Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Florence I-20

I have stayed here a few times and it’s always nice place to stay all around. Will continue to make this my go to hotel in Florence.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The staff seemed more interested in their phones than assisting guests, which made the service feel inattentive and unprofessional. The room was not clean upon arrival, with hair visible in multiple areas. It also had a strong musty odor that made the room feel unpleasant. To make matters worse, the complimentary breakfast was disappointing, with poor quality food and limited appeal. Overall, the cleanliness, service, and breakfast fell well below expectations, and I would not choose to stay here again.

Upon check in i was informed I had no reservation. Staff said since it was a 3rd party booking they could not help resolve the issue. I asked if they could contact booking.com and they said that they could not. U get the impression if there is a 3rd party booking they treat you like a 3rd class citizen. No attempt by staff to help resolve the problem. That's not good customer relations. I would think 3rd party bookings would be significant in booking rooms for them.²

The breakfast was a nice surprise but the pool was closed for maintenance - which was the only reason we picked this hotel.

Today was a nightmare, no water at all at the property had to drive to NJ without showering . The hotel was not bad but they need to buy odor eliminator and let housekeeping spray it all over the hallways and rooms before people check in. Musty odor, I have no clue but it was mix of cigarette odor as well

On the plus side, the breakfast buffet was very nice- not your usual runny powdered eggs and greasy sausages.

How I really felt about that situation was I interrupt his cigarette break and didn’t want to be bothered. You trying to tell me NO room is available and yall start check in within a hour. However all the other attendant I encountered was pleasant.

Excellent, convenient stop on our drive on 1-95. Complementary breakfast was very good. We arrived very late (3am), and the staff was very helpful, and it went smoothly.

We attempted to check in early and the room wasn’t ready yet. I was ok with that. We looked around a bit and realized the indoor pool was closed for repairs and that was the main reason for choosing this hotel. When we returned around 4:00 pm (original check in time) we were advised that it was still not ready and it would be another hour or so until it was. We ended up canceling our reservation and returned home.

I struggled to give this review because the hotel itself was good, the staff was great, and the breakfast was ok but the room we stayed in had an awful smell to it. It smelled like that the room had flooded or something.

A comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious...the best grits I ever had! Kudos to the chef!

Disappointed with the breakfast. No scrambled eggs. I don't like plastic eating utensils. Very hard trying to cut a waffle with a plastic knife that bends in every direction when you put a little pressure on it. Don't like paying for parking.

This is a WONDERFUL hotel! Everything here is fantastic! From Jalen, to Lauren, to Kim, and whatever other employees we encountered, the courtesy and care from them was above and beyond! I even said they must’ve been through an amazing customer service training program because I have never experienced that level of professionalism mixed with kindness that I did here. They also have the most comfortable beds and the pillows are amazing, so much so that I may be ordering a couple off the website. It is clean, it is decorated and/or updated with a cute modern aesthetic and the continental breakfast is quite good enough! My only wish is that they had bacon available more mornings. This was our second trip there and we were in and out from day to day as we dealt with a loved one in the hospital who ultimately passed away. I just can’t say enough good things. Stay here, I do not think you’ll regret it. Thank you guys for being so kind and understanding of why we were there. ❤️

Was charged $5 for parking which is ridiculous since the cost of the room was $156. Where else would you park? No indication that there was a charge for parking until it showed up on my credit card bill.

The facilities seemed to be new and in excellent condition. There were many nearby restaurants to choose from. the breakfast was ok, and not exceptional.

I agree with a comment I saw wondering why rating is not higher! Not sure if it’s newer (or perhaps remodeled). Cute modern decor, super clean, courteous and helpful front desk, nice gym that I’ll never use lol, perfectly acceptable continental breakfast, and some of the most comfortable beds and pillows of any hotel I’ve stayed in. Added two more nights! Great option with mall, stores and many restaurant options just up the street. No reason NOT to stay here!

Everything about the breakfast was great. the options, the set up and everything was easy to get and use. a little to much chlorine in pool had to get out after 30mins

It didn't have an adjustable shower head to change the water flow. The TV remote had no numbers so that you could scroll directly to a channel.

Breakfast could've been better they had green bananas😞 sausage was all dried out . Room was nice only problem lacking housekeeping . Spend 5 days and sheets were not changed . It's every other day but they never changed our sheets my hubby spilled hot chocolate on sheets they just made the bed that's it and the towels omg 😳 we had to reused ours . Front desk was very nice . Love the location A+ stores close by.

Great location very quiet only 2 complaints the heater did not work real well and had to put towels over the door because light coming through crack of door. But would definitely recommend and stay again.

Second stay here wish spouse and daughter .It was a quick overnight trip. Check in was easy but receptionist that night wasn’t so pleasant compared to the initial visit. Beds weren’t the best comfort wise and toilet wasn’t completely clean when we arrived. Breakfast was great and convenient

The room was super clean. The check-in staff were super efficient considering i arrived there late in the night (11 pm). There was hot tea available when i needed.

This was our second time at this property. Our room was a true handicap accessible area. Most hotels add a few grab bars to a tub and call it accessible. We had an edge less shower I could roll right into. The breakfast was limited in size but what was offered was good. Looking forward to our next stay.

The toilet paper is too rough for my sensitive skin, and the doors are extremely hard to open. I was told the doors are an issue that the staff is aware of and they are working on it.

Driving from FL to NY so this was a last minute booking and when you pull off the highway and pick a place you never know what you’ll get…this place did not disappoint and beds were super comfy…we could have slept in but had to hit the road again at 7am

Property very clean staff courteous! Room was good , i would’ve preferred a non handicap room especially since i am not, seemed that might’ve bern better used. Breakfast bar was the worst ive seen in a long while for a big chain hotel. Not thinking anyone wants overcooked turkey sausage on vacation . Property great , room comfortable went elsewhere for breakfast.

We had a terrible stay. Beds were lumpy and pillows were flat. We asked for a room on the top floor and were not given one. The people in the room above us were stomping on their floor (our ceiling) all night…literally. Never fell asleep.

The check-in was quick and the person was friendly at first. When we got to our room it had a very bad odor, like urine. I called the front desk to ask for another room. The front desk person was not very friendly about this and seemed to treat me like I was making this up. She did put us in another room but seemed mad about having to do that! The new room was clean and comfortable.

Quick one night stay on the way from Miami to NYC, but it was affordable and very lovely. It also had restaurants around it that were open late on a Sunday night. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty good, too.

Hotel was clean but not well updated. Room door didn’t close on own. Fluorescent bulbs were old and dim when they worked. Poor quality of renovation with taping errors and cracks in trim. Elevator has disturbingly long delay before moving once machinery starts operating - not normal performance for any Thyssen Krup I’ve worked. Only one luggage cart for entire building. Ten minutes after my son picked up cart in lobby I opened door to go down with luggage and was greeted by unpleasant guest demanding the cart. How did he know which room I was in? Why is this even an issue? Plastic utensils for the landfill. Coffee cups don’t fit lids. Breakfast not very memorable. Building sign not operating. Hard to find at night.

Great stay in Florence and the staff made the stay even better

Housekeeping didn’t come in all 4 days. I brought my own cleaning supplies just in case glad I did. I had to call front desk to have trash removed from room. Next time I’ll bring garbage bags with me also.

Our family of 6 had a fantastic stay. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. The indoor pool area was comfortably warm. The free breakfast was convenient with a variety of items hot and cold. The parking was convenient and the area was quiet with little traffic noise. The mini fridge and microwave were very helpful. I would highly recommend.

We stay at Fairfield Suites in Florence, SC whenever we travel and while everyone is always polite it seems that on this trip especially the staff was not only polite and friendly but also professional. When checking in and checking out both of these gentlemen were a great representation of your facility.

Updated room and very clean, and the staff was SUPER!

Very clean and quiet. Looks fairly new. Need your GPS to be sure to get there since it is way the back of a bunch of other hotels.

The only issue is if you have pet allergies it doesn’t matter. There are NO designated rooms for guests & their pets. Our room was clean tho & no signs of pet dander.

The hotel was terrific. Tucked away in the woods far enough from 95 not to hear any noise. Large clean modern room. Very nice lobby. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Indoor pool and workout room we didn’t get a chance to use. I can see why my Marriott stock has quadrupled. Marriott made a good call introducing this brand. Priced a little high but worth the experience. If you’re driving down to the southeast US, stay here and treat yourself.
