This is an older hotel obviously. The staff was excellent, the room was okay and the breakfast was very limited. We probably won't stay there again but might be fine for most people.

Clean hotel but in need of some cosmetic work given age of hotel. Otherwise clean and hotel and friendly staff.

The property is older (renovated), but you can tell it has been around a while. The floors seemed slightly tilted in locations, were very creaky and the hallways were musty smelling. The rooms were clean and I had almost no complaints except for the noisy shower/tub. I luckily was on the second floor, but I imagine that every step above in the shower and on the creaky floor was audible below. The breakfast ok served its purpose, although the eggs tasted like powdered eggs, but I didn't mind too much. Otherwise a great stay.

Front desk was not very welcoming but it was a late evening ckin. Ice machine not on my floor - 1st floor only. Fridge was not turned up so warm when arrived but cooled down eventually. No Freezer compartment for reusable ice blocks.

The bathroom had plenty of properly placed grab bars and the toilet was at a good height. Both important in an accessible room. The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. There was no issue with doing a late check in. I didn’t have breakfast there this time as was meeting family. Coffee was pretty good tho. I would definitely stay there again when I travel to Frederick.

The hotel was conveniently located and met most of our needs. The AC in the room was smelly and did not keep the room properly cooled. The weather was mild, but it will be an issue as the outdoor temperatures rise. The breakfast was good, but we missed the afternoon cookies promised, except when we checked in. The one day we left our sign off our door, hoping for cleaning, we were disappointed to return and find our hot room and the small trash cans still overflowing.

Staff was awesome. The location of the hotel is amazing! The hotel itself was OK. Carpets were very dirty and smells like wet carpet. The pictures provided are night and day difference from what you see in real life

They were up and down the stairs and stomping around from 1am until almost 3am. Why would you place such a large group above someone at such late hours? They were dragging coolers and luggage up and down half the night.

The hotel was perfect for us visiting family nearby. Great location, very clean room with nice bathroom and with helpful staff. Definitely high on the list for when we return. Breakfast was adequate but with minimal choices. No other negatives as we will definitely make use of this hotel when we return. The trash trucks were quite noisy in the morning but I'd expect that to only once per week.

I have never stayed in a hotel room so small. I paid for a suite and got a room so small that one of us had to sit on the bed so the other could walk in the room. The bathroom vanity was so small my makeup bag would not fit on it. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Definitely needs a few repairs and upgrades but it was clean, safe, the staff was great and breakfast was decent. Great area.

This was a great hotel to stay in. It’s located near lots of restaurants and easy access to highways. I will definitely stay again. It’s very quiet. The only issue I had was parking up front from the construction workers that stayed there taking those spots.

This hotel was not worth the price. The bathroom products were very low quality, the fitness room was one treadmill and one elliptical with a system set on 71 degrees which is way too warm. Breakfast on the weekends isn't served till 7am so we couldn't have it prior to our scheduled race. This hotel is nothing special for the price.

It's a good place to stay. Not luxurious but does the job of comfort. The workout facility was not good.

This place is very clean and very well run. Not upscale, but felt comfortable, safe, and priced right.

One would hope that a hotel listed as a partner/recommended by the Road Race company would have breakfast earlier on race morning so runners could partake.

House staff didn't come in to refresh towels and make up beds. Didn't know that they didn't do this daily. Front desk was friendly on check in. Kitchen staff was just going thru the motions. overall condition of floors and carpets look as if they need a good cleaning. carpets in lobby, hallways and the couch in lobby were very dirty. much dirtier than 6 months ago when we stayed.

Breakfast was not so good they should have stayed with the basic Breakfast, bacon, eggs and sausage. Everything else was good.

Shower head didn't work properly and none of us could eat the cooked breakfast. The beds seemed too small to be queen. Staff was friendly though.

The overall cleanliness of the hotel was good, except the entire wing of the hotel we stayed on was so intense smelling of marijuana that it made us literally sick. I'm still unclear why the staff didn't demand those who were smoking in the hotel to leave. When we check in we sign an agreement on no smoking of any sorts in the rooms and yet the hotel was absolutely overwhelming with a smell. To the point that my grandchildren were going to come see me and we had to find alternate arrangements because I was scared that they would get sick because the smell was so intense. I would highly recommend that staff be more proactive in removing those that are smoking out of the hotel.

Bad smell & outdated room amenities

This hotel is exceptional, my room was very clean, the property is in excellent condition and well maintained. It has a very home like feel throughout the building and the bathroom was the cleanest and most updated I’ve seen in a long time, even better than the high end expensive establishments I’ve been to and that’s super important to me.

I would not stay there again. Upon pulling in the parking lot, the outside looked unkempt. The entry rugs were dirty and faded and there was something slopped on both of them. The young lady who checked us in was kind and friendly. Check in was fast and easy. The carpets in the halls are old and in need of replacement or cleaning. In the room, someone's coffee was splashed and dripping down the wall by the bed...and still there. There were many chips in the paint above the bed. The remote was filthy and the words on the keys were worn off so I had to guess which one was which. The worst part was the SEVERAL black stains on the sheets. The room was not dusty. Looking out the window, I could lots of litter and a dilapidated BBQ grill that are to the left of the main hotel entrance. The same area also had 3 rotting benches and another sitting area for guests. I'm sure not many would partake in this amenity.... The shampoo, conditioner and lotion were probably the cheapest they could buy, compared to other hotels. Breakfast was meager- not nearly as good as other hotels I've stayed at that were similar. The breakfast area was clean and the ladies were attentive to refilling the food. The owner of this particular hotel needs to invest some money into making it a place guests would want to return to again. Attached pictures aren't very good, but give the idea, showing dirty sheets, coffee splashed on the wall and the outside area looking out our room's window.

Of food options. Now don’t expect the Ritz Carlton, this hotel serves its purpose clean, comfy bed, safe, nice people working there. I have to say you can tell they pay attention when cleaning rooms extremely clean but of course normal wear and tear. The noise of doors shutting and loud people yes you will hear but for the price, location, cleanliness and safe that’s all that matters.

First day was for two weeks while we were waiting to get into a new apartment. Spent over $2000 and accidentally broke a microwave plate. They tried to charge me $25 for that and it was nine dollars on Amazon. They added me to the do not rent to list as a result.

Breakfast was horrible! staff on their phone while all food stations were empty. No soap in bathroom. Not a big deal the TV cable was down due to a storm but the front desk staff didn’t mentor at check in, would’ve saved us from trying to figure out if we were doing something wrong.

The room was clean, with nice amenities and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was great. There was a good selection of channels on the television and the staff were very pleasant and efficient. I left too early each day to try the breakfast, but it smelled pretty good and the dining room was large with plenty of tables. There was a nice well lit grass area out front to walk the dog. My only complaints were that the closet, fridge and microwave were tricky to access and the room, while large, seemed a little cramped and oddly laid out. I only managed to connect to the wi-fi once and it was very slow.

The room was a little worn out; small stain on sheet; dirty bed skirt; in need of caulking in bathroom; stain on carpet. However, climate control worked well and relatively quiet and the bed was comfortable; good room darkening - so overall, slept well. Breakfast limited in selections but OK. Overall - decent value given the price. Not bad for one night.

Eggs and hot food at breakfast were noticeably weak. Most people left them on their plate. I overheard many people in the dining room complaining. Bed was comfortable. Many loud people in the hall in the morning and slamming doors. Inconsiderate guests; nothing hotel can do about it. Unfortunately, it comes with the price point! No extra blankets on a very cold night. Fairly priced for the hotel’s strengths but the weaknesses were glaring and easily fixable. Affordable does not have to mean inedible food.

Cheap, confident location, but I don’t know if I’d stay again. The staff was great and very friendly. The breakfast was small, good but a bit inconsistent, I was hoping for sausage or bacon both days but Sunday was eggs. (I can’t eat dairy so I don’t trust scrambled eggs to not have cheese or milk). The facilities not so great though. Things had been cleaned but the sheets, pillow cases, bed skirt, and walls had some stains on them. The pipes also knocked and the bottom of the tub creaked, I’m not a big person and I was worried about the stability. The security latch was also broken and had a screw missing and one screw that didn’t go all the way into the door frame. Thin walls, you can hear your neighbors TVs. Clearly old and retrofitted but if you just need somewhere cheaper and aren’t picky it’s fine.

The hotel was extremely loud and noisy starting around 1:15am. This continued off and on all night even though the front desk was notified. When checking out, the issue was brought up again and the front desk never even apologized.

Same as before, amazing. I really like this hotel. I live in NC so We (my husband and I ) go to CT to visit his Mom and Maryland is the 1/2 way point. We will stay here from now on when we go up North this is the best by far!!

One item that wasn't so good - the black mold on wall next to shower. When I entered room at 9pm, shower fan was blowing - clearly left on for a reason. Seeing black mold is very off-putting.

There was rust throughout the bathroom ceiling and walls. Other than that it was pretty clean.

Room was ‘ok’. Climate control didn’t work really well. You had to bake or freeze. The breakfast wasn’t that good. McDonald’s was better. That should tell you something. Next trip there I’ll be looking at other options

We have stayed at this local several times, we have always had a room on the 2nd floor. This time we had a room on the 1st floor and what a difference. The room was a lot smaller, the bed was very uncomfortable, the carpet was dirty. I had the “Do not disturb” sign on the door and housekeeper still knocked on the door, the location of this hotel is great we absolutely loved staying here but after this trip I’m not sure we will be back as I didn’t get any sleep the 2 nights I was there as the bed was absolutely horrible. Sad thing is the feet of the bed was more comfortable then the head of the bed. Bathroom trim was filthy.

The staff at this property were all very helpful, friendly and welcoming. That being said, it is fairly dated and not enhanced by the smell of weed that is constantly in the hallways. Sheets and beds in the rooms were clean and comfortable, but the room smelled musty. We really only were there to sleep. Very easy to hear noises from other rooms and hallway at night. There are other nearby options that are far better.

They wanted to manually record my credit card information at check in instead of using the debit machine. I have stayed dozens of times at Choice Hotels and they are the only ones that do this. I won’t be choosing Choice Hotels in the future.

The room setup was odd (tv not centered to bed) and only had one nightstand. This made it very hard for my husband and his cpap. The AC/heat control was terrible- either no airflow, freezing wind or heat all in a very small box of a room. On top of all that the bed was a sink hole. Our backs were in so much pain the next morning.

The hotel is old but is good condition overall. The beds were comfortable and clean! Little things were off - only 1 coffee for 2 people; only non dairy creamer (yuck) and the coffee downstairs was just terrible! Breakfast was meh as well. Not worth the amount of money we paid.

My wife and I we're liking our stay in this hotel but not until the very last day. It comes with free breakfast. We're told it's from 7am-10am, and didn't know it's 7a-9am on weekdays. So, on our last day today (Sep 22), we went to have breakfast at just about 9am. So, this lone staff started packing all the food abruptly since it's 9am as if where not there. I told the staff that we didn't know it closes at 9am. Didn't even bother to ask us to get some food before she took it away. Anyways, the poor us still managed to grab a bagel, 3 slices of bread, and an apple. An elderly lady came later and was surprised that all the food where gone. Of course, she was completely ignored by the same insensitive staff. The lady said she won't come back to this hotel ever again. The same goes for my and wife.

Basic, but solid place to stay

This stay was only so-so. As I was checking in, a woman (possibly a manager?) was chastising the front desk staff for not making more coffee. My room’s carpets, curtains and even sheets had stains. The upsides are breakfast was good and the area was clean. Check-out was fine. I didn’t pay much either.

Please make sure to verify your credit card charges as we were billed for an additional $61 at check in, in addition to the charge of $40 for the pet fee. When I called the hotel a week later, the person on duty had no record of the charge but did process a credit which was very much appreciated.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff is awesome. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. This hotel has lived up to its reviews and I hope my review lets others know how much we enjoyed our visit to this hotel.

I’d say this is a sold 2 star hotel. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating when we needed to move due to an issue with the toilet. But some of the carpets were very stained and the overall room conditions were not great. Not dirty, just not in good condition. Public areas were nice. And the general location was really good.

Cons are the fitness room is severely lacking (no dumbell weights, no towels, no hand sanitizer/wipes, tiny space and no working AC during summertime). Also, breakfast doesn’t have enough plant-based/vegan/veggie options. I may find another hotel due to this reason alone. Otherwise, everything else is decent.

This hotel is conveniently near to Historic Frederick. Nice cookies at the Front Desk and free coffee are a plus!

Our first room has a pair of dirty (pee stained) mens underwear under the mattress. Our second room the toilet would not flush, it had a funny smell as well. Not a very clean hotel at all. Would not recommend.

I was not a fan of how tiny the room was with a king size bed. Only one side of the bed had a nightstand.

Clean, spacious rooms with nice bedding. Minimal noise at any time which made for a pleasant experience. Wifi is slow and I wouldn't stay here because of the breakfast. That being said, I would stay here again.

Several things have changed at this location. We have stated here several times over the last year, just recently over the last few months they have new management and honestly IT’S THE WORST MOVE. Checkout is now at 11 instead of 12. The housekeeping isn’t cleaning the rooms especially on 2nd floor that well. The shower was disgustingly dirty lots of shower scum. The floor in bathroom the trim and everything

The room was a bare bones room. No amenities such as soap and shampoo dispenser in shower and breakfast was a disaster. Very little choice for hot food and what was there tasted like library paste. They ran out of waffle batter around 8:10 and didn't replace it until almost 9:00, which was the time breakfast ended. We had a reservation for our return trip to Buffalo but cancelled it and are staying at a different hotel.

On the positive side the rooms very very nice, well furnished, very clean. The bathroom was very nice, modern, roomy. The bed and bedding were fabulous. Best night’s sleep in a hotel ever!

Stay was OK, your average motel. However, there was a very strong bleach smell and faint smell of feces. It felt like the bleach was supposed to mask something. It also was coming out of the air conditioner. Maybe they treated it for bacteria, but I wish I'd know why it smelled like that.

But it is a very dated hotel and the carpet in our room was wet in one area and stained and the room smells. You definitely get what you pay for. It was ok for one night. I couldn't do it for another.

Staff was extremely nice and professional, but the room was a bit worn down. The ledge under the mini fridge had considerable wear likely due to water damage. The room had a strange odor to it and the same odor was present on the hall way area. Overall, pretty disappointed.

The first room smelled like urine. The second room was nice but dated and needed some tending to. For example, the molding around the ceiling was crumbling. The beds need to be replaced as they are way too soft and “slept in.”

Nice hotel! We enjoy staying there everytime we go to Frederick. The staff is always nice and friendly as well.

The room was not clean. The carpet had stains, the room smelled musty and like cigarettes. There was a long black hair on my bed, and the sheets were not fresh. The curtains were broken in 2 places. There was a filthy chair in the room.

I appreciated having a comfortable, clean hotel to stay on during my travels.

Overall a great place. My only issue is that there is a small outdoor shaded sitting area which would be very nice to have drinks. However, there are several 100's of cigarette butts covering the ground. There are receptacles, but they overflow.

I stayed for 3 nights with family. AC was not throwing cool air. Did report it to the front desk. No action was taken to fix it. It was too hot in the room during this summertime, but they did not care.

Not happy with the service

Stopped quickly for a stay in Frederick. Check in was east, the room was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was nice.

Great location for us as a stopover driving north. Clean room and breakfast area. Lobby was dirty but it seems someone dropped a drink and it had not been cleaned up.

If you want a cheap room this is the place. Our room was filthy: the rug had many I mean many stains I didn’t even take my shoes off. The bed skirt had stains and the tiolet seat was not attached and could not flush. I didn’t bother changing rooms. It was just for one night. Would not recommend.

Not scenic

The woman at check in was very nice but didn’t offer where anything is - where to take the dog out, which way the room was. Got to the room and the light didn’t work. They fixed it very quickly. Bathtub was wet as if someone had just been in there, but otherwise room was fairly clean.

However, there were a couple of minor issues that prevented me from giving a full 5-star rating. I noticed a few stains on the floor and bedding in the room, which was a bit disappointing. While the room was otherwise clean and well-maintained, the stains did stand out. It didn’t detract too much from the overall experience, but I’d suggest a little extra attention to detail in that area. All in all, I had a pleasant stay and would definitely return—just hoping for a cleaner room next time!

Extremely loud

Room was just ok. Clean but bathroom could use some more updating. Breakfast was ok. Halls had a funny smell.

This was a horrible experience. There was a hole in the bathroom wall the size of a head. Mold around all the bathroom molding. The bed was made but looked as if someone had been sleeping on top of it when we arrived. The other bed by the window had dirt on it, from the air conditioner I am guessing. They moved us to another room at my request. However, when we arrived back to the new room that night (around 10:30 pm), I had a migraine and went to get into the bed, and when I pulled back the sheets there was a dirty tissue! It took them a half hour to get up to change the bedding for me. I would have left at that point but I already paid for the room and could not contact anyone live on expedia for a refund, and the area hotels were booked solid. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The breakfast was terrible, the walls were half painted thruout the hotel (and looks like it had been that way for a while), and kids were running up and down the hallways at all hours. Staff was not friendly.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a great stay.

Only one blanket and cloths hanger in the room, potato chips on the floor, broken lamp between the beds, one curtain was missing and unable to turn off the A/C and fan.
