La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbia NE/Fort Jackson

Shower had some hair on the pan from previous guests and one nightstand light was broken. Those are the only things we could be constructive with. Great property and great price. Will use again

The hotel was very clean, however we booked the room because of the location to Fort Jackson and it had a pool. The pool however was not open until late Thursday afternoon. That was really disappointing since the weather was very nice at 85 degrees. If we were informed that the pool was not working we would have found another hotel for our stay

I booked this particular hotel because it had an outdoor pool and it was close to Fort Jackson. Upon arriving, we found out the pool wasn't operating, yet I didn't see anyone working on it. I arrived on Tuesday, leaving Friday morning. I was there for my daughter's graduation from Fort Jackson boot camp. I learned Thursday afternoon that it was open. It was a little suspicious that once the hotel wasn't booked solid and alot of the guests had left Thursday that it was ok to use the pool. Very disappointing.

The pictures make it look better than it truly is. The room was gross and breakfast was either not served or served far later than stated. Bloodstains in the hotel room. Coffee machine didn’t work.

There was a weird sound like a cricket when we slept and couldn’t figure out the source. The shower also made a weird noise equivalent to a cow bell. Mini fridge and microwave could have been cleaned better. They provide you with two small waste baskets but there should be another placed by the sink. Toilet paper dispenser placed at an awkward height.

I was in room 326 , May 22 to May 23 and there was a sex toy left from a last view. I was shocked because a visitor child brought it to our attention. Her hands was washed with a quickness!!! If room service cleaned they would have seen that. I did touch or removed. But that was very unprofessional and disgusting!!

Nothing to be honest. The room was dirty. The sheets weren’t changed, there was a giant blob of hair on the sheets on the bed under the covers. The tiles were broken in the bathroom and was causing all of us to slip getting in and out of the shower. The rack hanging on the wall was broken and did not hold any weight for the towels. The hotel and rooms smelled awful and the list honestly goes on. The breakfast was days old and was reheated several times days prior. The front desk staff was rude and spent half our check in time arguing with me over absolutely nothing to include the fact they were annoyed we were checking in at 730pm and called to see where we were on two different occasions. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.

We stayed here a couple years ago and it’s definitely gone downhill. The breakfast is not good. There were a lot of issues checking in and with the front desk. Not sure what happened but used to be decent.

Shower water pressure was Extremely low and was ridiculous. I said something to the front desk and they said that it was probably due to others taking a shower at the same time. I told them I showered before 5am and didn’t think everyone was showering at that time. The amount of water was literally dripping out with no pressure at all.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the property was well maintained, the breakfast was tasty and the staff was friendly and very helpful.

I’m not sure what the cleaning staff use to clean hardwood floor on a first floor room, but the smell was so strong and toxic, my wife barely slept after a 15 hr drive. I had nothing but good things to say after last year’s stay but this was just a bad experience. In hindsight, should have asked for another room but thought opening window would help and it didn’t. Might be trying another hotel next year

We came for our son’s graduation from Basic Training at Fort Jackson. The hotel was an average rating. It was close, mostly clean, and we did have a breakfast. So it served its purpose. However, the main light for the room was broken and we were told they really couldn’t fix it because it was a circuit issue. There were exposed wires where the sconce light by the bed was. They didn’t want to fix that because they said it gets broken all the time. When we were getting ready at 5:30 am the day of graduation the lights in the bathroom section went out. So we finished getting ready in the dark but when we came back they had fixed the breaker! We left “Maid Service” on our door- but no vacuuming or cleaning was done, just new towels and made bed.

Breakfast menu could be better. No orange juice, it’s either Tang or Sunny D. Not quite four star amenities, in my opinion.

The iron did not work and there was no ironing board. Called downstairs to report it and no one answered the phone. We had to use our cell phone to get through. Explained the iron and phone wasn’t working. We were given a second iron and that didn’t work either. We had to go downstairs to get a third iron. The bathroom tub was also not cleaned properly. The staff was not rude. It’s just that for approximately $200 for one night, this was too much to be doing after driving to the destination in itself.

Front desk person was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic. Coffee not very good, tea not ready available, basic selection. Carpet needed cleaning……our feet were dirty after walking on it. Good restaurant choices within walking distance.

I love my stay

The staff was friendly and responsive. They went above and beyond with fresh towels, extra pillow, even making the bed daily, which we weren’t expecting. The only weak point was the breakfast, which didn’t provide enough options for our taste, such as oatmeal or raisin bran. No fat-free milk or yogurt. The baked items could have been a bit fresher. But we can’t knock them too much for that when they did everything else right! The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked great. Even the layout of the room lent itself to a more comfortable stay than some of the other upscale hotels we’ve stayed at.

We got to the hotel around 1am after a long road trip with my toddler. The man working at the front desk (I wish I had gotten his name) made me feel so welcome, he was so kind and courteous. I really appreciated his wonderful customer service. Thank you! And the bed was super cozy!

Ten minutes from Fort Jackson. Very clean place and safe here. The staff are very nice and customer service was fantastic. Free breakfast was very good with waffle irons, biscuits and gravy, sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, fruits, toast/bagels/muffins/danish, cereals, yogurts, juices, milk, coffee. Fitness center has treadmills, elliptical, medicine balls and a nice cable machine. The rooms are very clean and updated. Parking lot feels safe and well lit. Very good location close to 26 and many stores and restaurants.

Our room was clean, but the bathroom floor needs a deep cleaning, as it seemed stained. The mattress wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t offer tons of support either. The amenities were nice and I liked having a refrigerator in our room, along with updated alarm clock and nice fixtures. Everything worked as it should. The staff was friendly and check-in was efficient. The parking lot and lobby are clean. The rooms must have thin walls because sound carries and we could hear conversation and people in the halls. We used a sound machine that we brought and were able to sleep, but without it would have probably been a challenge, due to the ability to hear hallway activity. The breakfast was average, at best, but there was an attendee that kept things stocked and clean. The location is reasonably convenient and we liked having a Waffle House next door for a quick dinner. For the price point, this hotel is what we expected and reasonable.

Staff was very nice, water pressure in tub wasn’t the greatest and there was a huge roach that was in the shower. The staff did ask if we wanted to change rooms but we had too much stuff to move and we were leaving the next day.

My only “negatives“ were no bars to get in and out of the tub/shower and the 2/3 shampoo/soap container holders were broken. Definitely not a dealbreaker as at least the supplies were there, and the staff seemed to be receptive to the feedback.

I made a mistake on the original reservation by getting the date wrong. I tried to correct the date within 10 minutes. The desk representative insisted that I still pay for the mistaken dated and the corrected date. So I was billed for two reservations even though I only stayed one night. I requested to speak to the manager several times but the manager would never talk to me. Not customer friendly.

The room & bathroom were clean & comfortable. The shade on the window was stuck in the down position. When I was drying my hair in the morning, I blew a fuse resulting in no power in the sink area or the bathroom. We could not reset it. I told the man at checkout about it and he appeared to go up right away to check it out.

We stayed here to attend our son’s basic training graduation . The hotel and room was very clean and had a wonderful atmosphere. They served a full breakfast and located next to Waffle House and Chick fil A. It was also close to everything.

The room was okay - the "auto" AC did not work that well - and the carpet was grody - so I had to keep my shoes on. The hallways and lobby were not much different than the 2 star hotel I had to leave that same night. I was really surprised that this place was a LaQuinta - especially for the price. It cost more than I usually pay for LaQuinta - but it was nowhere near the quality of a regular LaQuinta. I guess the hotels in the area were all such low quality - because they were near the Ft. Jackson military base - and they get a lot of use? - from lower income military members? - I don't know - but at least the room did not smell bad. Next time I'll pay the extra to stay on a decent hotel

Bathroom in room 235 dirty. I booked an accessible because I use a wheelchair and need bars in bathroom to shower and use toilet. Didn't get an accessible room. They had all been given out. Unable to receive receipt for the $100 cash i left for incidentals. Ice was only accessible on 3rd floor but sign said 1st & 3rd. I was wondering hotel

The room was very good, the staff was very helpful and curious. Our only issue was the walls are so thin that other guest could be clearly heard in the hallway and adjacent rooms keeping us awake, we were so tried the next day from lack of sleep.

The staff was so nice and gentled but the room had cockroaches in the bathroom, my husband was freaking out...

The room had a mildew smell to it when i checked in. I went and purchase some air freshener, the bathroom shower floor wasn’t as clean so I put a towel down to protect my feet. For that pricing i would have expected better but i understand they come here to upcharge on everything and give basic minimum maintenance and rooms.

The bathroom door doesnt close, the tile floor was brioken, only 1 hanger and when we asked for another we were told where to go to find extras.

Room felt neglected. There was an ant in the bed and the chair was all dirty. The bathtub had what looked like rust or dirt around the tub.

Floors were gritty, walking into the room, went into the bathroom and obviously had not been cleaned. They were still hairs all around the toilet and tub from previous stays😬 brought it to the attention of the front desk and they didn’t seem to care. Also requested an extra blanket and none were available breakfast. The next morning they try to pass off. Everything is real orange juice, which was glorified Tang and coffee was horrible!

For the most part, the room was in good and clean condition. There was a stain that looked like splashed soda on the wall near the right side of the bed. The shower had some mold and mildew stains in the corners and tiles.

The property is in a busy area right off the highway but the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I don’t know how we requested a handicap access room, perhaps it was the only double available. Either way, handicap people also need to use a mirror in the bathroom. How is one expected to shave without a mirror? The telephone in the room had no instructions on how to call the front desk. Usually dialing zero works, but not this time. No special button for the front desk either. Also, no hooks in the bathroom to hang any towels. No storage spots in the bathroom either. I guess handicap people don’t need those things.

Their breakfast was subpar. They made sausage gravy out of cream of mushroom soup n sausage mixed in. Served reconstituted eggs with no flavor. Not used to being robbed. Will not be going there again bc btwn the beds that were impossibly tall and hard to get into and uncomfortable I didn't appreciate being charged twice for my room.

I think the hotel is absolutely beautiful! Love the design. The staff were very friendly and passionate about taking care of their guests. My only issue was moving twice from a maintenance issue and missing chair but it took 3 moves with no compensation or upgrade. Most importantly was cleanliness and I gave that a 2 star. The toilet was not cleaned, the showers were not cleaned properly with built up in corners, floors were not throughly cleaned. But the professionalism demonstrated by the hotel staff was exceptional.

The front desk staff was not too personable. The process to check in was rushed and not a pleasant one to say the least with no room service or cleaners daily. The rooms were decent. Was not fond of the configuration with the sink being outside of the bathroom/toileting area, but we made it work. The WiFi and TV channel options were not that good at all! Amenities were scarce. Convenience Store was overpriced and the Free Breakfast was simply ok. Wouldn’t book here in the future.

Bedsheet torn and stained. Need to be replaced. Breakfast was unhygienic. Danish and muffins stale and orange juice is fake. Over easy eggs look fake too. Cook doesn't wear gloves. Keeps running both hands over his hair, rubbing his nose and face and then stirs the burnt scramble eggs. Took a peek in the kitchen. All the cabinets (top part - to open and close) stained in dark dirty color. Do not expect that of La Quinta Inn. Look more like Quality Inn hotels.

My stay was comfortable. The only thing that I felt could be improved is the carpeting. It was sticky. Luckily I had flip flops. It just needs to be deep cleaned.

The bed boxsprings in room 216 are in need of replacement as they creak extremely bad getting in and out of bed and moving. The bathroom floor needs a through cleaning.

My son graduated from BCT at Fort Jackson South Carolina so we booked a room at La Quinta from Oct 27, 2025 - Oct 30, 2025. We were able to take him from Fort Jackson to his next base for AIT and had to check out a day early. The hotel refused to refund our last day. The guest in front of us when we were waiting to check out was having an issue and the staff was being very rude to him in front of all of the other hotel guests. The facility itself was nice, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The staff at check in was very nice, helpful, and all smiles. I understand that everyone has bad days, but when you work in the public you can not be rude like that. Very disappointed in

The gym doesn’t open until 9 a.m., which is inconvenient for guests who like to work out early. On a positive note, the location was perfect for our needs, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. However, I wasn’t a fan of the bathroom layout — the sink and shower being separate felt awkward. Overall, our experience was mixed. While I appreciated the staff’s responsiveness, I’m not sure if we would stay here again.

Beds were a little too high, but comfortable. Pillows were wonderful! The tub was a little slippery and realky could use some handles for getting in and out.

But customer care/maintenance is lacking. The display screen at my check-in station wouldn't accept initials or signature so what was already a cumbersome check-in process simply got worse. In the room, the bedside lamps on one side didn't work and a piece of the baseboard was missing. The TV remote was indecipherable and seemed to work differently than most. There was a channel guide, but instructions for the remote. Nevertheless, the Staff were friendly and the stay was pleasant enough.

I SOOOOO appreciate that pets are welcome (I had my dog with me), but last night was ridiculous. There should be a rule that people are not allowed to leave their pets in the room unattended.

Everything was great except breakfast. Petrified sausage and terrible eggs. At least they had bagels and good coffee.

The stay was amazing. Everyone was so friendly. Room was clean. You have your own microwave and mini fridge in your room as well. Comfy and very quiet. Overall a great stay

The room was clean, the bed was horrible! It is a metal frame and anytime we moved it creaked so loudly. The flashing fire alarm was annnoying as well.

The hotel was sold out for a the Saturday night that we stayed. Yet, at 2:30 PM there was only one desk attendant to help guests with check in. The room design was awful. The bathroom light switch was on the wall behind the door. There was nowhere to hang clothes and only one, tiny drawer. The walls were so, paper thin that we could hear other conversations and phone alarms around us. When I got in the shower, there was a hair hanging on the wall. There was little water pressure and it never got hot. I wouldn’t recommend.

Bathroom floor flooded from shower No night light, if you kept the bathroom door open, the fan ran the whole time. Cracked tile, no leg prop or shelf in the shower, constantly bending over to pick up things. Carpet looks dirty

We arrived about two hours prior to check in. We asked if we could check in early to get ready for a wedding, and the guy at the front desk said that they don’t usually allow people to check in early. So my husband and I were trying to figure out what to do while standing at the desk. He said well we will charge you a fee of $30 to check in early. I was kind of taken aback because he sounded like he really couldn’t check us in, but then all of a sudden he could do it for a fee. He was checking us in, and then he said, “Oh we will put $100 hold on your card, and you’ll get it back in 24 hours.” Something just did not feel right with my husband and me. The hotel that I usually stay in was booked, but I usually don’t have to pay fee to check in early. I also have not had $100 hold on my card. I did look up La Quinta hotels regarding the $30 early check-in fee all of them don’t have the same policy. And some hotels do put $100 hold on your card. One other thing that we didn’t like about the room is that the sink area was outside of the bathroom at the door. That was odd. The bathroom was really small. My husband asked me to never book us at this hotel again.

The room smelled like curry, the water pressure was horrible. Our original room the room was not cleaned and beds were not made . The surrounding area was a little shDy

My shower was dirty, and the drain was clogged water rising in stand alone shower. Used lotion and soap provided. Comforter on bees smelled musty and was not changed. Phone did not work to call front desk. I told the front desk and nothing was offered as a courtesy. My experience could’ve been better.

Nice place to stay for a few nights. Went to see my boyfriend graduate and we stayed here for 2 nights. Nice staff members and the room was clean and nice. Would stay again. Don’t let the surroundings scare you off! Great hotel

I reserved my room im heading to South Carolina from Cleveland Ohio I drive 700 miles go to check in and was told I can't accept my credit card. So I'm stuck in a strange city with no room

Is located does not appear to be very safe. We ran into the Circle K to grab a water bottle in the evening and there was an armed police officer wearing a bullet proof vest. You can hear the train through the night as it beeps its horn. There was a few people in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel late at night being loud.

Good location & value. Staff was courteous and helpful. Could not ask for better staff. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were clean. Despite allowing dogs, it was quiet. My only complaint is the pillows were not supportive enough. They gave you more so you could pile them together, but it was a case of 1 is too low & 2 are too high.

Stayed there four times previously but shocked at how the cleanliness and appearance has deteriorated. Couldn’t e en get coffee in the morning as breakfast was only until 9:30 am and coffee machine was broken

Only cons: Bathroom was a little tight, shower pressure could have been better and need firmer pillows! Overall one of the better hotels we’ve stayed at when visiting USC. Will definitely stay here again. Great experience!

I booked based on reviews from my Fort Jackson parents fb page. I was sold the second I walked in! It smelled so fresh and clean but not overpowering. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building and the pool were fantastic. We will definitely book again!! If your coming in town for Army family or graduation day, this is a great place to stay!

Musty room.

Room was clean, staff was nice and polite. Lighting is terrible in room, 1 small trash can in bathroom? Coffee pot crappy, not plugged in had to move to sink to use it. Cleaning of room was ok, something oiley was on counter after first night .

I went to the wrong La Quinta by accident but the clerk there was super helpful in getting me where I needed to be. There are several restaurants nearby which meant I didn’t have to do a lot of driving in an unfamiliar place.

The staff was extremely attentive and welcoming!

We had a wonderful time. We arrived late (around 11pm) and the individual at the front desk was lovely. Asked us how our drive was and was efficient getting us checked in. The room was clean, recently updated and the bed was comfortable. The only downside was it being a pet friendly hotel, we had a dog across the hall barking but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.

Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was mostly good. Wasn’t crazy about the potato cakes but biscuits and gravy was good. Had fresh fruit as an option. Bagels and pastry if you wanted that. Eggs were ok. Orange juice was really good. Check out was easy. Would stay there again if going through the area.

The sheets on the bed were not change and it was hair from the last person that stayed there. Also, the bathroom floor was dirty.

Room was clean and comfortable. We left before breakfast so cannot comment on food, however, coffee was available at all times and my wife got a cup on the way out. The breakfast area was neat and clean with ample seating. Staff was pleasant efficient. No complaints or issues. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The hotel had an odd smell in the hallways and the room smelled musty. The towels were dirty, washcloth was streaked brown and hand towel had makeup all over it. The tub and shower looked new and were clean, but the rest of the bathroom was grungy with what looked like black mold on the walls. The ottoman had a slit down the middle. Breakfast was terrible. At least invest in decent coffee. Just awful.

Only complaint: The bathroom exhaust fan was terribly noisy and came on with the light. The design engineers for this chain should specify a quiet fan, such as Broan, and a separate switch.for the fan.

Hotel was great. Location was excellent, breakfast was good, beds clean and comfortable, room spacious.

The room was nice and clean and designed well. You can tell they put time into the decor which is appreciated. We slept so well as the beds are comfortable and the drapes kept the room nice and dark.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Cleaning staff was very respectful with your personal belongings. If it's have any thing negative to say, it would be the breakfast was lacking. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

I had a fantastic experience at La Quinta! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. My room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-kept. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of tasty options, and the location was super convenient. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in town! Highly recommend.

Staff was very friendly. We originally booked one night on Hotels.com but travel plans changed and we added two more days (one day before and after original stay). Total of 3 nights. No issues at all with staff. Room and hotel is clean just needed some updates. Area around the hotel doesn't look the greatest but we felt safe during our stay. Despite the few issues, would recommend.

Was a nice one night stay

My only disliked was the cleaning of my room. Which ever way I left it , that's how I will meet it whenever I return . Only the dirty towels and trash will be taken away, the bed was always left the same way I left it. Apart from these , everything else were good.
