Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with some guests praising the staff, cleanliness, and breakfast, while others express dissatisfaction with the condition of the rooms, noise levels, and overall value. The property appears to be older and in need of updates, which is a common complaint among guests.
- Friendly and helpful staff, particularly Bekki at the front desk
- Good breakfast with a variety of options
- Outdated and dirty rooms with a musty smell
- Noise from trains and other guests

Clean welcom8ng
- 5/5
No complaints where we stayed in the back of the hotel vs. the front of the hotel. I had the rest of my family stay in the suite in front of the hotel and complained about the train going by and police activity on the roads.
- 5/5
Clean comfortable place with extra big rooms. Free Breakfast was outstanding with wide variety and staff on site to get what you need. Friendly staff said hello to everyone. Old school place with good updates.
- 5/5
I found this hotel one of the Best Western hotels I have stayed at. It was very clean and just a beautiful place.
- 4/5
Clean, quiet, helpful staff, have stayed there before and will be back again
- 3/5
The hotel was very old and not updated at all and need to be cleaned all sinks were clogged and the carpet was terrible and did not smell good and for the price that we paid I think we were overcharged!! for sure not visiting again
- 2/5
Old property. Overpriced. Incredibly small room, and you must like to hear trains!
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay in this small mountain town.
- 3/5
Calling Musi Moore right next to a road also a lot of doors being slammed at night and in the middle of the night keeping us awake
- 4/5
Grateful for the safe and clean lodging!
- 5/5
Night staff was super helpful as we checked in and got recommendations for the next day.
- 5/5
Was good
- 5/5
Is no breakfast
- 3/5
This property is outdated and next to the train tracks. Staff was nice and welcoming. Bed was comfortable. Sofa bed was questionable because it was old and stained.
- 5/5
Good value, nice safe, clean solid hotel with an excellent breakfast.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, staff helpful and welcoming, and clean rooms with good A/C and heater.

- 5/5
I love the place. It's clean and well maintained. The breakfast was great too.
- 5/5
Room was nice. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great.
- 3/5
The staff are nice. But the room and staff is too old. The bed feels not good. The breakfast is very good. I like it.
- 3/5
Room itself was clean. Sheets and pillow cases were old and very thin. Mattress was good. Very old hotel so walls were thin and very noisy. Could really use a complete overhaul! Best Western used to be such a nice mid-level hotel, not our experience this road trip.
- 0.5/5
This hotel is not worth the money! Although it looks nice, it’s run down! The linens are cold and thread bare, the rooms weren’t super clean and the staff at the front desk was extremely rude! I’m a diamond select member and they didn’t care!
- 3/5
The biggest issue is the trains that kept coming by during the day and night and early morning. Very close to hotel and load engines and horns. But it is a city built around the tracks so I guess it is to be expected. But it was nit a pleasant stay and on our way back thru this area 2 weeks later we opted to drive 38 more miles west to the LA Quinta to stay which was much more quiet and a very nice hotel especially compared to the more ruined down pony solder best western. The price was affordable. The was the best part to the hotel.
- 4/5
The hotel had combined 2 rooms to make our suite. One side had a living room area with a sofa bed, a tv, desk area & table with 2 chairs. The other was a bedroom. There was a bathroom in each, so that was a nice surprise. It is an older motel, but they maintain it well. Breakfast included a nice selection including eggs, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, mini muffins & breads.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
I broke my left leg hiking and had to have a ADA room for next 8-days. With no earlier resevation made, it was a last minute urgent accomodations need. It was the weekend and all ADA rooms were reserved prior. But some how the wonderful staff went out of their way to make the accomodations happen! The breakfasts were good. The location on Historic Route 66 is close to everything.
- 3/5
If you dreams about trains- go for it
- 5/5
The breakfast was really good and the property was clean and well-maintained.
- 5/5
The pool and the food are really good
- 5/5
It’s sad, but it might be coming to an end our affair with the Matterhorn thank you for all the memories and the beautiful times and when we come back, we will always consider our home on the corner at the Matterhorn Inn.
- 4/5
Good breakfast for this kind of hotel. Room was good, do prefer actual door instead of the sliding style however. Also would be nice to have laundry services available
- 5/5
A nice hotel for the price. Our problem was breakfast ending at 8:30! Too early for us. Other than that AOK.
- 5/5
Very nice stay, liked it a lot
- 5/5
Clean rooms everything was there when needed and staff were very helpful and pool nd breakfast was great 👍👍
- 5/5
No thank you. You don’t have an opt out option
- 1/5
I called the front desk from the room phone several times and was never connected. The internet disconnected several times, and I had to walk to the front desk to speak to someone because no one ever answered the phone. Once I found someone, they said there was nothing they could do to remedy the situation, and suggested I use my phone as a hotspot. I told her they were not getting 5 stars for sure.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice. The room was beautiful and quiet. We loved it all. Nothing

While the hotel was renovated several years ago, it's still an old hotel with small rooms. Having said that, it seemed clean. Our biggest concern was the railroad track across the road. Trains rumbled through frequently, usually waking us up. The other issue was our bed sheets. They seemed old, thin, and yellowed. On a positive note, a very nice large area for breakfast. Breakfast was very good!
- 3/5
The bed was hard as a rock.
- 3/5
Close to where we needed to be. The bed was hard as a rock.
- 1/5
Our room was dirty, with urine stains in the bathroom. Sheets were dirty and stained with hair in the bed. Pillow cases were yellow. The room was so dirty and unpleasant we did not end up staying there. We requested a cancellation and went somewhere else.
- 5/5
Great coffee!
- 5/5
Great coffee!
- 5/5
Appreciated finding it.
- 4/5
Clean room. Staff was nice. Breakfast was fresh and good. Air conditioning was nice and cool.
- 3/5
The hotel was a lower price that other choices so it was friendly to our budget. It was definitely not a first class experience. The hotel was a long way from the main highway and you wind around to find it. It is a pretty old facility. The rooms felt old and worn out. It felt safe and clean overall. The pool is heated but you go out to another building to get to it. That seemed a bit odd and maybe not super safe at night. Breakfast was also in the other building but it was pretty good. Overall, if you need a lower price, it is not bad for the money.
- 5/5
Amazing hot breakfast. Nice staff. Decent rooms. Train across the street, so a little noise, but worked for us.
- 4/5
Walls pretty thin lots of freaky things going on, our bed sheet had a stain on it which was kind of gross shower head was not well maintained but atleast it was a cheap stay
- 5/5
alright breakfast, clean room & air condition worked
- 4/5
Thank goodness it had an actual tub with a stopper for a long bath after my 12 hour drive. Water was hot too. Nice little area to let the dog out. All in all a great little place to rest up and refuel and get back on the road.
- 3/5
Very poor customer service for a handicapped person. Must be 700 or 800 feet from the room I had. Staff was rude.
- 5/5
The pool was available and nice! The hot tub was warm and in perfect working condition! The room was comfortable and clean. The staff that checked us in were accommodating to our needs since we were concerned about our uhaul and parking situation. I highly recommend this location for a great nights rest and relaxation after driving miles! I also have to give kudos to the location for dinner options available nearby within walking distance! Oh my gosh and rhe breakfast!!! Hands down Amazing!
- 4/5
Great place to stay
- 4/5
Room is clean, staff is nice, breakfast is ok.
- 3/5
For the price I paid, i was disappointed in the quality of the room and its size….i also got charged a pet fee and the bed already looked dirty when we got into the room. The bathroom is very outdated. Room is small, we got a king bed. Clean but just quality wise it wasn’t worth the price. I went to a much nicer and updated motel down the road for cheaper and no pet fee
- 5/5
Breakfast was better than expected. Well maintained and close to a diner and tap room
- 4/5
Great pricing and friendly staff
- 4/5
Certainly an old property and requires an update. At least meet the current needs such as USB / C-pprts for cell phone charging. Definitely the bed is OLD and requires an update
- 3/5
Outdoors to go to pool. No exercise area
- 5/5
Good amd cheap, definitely did its jon

I enjoyed my stay , quiet and relaxing.
- 5/5
Clean, perfect for our one night stay with kids. Friendly staff
- 5/5
This place was a pleasant surprise. A breath of fresh air. Everything exceeded our expectations. The room, the breakfast, the pool, the hot tub, the friendly staff. Aces across the board.
- 5/5
When you drive up, don't judge this book by the cover. We were a bit concerned because it looked older and there were homeless people walking on the main road. There is a train track very close by so bring a sound machine. We only stayed one night and had the King Suite!! This little gem was amazing. Two separate bathrooms and showers, with vanities. We loved this!! This hotel is located right on the road that leads to the Grand Canyon. Leave early and the drive is beautiful and only an hour away! The continental breakfast is located in the building next to the hotel. Very clean, great food, and easy to get in and out.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff at the front desk and at breakfast were friendly.
- 3/5
Train noise
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing

Staff was efficient. Check in quick. Pool and spa were older but enjoyable. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and quiet. Very convenient location too
- 4/5
The breakfast actually made me sick
- 5/5
Delicious breakfast, clean pool, friendly staff, great room.
- 4/5
Place was just fine. Great breakfast.
- 5/5
For the price things where great
- 4/5
It’s an older hotel, but clean and comfy. Breakfast room could use an attendant. Within walking distance of a couple restaurants.
- 5/5
Highly recommend this hotel great clean room with excellent amenities, plus excellent breakfast A*
- 4/5
Great for pets. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast adequate
- 5/5

- 5/5
Very nice place. Staff was very helpful.

- 5/5
The breakfast was fine just wanted bacon everything was delicious and fresh i really like staying in best westerns.
- 4/5
Clean room. Service was great.
- 5/5
It was great stay. Pool was warm for kids
- 2/5
Very run down, they say pet friendly but put us on second floor as far away from elevators as possible. Will not go back
- 5/5
Hotel was conveniently located and clean. Pool and jacuzzi was hot and relaxing. Breakfast was good as well.
- 4/5
I was not expecting the awkwardly small room, and the remote for the TV didn't work very well, but other it was a good stay. The breakfast was pretty good and the indoor pool was a hit with my daughter.
- 4/5
Breakfast was excellent
- 4/5
BW was good. Comfortable bed. Easy parking.
- 5/5
This was an excellent location for an overnight stay... great staff, pet friendly, wonderful and clean room, super comfy bed, and a good breakfast offering as well... well done and thank you.
- 4/5
Room was clean breakfast was good did not use pool or hot tub looked nice but main reason was there were small children and there was no bathroom any where in the common areas or the lobby area ...never seen a hotel without a bathroom in the lobby breakfast area especially so you could wash your hands before or after eating and pool area where a lot of little children can have accidents anytime seems to be a sanitary issue to me they should think about renting a portable toilet and wash station for outside or build one. Otherwise property was good
- 3/5
Everything was good, except the bathroom door has big gap between floor to bottom of slide door. Also, You could hear people talking next door.
- 5/5
The internet was somewhat slow but it worked I did not experience the breakfast so I can't comment
- 4/5
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean and fresh. Water pressure was great in the shower. Pool and hot tub are great especially for families with kids. Breakfast in minimal but it does have multiple options to choose from including a pancake maker.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable, pool and hot tub are covered, breakfast in its own building which had lots of room, several hot items as well as the usual for breakfast, I’ll definitely stay again
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast. Room was clean but hallway has some light smell.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
The room was amazing, loved the location, breakfast was wonderful, lots to choose from. We didn't use the pool but the heated pool was just so cool!!
- 4/5
Nice location, great staff. Appreciated the breakfast and coffee. The refrigerator in our room was not working, and the front desk person was gracious and got it switched out for one that did work while we were out for dinner. The hotel was nice, but honestly, it's an old building. The ceiling in the room seemed lower than in more modern places. They've done a great job with renovations and decorating, however.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Room was clean and comfortable, pool was great, breakfast in separate building with lots of room, several hot choices. I'd stay again
- 5/5
Easy check in and check out, comfortable bed, very clean and spacious. Good breakfast selection.
- 5/5
Need’s repairs and upgrades
- 5/5
Very good restaurant near by, pool was nice
- 5/5
Breakfast was awesome!
- 4.5/5
Great breakfast and pool area. Hot tub was almost too hot to sit in.
- 4.5/5
Great breakfast and pool area. Hot tub was almost too hot to sit in.
- 5/5
Was a very nice hotel for the price. A lot of places nearby and loved the indoor pool being that it was snowing. The room was clean and spacious. Definitely would stay again, staff were also really kind.
- 4/5
Good air conditioning and great staff
- 4/5
All staff were friendly. Room was as adverstised, very nice to have the 2 bathroom room. Sofa bed mattress was painfully thin. The regular bed mattress was good. There are train tracks nearby. Breakfast had a lot of options that were edible. Pool and hot tub were fine. Hotel is in older condition but clean and well managed.
- 3.5/5
Location, decor, breakfast was awesome. Staff were very helpful. Room dark and outdated. Awkward moving in room when entrance door was imposing on room space. Bed not comfortable.
- 4/5
Room was clean but small. Walls are thin could hear everything that was going on around the room. Pool and breakfast are in a separated building. Breakfast was really good!
- 5/5
Very good value and location was great for our needs.
- 4/5
The air worked fine . You would need transportation for shopping.
- 3/5
It is an older hotel and it looked really cute from the outside, it's right on Route 66. We travel with our small dog and they put us in a room designated for pets. The room smelled and there were spots that smelled like urine and we ofcourse had to pay extra for this room for pets. the hallways and stairs were also very dirty. The staff in the morning was not the friendliest but the lady who checked us in the night before was really nice. I would not stay there again because we would have to have out dong and I would not want to stay in a "dog: room but I wonder if the other rooms were as bad as ours was. The breakfast room was pretty nice and it was a regular hotel breakfast.
- 5/5
Clean but beds are hard, staff was nice, room was hot. Close to restaurants
- 5/5
Breakfast was a highlight
- 3/5
It was an okay stay. Did not get much sleep due to the noise from the trains running twice an hour all night. Try to get a room at the back of the hotel. Our room was in the front and heard the train all night. The white towels are kind of a dingy light gray.
- 3/5
Older property. Staff was personable and professional. Rooms are small but updated and comfortable. Room did not have microwave or coffee maker. There was a small fridge. There are active train tracks across the street but did not disturb my sleep time. I was disappointed that there was no coffee maker as I'm an early morning riser.
- 5/5
Small room but had everything we needed.
- 3/5
This hotel serves it's purpose. It is a place to sleep and is clean. Nothing fancy but cant beat the price if you are just wanting to rest your head
- 5/5
No complaints.
- 4/5
The breakfast was really good. The noise from traffic (vehicles) and the train. Parking was congested, someone starched my door with their door.
- 2.5/5
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was not clean. Very bad smell in the room. Very small room. Shower/ tub dirty
- 5/5
It would have been nice to have a microwave in room.
- 5/5
Pet friendly, clean place, good breakfast, staff friendly & helpful, the bathroom was a little small in my room, pool was refreshing, however, it is indoor & was lacking ventilation... my eyes began burning within just a few minutes, overall a good stay & I would recommend
- 5/5
Pet friendly!
- 5/5
All the staff we encountered from the check in to the breakfast and maintenance were friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean. Good affordable stay.
- 5/5
Clean room and the breakfast was wonderful.
- 5/5
We had a nice stay! The pool area was a bit chlorinated! I couldn't stand to go inside because my eyes were burning. Our 2 boys swam and had a great time. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great! Nice hotel and was priced very well. Thanks so much!
- 5/5
Yes all ok
- 4/5
Was right on route 66. Good breakfast. Pool and hot tub were nice.
- 5/5
The room was very nice! Beds comfortable. A definite bargain & the breakfast bar excellent! Would recommmens to other friends!
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
Spacious room and very helpful staff
- 5/5
Pet friendly area was great. Rooms,, staff
- 5/5
Bekki at the front desk was awesome. She gave us a lot of information about places in Flagstaff since it was our first time there.
- 3/5
Good room, for the money. Nice hotel staff
- 4/5
Very Clean
- 5/5
Clean room, we enjoyed all amenities, especially the hot tub and the wide variety of options at breakfast, and the front desk staff were extremely kind.
- 5/5
Convient, Nice room, friendly staff.
- 3/5
room cleanig service and technical service was not available. The most important thing was the noise of train horn because the hotel is located close to train station
- 3/5
We got the king suite, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the room had two bathrooms. We could definitely fit the entire family if we wanted to, although it was just the two of us. The breakfast is located in a separate building next-door and only operates until 8:30am, but was very good. I would rate this place a 5/5, if not for the trains that blew their horns all night! There was only one night that we actually slept. But the room was cheap, almost too cheap; we thought maybe we arrived during an off-season. But no, after staying one night, we thoroughly understood why a hotel with such good amenities/ room was offered at a one star rate. The staff was wonderful, the hotel itself was great… if only those darn trains weren’t so horn happy😂
- 5/5
Renovated, clean, well-maintained. Courteous staff. It was snowing during my stay and they were early to clear the walkway outside. Good for the money
- 3/5
While the room was large for our group and the breakfast was nice, there were a few things I wish I had known before booking. 1) They allow pets, and there was dog hair all over the sofa in our room 2) It is directly across from the railway, and the trains go by HOURLY all night which was incredibly loud 3) The "indoor pool and hot tub" is actually in a separate building, not attached to the hotel. So, without any robes you are required to run cold to the pool house in your shoes, and then run back again when finished. And the pool was COLD.
- 4.5/5
Breakfast was tasty, the eggs were great but just hoping the sausage would be browned a bit more. The bed and pillows were firm and supportive. The bathroom was a tad close but it was clean and the towels were absorbent. The room was a bit small but it did accommodate all of my things for the night. Only a bit of noise from passing trains but the sound surrounds Route 66 properties. Generally it could be ignored until the 435 rolls through.
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 4/5
The staff was kind at the late hour we arrived.
- 3/5
The hotel needs to pickup the dog poop.
- 4/5
Great place to spend the night during travels
- 2/5
Staff good! But really poor breakfast, bad taste, rooms are old and bathroom door can’t be locked, rooms smells really bad.
- 3/5
Room was ok, no microwave that was in the room description. Person at front desk was very nice.
- 5/5
Room was huge…everything was nice…bed was actually comfortable
- 4/5
great breakfast
- 4/5
Little dated. AC / Heat loud, but clean and served purpose
- 5/5
Super clean room, great location, and good food around. Loved it! 😊
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean. The staff was very helpful. Pool area was well maintained. Breakfast was great with a good variety.
- 2/5
How in the world does this place have an 8.4 rating? It should be maybe a 4. Do they have a bunch of fake ratings? It is very old and dingy. The carpet looks like it is from the 70’s and condition makes me think it hasn’t been changed since then. The duvet was stained. The walls are old and been look like they have been patched and painted dozens of times. The breakfast was mediocre. The fruit was old and inedible. The sausage looked really weird so I didn’t try it. This place is far from the worst place I have ever stayed but it is nowhere near the 8.4 rating when I booked it.
- 5/5
Very clean very nice comfortable
- 2/5
Hotel was overall unclean. The room smelled musty. Breakfast was not good. One of the maids even made an angry face as we walked by and was noticeably annoyed.
- 4/5
The heater was noisy. It was next to busy train tracks. The room was small.
- 2/5
The breakfast was put away an hour before the scheduled end time on more than one occasion.
- 5/5
Check in was a pleasant experience, Gal at front desk was a breeze, very professional and great personality, room was a bit dated but clean so no complaints there, dog friendly and well kept property. Sauna was not hot so no adventure there but breakfast was on point gal running the area was attentive and kept clean after every one was done at there tables. Would stay again Absolutely!
- 5/5
The rooms were nice, the pool was heated and the breakfast was excellent.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Staff was helpful.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 3/5
the large room suite....the breakfast, the breakfast staff
- 3/5
The room was dated but fairly in good condition.
- 4/5
The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the EV charger was welcome! No lobby bathroom. Amusingly right after I asked during check-in, another visitor came in looking for a bathroom.
- 5/5
Was good
- 4/5
Room size was small and bathrooms were so small
- 3.5/5
Easy access to interstate. Train schedule. I could hear about every train that went through town.
- 5/5
Small
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly they are pets friendly and the pool and breakfast were amazing
- 3/5
Bed was soft , shower / bath could use some maintenance water wasn’t going down in shower , water pressure to slow … ok got the price I guesss close to attractions
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. I love the healthy options with the sugar free syrup. The pancake machine was fun to watch. Sugar free options really made it worth while.
- 4/5
Easy check in and pool and hot tub enclosed was a nice touch with the cold and snow. Breakfast was ok.
- 3/5
Employees are not that friendly. Breakfast ok. Eggs were cold
- 5/5
The breakfast area is quite spacious, but on our last day it was very crowded and it was difficult to get the food. I want to highlight that the only employee restocking breakfast was working very hard and always had a smile on his face, but it’s impossible for one person to handle everything alone. I would suggest hiring one more staff member to help during busy times. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel.
- 2/5
Dirty room. There was old chips on the carpet. And entrance carpet was full of animal hair and dirt. I get it, it can get dirty but it was the same for days. Housekeeping was rude. Pool area was tiny and it was painful to be in the room. You could barely see due to the fog and chlorine chemicals made it hard to breath. I was sick all night due to the short visit to the area. Its safe to say that I will not be staying here again.
- 1.5/5
great competent staff. excellent breakfast. Property is long in the tooth and should really be updated, cleaned. For the price point, which was expensive, motel 6 is generally much cleaner. It's not the cleaning staff's problem, just the BW seems to have abandoned the property. The staff was extremely competent. Appreciated that we could bring the dog, but seems like Best Western has totally written off this property.- old, tacky paint, worn. I've never stayed in a best Western that was allowed to be so run down. Disappointed that we spent so much on this property ($430 for 2 nights) when much better properties and available at much lower rates.
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
everything was good. too many trains!!
- 0.5/5
I would say the price was some what reasonable. However it didn’t make up with what my niece experienced. I ordered a crib for my 1 year old niece. Next morning she woke up with lots of bed bugs bite in her belly. She was bitten all over poor baby was suffering from those bites.
- 3/5
We were told the breakfast would be weekend hours and end at 9am since it was new years breakfast ended at 8. Didn't get breakfast went at 830 and they were already cleaning up. Website says it has a washer and dryer thats why we booked but after check in i asked where the laundry was located and was informed they didn't have any. I asked to cancel my booking and was told i couldn't. The pool and breakfast are not attached to the main hotel. Theres no covered walkway when its cold and raining. Suitcases wont roll on the carpet. Hot water goes in and out.

Clean room & staff every friendly
- 5/5
Good breakfast, it was in a separate building as was the pool and hot tub but, all was very nice. Would stay again. Very professional staff.
- 3/5
Location was good. Old. Needs updated.
- 3/5
Rooms were small, amenities not how they were advertised.
- 5/5
Good room, comfy bed. We didn't check in 'til 8pm. Shower is good. Heat/AC is not too loud. All their pet friendly rooms are carpetless, btw.
- 5/5
All was good Parking lot
- 2/5
Check in was easy and ladies were friendly. One of the beds was broken, half the bed was collapsed. We were so tired we made the best of it but wish they were proactive and ensured their rooms are fit to be used before renting out.
- 3.5/5
Kids loved the pool. Pool towels are provided. There is an elevator to second floor. Breakfast was okay. Heater worked well, beds were comfortable. Trains passing by at night weren’t an issue. Good Chinese restaurant around the corner (Golden Dragon) A translucent door between bathroom and main room means anyone using the bathroom at night wakes everyone up, so we tried to use it in the dark as much as possible. We were awoken in the morning by loud shower noise from a nearby room. Good thing we were waking up anyway.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 3.5/5
Really good breakfast and pool and jacuzzi was nice Dog spot should have been fenced in so my dog could run around and get some exercise
- 4/5
We really liked the pool, and they were able to keep us all close together with our rooms.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
Great room but trains go by constantly at night. It kept my husband and I awake.
- 4/5
Breakfast was cold, bread was stale, no soap was in the bathroom to wash hands, the room had an over powering scent of men’s cologne, when checking in one lady was extremely nice while the other completely ignored me why buying jewelry
- 5/5
Hotel was close to lots of places. Breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and quiet. Front desk staff was very helpful personnel we
- 1/5
Breakfast was not only in a completely separate building but was also less then ideal (bland sausage links, hard omelette, bad tasting green bell pepper gravy for biscuits), not much hospitality from reception, very noisy upstairs and across the hall neighbors. Not at all what I expected for the price.
- 4/5
The free breakfast was vast and tasty. The room was warm and quiet. Everything was clean and cozy, free adequate parking and centrally located on famous Route 66!
- 5/5
The breakfast was plentiful. There was fruit cocktail, egg and cheese folded taco style, and sausage patties. The pancake machine was no touch. Clean room. No coffee machine inside the room though. It was a great stay. The train is close by so you sleep could be a problem if you are sensitive to outside noise.
- 3/5
Was good ..not enough staff to work the breakfast area..tables not cleaned fast enough for the crowd
- 5/5
Kind & helpful staff, clean facility and decent breakfast options
- 3/5
It was smelly
- 2/5
The shower knob required front desk staff to jiggle to make it work. The shower itself was dirty...had pubic hair in it. The sink was slow draining. Be early for breakfast because they run out of food. Indoor pool is in another building.
- 5/5
I’ve done this once. Not doing it again
- 5/5
your breakfast is phenomenal I posted it on Instagram cuz I want everybody to know You guys got the best breakfast in Flagstaff for a hotel!
- 5/5
Front Desk staff was very nice!
- 3/5
The hotel was incredibly noisy. Bathrooms were so small you could barely shut the door once you entered. Staff was unimpressive at the front desk. I would not stay here again.
- 3/5
Staff were very friendly, room was clean and had all the things we needed. Our only issues were breakfast was cold (and pancake machine didn’t work two of the days) and the train that went by all night. Otherwise we don’t spent a lot of time at the hotel- it was a place to lay our head and we are grateful for that.
- 5/5
yes
- 5/5
A very nice room, terrific staff. We will stay here again.
- 5/5
Awesome stay! Best western is usually my go to. Great spot overall
- 5/5
Our stay at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites was great! The staff were welcoming and made check-in easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet — exactly what we needed after a long day of travel. The breakfast was surprisingly good with plenty of options, and the dining area was well-maintained. The location was convenient for exploring Flagstaff and nearby attractions. Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and value — would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
I had a wonderful room that was very organized and spacious.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful room that was very organized and spacious.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfy. Breakfasts were good too with hommade green chili sausage gravy. Yum!
- 2/5
It should be more clean
- 2/5
Room smelled bad, didn't feel clean. Maybe OK for the money but not for me.
- 4/5
This is an older hotel but the room was in good shape has been updated and maintained. The full breakfast was as advertised and was very good. A couple of draw backs however, the room is on smaller size; and entry and exit onto property can be just a little awkward. Also, the breakfast was servered in another building but I didn't find that a problem.
- 4/5
Friendly guests and atmosphere.
- 4/5
Stay was good. Rooms need a good cleaning and updated. Breakfast was good. Friendly check in.
- 5/5
yes
- 4/5
The staff was great, breakfast was good, the room was clean, the location was ok but a lot of train traffic noise
- 1/5
The linens; bedding and towels need a refresh. The mattresses were also old and lumpy. The reviews online didn’t match my experience. The check in staff were friendly.
- 1/5
We entered the room and were immediately overcome with the smell of urine. It was terrible. The room was dingy and dated. I’m not a fussy person. But was afraid to
- 4/5
This was a very nice hotel, but the property description did not include the fact that the hotel is right next to a train track and the noisy train runs all night
- 5/5
Great property
- 3/5
Don't be deceived! This is a very old hotel. The pictures only make it look modern with the new-ish furniture and decor, but the building itself is old and run-down! Not worth the price. Located on HWY 66, right next to a train that runs every few minutes and honks. The building is so old that the room smells old, the bathtub was leaking water, the windows were so filthy we could barely see out, and the door safety lock was broken. Breakfast was indeed a buffet: scrambled eggs, biscuits, mushroom gravy, and all you can eat bacon, but we didn't feel too good after eating it. Must be low quality food if they can afford for all their guests to eat as much as they want! Overall, I honestly have nothing positive to say about this place. I will never stay here again and would not recommend to anyone!
- 4/5
Room was clean and spacious. Had everything we needed including a free breakfast that’s was kept up. Impressive and would stay again.
- 3/5
No microwave and the plug at the sink area was a receptacle over the drywall!
- 3/5
First room was stinky, smelled of mold and was very dusty. I took a damp paper towel to everything. Even the elevator stunk. They were quick to allow a room change though and the second room was better. The hotel is hard to get in and out of. Plus, it's next to a busy train track. It's an older outdated hotel in need of updating.
- 4/5
Older Best Western Hotel, good upgrades, but definitely older and a little dated. Bathroom could use renovation. Good breakfast, nice lobby and breakfast room pool and hot tub.
- 5/5
The best hostess/receptionist ever ! She allowed me and my brother some extra pool time. The sweetest and most awesome !
- 2/5
There were constant trains, with train tracks next to the hotel and traffic noise from Rt 66. The a/c was also noisy. Our room had not been updated in many years. There was no coffee maker in the room. The shower had good water pressure and sufficient hot water.
- 4/5
Moldy smell
- 5/5
The rooms were comfortable
- 5/5
The hotel is well appointted, clean with very good staff. I really cant see anything wrong here. The complimentary breakfast is quite good to top everything else of.
- 2/5
Bed was stiff, breakfast was ok, but my boyfriend and I's key card would not work, didn't know about deposit after paying $300 already for hotel room, and they also charged $20 parking when nothing was listed about additional deposit or parking. They also did not clean the room the first night we stayed.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfortable beds.
- 5/5
It was good experience
- 2/5
Our neighbors were blasting tv all night and we did tell the front desk and they did come tell them but it was an all night thing
- 4/5
The only complaint was one of the beds was really squeaky you couldn't even move without squeak squeak squeak
- 5/5
Everything was Great
- 4/5
Room seemed clean. Grounds were clean. Breakfast area was a little sloppy. Tip jar in breakfast area a turn off.
- 3/5
The room wasn’t clean, the bed and the curtain smelled bad, very disappointed with our stay
- 5/5
Friendly staff, Pet friendly $25 fee- with pet area, very good breakfast buffet (the guy who works there, works hard and quickly replenishes the food/drinks as they run low), comfortable beds/pillows, nice pool/Jacuzzi, maintenance guy, desk clerks, and cleaning ladies were all super nice. Plenty of parks & w/i 10 mins. dining options nearby.
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay for one night in Flagstaff.
- 3/5
Don’t leave anything behind because you will never see it again. Interesting how that happens. If it were my hotel I would care if my staff was taking things left behind
- 3/5
The property is in need of a serious upgrade. Beds need to be replaced and bathroom caulking needs to be redone.
- 5/5
The location of the hotel was very convenient for us. The staff was friendly. Our stay was great.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and excellent customer service
- 5/5
Was pleasantly surprised with the friendly staff and clean room. Easy check in and breakfast.
- 3/5
It wasn’t worth $400 per night. Not sure if we were put in a dirty room because we had a dog or if all the rooms were like that, but the sheets were dingy and the room was generally not very clean.
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms friendly staff
- 4/5
Train noise a little distracting.
- 5/5
Average
- 5/5
Loved the area. It was quiet and relaxing even when the busy road it’s right next to the hotel. Breakfast was AMAZING!
- 5/5
Staff addresses a concern quickly. Room was small but perfect for one night. Clean. Mattress seemed worn on right side so slept on left.
- 5/5
Yes as far as im aware. Excellenct staff and customer service
- 5/5
Great room for the night
- 4/5
People here were friendly and accommodating. It’s a bit difficult to get to, but that’s not their problem.
- 5/5
Everything was really nice. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. The hot tub and pool were great.
- 4/5
Clean room, nice breakfast.
- 4/5
The old building with draining problems
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
Rooms are dated
- 4/5
It’s a good hotel
- 4/5
Reception was luke-warm at best; pool and hot tub room was nice. Local coffee roaster coffee was good!!
- 4/5
Good hotel with superb breakfast. On Rt 66. Entrance must be approached so that you make a right into hotel. Room was very comfortable and quiet considering the proximity to Rt 66 and the railroad. Easy access to downtown for a meal. Separate breakfast area was wonderful
- 1/5
The room looked very old. It's very different from pictures from web sites. The wall was thin. The room smell was bad. Air from AC was bad.
- 5/5
Great hotel for the price. Coffee in lobby 24/7.
- 1/5
Tried canceling but couldn’t and didn’t get a refund
- 4/5
Very friendly staff
- 3/5
They say they are pet friendly, but shove all the pet owners into one corner of the hotel. The rooms are crammed and not very comfortable.
- 3/5
Property was very old and smelly. Front desk staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
They let us check in early.
- 4/5
Good Value
- 5/5
Very well
- 5/5
Very nice! Cool experience
- 5/5
The best hotel on Flagstaff
- 5/5
Suites were very spacious, clean and comfortable. Never had a hotel room with 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms. A must have with a family of 4. Very dog friendly as well and the grounds and pool very well maintained. Pleasant stay!!
- 5/5
Convienent motel; great for a family
- 4/5
Pet friendly
- 4/5
Good place to stay
- 1/5
Too much noise
- 5/5
Great stay and we enjoyed our king suite.
- 3/5
It was okay overall except the bathroom didn’t lock and there was a really scary gap in the door where outsiders can peak through
- 4/5
Good stop for a one night dog friendly stay
- 3/5
The rooms are very dated and in need of refreshing. The bathroom faucet only gave me a trickle and the shower head didn’t feel secured in the wall when I adjusted the shower head. The staff were friendly enough. If I came back to Flagstaff, I’d stay here again but I’d look for other options first at this price point. Like I said, it was fine.
- 4/5
Only negative was the dark stains on the bedcover and the hard mattress. Everything else was fine,
- 3/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Very comfortable bed! The spa and pool are indoors and so their hours are better- closing at 10pm! Wow! So nice after a long trip to soothe the aches in the hot tub before resting in bed. The breakfast was decent with a great coffee and tea bar! No microwave in the room but the water from the tap was hot enough to make my own hot tea in the room. You have to go to the lobby for basic tea and coffee.
- 4/5
No in-room microwaves
- 4/5
Everything we needed.
- 5/5
We got the room that we had reserved. It was just what we needed. The staff was very available and helpful. Complementary breakfast was definitely worth it. They checked on us everyday and cleaned our room when it was needed. We will definitely go back again!!
- 2/5
Looking elsewhere in future travels, room was dirty, worn and expensive
- 4/5
I loved that it was dog friendly. And even though it was Fourth of July weekend it was very quiet.
- 5/5
The employee who replenished the food, plates, etc and ensured the dining area stayed clean did an excellent job! Nice variety of breakfast food items from cold to hot. Hotel was clean. I’d highly recommend staying at this hotel.
- 5/5
Was much better than expected
- 3/5
Room was ok Very noisy with neighbors and the room above us.
- 5/5
Ive been staying here for 30+ years
- 5/5
Good value, nice and clean. Pet friendly as well.
- 5/5
The hotel was well maintained and had an outstanding breakfast!
- 4/5
We got there late and we didn’t get a great parking spot. We had a little difficulty finding the proper door in the back to enter through. But I was tired and unfamiliar with the property and am terrible at directions, so it’s more on me than the staff. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient in getting back on the interstate.
- 3/5
It is an old property. Not great, but not poor either and is okay for a day or two night stays.
- 5/5
Limited parking and not a lot of more. Good breakfast
- 4/5
It was fine. Good value for money.
- 1/5
Very bad hotel..
- 5/5
Very nice staff and clean and spacious rooms
- 4/5
We actually had 2 bookings because I realized I could make it to Flagstaff quicker than expected. So the first night, we were in room 202, and it was great. We slept comfortably and the room was clean. I don't know if it was because we were tired, but we never really heard the train. The next 2 nights we were in room 213, and we could hear the train a lot more frequently throughout the night. That is my only drawback to the hotel, the rest was fine.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 4/5
Very quiet, no train noise. Hotel is worn, in need of renovation. Nice lawn for walking dogs.
- 5/5
Had to stay in Flagstaff a couple of days due to car trouble. Chose this hotel because of price and good reviews. Did not disappoint one bit! The staff was amazing. We will definitely be staying here anytime we're in the area.
- 4/5
This property was very clean and comfortable, the staff was very helpful.
- 4/5
Place is run down and needs attention. We had a quick night here though and they were very nice at check in.
- 2/5
This motel is old and in dire need of renovation. In general, the amenities are what could be expected of a motel. The complimentary breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the pool area.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Excellent location for our visit. nice room, appreciated 2 bathrooms!
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Very nice breakfast with lots of options. The kids loved the pool and we loved the hot tub.
- 5/5
They were very friendly and made the stay nice.
- 4/5
We needed a place to stay for one night on our way to New Mexico. The fact that we could have our dog was the main reason for choosing this hotel and the convenience getting to and from the hotel from the interstate.
- 5/5
We stayed here for two nights. Property was fine for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was easily accessible and parking was easy. It isn't the fanciest place to stay, but we were a large group and it worked out well for us.
- 2/5
Room smelled horrible. Ac barely pushed any air with the filter they had on it. Power shut off around 6 am day of check out so had no choice but to try and grab breakfast while still hot. Came back to the room and smelled like something had died in there
- 5/5
Absolutely nothing wrong with our stay. Everyone was pleasant, hotel was beautiful. They have the best breakfast buffet!
- 1/5
I had asked for a pet friendly room. When I arrived to the room it had a very strong odor of cat/dog urine. It was extremely overwhelming.
- 5/5
All the workers were super nice ! Room service was 10/10 ! Stayed here for 2 nights it was the best hotel I been to ! Keep up the amazing good you guys !!
- 4/5
The ceiling in the hotel room reverberated with every step the guest upstairs made, so be sure to request a room on the upper floor. Otherwise, as you would expect at a roadside motel.
- 5/5
There isn't a negative thing about theis hotel so far. The front office is extremely accommodating, though there isn't a single request we need to make! Beautiful and spotless room, comfortable bed and surroundings. Relaxing atmosphere.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Quiet place to stay.
- 5/5
It’s old, can see thru bathroom door. Not great. I expected nicer because of the rating.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, breakfast included. The hotel is a bit dated but kept up pretty well.
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing! Hotel was clean. Staff was awesome!
- 4/5
Breakfast was awful. Rest was ok
- 5/5
Was a great experience
- 5/5
Perfect stay for pets. Spotless accommodations. Great grass area for pets.
- 4/5
Great location and breakfast, convenient, good place to take my dog, very quiet. Only negative was the odor as you walked into the room-awful.
- 5/5
Frindly staff, calm and safe
- 3/5
This is an older hotel so… it is what it is. The EV charger is not free. They charged me $15 for. An unlimited time
- 4/5
Room was clean and simply furnished. Bed was too soft for my preference, it sagged some on the side closest to the TV, so I slept on the opposite side which was firmer. I could hear the trains coming and going, however it wasn't disruptive for me. Breakfast was ready at 630am and had variety of hot and cold food to select from.
- 3/5
The room was extremely musty smelling, no windows to open. The bath mat had hair wrapped around the suction cups. The breakfast wasn’t great but it was free. Dried omelette style egg with only cheese melted in the middle. Dried out mini muffins. We probably won’t be back
- 4/5
The staff were VERY friendly and helpful. They had 4 EV charging stations on the property. I wasn’t a fan of the carpeting in the rooms.
- 4/5
Small rooms but good bed & TV. Bathrooms very small and water temp in shower hard to adjust.
- 4/5
Well kept for an older facility.
- 5/5
Nice breakfast
- 2/5
Ac did not work properly, hot most of the night. Fridge was froze up. Had to throw away food because of fridge.
