The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfortable!!! Location!!!!! Right in the middle of beautiful downtown, Greenville!! We walked everywhere and felt completely safe!! Beautiful, historic building in a fun, vibrant city!

Great hotel. Absolutely beautiful. Front desk service was excellent. The concierge very unpleasant. That’s the only down side of the place. Restaurants was great, and it’s close to everything. Rooms was very clean.

The rooms vary- from small to large and from absolutely no view to fantastic views but no matter which room you stay in, it’s nicely appointed. It is a very old building so the bathrooms are small- Love the whole experience- I definitely recommend!!

Exceptional experience

The hotel has an understated elegance - historical, lovely, but not stuffy or “over the top.” We stayed in a junior suite which was generously sized and had a very comfortable sofa and arm chair. One of the things we enjoyed most was the piano music every evening at 5:30, except for Sundays. Very comfortable lounge seating and the option of food with your drinks. Hotel is perfectly located in the middle of town with easy access to the river walk and restaurants.

The front desk lady was very kind when I was asking questions about my booking! She was thorough and detailed and didn’t rush when explaining things to me. I appreciated her patience! The room was clean and my view was nice too!

The Westin is fabulous for a getaway! It’s so beautiful and the staff is wonderful! The beds are super comfortable- much more than other downtown Greenville hotels. Rooms are spacious and well stocked.

Very small bar. We were charged $25 for valet after we moved our car to self park. I called a few days later was transferred to finance. Left a message and no call back. Poor service.

Everything was great with Westin reservation were booked a day later than was supposed to be but they fixed it

We knew the man who was brought in to make this a 4 star hotel yrs ago. He would be appalled at the decline. It is currently an overpriced 2 1/2 -3 star hotel based upon our comparison experiences around the country in other hotels. Dirty carpets and gunky tile in public areas. Moldy shower, cracked tile, brick wall view, and chipped woodwork in the room. We expected better for $340/night. Check-in staff on 12/31/25 were great. In fact all staff were super nice except for short haired older lady who seemed to have the job of walking around annoying people. She was rude to us as we walked by her for check in and then again hours later when we were standing at the 2nd floor (empty) visiting area rail overlooking a very crowded bar area that lacked proper seating accommodations. She actually walked up and said “You need to move along”… what??? Why??? Very odd individual. I don’t recall ever encountering such a strangely rude employee in any hotel anywhere before. There were 4 of us and the other three were even more offended than me by her behavior. There are much better choices in downtown Greenville. Skip this one.

We visited Greenville for a wedding and our stay at the Westin was perfect!

The hotel itself is stunning—historic charm blended perfectly with modern comfort—but it was the hospitality that stood out most. My mom kept saying over and over how special she felt, and that’s a gift I’ll always be grateful for. The Westin Poinsett team turned what could have been just another birthday into a cherished memory she’ll never forget. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough, not just for the beautiful property but for the people who make it exceptional.

We would not stay here again. The location is nice, but downtown Greenville is so tiny, ALL the hotels are in great locations. For the price we paid, the rooms were like a rundown apartment. Smelly, old, you can hear your neighbors, bathrooms small, no lighting in the tub/shower one sink. Bad coffee in the rooms and the you could not raise or lower the thermostat to your preference bc it was capped out. Very disappointing for a Westin property and again, was not cheap. The beds were okay but the pillows were cotton and horrible.

This was the fastest check-in i have ever done. It took maybe 2 minutes. Extremely friendly staff. Bellman was extremely friendly, nice, and fast. Dropped off car and checked in and in room maybe 5 minutes.

Great hotel!! Only thing was that the tapas bar was closed all night for a private party and we booked this hotel so that we could eat dinner there and enjoy the view. Didn’t find out it was booked until we trued to enter the restaurant.

Great location and property. In the middle of downtown and lots to do. Eat at Jones oyster bar if you like this type of food. The staff here was excellent and the beds sleep great. I'd will stay here again!

My wife and I had never visited Greenville. I chose The Westin hotel since it was so central to the town and its amenities. The staff and the facility more than met our needs.

Spacious room in an historic hotel. We found a good price for this room, hard to do because it is arguably the best located hotel in Greenville. The room had a view of the roof, but we didn’t mind, and it was clean and a nice size with a comfy bed. Easy to unload with wonderful bellhops at the front door that will take your bags right up to the room. If you don’t want to valet park, there is a less expensive self-park garage behind the building, that will allow in and our privileges. Nice stay! Thank you!

This hotel is right in the heart of everything. Hotel rooms are nice with comfy pillows and mattresses. I would say the hotel in general needs an uplift...new carpets, paint etc. Overall a good experience.

My husband and I took our two kids that were 3 and 4 for Labor Day weekend. Everyone there was accommodating and friendly.

Staff were excellent, room was excellent, service and food was excellent. First staff person connected with when I called in to make a request before checking in was Emily. She was superb and offered excellent customer service. Would stay here again!

We were treated with the utmost kindness. The room was comfortable but there was a horrible musty smell in the corner. We informed the staff during checkout. We would return to the Westin. We loved our first visit to Greenville SC.

did not understand why there was an exercise bike and ball in the middle of the room. weird. would have preferred a couch to sit on and read a book instead of being forced to look at an exercise bike that i had no intention of using. thanks for asking. and they said at reservation that they were at capacity so i couldn't move to another room. thanks for the experience. probably won't be back.

Staying in downtown Greenville is a treat and staying at the Westin is the cherry on top. We were only there for one night but really enjoyed having drinking in the bar with piano player before we headed out for dinner.

$480 for one night in Greenville, SC? This is an extremely overpriced hotel. There were 2 weddings and it was noisy and crowded. The hotel is tired, the rooms are fair at best. I have stayed at better hotels for far less than this. A complete rip-off!

Everyone was so polite and friendly.

The historic hotel was lovely and so was the staff. Unfortunately, our fellow travelers were not. Room doors slammed shut throughout the night and woke us up. The buffet breakfast was very basic. We should have gone to a local restaurant instead.

Perfect location for a nice weekend in Greenville. Would definitely return. Despite being virtually sold out, hotel was very quiet. A nice surprise was Spoonbread restaurant. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast there. I had the salmon, poached eggs and salad and it the fish was cooked perfectly, seasoned well. Hotel location was central to and walkable to the best of downtown Greenville.

We could WALK to fabulous restaurants, the Falls trail, the Zoo, and the Bon Secours Arena to see our favorite artists. We never used our car for 3 days! Loved that! Safe area and beautiful as well! Beautiful historic property kept in impeccable condition.
