DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Charlotte - SouthPark

We liked very much having a double bedroom suite for my family. Except one, the AC controll of each room? The bedrooms were both a little stuffy, and No way to open the ceiling vents? Other than that issue, we were pleased with our accommodations. Thank you

Always love staying there and this time was no different. My go to hotel when going to Charlotte.

The place was pretty nice all in all. My only issue is we ordered DoorDash and the dasher was allowed to come inside the hotel, go up to the 3rd floor and leave the food right at our door. I’m not a fan. Lots of families with young kids were staying here, playing in the courtyard/pool area and in general not paying attention, because they’re kids being kids which is great. These days you just never know about people. Please make the dashers at least wait in the lobby if not outside at their car.

The property was very nice, and I felt that I was in a very safe area of town. I found the layout a bit confusing, as the section where my room was located was not sufficiently marked to guide me to my room. I had to ask for help and was embarrassed about that.

Our first room had a broken refrigerator and we had to throw out the food we had put in it but we got moved to a nicer larger room. They had a nice pool which was not open yet but is probably very nice when it's open. Location was right next to Southpark Mall which was ideal for our teenagers.

However, the staff was nice about it, and they even put me in an upgraded room with no extra charge, since I couldn't get into the king sized one. So, that thing aside, I still recommend this hotel whenever you're in the beautiful city of Charlotte!

Hotel was less than clean they don't even provide daily service at all. I found the amenities to be that of a two and a half to three star hotel at best. Definitely not a that of a four-star hotel. We fortunately got breakfast included but they had the audacity to charge $17 for breakfast buffet that was barely worth $5. No options for anything else but the buffet and the quality was horrible. Nothing really edible on it couldn't even eat the oatmeal it was watery and tasteless. Don't recommend this hotel many many other options

My Room Was Super Clean , Kid Friendly even on a 2 night stay they still came by and drop off clean rags and towels, thank you for a comfortable stay !

Room wasn’t ready at check in and there was a lobby full of people waiting for their rooms past 4pm. Attempted to order room service for breakfast and was told “there is 1 server and they are really busy can you call back in 45 minutes?” For the price of the room, we were not happy with our stay.

I suggest a refresh of the rooms. The carpet is frayed. The slider to my balcony had a problem with the lock. The latch niche in the frame is all cut up. The lighting needs to be updated. It’s very dark and dingy in the rooms. The rooms were comfortable so from a size perspective and all of the furniture in the rooms was useful and helpful. It just really needs to be updated. Thank you.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The hotel was clean. The staff was always helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is located close to all the shops and mall, so it was convenient for my family. But, the bathroom and the shower they all were too old and outdated. Shower kept dripping the whole time and switches were torn. The hotel is clean but it’s need renovation. Apart from that the rooms were spacious and good. We stayed for two nights. It’s was fine. Thank you.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Double Tree Hilton! The lobby was beautiful, the staff was warm and friendly, and I loved my room. I had a courtyard view with a walk out patio and the fact that could sit on my patio and watch the sun set was such a great end to my long day of work and travel. I will be staying there again!

Arrived at 1:15pm and was told my room was ready but to get in it I would have to pay $75, which I did not do. When we finally got in the room, we immediately noticed bugs crawling all over the bathroom floor. The toilet seat was loosely sitting on the toilet so I know the toilet wasn't cleaned. That is so unsafe. We were only in the room for a couple minutes and left for a concert. We got back to the room around midnight which is when we found out the beds were full of bugs too. We finally couldn't take the nastiness anymore so we left at 4:30am to head home. I called the front desk lady and she said she would have the manager call me, which never happened. I will never stay at a Doubletree again!

We got off to a rocky start, the gentleman at checkin was quite condescending to my boyfriend, he was trying to get the check in process started and the gentleman at reception just said "I can't help you" and while he was trying to get help, another guest came up asking for help with her coffee machine and he gave her the same response, just kinda rude. The extra blankets I requested for my kids felt like velcro and the bathroom door didn't close. Other than that, everything else was fine. Breakfast was good, the woman at checkout was kind and helpful. I've always liked Double Tree, so I'll chalk this up to a one off. Just needs a little maintenance and some customer service training here and there. Otherwise a good value!

The property is nice. Rooms are large and seemed clean. Close to Southpark Mall and other shopping and food areas. The check in staff were friendly and accommodating. We did have one major issue with sewage coming up through the shower drain. We called the front desk and they got us moved to a new room right away.

Yes , the room was very dated. I signed up for early chekin but was told by the manager that that was an extra $65-70. I was also told I was put in a handicap room even though it wasn't what I reserved. After questioning I was told if I booked thru Expedia they pretty much throw you anywhere in the hotel. There were no clean towels and I couldn't check in. After I asked who the manager was and the manager over them. After about 5 minutes I was told a few rooms opened up and I could have the room I initially reserved. There were children running in the halls around, so sleep was minimal. I will never stay at the Double Tree near South Park Mall Again!!!

I have stayed at Hilton's that had way better tubs, but the location, the cleanliness and the size and the welcome screen on the television. Such a nice touch! There was no room available at check in and no attempt for the property to contact me that they canceled my reservation. Plus they were rude while telling me at 11:30pm that I shouldn’t be upset and didn’t even apologize.

I tried reaching out to someone from front desk and I believe with the traffic in the hotel they were very busy. Upon arrival I enjoyed the scenery of the hotel, it was very classy and in a relaxing calm environment. Based on the reputation of the place it is known for it's warm chocolate chip cookies and none of my cookies were fresh nor warm they tasted stale. I went to examine my room and everything looked fine but when I turned on the tv and was connecting it to my netflix account i had to turn the tv off for a moment because there was a scary noise coming from the box that the tv was connected to, in the bathroom the handle to turn the water hot or cold was broken was just dangling. Everything else was fine but those things.

The room was falling apart. We had 15-20 teenagers making loud noise next door, banging, yelling, running, it was so terrible. We were also given the wrong room. We were supposed to have a full kitchen and we did not. We were also given the wrong bed size. I have honestly never had a worse visit at a hotel on a night I really needed to rest. Going home upset about how much money I spent.

Overall, I’d rate my stay a 3.5 out of 5. I had to request extra towels every day, and housekeeping was inconsistent. When I checked in, there was a bobby pin on the kitchen counter that wasn’t mine, and it remained there for the entirety of my stay. The shower handle in room 227 spun when turning on the water, and the kitchen faucet was loose and swiveling. Two drawers in the nightstand were off their hinges and unusable, and there was also a missing tile in the bathroom. It seems like the rooms could benefit from more thorough maintenance checks. I also requested a high floor away from the elevators, but was placed on the second floor with both the elevator and ice room directly outside my door. While my stay wasn’t terrible, the hotel does need some attention and improvements.

Parking lot was a little confusing to get into. Hotel is also very large.

NA The television in the bed room didn't work. A staff came up and still no response. I requested compensation on my bill, as I was at that location due to a personal trauma and had to force myself to sleep with no TV to distract me. Horrendous. At the nightly price point, everything should be workable and in good order.

Don’t leave valuables in your car… staff was friendly but not really able to offer local travel information to Uptown. Breakfast about $20 each after tax.

The hotel is in a great location right next door to the mall and several restaurants in the area. Also another plus for me was FREE parking! I would definitely recommend this location!

As for the staff, the gentleman who checked me in felt bothered and not happy to be there. I also felt the rest of the staff was somewhat cold and dismissive. The only genuinely friendly member of the staff was the waitress serving breakfast.

I had an amazing stay. We were there for a family member’s funeral. Double Tree is always my go too hotel. My goodness, the cookies. Amazing. The staff in reception were absolutely incredible. I didn’t have breakfast there, it is not complementary, however that was fine and expected. I do however, try to dine in for dinner, and was told by the bar tender on site that there was 1 chef and it would take him a long time to accommodate us. We opted out and went elsewhere for dinner. Other than that, the stay was amazing. The balcony was lovely, clear view of South Park mall! Walking distance from just about everything. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Dark and Dirty Room which had no view , found a bug and brought it down to the front desk . Requested a refund for the night which was denied. Broken hairdryer, which was not replaced for hours, even after 3 requests, had to go to the event we traveled for with dirty hair. Front desk staff was friendly.

The sliding glass door to the patio, came off the track, which i had to catch the door. If i didn't catch the door it would have fell on me. Very on unsafe!!!! The maintenance person told me there was missing hardware from the sliding door. Why was this room giving to me if it was in poor condition?!

Felt like home

Staff will wake you up by coming in the room at 8am even when you requested late check out. We were on our way out and there were cops everywhere from an incident and it took forever just to be able to leave the parking lot

Everything was fine until after we checked out, My husband forgot his expensive denture in the room, He called right away and the front desk wasn't helpful at all .. almost rude he asked us to call back next day 9am-4pm, So we did ,the cleaning lady said the room hasn't clean yet and he explained what he forgot and left phone number...no one called back... very bad service ... I understand that we forgot something there... but things happen... you people didn't even look for it and don't care ...will not stay there again!

Had a great stay at this hotel. It was comfortable, and meet all our needs for the night.

When I pulled in, I nearly left. The parking lot looks pretty bad. Scary even and certainly not like a doubletree in that area should. Also the tub would not drain. I’m trying to take a shower, you were up to your ankles in water. We were only there overnight, so we didn’t figure this out until the day we were leaving and reported it at check out.

The only negative feedback I have is that pulling out of the property onto the main road can be a challenge during busy times but not really something they can control either.

Only here for one night. It took us about 20 minutes to get here from Carowinds. Check in staff was wonderful and friendly. 2 bedroom suite is very spacious. Pull out couch seemed comfortable for my son.

Hotel is an excellent area and seemingly close to everything. Rooms are large and clean, though a little dated and the kitchenette does not come with any utensils or cookware. Service is the key here, every staff member was great, in particular "Lee" .

Loved my stay! Staff is so helpful and friendly. The courtyard is beautiful. Wish I had more time to just hang in the hotel. I had breakfast and dinner there. Would recommend both.

The desk assistant Latia was great! Very helpful and kind, she made sure we were happy with the suite. Bryana also checked on us and got us a remote for the living room. Our time at the pool was enjoyable but cold.

Stayed for overnight to make going to an early business meeting easier. Excellent front desk service, an incredibly comfortable bed with lots of pillows, and a shower with great pressure. Free parking that was easy and convenient was a bonus. I chose to try the on-site restaurant due to time/weather; limited options, but excellent service and tasty meal. Highly recommend, and I know I will return again.

Everything about this hotel was amazing, the rooms were cleaned top to bottom. The beds were so comfortable and cozy I didn't want to get up. This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. I will definitely use them again. Check in service the lady was amazing and professional and facial expression was inviting. It was very late when we checked in and she still had a smile on her face. The kids loved the pool. I will be back.

The towels had a strong odor of bleach and were dingy. Had to switch towels twice. no more bleach odor but blah odor. Bought towels outside and brought in. Bedding was dingy and had slight odor of bleach. I think they need new washers with extra rinse cycle? Or instruct staff to properly wash linens? Parking lot in the back of hotel needs lighting indoors. Scary for us at night. Excellent location!

There were bed bugs so we left. The manager did refund our stay and provided breakfast vouchers that we did not utilize due to leaving in the middle of the night.

This was one of the best stays that I have ever had at a hotel! The staff was extremely personable upon check in and my room was more than comfortable and accessible! I was right at an exit point and I could come and go as I pleased. The balcony was also immaculate!

I stayed here for my 33rd birthday and so loved it. Very clean and comfortable my favorite was the lobby in the upstairs lobby in the foyer. The pool was closed but my room was in front of the pool it was very huge. It was March so we couldn’t get it! The people was very nice and I would go back and stay.

Hotel with nice rooms, issues with services. The lobby didn’t have working a/c and we waited for a hot hour to get checked in to our room. I asked for water and was told there would be some when the restaurant opened at 5 pm, an hour later. Turns out the laundry was delivered late and they were behind cleaning rooms. Then we tried to order room service for dinner and were told the grill was being cleaned and wouldn’t be ready for an hour. The rooms are really spacious and nice, although there was no hair dryer in bathroom. The pool is nice. Luckily the a/c worked everywhere else besides the lobby. The staff were all very friendly besides working up against faulty services and equipment. Maybe we stayed there on a bad weekend?

Overall it was a very nice property room was spacious and pool was great. We arrived in our room to a very strong mildew smell. I would have complained or asked for a different room but we were out at some other locations during a majority of the day so we only really slept. However, each time we came back it was very strong and overwhelming. I am not sure what was wet but seems like not a great room to put people in if there is in fact mildew or mold growing somewhere in there. It was not a result of us as this was the smell on our arriving to the room initially. I would have someone check on it because it is really bad. Room 249 to be exact.

We had a terrible stay. Air conditioner was bad in the first room. They said it was fixed but it wasn’t. Had to move rooms. That one was bad too. They finally fixed that but then got a 6am call and knock at the door about a leak in our room from the air conditioners. They also were completely confused about me purchasing breakfast in the reservation and almost charged us extra both days. Extremely stressful the entire time with our five kids

The poor review relates to the A/C not working in the room. My room never got cooler than 76 degrees. I called the front desk and was told they would send someone up. No one ever came and I got tired of waiting and went to sleep. It was a very uncomfortable evening and I did not get a lot of rest. Upon checkout I informed the front desk and they simply thanked me and said they would send maintenance up. That was all they said. While waiting for my ride to pick me up I hear a couple other guests say they had the same problem at check out. I feel like some compensation would be a kind gesture.

We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in a double master-king suite with another couple. We loved having our own space and bathroom with a living area and small kitchen in the middle. The pool was wonderful. My only complaint was our hallway and room smelled like cigarettes. Thankfully our friends brought a box fan so we opened the balcony doors and were able to suck fresh air into the room.

Arrived at 415 for our 4 pm check in and room was not ready until 530. Had event at 6 that we were late to and missed part of due to not being able to get to our room and get ready.

The check in , service, staff, room, restaurant and everything was awesome. And when I’m in that area again definitely will be spending time there again. Recommending anyone looking for a nice place to vacation at this is the best place to start

Always a great experience staying here

Staff was great especially Chino at nite. The pool was nice and relaxing and fun for the kids I love the long hours the pool was available. The balcony was awesome. and the beds were nice.. I didn’t care for the shower/tub it was pretty small the sliding door was hard to close there were cracks in the walls… it was hard to locate a rolling cart for our luggage on arrival and departure I would stay again

It was amazing except we stayed for one night and went swimming the first night so we used the towels and really didn’t extra in the room closet and it was only one bath rag so I had to request more which took a while because I know the staff is busy and I marked that it was 2 people staying but we also brought our child so the couch was very nice with the covers I just suggest more bath rags bc I like a rag for my face, body, and one extra just in case and my likes the same thing so that’s at least six rags we need in the bathroom just a heads up we are booking another stay for the 4th of July weekend because the stay was warm welcoming and relaxing exactly what we needed so thank you, and one last thing I loved the welcome with my name on the tv

Great experience

Had an awesome time at the DoubleTree! The staff were super friendly, check-in was quick, and the warm cookie at arrival was a nice bonus. My room was clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. Loved the hotel vibe—quiet, relaxing, and well-kept. The breakfast was solid too. Definitely recommend and would stay again!

Poor service.

Really nice and quiet property situated right next to the beautiful symphony park. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We had a great stay!

air did not seem to be working , the ac unit was loud, It was located in the bedroom near the bathroom adn was making a loud noise. The ac was on but was not feeling cool, the pull out bed was uncomfortable and blanket for the bed was scratchy an dpoor quality

Property was well maintained and cleaned. Beds were comfy and rooms very spacious. Service was outstanding in every interaction. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to Charlotte. Definitely recommend this property, super and amazing location!

Great area but parking was lacking and the bathrooms are pretty tight. But I’d stay there again

Hotel was clean! Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great! However, air conditioning didn’t work and needed to be reset, ice machines didn’t not work, tv needed to be reprogrammed. Everything was fixed but was a little inconvenient and surprise considering this was a nice hotel

The room was a wonderful layout, clean, comfortable and spacious. The room temperature was hot when we arrived. Maintenance came and got it working quickly. Unfortunately it took quite a while to cool down which made it hard to sleep. Somehow between 11:30 and midnight, both TVs turned on automatically waking up the entire family.

Nice

This hotel was beautiful and I often stay here when I am in town. My only negative feedback is that the king size adjoining suite - room 314 there are dips in the floor. There were no dishes to use in the kitchen. No pots or pans for the stove top. Also the ac unit is in the closet of this and it’s really loud. Overall it very spacious and accommodating. I would stay here again but I think it’s time for a facelift!

Refrigerator did not work in our unit. No one helps you with your luggage so ladies you better be strong because those carts the give you are so hard to use. I fell trying to use one and it slipped away from me and I fell and hit my head on the tile. Also we were awaken up with a construction crew drilling the parking lot of the hotel two days in a row at 8:00am both mornings! Was not very pleaent!!

It is actually a very nice hotel, located in a quiet community near lots of stores. However, on the first night, the heat went out overnight. I told the front desk the next day and then we left the property to go about our day. Came back hours later and a service person was in the room. He got the heat working, but it went out again about an hour later. And that wasn't all. When we returned to our room, housekeeping had had only made up one of the beds, and just ignored the other. They also emptied the trash under the kitchen sink, but just left the trash can sitting out with the cabinet doors wide open. They also left only one set of towels, for a family of 3. I went to the front desk to ask for more towels and make them aware of the poor job that housekeeping had done. They apologized and gave me a voucher for breakfast the next day and 2 cookies, which was hardly enough for the inconvenience of a freezing room and no towels. Then, it still took them over 2 hours to deliver more towels to our room and the heat still wasn't working. They finally moved us to another room. The new room was comparable to the first, but had older appliances and the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. At least the heat worked, but an upgrade in room would have been a better. I complained at checkout, and the clerk apologized and offered me 3 cookies. DoubleTree clerks acted as if cookies were the magical answer to the many problems at this location. Very disappointed in this 4-day stay.

Great location, roomy, quiet and clean.

The rooms themselves are average at best. The beds are hard as a rock. The bathrooms need to be remodeled. The overall vibe of it is it was nice at one point in time, but they haven’t invested in keeping the property current. It is very conveniently located to the South Park mall, which is nice. The parking is not that great as it’s along side of the building mainly or in the back in the parking garage, which is inconvenient, but It’s in a good area. I’ve never felt concerned about safety. I won’t stay at this hotel again. The experience was underwhelming to me and there are better options close by.

The stay at the double tree was amazing. It was welcoming and inviting from the arrival. The room was luxurious and the furnishings were immaculate. The bed was comfortable and provided a great nights rest.

The elevators were slow and one was out if order. Ice machines did not work on 2 of the floors.

Great value and setting for business travel

When we got there we were greeted and loved the hotel. We got to the room and realized we were given a double queen with pull out couch when we booked king with pull out couch. Then the room had no heat, was set on 85 but never got above 65 in the room. However the front desk gentleman quickly resolved the no heat issue and moved us to another room. The room we moved to was not the same but it was warm at least. We would stay here again.

Amazing staff and welcome into hotel!

Liked that I could walk to several restaurants. Next door to large mall and upscale shopping. Quick drive to grocery. Very nice property.

Lobby cold and would have been nice to have hot coffee available while waiting for room to be ready for check-in. Hotel layout is confusing and trying to find room not easy. Figured things finally after day 2 and ready to check-out. Property is older and a bit dated.

It was clean, nice, and quiet

Room was spacious and well decorated, hotel location was convenient, lobby was nice. However upon check in, we were met with a very rude staff member who mocked us, watched TV on his phone instead of tending to customers, and spoke very rudely throughout our interactions. We also saw him behave rudely to other customers and act in an angry and unprofessional manner for multiple days. Definitely surprising considering the restaurant staff, housekeepers, and late night/early morning front desk staff were very kind.
