Reception was really dirty and has a strong smell of smoke and curry, very dusty. It seems like under construction for awhile but not on going. The room bed was comfortable the sheets were white and clean but room floor has some mud obviously not mopped good thing it was laminate flooring. Furniture are peeling and the only chair is so stained. No continental breakfast or even coffee.
- 1/5
This place is a dump. Filthy walls, broken lock on bathroom door, ants in room, bed that made a loud bang every time you sat down on it. Would not recommend to anyone.
- 3/5
The bed was a bit firm, but comfy, clean linens/towels- which was good. Shower was clean. But rooms need updating and deep cleaning- the lamp was covered in dust, and the windowsill in the bathroom was super dirty. Soap rack is completely rusty. It was okay for a night to stay- bed was clean - which is important, but they definitely need to clean way better!
- 3/5
Although the staff were very helpful and friendly, the old place could sure use some updating. The bedding & tv were all fine. However, the surroundings were far from aesthetic. Beat up furniture, duct tape on window screen, an old drapery haphazardly hanging on one window. There must have been a dog/animal locked in the bathroom, at one time, because it had obviously scratched the door and frame to escape. No attempt has been made to cover this up, by sanding it down or painting it.
- 2/5
Room hadn’t been cleaned other than the bed having clean bedding. The check in and check out was unprofessional and limited contact with no information about any amenities. It was pet friendly and location was very convenient.
- 5/5
Clean, warm. Shower pressure awesome
- 5/5
It was nice

room was clean and comfortable
- 1/5
Place was super dirty and very dated. Room hadn’t been swept in weeks with a lot of dirt and debris on the floor. Bathroom was not clean, had previous renters hair on sink. We understand the rent was cheep but should be able to sweep and clean between guests. Would not recommend. But on the bright side the Heat/AC, TV & Sinks worked.
- 3/5
We booked for a week for business. They started after the first night claiming they needed to do an "inspection", on day 3 they asked if we were leaving soon? We paid for a week! Don't bother putting out the "do not disturb" sign cause they either knock or use their key card to enter anyway.
- 3/5
Bare bones stay. Clean enough but rough - new vinyl plank floor but chipped and worn dresser, night stands. Good enough for a more inexpensive stay but definitely no frills

Best value for money in Rensselaer area. It is located by the main road which is connected to highways and freeways.
- 1/5
I didn't like the fact the room smelled like smoke. The dead bees on the floor. Not hot water in the evenings and the hot water knob just krpt turning around and you couldn't turn down the hot burning water. Bees around the door way as you walked into the room. Outlets that were melted from a electrical fire and never changed. The TV wasn't working half the time we were there. We ended up leaving a day earlier than planned because of the conditions. I do not recommend this establishment for anyone to stay at. Shouldn't be on the list to be available for guests. Also no continental breakfast was available either.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and staff very friendly. The room could just use an update of the furniture, but def not a deal breaker.
- 5/5
Good value for the money. Stayed here on our bicycle ride along the Empire State Trail, the hotel is a very short and flat ride from the trail. The grocery store is a short bicycle ride from the hotel, and the store has a bicycle stand.
- 1/5
Place looked nothing like what the pictures advertised. Run down. Cockroaches in the room. Terrible place.
- 2/5
Dirty
- 3/5
Basic room but clean and the price was right.
- 1/5
We reserved a no smoking room. The room we were given reeked of smoke. There were cigarette burn holes in the bedspreads. There was mold growing on the walls. It was so disgusting we left. I couldn’t even imagine sleeping there.
- 4/5
Great and helpful management. The property is quite old, but has everything you need and is a good deal given the low cost
- 2/5
It appears that this location is used for long term housing for folks. Non-smoking room smelled of smoke. Had to get a different room. Room was clean as was bath room. TV control was horrible. Not sure who to blame on that. Couldn’t access channels listed in lineup. Noisy neighbors. AC sounded like a dump trunk when it kicked on. Bed was situated on a tin can base. Made “hollow” can sounds when I rolled over. Very very few amenities (although none were really listed). Only one chair in room. Might be suitable for a single person, but the wife wasn’t too happy.
- 1/5
We got the impression the room and others part of this hotel had been used to house homeless people, who hadn't used it well.
- 3/5
Old motel that needs a great deal of up-dating.
- 1/5
Found it very disturbing we reserved a non smoking room to walk in and be surprised it wasn't and had been smoked in. You can even see it on the back of the door badly yellowed. It was so late there was no way to change rooms, so we put on masks and dealt with it even though we are both allergic. Eight hours later we were up getting ready for the day and didn't like the looks of the shower so we skipped on that. There was a couple arguing and seeming to live there that we felt unsafe with. I went looking for the ice machine and it was in an obscure hallway with building materials in it. The bottom of the machine is rusted from the leaking pool of water under it. Sorry but I will never be back to this location again.

Gross. Smelly and dirty all around

Quite. Safe. Housekeeping daily. Good manager.

This is a hotel for families in-between places . With that comes the pimps and the hoe's.
- 1/5
My full refund from that nasty room. TERRIBLE AND NASTY ROOM.
- 1/5
Upon checking in we were given a room that personal scooters and a tote filled with someone’s personal items and icy water. Cigarette butts and used condoms outside our door. Once we opened the room we were greeted with the smell of smoke and weed. The blankets had burn holes and stains of an unknown source. The bathroom was filled with mold. The garbage can had garbage in it … condom wrappers. This room was straight out of a horror movie. The mouse droppings , the non working heat.. I couldn’t even stay and took my loss of money. Please for the love of god DO NOT STAY HERE!
- 2/5
poor shape needs renovation work

Manager was very good to me.,,
- 1/5
Nothing. As soon as we pulled in and saw certain activities, puls how the room looked. We left and found another place to stay
- 1/5
Dirty, smelly, uncomfortable. Staff could not figure out how to code the room key
- 1/5
Our key card never worked, every time we needed to get back in our room, we would have to get someone from the front desk to let us in and they were less than friendly about it.
- 4/5
My room was recently redecorated with new fixtures and painted. A mini fridge and microwave was provided in addition to the cable tv and free wifi.
- 1/5
Will not stay here again
- 1/5
This property isn’t safe for families. The property has suspicious individuals living there who approach you in the parking lot.
- 3/5
Property is dated but the staff is friendly and were accommodating. Seemed like maybe there were some long-term guest/residents in the facility, and it felt like perhaps they were a little shady. Otherwise, decent location.

The photos online are not what you get, very run down! Very dirty!
- 1/5
I have a ton of pictures of this place. Filthy walls, toilet would not flush, no hot water, smelled terrible, bed where very hard and smelled dirty. Absolutely disgusting. Worst hotel I have ever been in. Nothing like the pictures.
- 3/5
Shower head was almost detached from the wall. It was very difficult to get the shower temperature regulated- water was scalding.
- 3/5
We had low expectations. They were not met. But it was cheap.
- 1/5
CLEANINESS VERY POOR , BATHROOM SINK BROKEN , CIGGRETTE SMELLS FROM ROOM EVEN NO SMOKING ROOM WAS BOOKED , DOOR LOCK WASN'T WORKING , KEY CARD WAS NOT WORKING , ROACHES WERE ON FLOOR ,BED SHEET HAS HOLE BY CIGGRETTE BURN ,TERRIBLE EXPERINCE

The location was good It was run down. Our first room smelled of cigarette smoke so we asked for a different room. The second room was bad for a different reason. The air conditioning unit banged and squealed all night long.

Make the landmark a landmark !
- 1/5
Absolutely filthy. Something that looked like melted chocolate ice cream all over the inside of the refrigerator. Smelled like mold & I couldn’t breathe. Black hairs all over the toilet (looked like public hairs) soap dishes in bathroom rusted & rotted, a piece of the bathroom sink counter was missing. Moldy shower curtain. We pushed the furniture in front of the door for safety because the lock was broken & there were people hanging out outside all night
- 3/5
My main issue was the TV. I reported that there was no signal, so the receptionist came and reconnected the cable. I still found that most of the channels had no signal. The next week, I stayed there again in a different room. There I had many times as many channels working, so something went uncorrected in the first room.
- 2/5
At this price point, there were so many options that I'm sure would've been a million times better near Albany. Pictures did not capture the complete neglect of the property. And nothing could have prepared us for such filthy conditions. Walls covered in mysterious smears, splashes, stains in every inch of the space. Blankets with cigarette burns. Unswept, unmopped (a previous guest's disposable contacts were still on the floor of the bathroom). Smelly. Shower temp was inconsistent. AC worked--but looked like it had been through a war. Housekeeping does come in your room to make the beds and replace towels. They have an unusual practice of taking the trash out of everyone's rooms and just setting it in front of their doors. That's the scene we came home to after being at a music festival all day: Trash bags in front of each hotel room like some weird evil Bizarro Santa had stopped by while we were gone. The bags were still there when we left the next morning. It seemed most guests were long-term, down on their luck residents. We come from rural WV so are no strangers to living amongst a marginalized & underserved population so with all this and when the mobile food pantry came to deliver we weren't shook as somebody maybe coming from the suburbs would be.

Based on price, I got what was expected. But I would not stay at this hotel other than for one night in transit - leave early. Bare bones hotel. The only problem was there was no place to hang clothes. Television channels were pretty useless selection. See above

Under featured. No coffee maker, glasses missing, etc.
- 1/5
This is a horrible hotel. Dirty beds hard drug dealers everywhere will never stay here again
- 4/5
I liked the responsiveness of the front desk staff - they were great to accomodate my request to move to a more quit room. I also liked that the rooms were large, with microwave and refridgerator, TV and excellent working heat.
- 5/5
Very unexpected for the Money I Paid, I was impressed
- 1/5
When I got hotels dot com on the speaker phone she even commented that she could hear the owner being rude He then tried to get me to cancel the room so he could collect my money and sell the room to someone else. We are frequent travelers and have never encountered such a rude manager and such a scam for more money
- 5/5
We were in Alexandria Bay for the long weekend and wanted to drive 3 hours into our trip home Albany has always been a favorite place to stay enjoyed a great pizzeria nearby.
- 5/5
Nice room, flooring is uneven (coming up in places). Bathroom was clean.
- 3/5
Location was very convenient for our needs. Property is old but well maintained. No coffee available in room or on site and no hair dryer either.
- 2/5
The Light wasn’t working on the sink, the bathroom wasn’t clean at all . I’m so scared to get COVID-19 infection because I’m sure the room haven’t been disinfected so I had to check my self for COVID before returning home to my family. This is not what a was inspecting. I I’m very disappointed
- 5/5
This was a decent place to stay for the money . I would stay again.
- 2/5
Nothing
- 4/5
The friendly staff was very welcoming and greatly appreciated.
- 3/5
Shower did not work in one of the rooms we booked but didn't know until am.
- 1/5
Old and run down. Booked non-smoking, and inside smelled heavily of smoke. Looked like people were living permanently in other units.
- 5/5
Very clean, but the room had definitely had a smoker in it at some point. Front desk was very friendly.
- 4/5
back corner of the room, which meant I couldn't use the desk at night as I would have liked. Liked having the refrigerator and microwave.
- 1/5
My room was so dirty and I didn't even stay in the room. There was a dresser drawer filled with clothes from the previous tenant. It looked like they sprayed the walls and never wiped them down and left streaks all down them.
- 1/5
The worse we have ever stayed at! The room smelled .. cold in room and no heat .. shabby .. water was just barely lukewarm .. shower curtain was 6” too short so water all over floor .. no mirror in bathroom (space for it, with vanity lights). You get a small bar of soap, that’s it! They said rooms had WiFi, but we weren’t able to connect. Picked this motel because it was close to the bike trail & the hotel we had wanted was full:( We were suppose to stay 2 nights, but left after the first night! There is NOTHING positive about this place!
- 1/5
With all of the poor reviews that I am now reading, yes I should have done that prior, why is this hotel on hotels.com?? I have never had such a bad booking on this site.
- 2/5
Great service at front desk, but room was dirty and not ready when we arrived
- 4/5
Very clean. Mattress was not comfortable, lumpy. Would have liked more complementary toiletries. Otherwise I was pleased with my stay and would stay there again.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Dumpsters in driveway were overflowing with garbage - almost cancelled.
- 1/5
Bed sheets was not clean and smelled bad. The bed cover was a very thin flimsy blanket. Someone was cooking near or at the back of the hotel reception. The reception had a very strong curry odor.
- 5/5
Great older hotel, nice clean comfortable room with excellent customer service.
- 4/5
Clean and though no frills, the bathroom looked updated and all was solid Would stay there again if needed. Within a block of Starbucks, too
- 3/5
We usually stay here twice a year before a cruise. We have liked it...it is clean, convenient, and the staff is friendly and helpful. HOWEVER, this was the second stay where the room was freezing. The first time it was sub zero out, so we chalked it up to that. This time, normal winter cold. They have newer heaters in the rooms that are not powerful enough. We cranked it to 86, and it still took HOURS to get maybe 60 something. Could not even shower...just far too cold. They do not warm the rooms before you arrive either. We had to leave and come back to stay warm. So, I would still recommend this place in mild weather...but not in the winter.
- 1/5
The place smelled like smoke. The smoke detector had been ripped off the ceiling and not replaced. Duck tape was holding the light fixtures together. Vent was covered in cobwebs. Extra toilet paper on the window ledge. Mini fridge on the stained carpet. Need I go on?
- 5/5
Property was Open and well kept with plenty of parking. Room was very nice clean and recently updated. Also had a nice HD TV, refrigerator and microwave. We had a King Size bed which very comfortable and clean. This is a nice place to stay and you can't beat the price.
- 4/5
Nothing special, ordinary, basic, clean and efficient. Good value.
- 3/5
I was not over all satisfied. The condition of the building can be better.
- 2/5
The room was very clean which was a plus, but the other things that we uncovered made it a bad stay.. The shower did not work properly, the tile in the shower was loose and scratched up the bottom of my feet, and after removing the sheets we noticed the mattress looked like a baby deer was slaughtered in there..
- 3/5
its an older motel and the rooms are clean, however, the mattress`s are extremely firm!!! I did not sleep at all , so if you don't like a very firm mattress, this is not the place for you.
- 3/5
It's just what I need for an overnight business trip.
- 4/5
an old-fashion style motel, one level, with modern very comfortable beds of different sizes, and pillows and ac, etc.. very clean and quiet. if you don't need all the modern motel/hotel extras, this very reasonably priced place will suit.
- 2/5
Spend 30 bucks more, head to the Holiday Inn Express near by.
- 4/5
Good value . I just stayed for the night, didn't need a lot of extras.
- 4/5
Good place to stay for your low budget. The only recommendation I would give for the management - is to make a faster and more reliable WI-FI, because it is slow and unstable. Buy new router or a extender for your guests!!! That's a way more important than TV, because its programs overloaded with garbage advertisements to watch for older folks...
- 5/5
Clean convenient economical good location thst’s All folks 😀
- 3/5
Satisfactory for a last minute overnight stay. Pleasant staff. Beds a bit hard.
- 5/5
Great no frills motel. Clean and efficient.
- 4/5
Nice quiet location and affordable as well as clean
- 4/5
My only complaint was the shower temp. I couldn't get it past luje warm. Otherwise I have no complaints with my stay. The staff was especially nice!
- 1/5
The room smelled there was a bottle left on the floor under the night stand and the beds where uncomfortable
- 3/5
It definitely needs some upgrades . The pillows were a bit flat.
- 4/5
The property was close to Times Union in Albany and it was ok for the one night and the price was right. The checking in staff were very friendly. It was also quiet which was great. I would stay there again
- 3/5
Room offerings were limited.
- 2/5
Shower was dangerous, sporadic scalding hot water, no water pressure. Bathroom door didn’t close .
- 5/5
Exactly as advertised. Very clean, very quiet, excellent price, great service. Second stay here. Will stay again if in area.
- 5/5
Room was clean and bed and pillows were very comfortable. Very good value for the price.
- 4/5
Lovely folks. Rooms clean but could be updated. Great value for the conditions. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Everything else about the room was pleasing
- 5/5
Great room for a great price. Would gladly stay here again if I'm ever in Albany. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and modern update to a small motel. Excellent choice!
- 4/5
Room was clean and appeared to have been renovated recently. Staff were very friendly
- 5/5
This is the best motel for all of you basic needs. No any extras offered, but if you need decent price for your short term stay needs close to Albany downtown- "Americas Best.." is the best. No frills attached. All remedies in very good to accepted order. Price is excellent as far as value of services provided and received.
- 1/5
To start off, the lightswitch as you come in wasn't working. The paint was chipping everywhere. Holes in the wall filled with copy paper. Bathroom light not working. No shade on the bathroom window. Carpet was stained. Luckily there was a bottle opener in the bathroom because you had to drink to sleep on that hard bed.
- 3/5
Fine, no frills place to stay. Big sign at check-in that says “NO PETS” even though Hotels.com has it on the pet friendly list (also, “SORRY, NO REFUNDS”. Not a warm welcome. Kinda weird check in process but overall just fine.
- 3/5
The room was decent Except for the strong smell of perfume or some other scent, maybe even cleaning fluid. It was really bad. I had to sleep with the covers pulled up over my head just to breathe. Also, I woke up with a very bad headache (the whole day was shot at that point). On the second day, the smell did dissipate to a more acceptable level (but I was still smelling that scent or days after my stay). I will not recommend this to others, nor be back.
- 3/5
It was ok for the money. The heat didn't work in 2 rooms. The desk clerk, Neal, brought in a space heater. He tried his best.
- 2/5
The room was not clean. Furnishings were old, worn and stained or chipped.Bathroom had rusty drain and soap area. Would not stay there again.
- 4/5
Good, clean no frills place to stay.
- 4/5
This is a very minimalist hotel/motel. The room was large and clean with cable/TV, phone, and internet. There is nothing else: no paper, pens, coffee maker, gym, breakfast, etc. but we knew that. The bathroom and shower were small but good, and the towels were thin, and the soap and shampoo were very meager. The room rate is half the price of other budget hotels in the area, and if you just need a place to stay, this is perfect. The manager was polite and kind.
- 3/5
The room was clean, but the floor tile did not meet at the seams.
- 5/5
Very nice rooms, new bathroom, super friendly staff
- 2/5
The good:The manager (or whoever was doing the front desk at night) was VERY friendly and helpful, he got us a replacement lamp right away to replace the bulb that had gone out. The room rates were very reasonable too. The booking was very last-minute and with our travel budget, we got what we deserved, I guess. My friend said he had stayed in way worse rooms than that, but even he slept above the covers of his bed that night. It's very likely the rooms that are used more regularly are in much better condition, but I can only judge what I saw.
- 4/5
Good price for one night. Just needed a place to sleep. Front desk gentleman was great! Very friendly, had me laughing. Very accommodating, needed more twels and a hair dryer which he had both behind the counter. I was a late check in and he knew who I was immediately! :)
- 1/5
Very dirty. Would have rather slept in tent than that smelly terrible place. Couldn’t sleep. Looked for bed bugs. Didn’t see them. Hope they were not there.
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was very clean. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and felt like sleeping on a rock.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff. Would recommend.
- 2/5
Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Very loud. Room was clean and very basic
- 2/5
I was trying to book at Marriott suites and somehow this place got slipped in. Not where or what we wanted. It's old and run down, not real clean either. That is two in a hotels in a row that where old dinghy places. Three in a row we didn't like. Good Bye hotels.com
- 4/5
The room was large and clean, bathroom and shower clean also, nice place would go again
- 3/5
Pretty inexpensive but just looking for a room to spend the night. Room was a little musty smelling and there wasn’t a hair dryer but like the said, for the money...
- 5/5
Beds were high and a little difficult to comfortably sit on, but comfortable for sleep.
