Comfort Inn Federal Way - Seattle

The entire building could use better upkeep - from the lobby to the carpet in the rooms. The lobby smelt like burnt Marijuana the vast majority of our stay and felt dirty. The rooms were poorly kept with the carpet being duct taped down and the shower felt gross. Staff was unable to provide more than two fresh towels the entirety of our stay.

Hot tub was closed, people working in breakfast were not very friendly, food wasn’t that great! Someone either smoked inside or push the emergency exit so there was a whole lot of unnecessary drama right before we left!

We were not informed that the room would not be cleaned and amenities replaced. We were told they were out of soap and we had to use the shampoo to wash our hands and shower. They did not give us washcloths so we used the hand towels. We did ask them for clean towels but we had no coffee in our room the next day. The TV went out and I called the desk and received no help. We will never use this hotel again.

Terrible will never stay at this property ever again.. microwave did not work, the blow dryer did not work, the bed wer the worst and so uncomfortable and there was pee on the seat when we arrived.. absolutely disgusting !!!!!!!The staff was rude ...

The location is convenient. I enjoy how close the Comfort Inn is to a variety of places such as department stores, restaurants/great fast food places, and my job. Even though this is supposed to be a completely non-smoking establishment, there are still people smoking in their rooms! I think they should be fined for it! You need to have a Security staff member working nights to catch these rule breakers in the act! (just walk down the hallways and follow your nose!)

First it took 40 minutes to get checked in because they're extremely under staffed. Then I go to shower and there's literally NO hot water . The girl at the front told me it was because the building was old. No where in the description does it say there's no hot water . I stayed in rn 405. The remote didn't work for the TV. The phone didn't work to call the front desk. Id absolutely NEVER stay here again nor do I recommend anyone else do either. Id give it a zero if I could.

Pleasant

I loved the staff. They were always there to help with anything we needed. This hotel is located in a wonderful spot. There are a lot of places to shop and if you don’t want to drive, you can go to the transit center which is less than a mile away and catch a train or bus. Our time there was wonderful and I can’t express my gratitude enough.

Pets are allowed in these rooms and the rooms smelt like it. Carpet is dark so can’t see if has pet stains. Curtains are stained. Beds were clean but smell and carpet smelt like pets. I spray some fabric disinfectant, Clorox wipes the headboards and left window open for a whole day to try and air out the room smell. The hot tub was down, as well as 1 elevator. Breakfast was okay.

This property has very noisy rooms. Had to be moved. 1of2 elevators didn’t work. Pool was out of order. TV in second room had no noise to it. Staff at pm checkin had resorts no name tags . Don’t stay here too many better options.

Our biggest issue is at 8am housekeeping was trying to get into our room to clean... I've done housekeeping... Most times they know which rooms are already checked out. We won't be staying again.

The facility was not very clean. The lobby had spills and sticky floors, only one elevator was working, the other was marked with masking tape indicating out of order. The WiFi was iffy at best, tv channels were fuzzy and indicated poor signal strength. Overall it was livable but not what I expected.

The condition of this place is unacceptable…dirty throughout, with carpet literally being held together by duct tape, stained and worn dining chairs, and torn bedding that should have been replaced long ago. The elevator (only 1 of 2 available) was dirty and had graffiti, and the entire building smelled strongly of cigarette smoke mixed with body odor. The furniture in the entryway is old and worn down, giving a very poor first impression. Worst of all, there appeared to be black mold in the bathroom, which is a serious health concern. This was extremely disappointing and honestly shocking compared to what was advertised. I would not recommend staying here. It felt neglected and pieced together with quick fixes. I was not offered a refund or change of hotel when I called customer service.

I always love a good waffle. Those did taste good. I did feel watched and monitored the entire visit. I was particularly surprised to have my computer access through their FREE WIFI monitored and altered. Equally surprising was their ability to listen to your phone conversations. While I doubt it was the staff doing this (Most likely Kathy Norwick), I do blame the staff for allowing such a big violation of my privacy. She no doubt watched as I masterbated also.

Unethical practice I booked a suite at this place for 3 nights. At the checkin, I was given a standard room, but still charged the suite rate. They said that suite hasn't been available for the last 3 months and Expedia made a mistake. After I complained to expedia, the manager said that they will refund the difference between standard room and suite, but that was not done. Terrible experience!

The comfort inn was a great place to stay. Staff was very pleasant and nice. Very clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is a tv guide to know what channels. But other than that it was a great experience

The lobby smelled like urine. there was dog poop outside the elevator doors on the 2nd floor. The room also had a horrible smell and the sink leaked all over the floor. They moved our room and it still stunk. The pool smelled like wet dog. The manager was incredibly rude and inconsiderate. Did not care at all about any issues!

Smoke alarm kept beeping beginning at midnight. Reported it the next morning and had all day to change the battery but it was never fixed. Moved to another room, hard bed, internet did not work and shower water was not hot in either room. Just warm. TV had no guide and no access to other channels. Jacuzzi was closed

and it smelled like mold and horrible , Staff was VERY RUDE , No help whatsoever, I told them I need a room change, they gave me a room change the next morning after cause apparently it was “Full”. When I got the new room, Same results, Smelly, The pillows and sheets smelled USED and horrible, Me and my friend both have a very itchy body now for the whole day. I’d personally like a refund or some type of compensation for this terrible experience.

The room was fine but in the bathroom the toilet wasn’t working and was not flushing consistently and the bathtub wouldn’t drain properly, it had to be manually drained.

Overall it was good, but would of been nice to have heads up that the pool and hot tub were closed due to construction. The breakfast could of been better by having everything fully stocked and the lights on. the room was so dark half the lightbulbs did not work.

The staff was so nice and helpful. My son and I drove 6hrs from Spokane to Seattle, in a 22 ft Penske truck and we were so tried. They checked us in around 1am and he even walked me to area to park my truck. The rooms were clean, but warm. We sadly missed breakfast. But The 5hrs sleep helped. Morning staff was kind too.

The front desk service was efficient, friendly and handled all our needs. The room was kept clean and the beds were very comfortable. We were treated very well by staff who set out the breakfast each morning. The hotel is in a good location for shopping and very close to freeway and transit station should want to take day trips. Fairly average but clean hotel. Breakfast ran out quickly and was not replenished for a while. Located in a fairly ghetto area. But that's out of the hotel's control.

Hotel ended up having a huge water leak at midnight. The floor in our room was covered in water. We were happy to move rooms as I understand things happen, but the front desk staff was extremely rude in the middle of all of this. Pay the extra bit of money to go stay next door.

The room was clean and as described on website. Staff was courteous. The breakfast was a disappointment. Dry cereal, scrambled eggs, GREASY sausage and mini waffles. The waffles were horrendous in taste!! No fruit in sight.

When you enter the facility there’s this unpleasant smell that at first I thought it was just me, but the pungent smell was still present after my 2 week stay came to an end. Also, my room had a really distinct smell that I bought a febreze aerosol to make it a bit better. My room wasn’t equipped with a phone or hairdryer!

STAFF WHO CHECKED US IN WAS GREAT, YET THE OVER NIGHT AND MORNING WAS LESS HELPING. ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT BY THE 2ND DAY THERE A DOG IN NEXT ROOM THAT STANK UP THE HALLWAY. SUGGESTION. DOGS SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN HALLWAY.

The first room they gave us, the AC had a high-pitched squealing sound. So they moved us to a second room that had a chemical odor so strong we could not stay in the room. The carpet was still wet from the cleaning. They refuse to move us to an appropriate room, stating we had to pick one of those two rooms. They are only offering a 50% refund. The customer service at this hotel is atrocious!!! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone if this is how they treat their customers.

Old dirty carpet. Tub and sink drains had the plugs out and sitting in the tub and sink. Plug ins worn. Cords would not stay in them. The tv had to be turned on by an employee and explained on how to use it. The employee was nice about this and prompt.

The hotel was clean, friendly staff great prices and the amenities they offered with breakfast i dont think i could have found a better offer. The only thing I will say is getting hooked up to wifi was a pain as it made you go to this link and it took 5 steps plus to get accessed to the wifi then didnt work but not worth docking stars as everything else was perfect.

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for in this situation. The pictures online are not the same as what you get in real life. Pictures depict a clean, updated environment. Instead you get dirty carpet, holes in the wall, electrical tape in place of transition strip, and a broken TV. At least the AC worked to get rid of the smoke smell.

It’s conveniently located near the performing arts center. It felt safe and clean and the room was spacious though definitely worn and dated. It felt pretty overpriced for the off-season in a suburb.

It was a very noisy evening for a Wednesday. Motorcycles zooming down the street, kids outside making noise, guests loudly arriving, and this is after 11pm.

Asked staff for an ice bucket 3 times before they handed over some sort of bucket that was not an ice bucket. When asked the 2nd time, front desk said he would bring one if he could find one and never followed up. Room had no trash bin. When extended stay, asked the front desk for new sheets and never got any. Saw housekeeping and asked for sheets, but she said the people that had them went home for the day. Fan in bathroom was broken.

A decent safe place

Very outdated and falling apart, pictures of rooms are false representation. Tv only had one channel. The room smells very musty and you can smell the moisture in the air. The side of the bathtub had a plastic cover on it that continuously fell off and you could see the piping underneath. All the paint on the walls were chipped and the bed was very uncomfortable. Room service didn't come and had to request new towels and garbage bags. This was the worst decision to stay here and staff was not helpful or friendly.

This hotel looked better in the pictures than in person. Our room had a terrible smell that hit us in the face when we opened the door. We really should have gone back to the front desk and asked for a different room, but we were tired and just wanted to settle down for bed. We sort of got used to the smell after a few minutes. But every time we left the room and came back, it would hit again. By morning, we figured out that a couple of the pillows, which we hadn't used, seemed to be the source of most of the smell, so we took them to the front desk. We were offered replacement pillows, but were about to check out anyway. Of course, the room still smelled after the pillows were removed. I suspect that the problem extended beyond just those two pillows. The carpet in the room felt kind of sticky. I'm really not sure how housekeeping felt OK releasing that room for occupancy - there's no way they didn't smell it when they were prepping the room. The staff was friendly and the hotel was otherwise fine. Just wish we'd requested a different room when we arrived. This may have been a one-off experience, but I would probably try a different hotel the next time I pass through the area.

This property is close to the Federal Way Downtown Transit Center which makes it easy to get to the property by bus from SeaTac airport. The room was nice, quiet, close to shopping and dining, and I felt comfortable at night walking around the property, much better than my stay in the Tacoma Dome area. My experience was so good, I've already made reservations at the same property for next month.

Comfort inn was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. The ac was broke from the minute we got there and we were told it was a precious known issue yet still let us check in and they were booked and had no other rooms available. We were promised first thing in the morning at 8 am the maintenance guy would be there to look at the ac. No one ever showed up. Our room was dirty like filthy dirty my kids’ feet were filthy, there were rats running around on the first floor. We ended up checking out due to all the above issues. We would told upon departure a manager would get ahold of us for reimbursement since we were booked the following 3 nights, but no one has reached out. No one from hotels.com or I have been able to reach anyone that can help. Hotels.com has been awesome trying to help. I finally got ahold of a manager and I told him the story and he acted like he was clueless about the situation even though I’ve called 3 times a day since the incident. He thing proceeded to “get disconnected” then stopped answering when I called back. This place is absolutely horrible DO NOT book!

Elevators were small, had problems with them coming up and down to their levels. Also, there was a hot tub was completely unable to use it because it was down.

For starters, the TV was horrible, the curtains were falling off of the rod, the carpets in the hallways and stairwells were dirty, the pool area was very dirty, the hot tub was closed down, a couple of the ice machines were not working half the time, the dryer in the laundry room was not working, the Internet didn’t work very well, the hotel was very noisy, when I was checking out, and I made a complaint to the lady at the front desk she just looked at me with this dirty look on her face and then when I asked her for the supervisor‘s name, she had a smug look on her face and said just get that card right there that has the name on it and she didn’t even apologize that I had a unpleasant stay!! it was not worth the money at all!!

I expected a typical business hotel. This place has t been updated since ~1985. Felt sketchy. Wouldn’t stay they as a woman traveling alone again…though I did survive.

The room was advertised as 330 sq feet, which it probably was, but it really was very small. The elevators are sketchy, the beds are rock hard and the hot tub was closed. As for the overall experience; the staff was great, the breakfast didn’t make me sick and the pool was a blast.

I liked the price and the walkable distance to food, shops, park, theater, etc. What I did not like was the hallways and stairs needed vacuuming. In our room something other than tape to transition tile and carpet. Drain plug for sink so the room is not smelly. Shower facet is on incorrectly you either get scalding hot or cold nothing in between. But we made due and it checked all the boxes for what we needed. Breakfast was good and there was always plenty, with a nice area to eat it. Thanks for the stay.

It looked like someone was living in the back parking lot. In an old RV. There was some construction going on to the hotel at one time but had stop unfinished. And the RV was parked against the building and look like they were climbing in at the indoor pool and shower and stuff.

Also, we only got the Comfort Inn for your hottub. I called to make sure it would be operational for our visit a FEW times before the day we came and was constantly assured it would be. It wasn't. Also, breakfast wasn't kept up with. We sat in the dinning room for almost an hour as we were told repeatedly that eggs and sausage would be refilled as many others complained.l among themselves. Then two large containers of milk also ran out before we finally got yogurt, which I was told had been out quite some time. Still no sausage. I asked the front desk twice over the hour+ when we could expect more milk/eggs/sausage (the majority of breakfast short of the waffles). There was no rail for the curtains? They were ethically fake and had to stay open 24/7 with another behind them that didnt fully close. Bright light right in the fave just so long after dawn. Creeper guy wandering the parking lot, coming just short of asking my bff and I for elicit favors right in the front of the hotel. We didn't know him in any way. I feel cheated of my staycation. There are nicer hotels within walking distance for around the same price.
