We stayed two nights there overall was good except when housekeeping put our sheets on the bed before we arrived the sheets were inside out and wouldn't stay on the bed when we woke up the sheets were off the bed, other then that the stay was good

We were traveling with service dogs. Front desk person Gary was very rude. He yelled at us and said dogs not allowed in dining room. When told they were service dogs he said still not allowed. When showing him regulations he still was arguing they are not allowed. Says city of Elgin health department said not even service dogs. Asked to speak to manager Chris Gunt she still refused entry to dining room with service dogs. I asked for a partial refund since we could not have the breakfast that was included with our room. Room was not well stocked, had to ask for towels. And wash rags. Vents were full of dust and lint. Overall could have been cleaner

The reason for the 3 stars is because of how we were treated by 1 employee. I came downstairs to get ice and the machine wasn’t dispensing any. I went to the front desk and there was no one there, but the door was open to the office and there was a woman sitting there and she was eating her dinner which is totally fine since she was the only one who was working you gotta eat. I had no problem with that at all. The problem began when I said hey excuse me and the way she turned around and looked at me, made me feel like I was in trouble with my boss, but I actually have to ask her “Oh I’m sorry am I bothering you, is there someone else I should be talking to? And she side deeply and said “that’s OK. What do you need? “ I asked her about the ice machine and she said oh yeah that’s out of service and I asked if there was any other ice machines in the hotel and she said no. Which is fine, but there was no “I’m sorry for the inconvenience” or just an acknowledgment that that could be offputting to guests. So then I just asked if I could have some extra coffee packets and cream and sugar packets for my room and again she side very deeply, took a breath and stood up, grabbed them and kinda tossed them to me where I have to bundle down and pick one of them up. That exchange really spoiled my stay. Hotels should be known for

Did not like this hotel! The rooms were very small and bathroom was dirty! When I mentioned to the front clerk, her comment was she had no idea! Would have been nice to get some sort of refund! The room was never cleaned after initial night. We were there three nights.The sheets were yellow. There was no coffee. The elevator was out of order. We asked for coffee and only got one packet.

Easy parking, close to interstate. Quiet. Staff was nice and very accommodating for our room request. Breakfast was good. (Need hot chocolate though)

The building is undergoing maintenance. The towels were very thin. I had the jetted tub room with only 2 bath towels I could see through. My desk lamp didn't have a bulb so I took one out of the bedside table lamp for it. There was shampoo in the shower but only empty slots where the conditioner and body wash should have been. Good note, they allowed me early check in by an hour. They breakfast was good.

The staff are great and so is the breakfast. Both the pool and fitness center were under construction which wasn't communicated in the Expedia page. The property is really tired and in need of a full remodel. This is reflected in the price which is discounted so don't complain, but be aware that you are receiving a discount while they work on the property. Looking forward to visiting in the future when the remodel is done.

TV kept losing the signal, watched the NCAA men’s championship on my phone. The next day I unplugged the hdmi cable and plugged it back in, that seemed to solve the issue. Had to do this each time I turned the TV on.

Upon arrival i was told the jetted tub room was having some technical issues with the pipes so we were moved into a king suite. Once we went to the room we noticed it has a heavy odor of cigarettes. We didnt want to be charged for that so we spoke with the receptionist who moved us into another room. Upon inspection we noticed this room hadnt even been cleaned yet. After once again returning to reception we finally got a room that was clean. Breakfast was good, bed was comfy, only other thing is they need better pillows.

The pool was closed and under construction and was NOT clearly stated on the website. The hallways were full of construction dust. The ice machine was covered in disgusting dust and filth. The floors by the vending area had pointy plastic objects sticking up (not sure what they were) that anyone (especially a child) could get very hurt on. The Sunday breakfast was carbs... only carbs. Nothing else. I chose a certain cereal but when I turned the knob, a totally different cereal came out which means they do not clean the containers and just fill up the dispenser with something different when it's getting low and then they mix together. Unreal. Nasty place!

We've stayed here multiple times over the last 4 year to come to events for our daughter who attends a college in Elgin. The property has definitely gone down hill in terms of the room quality. Some things were replaced cheaply (bathroom tile sloppy installation) and others things have never been replaced (still have can lights with florescent curly lamps, door safely lock/bar broke hanging loose by 2 screws/no tub plug if you did want to take a bath, only one trash can in whole room out by frig/microvave). Not going back any more.

Breakfast was very good every day. It was fresh and hot. Staff in the breakfast room was friendly. We found the desk staff to be very helpful as well. The room was quiet and the shower hot. We had to request clean sheets for the sofa bed as the old sheets were still on the bed. The king bed in the suite was terribly uncomfortable. The room was not as clean as I would like and we didn't have enough towels, toilet tissue or pillows for our stay. The pool was closed for our stay. There was a sign on the desk stating that this was posted on-line, but I never saw it. Also, on Sunday, we woke up to the elevator being closed down and the area near the ice machine on the 2nd floor being retiled. There had been no mention of that, so we were quiet surprised. The area remained closed off for the entire day and overnight. We had to leave the property to get ice on Monday morning. Again, there was a sign posted that this was being done. But, that does nothing to prepare anyone. My husband recently underwent a total knee replacement, so for him to have to use the steps (we were on the 2nd floor) for everything got a little difficult. We had to carry our bags down rather than use a cart and the elevator.

Building is old and not kept up. Pool was under construction. Construction dust everywhere in building. Someone tried painting... Missed alot. Trump baseboards etc. full of paint. Elevator and entry to building was filthy. Did not eat breakfast. Not trusted. Furniture was dirty in room and small old tv. Resteraunt next door was fantastic .

The place is a freaking sewer and needs to be condemned. I’m filing freaking complaints with the city of Elgin to have that thing fricking condemned.

The hotel is close to the I-90 so was convenient for me. Renovations going on so unable to use pool. Barely seen the staff except at check-in. Room locks needs some attention. Needs some updating. Breakfast was good. Nice clean area.

When using this app the app said we would be charged the first night as cancelation fee and then a sign was put on the front desk that said we could cancel with no fee but we were already here and needed. place to say. Disappointed to say the least. we didn't even get comped

Very strong odor throughout the property all throughout different floors/hallways/room. It was a persistent odor that smelled like a mix of grease and pungent food smells. The room itself smelled weird as well almost like stale something, which made me question the cleanliness. The pool was under renovation, lots of areas of the property looked rundown. Walls cut with exposed pipes and the lobby restrooms both stated out of order. It felt more like a motel, thankfully I was not staying alone otherwise I would’ve had to book elsewhere. I had stayed here previously many years ago and it was very nice back then, unfortunately this experience was not at all what I expected.

Staff was good, hotel from outside looked nice but unfortunately i was put in an older room that was outdated and dirty. Dirty as in paint stains on walls, mirrors, doors and also shower was cleaned with previous peoples hair still on shower curtain and tub. Beds were ok though, only there for day.

When I checked in the guy made a comment about the owner being particular and not liking third party apps, telling me I should be careful using third party apps, to include hotels.com. it was just strange. ,Breakfast was disappointing

This is a very old and neglected hotel. The electrical outlets didn’t even have enough power to power our CPAPs. We used to stay here years ago, but had not been in a long time and will not be again.

Room was clean. Breakfast was good. On a below freezing night the climate control worked very good. Staff was excelent. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of clean wash cloths and towels. The bathroom sink had a huge crack in it. The toilet rocked back and forth, was not secure to the floor. Had to call front desk to get the TV to work. Service was excellent, Had a pool, but was under construction.

The building reeked of marijuana. It smells like they clean with for breeze and Lysol. The pictures don’t match with the lobby and rooms actually look like definitely would not recommend staying here.

Room was clean and in quiet area of hotel--which aligned with my request. Breakfast each day was consistently good.

Our was certainly not ready to host me and my 2 baby kids. We killed multiple bugs which is already disturbing. But the most disturbing was the little pieces of broken plastic in our bed, under the sheets the very first night, leading me to think we had dirty bedding and my baby girl was sleeping in bed with my husband and I. This is absolutely unacceptable, it appeared as though our room was seriously neglected not to mention the lack of a drain plug for our bath/shower. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be back. The customer service from the front desk staff was also lacking as there was no apology or attempt to make right by us.

We had to leave and not stay there. The bed had a spider and millipede in the sheets. The sheets were dirty with stains and had obviously not been changed from the previous guest.

This was once a nice hotel. The maintenance and up keep has not been done well. Paint peeling / chipped off and / or on top of trim. Worst hotel breakfast I've seen and I used to travel a lot. Remote control for TV was broken and was obviously left so staff could see it but they didn't fix it. Old phone system had a flashing light in the room. Rust stains, etc in the bathroom made it look very dirty. The location is decent but there are now multiple other choices in the area that I will look at next time.

Every morning in the bathroom I was greeted by gnats in the shower and ants on the bathroom floor.

The breakfast is a nice assortment: scrambled egges, waffles, bagels toast, cereals, yogurt. Air conditioner in room loud but I got use to the light rumble. The refrigerator is quite small. Leftovers from a restaurant meal can be hard to fit in the fridge depending on box size. I have stayed here twice and will stay again when I'm to visit family or friends.

The mattress was a little firm, but I survived. I enjoyed the breakfast and locale.

When we got to the room there was only on towel in there. We found hair in the bathtub and in the sink. Fridge was dirty and plugged in. We had a king size bed but it was broke down in the middle so we would roll to the middle while sleeping. The tv needed 2 remotes to work it because one would only turn it on and the other would do the rest. The whole place needs to be updated. Run downed.

I wish I could attach pictures. The sheets had hair on them, the shower surround and celing had mold painted over, the lamp shades are torn and yellowed, the room doors are all chipped and unkept. The rest of the bathroom was cleaned, but I lined the bed and pillow with towels to sleep on. There was no attendant, and the attendant when I checked in had facial tattos. Not professional, and extremely disappointed for Country Inn and Suites that is normally a clean safe bet.

The beginning of our stay started out with us being put next to the sprinkler maintenance room. The downside being that the pump ran every 30 minutes and vibrated the floor and wall. When we went to swim we discovered that the water was a freezing despite being advertised as a heated indoor pool. When we complained the night clerk shrugged and said it was set at 79° and mentioned that people had complained earlier as well. That was a big letdown since that was the biggest reason for booking this hotel. No hot tub or towels either. Signs posted everywhere banning smoking but the smell of weed was overpowering throughout the hotel. We were woken up at 330am by the people in the room next to us having a party despite rules about no parties in the rooms. The only real redeeming aspect was the breakfast. All you can eat waffles, fairly large selection of juices, milk, and coffee. Just about everything except for a good protein, they could have had scrambled eggs and it would have been perfect. 2 out of 5. We'll never stay here again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Garbage cans outside were full. Sink in bathroom was cracked. I received a message from the hotel saying checkout is at 12 pm and cleaning person came to knock saying checkout was at 11 am.

Rented two rooms. Both rooms were dirty...bedding was stained. Rooms stunk like stail smoke. Recommend paying the extra money to stay somewhere other than here.

The property is beat down and dated. There were paint smears all around the bathroom mirror and vanity, ancient fixtures, carpeting, furniture. Staff was very friendly though and breakfast was fine.

I was in town for my fathers funeral. I stayed at a different hotel during most of my stay. This was my last night more convenient for my ride to the airport. The room was quiet, the bed so comfortable. I felt comfortable walking barefoot in the room which i never do in a hotel. Not much around but a nice steakhouse next door.

The next morning the manager informed us that when you book through Expedia they reserve the right to put you in whatever room they want. We use Expedia all the time, including this entire 8 day trip which this was the last night of, and have never had this issue before. Moreover, she once again didn't apologize and instead was intent on "proving" that this was their policy. Didn't offer to comp us even so much as extra points much less money. Beyond that the room was OK, but breakfast had issues: 2 of the 3 juices were out (attendant apologized and said they would be there the next day, of course that wouldn't help us) and at most of the cereals were out as well as the muffin/bagel station was just bread.

Very dated, not clean, our sink didn't drain, our fridge didn't work. The bed was terrible and the overall state of the property was dirty. Only gave us two towels.

Literally an old hotel. Mmmm, quite good parking, but inside, apart from a rather nice pool and the space around it, the rest is just rubbish. Mmmm, exactly, just rubbish. A very pleasant person at the reception and a quite nice reception, and that's the whole impression of this hotel. Oh, and I'll add that the breakfast is possibly very, very poor, although the people responsible for it tried very hard to make everyone happy, so the entire staff is a plus, but the hotel as a whole, with an exclamation point minus.

The location is satisfactory. The hotel has undergone renovations, but unfortunately, there were several issues during my stay. My room had an unpleasant smell, which turned out to be caused by a leaking AC. Furthermore, the breakfast provided was of very poor quality.

Great stay. Only bad thing was breakfast. I wanted a grab and go and there wasn’t anything but a few tiny muffins and apples(no bananas).

Our room was clean. Thin and worn towels. The condition of the building itself was sad. Walls were very poorly painted, the elevator smelled bad every time we used it. The hallway carpet was grubby. The breakfast consisted of either cereal, biscuits and gravy, tangerines, toast or waffles. No meats or eggs.

Check in was great. I have stay here a few year ago and this place needs to be updated. Carpets in room dirty. Bathroom wasn’t clean. Holes in walls at floor light bulbs 1flaahing 1 not working at all. Would I stay here agin nope. There are better hotels across the tollway !

While I was up in the Elgin area two days into my trip I had a stroke and spent the next 4 days in Javon Bae Hospital in Rockford. My room was 319 on the 3rd floor. When I went to check out the elevator was broken. I had to walk down 3 flights of stairs with a walker. Thankfully one of your employees, Piper was good enough to bring my bag down for me, so I could catch my ride back to OHare. Thank You Piper. While the room was clean and oder free, the hallways had a very strong smell of Curry

The first day we purchased a can of Febreze for the elevator, hallway and our room. We had to ask at the front desk for toilet paper, towels, and coffee. We had to empty the waste bags or leave them in the hallway. Absolutely no room service, etc. I have stayed there every year because I have family nearby. I haven’t last few years because my husband was ill. Never again!

The bedding had stains, the bath towels were so small they didnt cover your body. The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a freight train.

I definitely gonna feel at home at this property. Ice machines missing on the first floor garbage and are full in the parking lot. Landscaping was terrible. Ran out of food during breakfast. Coffee wasn’t readily available in the morning. Signed by management saying you can’t take food to your room. My door was hard to open it close for the room. Toilet seat was falling off. Only three pillows on each queen bed. I cut stay short because of the conditions. I left three days earlier, even though I would not be credited for those three days.

The hotel was run down and the room looks like it was an old MOTEL. You can tell the sheets aren't replaced. VERY dirty! There was a bug on my bed. Went to get a change of room and thwy gave me a hard time. Country Inn and Suites use to be a very noce place to stay, but its gone down drastically.

We checked in later in the evening, staff was very nice and easy/quick check in. Elevator needs a cleaning but not bad. Hotel looks like it is being updated gradually, so the hallway was out of date but not bad. Room was nice and big, new carpet. Bathroom is a little dated but had a fresh paint job. Towels were small and thin like the ones from the pool. Bed was comfortable, and clean. Curtains had 1 broken part at the rod to open/close, could use a cleaning. 2 bulbs burnt out in the room, but didnt cause us any issues. Over all it was a nice hotel, will be very nice o ce renovation is complete. Breakfast was good too, and staff was attentive.

Fantastic, friendly service! The room was dated but comfortable, not fancy.

Room was dirty, white bed spread had black stains in multiple areas. Carpet had food crumbs and a lage stain. Hotel is old and not well kept. Lawn outside was dead and flower beds were full of weeds. Shower curtain and window curtains were both torn.

We were not able to stay at this hotel. The room was completely, in our opinion, unacceptable. We asked the hotel to cancel our reservation and were told we needed to contact Expedia, which we did. We then left the hotel we sought other booking by another means.

Wonderful breakfast;

Room was dirty stains on bedding, we even found a tooth uner our bed. Also the coffee pot was inside the bath room. Only one tiny trash can with no liner.

Bit expensive, but nice

It was super convenient place to stay for our conference & the breakfast guy was great at keeping everything refilled. The hotel had gotten some upgrades but the painting was pretty messy & our room still needed some work (faucet was leaking & drain plug not attached & bathroom lock struggled to unlock & let you out) though the management was very apologetic & wrote it down to get it fixed. Overall, nothing fancy but met our needs for a few nights.

The breakfast was the best part. The front desk clerk was helping the men in front of me and said their room number out loud. I politely asked him not to say mine out loud, and he rolled his eyes at me.

Bed sheets had hair on them. Sheet wasn’t fitted and kept coming off. Overall not a hotel snob, but will never stay here again. Light in bathroom looked like it had been on fire before and never fixed

We’ve never seen a bathroom stool sit so low to the floor! Hard for older folks to get back up! Only one washcloth in bathroom 😏

The staff was friendly. The rooms were "clean" (we never really know, right?). The building looks like it is falling apart.

Good safe location but the interior needs updating. All doors on 3rd floor didn’t shut without slamming shut. Could see light around door frames. All linens were wore out and need to be replaced. TV, microwave and small refrigerator worked. Pool and area around it looked clean. Comfy beds but thin bedding.

Need 1 bed pillow to be very soft and thinner!!!! CPAP machine user, really needed a different pillow. Stains Nice for an older hotel. Breakfast was a limited selection, but sufficent for being free.

Close to airport and local towns and Chicago

I didnt make a fuss because i needed a place to spend the night with my daughter.

It was an amazing hotel to stay at, from check-in to check-out!! Staff at check-in was so friendly. Had an issue with tv losing signal around 9pm, front desk worker came right up to fix. Very comfortable and the quietness was exceptional, had a wonderful nights sleep with no interruptions. Breakfast was amazing with several choices. Would definitely book here again if in area!!

No towel bars in bathroom. Fan did not work in bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Property a bit beat up.

my bill was for 4 days but I only stayed 3 days. And there is a second charge for $39.00 that I do not know what it is for. Please respond with answers.

The property was old and outdated. My husband and I checked in at about 8:15pm on Saturday 5/17 we headed right out as we had to catch a comedy show at 9 that’s was about 30 minutes away. Once we returned back to the room we realized there was what appeared to be urine in our bathtub, there was hair all over the sink, there was dirty face towels hanging on the shower rod, there was what appeared to be food blood in the refrigerator, the mattress had stains all over it and there was a screen from the window sitting up against our wall by the bed. We immediately called the front desk and mentioned all that was wrong. The guy said that they had a full house and there was no other rooms to move us to and we should speak with a manager in the morning. This was the worst experience we’ve ever had. The manager on duty was nice and tried to help get things resolved for us. We’ll never stay at this location again.

Rented a room with a jetted tub for two nights. When we arrived, the tub was dirty and they didn’t clean it until the next day.

I was a nice place to stay

The room we stayed in was outdated. 1960's type decor. Very noticeable 'perfumed' or 'air freshener' smell when we first walked into the room. The TV was from a past decade or three. Employees were courteous and helptul. The room was clean, but a little too pricey for the type of room.

I checked in and got room 302, I went in and it smelt super bad, there was hair on my bed, and the tv didn’t work. i went into the bathroom and there was mold on the bathtub. So i asked to move to another room. I moved to room 214 and it was a little better, but the window was broken, it was freezing, and the door didn’t close correctly, it was half opened. Very unsafe and unsanitary. I checked myself out and left. will never book through this again. Pictures don’t show what it actually looks like

Motel desk clerks were friendly, helpful, accurate (so far as I now know, anyway). Bed & Ste were very comfortable and quiet. Views were interesting (on upper floors). Toilet difficult to flush (stiff, resistant handle), had problems "running excessively" (seemingly) then eventually quit flushing completely. Hot tub air control was NOT ADJUSTABLE & set way too strongly high. Coffee maker could make a small cup at a time. Only 1 reg., & 1 decaf. Not usable till desk clerk came to tweak things. Was not actually plugged in tho apparently was. Microwave incapable of heating water for anything without 2 to 3 min. of full power usage. Turn plate & its base would fight each other (sounded like a horse's gallop inside there when running.) Milk I had brought with me (powdered then mixed with faucet cold water) NEVER CHILLED, even overnight. Breakfast, desk & misc. employees EXCEPT rude PUSHY cleaner couple were helpful & polite. Cost twice it should.
