Quiet, nice location, and clean. Asked for 2 extra pillows gave us one and said they didn’t have anymore when their was a ton of rooms were open they could have gave us pillows from. Sink was stopped up.

Location Not well maintained. Shower curtain bar so loose that it dropped down and the curtain wouldn’t stay closed. Worst toilet paper I’ve ever had anywhere. Maybe made from recycled paper. Literally looked washed and folded, crooked seams. You could triple fold and still see through it. So thin. Breakfast bar still good. Didn’t seem to have as much fresh fruit as in previous stays.

Breakfast doesn't offer a lot of options, but of course, with just 90 dollars that's fair. They don't have bacon or even eggs; just cereal, waffles, and what I think is a pancake. The hair dryer is not workingin the room we stayed in, but the building is well-maintained even if it is showing signs of age. The mirror in the headboard is a nice touch. If you're on a budget, then this would be a very pleasant stay. If not,or you're a woman travelling alone, I suggest you find somewhere else.

Everything was great about this hotel, minus them not having an elevator but it’s just a two story building. Every staff was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and nice.

This property must be in the process of renovation. I’ve stayed at other Microtel hotels while traveling and this property was not on brand at all! More like motel vibes. The HVAC system would not stay on the whole unit would turn off whenever it chose to do so. Room was missing fire alarm. The price I paid and what we got was not worth it. This is just one opinion.

so i saw a dead roach in the hallway heading towards my room. was concerned a bit, but my room was fine. some wear and tear in the bathroom but nothing super unsightly. the heater was weird in that any temp i set it at would make the room unbearably stuffy and hot within 5 minutes. i was better off just turning it off as it seemed so well insulated, despite it being in the 30s outside and left off all night. breakfast options and coffee were slightly better than expected. food options outside within walking distance. my expectations were pretty low, but it was decent and i would return

The management was unreachable and unwilling to help resolve a booking error. I stopped into the lobby and booked a reservation through Expedia with the help of the counter clerk working. I had to book two separate rooms. The second room was charged for a night two week out but at 11pm at night it was not noticed until the confirmation. I have on numerous occasions tried reaching out to cancel the room at the hotel but management is not willing to refund my money when the reservation date isn’t even until 11/25/25. I tried changing the room date the same night. had to pay again to stay that night on top of them unwilling to cancel the error of the night that was made by mistake, with the help of the hotel staff. I will never choose Microtel as a hotel for future hotel stays.

When checking in the guy presented me with a for that he requires all guests to sign: There is a $250 charge if you smoke in the room; $250 charge if you have a pet that has issues; $75 charge for damages to room….you get the idea. I ask him to show me a room…the carpets are worn in hall and the room had a bad odor so I asked him to show me different room. The 2nd room smelled better but still had an odor. So I told him I won’t sign his form of penalties because with the rooms already having an odor I am hesitant to stay because he could potentially charge hundreds of dollars more. I said I would like to cancel my reservation. He encouraged me to go back through Expedia since I had booked it through them. Expedia reached out via phone and emailed and we’re not able to get my money refunded back. So that $109. My mom and I would not recommend anyone staying at this Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbia Fort Jackson 1520 Barbara Drive, Columbia SC 29223.

The room temperature was comfortable as was the beds. We didn't have the breakfast du to time and those working the front desk were pleasant and strives to make sure we had what we needed in a timely manner. Friendly and helpful staff

The furniture and the bathroom furniture everything was need repaired the water pressure in the bathroom shower didn't come out properly and they gave us the room with a full size bed instead of a queen size bed and they gave us any option we had our room to reserved and it wasn't the correct one all the TV small

The hotel was not clean. The bathroom smelled like mold and there was noticeable repairs needed. Ended up checking out the same day and booking another hotel.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which added a welcoming touch to the stay. I also appreciated how neat and well-maintained the grounds were—it gave the whole property a peaceful, cared-for feel. The location was a bonus: within walking distance to several restaurants and not far from the destination I needed to access. Overall, a solid choice for a restful, budget-friendly stay.

This was a horrible place to ever come to. If I could give zero stars I would. Came here and later on was told that I had to pay another fee after I had already booked the room for the night. I tried to get another hotel booked due to the false advertisement at this hotel and was then told that they don’t give refunds. What if that person only had but so much money to spend then you tell them that they have to pay extra? So I then paid because I can’t get a refund. Now my deposit is still pending and it’s a Tuesday smh when I get to the room it smells like straight up underarms like whoever was in there last don’t wear deodorant or something it was disgusting. I would never recommend to anybody I know. I would tell them to go elsewhere.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! This hotel was so filthy, its shameful to charge people to ATTEMPT TO book here. Before checking in there , I noticed what looked like pubic hair on the check in counter. I immediately asked for a refund and they refused. I spoked with Hotels.com and the manager refused to return their call. I did not stay at this hotel, I refused to checked in and they refused to refund my money.

The first room had several things not working. I asked for a different room and they gave ne one. Everything worked perfectly there. Came to breakfast, got an egg omlet, but it was cold. Showed the manager and he took them back to the kitchen. I took my breakfast to my room and heated the egg in the microwave.

Place is dirty, old and needs lots of updates on their furnitures, bathroom remodeling and painting. Staffs are friendly.

TERRIBLE. never go. me & my husbands check-out was may 5th @11am. room service walked in UNANNOUNCED and without knocking and saw me and my husband all in our glory in our birthday suits @930 a.m. i go downstairs to talk to the lady at the desk & ask if housekeeping has a paper where they can check who checked out or not when they start cleaning. she said yes. so why is she busting in our rooms at 930 am if she knows we’re still in there & don’t check out until 11am? the lady at the front desk claims she was just trying to offer services/towels- WHY WOULD WE NEED THOSE IF WE CHECK OUT SOON???? & so i said no. she wasn’t trying to offer that bc she was asking if we were sleeping in when she barged into our room & fully came in. when she saw our things still in the room she should’ve walked back out but instead she proceeded to walk all the way in our room. the lady at the front desk was no help at all & apparently couldn’t get me to the manager. terrible service all around & unclean. the outside has looters as well. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We stopped for one night on our way home from Florida. The staff was very friendly. The room was not fancy but clean, well stocked with towels, fridge and microwave. The shower was strong with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was the usual cereal, yogurt waffle maker. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and would stay again.

The property was a glorified motel with an unpleasant smell. I called my booking agent and got a refund and when to another hotel across the street.

Zero water pressure for showering which sucked. Hot breakfast is either waffles or toast, no hot protein offered. Other options are cold cereal and I saw 1 yogurt available during my four night stay. I walked next door in the freezing temps to grab Chick-Fil-A. TV only worked half the time. On my first night, some lunatic stood outside of the building yelling threats to another guest inside the hotel and then walked around banging on random doors. I went to the front desk 4 times complaining about the racket before the police were finally called to end the 2 hr rampage.

Check in took forever. Room is not even slightly close to pics. Looks like it hadnt been updated since the 80's. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Lights outside lit the room up like it was daytime.

Room was comfortable but could use a new paintjob in the bathroom and lighting was odd. Friendly staff and easy to stay there. Surrounding area has plenty of dining. Lacks an elevator for elderly or injured to get to 2nd floor.

Ugly property. An old-motel room experience for the price of a regular hotel room. You can tell they are trying to update the property, but there is still a lot to go.

Always greeted with friendly smiles and a courteous staff who go above & beyond. The rooms are incredibly clean and smelling fresh. Coffee up front is available 24/7 and the breakfast is just enough to start the day right. (that alone adds value when calculating a tight budget) In my opinion, this hotel can not be beat for the price. Thanks for another pleasant stay
