Reviews
The hotel received overwhelmingly negative reviews, with guests consistently citing dirty rooms and poor maintenance as major issues. Many guests reported finding stains, mold, and even blood on bedding and in bathrooms.
- Convenient location
- Friendly staff
- Dirty rooms with stained and soiled bedding
- Poor maintenance and outdated facilities

The room had black mold I couldn't lock my door beyond the electronic lock the floors were dirty the hair dryer started to smoke and the guy at the front desk anytime I had a problem told me if I didn't like it to contact customer service
- 4/5
Overall, it was a good stay. Dirty outside, but the room was clean and comfortable. Good for checking in to sleep and shower. The Denny’s next door was good for breakfast anytime.
- 3/5
Do not recommend this place for more than one night and just a quick stopover. I booked this place for four nights, immediately regretted it but bed was comfortable. Shower was NEVER hot and the door safety latch was makeshift and not screwed in properly so if someone wanted to break in, they could! Luckily, place is located in an area that isn't sketch but motel can use major upkeep and upgrades. Unbelievable that they charge this much $$$$ for the lack of basic necessity possible!

I’m elderly and they put me on 3rd floor
- 4/5
Older relatively clean not modernized out side rough.
- 1/5
The room smelled like someone had smoked cigars in it. It stank. We are going to ask for our money back or at least a significant discount. Also, the toilet barely functioned. Having a plunger in the bathroom is not good maintenance. Terrible experience. I told the staff in the morning and they couldn't be bothered to apologize. All they said was "We'll let them know." Terrible customer service.
- 3/5
The bathroom was coated in black mold and mildew since they didn’t have bathroom fans. Also the pool was closed :( However, there was great access to restaurants and gas stations within walking distance. It also is really close to the freeway

- 5/5
Decent property. Decent staff
- 1/5
Elevator was broken. Was not given new towels. Bedding was dirty.
- 1/5
This was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in. There was fecal matter on the seat. There was hair in the shower. There were bugs living in the sink. The floors were sticky. The shower was falling apart. I rented a different room. I'm worried that just in the brief time I was there I was exposed to be bugs or something else. I will not stay at another la quinta or Wyndham property. Neither will anyone I send to a project.
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. When I first read all of the reviews i second-guessed myself when I booked here. The place is okay for the price. Our shower was nice, constant pressure and temperature. You had typical food for breakfast. I saw one small ant, my friend saw a small spider. It served the purpose and was fifteen minutes from Red Rocks. The main reason we were there!!
- 4/5
Pool was closed no vending could have more options for breakfast other then waffles and bagles been to other properties they had eggs hashbrowns and sausage
- 1/5
The hotel lobby smelled of smoke. The desk attendant was friendly. We went to our room and the floors were soiled and it had a heavy smell of smoke. My wife has asthma and couldn't stand to be in the room so I returned the key cards within 15 minutes. The desk attendant understood and would not have charged except I paid through hotels.com so he couldn't stop the room charge. I purchased the travel insurance through hotels.com but they are disputing the refund because it doesn't fit one of their very exact definitions of an issue. At this point I'm disputing with the credit card company and still emailing with the travel insurance people. Be aware the motel is inexpensive for a reason and the travel insurance appears to be a scam because they won't stand behind it to refund your money.

Not to like? No local maps or info available about local attractions. Their website said the pool was to open May 27. At check in on June 1, I was told it was "in process." The refrigerator in our room had a puddle in the bottom and parts missing from the door storage. The toilet seat was loose. There was no stopper in the sink. "Amenities" = 1 bar of soap, an empty tube of shampoo. The carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in areas. Lights were not bright enough to read by. WiFi showed "security is weak." There's ONE working Ice machine in the whole place, on the 2nd [of 3] floors! Breakfast choices were decent: waffles, bagels, muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, sausage patties, oranges, apples, juice, coffee, milk, cold cereal...except by 8:30 they were running out of things. The "attendant" was not very attentive! You had to ask for more coffee, eggs....or PLASTICWARE! We arrived Monday June 1. Tuesday morning we woke to NO TV reception. The front desk told us the whole motel was without service. Later, my husband was told there was a multi state "outage" for DISH TV. TV never came back by 11:00 Wed. My husband checked DISH online and there was NO SUCH OUTAGE. Registering complaints, we were told: by the front desk person: the property is in the middle of being sold! Obviously the owner now doesn't care!

The actual accommodation was fine, bed comfortable. The building is kind of old and feels that way. However, the price was good.

Moldy bathrooms. Stinky rooms and outside the rooms. Room was in terrible condition. Pool was closed and had what looked like black stuff at bottom of pool. My advice stay somewhere else

Didn't like the room very dirty bed had stains curtains had stains the mattress had stains stains on the floor in the bathroom refrigerator did not work check out a day early and went to another hotel
- 2/5
The hotel itself is very out dated beings the location. The room was not very clean and there was hair on the pillows, the walls are very thin and I was able to hear everything, from the traffic on I-70 to people having conversations outside. They also did not offer much for breakfast, cereal, oatmeal, and a waffle maker, in the fridge was some yogurt cups and frozen sausage patties and a choice of coffee or water and my son wanted juice.
- 2/5
not clean
- 4/5
The room was clean, neat, and well presented. There was a small hole in the bottom of the bathroom door but I didn't notice any other damage. I wasn't disturbed by noise. The breakfast was average for a hotel breakfast but a good one at this room price point. I was looking for an inexpensive room but I was a little leery of this hotel because of some of the negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised! If I need a room in that area again I will stay there. The desk clerk at check in could have been more personable but he was professional, efficient, and capablely got me checked in.

The couch was stained and smelled ,the chair for the table /office had food crumbs ,the POWER WENT OUT ON OUR SECOND day there, THE ENTRANCE AND LOBBY AND ROOM HAD A DIRTY STENCH to it! NEVER AGAIN
- 3/5
This is an older style yellow la Quinta.. the toilet ran every other minute in my room and that was pretty annoying and wasteful of water. I tried to make it stop, but it just kept going. I was only there for about 12 hours, so I didn’t bother telling the staff because I didn’t have time to deal with a room change or repair. The tv came on, the guide worked, but all channels were blank. Stains on doors, caulk coming off of the sink rim, just kind of dingy all around. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable enough which is really all I needed. It could use a facelift, but I’ve definitely stayed in worse. I’d still stay there again for the price and convenience to Lutheran Hospital. If I’d been there longer, I would have addressed the issues I had, but overall, it was just ok.

Skip this hotel. Staying at a 1940's road side motel would be a way better choice. Couldn't get checked to my room until 8pm. Finally got in and the room was very unclean. The toilet didn't work. The towels folded up were dirty. The shower was clogged. The air conditioner sucked. Tried calling front deck and the room phone didn't work. Called on my cell and was told nothing could be done. The manager would call me the following day. Never received call. This place sucks.

We checked in super late. The gentleman was so nice. The room was very clean. Comfortable bed. Just a great stay.

The price and location to Red Rocks was awesome. It was very dated. The pool was drained, the elevator didn't work, electricity was out when we got there and couldn't check in. Rhe breakfast selection was a disappointment compared to other La Quintas wr stay at.
- 3/5
A little paint and a deep cleaning is needed. Also be aware, if you book thru Hotels.com they will put you on the third floor with no elevator and will not change rooms for you.
- 2/5
Our rooms all had issues including a leaking toilet that was not taken care of the bathroom was dirty. TV didn't work in 1 room and none of the phone in the 3 rooms worked.
- 1/5
There was no power when we got there
- 1/5
Worst service I have ever had. Keys never worked, constantly locked out of my room. Desk clerk would not let me in to get my things despite multiple identifications. Missed my concert because I had to get police involved. Customer service absolutely terrible!!!
- 2.5/5
The customer service was great It was run down, the pool was not open and we were unaware of this. The main entrance smelled weird/awful. The elevators did not work, maids were sitting in rooms on their phones and their carts were completely in our way when we walked by. When we got tour room, the bedding was dirty, it smelled like smoke and something trying to cover it. The tub had stains on the bottom that were brown. And my child saw body imprints on the headboard! Front desk was so kind. When I walked in to check in it looked like a manager was telling someone how to dispose of something while cleaning and he was not quiet about it.
- 1/5
Drive up and a police car was patrolling the parking lot TV was broken Lights did not turn on Tub looked painted Politely returned the key and left after 45 minutes

This was terrible! The door did not lock and could be opened without the key. The room was not cleaned. There was dirty clothes left on the floor from the last guest. Had to tough it out for one night since flight got in so late. Itched all night and awoke to bed bugs! Booked for two nights initially but had to leave. Tried to get a refund and they refused. Give me my money back!

This hotel is not as described on Hotels. com. It is rundown. Many of the people checking in are sketchy at best and I am not a snob or a Karen. As soon as I arrived and saw the conditions, I immediately booked at a near by Hampton Inn. I will be contacting Hotels.com for a refund.
- 2/5
The first room had issues, but they did move us to a second room that worked. The manager was nice and did the best he could given the circumstances. The property is in pretty rough shape. The bed was really bad. Lots of room for improvement.

Definitely not a Wyndham property could use a major upgrade from outside to in the rooms. Bathtubs need some serious replacements. Had previously requested first floor due to mobility issues. When we checked in staying for three nights we were put in third floor. Elevator only goes to second floor. The next day manager was helpful to move us to first floor. The entire complex needs a good scrubbing. Only positive room was clean. Good towels.
- 5/5
It had every thing we needed.
- 2/5
I was on the third floor but the elevator only goes to the second floor. The toilet refilled every 10 minutes. All night long. The TV didn't work. And the lamp over the desk didn't work. The door was missing the security lock. And the shower had no shower curtain. Made for a very wet bathroom
- 1/5
Horrible stains, trash, and bugs littering the room. When I tried to get a refund to go somewhere else within 5 minutes of checking in, the staff refused to give me my money back
- 1/5
When I stayed here 3 days earlier, I made this 3 night reservation and requested a first floor room because I am 73, disabled and they have NO ELEVATOR. When I arrived, I was given a third floor room. The desk clerk on duty even told me he had seen the request for a 1st floor room. Lugging my bags to the third floor would simply have been impossible! I cancelled on the spot and went elsewhere. VERY unhappy

I went to just sleep but the motel has warnings about not opening the door as people you don’t want in your room may try to enter. Seems like things that they should warn about in person at the front if that is a genuine concern of theirs. Properly felt unsafe with loud banging down the hall on a door at 1:30 am
- 3/5
The breakfast looked fine. The hotel needs an update.
- 5/5
Located on the west side of Denver, this property has easy access to Interstate 70 and adequate parking for both cars and trailers.Although starting to show its age, this property has been well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. And the shower had lots of pressure and hot water. Staff members were pleasant. Restaurants and gas stations were in close proximity.

Our last night there a fire started in the trees on the grounds. It burned 3 vehicles. Fire department was there very quickly and took care of it. However, the blasting fire alarm stayed on the remainder of our time there which was a few hours!!

Nothing it was disgusting Blood stains on the bedding, running and stained toilet, leaking sink, lock on the door didn’t work properly. Hotel was absolutely disgusting. We left immediately and didn’t stay.
- 4/5
Outside area around hotel could have used some dog poop/trash removal. Cinco de Mayo weekend could have had an impact. Room was clean. One wall lamp was pretty much destroyed. Bathtub had been relined and not sealed properly. Standing in the tub was kind of like riding a surfboard. A safety rail would have helped. Water may have been trapped between the tub bottom and the tub mat that appeared to be glued down. This may have accounted for the tiny bugs that were running around. Not a lot of them. Taking into consideration that this is a fairly old hotel, not bad.
- 3/5
No fridge in room and not accessible for elderly mother. Didn't realize there was an elevator until checkout time. Was a great drive in and off freeway. You can hear the highway and sirens near by. d Overall was ok for the price.

I like the location I like that it was right next to a convenience store and other stores. The room was clean. Coffee was nice and hot very hot the way I like it. Breakfast was decent. Rooms could have smelled better. Had a animal urine smell. Also cigarette smell. The lobby could have smelled fresher too.

- 4/5
The rooms appear to be clean and are comfortable. There are no real amenities. I’ve never seen the pool open. The front-desk staff is generally hot or miss in terms of professionalism & courtesy. It seems as though the house cleaning staff does a good job with cleaning the rooms. It’s also nice tor them to provide water in the lobby for customers.
- 2/5
However, it is extremely dated and looks nothing like the pictures. All rooms are supposed to be nonsmoking. The first room we had definitely was smoked in, appliances were old, curtains were falling off. We were given a different room which was better. The only thing that was hot for breakfast was the coffee and make your own waffles. There were bagels that you could toast and cold cereal.

Only good things I have to say is the toilet paper was not the cheap brand and the shower had pressure. Toilet would not go down and went to staff and was handed a plunger. Wall and ceiling are very thin so you hear everything. They did not even have any juices for breakfast so don't plan on eating much. Live and learn; never staying there again.

I didn’t spend too much time at the hotel during my stay. The front desk team member seemed to be rather unalert and almost zombie-like, with no emotional or sense of hospitality. The room was comfortable and overall clean. The property is pretty rundown. It’s conveniently located along the I-70 corridor.

First of all the person who checked up on said we couldn’t check in early and we would have to come back in an hour with was 11:30am and 55 dollars and he was extremely rude. We get to our first room and the TV doesn’t work and go to use the restroom and the toilet and the shower are absolutely disgusting. Turn on the shower to shower and there is air in the line and when it blasted out it was brown water. The ac/heat didn’t not work. We go to the other room and there are ants EVERYWHERE. The AC/heat also barely worked in that room and made a terrible noise. The shower in this bathroom would be set to a temperature and then it would melt your skin and would get boiling hot on its own. We had a horrible experience there. I don’t recommend staying there.
- 2/5
The staff was helpful but the property was dirty and there were bugs in the room. Sheets and mattresses were stained and carpet had lots of debris.

The woman at the front desk was lovely and extremely helpful. The rooms, however, were not great. The first room I was put in, there was no bath plug, no microwave, and no refrigerator even though those things were advertised when the room was booked. The bath was also running when I walked in for the first time. The second room, there was also no bath plug, microwave, or fridge, and this time the bath looked like it still needed to be cleaned. The third room had a bath plug, but no microwave and no fridge, and the room smelled like body odor.

There was a very weird smell in the lobby, to the point I could not stomach the thought of eating the free breakfast in the dining area of the lobby. The hot water does not work the same throughout the building. What was nice is they switched us rooms, it’s just odd to have that issue. The rooms could be more clean and the lights in the second room did not work. It’s not a bad place, you just have to know what you’re getting for your buck.
- 2/5
The lobby itself had an unpleasant odor. My room 134 was all kinds of broken. Frist the refrigerator wasn't cooling, it had a puddle of water at the bottom. Plus not all of the bathroom lights were working and the shower was spraying out of the side getting water everywhere. And the bottom of the bathtub was warped/ broken. Worse LA QUNTIA ever.

Bathroom floor was not cleaned at all. Cigarette ashes on the floor, hair in the sink wall and bathtub. Weird cloth hanging on the shower rod. A red line below the tap in the shower (looked awful). Breakfast was not good as advertised. Just the waffle maker and coffee maker were good.

We got in late, and the man at the front desk was beyond rude to my daughter and me. The pictures don't match the property. No elevator to get to the third floor, and the concrete steps they have are quite literally crumbling. The breakfast was the worst at any La Quinta that I have been to. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The hotel looks sketchy from the outside, but rooms are clean. The staff are very nice and kind. Good place for a 1 night stay!
- 4/5
I liked the comfortable beds and the clean bathrooms. Overall the staff was very nice as well. The only reason some ratings weren't as good as others is because certain facilities, like the fridge both rooms I rented, did not work. The outlets were also loose in one room and messed with the connection of whatever was plugged in.
- 1/5
What I totally resent is the fact that they wouldn't extend my stay even though I had paid for it and now they're saying I can't get a refund unless I pay some huge tax fee I'll take care of this though

We didn't eat breakfast but the location is very convenient for where we had to be that weekend. Hotel was getting old and run down and the cleanliness was very poor.

I didn’t stay, unfortunately I had selected the wrong location when I booked my stay. But trying to get everything situated staff was extremely rude and unwilling to help. It was actually hung up on twice when trying to ask questions and get things figured out. As I did not stay at the property. Reading the reviews on multiple different sites. I’m actually kind of glad I didn’t stay. But for my experience trying to get through to the staff and talking to the staff again I’m glad I didn’t stay. They were rude unprofessional. I’m surprised that any third-party booking would even consider this place as a listing.
- 2/5
I stayed there 6 months ago and found the accomodations to be fine, however, not so much this stay. I am unsure if the previous room had been updated recently but the room I checked into on the 26th, was not okay. I actually requested to be moved but then decided to check out and stay elsewhere. The staff was very understanding, accomodating, and courteous. I just could not stay there a 2nd night.
- 3/5
Room smelt very old, ac was blasting out a dusty dirty smell, water smelt like iron and gross
- 2/5
The place wasn’t the greatest. The room was okay but the carpet and bathroom were dirty. The bedding didn’t seem washed. Would not stay here again.
- 4/5
We had a wonderful three-night stay at La Quinta. The room was clean and comfortable, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We truly appreciated how pleasant and stress-free our stay was, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return the next time we’re in town
- 5/5
Good !
- 1/5
I’ll give the one star because the guy who helped me check in and out was really nice and understanding. However, to be honest, my friend and I checked out the same night/morning. We checked in at around 12AM and checked out at 3AM. The room was dirty. All three bed sheets were stained and worn out. The tub was dirty. The elevator was not working to the third floor. One key card worked the other didn’t. We ended up checking into another hotel and I will be contacting this hotel to get a refund. My friend and I were not going to sleep in those beds nor shower in that tub. Also the closet door had a hole and the wall had a scratched P on it. I took pictures because I want our money back. We could have asked for a different room or work it out with the employee at the front desk but we were not willing to take the risk.
- 4/5
Nice, but still haven't gotten my deposit back yet, not sur
- 3/5
The front desk attendant was professional but rather impersonal. The bed linens had visible stains on them. The bathroom sink has a persistent leak that can't be stopped with any valve position. The television signal didn't work due to "No Cable Signal". I checked every connection to the TV, router, and cable cord, and couldn't identify the disconnect. Upon checking out, the front desk attendant didn't ask how my stay was, which is probably a good thing.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was friendly in the morning and I like the gentleman at work counter in the afternoon or lady I'm not sure which
- 4/5
Clean room. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast.
- 3/5
There was a lot of deferred maintenance needed throughout all budlings. Staff was great.
- 2/5
-Majority Staff: true poor customer service -Delivery truck delivering supplies 5am, using entry door by guests' rooms -Hot shower turned cold, while showering - only 1working elevator for entire establishment -Faulty key cards (neither keys placed near magnetic devices- CSR blamed us)
- 4/5
Rooms could be more insulated could hear others conversations and dogs. I prefer top units but never get my request when booking 3 rd party
- 4/5
Good, clean room. Pet friendly, they had same - night availability. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because the room was advertised on Expedia as being able to sleep 5, but it can only sleep 4. The office said they did not have cots available. It was me, my husband, and our 3 kids. We needed 5 places to sleep.
- 3/5
Was ok for the price though one would think better quality. Can hear others in rooms and dogs just roam without leashes
- 1/5
We had to switch rooms after night one. So many problems with the room. The shower head was cracked on the side and shooting water over the shower curtain. 3 of 4 light bulbs were out in bathroom, exhaust fan didn’t work, tub felt like we were going to fall through. Bugs in the light fixtures. The electric sockets were so old that plugs would not stay in. Refrigerator was super loud. The silicone caulking was moldy and black in sink and tub. The second room was almost as bad. I have stayed at La Quintas several times and have never had such poor rooms. This hotel needs to be renovated badly. The landscaping and everything on the outside is in poor condition. The “Continental” breakfast consisted of stale bagels, no cream cheese, cereal and a waffle maker that was not working correctly. No juice, no fruit, no bread. I just had an absolute terrible stay and would never recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Staff was helpful, room was clean
- 2/5
Staff was great. Hotel needs updating and hot water for showers would be a great start.
- 2/5
The staff was great! The understand that the hotel is old. We had a few days of lukewarm shadows and a TV that did not work. The lobby had a sewage smell when coming down the stairs.
- 3/5
The staff was very nice the room was clean only issue I had was our TV wouldn't work it would turn on but we couldn't change the channel or do anything
- 2/5
Just old and dingy. Staff was really nice tho.

- 1/5
Very dirty and unorganized I wouldn’t recommend anyone.
- 3/5
The staff here was very nice. We had a hang up with chec
- 3/5
Room was a little dirty, bathroom had hair everywhere. Sink was dirty as well. Overall, beds were clean and room.
- 1/5
I wish it had where I could upload pics! Rooms were in shambles! No way front desk doesn’t know what rooms are available! It that was true. Someone needs fired asap!
- 1/5
No heat, no hot water, dirty sheets, locked out of room with key/ key stopped working and staff can't find master key.. Everyone is in the lobby with same issue
- 4/5

- 5/5
Brittany at the front desk is amazing!!! Wonderful checkin!! Courteous and extremely pleasant!!! She's great!!
- 1/5
Staff was incredibly rude.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was nice, everything was great.
- 3/5
La habitación muy bien pero el desayuno lo quitaron de un momento a otro muchos huéspedes se quedaron sin desayunar
- 1/5
Dirty stained sheets, dirty lobby as soon as you step in food and crumbs on the floor. So we did not stay because there was no cleaning services due to it being christmas. So we left and hotel does not want to give us a refund!! Worst expensive booking through expedia. Expedia does not want to refund us either. Do not book through them!! So disappointed
- 5/5
Was great and stress free. They also upgraded our room as a complimentary gesture. It was nice after the headache we had just had from another hotel.
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing, decently good room
- 1/5
Terrible service, the deposit was not returned even though nothing was damaged or broken, they don't respond to messages, and they charged us $30 for arriving an hour early, even though the person at check-in said it was free.
- 1/5
Fist assigned room was not cleaned. Fast food wrappers all over, left over cupcakes, towels all over the room. Second assigned room staff member was unsure if the room had been cleaned or not, beds not made, toilet did not work, door hinge lock broken and held on by caulk or not.
- 1/5
filthy rooms, broken door chain lock, very run down place, elevator did not work, we left just after checkin and asked for refund
- 1/5
There is blood on blanket, very disgusting. Refridge not clean at all.
- 2/5
The room was on ruins, big water stains on the ceiling, look like water running on the wall the paint start peeling, bathroom was clogged, outside was on completely darkness, in the room we found a bottle of milk, this needs mayor upgrade

Great Staff, Clean Rooms
- 1/5
The shower did not have any pressure, and the room had bed bugs
- 3/5
This hotel is right on East Colfax in the heart of downtown Denver. Lot of action going on outside there was a concert across the street. Weird people in the neighborhood. Old hotel towels like sandpaper securities iffy but it served my purpose for the night.
- 1/5
Worst place, I ever stayed the whole entire time. We were harassed by staff. I asked for a microwave to be replaced or fixed, they kept telling us they'll make a note about it. The whole 10 days were there. We had no microwave, flooded, clogged sink and no not one time did they stop to ask if we needed towels or anything else we had to go to the front desk every time.
- 2/5
Room was nasty
- 2/5
Main lobby had an odor that was unpleasant. The breakfast was barely average. Room was dated and needed cosmetic updates at a bare minimum. Bedding and sheets were clean, but TV remotes (we had 3 rooms between the group) and 1 of the TVs didn't work. Towels had obvious stains. Bathrooms need immediate updating and service (including ALL grout-work)

- 2/5
Arrival at the office is nice. Nicely remodeled lobby and breakfast area. The rooms left much to be desired! Moldy grout, tub not draining well. Dirty stains on tables. TV screen was burned out. Towel with dried blood stain. Great motel for budget conscious folks. Not what I expected from the advertising photos. Bed was adequate, pillows nice. Old and worn out would be the overall appearance to me. Need better cleaners for sure.
- 4/5
Clean rooms and kind front desk
- 1/5
I was locked out of my room so I was not able to get my things until the next day at 11am. ended up having to go somewhere else and I need a refund because I was unable to stay there for the night. There was no hot water, the room was dirty and the privacy curtain was damaged. very terrible experience and not at all impressed with the business and how they treat their customers and how little they cared about providing a clean and comfortable place to stay. The employees do not look like they are appreciated and therefor why should they provide exceelent service if they are not even treated well either. This company needs to do better!
- 5/5
Room was clean and easy to navigate. Good resting spot for Red Rock Amphitheater.
- 4/5
Heater didnt work well
- 2/5
The room was not well cleaned, the coffee maker was in the sink. No microwave or refrigerator. And bad smell And the elevator didn't work.
- 4/5
Clean, spacious. Easy to park. Close to food and shopping.
- 1/5
Didn’t have sheets on pull out bed or extra bedding blankets for us I asked front desk and he couldn’t get any for us. No hot water to shower.
- 2/5
Visible mold in the shower and during a three day stay our room wasn't cleaned once.
- 1/5
Do not stay at this place. They don’t clean the room daily. Also they have run around about cleaning schedule. People working there don’t really care. Avoid this place!
- 2/5
Dirty and smelly room. Decided not shower there.
- 5/5
Everything was as expected.
- 1/5
We went to the front desk and described all that we had encountered thus far. She made a weak apology and signed us to another room. We reloaded the truck and drove to that space. It was a "Handicapped Only" space flanked on both sides by cement access ramps, which made for difficult moving and unloading. Inside we found one king-sized bed, a step down from the two Queen beds we'd had in the other room--but anything was better than returning to Turd Land. This bathroom was also filthy and musty. Again the corners of the room had literal piles of dust and detritus in all four. The toilet had no human waste in it, but the bowl had a gray sheen on the porcelain, and whoever had last cleaned it left disgusting smears of hair and dirt on the front of the bowl beneath the seat.
- 5/5
Nice rooms, nice check in people
- 4/5
Did not have breakfast
- 3/5
Shower head is VERY LOW. Toilet seat is EXTREMELY loose.
- 5/5
It’s a quick jaunt to the red rocks and a great central location for a first time visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I visit. Tysm
- 3/5
Central location with good free breakfast. Property is outdated and in need of renovation.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
The service was amazing and the workers were friendly and professional.
- 5/5
Although this property is dated, our room was well maintained and clean. With close proximity to Interstate 70 and easy parking, this property was extremely convenient.
- 1/5
Property was not clean room has stains all over bathtub. Bed spreads were dirty. Changed room 3 times and could not sleep and cancelled my second night
- 3/5
Ill prepared
- 3/5
Place could use a bunch of upgrades.
- 2/5
Room was outdated, the elevator didn’t work, the sink faucet leaked and the beds were uncomfortable.
- 3/5
The room needs to be updated. No counter space in the bathroom for personal items. Microwave and TV did not work. Pillows very uncomfortable.
- 5/5
The hotel was conveniently located off of I-70 in Golden and right next to a Maverick gas station (if you wanted to purchase some convenience store items. The hot breakfast was very good as well.
- 2/5
Pet feces were right out my room. No one to clean it up. Phone in room didn't work to call desk, tv in room didn't work.
- 2/5
1. I checked the website for amenities and it listed a hair dryer so we did not pack one. When we arrived we found our room (107??) did not have one but the front desk moved us to another room (109)? Seriously, move all our partially unpacked bags to another room instead of just giving us a hair dryer? 2. Our new room had a smoke detector but it was on the dresser - not on the wall where it should be. 3. As I took my first shower I found long red hair on the shower wall - we are both in our seventies and very gray. 4. The toilet seat was loose and wobbly - we have enough problems with balance we don't need you adding challenges. 5. We had an iron (thank you) but no Ironing board - your staff got us one. 6. When we got back to our room the second day (three day stay) our keys did not work - easily fixed but why?? 7. While looking for somethin beside the second double bed I found fruit loops cereal. Perhaps your staff need more powerful vacuums. 8. The first night the TV did not work, the second night it was on but we could not adjust the volume. The third night it would not turn on. The solution suggested was that we change rooms (yes again) but we were so frustrated we just read our books. 9. When I went to
- 3/5
The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The first room we were in had an issue with the air conditioner. It was literally falling off of the wall. There was an opening where bugs/insects could go into the room. The staff was accommodating and were able to give us another room. That room was pretty clean but there were some bugs by the window. The only other issue with this room was that the water in the shower would not turn completely off and was constantly running. Some positives about the place were that it was close to the venue we were visiting and there were stores and restaurants in walking distance.
- 1/5
Parking was safe and the breakfast was included as well as a fridge and microwave in our room. Although, our room was not clean, the shower head was leaking (only when water was turned on), there was dirt in the corners of the bathroom (mold?), walls were dirty, lots of dust, dark black hair was found in the bed and the pillow cases were dirty; along with that, we found a shirt from the people that stayed there prior. Overall, we would not recommend, find something else.
- 4/5
We need to use the plug behind the bed and it had been clear that it had not been cleaned behind there for some time. The shower needed more thorough cleaning as well.
- 2/5
Crack walls ceiling, bathroom, bed dirty, clean pillows covers, stained pillows The odor is faul
- 1/5
had to move rooms three times. first smelt like straight urine to the point where i gagged upon entering (i’ve worked in forensic cleanup and have never gagged at a smell before), second didn’t have hot water and third as well as the rest were improperly cleaned. dirty duvet, dirty used towels still in rooms, and floor unswept. ridiculous. front desk attendant didn’t care and neither did expedia. awful, never again.
- 1/5
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!!!
- 2/5
My tv only had 4 channels available : 5,9,10 & 11. I brought it the attention of several front desk personnel and maintenance staff. I received no return communication and it was never fixed. I purposely left the remote in a particular spot and it was never touched which leads me to believe that the issue was never even looked at
- 2/5
Old property. Staff was great but rooms were old with deferred maintenance. Wont stay here again.
- 3/5
Fine for one night but probably wouldn’t stay again.
- 2/5
Not only lots of deferred maintenance but chair for the desk was so low as to be unusable; no outlets accessible from the bed; water took long minutes to become hot; huge jumble of electrical cords, only one of which was connected to anything. Dingy and dark room.
- 1/5
The water is luke warm at best, and they tell you they know its cause the boiler is old. Wouldn’t refund our money cause we had been there over 30 minutes. We were there 45 at the most. Horrible motel
- 5/5
Was clean and quiet and comfortable.
- 1/5
So many bugs in bathroom, centipedes crawling out of shower drain, and spiders under bed. Staff never cleaned room once in a four day stay. Would never stay here again.
- 5/5
Everything was fine, room was neat and clean. Just wish I was on the first floor because I had my dog
- 1/5
This was the worst hotel we've ever experienced. The lobby had a dank odor and the lobby and hall carpets were stained and dirty. There was no elevator service to the third floor. The room was dirty, bathroom had cigarette stains and molding was falling off the tub floor. The furniture was soiled and stained, saggy and at least 20 years old. Finally, on the morning we had to head to the airport, there was NO HOT WATER for showers. No excuse for such a shabby hotel experience, especially from a brand such as La Quinta
- 3/5
The hotel was an older facility. The bed was comfortable and the linens seemed clean.
- 5/5
Room was clean other than the door was dirty inside and out. Outdated fixtures in bathroom. Did not realize upon booking that it was an exterior entrance. We could hear people outside until late into the night.
- 5/5
Close to Bandimere & Red Rocks
- 3/5
Didn’t expect much and it delivered. It was just what we needed in a motel for overnight.
- 1/5
Went for 1 night with partner. Gave me a room with feces in toilet, shower/tub filthy. The actual hotel was in disrepair. Lights not working, broken toilet seat, blow dryer fell out of wall. Will not ever stay again.
- 1/5
Our hotel had no working toilet, and staff asked me how much the deposit was like they didn't know how much to charge me. Reception smelt bad, and my card key didn't work some nights.
- 1/5
Rooms were gross dirty smelled bad. found dirty cloths in room from past stay . Door saftey lock was broken . No hot water disgusting dntvstay there i lost my money there i walk out didnt stay there.
- 1/5
The room was dirty, spiders, sheets did not fit the bed, felt unsafe, elect. outlet inoperative, mold in tub, hair dryer inoperative, front door difficult locking, muddy footprints on bathroom floor, curly hair on shower walls, musty smell. Wife wanted to sleep in the car.
- 3/5
Very dirty but does the trick for the night
- 2/5
It was serviceable. To be fair, I was staying here by myself and wanted something cheap. But that doesn't mean I wanted a broken iron, ironing board, and an almost broken dead bolt. The room was clean in the areas that mattered like the bed and the bathroom, but other areas like the wall by the desk were distractingly disgusting.
- 5/5
Family travel, booked family at another hotel i should have bit the non-refundable from the other hotel and moved them to this hotel, the staff was very friendly, and caring
- 3/5
Looks good outside, room is cheap and cold, toilet is low to floor. Looks like the room you see on Police shows that they get a call too. Shower head was not high as normal , was about head high. Elevator was broke , I was on second floor with a bum knee. Don’t ask a question you don’t want to hear the answer to.
- 1/5
The sheets and comforter had blood stains on them, the room had thick visible dust and you could tell it had not been deep cleaned in a while. I asked for the linens to be cleaned as I received numerous spider bites the first night I slept there and while I think the sheets were cleaned, they reused the comforter with the blood stains on the underside.
- 2/5
Room was run down and filthy
- 3/5
Room was not cleaned during our 2-night stay. Hair dryer did not work. TV Dish service did not work. Desk staff was very helpful. Breakfast service was good.
- 2/5
very very old and dilapidated hotel.. last minute booking will never stay again better accommodations at motel 6
- 1/5
We just needed and booked at 9pm on the some day. If I had choice I would choose this hotel. Bad layout around and inside of the property, next door can peak through the window. Dirty and loud environment.
- 1/5
I was charged 500 dollars aftrr I checked out for a smoking fee. I don’t smoke tryed to tell front desk of this charge and was treated like a criminal. From staff at front desk. Don’t use this hotel they committed fraud to my credit card
- 1/5
Bugs, Mold, Inoperable Phone, Inoperable Clock, Toilet Paper roll wasn't even changed. Maybe like 3 sheets on it when I arrived.
- 3/5
Did not like mold in shower.
- 3/5
I am still waiting for the manager of the hotel to respond to my email to him requesting a refund, which should not have been charged to my credit card, since I prepaid with hotels.com. His unresponsiveness to date has put a real damper on my experience. My credit card company yesterday came through and have issued conditional credits for the two charges, but I would still appreciate a response from this manager, at least acknowledging the mistake.
- 3/5
The staff was friendly but the hotel itself had better days, its older to be polite.
- 3/5
Dont expect much. The showerhead was too low for anyone over 5ft6. There were tiny ants in the bathroom. The breakfast was ok, typical continental stuff but limited seating and they kept running out b of food.
- 1/5
On top of that the hot water is uncontrollable you are in boiling water or an Arctic waterfall absolutely uncalled for conditions for a hotel chain
- 3/5
Property was good location for us as was in close proximity to all our interests. Staff was friendly. One small thing was we were there for 3 nights and no room service. Had to go to front desk twice in order to get one set of clean towels.
- 3/5
For what it lacks in being modern or well kept it was quiet and convenient to where we needed it to be. Slept well enough and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Hard to beat for the money if the basics are all that matter
- 2/5
The sheets were clean but there was a visible blood stain (that you could also feel, eek!!!) on the mattress pad. The acrylic bathtub floor was flexing under my feet.
- 2/5
Towels with stains, walls with stains, toilet seat broken
- 2/5
Room smelled musty. Toilet did not work properly
- 3/5
Bathtub area needed replacing. Broken tiles and stained tub made it feel unclean.
- 1/5
I didn't like the odor in the rooms, stained and torn carpet, and lack of hot water in the shower.
- 3/5
One of the staff members was extremely rude to me. Demanded my room number demanded i had to wear actual shoes to get breakfast and 1
- 4/5
The hotel was clean enough limited amount of shampoo in the room. The rooms were slightly David and the faucet in the bathroom dripped all the time. It had a slight older odour in the room when we arrive, but the air ventilation air conditioner system once turned on, seemed to help.
- 3/5
Pool was closed
- 1/5
No elevator. They Bugs/ants. They do not clean or they don’t clean well.
- 1/5
there was black mold in the showers, no outlets in the rooms worked, no light (lamps were non-operational), also there was a ant infestation in the room. Staff was non helpful and honestly not friendly for my stay.
- 1/5
The hotel room was beyond dirty hair in pillow cases and a layer of dusty on almost everything in the hotel! There was only 1 outlet to charge things and it was in the bathroom the other outlet connectors weren’t working. The shower had zero hot water after running it for over an hour. The towels smelt dirty and the room smelt like cigarettes. The staff was really rude over the phone and in person. Overall this hotel was not worth 200$ for 1 night it seems like they took a motel 6 and slapped a la Quinta sign on it.
- 2/5
This is a motel. Room was old, needed paint, reasonable clean but not spotless. Tv was tiny, first floor room, exterior was in pretty bad shape.
- 4/5
Just few channels on tv
- 3/5
Wooodnt stay there again
- 5/5
Easy and staff was great
- 5/5
Very good
- 2/5
The price was cheap and so was the motel. Unfortunately our room had ants, chipping paint, and a swishy bathtub with a hole in it that was filled with caulk. The rest of the room seemed mostly clean. The breakfast was good, the location was decent, the pool looked clean but we didn’t get a chance to use it.
- 2/5
There was a huge red stain on the carpet that looked like blood. When I emailed photos to corporate they sent back a standard reply email. The room also had outlets that didn’t work and lighting fixtures that didn’t work. Again, I emailed corporate photos and they literally do not care about the presentation of their hotel. It was poor.
- 5/5
it was a decent place to stay....property in general seems to need a bit of TLC.....
- 2/5
Bedding has stains all over it and needed to be thrown away. Made me question if any of the bedding had even been changed. The dirt all over everything is unacceptable. A simple wipe with soap and water would clean it. Mystery stain in the chair. I know this is a budget hotel but a clean bed is not too much to ask.
- 3/5
This place is absolutely disgusting! From the outside graffiti on the walls and garbage around the perimeter. The carpet was stained and sticky. No shampoo or conditioner. Bedding was torn and mini fridge was shipping taped together.
- 1/5
Place needs a deep cleaning and the tv’s are to small. Mattresses are so so. Toilet barely flushed and the shower faucet barely worked.
- 2/5
Ants crawling out of the sink, disgusting, smelled, place blows
- 2/5
Room was dirty. Long black hair on side of shower and floor. Ants on bathroom floor. Staff lacking knowledge of job. Couldn’t find any paperwork found when I was leaving. Said I had already departed. Had to change rooms on arrival due to TV not working and maintenance didn’t respond within 45 minutes. Flying beetles landed on my head. Last stay at any La Quinta. Terrible hotel and service
- 1/5
Nothing worked, over priced for what you get.
- 1/5
Over the course of the last 6 weeks I’ve stayed in 4 different rooms here and each one has had something wrong with it. Leaking sink, clogged sink, no hot water, refrigerator not working. Your money is best spent somewhere else.
- 2/5
Front desk guy who checked us in was super unfriendly. We had an uncharged room that had bugs (ants and spiders) and our fridge didn’t work. We have shoulder injuries and it’s hard to carry our bags.. why have a bag cart if you can’t get it on the second floor? Fixing these simple issues could help future guests. The area around didn’t seem too bad, I’m not from the area so I can’t really judge that too much.
- 2/5
The motel was not at capacity, yet I was put on the 3rd floor with no elevator on the back side. I specifically looked for a motel with a pool, but it was closed due to maintenance. Did anyone send me an email or text indicating the pool was closed? No. Why was I not informed on arrival? Then I had to pay full price, despite not being able to use the pool. The breakfast area is very cramped. It really only allows one person to be there at a time. Two people, you're bumping into each other.
- 1/5
Not only was it in disrepair. The elevator was broken and I had to drag suitcases 3 floors up less than stable steps. The outside lighting was flickering on and off like some "B" horror film. The pool was not able to be used. The room was filthy. Something spilled on the desk that had dried and was sticky. Huge stain on the carpet in front of the door. Mold ( a lot ) in the bathroom shower. The tub finish gone and tub stained. I gave them another chance, and requested another room. Of course, nothing on 1st or 2nd floor. Another hike up rusty steps. The 2nd room was just as bad. Hole in the door. Something white had been spilled all over the desk chair, more mold in the bathroom and disgusting tub and torn carpet. If this was what I could see what was going on in that mattress? I went back down returned the key and told him again the condition of the room and that I couldn't stay in such deplorable conditions. I have pictures of all my complaints. No refund from them and now they are telling Expedia that I am not entitled to a refund. Wyndham should be ashamed to attach their name to this property and the refusal to give a refund. Due to the filth and questionable safety of this La Quinta. I understand old hotels, and don't mind old. Disrepair, unsafe, and filthy are a totally separate issue.

We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel. We did enjoy the free breakfast that the hotel offered. The interior was clean and comfortable. The exterior needs some work. Both the elevator and pool were closed as they both required repairs. The hotel's real benefit was its location. It was easy to drive into downtown Denver or go the other way into the mountains.

Felt dark, old, icky bathroom

Sheets were all stained and there were multiple holes in the wall. The lock was broken off the door and we never felt comfortable in the room. 0/10 experience

Travelocity.com lists the property as 3 stars. Its actually no star hotel. Super unsafe and dirty.

The place was cheap and did the job for our 1 night stay. The hotel is dirty and is in need of maintenance and some upgrades.

Fair price and large clean room but overall in need of a refurbishment staff was nice and friendly. Bathroom had 2 lights out of four out. Seat has lots of cigarette burns. So not the prettiest.

Old and outdated

Smelled horrible, the woman checking us in and out didn’t say a word to us she gave us a dirty room. A man was walking around and helped us get into a clean room which was nice but our room was filled with bugs. When I told them that the room was filled with bugs they said they would look into it. We have little kids and couldn’t give them a bath because the drain was broken. We will not be staying here again.

The room was ok. Years of not being cleaned properly so it is overdue to be deep cleaned. The bed was good. Noisy area

Don't book through this place I couldn't get a room and they would not refund my money thief's

The room smelled like pee. It was dirty. Asked for a refrigerator and was told you have one in the room or you dont. Asked for a different room and was told no. Beds were broken down in the middle and was in pain most of the night. Will not ever stay there again.

Not what we expected! It was like a motel 6. The shower knobs fell off. Stain on the bed. Bed was comfortable once we changed rooms.

First room we stayed had a really strong smell of urine and also had a leak in the bathroom.
- 1/5
It smelled like smoke, no hot water, no blinds so people standing outside the window at 3:00am smoking were unsettling to say the least. Securing latch was broken on the door.

I would have cancelled my room but I knew the hotel would charge me. Wish I could have spoken to a customer service agent at Hotels.com but had no luck there

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The bathroom was full of mold and dirt the floors were disgusting. I was afraid to sleep in the bed or touch anything. There were ants everywhere.

The free breakfast was disappointing; aside from waffles made in an old waffle maker, there were no other hot food options available.

In town to tour Colorado School of Mines. Hotel location was great. Hotel lobby was nice, but the hotel room was is desperate need of deep cleaning and updating. It smelled musty and like urine. We had to keep the window open to help air out the room. Toilet was constantly running, which was very annoying.

We aren't picky hotel patrons our visit to this hotel was not good. First we were put in room 123 and it was very dark and dirty. It had an adjoining door to another room in which at least 2 dogs were present and barking non-stop. The room was very dirty. We asked to be moved and were told by the front desk that if we moved we might still end up next to people with dogs. We said that we would roll the dice! The next room was on the second floor and was cleaner and no dogs were next door. But my husband laid down on one of the beds and it was wet. I'm not sure what it was was wet from - but we were sufficiently creeped out to leave and just forget staying there. Not sure if they are planning on demolishing this hotel or why they are letting it go down hill to the point it has? We stayed there of and on for many years and have never seen it in this condition. The surrounding area is very up scale - so I'm guessing they are just planning on demolishing it soon? But unless you are pretty rouge I wouldn't recommend staying there.

When I attempted to speak with the front desk gentleman to extend the stay by a night and provide an updated credit card for incidentals, he was rude and completely unaccommodating. He insisted we physically come to the hotel to present the card, with no willingness to work with us on a solution. His tone and attitude were unnecessarily difficult and unprofessional, and it ultimately made the entire experience unpleasant for both us and our tenant. We won’t be booking here again.

Dont let the hotel name fool you; this is not your average La Quinta. Clean bedding? Nope! Clean furniture? Nope! Couch that was brought in from the alley? Yup! Ripped carpet? Yup! Cigarette burns on and in the tub...you guessed it, yup! How about chewing gum stuck to the top of the lampshade? Yup! A room (suite) that looks like a mechanic rebuilt a motorcycle in there. Walls all black smudged. We were spent from 8 hours on the road so we just bought sleeping bags and flat sheets for the beds and slept for 1 night. The next morning we checked out (4 days early) because the ick-factor was just too high. Oh, and thr halls smell like weed and everywhere else smells like cigarette smoke. I've stayed in some horrible roadside motels, slept in some very Questionable hotels (blood on the ceiling), but this takes the cake for most disgusting. I have pics of everything as well. Never again La Quinta! You should be ashamed. Oh, and you can get a wonderful Hilton for $50 per night more. Thats where we spent the rest of our trip.

The shower was terrible, it is old, the sink has an odor, and the toilet didn’t flush correctly. In general, the room looks old.
- 3/5
Older property, stairs to upper floors looked dangerous. Room was remodeled but the bathroom was tiny, and the TV didn't work for normal stations, it did work for streaming. This was not worth $128 a night. More like a super 8 hotel for $60 a night. I would not recommend it, or stay here again.

Pool is out of service. This was not mentioned at the time of booking or check in. When we went to go swim we seen a padlock on the gate. Manager on site stated that the facility failed their safety inspections and could not open the pool until further notice. No offer for other accommodations or discount on stay due to the inconvenience.
