Motel 6 Elk Grove Village, IL - O'Hare

Toilet seat was broken. Room was bare bones. Just used it to get 4 hrs sleep, so it was good for that. Based on the price.

We arrived at 5 and the rooms weren’t ready yet.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Could have been cleaner but was comfortable.

A perfectly pleasant stay! It is an older hotel but it has surprisingly very little wear and tear. The staff was extremely nice and the hotel was so quiet! I didn't hear any noise in the halls or from other rooms during our stay.

The toilet seat was also missing a screw, so it was being held on by just one, causing it to slide every time you use it. We told them right away, but they have NO MAINTENANCE person over the weekends. So just hope that there isn't anything that needs fixing in your room during a weekend, because you're stuck with it if so. I want to say you get what you pay for, but we atleast paid for the room to be reserved under our names, and they couldnt even do that.

For a simple stay, this place fits the bill. The staff was awesome. The area doesn’t have much but a Subway Sandwich shop that’s open til 11pm on Sundays, which was a plus for me, so plan on renting a car or grabbing a ride share for all of your activities.

Just a tiny uncleaned small pee wetness by the toilet. Bedding was clean. Pillows were not comfortable and were a very cheap kind. Bed was comfortable.

In addition, despite specifically requesting an invoice for my stay, I was told in a dismissive and discourteous manner that they would not provide one. This reservation was made on behalf of a company, and being denied an invoice for a business-related stay is completely unacceptable. The lack of professionalism and refusal to provide basic documentation created significant inconvenience and left a very negative impression. The floor felt like I was going to fall through. My feet turned black from dirty floor. Doors looked like they had been water damage. The top bed blanket was dirty. For the price I paid, should of had a mIcrowave and refrigerator included.

Cons: When I called the hotel directly the evening I booked, an EXTREMELY RUDE woman answered the phone, literally yelling and very difficult to understand. When I asked her my check-in question, she couldn't seem to understand me, she seemed very preoccupied, evasive, dismissive, yelling. She told me to wait an hour and call back later and speak to someone else, then hung up on me! Not getting my question resolved, I cancelled and re-booked through Expedia without issue. I prayed we would not encounter this woman during our stay and thankfully did not. Upon arrival, the lobby wreaked of cigarette smoke, despite advertising a smoke-free environment. The smoke smell was not in the third floor or the room, thankfully. The hallway and elevator were not clean. Out first night, there was a dog below us, barking after 2 am. That was bad. We said something next day and the dog was not there the next night. Please note, there are no amenities except soap, towels, cups, air-conditioning. No coffee pot, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, shampoo, iron. Also, housekeeping never came.

My husband and I have stayed at this location when we fly into O'Hare many times. It's 15 minutes from the airport and for the money it's a place to crash for the night but don't expect anything fancy or to exceed expectations. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable enough but everything is dated. My parents, brother and my husband and I arrived a little after 11 to check in. There were 2 guys just loitering in front of the desk, calling up other hotels to ask what they charge. The man at the desk needed a lot of prompting. I reserved three rooms but listed my parents and my brother for their own separate rooms. I had to tell this particular desk clerk that I reserved three separate rooms multiple times. Eventually he got the concept but never asked me for proof which was really weird. He gave us rooms on three different floors. The hallways were rough honestly, it looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The rooms however were clean and I checked the bed and mattress and everything was clean. The mattress looked new but omg the frame was not. Super squeaky whenever we moved on it. Walls are thin and you can hear a lot but I just wear noise-cancelling headphones to bed.

Cost per value can't be beat! Located in a convenient location for public transit to Rosemont and the convention center, The Motel 6 has an amazing price point for the city. The staff was kind and helpful, and I was provided with everything I needed. The only downside, however, is many optional amenities aren't present. No room fridge was the biggest surprise for me, but it was a small sacrifice for the price.

Was very disappointed that there was no airport shuttle. Not sure where but I read somewhere that there was one and to just call the hotel on arrival. Nope...added $50 to my stay.

I also did not feel safe during my stay because the back door did not lock properly. On top of that, the motel was very noisy at night, which made it difficult to rest. Overall, the cleanliness, safety concerns, and noise level made this a very uncomfortable stay.

It was a cheap room, so I wasn't expecting a lot. But when a non smoking room has a heavy cigarette smell like that, I have to speak up. That was not acceptable. Also, the shower featured pre-used bars of soap - so convenient.

Also, i contactrd expedia to modify my reservation by changing the name on the reservation. I did it on a chat with an automated agent. The change was easily made but the hotel wasn't notified. The desk clerk resolved that issue easily.

I feel if they provided a dental kit, it would be so good. No complaints, it was a good stay.

After the staff saw us came in with 8 people, she told me that she has to charged $35 per person because I book 2 rooms with 2 king beds and not counting the people, but on the bookings, it said it's fine to bring 4 people in(as in 4 people in each room). When I try to call the booking customer service to help solve this issue, she told me that the booking will just call her and she will not lower the price. At the end, she's trying to make me feel bad about not booking at this because I was hesistant, she said "Usually I charged $90 a person but for you I charged $30" like I'm supposed to be grateful or something?? After that I went on google map and find a cheaper hotel on the map 10 mins across from this. So she did save me from the troubles and the dirtyness of the motel.

I had a TV that couldn't turn on or off with the remote, I wasn't happy with that but the accommodations where nice other than that.

Know thay dident even give us clean bath towels the next day stay horrible customer service I would never stay at a motel six again in my life, even if it was free they told me they only cleaned the rooms, Wednesdays, and Saturdays horrible service and you’re not even going to refresh my towels, so I can shower with clean towels the next day that is so unacceptable you think if you’re staying another day, they would bring you clean towels and put them in your room. or at least ask is there anything that you need? refreshed. I recommend you don’t use this hotel.

By mistake I left my coat at the hotel. When I called from Connecticut to arrange for Motel 6 to ship it back to me, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. I emailed a prepaid FedEx shipping label, and staff took care of the rest. It is an old coat but much loved, and I am grateful to get it back.

Staff can Sametimes be very rude. I stayed at Motel 6 in Bridgeview IL and got to stay 3 months now you can only stay 14 days before having to leave and wait 72 hours before you can come back. It's really different now especially when you are homeless.

You get what you pay for. Dirty, roach traps on the corner of the bathroom, no amenities like shampoo. Heating/air conditioning doesn’t have continuous fan mode to drown out noise, both outside and inside noise.

The cleanliness and the fact that it’s not open but rather confined into a single building. Was a bit hesitating and worried about booking a motel because of the things I’ve heard but my friends and I felt pretty safe and comfortable! No coffee!! It was absent when we were there.

Room finally exterminated, I’ve been waiting for over an hour to get the room cleaned. When asked if I could change rooms because the power went out and the roach problem, O as told I would have to pay $20 to change rooms.

Staff was fine, double bed room one of the beds was comfortable. The only issue I had was cockroaches climbing out ofnthe plumbing. Didn't raise a fuss because its the cheapest room I saw in the area. Still better than red roof.

Check in was very fast. The ac/heat window unit fan made a ridiculous amount of noise. I should have asked for another room. The bathroom exhaust fan made a lot of noise too. The beds were spring style beds and not comfortable at all. If i needed a cheap place to get a nights rest and a shower it will due.

The room was clean, and parking was convenient just remember to get a pass to avoid being towed. The internet wasn’t working, and the cable service was poor, with many channels not functioning, so a discount would have been nice. My room hasn’t been vacuumed once during my one week stay at the motel. The only things that were done was the replacement of my bathroom towels and taking the trash in the trash bins.

When I asked the front desk about these amenities, the staff responded rudely and stated that, since my booking was made through Expedia, I should contact Expedia instead of them. This behavior was unprofessional and very disappointing. I booked this hotel based on the facilities advertised on the Expedia website, and the price I paid was influenced by those listed amenities. Since the promised services were not provided, I would like to know: What is Expedia’s policy when a hotel fails to provide the facilities advertised on your platform? WiFi down for 5 months, property/corporate not in hurry to fix. Last stay, desk person said to restart/reboot my devices. Yeah, right. Did not see warning on Expedia site WiFi was kaput.

The room was very clean. Ibwas happy with my stay. I must mention that the bleach was a lirtle harsh. It never really calmed down so i sleot with a mask on. Inwas too tired to ask for another room. I would say use less bleach. My eyes were burning.

I stayed for one night because of coming from the WWE NXT event. The area is nice and quiet with Dunkin Donuts and Subway on Elmhurst. The only complaint not having Wi-Fi. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

This is one of the better Motel 6 stays. The service wasn’t over the top, but what can you expect out of Motel 6? Overall, the stay was good. That’s all that mattered to us. The location a bit far but that’s okay bc the price was lower than others in town.

Only stayed one night out of the two nights that were booked. Found cockroaches in the room the first night. Overall worst experience at a motel. Still working on getting a refund because motel 6 wont refund.

Was having some remodeling done at out home so we decided to stay at a motel 6 cause there motto is "We'll leave the light on"........ So we chose the one located at 2881 Touhy ave. In Elk Grove ave . Terrible Customer actually Horrific management this lady was far from professional and was extremely rude was arguing with ny wife about parking and a tually told me to get off of my phone while i speak to her and then began rolling her eyes and pretty much flaring up her chest and telling us What. I di not understand why she kept saying that but i found out that is an invitation to fight SMH. Then as i hung up the phone with my 13 year old daughter who was telling me about her day , This so called Professional told us that she dosent feel like giving us a room and refused is service. Very disrespectful and very unprofessional shame on Motel 6 for hiring such a person and i believe she should not have the privilege pf being in such a position. And we know this is not her first time beacause s b e was being ruse to the maintenance worker at the same time ..... so she was multi tasking rudeness ......

Roaches come out from the bathtub drain overnight. They change towels every other day. Had to use a set for two days. Halls have a weird smell and the elevator, while functional, feels like is about to fall apart. Plenty of weird noises overnight.

It was basically everything you expected from a motel 6. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping is there daily to change towels and collect the trash. The beds are comfortable and they installed new windows in all of the rooms. Except for the fruit flies, Rollie pollies, and spiders in my room, I enjoyed my stay. I only wished all their rooms had at least a refrigerator and more than one microwave for use in the lobby, or at least clean the microwave out daily. Also no WIFI available during my entire stay.

This was the most disappointing Motels to stay in. First was the night manager was the poorest excuse for a front desk receptionist. No greeting no smile, not helpful in anyway shape or form. No internet with no explanation? Offer laundry facilities but no change to use them so have to use your card. Then to top off bed bugs. Have stayed in a few Motel 6. But will now think twice about any Motel 6 accommodation.

Overall- simple, clean and cheap. Subway and Dunkin next door. Plenty of other options within a couple miles. There’s a dude that’s outside pretty much all day- no harm, just strange. Another “resident” around as well. Decent stay. Fairly updated. CON: Free WiFi advertised, but not available- signs up and was mentioned at check-in. Odd in today’s age- but cell reception adequate, not a deal breaker. ALSO- no fridge/microwave unless opting for “premium” options.

The pictures of this property are accurate. You know what you are getting. The property is fine. But, I expected it to be easier to get into downtown Chicago, but the highways are very torn up and under construction. So, that is why the hotel was so cheap.

The room they put us in was dirty, rat feces all along the walls. Gross, we ask if we can be moved to another room, and the clerk tells us they have no more rooms, my wife looks online and they have plenty of rooms to reserve online, we show her the phone and available rooms, so she tells us she’s going to put us in another room and it’s going to cost us more, we both look at her and state we’re moving because the room is unfit to stay in. So she says ok. Awful service and rooms.

Before you book this property, please be aware that there is NO WIFI.They list free WiFi but when I got there, the man at the front desk told me there was no WiFi after I’d checked in, before I got the keycards. When I asked about it, he said the owner was fighting with the service provider and offered nothing except ‘do you want to leave?’. I had to purchase extra data for my stay. I have to stay nearby three more times this year and will be staying elsewhere.

My last experience here was terrible. There were roaches in the room. The front desk lady said the room next to me was blocked off some reason and I could use that room. I said no and she became very rude. Previous stays were good. I will never stay there again.

The room had no microwave, no refrigerator, and even the TV didn’t work. The room was unclean, smelled bad, and there were bugs crawling around. The only thing that worked properly was the AC. Worst of all, this place felt unsafe. There were random men hanging around near the entrance at night, acting shady and making inappropriate faces—especially concerning if you're with women or family. It was extremely uncomfortable. I stayed here for 3 nights, and it was an absolute nightmare.
DO NOT BOOK THIS MOTEL. Spend your money somewhere safe, clean, and honest.

The room stunk of rust. The bedframe was ducktaped and had cardboard under the mattress. The windows need replaced badly. The ac unit needs replaced. The room felt damp.

There was mold on the walls and the sheets had clearly not been washed as I found a bunch of black hair under the sheets when I pulled them back. The room also had a pretty strong, funky smell.

Clean, quiet but the tv had rolling lines no WiFi and the beds were springs covered in fabric not great, but for the price it was fine

The lady at the front desk needs to learn customer service. She was not nice when I told her I needed to stay another week for work. All she said is u can't stay past 14 days when I know someone there was there longer than me. I will never stay at motel 6 again. Apparently a paying customer money is not good enough past 2 weeks

The building has a weird smell, could be the carpet or the building. Or maybe it’s just old.

Gentleman at the front desk was great. Unfortunately, the first room we were in was in rough shape and then we realized there was a giant leak in the bathroom which had gotten all over the floor and towels. Front desk was able to find another room which unfortunately only had a smaller bed than we booked, but at least it did not have any leaks. The only issue with this room was the shower was almost impossible to fully turn off because of some issue with the dial.

I will say that my room itself seemed clean but the property was run down and the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it’s supposed to be a no smoking property. The tub had weird marks on it and the toilet made a strange sound for a very long time every time you flushed it. I think the worst part was that there was no Wi-Fi though. It is 2025, that is the most basic amenity that there is. The only reason that I think this stay was positive was because it was the cheapest hotel that I looked at and like I said, at least my room itself seemed to clean. I do not think I would stay there again though.

It is a good place to stop on my trucking route. Easy to get to and as good as any to park a truck and trailer.

This hotel was just a hotel! A place to lay your head at night. Definitely NOT enough covers on the bed! The bed was decent, definitely couldn’t stay a week there. The only amenities they had was a vending machine. Front desk was very friendly, so that was the best thing there!

The property smelled like old cigarettes. Dead roach in the room and floors felt sticky. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Good for semi parking and easy to get to from the interstate.

The hallways had a musty, cigarette smell and some of the carpet was torn up. The room wasnt the cleanest but it was good enough for a couple hours of sleep and a hot shower.

Fulfilled everything I needed it to be. Wifi was down, but that was fine.

The area around the hotel is very quiet and pleasant.

This is a basic motel they don’t have shampoo and do not have it for sale for you. If you arrive early, you can’t leave your bags. There is a slight mildew smell in the place. I like to save money but the whole time I was like I will pay the extra 50 bucks for something decent. I will not return.

The internet was good. The bed wasn't too bad. It is close to the airport.

Staff were friendly. Room was ok. Bed was comfy. However, some lights didn’t work. Some outlets were lose and wouldn’t charge and there was no wifi ad advertised.

Super friendly staff. Wifi was down for 2 weeks but we just used ours.

A cockroach in the sink welcomed us as we entered our room after almost 20 hours of flight, that is why we stayed. We just needed a bed, but one of them was very uncomfortable.

It was the worst experience ever. I wouldn't recommend this motel.

The room was only cleaned once during the entire week, and we had to repeatedly request clean towels because they were never provided proactively. The garbage cans in our room were never emptied unless we asked, which made things even more uncomfortable. To make matters worse, we saw cockroaches in the room, which is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. Overall, the service was poor, the cleanliness was lacking, and the attitude of the staff made it clear that guest comfort wasn’t a priority. Would not recommend and definitely will not return.

There was so much moisture everywhere. The sheets and pillowcases were damp the whole 14 hours we were there.

They need to exterminate for roaches and ants!!!!

They also lied and said we had already paid for our room, but we hadnt yet. Very shady outfit indeed and I wouldnt recommend them. Also, there were roaches in our bathroom, and the TV didn't work the first night either. Will never stay in a Motel 6 ever again! 😡

The lady staff was rude. The night shoft dude was pretty cool. Very nice and helpful. Theres a lot of moldi n the bathroom so that was a minus. The tooms were really clean and smelled good. That was a plus. Overall my pups were comfortable that all that matters.

Honestly there was so many different smells going on I was just ready to get to my room. It wasn’t terrible you definitely get what you pay for. I will say even with it being located by an airport we never had issues with that

Excellent stay.

If you need a clean place to stay with free parking that allows free pets this is the spot for you. It's a no frills and safe spot to lay your head down. The front desk is excellent and friendly and it's conveniently located near O'Hare. My cats enjoyed it.

Just an overall great experience! I would highly rate this to anyone looking for a motel.

I stayed here to be able to catch an early morning flight. Good location to my car rental location and then a quick ride to the airport.

Front desk staff no greeting not service oriented

What you would expect at a motel 6. We just spent a quick night sleep there in between layovers. Close to airport. The front desk night clerk was very nice & had a hot pot of coffee ready at the front for us even though we had an early bird flight.

There is no microwave and refrigerator in the room.

I'm going through a rough time and it's a safe cheap place to stay with my kids.

This motel didn't have an airport shuttle. Lyft from the airport was around $30 (not including tax and tip).

Moldy, dusty smell. Dirty. The photos bear no relation to the reality of dirty rooms with a horrible smell.

I'm going through a difficult time right now and it gives me and my children a safe place.

The gentleman upon check-in was extremely nice and pleasant Friday evening but the female working Saturday around 7:30pm was extremely rude. Also, our tv’s remote in room 208 never worked even though a gentleman came up the first night to try and fix it. It will not change the channel in the television so it remained in the weather channel our entire stay.

While it is very close to O'Hare airport, the room was quiet. The air-conditioning unit acted like a white noise machine. Still I did not hear the traffic. The parking lot could use a repaving. All in all, pretty good at a good price.

Had issues with bathroom. Minor but need attention. Plumber needed soon for slow drains. Drain in shower needed repair, which i did sk it could drain.
