We had to move rooms twice for a two night stay. The first rooms ac was not working. The second rooms toilet wasn't usable and the showers water so hot it was barely tolerable. Both times we had to move. It was unfortunate.

2nd time we stayed here and both times the hot tub was cold

One of the best hotel stays as a solo traveler I experienced.

Friendly, clean, easy access to LBJ freeway, lots of restaurants within a few minutes' drive - excellent as a home-base for a visit to Garland/Plano area.

Staff was careless and when I reported the room was not clean I was told some one would go up and clean I stayed 3 days and nothing happened. The sink was clogged up for almost the entire time I was there. It was terrible

My kids were able to play a game or few of pool while we waited for our room and later during our stay. Had to wait for almost an hour to get our room after driving for 7 hours

Location Over booked my room and was put a small noisy area across from pool and next to conference. Screaming clients running back and forth up and down hall. We had to leave to get peace. Breakfast lacking and no non pork options for guest.

Room was very clean. Ice machine and refillable water station were nice. Good WiFi. The front desk employee Cassandra was really nice & helpful when we checked in. Housekeeping staff was very nice as well. Beds were not comfortable. Shower door wouldn’t stay closed unless we used a wash cloth as a stopper. One employee I spoke to on the phone with questions was rude, I think her name was Sabrina. She didn’t really answer my questions and hung up on me without even asking if there was anything else I needed or even saying goodbye.

Clean, friendly staff, great extras, the breakfast was good. I gave it 4 starts for the patio furniture outside was worn and had tears in spots. Also, there was no Orange Juice available because they were out of it for all 3 of the days I had stayed there.

Good Experience: Nice Appeal Inside and Out/convent walking distance to Curtis Stadium/Complimentary Hot & Cold Breakfast/Easy Check in and Check In/Affordable Bad Experience: Room and areas of hotel were very humid causing everything to feel wet, sticky, muggy (furniture, bedding and clothing was damp to the touch). I had to buy a ventilation fan to try to sleep. Cleaning Staff refused to clean my room because she wanted to clean it when she wanted to...literally wanted us to leave the room so she could clean. I requested cleaning services 3 times that same day just change bedding and freshen up towel (I kept room tidy). I did put in a complaint to 2 managers. Elevator door censoring was not working properly; door would close too fast and did not sense my toddler granddaughter and the door slabbed into her and hit her on the head; after inspecting her she had a grape size bump on her forehead (which it could have been worse). I did advice the manager that the elevator needed to be checked due to other children in the hotel. That was just my experience, and I am sure many have had excellent experiences, it happens. One of the managers was very sincere with her apologizes.

The room was clean but the bed wasn't very comfortable. Very noisy as we were on 3rd floor and people above us and down our hall were banging doors and such.

Had to switch rooms 3 times. Dark out curtains had huge gap in it from being torn. The 4th floor was leaking water through the light in my shower on the 3rd floor. This obviously had been going on for a while. They changed rooms to next day, and the TV wouldn't work. Then we changed again. Anyway, had to pack and unpack 3 times in a 2 day stay? Staff was apologetic, but come on Hilton, you can do better. I pay a premium to stay at a brand hotel and expect more. The breakfast also lacked. No creamer out for coffee. No waffles, just pancakes that tasted like rubber. Some fresh fruit would be nice or some muffins.

Beds are not that comfortable and pillows are flat. But other than that the hotel is nice and the staff is great. Breakfast is buffet style. I’d say get rid of the pancake machine and just go with the old school waffle maker. Eggs are definitely out of a carton but the other options are actually not that bad. Overall stay will get 3 out of 5 because the staff was helpful and nice and location was great.

we had to come to Garland for a birthday party decided to stay at your hotel because I was told the hot tub and pool were clean and operable what a disappointment it was nasty cold and not working do not tell people that it's working properly when it's not I would have stayed somewhere else

This hotel was okay, the staff was nice but the hotel itself was not the best. some of the appliances in the room were lose. Both mine and my friends tv wasn’t working. The cleaning crew kept banging on our wall as they were cleaning. And not to mention the fire alarm kept going off several times at night and in the morning. In the end I feel like you can get a nicer hotel for the same price.

Staff was friendly. Bed was comfy and clean. Biggest issue is the shower was not hot. Luke warm at best. Sink water would get hot but shower did not.

The room was clean, however, our window shade was broken so it wouldn’t come down all the way — less privacy and can’t control the light due to this. It’s an easy fix for the hotel. Breakfast was standard — no waffles or muffins or individual yogurt. Overall, not bad for a place you need to stay and shower.

I went downstairs to the service desk to report that the smell of weed was very strong in the hallway woke me up out of my sleep I headache, my husband had to take me to the store to get headache medication. The only thing she could do is the state that she have no way in telling who and where the room is, it was kind of dry and she could move me, but it was already 1:45 in the morning. I don’t mean to be mean, but if the hotel is smoke free, it should be smoke. Free will probably not be seeing again. Thank you.

There was some wear and tear on the light fixtures and shower and bathroom wall, and curtains.

Great staff, some doors were difficult to open or close, the pool was kind of dirty, and one of the treadmills sometimes worked but other than that great service, and the rooms and lobby area were really nice and clean all the time.

Wanted to go to bed pulled back the top sheet and the was food in the bottom sheet that was not mine the other bed had tons of black hair, and it wasn't mine husband had his own room, and some had a key to his room and some man walked in on him

First room blinds didn’t close all the way-I was unpacked and had 2 young children with me- had to go downstairs show the picture- get assigned another room, go back up and move. I usually have no problem staying at Hilton. This place was not a step above a motel 6. Wasn’t not a good nights rest, you hear all the noise, all the running from a room above you.

Nothing. The water pressure in our bathroom was non existent, the ceiling above our shower was dripping water into our shower from the floor above, the tile was cracked and a hole in the floor of our bathroom. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything all night long.

The toliet flush mechanism was not working properly. Also, the power button on the tv remote did not work but was able to charge my devices and still enjoyed the stay. For whatever reason the fridge was not working either so I had to dump the milk I brought with me. In addition, someone must’ve gotten too rough with the curtains because it was difficult to raise to let in natural sunlight so once I got the curtains up I left the back curtain up and lowered the front curtain as needed when I needed privacy. Other than those four issues the stay was good. I would’ve talked to the front desk but it was not an emergency and I could live with the room as is. I mostly needed a hotel room while the roof at my house was worked on to do school work.

Clean room

Our room had mold in shower ceiling and water dripping out of shower ceiling. The pool was closed by the Garland health department. We had a huge roach in our room. Lastly, they never refilled the lotion dispenser. We were not offered a discount for the problems

Very disappointed I book 1 room with a king size bed. Went to the room it was a 2 bed room small beds . Went back to the front desk to tell the lady and she said that’s all she had . No options or nothing.

The breakfast was great and I was thankful to know they served chicken sausage because I don't eat pork so that was a plus The price could have been a bit more competitive for me being a Hilton honors member

Tru is kind of a bare bones hotel. That’s why I only have it a 4. It was clean and the staff were friendly.

I had a good time and easy access to the event at the curtis culwell center for my birthday. The AC was awesome, I wish I had something like that at my house.

The hotel was nice, the staff was good and the breakfast was delicious. BUT.....the ONLY reason I booked this specific hotel was for the indoor pool and hot tub. Upon arriving I was told the pool had been closed by the health department almost a month prior. I was disappointed that they did not update the website (or send an email/text) to disclose this. I had promised a pool to my 5 year old granddaughter and despite indicating one would be available, we were both let down. I understand things happen, but had I been advised, I would have stayed at a different location. I want to add, this trip was part of her Christmas gift, so the whole trip was planned around her. Sad eyes, complete with tears, because she couldn't swim doesn't matter to them, but it mattered a lot to me.

Health dept had the indoor pool shut down and noone even bothered to tell us, thats the only reason we booked a room there for my daughters 10th birthday so they ruined her birthday!! Mold in the bathroom along with hair in the shower, tv would not work.

Our room was very clean and very spartan in regard to furnishings. Our room offered only 1 chair and a mini fridge. No drawers or desks or even a microwave. They did put out a very nice spread for breakfast and had friendly staff. Overall our stay was pleasant.

In room, AC motor was out of balance and noisy. Laundry room was closed and sauna not working. Breakfast crew were working continuously to keep area clean. Breakfast hours should be 6 - 9:30 or 10 am.

This hotel did not disappoint as the lobby area was clean and has the modern furniture and color palette the we always expect. We love how the room TV has the guest name welcome on. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were no longer fluffy and loss it’s shape. The bathroom toiletries scents are always my favorite in Tru hotels and never disappoints. The towels however does not smell clean. Overall, we had a comfortable stay in this hotel and likes how it is close to Panda Express.

the hotel is pretty new and clean and you can see them cleaning all the time. Also pet friendly, as you walk through the door they have water bowls for dogs. I appreciate the room was minimal carpet and clean because we took our small dog with us. The area is new and upscale and all the new restaurants are there across George Bush Hwy. Also close is Firewheel town center which has a cinema, shopping and more dining. Will come back again to this hotel.

Desk clerk absent when I arrived. Waited 5+ minutes. Clerk so quiet I clouldn't hear them. Room small. AC great. Bed comfortable. TV didn't receive half the stations, and small number it did were pixelated. Couldn't log in to wifi without extended registration. Had to leave the room to get water. Motel 6 would have been cheaper and likely better.

New, Modern and clean. Staff helpful. My only comment was that they clean the room everyother day and they did not mention this when we checked in. We were under the impression that the room would be cleaned and the towels will be changed, and we came late at night finiding our room not cleaned. There was no one answering the service line. other thn that, the property is nice and clean, staff were friendly and price was very reasonable to the service provided. Would stay there again and would recommend it.

The elevators and hallway (2nd floor) smelled bad. I was surprised as it was not the typical Hilton that I enjoy. It reminded me of a bare bones hotel - very minimal.

There were tiles from the baseboard in the bathroom just sitting on the floor. The AC sounded like it had water running through it and one of the shades was broken.

Will definitely stay again when traveling that way!!! Staff was amazing!!

Everything was great except the hallway my room was on stunk from pet urin all 4 days I was there.

The shower water temp was either cold or scalding and was hard to get a good temp for a shower. The tile work needs a lot of grout work as there were pretty good gaps in between each tile. The room overall looks ok but was clearly some water and ceiling damage that they just painted over.

Everything was wonderful.

1.) AC was broken and was extremely loud, waking me up at multiple times over the course of the night. 2.) When I arrived the battery on my door was dead, so I couldn't leave my room as I pleased until the following morning when there was a tech available to fix it. 3.) Water pressure was extremely low and almost impossible to use sinks and shower. 4.) Walls are paper thin and there is no noise control. I could hear full conversations from other rooms on both sides. There was banging all night and loud TV's. 5.) Housekeeping banging on the door way too early in the morning. 6.) I was laying in bed on my last night, I shut my eyes for a little, when I re-opened them I saw one of the biggest roaches Ive ever seen in my life staring at me on the wall. 7.)The hallways smell like wet dog and mold, there needs to be some kind of air freshening. 8.) No complimentary bottled waters in the room. But if you go down to the lobby they are selling tiny water bottles for $7. For seven dollars!!!!!!!

The hotel was very clean, the beds were comfortable. It was easy to find and very conveniently located for what I needed. Check in was a breeze, the clerk was very friendly. Theres a couple of boards by the elevators with recommendations on restaurants, things to do, when to avoid traffic, which i thought was pretty awesome.

I didn’t know it was a pet friendly hotel when I booked. There were too many dogs on the property. I prefer a no pets allowed hotel.

The room had a terrible body odor. The sheets and pillows smelled awful. The swimming pool was cold. If I had not have returned late in the evening I would have requested another room. I will find another hotel in the future.

If you want to see your first new, but run-down Hotel, this is it. The black out blinds were connected to motorized system that would not stop on its own. On close they binded because it was out of the track and one side ended up down while the other was still up. The rooms decor looks like it was purchased from a 99 cents store. This is an upgrade from a Motel 6, so don't let the pricing fool you, the only 'Tru' here is this ain't no Hilton.

Wish the pool stayed open longer for the softball players that have late games

Check in was terrible and took over an hour. The hotel had increased the rate of one of my two rooms and spent an hour arguing with me and another half hour yelling at hotels.com over the phone. The pool was soiled and the hot tub was shut down. The gym was a joke with broken and missing equipment. Never again!!

The hotel was very colorful, neat and clean. We appreciated the extension on the check out due to the time of the funeral I was attending. The breakfast was hot and delicious, enjoyed the selection.

There’s a nice, fresh smell when you walk in. Check in was easy as front desk girl was friendly. Love the pool table and other gamea in the lobby! Plenty of places to sit. Breakfast was really good for a free breakfast. Room was clean & love all the xtra charger ports, lights & hooks to hang bags/purses etc on. Bathroom had plenty of lights. Shower is nice & roomy with nice lemony smelling shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lotion in dispensers on hand.Only issue at all was inside shower there’s a foot rest for shaving legs. When you put your foot on it, it’s coming off the wall & while they offered body wash/shampoo etc, there wasn’t enough for 4 ppl for the every other day of housekeeping every other day so no major complaints. Ms. Sabrina @ the front desk is a gem!! My husband hung out in the lobby people watching, letting me sleep late & she was patient & friendly with every customer. Even the rude &/or grumpy folks. We stayed here 3-4 months ago. She was working then & she remembered us from the previous visit, making us feel special & valued. She’s so accommodating & patient with all customers. Please know you have a special employee with Ms. Sabrina!! We’re coming back to Garland several times in the next month & we’ve already reserved a room here for both upcoming stays

Hotel stay was fine overall. A little disappointed with the condition of the bathroom. Toilet ran non-stop, shelf in the shower was falling off with a shoddy repair attempt, and tile was cracked. The rest of the room was in good condition and comfortable though.

The bed was extremely hard. The window curtain wasn't functioning....stuck down. Our door did not lock automatically. You had to pull it shut to click. It does have a decent indoor pool. Hot tub wasn't functioning.

The front desk lady was so kind and courteous! I wish I knew her name, but she was blonde with long hair. It’s amazing how we just don’t see that kind of service anymore - it was a really nice surprise. The property is quiet, clean and has easy access to the highway for travelers like myself.

However, the condition of the bathroom was only fair. There were noisy loose tiles on the bathroom floor and the shower had a loose footstool.

Everything was 4 stars except NO microwave in the room and the refrigerator hardly worked.

Enjoy my stay at this spot, first time there but will def stay again.

The phone and television did not work. The folks at the front desk said that they have no idea how to fix problem.

I was at the hotel for a cheer competition event for my daughter. There were no clean towels for me and other families to use. The front desk staff was professional, but explained that there was no one on duty to get the guests clean towels to shower with. This was terrible service, considering the EXPENSE of the room. I would think that the owner/management would consider the capacity of guests that weekend, and make adjustments accordingly to accommodate paying customers, NOT to mention the name and reputation of Hilton hotels. This is the first bad experience I have had at a Hilton!

Check out on this app stated 12pm. Check out was 11am. Lots of loud noisy kids. Overall stay was fine.

The tile in the bathroom needed replacing. Tiles were broken and moved and squeaked when stood on. Also the bathroom door squeaked as well.

Quick and easy check in with friendly staff, everything was clean. They had lots of activities like games and shooting pool available. Location was walking distance to many stores and restaurants. The breakfast was a nice bonus.

Booked this hotel for my son's birthday trip. Searched for days for a hotel with an indoor pool AND hot tub. Upon arrival it was not disclosed that the entire pool area is closed for renovations. Looks like they are sandblasting and re-doing everything. I'm sure it will look great once it's completed and I would probably stay here in the future once the repairs are complete but I wish the reviews or at front desk disclosed that information before booking. I was given a full refund, to that I am thankful. But again, that left me and my family looking for a new hotel at 9pm on a Friday night in DFW area. Not very ideal.

The pool seemed poorly serviced, dirty and had a smell. Getting clean towels was a hassle. Breakfast and service was good. Everyone was polite

The front desk clerk was absolutely the kindest person I have came across staying in hotels. She was so helpful and just made it easier for me. Hands down good staff.

The location was great. However, the stay was average. Breakfast wasn’t very good, the pool was freezing, the blinds in our room were broken and the thermostat was awful.

Broken and uneven tiles on bathroom floor. Heater blew cool air and was very noisy. Obvious rot around shower and bathroom. Wallpaper starting to peel off in bathroom. Gap under entry door, caused constant light and noise all night. Could hear everything in the next room because of thin walls or lack of sound barrier. Definitely not up to normal Hilton standards

The staff at check-in was so nice. She explained all of the amenities and made sure that we had everything that we needed.

The staff is UHmazing!! All smiles, super friendly, and always checking on you. Room was comfortable, bed and pillows awesome. Breakfast is run smoothly and was always stocked. Game room/hang out space needs some sprucing up.

Overall, everything was great and this had quickly become one of my favorite hotels in the area! My kids were in love with the soft mattresses and had a blast playing in the indoor pool for hours. We stayed for 2 nights and then ended up extending our stay for an additional night. The only issue we had was that the tv in my room was malfunctioning to where the tv remote wouldn't work on the tv. I requested a new one but it still wouldn't work. I was then told that this room had been previously been reported with the same problem by previous travelers. A little disappointing but not a deal breaker. I'd definitely stay here again in the future.

I can’t compliment this establishment enough. Great welcoming, free water bottles (great after trips) provided @ check in. Great location, Room had personalized welcome on the TV for a great touch. Minimalistic kept the room clutter free & modern. Looking for another TRU to stay @ for my next trip!!
