trip to the South lease eat there. You will not regret it. Staff was incredible.
- 5/5
Excellent location just across from the city market, a short walk to the carriage tours and surrounded by numerous restaurants. You can easily walk around old Charleston from here including along the waterfront. Staff is fantastic; very accommodating and extremely friendly. Hotel itself is beautiful and the rooftop pool/bar/restaurant has great views of the city and the waterfront.

Another day, after exploring Charleston, we returned to find housekeeping had left our room door wide open. The front desk associate was kind and the Director of Housekeeping personally apologized and checked in afterward, but when I later mentioned it to the on-site manager, Teresan, she denied it ever happened—which left a bad taste. The bar was equally disappointing. We sat at an empty bar for 10 minutes while the older bartender ignored us and focused on cutting fruit. When he finally looked up, he said he needed to get more fruit and never took our order. This was especially disheartening as we had just gotten engaged and wanted to celebrate with a bottle of Veuve. Thankfully, Elisha, another bartender, was fabulous and truly the highlight of the hotel. At checkout, after multiple failed attempts to reach the GM, Teresan waived our valet fees but also told me that Pavilion Market “is not a 5-star hotel.” At $500 a night, that statement summed up the gap between what they promise and what they deliver.
- 5/5

Great relaxing weekend trip, staff is great and love the rooftop pool and bar. Very close to great restaurants and shops.
- 5/5
One of my favorite places to stay in Charleston!
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful. Such character and charm! The bed was so comfy. The room was quiet with such dark window coverings for night that we slept like babies (and we usually cant in a hotel). Complimentary Coffee and fruit/pastries in the morning was a yummy start to the day. The rooftop pool was the perfect break during hot sightseeing days! All of the staff was so friendly (shout out to Devin and the other bartender). Everything is very walkable from the hotel. We truly enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
beautiful coffee & tea options & pastries in gorgeous silver pots each morning ... afternoon fruit & cookies... rooftop pool is great!!

Our stay was wonderful! We were right in the ❤️ of the city in close proximity to everything. Yet in the hotel it was very quiet. The hotel was imaculate. Beds were comfortable and every detail was well thought out from umbrellas , robes and slippers to breakfast to turn down service. It was such a treat to stay there and we hope to return
- 5/5
Every staff member was friendly. I enjoyed my stay! It was a very convenient area to stay. The valet was super easy to use.
- 5/5
Love this property. Rooftop bar/restaurant is amazing. Only complaint is no key was needed to access the elevator, which posed safety concerns. However, the staff was amazing and extremely responsive and pleasant.

Stayed 3 nights! It’s an older hotel but they have maintained it really well and has the aesthetic that is older southern class! Maybe short staffed? Valet was a bit of a struggle just because they were swamped. Hotel pool was very clean. Not much seating and people come and put stuff down to save seats then don’t use them which is frustrating if the pool is something you’re wanting to enjoy. All that to say we would definitely stay again! Staff was super friendly
- 5/5
Very cozy property !
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The location is great and the turndown service is a lovely touch. The rooftop pool is clean and the pool deck chairs are super comfortable. The view from the rooftop bar is stunning especially at night. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
- 2/5
They barely cleaned the room- left garbage and gross stuff was always on a floor- a contact and a ball of hair.. shower fixtures were all tarnished. Staff at desk a pool were very nice though. Also great location!
- 5/5
Great location, perfect for couples, comfortable rooms
- 4/5
Housekeeping did not clean our room after asking twice until after 4pm.
- 5/5
Extremely nice hotel, a little bit hard to find at first. The only thing I didn’t like was the $37 valet parking, but we were able to find places on the street and save some money. Rooftop swimming pool and bar was very nice, easy to walk to attractions nearby.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, and very friendly staff
- 4/5
We loved this hotel. It was beautiful, having a very old world feel. There was a pretty big disappointment for me, as the pool closed due to chemical problems. This was my primary reason for choosing this hotel. This was an anniversary trip without kids and the hope of enjoying swimming without kids being all over me was would have been amazing. I had hoped to enjoy swimming and cocktails on the rooftop. There is little shade up there and a pool is very needed to get that experience. I would have appreciated a back up alternative, as I was informed there are day passes available at other pools but at 2:00 on the day we tried to go to the pool, it was too late. We had allocated 2 afternoons to pool time. The hotel did provide $100 per day credit but when you are really expecting a book in a place as hot as Charleston for the poolside experience, this was pretty disappointing.
- 4/5
Lovely staff. Pool is cold. Musty smell throughout.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel. The front desk was so kind and accomodating, the gentlemen who retrieved cars and luggage were so kind and efficient. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable in great condition. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect get away.
- 3/5
The rooftop bar was nice. The suite we were "upgraded" to had no windows, a fridge and kitchenette area but no paper towels, cutlery or supplies of any kind. There was nothing provided in all the kitchen cupboards and drawers. Very few outlets near the only other mirror for getting ready. The lighting wasn't great in the room.
- 5/5
great hotel beautful room and staff outstanding
- 5/5
We especially enjoyed the large room, comfortable bed & pillows and amenities in room as well as coffee & treats available. The rooftop pool area was nice but we were unable to secure a lounge because either they were all taken or people left towels on them. It would be nice if they offered mocktails
- 5/5
Love this sophisticated gem in the heart of Charleston. Spacious rooms, wonderful continental breakfast and coffee on each floor and access to a rooftop pool. Many great properties in Charleston, but this is my favorite.
- 5/5
Great service! Hotel is very well kept. Great location!

- 4/5
Nice older hotel. Price expensive for the accommodations.
- 5/5
5 star hotel with friendly staff, luxurious accommodations, Marble bathroom, fabulous pool, rooftop Bar and great restaurant Grill 225!
- 4/5
Absolutely perfect location. Easy to walk to historic district, French quarter, popular restaurants and shopping. Charleston market right next door. Loved our double balcony luxury room. A little noisy as they opened to the market side. Room was a little rough looking for being recently renovated. Great shower/bath. Wished the balconies were large enough for chairs but they allowed for lots of fresh air and views. Rooftop bar/pool provided stunning city and sunset views. Staff were awesome and really took time to ensure you had all you needed. Very thoughtful. Enjoyed the coffee and daily fresh pastries on each floor at breakfast.
- 4/5
The staff was very accommodating. The room was good. Only used their restaurant once. It was very pricey. I’ve never paid $63 for a steak and the sides were extra.

The hotel itself is beautiful and perfectly located—everything we wanted to see and do in Charleston was just a short walk away. One of the highlights was the rooftop bar and pool. The views were incredible, the drinks were fantastic, and it was the perfect spot to unwind and take in the city from above. Our room was elegant and comfortable, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Between the luxury, the location, and the exceptional service, the Market Pavilion Hotel made our honeymoon absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to come back—highly recommended for a romantic getaway or special occasion!

Everything about our visit to this hotel was amazing. From the minute, we stepped inside till the minute we left. The staff were friendly and courteous, they would go above and beyond to make sure your stay was perfect. The rooftop bar was fun and lively seats on the first come first serve basis. I would definitely stay here again. Location was perfect.

My Mom and I travelled to Charleston for a mom/daughter trip. We wanted to stay in a unique hotel in the French quarter area. We had a beautiful, huge room with 2 queen beds, an armoire with robes and slippers, and a sitting area. The location was ideal-right next door to the market! Yet it was very quiet in the hotel. Coffee, tea, fruit and pastries are available on each floor by the elevators in morning. Cookie plates are on each floor in the afternoon. Staff is polite, valet service is fast, and the food on the rooftop is delicious.

A 5 star property. Very attentive staff with well appointed rooms. Daily cleaning (& you could specify AM or PM) plus a turn down service with cookies & water. Parking is valet. The roof restaurant is nice as is the lobby bar.

We had a lovely room on the third floor. The room was clean with comfortable beds. My favorite part of the hotel was the rooftop pool. Quiet, relaxing, and delicious lunch. Classy hotel. Convenient to all the great shops and restaurants.

Beautiful hotel excellent location

I loved the location, it was close to everything. The roof top pool and bar was very nice. The hotel reminded me of being in Paris. The coffee , juice and pastries were a nice touch each morning.

Staff was very nice and welcoming. They insist you valet and don’t tell you it ends up being $50 until you check out. The hotel has that antique smoke smell like your grandmother’s house. They said they had just replaced the mattresses but we found them uncomfortable and worn. Maybe we got a room without an updated bed. Didn’t work for us

Excellent hotel near everything.
- 5/5
The roof top pool was excellent and food was great. The lobby was very cool and I wish I had had time to dine at the steak restaurant. Very convenient to lots of cool restaurants and coffee shops. I am already booking another trip and will stay there again.

The hotel mistakenly charged me three times for almost $3000 coming out of my account. The room was not clean. It was not kept up my window overlooked a garage with cars coming in and out and parking right by the window was very noisy in the hallway, it was the worst experience for almost $900 a night. I’m disgusted.

The girls at the front desk were amazing - got us coffee before we self for ridge run

We had the perfect stay the location is excellent the staff very friendly and helpful. So many nice perks like bottled water in your room the coffee and pastries put out in the morning is very nice with real coffee cups not paper and the cookies put out in the afternoon were delicious. The beds are comfy and having a robe is a nice touch and the high end brand of toiletries was a super nice surprise ! We will definitely refer friends to stay here !

We stayed as a guest immediately following a family member's hospital stay. It was comfortable, quiet, clean and beautiful. And the staff was exceptional. Exactly what we needed. Thank you :)

The hotel was impeccably decorated for the holidays and it was beautiful! Everyone we encountered at the hotel was so polite and helpful. Our room was well appointed and had all the comforts you could think of, which included robes, slippers, umbrellas, bottled water, etc. The one drawback to the room was that it didn’t have a mini fridge. We loved having the pastries and coffee in the morning too! Bed and pillows were very comfortable!

My wife and I just came down for a little 3 day trip for our 7th wedding anniversary and we love Market Pavilion Hotel. This is our 2nd stay, besides the old elegance with all amenities you could ask for, including a great Restaurant upon entering the hotel lobby and the Pavilion poolside rooftop bar on the 6th floor, the location gives you easy walking to any restaurant of your choosing or nighttime entertainment. Great place and we'll be back!
