    it really was an awful mess. The pool was out of service and no intention to get it going again right away. The lobby restrooms weren't in service, there was a police officer sitting right below the sign (they stated he was there for safety)

    The owners really need to invest in some basic updates for this property. I feel bad for the staff who have to manage constant issues and complaints. I am including pictures of broken TV, leaking toilet, bath towels provided, and cracks/debris falling from ceiling.

    Toilets and bathrooms very dirty, fresh linens, but obviously not the toilet or bathroom. Smelled like weed and mold. Horrible. Desk manager wonderful, very helpful, but this cause me a necessary stress relocating.

    The air conditioner/heating unit was broken, which I didn’t realize until I woke up, sweating in the middle of the night. I told the front desk clerk, but she didn’t seem to really care that much. Breakfast was awful, very meager offerings. There was a dirty washcloth in my shower when I arrived and the trashcan right outside of my room was overflowing and disgusting. The room was fairly clean otherwise and the bed was comfortable and the night clerk who checked me in was really wonderful. She was very friendly and helpful. Also no lotion or conditioner and I’m not sure what was happening with the shampoo, but it was very watery and a strange color.

    Extremely disappointing - the towels were so dirty they were completely unusable - completely browned with filth from the vent above them, and had mouse poop on them. The fridge hadn’t been plugged in for a long time - was moldy, smelled terrible, and didn’t work - had to throw our food we brought away. No tv due to no remote. Holes in the main window curtain. The lamp shades were filthy and damaged. Expedia offered me a $25 refund and the hotel manager won’t take the call to resolve it on their end. I paid over $80 for the room - I wasn’t expecting a Hilton for this price, but this was beyond terrible. We left after 6 hours - if I hadn’t arrived at 2am after a full day of driving with two small kids by myself, we wouldn’t have stayed. Luckily the sheets were the only clean part of the room, so we took a nap and then got out of there. For reference, the lobby seemed fine, so I wasn’t expecting a bad experience. But the guy checking me in did say “the manager assigned the rooms - hopefully it’s ok, because people keep complaining about things not working, but this so our last room available, so…” We were in the back building, second floor.

    Not sure about this place we booked it with only a few room left and when we got to the property there was not a single car there. The property was so run down and dirty looking. Did not even check in just decided to take the money lose and went and stayed at a different place with was much better for about the same price. Would not recommend this to anyone

    Have to call to get staff to come in to do check in. Was given key to a room and it was occupied when we unlocked door, given new key for new room, did not work, after 3 attempts staff opened it with master key and never got a key to our room. Room was filthy, bed blanket had burn holes all over, bathroom wall had a hole stuffed with toilet paper, sink was grimy.

    The first room had no working lights. Tv had no signal l. The door wouldn’t close because the security latch was broken hanging down. I went to the desk and asked for another room. They sent me to room 223. The lights worked. There was no TV. I was too tired to argue about that so I went to sleep. I checked out the next day and they accuse me of stealing their TV. I’m sorry folks it was in need of TLC

    Staff was nice. I wouldn’t call it a “hotel” more like a motel. Coach roaches, dirty, smelly, loud people all night long, we booked a smoking room no ashtrays because ppl stole all of them, no ice machine and in the ghetto. We are on our honeymoon we will never stay there again.

    The first room we moved to didnt have lights working. The staff was helpful to move us to another room. The blankets were dirty, lights were flickering, our food got stuck in the microwave which had to be broken to get the food out. Hand soap bars kept in the room were more than 1 year expired! It was a terrible experience!

    The room was dirty, smelled bad, and clearly not properly cleaned. Stained carpet, uncomfortable bed, loud AC, thin walls, and a bathroom that felt unhygienic. Sleeping here was not relaxing. This isn’t a budget hotel — it’s just neglected. If you’re on I-95, keep driving. I wouldn’t stay here again.

    When I arrived in my room, I immediately noticed how dated and unclean everything looked. I called to double check my room was cleaned and was assured that it was done the day before, but everything was stained or rusted. I was offered a deep clean of the room the next day, but not that night as housekeeping was understandably gone for the day. All of the sheets including the comforter, every single towel, anything that was “washable“ had stains. I had to ask for another set of sheets and towels, and the new ones I got were also stained the same manner. It makes it difficult to see if something is truly clean or not. After receiving the “clean“ stained sheets, I decided to get through my 2-night trip without the follow up deep clean. There was no Mattress protector on the boxspring - but the mattress was very comfortable. Also, the body soap was expired by over a year and a half, and there was little to no water pressure in the shower. Another note - there was always a police officer in the parking lot, which made me a little anxious about safety. On my first night there, a man was yelling and walking up and down the property. I feel bad leaving this review because of the kind owner - but I was disappointed

    When I walked into the lobby to deal with this issue, it seemed as though I had inadvertently interrupted a sleepy front desk clerk taking a nap under a blanket on a chair in the lobby. It took roughly 2 hours, and a lot of back and forth, but when the cleaning lady admitted to having thrown away my perfectly good toiletry items, they reluctantly sent me $20 to replace my personal items, (although the value of what had been taken was much greater.) This inconvenience left me stressed out as a single mom and completely financially strapped for the remainder of my trip.

    The staff was completely rude upon check in. The staff member stated that they don’t rent rooms to people who live within 60miles. I have never heard of that in my life. The staff member had the worst attitude and basically offered no customer service. If I could give this zero stars due to the treatment upon check in I would. They were trying to not to do the check in process and send away with no room. This is definitely not somewhere to stay.

    Most of the staff was great! They had me place all of my belongings outside because I did not pay immediately at 11 am. My electronics got stolen. The maintenance man told me to “Get the fuck off the property before he got me arrested” I think that was majorly abusive and out of line.

    I ask for two things when going to a hotel, an inexpensive stay which I received with clean rooms and bed sheets…..that not so much on the first room. Walk into the first room and found a box of day old pizza and DIRTY sheets. I probably would have let it go and f the bed was clean. The second room at least the sheets looked clean. Oh, and no TV remote. Life is hard.

    Dissapointed with the breakfast as your breakfast photo of the breakfast was deceiving and your description inaccurate. On hotels.com showed sausages, waffles etc and stated cooked to order as well. Yhe breakfast was the reg with waffles, scrambled eggs but no meats like bacon or sausages offered.     It was absolutely horrendous not only is it falling apart and smells, but there is no air movement at all as the air conditioner, kept flipping the GFCI, the room smelled like mold, cigarettes marijuana. The sheets were dirty and stained. There was no door to the bathroom. Everything was falling apart the chair was covered in mold. There were still remnants of poop from the previous guest. Police were all over the property.

    Location Bathroom was dirty. Spent time and money cleaning it before I could shower. Hair in the shower and along the bottom rim of toilet. Playing peeling in all areas of the room. There was no phone or remote for the TV. And there was a smell that I couldn’t identify. The tv ended up being replaced and had to use two remotes to work the tv. NOT AT ALL ENJOYABLE OR COMFORTING.

    Sheet on one bed had hair in it. Bath tub had hair in it. Ceiling in one area was coming down, mold in bathroom, replaced towel bar with globs of material that was orange and stuck out 2-3 inches around the bar, and tv had to be moved to get it plug in. Floor was ok, curtain was nice, air conditioner worked well, low lights worked ok, one light did not work at all, breakfast was very minimal.

    I’m not gonna lie I read reviews and was skeptical but to my surprise the staff was extremely pleasant, great price for the stay, clean hotel, no bugs and hot breakfast. Can’t beat this place and the staff! I travel a lot for work so finding GOOD cheap hotels is a challenge but this one is a hidden gem.

    Nothing Old, musty, rooms in desperate need of renovations. Had to go to a different room because our door would not lock. Only 1 light bulb worked in the room. No wifi or tv. Said a storm knocked it out? Bedding was very worn. I'm surprised that in order to keep the Econo lodge name a certain set of minimum standards must be kept. Room had no towels and we just left and didn't stay and booked elsewhere. The clerk at the desk was the nicest thing about the place.

    On top of all that, we were locked out of our paid room, with our dogs and all our belongings stuck inside. There was no front desk staff available, only a useless virtual kiosk agent who claimed we didn’t have a reservation — after we had already checked in and paid. This didn’t get solved until about 2 hours later which was terribly inconvenient as we had somewhere to be.

    Room outlets didn't half work, They say they have smart tv - the do not. Ref would not cool or freeze, House keeping did not clean very well. The pool is dirty and needs bad maintenance.Lamps in the rooms didn't work the way they should. Bathrooms lobby didn't work and was shut down. Blankets on the beds had holes from where someone was smoking weed.

    First room floors was filthy part of ceiling hade came down was queen bed not king as I had ordered asked for a different room was given a room with king bed . Room was cleaner a lot of rust on lamps missing one lamp. They had to find a remote to get the TV working air conditioner was noisy and to small for the room . Would never stay there again and will tell everyone I know to avoid it.

    Passing through to our vacation house. Once we had gotten to the hotel it seemed clean. Once we got to our rooms TV didn’t work, had no water for a long period of , but not fault of Econo Lodge. The two other rooms that had been booked, one had no tv and phone the other room didn’t have a phone and tv did not work. Although most everything was remedied the room were not set up no where the same, two table instead of a dresser and so on.

    The lady at the front desk was so wonderful. The property was run down and I found 2 small roaches while I was there. Breakfast was free but not great. Popcorn and cookies at 6pm was fun and the price was unbeatable. I had to stay 2 1/2 weeks until my place on the island was ready.

    First when we arrived my husband needed the bathroom but lady at front desk said it was not working, she said she forgit to put a sign up. When we enter room AC not working, toilet paper holder hanging from wall, fire alarm had no cover and no battery , chair had lot of dust stuck to it, lamps corroded, bathroom door dirty and wood peeling. Waited around 45 minutes to have AC replaced, the one they brought was SUPER DIRTY and the man did not clean it. Overall terrible! The only reason we stayed was because we spent all day driving and were tired but room was not worth $90. Do not recommend this hotel.

    I had a 4 day business trip and choose to stay at the Econo lodge in hardeeville. Upon arrival, my room was dirty, ac was not cooling and the tv remotes were not functioning. I requested a new room but maintenance was dispatched to address the ac and tv. The next morning I spoke with Brenda who got me a different room for the remainder of my stay. That room was much better and I appreciated her service. The rest of the staff was also very friendly. The owners clearly do not spend much on maintaining the property. The buffet breakfast was lacking.

    Great location and price. Easy to check in. Too many people smoking close to the rooms so the smoke would come into the rooms. So there has to be a designated area to smoke

    I reserved 2 rooms but the hotel said they only saw 1 in my reservation. There was hair in the shower on the walls and tub. There was not a security lock on the door.

    Checked in late shortly after midnight and was exhausted. The front desk personnel seemed to be way too into his personal phone conversation than his job. Check in was extremely slow and gave bad directions to where the room was located. Room was a smoking room even though Expedia says I booked nonsmoking. According to the front desk it was the only remaining room left which was obviously not true since several rooms were observed empty on my search for this room. Unless someone was scheduled to show up the following morning before check out I think there were several better looking rooms and definitely in better locations. I’m not sure if the Expedia rooms are the worst these properties have to offer but I have been in inexpensive rooms better kept than this one. Room wasn’t unbearable with smoke smell but it being evident that it was a smoking room. Given the experience I probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless absolutely desperate for availability which seems to be the bulk of why most people settle to stay here.

    Arrived after dark, sheets were not cleaned,entire second floor was closed do to renovation, bare floor, moldy smell, arrived at 8:30 for breakfast a 1/2 scoop of cold eggs and some potatoes were all there was , asked employee if there would be any more, she didn’t speak English and just walked away. Coffee was lukewarm no bacon or sausage. Never will return.

    I picked this hotel over another because it had good reviews about the cleanliness. That was NOT our experience. The room was NOTHING like the online photos. The floor was unswept, the sink was spray painted and scratched and covered in drips of new wall paint. There were bugs in the room that no doubt came through multiple holes in the wall. The toilet was covered in white dusty film. The second floor was deemed “unsafe” and metal bars and a disk hanging from the lan line were barriers to us walking the outdoor corridor. When we talked to the front desk about it, we were told there was nothing they could do and we should contact corporate. I emailed them immediately and have received no response. This is my worst experience after booking through Hotels.com. We were misled by the online photos - those show rooms completed in the reno and/or stock photos. The good: while breakfast was slim, the staff was kind and replenished well, and the beds were clean-ish and comfortable.

    Looking for a cheap place to sleep and shower for few hours while traveling. Staff was courteous and friendly, that’s the only positive thing I can say about the place. This place is really run down. Damages on the ceiling, floor planks uneven in few areas, very dirty at every part of the room, sheets has stains, every towel has hair on it, tv remote sticky, bunch of hair in the tub, the window curtain does not cover all the way so people can see you when they walk pass the room, breakfast was a joke. I understand the words you get what you pay for but the least this place can do is have clean towels and sheets. I regret staying here.

    We booked non smoking. Requested ground floor. Received smoking room. Request to move ended up in another smoking room. Ashtrays in the room. Phone, tv, lamp broken or not working. Had to step over construction debris and equipment to get to room. Pool was green and smelly outside our door. I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a poorly maintained hotel. And the sign advertised newly remodeled rooms. Never again. Would actually like my money back.

    The room I booked was “non smoking” as soon as I opened the room, it reeked of tobacco and the bed was unmade. I went back to the lobby to get a different room and i didn’t even get an “i’m sorry” or anything. The receptionist just took the key, made a phone call and didn’t say anything to me. I had to ask if I was getting a new room and she just said nodded. The new room smelled weird and the bathroom did not look clean.

    Technology is technology so I get it but its a hollow experience. I get my card and info, and go to the room. I check the wifi info and the pass is 6 letters. I have a feeling it likely wont work, try to long onto the only wifi available and it wants a 10 digit number. I then go to the kiosk and ask about the wifi as I dont see one and cant log in with the password to the Aavgo 2.4 (the kioski wifi most likely). I ask and then get notified along the lines of, 'Sorry I didnt mention it but (hard to understand), the network is being worked on and it'll be just a couple minutes.' I pretty much IMMEDIATELY can tell Im being lied to. So then Im back in my room and give it maybe 30 minutes and still NOTHING. This was the first time in a bit Ive had down time to work on things and I was looking forward to doing so. NOPE. Go to a starbucks for about 2 hours to wait and come back later in the evening. I come back. Nothing. By now Im NOT happy. I then ask the kiosk whats going on, and get the same thing thats i being worked on. Im then annoyed cause this is VASTLY inconvenient, and Ive traveled for months and this is the first time Ive EVER seen a wifi be down like this. Go somewhere else, pay more for ACTUAL wifi. BAD experience. Want refund/$ back.

    Upon arrival, I noticed signs posted by the fire marshal warning that the second floor and balcony were unsafe to enter or occupy. This was alarming. I was assigned a first-floor room, but when I entered, nothing was plugged in—not the lights, the air conditioning, or any appliances. The security lock on the door was ripped off, leaving me feeling unsafe. When I pulled back the sheets, I found hair in the bed. I immediately went to the front desk to request a new room since refunds weren’t allowed. While I was getting a new key, the staff member mentioned to a nearby officer that the hair was from housekeeping and blamed the issue on her not wearing a hair net, as she does all the washing herself. There was no apology for the state of the room. The second room was only marginally better. Appliances were plugged in, but the flooring was uneven and popped up when stepped on. There was also some pink, melted substance on the desk that hadn’t been cleaned. I went to bed hoping the experience would improve, but it only got worse. In the morning, I realized there was no smoke detector in the room—it had been ripped off the wall. When I unplugged my phone from the nightstand, a cockroach scurried out from behind my pillow. To make matters worse, I later found another cockroach in my suitcase. This stay was an absolute nightmare.

    Cons: found a huge cockroach in our room when we came in. Bathtub was slippery. TV did not work. There were only two towels and 4 small pillows for our family of 4. There were signs all around outside about the structure being unsafe and areas roped off. Night clerk was friendly but rather unprofessional. Breakfast had potential but was unattended so they ran out of the hot entree, milk, and plates way ahead of the end of breakfast and there was no one at the front desk to ask for assistance. The syrup for the waffles was in a dispenser that seems to be in desperate need of cleaning because it was very clogged. Honestly if it hadn’t been on the later side when we got there and the fact that just ahead of me in line was a couple demanding a refund and to leave (and were told the clerk couldn’t do that, they would have to call back another day, and refund wouldn’t be processed and returned for at least 7 days - and we did not have the funds for another place to stay) we would have left if we could afford to do so.

    The good thing was the staff who were all polite and friendly. At least 2 outlets in the room didn't work, TV remote only worked if you held it 6 inches from the TV in one position, bathroom door wouldn't close, mold in bathroom, holes (looked like cigarette burns) in blanket, missing lightbulbs. Breakfast was good and price was certainly reasonable and location was convenient. Some basic maintainance would make a huge difference in this place.

    I don’t know about the Oder rooms, but the #147 was really filthy. No towels. There was some soap and papers all over the floor from the guest before us. No door for the restrooms. The second floor was also close because it was unsafe. Floors, wall, tv, everything was really dirt. Never again!!!

    I was looking forward to a decent breakfast before I took off. They said it was between 6 and 9 am. I waited from 6:30 till 8 am. About 7:00 the lady started to carry things out one at a time very slowly. At 8 THERE WERE STILL NO PLATES, SILVERWARE milk or any other food. my room was only half way clean.

    The property feels very run down. The room had an odor, debris on the floor and a heating/ac system that was full of black mold and looks like a fire hazard. Add in the mysterious pigeon sounds so night and you've got a place I would never recommend.

    Just checked in. Within 30 minutes of that, loud neighboring room with pass through door echoing noise already audible. And no working TV. Spoke to front desk, Mary, about the TV. She did what she could but there was no resolution to be had, including involving the on-call maintenance person. Mary did say she would submit the issue for the incoming manager in hopes that my stay would be discounted. Praying I can get some sleep through the night. Already regretting choice.

    I recommend this property. The price is affordable. Location excellent. Surrounding area has what you need food & supplies. Mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker. Complementary breakfast is available. Lobby & breakfast areas very clean. Bathroom in room was not very clean. Housekeeping needs more training. I would stay at this property again

    Arrived at midnight w reservation. Check-in was by zoom call/avvgo machine from remote location. Machine processes keys. Guy before me got 1 key for 2 rooms, key didn't work. Remote agent had to call onsite employee to wake up, get dressed, let all of us into rooms. I got to room around 12:30, never got key. No power to TV or microwave. Few outlets worked. Wanted to call front desk - room phone didn't work. And the best? Signs posted saying UNSAFE - Not Safe for Habitation. 1 at entrance to lobby, seversl on upper level rooms. Saw some room lights on up there.

    The adjacent room apparently had someone who possibly lives at hotel as they had dragged patio furniture from pool and sat basically outside of my non smoking room smoking cigs which is fine but it was coming through air conditioner vents into room and then had about 4 people hanging outside room at 1am partying and talking loud. I want a refund!!!
