Charming boutique hotel. Great service. Nice continental breakfast. Wine and cheese in the afternoon. We had a room with a fireplace. Highly recommended. Central location, walk to everything downtown.
- 5/5
One night stay right by the Downtown Mall.
- 3/5
Surprisingly small and dingy room for $320 a night. The landscaping is beautiful and the wine and cheese hour was nice. Overall, pretty mid for the price.
- 5/5
A really excellent place to stay. Room was very well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
Beautiful old inn in an excellent and convenient location. We got homemade cookies at checkin, wine and cheese in the evening, and an outstanding continental breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice! Great experience!

Charming, elegant old home with clean, well-appointed rooms. Kat, at the reception desk, was very welcoming, offereing us warm freshly baked cookies, Wonderful outdoor spaces to rest and contemplate. An easy walk to the Charlottesville Mall to dine and shop. We could nor have found a better place to stay.

It was a bit of heaven to finish our tour of Monticello and come "home" to the inn.
- 5/5
Gorgeous house, wine and cheese reception upon checking in, most comfy bed I’ve slept in at any hotel. Kind staff, easy parking (has their own lot). I would stay again!

Rooms are small but Clean, quaint, and comfortable. Loved eating breakfast and enjoying the wine/cheese happy hour on the beautiful wrap around porch. Overall great stay, would highly recommend!

Great location. We could walk to shopping and restaurants. Small but very comfortable room. Loved the ample continental breakfast and the wine and cheese offering every afternoon. We enjoyed sitting on the porches with our morning coffee. Would definitely stay here again. loved it !!

I almost don’t want to share this excellent experience- the staff, accommodations, delicious breakfast and surprise happy hour- every thing was exceptional!! My bed was extremely comfortable and my room - number 22- was immaculate!! Enjoyed it immensely and will absolutely stay here any time I’m in the area

Bilal and other hosts at front desk were super friendly. The smell of fresh baked goods for breakfast was amazing. Nice wine and cheese time in the evening. It really very nice!
- 4/5
Awakened by train so close we thought it was a plane crashing or an earthquake. Brought lots of laughter but not much sleep. Loved the proximity to downtown mall, great service, delicious foods for wine and cheese and for breakfast. Delicious cookies and fine accommodations.
- 5/5
Lovely people. A quiet street. Close to walk everywhere. Plus a little breakfast and wine/cheese. One of the best places to stay in Charlottesville.
- 5/5
There are fruit bowls from which you can help yourself, and wine and cheese in the evenings for the guests. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and juice and homemade granola and baked goods to name just a few things. The main shopping street, which has plenty of restaurants and bars, is just a 5 minute walk away. I will absolutely stay here again when I return.

Unique
- 5/5
Really nice Inn. The people were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We had a lovely getaway in Charlottesville with friends and 200 South Street in was exactly what we had hoped for. The public spaces were just right for our small group and the accommodations were convenient and very comfortable. The nearby outdoor mall is a great place to walk and for further destinations the trolly is close by and free! I loved the cookies when we arrived and the wine and cheese each evening. Lovely restaurant choices all around. Hope to return!
- 5/5
This is an excellent property in every respect if you desire a B and B in an older home. It is warm, cozy, inviting, and very comfortable. Free homemade cookies when you arrive. Easy access to everything. Very near the old town area. Hard to find anything to complain of. Had stayed here four times and thoroughly enjoyed every stay.
- 5/5
Great location and very helpful staff.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful and the location is perfect for enjoying downtown Charlottesville
- 5/5
Beautiful place with wonderful breakfast! Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Very welcoming, great location
- 4/5
Easy to park and within convenient walking distance of the central Charlottesville downtown mall. Room was nice, but not elaborate. The heat was adequate, but did not seem to be that adjustable. There was no heat in the bathroom, either in the wall or from the fan/light fixture in the ceiling. A train in the evening after 10 PM was long and loud and unexpected, but that was the only big problem. Our room, room 17 in the next door "cottage" shared a wall with the bathroom of the next door suite so we treated to squealing tub/shower noises late and early. A nice stay, but except for the location, I cannot say it was worth the cost.
- 5/5
The inn is quiet, charming, has a very tasty continental breakfast and the staff are friendly.
- 5/5
Our favorite place to stay in Charlottesville! Walking distance to our favorite spots…great breakfast and super friendly staff.
- 5/5
It was a perfect stop after a long drive. We were greeted with a friendly person, check-in couldn’t be easier, restaurants walking distance and a cozy comfortable room. We will be back.
- 5/5
A little noisy with police car sirens. But liked the train!!
- 4/5
We were in room 4 which is just below the kitchen and library. Starting at about 6am the walking back and forth over our heads as they prepared for breakfast was an unwelcome early wake up call.
- 4/5
Our stay at the South Street Inn was very nice. The place itself is a step back in time, and that was fun in itself! Freshly baked scones and coffee bread fill the air each morning, and were even better to eat! Location wise, very easy to walk to the downtown mall for breakfast lunch or dinner with some shopping available as well. I do wish there were some more filling breakfast foods, such as waffles or pancakes, and maybe some pre-packaged boiled eggs. The place was very nice, with two nostalgic libraries, where relaxation is almost impossible to avoid. Our room was very clean and welcoming as well! Very pleased and will certainly stay again when in the area!
- 5/5
Quaint. Safe. A real treat.
- 5/5
The staff was exceptional.
- 5/5
Loud freight train at night surprising to wake up to
- 5/5
The lodging was a beautiful period home. The room was nice. Plus, location, food, drink and shopping were in walkable distance.
- 5/5
Beatiful inn. Amazing staff and delicious fresh breakfast. The location is perfect.
- 5/5
Tesla chargers
- 5/5
Atmosphere, Breakfast, Evening Wine made the visit very enjoyable.
- 4/5
Great staff, beautiful grounds and clean!
- 5/5
Very nice room… loved the wine and cheese!
- 5/5
The freshly baked breakfast breads and scone were delicious with fruit , yogurt and granola. The wine and cheese in the afternoon provided time to relax on the porch.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff, beautiful back patio. Tasty breakfast options. Lovely wine and cheese hour.
- 5/5
The downtown mall is a block away. Lots of restaurant choices. We particularly loved the Charlottesville Artisans Shop, where we purchased a lovely framed photograph. The photographer happened to be in the shop when we were there! We'll be back!
- 5/5
Located near pedestrian mall. Wine and cheese selections top rate.
- 2/5
Breakfast and wine time good. We felt that for the cost we were staying in a room with used, dated and old furniture.
- 3/5
For $400 a night you can listen to the train right next to the inn pass by and enjoy the sound of people walking around above you. Location is good for walking to The Mall. Not so great for a good nights sleep.
- 4/5
Great location other than the noise from the train tracks and fire house. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Evening receptions were good (maybe offer a red wine too?). Breakfast was continental and a little lighter than other inns or B&Bs. Mattresses could use some work. Several guests commented that they were too firm or uncomfortable for their likings. Patio area and fireplace were really nice. Parking spaces were really tight.
- 5/5
Very pretty and in a nice spot. Quiet and friendly.
- 5/5
We will highly recommend this Inn 👌
- 5/5
Breakfast was ample and included a wide range of fruit and excellent pastries, and the evening wine and cheese presentation was a special treat. All contact with staff was friendly and accommodating. I’d gladly recommend 200 South Street Inn to any Charlottesville visitor.
- 5/5
Easy check in and out, convenient parking, cleanliness of room and all properties, close to restaurants and breweries, staff was very helpful
- 5/5
Very nice bed and breakfast in convenient location. Just one block walk to great restaurants and shopping in downtown Charlottesville. Staff added the personal touch that makes this lodging so much more interesting and enjoyable.
- 3/5
The place was disappointing....in dire need of paint, toilet was not working well, needed to ask for clean pillow cases, etc., no where to put toiletrues in bathroom, shower walls had some mold, all in all Id rate it 5 out of 10 ....will not stay there again.
- 5/5
great location and very nice old house
- 5/5
Very nice property. Friendly staff. Close to downtown mall and UVA campus. Will definitely book here again when in Charlottesville.
- 4/5
It was very clean the staff was great informed and room was ready on time
- 5/5
The staff is amazing!!!
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
The inn was very nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was an enjoyable stay.
- 5/5
We stayed on the top floor in a room that had character, was quiet, and so comfy. A wonderful experience.
- 5/5
Extra little touches like home baked cookies at check-in, wine and cheese, filtered water machine and a very nice breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade granola, good quality bread and baked goods. HVAC was old and noisy and the ground-level room, cut off from the main building, felt cold.
- 4/5
Breakfast is basically continental, and seating is very limited. The location of the property is excellent, and there is a lovely outdoor seating space.
- 5/5
This is a gem! Warm hospitality, charming rooms, wine and cheese, and the biggest surprise: electric car chargers with adapters.
- 3/5
The main strength is the location and how close to the pedestrian mall. The staff were not terribly welcoming. The staff at check-in showed us to our room which was nice. The morning check out staff barely spoke. We expected a little more southern hospitality from the staff.
- 4/5
The wine hour and patio area were very nice. The room (2) & bathroom are a bit outdated.
- 4/5
I arrived late but had called to let them know. Savannah had a cheese and cracker plate waiting for me with a glass of wine.
- 5/5
Excellent! Lovely Inn is situated in a fantastic location close to the walkable downtown, restaurants, breweries and the college.
- 5/5
Loved everything about the property and staff!!
- 5/5
Beautiful decorating
- 4/5
Our room was right under the common room where breakfast was served. So, a bit noisy in the morning, but we’re early risers. Overall, a delightful surprise. We would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Love the place, could use a mini fridge/microwave in the room though.
- 5/5
Loved the location and being able to get a suite so I used the bedroom and a friend could sleep in the living room and we had privacy. Great restaurants near by. Lovely buffet of continental breakfast and nice wine and cheese for happy hour. Staff wonderful.
- 5/5
Great location and close to good restaurants. Lovely setting for free breakfast and happy hour.
- 5/5
Enjoyed hospitality and Charlie and Hollis’s information.
- 5/5
They always take good care of you
- 5/5
Charlie, the manager is very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in every way! Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. The wine and cheese happy hour and the morning continental breakfast on the porch were great! Our room was charming and clean. The mattress was a little hard, but that is my only critic and others may think it is fine. We would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
The location was perfect. Easy walk to the mall. We were surprised that the breakfast was merely a buffet, similar to what is offered at a Hampton Inn. This is the first b&b we stayed in without a hot breakfast served. I’m sure the high price was for the location and little else.
- 5/5
Convenient location near UVA, beautiful historic inn, clean, delicious breakfast, superior service, quiet, comfy bed, this inn has it all.
- 4/5
The bed was very comfortable. I didn’t realize the breakfast was just continental (for the price), but it was a nice spread. I also didn’t know it butts up against active railroad tracks where trains pass by during the night. I can get right back to sleep, but I suppose others would want to know.
- 5/5
Lovely place and very close to the area’s “mall” of shops and restaurants.
- 5/5
Great location within walking distance to Charlottesville Mall. Awesome continental breakfast with fresh baked treats, fruit and coffee. Nothing to dislike about this property and will book again when going to Charlottesville.
- 5/5
This is a great property to stay at. It's a cozy inn that provides a classic feel with southern hospitality, and to top it off it's a block from the downtown mall. The staff is super friendly and is happy to give recommendations, they have a nice big porch to relax on, and they provide breakfast, happy hour with wine and cheese, and cookies/protein bars/fruit all for free.
- 5/5
The B&B was top notch. Location was excellent, everything was handled well.
- 5/5
Great location, super cute place, parking was easy! Breakfast was tasty and so were the cookies at reception. Highly recommend staying here if your visiting downtown Charlottesville.
- 5/5
Terrible terrible bed. This bb was a delight and my only complain was the bed. It physically hurt and I had to stretch it out and was tossing and turning so much in my sleep.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time, as always.
- 4/5
No heat in bathroom and sitting room. Heaters appeared to be broken. But we still enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Very Charming. Easy accessible to the downtown area. Staff was very helpful. Loved the complimentary Happy Hour. And very clean.
- 5/5
Fabulous continental breakfast with plenty of healthy options. And, the wine and cheese happy hour was an unexpected pleasure.
- 4/5
good walkable location
- 5/5
Great location. A fantastic change from the normal hotel experience. The two concierges were very personable and accomodating. They truly have thought of everything. The evening wine and cheese and the morning breakfast created a great social atmosphere with the other guests . I would highly recommend and will definitely stay here the next time i vivit C-Ville.
