However, some guests have complained about issues such as bed bugs, strange smells, and poor maintenance. Additionally, the hotel's parking situation and pricing have been criticized.

We needed a location near Loyola University. This was very close. The room was spacious and neat and the staff was very helpful with all of our needs. Will definitely stay here again.

clean hotel friendly staff. Contenential breakfast was gross; powered eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, muffins. Very few options. Paid $300 per night; I have paid 175 per night at other locations and had ALOT better food. My bed squeaked and rattled with little to no movement. I asked them to fix it and they didn't do it. I was there for 3 nights after I asked them. Otherwise it was fine. The roof of the hotel was a seating area where you can look out over the town.
- 4.5/5
Beds were surprisingly comfortable. AC was nice. Stairs only led to a fire exit so eve on the 2nd floor you had to use the elevator.
- 5/5
One complaint was that we had to pay $46 a night to park and they literally parked our vehicle right in front of the building and put cones around it.

Family and I came for a Cubs game and stayed at this property. It is a convenient location and there was a number of Cubs and the opponents fans staying here. Two blocks from a beach, plenty of food places and a number of stores to grab hotel snacks for the kids. Breakfast was very good. Roof top terrace was neat to sit and watch plane after plane go over and the workout center has everything a person needs. Rooms were super clean and the staff bent over backward to assist even taking our bags as we arrived very early and our room wasn’t ready yet. Overall a great experience and my wife a number of times mentioned how much she liked the place.

My son attended Loyola and this was a great location
- 4/5
As for our stay at Hampton Inn Chicago North, we were generally satisfied. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient for exploring the city and nearby attractions. However, breakfast was a major disappointment. The selection of food was very limited, and the quality was below what we expected from a hotel of this category. We were particularly disappointed by the use of paper and plastic tableware, which made the experience feel more like a roadside hostel than a hotel belonging to a well-known chain. We believe that the breakfast service is an area that could be significantly improved.

Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They kept a very clean lobby and the room was spotless as far as I could tell. The rooftop terrace is a neat touch. Also had a well stocked commissary. The valet crew were also very nice and punctual as well. I don't travel much but this was the best hotel I've stayed in. Thing is about the rooftop, however, is that they close it at 10 pm. I understand why, however after a long night it would've been nice to unwind and listen to Chicago at night. Appreciated every part of the provided breakfast besides the tasteless scrambled eggs. Also would like more options on the TV such as casting from my smart phone.

Then General cleaning every 2days as arranged right now. The above would be highly Hygienic. Thx.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely helpful, providing a wheelchair for elderly guest, and going out of their way to help on all assistance requested! Rooms were clean and breakfast was good.
- 4/5
I have no complaints. The area was awesome. The nearby beach was awesome and the room was real clean and the breakfast was good. But the rooftop was relaxing.
- 4/5
The size and comfort of the room and bathroom was great. It was clean and well maintained. I also had a good experience with check in. Also complimentary fruit 24/7 is a wonderful addition. Short walk to a couple of beaches with nice sand and lake views. Nothing stands out as being bad, although the AC unit being right by the desk wasn't the best placement.
- 5/5
This hotel is recently renovated. So it is very clean. Comfortable beds to sleep on. Also the staff are very polite and helpful. Very good complimentary breakfast.
- 5/5
Staff was attentive and friendly
- 5/5
This was our second time staying here and it was just as pleasant as the first. We ended up needing a last minute change in hotels and the staff was incredibly helpful with us needing to check in early. Very clean, good breakfast, and amazing staff. Walkable food options and right by the red line. Would stay again for sure!
- 4.5/5
Great location, very clean, breakfast was very good. Beds were a *little* stiff and uncomfortable. There was some sewage smell in one of the elevators, but it was temporary.

The staff was kind and the breakfast was really good! They have a 25/7 snack section but there was a cob web of pretty decent size by the food. But otherwise it was a great stay and that was of course a small issue. Oh! The tv remote was really slow.. probably needs to batteries, but again no major issues. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Great location too!

Great place to stay if visiting students at Loyola. Staff are super courteous. Will stay here again!

Really nice staff, clean & comfortable accommodations- plus, it’s super close to CTA and Loyola Marymount. Easy to walk around, with restaurants nearby.
- 5/5
This is a convenient, clean and safe spot that is just across the street from Loyola University (itself a lovely park-like campus to walk around in and enjoy its lakeside location). The staff is great and there is a Chipotle across the small street that the hotel is on -- they also have a nice free breakfast buffet every morning, fresh fruit and coffee around the clock and a small "mini mart" right next to the check-in desk. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the location is only a short walk (a short block) from the Loyola El station. Could not be more convenient!
- 5/5
Breakfast was fresh rooms were clean.
- 5/5
The breakfast meat choices were not very appealing. And the utensil for the potatoes needs to be changed to a large spoon.
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times. The staff is always helpful. The rooms are clean. The breakfast has a good variety of options
- 5/5
The king suite was fantastic. No complaints.

We had a very comfortable stay. We weren't there long, but would stay there again.
- 5/5
The staff was nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Would stay there again for sure if we are in that area of Chicago !
- 5/5
Comfortable beds, good breakfast ( eggs and sausages - stayed 1 night ) - extra fee for the valet ( vicinity has difficulty to find parking on your own ) - very close to Loyola university and worthwhile staying for an Aragon Ballroom event and with lots of restaurants to choose from on the street of N Broadway.
- 4/5
Its ok that way

Everything was great except for the parking situation but other than that room was great
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast

Staff very nice and helpful. Valet service was great. Room was nice and clean.

Love this hotel! And it just got upgraded: new furniture including mattresses, artwork etc. It’s in a great location, staff is always so friendly, breakfast is good, and now the beds are super comfy!
- 5/5
I had a great experience during my stay! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. And the complementary breakfast was fantastic. I will definitely be staying with them again in the future!
- 5/5
We love this location! Best service family atmosphere. Close to the loop.
- 4/5
Needed laundry in hotel. Cleaning only done every other day unless you ask. Staff nice.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great, with a lot of variety. The egg dishes changed daily, which was nice. Valet parking, so I didn't have to worry about my car at all.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean, the staff was very friendly! Breakfast is super basic, and you have to make your own waffles, but the machines to make them are easy to use.
- 5/5
Staff was exceptional, always stopped what they were doing to greet us as we were coming and going. They took the time to talk to us about ice cream shop recommendations. Breakfast was good! Breakfast server was so friendly. The elevator broke as we were leaving but all else was great!
- 5/5
Clean and friendly staff!
- 3/5
I was very surprised that the breakfast was served on paper plates and the glasses and cutlery were plastic. There was no proper recycling facilities in place either.
- 5/5
Claire and Carlos at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and the location is outstanding for visiting the surrounding neighborhoods. Train station is 5mins away if you need to get downtown.
- 5/5
Parking sucks. Valet is $46.
- 4/5
The hotel is great, reasonably priced, bed is super comfortable, but the construction on the fifth floor started too early in the morning and though I finally had an opportunity to sleep in, the hammering started and drilled etc at 6 am.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff were kind and helpful, breakfast had good options. Walls are thin and I was kept up by a couple fighting in the next room.
- 5/5
Nicest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. Very well managed. Clean. Nicely appointed common areas. Accommodating staff. Would absolutely return.
- 5/5
I won’t stay at any other place when I visit to Loyola! Carlos is a gem!

- 3/5
Staff not very friendly
- 5/5
the room was clean and the staff was friendly and professional
- 5/5
The housekeeping staff the front desk staff were very courteous. The room was very nice. Maya,Matisa,Claire, Carlos, Reena and all of the housekeeping staff were wonderful. I wish there was a swimming pool. I also wish that valet parking would not block the driveway, to the hotel. My daughter could not drop my grandchildren off in front of the door because the valet staff had both sides of the driveway blocked unnecessarily. She had to back out of the driveway to leave. I was told that this is a common issue. The breakfast was ok. The sausage on the first day was delicious but the next two days, it was terrible. It would have been nice to have almond milk for those of us who drink regular milk. I enjoyed the oatmeal and pretty much everything else.
- 5/5
Carlos is wonderful. Room was clean and comfy.
- 5/5
Room was super clean, as was the bathroom. Front lobby staff always cheerful and helpful. Love the breakfast! So many choices!

Room was very clean. Staff was great. Breakfast was good with hot choices and plenty of seating. Enjoyed the lobby area with complimentary coffee and fruit by the fireside late in the day. Starbucks and several eateries right around the corner. Easy walk to the Red Line Loyola station. Used valet parking which was very helpful.

We were in town to attend Loyola Universities new student tour. This hotel is conveniently located. We were pleasantly surprised with staff, cleanliness and comfort of this hotel. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Parking is a little difficult, so we used the valet service (quite pricey). Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Loved that coffee/hot water/fruit were available all day in addition to breakfast
- 5/5
The room was in great shape, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent. What more could one want?
- 5/5
Nice clean and great staff
- 4/5
The lobby looks beautiful with the fireplace and Christmas trees, the room was nice with a nice sized bath with hot water. The free breakfast was delicious 😋. Loved the mini churro waffle, eggs and potatoes. The staff are all very friendly, giving my daughter and I great experience that wasn't going so well.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and lots of things to do close by.
- 5/5
I arrived early in the day, expecting to have my bag stored, but they were able to get me my room. Very pleasant desk staff, very clean, and good breakfast.
- 5/5
Room was great and extremely clean.

- 5/5
The room and common areas were great, and the staff across the board were remarkably friendly and helpful. But the real highlight of the hotel is all of the great food within walking distance: Thai, Cambodian, Ethiopian... amazing.
- 5/5
Spotless room, courteous staff, very good fitness center
- 5/5
This was such a great hotel - clean, great helpful staff and nice breakfast options as always w Hampton. The perfect location to visit Loyola

- 5/5
Staff were super helpful and it had a lovely relaxed atmosphere
- 5/5
Very walkable around there.
- 3/5
Just average
- 5/5
Great place. Will stay there again.
- 5/5
Everything was good except I don’t understand them wanting to charge $75 for early check in. If the room is ready, what difference does it make. This is pure greed. The room cists enough as it is.
- 5/5
Maja was amazing! So helpful!
- 3/5
The woman working the night shift at the front desk on Halloween (shaved head; didn't catch her name) was less than hospitable - not what you'd expect from a hospitality employee. She was outwardly rude to several guests (not just in my party), and she made it very clear that she was upset that she had to work on Halloween. She made us feel uncomfortable to ask for any assistance. It was strange to feel like a burden after spending hundreds of dollars for a one-night stay. I probably won't visit this hotel again.
- 5/5
Check in was smooth and the staff were amazing.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 4/5
Enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel.
- 5/5
Yes excellent
- 5/5
The room was spacious, especially the bathroom. The vanity area was big enough for 4 people to comfortably store and place toiletries. The staff was so friendly and kind. The hotel is very clean. There were plenty of outlets and the beds were very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the rooftop terrace. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown too!
- 5/5
Huge breakfasts, very friendly staff, very clean room and bathroom. Refrigerator and coffee maker terrific. Wonderful that it's 3 blocks from Lake Michigan and a small beach. Homeless men hanging out near the hotel was uncomfortable, but that's life in the city!
- 5/5
I stayed at this hotel to be close to The Riviera for a concert. It was a fantastic location, a really nice hotel, and a killer deal ($)! I’ll definitely be staying here anytime I come to Chicago.
- 4/5
Breakfast menu was fresh. Thoughtful staff. Conveniently located. Bed were not queen but more like double. My legs fell off the end lol. New mattress needed. Back hurt in morning.
- 5/5
Parking is too expensive! Especially this far from downtown.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff, good breakfast
- 4/5
First night of 2 night reservation the A/C unit began making screeching noise at 2 am and off and on multiple times. Called front desk at 730 am and they found me a different room and no further issues. Shared video of noise with gal at front desk. Nice staff and the breakfast is nice too especially the waffle maker!!
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. I did have trouble checking in because the credit card scanner wouldn’t accept any of my cards and it took a long time to get our room.
- 5/5
Friendly, professional staff members were very helpful. Check-in was easy and quick.
- 2/5
They took me to another room in that room was basic but OK. I was charged the $150 fee three times in my checking account which made several things in that account bounce because that was my account that I just kept my little extras on and it took several days for me to get my money back from the bank that was the holding fee. I was extremely disappointed by that
- 5/5
Very nice hotel in a nice part of town
- 5/5
Everything is well done at this property!
- 4/5
Great location 1.5 blocks from red line. Restraints near by. Was surprised by the $46 additional parking fee per night

- 5/5

Hotel was in ideal location - close and convenient to everything. Area is walkable with lots of food options. Beautiful area. A little pricey though
- 5/5
My friend and I enjoyed our visit
- 4/5
There were some cleanliness issues but the staff and management handled the situation well. They fixed the issues and were kind, professional, and accommodating. Mistakes happen, it’s how the mistakes are handled that makes the difference.
- 5/5
I paid a crazy rate $400+ because a last minute booking. Staff was helpful. Room was modest but clean. And the hotel was pleasantly quiet!
- 2/5
Dirty rooms, dirty showers, loud and banging noises all night
- 5/5
Recommended hotel for activities around the area especially if going to the Aragon Ballroom. Staff is always friendly and there for any help.

The pillows on the bed were terrible in both rooms. We had it was hard to get to sleep, and there were some whining noise coming from our air conditioner. Will kept you up a little bit and they won’t let me park my pick up in their back lot parking garage two blocks away. I went put in at all because it was too skinny. I don’t think I’d be coming back to this place.

Rooms were very nice, nice area with plenty of food options nearby. Very happy with our stay.
- 5/5
The staff here is always incredibly friendly and they all seem happy! Which means it's a good place to work, therefore a good place to stay. The breakfast is always good with many choices and it's only a 5 minute walk to a beach and a 5 minute walk to the redline! The hotel has been clean and the rooms comfortable every time I stay there.

- 5/5
Nice place!
- 5/5
Parking is a bit of a challenge - otherwise great hotel!
- 4/5
The only thing we did not like was the food area has fruit flies and mosquitoes…
- 5/5
The property was is well located near transportation. I was in town to visit Wrigley Field and it helped having transportation nearby. Also it was cool being so close to Lake Michigan. I would definitely recommend this property.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, convenient to some good food options.
- 5/5
Ok

Staff were all hospitable and friendly.
- 5/5
No parking and the it was super expensive the valet...
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 5/5
Rooms are great size, great amenities, and clean. Service was really good, except the valet fell asleep. We arrived very late at night so kind of understandable but Messi
- 4/5
Good location near train. Clean, friendly staff, decent breakfast.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great each morning. I was not a fan of the parking arrangements although they are fast I prefer to not have my car parked valet where I don’t have access to it 24/7
- 5/5
Just stayed for one night to go to a baseball game. The staff was very friendly and helped us with the best way to get to the game. The hotel was in a great location within walking distance to the beach. It was also very clean. Had a great stay!
- 4/5
Pretty much mandatory valet parking at $50 per night. Not good.
- 4/5
Overall good
- 4/5

- 5/5
I greatly appreciated my stay and the breakfast provided.
- 5/5

The front desk staff were amazing, very helpful, and engaging. Parking was a bit of a problem, but we made it work
- 5/5
Nice hotel that was built around 2018. Very clean and well-maintained. Great location close to public transit and eating places. Parking is overpriced at near $50 a day. The complementary breakfast was good and plentiful. Overall good experience and I probably would stay again.
- 1/5
The hotel manager gave us hotel points (equivalent to less than one night stay) and argued that this would be enough given that they cleaned the room during our stay. Of course we only stayed that first, and did not get compensated for the other nights.
- 5/5
Great location, and ease to public transportation
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. Great staff
- 4/5
The valet parking team was great.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 4/5
Always clean and nice front desk team
- 4/5
It was quiet and clean
- 4/5
Great location. Excellent front desk staff. Room wasn’t ready when I arrived (4:30 PM) but front desk was apologetic. Never saw housekeeping - hoping that they would have at least taken the garbage out. For nearly $400 a night, they could have at least done that.
- 5/5
I had to make a super last-minute booking for a few days for work and was lucky enough to get a room here! It was a nice quiet location, very clean, and secured building. I was comfortable for my whole stay and the breakfast every morning was a wonderful additional detail.
- 5/5
Although expensive, the valet was great. Breakfast option was super. When I went to check out though there was no coffee. (4am)
- 5/5
Had an amazing time loved the valet service and breakfast!
- 5/5
Good breakfast kind staff
- 5/5
This location has a very friendly staff!
- 5/5
Perfect place for a Loyola of Chicago parent
- 5/5
Clean rooms nice breakfast awesome staff suggestion how about 2-3-4 fire pits on the rooftop seating area? It is chilly cold up there even first of June

We have stayed here before and loved it, and chose it again. Convenient location near the red line train. Friendly helpful service. Clean rooms. Great hot breakfast with a nice variety! Also fruit, yogurt, and bran cereal when you want to be healthy. Love the complimentary 24/7 self-serve tea and coffee station. Hot herbal tea is nice after coming back from a chilly Chicago evening walk. On site parking is expensive, as it is at any similar hotel, but a convenient cheaper parking garage is around the corner. Good restaurants and stores nearby. The Cambodian restaurant next door is great, and they gave us a discount when we said we were staying at the Hampton next door.

Gerard was fantastic when we checked in about explaining how to manage the train which was 1 block away. Reena was AMAZING greeting us every day with a smile, conversation, advice about the area and taking care of any need!! And although i cant recall the exact spelling of her name, Mayla was terrific over the weekend with her food advice of Drippin Bites for burgers and Greek food close by. She also made sure Sunday and Monday stay was fun and eventful!!! Such a great location and STAFF!!! Have traveled for work for years and rarely get to stay for pleasure, this was the best staff ive ever encountered!!!

What makes this hotel amazing is the service! Better than any 5 star hotel I have stayed at. The rooms ate Hampton but the front desk is Four Seasons.

Expensive for a very average stay

Stay was fine accept room prices inflated due to Loyola graduation.

Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Valet parking is convenient. The one goofy issue concerns a treadmill in the hotel gym, which has made a horrible noise since I have been staying here (intermittently since 2022). Please either fix the motor or replace the treadmill. It is on the left as one walks into the gym. Thanks.

Carlos who works there was a great helper every day I had questions for him!

Wonderful stay. Despite being near the train I never heard it. Very quiet, clean, modern, and a good breakfast included

Clean room and convenient location. Staff was mostly friendly and breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast food, but really well stocked and quite good. 4 night stay and my only complaints were I had to call front desk after the 3rd night to get housekeeping to restock clean towels and toiletries, and bedsheets. AND that, other than valet parking @ $46 per day, this hotel has no free parking.
