Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly, helpful staff. However, many guests express disappointment with the breakfast, which is often described as overpriced and not worth the cost. The hotel's location is also a point of contention, with some guests appreciating its proximity to Red Rocks and Golden, while others find it isolated and lacking in nearby dining options.

This property and staff make for a great place to stay in Golden, CO. The staff, beginning with the front desk, were always very helpful, along with very courteous housekeeping personnel. I only rated this Marriott as "Good" due to it being a bit dated in some need of modernization for the area.
- 3/5
The room was very clean when I got there but the room service all week was horrible.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely helpful and nice
- 5/5
Wish I could have stayed longer
- 5/5
If you’re looking for a nice place to stay after a show at Red Rocks, this is it!
- 3/5
The clerk stated the charge was added recently. Pulling up the hotel description in the Expedia app at check-in stated the charge is $7. I didn’t dispute it; the clerk at the counter was doing his job, but with other options, I won’t return.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and parking was breeze!
- 3/5
unfortunately we experienced a fire alarm malfunction issue at 730am which was very disruptive to rest. the staff offered a discount on the night stay, which was appreciated.
- 5/5
Good location for my need. Friendly staff. Good food.
- 3/5
Beds were not good. Very small and sheets kept falling off.
- 4/5
The rooms and property were clean. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking but you did need to pay $7.00 a day to park in the lot. We ordered pizza for room service it wasn't the greatest but we were hungry so it fed us. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant so I can't comment on the food or breakfast there. Hotel is close to alot of hiking trails, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Downtown Golden that has alot of shops and restaurants with live music and the sweet little town of Morrison...one of my favorites. You can take a little drive into Estes Park for some ATV riding through mountain trails or more shopping and restaurants. So the hotel is a good central spot that isn't expensive.
- 3.5/5
A bit pricey, we thought the balcony came with a hill/mountain view. The facilities in the bathroom were a bit outdated and the bathroom was very small. The hotel food/drinks were also very expensive so we only ate there one night. But I would say overall it was a decent stay here.
- 3.5/5
Enjoyed how soft the beds were and the balcony aspect of the room for the nice breeze. A bit pricey, we thought the balcony came with a hill/mountain view. The facilities in the bathroom were a bit outdated and the bathroom was very small. The hotel food/drinks were also very expensive so we only ate there one night. But I would say overall it was a decent stay here.
- 2/5
Location, style, bar & restaurant. Dated, pool didn’t look clean, general upkeep. Rooms were certainly not clean, obvious dirt in rooms.
- 5/5
Great satay
- 3/5
For an older property, it’s in decent shape. However, the beds were extremely uncomfortable in the bar closes early, but I didn’t like the fact that the conference rooms and the amenities were below on the first level so you didn’t have a lot of traffic because it was a busy hotel
- 5/5
Thank you for your attention and kindness during my stay
- 4/5
The facility is nice looking. The room and bathroom were clean and public spaces were lovely. Great parking. I would have appreciated more than one tiny bottle of water, especially as a member. But towels and bathroom amenities were good. The lobby bar was decent. Check in and out was courteous and smooth. Great location for attending a Red Rocks concert and exploring Denver. We would stay there again.
- 4/5
Could not get any service in the hotel restaurant, it seemed as though I was being ignored the first time I have never left a tip :o(
- 5/5
Pleasant staff. Clean bathroom
- 4/5
Rooms and bathrooms are very small. But the property is nice, clean and convenient for shows at Red Rocks. Free coffee in morning but breakfast is paid. Wouldn’t return due to size of rooms for the price.

The room was clean and quiet, was a very pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Nice and well maintained
- 3/5
Location Beds way too soft and airco made a lot of noise. Tap was leaking when switched to shower and towel from pool had stains on it
- 5/5
Stayed here for four nights. Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. I liked that housekeeping straightened up the room every day and provided fresh towels. The hotel was also very quiet. The only thing I was not a fan of was the scent of the toiletries. Otherwise, I would highly recommend.
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and competent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was spacious and well designed. View was of a building.

They need to update their full beds to queen beds. Very hard to sleep in the same bed with my husband.
- 5/5
Amazing breakfast!
- 5/5
Great place to stay, staff was super helpful.
- 5/5
Very clean, easy to park, friendly staffs!
- 5/5
All good, no complaints
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed
- 5/5
Bar food was decent. Had steak fritez and the meat was really chewy. Others enjoyed their burgers and salad though!
- 4/5
But we kept hearing high pitched noises coming from bathroom pipes, I assume from upstairs people using water. Could also hear talking/laughng; the rooms are not sound proof whatsoever. Pool was nice, staff was friendly. Prices for drinks were a bit pricey.
- 4/5
The Gym was decent, and breakfast was good. The location is nice. The place is well kept, and priced well.

Great bed very comfortable
- 4/5
Clean room. Nice amenities. Only complaint is that the buffet breakfast isn't worth $22 a person.
- 3/5
We’ve been staying at this hotel annually for over 30 years. Its location for travellers on route from the airport to the mountains is perfect, especially at the end of a long flight. It’s getting shabby after all these years. The introduction of parking charges was an unwelcome surprise.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Clean room, very friendly staff and decent location. A little odd they charge for parking being that they aren’t in a crowded area, but otherwise good!
- 5/5
Super nice
- 4/5
Yes the room was clean, staff was great. My only complaint was not offering free breakfast. Should have been included for the price they charge for the rooms.

Great breakfast, hot shower, comfortable bed with lots of pillows, nice pool.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff was friendly.
- 2.5/5
Too expensive, what happened to free, hard boiled eggs, and bananas? no menu
- 5/5
Didn't have breakfast. Location was the primary reason for booking. We have stayed there previously, and it suits our purposes perfectly.
- 3/5
Location was great, staff was super nice and friendly and willing to solve problems. We requested 1 room to be bottom floor on booking.com but were given a room on the top floor for that person. Another room was dirty and had a broken TV. Went to the front desk and requested a new room and they were happy to provide. Overall the hotel seemed old with lots of dents, dings and stains around the rooms and property. This is an expectation with a budget friendly hotel, but not a Marriott.
- 3/5
Outdated and not as nice as most Marriott hotels we have stayed at. Old and outdated
- 1.5/5
I asked for invoice thousand times, just no reply.
- 3/5
They still have feather pillows and many people are allergic to them as myself. So after a long day and finally getting into bed I had to call the front desk them have staff bring me some faom pillows.
- 2/5
My stay hasn’t started. So much confusion using this 3rd party. This is my first time disappointed with Orbitz.
- 5/5
House Keeping was great. Did a great job cleaning the room and bathroom.
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Clean room, we had a good time in our stay at the hotel. There’s a couple things close by for food options and shopping. Pretty convenient location.
- 3.5/5
The staff was wonderful . They need to do some updates to the rooms , it’s a bit dated .

The older gentleman who checked us in was rude and unpleasant. Not sure why he works with customers. The room was dated.

The room was lovely, Shawn
- 2/5
Outdated, front desk never answered the phone, clean, access to hiking trail behind hotel.
- 3/5
recognize trip, access perks
- 5/5
The hotel is situated in a convenient and quiet location away from shopping area and well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
I am rating this establishment 3 stars due to a notable issue with soundproofing in the rooms, as I was able to hear conversations from the next room throughout the night.
- 5/5
Older hotel, but clean and comfortable bed. Staff was kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Amazing friendly staff! Clean rooms with beautiful Mountain View’s.
- 5/5
areas. I would stay again!
- 3/5
Room was not very clesn Bed had dirty sheets and no towels in the bathroom The pool was nice
- 4/5
The exception was staff in the breakfast area. Hostess was struggling to clearly state pricing of breakfast options and what was covered with each option. Staff supporting the breakfast was impatient with customers that entered in last 30 minutes. We bypassed the hotel breakfast the next 2 days. Overall it was a pleasant experience. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
It is a hotel full of charm. We really enjoyed our time there.
- 4.5/5
It was a good property. I liked the outdoor pool area, despite the highway noise. Rooms are dated, but overall a good stay.
- 3/5
Weird smell and wallpaper sizable damage
- 5/5
This property was beautiful and well kept outside. Inside, there was some random food in the hallways from company parties, but it wasn’t anything overwhelming or repulsive. It seems this hotel services a lot of corporate events, but we never felt out of place as regular guests. The hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean.
- 5/5
Lots of parking, restaurant’s food was excellent, beds are very comfortable, and the shower pressure was great! Only con I have is the bathroom was very small but that doesn’t discourage us from staying there again. Easy to get to our concert at Red Rocks.
- 5/5
Dowtown Golden is a 12 minute ride, but worth the trip.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and the bar staff were friendly. I had dinner at the bar my second night, and the food was great.
- 3/5
Lovely grounds and convenient location. Facility is a bit dated; no usb ports in the room, very slow wi-fi, grubby carpet, poorly maintained public washrooms.
- 4/5
The stay was great. The rooms were loud. The food/bar was overpriced. Great location. Pay to park for guests is ridiculous at such a big hotel.
- 1/5
Arrived to check-in, only to be told that they had no room available, even though we had booked and paid for a non-cancelable room a month earlier. My husband has Parkinson’s and was in need of rest. Marriott used to be good but these actions are unacceptable. BEWARE BOOKING A ROOM AT A MARRIOTT if you want to rely on it!!!!
- 4/5
It’s was a very nice hotel. My room had a musty smell to it though that I had a hard time with. I’m very sensitive to smells though. So may not be an issue for most. I got a cheap air freshener at target and it made my stay great. The bed was super comfortable.
- 5/5
Clear concise and friendly staff

- 3/5
Fantastic location close to freeway & shopping. Lobby is nice but rest of the property needs updating. Rooms have old carpet & dim lights. Bathroom was small & in desperate need of a facelift. Bed was good & room service was quick.
- 3/5
I liked that it was old school nice. Very clean and the staff was great.
- 5/5
We were in town for a concert at red rocks amphitheater. I liked everything about the hotel. It had a restaurant. Free coffee and a nice outdoor pool. I picked this hotel because the rooms had balconies.
- 3/5
The room itself was old and it wasn’t the room or view I booked. However, the staff was really nice.
- 4/5
Conveniently located.
- 4/5
Can’t beat the location. SO convenient for getting Red Rocks, downtown and the airport. Property was clean and up to date. Staff very helpful Nothing
- 3/5
Our room was old and in desperate need of an update. Shower was old with grout missing, stain on comforter, furniture was worn, etc. I would not stay there again.
- 5/5
Our stay at Denver's Marriott West was for a concert at Red Rocks - and it went perfectly. The property is conveniently located to allow for easy travel to and from Golden and other nearby hot spots. Staff were welcoming and made our stay wonderful!
- 4/5
Lobby was welcoming and up to date. Rooms are older and could use remodel, although bedding was clean and pillows comfortable. Pool was relaxing and clean with lush greenery surrounding pool area.
- 3/5
However, hotel is aged and rooms show it. The bathroom door in our room was rotted and painted over on one side.
- 4/5
Besides the room view, the food was good, drinks were good but very expensive and was easy to get places. No where within walking distance to go.
- 3/5
For a quick in and out visit it gets the job done.
- 5/5
Great property and all the staff are awesome. We will keep coming back every time we go to Red Rocks or Denver.
- 4/5
Nice place and nice stay. Would come again.
- 3/5
Room tiny. The bathroom could only fit one person at a time. Literally had to move knees while on commode to shut door. Multiple joints were left on balcony. Bottom sheet to little for bed and kept coming off. Pricey for a room like this; however amenities were nice. Good restaurant both indoor and outdoor pools super clean. Great location. Only one group of elevators leading us to walk down three halls to get to our room.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 4/5
Outside of the lobby, the hotel is showing its age. Everything was very clean but the ameneties were basic at best. I booked a patio room and was hoping for something with lots of light. In reality the light was completely blocked by a huge conifer directly outside. Not a huge issue but also not what you would expect. Bathroom was clean if basic with a shower diverter that looked like it would have been at home in the 80s. There was a bottle of water in the room with a $5 price tag on it. I would have expected at least one bottle given the price of the room so i just refilled my own bottle at the fountain. I was comfortable but disappointed.
- 3/5
I tried using the house phone from the pool to call the lobby and you get a recording! The bar draft beer was out of service, ok, how about a Stella? Oh we're out of that. How about a such and such? We're out of that. Blah blah blah. Very sloppy overall operation. Nobody is running the place.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and service was great. Rooms definitely need some updating .
- 2/5
Service and staff were great. Room was nothing remotely close to a $500+ a night room I’ve stayed. Broken faucet, Broken bench. 2 star room at best.
- 5/5
Location, staff was very friendly
- 4/5
The breakfast was very overpriced and was not very good. Typically a breakfast like that is included in the room price.
- 2/5
I checked in online but when I got to the hotel they said they did not acknowledge the online check-in even though I got confirmation and the check-in process was slow and when I got to my room the key card did not work
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable, great area
- 4/5
Nice hotel.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 2/5
No microwaves in room. Breakfast buffet was not included in extremely expensive cost of the hotel for one night. Air conditioning was subpar.
- 1.5/5
Comfortable bed. Nice pools. Must join their club to use wi-fi without $15 per day fee. Impossible to log on even then. Television stations didn't line up with the station selected. No microwave in room. No hot tub on site. Way overpriced. Staff unable to help with anything. Food and beverage costs unreasonably high.
- 4/5
This property was clean, safe and conveniently located
- 3.5/5
Small bathroom. Slightly dated. No fan in bathroom.
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean and quiet. Close to Red Rocks which was the reason for the stay
- 4/5
Simple, clean. I would've liked a complimentary continental breakfast.
- 5/5
Staff , clean, Area
- 4/5
Clean & comfortable room! Staff was able to check us in early, which was so helpful! Close to everything~Including Red Rocks, Golden, etc...
- 5/5
Great stay, friendly staff.
- 5/5
We frequently stay at Marriotts. It seems that every time we go they can never find our account for our points. We’ve literally lost a ton. This was right after spending thousands there while staying for a funeral and getting many points. However, the staff is usually friendly. Kinda know what to expect, except now you never know if their listings are right on their balcony rooms unless you call. Rooms are always clean.
- 4/5
Beds were small and squishy
- 5/5
It was nicer
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
Fine place to stay.
- 5/5
Pools were great, mobile ordering and delivery from their restaurant was very convenient. Hotel staff were very friendly.
- 3/5
Ac doesnt work well
- 3/5
Our room was at the end of a wing and there is only entrance/exit at the main lobby. They have plenty of parking available and even by our room. Unfortunately we would have to walk all the way around to the front lobby to get back around. Easily a 12-13 minute walk to the car each time.
- 1/5
Our room had many issues like blood on our comforter, dead bugs in the room, wiring hanging from the walls, pimple patches left on the night stand, cigarette burns in our mattress. There was also a piece of the door that wasn't attached properly. My fiance ended up hitting her hand on this items and got hurt. She has to fill out an incident report
- 4/5
Good property, clean, and good location.
- 5/5
Excellent stay starting with early check in. Great having an indoor and outdoor pool. Staff were very pleasant. Bed and pillows were comfortable.
- 3/5
The room was dated with some minor problems we aren’t used to seeing at Marriott hotels. The tub drain was a problem. The front door cover was falling off. Towels and wash clothes were not stocked daily. The coffee maker didn’t work right.
- 5/5
Somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable... very pleasant staff.
- 3/5
The facility is in need of renovations. The room comfort was below average as the mattress was old and so soft. The sheets did not fit the mattress so came off during the night. Too few towels left initially but easily remedied.
- 5/5
Everything was great thanks
- 4/5
Everything is going great .
- 3/5
Not that great.
- 4/5
We like the area thats close to Red Rocks and Black Hawk casinos. But the prices are too high and we had to pay high price for breakfast
- 5/5
I didn’t like that I had to pay for wi-fi or sign up for Marriott’s rewards program. Great price point.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel. Close to highways easy to get around.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. Great location. Clean room and very pleasant staff.
- 3/5
It was alright overall, average hotel chain experience
- 5/5
Beautiful layout of property....convenient location for shopping etc
- 5/5
Nice room. Conveniently located near the interstate.
- 2/5
You can find a better hotel in the area for the same or a better price. This hotel is a horrible choice. I would avoid it completely until the rooms have been renovated for the 21st century. Right now, they look and feel like a 90s motel room.
- 5/5
The location is super convenient! Close to Golden and Red Rocks. We enjoyed our stay. Balcony faces parking lot, so we got a partial view of mountains.
- 5/5
One of the standout features was the patio space that my room had! —perfect for relaxing in the evenings with a drink or catching some fresh air in the morning. The rooms were comfortable and the mid size fridge was perfect! Breakfast was available and had a solid variety. I also appreciated the well-stocked convenience station, which made it easy to grab snacks or essentials without needing to leave the property. Guest services were the true highlight at this hotel—everyone I interacted with was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. Whether I needed directions, recommendations, or assistance with my room, the staff went out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience.
- 4/5
Cleanliness was an issue. Questionable stains on all the bedding. However staff was beyond friendly and helpful and the hot breakfast has always been a plus
- 5/5
Had a loved one in Intermountain Health Lutheran hospital and this location was very convenient. The staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Overall average to good.
- 3/5
Front desk staff were not helpful and not friendly. Charged me a penalty for late checkout despite the fact that they agreed to extend for a couple of hours. Locked my luggage in the room and disabled my key.
- 3/5
The property is tired and in need of a renovation
- 4/5
Room is dated with popcorn ceiling and rust on light and hinges in bathroom.
- 3/5
It was an ok property. Prolly wouldn’t stay there ever again. Rooms are very basic and small. Older property.
- 5/5
Convention was there and convenient to stay at the same place. Enjoy our stay
- 5/5
This Marriott was a lovely, though older, hotel easily accessible to I-70 corridor. The room was clean, quiet and the bed very comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showering and complimentary toiletries were appreciated. We purchased the breakfast for both mornings of our stay. The selections were abundant, promptly restocked and delicious. The hostesses were very friendly and ensured tables were quickly wiped down after customers left. We had a lovely stay and would book again.
- 4/5
No free breakfast and no free wifi, unless you become a Envoy member. Otherwise, nice hotel 30 minutes from airport.
- 4/5
A slower paced property that is relaxing
- 5/5
If you want to be treated like you are loved and matter, this hotel is where you should stay. Every single staff member from the time I walked through the door to the time I checked-out, everyone was extremely kind! Not to mention that amenities are outstanding! The pool area and the workout area was kept nice and clean, the bar inside the main lobby was excellent and cleaned, the bathrooms are kept clean with an exceptional custodian where she even came back to check on the bathroom toiletries were always stocked throughout the entire day! Even the food was amazing and when you stay, you need to taste their chocolate cake for dessert! 5+ Stars!!!!
- 4/5
Convenient location, great property, with great staff.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service, very helpful to us for our very late checkin
- 1/5
We cancelled our stay.
- 2/5
Crap Marriott and I’ve seen a lot. Great staff
- 5/5
To stay there
- 5/5
Breakfast is well worth it. Buy it with your room for convenience and a better rate. .
- 4/5
It is a good place to sleep but lacks gastronomic offer. They must improve the friendliness and customer service. In the rooms must place safe boxes and update furniture and lingerie.
- 3/5
The bed was not good! After a while it felt like my back was sinking. The outlets on the bed lamp had sockets that left the plug too loose and phone would not charge. Had a small fridge and coffee maker, but not microwave. Occasionally I like to smoke cigars but you are not allowed to smoke anything in the balcony nor near the building. The staff was great, specially the Italian descent lady running the restaurant/bar. The lobby has good appearance as well as the building from the outside
- 4/5
Room was a bit worn but very clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was outstanding and staff very pleasant and friendly.
- 5/5
The food prices were high. Canteen prices were also very high.
- 1/5
Awful
- 5/5
Their service is great, the rooms are clean and the amenities are great. I genuinely enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Very comfortable hotel with a nice bar and lobby. We have stayed here before but this time we were on the side close to i70 and there is a lot of traffic noise.
- 5/5
This is a very nice place. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the restaurant. Quiet. Would stay here again.
- 3/5
Nothing around.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, very friendly staff & comfortable night sleep
- 5/5
What you'd expect from a hotel, except the expensive breakfast buffet.
- 5/5
The staff at check in were great. The food in the bar is really good. Rooms are cozy but could use an update. Nice hotel. I’ll stay here again.
- 5/5
Desk clerk was great (David)
