Best Western Village Inn

The rooms were clean above the surface but we did find trash underneath the bed and stains on the chairs and some sheets.

Everything was cleaned and all staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

I wouldn't say anything was "unique", other than for the nightly price, this was a very good hotel. Very clean, nice property, good security, helpful/nice staff, acceptable breakfast. There are a variety of restaurants within walkable distance or near by if wanted. I would recommend, well worth the price.

Easy in and out Our building did not have a nice machine

Everything was great! Only recommend putting in actual comforters rather than blankets and update the pillows. They are very thin. Other than that it was a great stop close to the national parks and kid friendly! We had a good experience

I didn’t like anything. There were roaches in this hotel, the sheets had roaches legs and dead bugs. I took video and pictures of this, it was disgusting! These people don’t clean or change the sheets.

Basically when we checked in the lady was super rude. She very talkative to the previous person, but when we came up to the counter her demeanor changed.maybe because my husband is black. She was super rude to me also. We paid good money and the eggs were not that good, we only ate the last day.fridge frozen everything, missing fridge bar on door. No water pressure

The breakfast is outstanding compared to similar accommodations. Security was comforting. Nothing was noticeably objectionable.

The staff was very rude and aggressive with me when asking questions, the rooms headboard was gross and has splatter, sweaty back marks and to add to it i didn't see it they'll the next AM when I work up.

Room was clean and shower water pressure wasn’t bad. Breakfast had a good variety and enjoyed. Voices from people talking in the hallway echoed and were quit noisy. There is not enough time to eat breakfast for competition. So if I could bring some breakfast to room and eat while getting ready, it would be better.

The toilet in the room would fill up all the way to the top as it was going to overflow then it would flush. The curtain rod was bent and the shower curtain wouldn't stay closed. The AC would not stay on cool it kept going to heat when the room would cool off. And it smelled like mildew when it was running. Breakfast was okay, sausage was over cooked it was like eating rubber. Staff wasn't the friendliest it was like they were there because they had to be.

The check in process was quick, no issues there. Front desk was friendly. Upon getting into the room, the fire detector was chirping. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone to fix it shortly. Shortly turned into 1 hour. The beds were ok. Carpet was filthy, crumbs and hair were visible. Hotel not in the best of area but I should’ve did more research on where the property was. The hallways smelled of marijuana and beer bottles were left outside of people’s doors. Didn’t think too much of that until they were there the next day. So housekeeping doesn’t really seem like a priority. So if you’re a smoker and drinker this might be the spot for you. I’m not judging.

The room had an unpleasant odor, of cat urine? Floors were sticky around the beds.

The fridge and freezer worked well. Our room definitely could have been cleaner. The floors and under the bed was dirty and had trash under it.

Nice location easy access to freeway 41 Dennys restaurant next door McDonald’s across the street donut shop across the street Popeyes chicken few steps away. Only complaint check in time 3:00 pm we arrived at 4:20 pm are queen room was not ready we had to wait around 15 minutes. She did upgrade us to king room so that was nice.

Location was close to the highway for easy access. Refrigerator was set too cold and my soda can exploded during the night.

This place was great, very clean room, great brakefast, quiet at night, no homeless people around and no trash around the property.

Called again and the front desk tells me "I just got here". uhh ok welcome to your job? Water running slow and weak barely any heat from it. The only nice thing was the breakfast but it can't make up for all the other ignored and unresolved issues. I'd rather pay up and have a better experience elsewhere.

With a pullout couch

Pillows were stained 2 toilet paper rolls per stay, if you needed more they will not bring them to you, You had to walk all the way to the front to get them! No one cleaned my room during my stay! You can hear everyone, walls/doors super thin! Opening/closing doors were so loud 24/7 Cleaning crew were extremely loud while cleaning people rooms who checked out at 8:30am. You can tell sheets were not washed properly, had to bring in my own! First time here, will not be back!

Yes the breakfast was very nice ,it had a variety of fresh fruit ,muffins, and their was eggs ,potatoes and sausage you could even make a fresh waffle if that was what you wanted.

Arrived on Thursday, left Sunday morning, just about perfect! Very little noise. No problems with the "Locals". Breakfast was good all three days. Decent coffee. Front desk staff were all fabulous! Thanks for the chocolate! Not in a walkable part of town. Cheers!

Property is clean and hotel room is big, breakfast is good.

I had never stayed there before I really liked my room a lot and I thank the house keeping staff for being so kind and professional and they made my stay wonderful. I did really enjoy the breakfast but a d this is my only negative they had a sign up about people eating the breakfast in their dining room. In this day and age people need to recognize anexiety issues and my husband got his plate and cane to our room and he said the lady working the breakfast counter like ran off to tell on him. He did not take much food and simply feels uncomfortable around that many people so I ask that going forward they recognize personal situations.. other then that I have rated it a5 star very satisfied !! Ty for the stay

The location was great. Not a lot of traffic or noise at night. The family of cats outside the hotel were the best part and there is a good coffee shop Kuppa Joy, nearby!

Room was clean and spacious. Mattress was very comfortable. I loved that the room had a refrigerator, microwave and hairdryer. I did not take advantage to the continental breakfast , so I can't comment on it. Plenty of parking and guests were respectful and quiet.

It is pet friendly and inexpensive. The area is a little sketchy, the tub faucet valve needs to be replaced as it’s old and stuck so it won’t pull out. Had to ask my husband to pull it out for me. Also, the towel rack/bar is coming off the wall. I informed the receptionist about it

Room, Staff and the area

Room was clean and staff was great. Problem was they have no hand soap in the bathroom and no shampoo or body soap in the shower either. Next time we will be staying somewhere else. But if you dont mind not washing your hands or taking a shower then this place isnt bad.

New room was smoke free, TV worked, but no fans in the bathroom, 4 couch sized pillows for the bed instead of standard size.

Standard room, nothing fancy, but theres security at night and I felt safe there, despite hearing it wasn't in the best neighborhood.

Temp was freezing dirty rags left when fixed. No shower gel no shuttle that was convenient

I went to visit my sister and this location was great for getting there and return from her place.

The hotel was fine the beds are way to firm and the Pool rules are way too much, no smoking,no glass, no alcohol, no BBQ nothing you can do out there.

Clean, quiet, not the fanciest but they had breakfast and coffee. It took a little longer to get checked in but overall I enjoyed my one night stay.

We Had a tragic event to attend and the desk clerk was kind and personable.

The property was welcoming but I got bed bug bites and it was clean and satisfying place i didn't understand why the bed bugs so i was scratching and very irritated and the young lady moved me to another room

This wasn’t a good choice for me to stay here. I was woke up by a woman screaming at 4:20 AM and men fighting. I know it’s hard for a hotel to control what goes on in their hotel but I didn’t feel safe. Hotel was run down and lots of activity on the street surrounding the property. The staff was very nice and did their best. We reported the smell of marijuana lingering in the hallway from one of the rooms but again hard to control what goes on behind close doors.

This place has friendly staff and a clean room: a reasonably priced accommodation. We just needed a room for a night before driving home. We were pleasantly surprised.

Front desk is less than helpful. Didn't tell the detailed instructions about how to get to the room. Took me a lot of time to find it. There's a moldy smell in the room. Breakfast is meh. Paper in the dining room is asking for gratitude from customer. Please, you can take a few dollars off the price and save your gratitude-demanding breakfast.

Quiet, peaceful and safe

Noisy rattling air conditioner all night long! Toilet didn't flush all the way. Eggs were undercooked and ostmeal was flooded.

Would not recommend for families with small children. Hotel smells like cigarettes! All of it. Definitely not a smoke free hotel. Lots of homeless in the area. Rooms are outdated. Rooms are “clean” but feel and look dirty. Beds are old, ours had a dip in the middle. Last day we found a dirty sock behind the TV stand. Overall bad hotel!

As we walked into our room we were immediately greeted with an extremely unpleasant urine smell. Given that these rooms have carpets and allow pets, you can imagine how many accidents must have occurred here and how many times this smell was ignored by your cleaning staff. Next, as we are walking toward the middle of the room we notice an array of things that are up to 0 standard. The walls are smudged with dirt, the floors have black hair laying all over it, the mattresses are also smudged with black dirt, the pillows are missing pillowcases, the shower has clumps of hair laying in it, the nightstands are sticky, the mirrors have handprints on them, the sinks are dirty, the doors are all stained, the toilet paper holders are falling off each time you use them, the bed frames have half an inch of dust on them, the chairs are all stained, and the list could go on.

It was alright very loud guests at Kate night hours yelling. Coffee is great and the front hotel rooms are way better than the rear of the property. I dint suggest staying in the back nuildings. Breakfast is hands down the best I've had recently anywhere here in Fresno CA.

The A/C could never cool the room. Room wasn’t hot just not as cool as we would like to sleep. Mattress clearly needed to be replaced. Was sagging in the middle and not comfortable. Towels were good but not replaced on our last day, which wasn’t noticed until the next morning when we showered. We shared one towel. The shower was stiff to operate. Had to pull on it pretty hard to turn on the water. Water pressure was good and shower head had good pattern. The hall always had the smell of pot smoke. Very sweet distinctive smell. In fact on the morning we left there was a joint left burning on the trash can outside. The breakfast was good. Area was clean and attendant stayed on top of everything. This was probably the best part of the stay. Can’t say I would recommend anyone staying here. Owners could do much better.

I had no trouble sleeping. The room was clean except for a few dead roaches on the floor, but at least they were dead. There was a full breakfast, but I thought the scrambled eggs were a bit undercooked. Seating was limited, so i suggest getting there earlier rather than later. Overall, it got the job done, though I'm not sure I'd stay there again.

Disgusting

We were visiting family in Fresno for the first time. They were actually worried about the hotel's location, but we were fine. We were hardly there, and it was convenient and affordable. The breakfast was okay, but some slip ups...sausage gravy too watery and undercooked potatoes, but there were tons of other options and lots of seating.

This hotel surprised me with the value and quality. Very clean, extremely nice staff, safe, quiet and big breakfast included. I was here on business and have stayed in multiple Fresno hotels in the same price range and this one exceeds them all. Not in the very best part of town but I was not worried at all on the hotel property.

I stayed at this property in 2021. Great to be back in my home town of Fresno for a short period. Everyone and everything was perfect! A hearty and healthy breakfast is served in the morning. Many places and things to discover nearby. Wonderful to be near Manchester Center again where I used to shop at and frequent in the 1980's. Blessings to Everyone!

This Best Western was about what I expect from a basic Best Western vs a Best Western Plus. The room was clean, bathroom has some dirty corners and provided just basic shampoo and bar soap, thin towels. The breakfast was fine—had bagels, waffle maker, ok coffee, styrofoam plates and plastic cups. The hotel is in a location which didn’t feel that safe in that they told us they had roaming security all night and had signs in the parking lot warning about theft. The room smelled horrible to begin with. When we turned on the heater it smelled like mold and we could not get that smell or the general bad smell out of the room. The sheets were very rough and itchy. One of the worse sleeps i have had

I liked that our room was decently clean except for the light layer of dust over the tub’s rim. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Our requests for an extra blanket, more towel sets and more in room coffee packets were met politely and delivered timely as we opted not to have room service while staying 2 nights. The biscuit gravy and make your own waffles were the favorite items of the complementary hot breakfast. What I did not like was the sketchy area around BWVI at night time. There were homeless people roaming around right in front of the property. Walking back to the hotel from the Denny’s next door, I was approached by a shady, crackhead looking man, riding a bicycle in circles around me and saying something incoherent. That was very disconcerting. I felt like I was in zombie land. I appreciated seeing the security guard patrolling the big parking lots while l was completing my nightly exercise walk. The only aesthetic feature of the hotel property are the strings of lights hung on the wooden beams, over the well lit pool area. I’m glad our view was the pool instead of the dirty and murky canal, Denny’s parking lot, or the smoke shop facility on the other side of the hotel. We booked and paid in advance for a queen room with 2 queen beds but got 2 full size beds instead. Our key cards didn’t work the next day so it was inconvenient to have to get them reactivated. Also, the only one ice machine available is in another building which didn’t work half the time.

Drive way is narrow when finding the first time. Check in great, parking lot felt secure, hot water, ac, and breakfast that starts at 6am. I was appreciative of that for this trip.

The Best Western Plus in north Fresno is extremely dirty. To start, the lobby was under construction and had tarp and cement particles dripping from the ceiling. In the room, the shower curtain has been unchanged since 2007. The light fixture was filled with bugs and the A/C HVAC system was compacted with dust and debris. Moreover, there was a high school team staying at the hotel and they made loud noises until 12am. This was by far the worst hotel I have stayed at, and it rivals even motel 6. This hotel should be lowered to 2 stars.’

This was one of my worst stays at a hotel. The location was okay for a last minute stay, but the room was horrible. The restroom was not flushing properly. The noise from the people out in the pool didn't stop until abiut 1am, and throughout the night all you could hear were footsteps from the top floor.
