Nice room air conditioner didn’t work besides that I’ll come again ac gotta work this time

Made a non-refundable, pre-paid 2 nights booking that was scheduled a few weeks out. I called the Hercor desk that morning of check-in to advise of an urgent inability to travel, but since the reservation was pre-paid/non-refundable I would offer my room to another of the traveling family. The front desk said I needed to go through my Expedia booking to advise whom would use my booking. Okay, I said, I can do that. Sent the message through Expedia to advise the name who would use the 2nd night of my booking, and followed up with a call to the front desk. The clerk told me that my reservation had been canceled for ‘no show’. What? I had said I called the previous day to advise, and followed the instructions given. The clerk refused, unwilling to made amends or re-open the booking to use the room that I had already paid for. I kindly asked she push my request up for review/approval, but did not hear back. I called Expedia on that cancellation, they too called the hotel. Expedia said I needed to call the hotel directly and ask for the manager, after the holiday. I did that, and yet still no response, or any sort of acknowledgement. I am not looking for a refund, only a little kindness and empathy for helping travelers in need. I suppose when they already have your money, they don’t have to care.

Updated rooms. Friendly helpful staff, water pressure was nice in shower, clean rooms, parked had a gate so felt a little safer that way. Beds were uncomfortable, no fridge in room, location could be a problem-numerous homeless people around.

My reservation came with VIP status, which offered a $26 hotel credit that covered breakfast. The breakfast was very good! Eggs, potatoes, bacon, yogurt, bread, juice.

Room next to us were having a party blasting music from 12 noon until 9am in the morning, guest coming in and out slamming doors and being extremely loud. Even though hotel policy says they well NOT tolerate parties after 10pm management did nothing to put an end to it. The cleanliness of room was ok however there was thick dust on lighting fixtures and mold on grout in shower. Me and my family who includes a child were not comfortable and well not stay agin. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel as family friendly.

It was clean and well lit.

A/C remote did not work, so temperature could not be changed. There was no hot water, so had to take a cold shower.

Easy check in/out. I really like the location because of the surrounding options for food. The only request I would make is it have more than one way into your room. I was on the third floor rear side of the building and the only way to access my floor is through the lobby.

All was great, quiet and clean Would have lived a small refrigerator in my room the rest was picture perfect. On Sundays breakfast is at 7. Had ealy flight could not eat there. But the day I ate it was like a fine restaurant in the service department. It had good food choices not just cereal or juice.

For the price, it’s ok. Be careful if you are sensitive to sound. You can hear people scream or traffic on the main street. You can also hear upstairs’ sound.

Exactly what I want from a budget hotel- clean room comfortable bed and great shower - breakfast was not fancy but had all the elements I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful no glitz not the Ritz but great for the price.

Light switches were broken and lights bulbs were dead. The air conditioner had a hammering sound that woke me up repeatedly at night. Not likely to return.

The room was clean and well maintained, beds were soft pillows were fluffed, but the insulation and sound proofing was extremely lacking. I could hear everything especially from our upstairs neighbors, including all their uses in the…cough… bathroom. I could hear the conversations of those walking by the room as is they were in the room, every car passing every door closing, including the person who left the alarm clock set for 5 am but was no longer in the room next door. After ten minutes of it going off I finally called the front desk to get one of them to turn it off. For such a beautiful room, I got no sleep. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to choose a different place, but for the heavy sleepers, this place will be great!

Staff was friendly, this place is well-kept considering the location. Happy that is was clean and smelled fresh. Bathroom was clean. Only thing is that wi-fi is a little spotty, the TV barely works when trying to watch a movie.

The front desk young employees were amazing. They treated us with respect and huge courtesy. They gave us some tips about the area and points of interest. Alfo the lady who takes care of the breakfast area was customer service focus👍 I definitely recommend this hotel.

Clean room and the breakfast attendant on the 2nd floor made us feel welcomed and at home which is rare to find at a hotel these days.

The staff was super friendly but unfortunately there is way too much noise at night with all the traffic. Also, parking is very limited but other than that the stay was good and staff was also so kind especially the man and woman who have their shift at night, they always asked how my day had gone and offered a bottle of water.

My room was clean, staff members were friendly, parking was simple. Hotel is located super close to shuttle stop that takes you to the Gaylord Pacific Convention Center. I do recommend renting a car if you plan to visit nearby attractions. It’s easy to hop on the highway and get anywhere you want to go. The 7/11 store next door and nearby fast food joints were convenient.

Staff were always polite and helpful. There was some confusion on my part about how many breakfasts were included in the stay. The breakfast was fine when free but at $13.50, it was not a great value. Room temperature was locked at an uncomfortably high temperature. No one would change it or unlock the thermostat. The room is small but well designed. Fixtures and furniture are modern and functional. This was my second stay. I think it a good value and will return.

From the outside i thought it was not going to be a place i would come back to, but ibwas pleasantly surprised how clean and neat the inside and rooms were. Bathrooms were spotless...beads comfortable...free breakfast was fantastic. Ok...its not the Gaylord.. but for less than half the price well worth it. Also, the taco restaurant across the street was amazing!

Amazing stay!!! The room was always cleaned, linen and sheets smelled fresh, to include the little details. For example the toilet paper had a flower shaped into it. Showed me that whoever they have hired, takes pride in what they do. Over all, a very clean, well maintained hotel. Worth every cent. One last note, the room for some reason, maybe it’s the set up, the Cleanliness etc,. But it felt comfortable and very homie. Thank you for the stay!

The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is small, but the bathroom is generous. I experienced some small issues but the staff corrected them. It's within a half mile of the water and the N/S trolley is close. Restaurants arr some distance away but for $125 a night in San Diego? They did a good job. It's clean and quiet.

This is a smaller place than I typically stay, but I would definitely stay here again. The staff is friendly, the rooms are a bit small, but very well designed and decorated. Breakfast was great and the parking lot is under camera surveillance. Tacos El Gordo is close by make sure to try it for dinner if you stay here. 10/10!

I had a one-star experience at this hotel. From the moment we checked in, the staff was unhelpful and inattentive. The room was cramped, with a tiny bed that was uncomfortable to sleep in. On top of that, they charged extra for breakfast, which was not worth the cost at all. The worst part was that we were never informed about this breakfast charge at check-in. Overall, a very disappointing stay, and I would not recommend it.

Bed was comfortable but there was noise till 2 in the morning. Clearly some prostitution going on from the sounds.

Free breakfast was ok the chef is nice. However the room smelled, and it was super noisy. There were people doing yard work the whole morning and didn’t let me sleep. Also one of the people staying in the room next to us broke their glass bathroom door, we were able to hear it through the walls. And the hotel staff came banging on my door and wouldn’t believe me when I told them it wasn’t my room it was the room next door. She asked “how do you know?” And I said “because I heard it” she should have checked their room before questioning me and doubting the answer I gave her.

Check in was easy they even let us park early. Too many downsides to the stay. First all our 3 full days were supposed to come w $26 credit. Only 2 were. Also why even have $26 for room if one person books the room? Nothing is 26$. It's $10. So missing out on credits. Secondly, we walked in they were replacing the water heater .. not sure if they did end up swapping by the time we left because the water was freezing! The rooms are small and compact, no fridge but there a microwave downstairs. The bed creaked anytime sat and I'm a small female. I had 2 rooms reserved. One for me and one for my best friend. During her 2nd day she went to go shower and the glass shower BROKE when she barely closed the door. They took their sweet time to come help her! She was walking around in her blanket. It's ridiculous how that was handled. She remained calm and didn't escalate it. But I feel she was not treated correctly. She had gashes on her body! We had to cancel our plans to go swimming because her open deep wounds. And just lastly, the noise around the neighborhood is really loud. The rooms u can hear everything going on in the rooms next door.

Unfortunately, I ended up leaving two days early. The room faces the main road and being a motel, the door and window open to the outside. This was a problem because it did little to block out traffic noise, which included frequent sounds of squealing tires, revving engines, and emergency sirens. I barely slept the first night due to the traffic noise and the really uncomfortable bed. Next, the air conditioning in the room didn’t work well and the room always felt damp and clammy. When I tried to take a nice hot shower, all I got was lukewarm water. When I made coffee, the Nespresso machine was full of used pods. The final factor for me was a loud dispute at the hotel. I had heard people yelling outside at random times, but this time was different. I heard loud blood-curdling screams from a woman outside followed by arguing. This went on for a while and then the police showed up banging on doors. Following that mess, I decided to bail and get a place across town.

Everything was perfect. I need to stay an extra day or two in San Diego and I'll be staying here again.

Really nice hotel with contemporary decor and super friendly staff. Spotless and comfortable. Tons of restaurants and stores within a few blocks walking. Only bummer was the WiFi, which was intermittent and mostly unreliable. Also TV was streaming-only so I couldn't watch football on Sunday. I look forward to staying here again when I visit CV.

The sheets were washed in some type of detergent that caused a serious skin reaction on me. I also was bit by a spider in two places before my husband killed it. More towels and pillows were not given when asked for from cleaning lady. Loved the hard water pressure. Felt great!

Dirty! Do not stay here! The comforter had stains and the pillow had black hairs on it. I went to Walmart and bought my own. The ac barely worked and the shower wouldn't turn off completely. We only stayed one night and would have changed hotels but it was prepaid.

It was mostly fine, and based on prior reviews, not a recurring issue, but the bedspread wasn’t very clean, there was sand in the sheets, and the ceiling was leaking. The walls are pretty thin, and we were woken up by a phone call at almost midnight due to a wrongfully accused noise complaint, which should have been investigated first before calling. (Had they gone to check first, it would’ve been obvious that it wasn’t us.) Otherwise it was close to the train and convenient for our needs. The bathroom was pretty nice and unique!

The overall property is moderate and meets the expectations for a flash trip, the area is small and parking is a bit limited but like mentioned it is moderate. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

The bed was way too soft and too low. The bathroom has glass doors. There is a curtain that only goes across half the room wall. So at night a light in bathroom can be seen in rest of room. The windows have shutters that don’t close all the way. The thermostat is difficult to use. It likes to hold a temperature at random times. Will turn off heat or AC. No coffee in lobby as manual in room states. Espresso machine in room was difficult to use. No coffee machine in room.

the staff was great The room and hotel was overall clean. The room had a few minor issues like light bulbs being burnt out and decor being broken. The internet was spotty at best. Had to use my hotspot to use my laptop.

While the facility could use some modern updates, the friendly staff and clean rooms made for a pleasant stay.

Great affordable place to stay in San Diego! The hotel itself seems like an older building, but the rooms are nicely updated and very comfortable! Our bed was great, loved the big shower, and the hot breakfast in the morning was nice. The room is small but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyways besides sleeping and showering, so it was everything we needed for a few nights. Would stay here again!

The room is beautiful, but walls are very thin. The bed almost sucks you in the second you sit on it- very, very soft. But my room had issues with the sink spewing dirt or sand(?) Constantly. And with that came ants. There were ants in the bathroom around the sink and the desk by the tv. Staff seemed a bit dismissive of the issue. Cute idea, poor execution.

This hotel was not represented properly. The smell was awful to the point where I developed a head ache and did not stay there. Blinds broken, air not working, air freshner plug in was in rooms,etc. This did not make the smell better.

Shower door missing! No curtains …and the staff doesn’t care about the feedback…

This morning i called and housekeeping came and sprayed however, after getting back into bed, ants were in the bed. Ww decided to leave earlier than expected so we were getting dress and we found ants in our belongings and on our clothes.

AC is a mounted unit with no remote control. Room itself is nice but the outside of the property is not great

Overall had a great stay. My only complain was that the bed was very squeaky even with minimal movement. But other than that everything else was great.

I booked the hotel in December and now the price was extremely down , i paid $110 and today and ebtire week was $72.-79. I would appreciate to take in consideration and refund part of. The amount. Hotel was super cute and clean! Free champagne as we checked in and even got checked in earlier than the expected time . Had a bunch of options for breakfast as well.

Awesome as always!

The property was fairly nice and close to the commuter rail line and not far from shopping. The room was nice and clean, but the lighting was inadequate. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy.

This is a lovely hotel, rooms were very modern and clean; had a great shower and cookies on demand! The fact that you can have late check-out until 2pm was probably the best part, next to the low price. Would have extended our stay another night if they weren’t already sold out. Only complaint is the lack of a refrigerator and microwave in the room. But the Mexican spot across the street has killer tacos. 🤘 will be back soon!

It was an overnight stay but super clean quick check in bed was a little small but it made up for it in comfort

That said, the hotel was spotless — the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkling clean. I personally loved that there was no tub-style shower; everything seemed new and well-maintained. Check-in and check-out were also very easy.

The surroundings were a little hood but the actual hotel was very nice, modern and very clean.

Falling smoke detector from ceiling, some outlets not working, bed making noise when I turn and I only weight 135 pounds, woke up in 3am due to car speeding up on the road, room too small, hallway gives a feel of rundown place. Not much space in reception. Surprised that it is a VIP preferred in expedia.

Staff was amazing. Room was a little musty, no airflow, and needed hotter water.

Beautiful rooms

I like how it was in a convenient area going to downtown San Diego. The staff was also very nice an accommodating when we had issues with our first room. It's great that they had toiletries
