Reviews
The hotel has a mixed reputation with guests. While some appreciate its cleanliness, quietness, and convenient location, others have had terrible experiences with unfriendly staff, dirty rooms, and safety concerns.

The housekeepers were very loud during sleeping hours though.

The staff gave us keys to a room that already had people currently staying in there, we then switched rooms. But it’s very concerning if this is common practice and is worrying if they have other people access to your room card. You don’t know if they might steal your stuff or will be honest. Parking was a nightmare. The is not included and you have to pay extra when you check in, and will not tell you that it’s full, they also did not refund us for the parking or offer any help. We were forced to park 2 blocks down the street and pay for additional parking. We only stayed one so it was manageable. I couldn’t imagine staying more than one night.

Muy buena atención bien ubicados e igirnicos

I wouldn't recommend it at all; plus, when I made my reservation online, it stated that parking was included, yet at the establishment itself, they charged me for parking again.

Very nice hotel front desk staff. Property is well maintained compared to all the other hollywood hotels. We would come back again.

I travel to Hollywood quite often and always stay at the Legend. It’s like my home away from home.

Really loved the clean spacious room. Staff was very helpful and understanding of our situation. I would definitely stay there again. A little quieter than most of the Sunset/hollywood hotels.
- 1/5
The electronic key never worked. I had to go to office to each time to get my room door open. The bed was the worst. No parking.
- 5/5
Yes good
- 1/5
Worse experience I’ve had at a hotel took my money for having company next morning like never said no guests
- 3/5
Bare bones accommodation and good walking distance to TCM Film Festival is what I needed and the motel did deliver. I was only in the room to sleep between 11 PM and 8 AM. The maid service was not very good and the bathtub/shower faucet needs replacing. I didn’t expect much so I was not disappointed. If the price is right I would stay here again.
- 1/5
The ad states multiple times they self parking is included in each room. I went to check in and was told by management that they ran out of parking spaces and I would need to park on the street in multiple areas due to time limits.. in Hollywood on a Friday night. I expressed my frustrations and how uncomfortable I was with not having my car next to my room. The manager was extremely rude and would not cancel my reservation. I showed him the listing on Hotels.com and he still argued that I don’t have a parking spot and would not refund me. Do not book here and I made a compliant with Hotels.com as that is false advertising and terrible customer service!

Good stay good clean good staff. Good parking

Place was dirty. Tubs were pretty gross. Mildew and mold all in that tub.
- 2/5
Disappointing
- 1/5
There is no free parking and you cannot take no more than one card in the property per room. They don’t tell you that in the advertisement online so it’s fake advertisement so expect to pay for parking and there is no extra parking.
- 1/5
The room was not clean and didn’t feel good in it. Sadly, I’m not going back there. I’m disappointed.

Great location walking distance to Hollywood. Staff made sure my package was safe and helped with everything I requested.
- 2/5
The room was not in the best condition. The sink faucet was literally wobbling. The hotel has potential, just needs a view upgrades
- 5/5
Quite good parking .
- 4/5
We stayed here with our teenage kids and they loved the aesthetic of the hotel. The murals in the parking lot are very eye catching. The rooms were not super fancy but everything was nice. Great price point too. One thing I love=the window shutters. They create the perfect pitch black sleeping experience. One thing I didn’t enjoy = tiny shower head that you cannot change the angle of. I’ve stayed here twice and would definitely stay again!

- 1.5/5
The location was the only positive about the hotel. Room was dirty. Sheets were stained. Multiple outlets had no power. Bathroom was very dirty, no one in our party chose to shower because of it.
- 2/5
Hot water, comfortable beds, working AC Stained sheets and towels, unusable wifi, loud appliances and surroundings.
- 4/5
Great budget hotel, close to Hollywood Blvd. Good parking at reasonable price. Bed and pillows good, room was clean. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Very good
- 1.5/5
Beds where awful, we found a dirty towel, the room smell like weed and the worst was the front guy
- 3/5
The room could have been cleaner overall, and the blankets were dirty when we arrived. However, it’s not a bad place if you just need somewhere to sleep. The staff who helped us during check-in and check-out were extremely kind and helpful. One area that could use improvement is cleanliness—such as moving furniture to remove dust from under the TV stand and bed frame, wiping down the walls, and ensuring that all blankets are properly washed before guests arrive.
- 5/5
Hollywood. Peace!
- 3/5
Place was cool for the price but they do have a cockroach problem… seen 2 in one night.
- 3/5
Older gentleman at the desk was very rude. I checked in around 7pm. Definitely not a good check in experience. Other than that, the room was ok. It was clean. No hot water to shower. Felt more like a motel than a hotel. The AC/heater worked. The blankets 👀… I just ended up bringing my own and used that.
- 1/5
There was a man in a hoody lurking in the parking lot that approached my vehicle with my fiamce and stepson in it. He saw me watching and stepped away and then followed us out of the hotel parking lot on foot, guy at front desk was oblivious and police had to escort us out
- 4/5
Convenient location
- 4/5
Comfortable bed and close to where I needed to be.
- 4/5
Excellent location. Easy walk to Hollywood Blvd. Room was comfortable enough.
- 5/5
It was safe and staff was accommodating.
- 1/5
We checked in, dropped off our belongings and headed out. When we got back a couple hours later, we went back to our room and there was a roach crawling across the floor. In a panic, we gathered our belongings and put them in the car, as we did not want to take any bugs back home with us. I then went to the office and requested a refund and to check out, as I was not going to stay where there were roaches. Instead, I was told I could not get a refund and that they would move me to a different room. I returned my key and left anyway. While my biggest complaint was the roach, the room itself was not in the best of shape and could have been more clean. I stayed at this same place 2 years prior and it was fine so I was expecting the same experience. Unfortunately, it was not. I was able to get 1/2 of my room refunded from Expedia but am still out over $250 and not very happy. I would NOT recommend this place.
- 2/5
We actually decided to leave after 1 night (having booked for 2). The hotel is noisy and the rooms could do with freshening up....if youre after a cheap getaway for a night, its ok. Although i would say its more of a motel than a hotel....one plus point is the murals in the car park, a very talented artist!
- 3/5
Hotel floors looked dirty, as if the haven’t been cleaned in a while. Door insulation was pretty bad light was shining in the room from the door as well as 2 cockroaches had came into the room because of it
- 2/5
Works if you're on a budget and don't have high expectations. However, one of the front desk employees was rude and unprofessional. I asked for a receipt at checkout and from the start of conversation the man dragged his feet. He did not provide an itemized receipt, because from what I had to figure out myself, my payment was to Expedia directly. But the guy could never explain why, and instead he repeated over an over again, if I'm lying ask your bank. (among other unprofessional comments) He spoke in broken english with a heavy accent, which I normaly don't mind. But the man had the nerve to say something like, do you not understand english? All this with a heavy pakistani/indian/ect accent or whatever his background is. Something that could've been easily and quickly been explained turned into an unnecessary and aggresive back and forth. Left with a bad impression of the place because of that man.
- 5/5
Good place
- 1/5
You’re on your own here. I needed a plunger, you know the emergency. I was told to use the imaginary plunger in my room. I explained the situation, as I wasn’t finished with what I started. I was told “sorry, I can’t leave my position”. Needless to say, it did not end well for the unfortunate maids. I will add, after 30 minutes, a tiny, very well used looking plunger did finally arrive, but by then it was too late. My work was done. I checked out. Will not be back here ever again.
- 3/5
alright
- 1/5
The Indian man was very rude and in a bad mood. You can only interact with him through a hole in the glass; you can’t walk in the office. The motel is unkempt and unclean, and there are flies in the room.
- 1/5
Theres no parking. It was noisy all night. The upstairs neighbors were loud and it sounded as if they were going to come crashing through the ceiling. The shower was literally HOT or COLD... not warm. The AC unit in the room sounded like itbwas going to explode and was making rhis awful screeching noise. Dont waste your money on this hell hole.
- 1/5
The towels had a bunch of hair on it when I checked in and there was a roach half the size of my hand in the tub when I woke up to shower so I didn’t shower & I left this nasty place
- 5/5
Affordable, quiet and safe.
- 1/5
This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. And for such a price, absolutely not worth it. The price of a night stay in this sub-par hotel got me a mind-blowing experience in a 5-star hotel on the Las Vegas strip a day before. The room was so dirty. From the bathroom to the chairs in the room, everything was that bad. I barely stayed in the room for more than 5 hours. If proximity to Hollywood is what you're looking for, then you'd be better off staying somewhere nicer but further.
- 4/5
The staff was okay, though not particularly friendly or social. Also, the lobby was locked, so all interactions had to be done through a window, which felt a bit impersonal. On the positive side, the room itself was nice and the beds were very comfortable. However, one serious concern: the bathtub was extremely slippery. My 5-year-old slipped while taking a shower and hit his head and elbow on the rim of the tub. That was really upsetting and could have been prevented with better safety measures.

The staff was very nice. The house keepers were exceptionally warm, friendly and very helpful!

It was ok felt a bit shady but slept ok.

- 3/5
Location is good. You can walk to the Metro. I stayed Saturday and Sunday night. I have no noise complaints. There is a fridge & microwave. A store across the street. They charge 25 cents for ice. I think for the price I got what I paid for.
- 1/5
Manager was super rude! Room had an odor and holes in the bathroom wall. Won’t ever be staying here again
- 3/5
No parking if you arrive later. You have to park in the street. Staff was rude and no cards without chip accepted. Put a hold for double the $200. I have 2 holds of $200 each
- 3/5
The room was nice however a few things that were a bit annoying! Outlets! No where near enough outlets to plug in devices. Toilet doesn’t work all the time. The tank will not fill up so you have to add water to the tank to flush it. There was no comforter on the bed. 2 sheets and that was it! Parking is a complete nightmare! They over sold the parking permits and people were double parked! Such a hassle! Location was awesome so close to the areas we wanted to see. Room was somewhat clean lots of stains on the bathroom grout so made it appear as it wasn’t properly cleaned!
- 1/5
The 3 stars are cause was so cheap. Somehow clean and very close to everything but old like a real legend. Has parking which is good for the area and they charge only 10$. Make sure you have 200$ for security deposit which was not mentioned on Orbitz. Would go again when in Hollywood for 100$ cant beat that.
- 5/5
Very nice place people that work. There are very nice as well. Love the housekeeping, ladies. They are very polite and always willing to help. Say the thing about the front desk guy. I’ll be going back soon.
- 3/5
My room had a leaking sink and shower was not running hot water.
- 2/5
They gave us a room without fridge. Frank desk guy is so rude. He gave us dirty room and said we can’t change the room as it’s Friday and available rooms will be sold out later. They charged parking fees too.
- 4/5
It was very affordable and I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness. I would definitely visit again.
- 2/5
Don’t stay here
- 2/5
The front-desk person was not welcoming, there were people on the property smoking and loitering by the cars - I did not feel safe in broad day light, so we left and didn't stay the night.
- 1/5
No parking when I arrive the guy said I can park out side. The tow truck took my van had to pay 600 to get it out. Horrible experience
- 4/5
Good location in Hollywood, but parking was extremely limited and cost an extra $10. The room was clean and modern, though the bathroom mirror was cracked and its light was not working. Bed linens were thin and it got cold in the morning. I didn't try the split heating unit. Overall, it was a bit cheaper than Motel 6, and comparable quality. Given that it's at a central location near the Walk of Fame, I wouldn't rule out booking it again if I'm in the area and need a quick cheap place to crash.
- 3/5
Being an outdoor hotel. It was quite a noisy neighborhood. Convenient location. Not much of service as the man is behind the window. There’s no common area
- 1/5
Horrible service, Indian guy receptionist RUDE, overcharge $45.
- 2/5
Booked a different hotel for the wrong day and found this as they were the only thing under $300 for the night. Rude front desk, no parking, paper thin walls, no elevator, yellow tub mat, the towels left nothing but lint. Never again lol
- 5/5
Cool
- 2/5
Room was dirty. Loud toilet running all the time and loud fridge had to be unplugged.
- 4/5
The motel was fine for a visit to the Hollywood area in L.A. Very bare bones but clean and comfortable. You have to check in using a window from the outside as the motel office is closed to visitors for security reasons. The room only has a microwave and fridge with no coffee and no safe to store valuables in. The room was just fine otherwise and surprisingly quiet considering it is on a very busy road. I would stay here again.
- 3/5
No blanket! Essentially 2 sheets and a noisy broken heater and it got down into the 40s the night I was there. Needless to say I was freezing! No refund. No discount. C’est la vie.
- 1/5
It worth the cheap rate
- 4/5
There is very limited parking and not enough for tenants. I had to search for an hour for parking in the streets.
- 1/5
Not enough parking at hotel and surrounding areas. Had to park a block away for $30 and not a safe neighborhood/area to leave your car. We were stressing all night about it. Dirty room, thin bedding and AC broken. Staff generally unfriendly. Terrible experience.
- 1/5
The sink was clogged. The IC doesn't work.
- 4/5
Fantastic place but poor cleanliness ( please give your cleaning agents correct vacuum cleaners who goes in corners !), suspicious stains on the work table, sticky floor. Customer contact is reduced to a minimum : you are not allowed to enter the office, you stay outside to register and speak through a dirty small plastic window without hearing the answer...
- 1/5
I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The management was incredibly rude and unprofessional, which made the entire experience uncomfortable. When I raised concerns, they were dismissive and unhelpful. On top of that, the hotel was extremely loud—day and night—making it nearly impossible to get any rest. Walls are thin, and it felt like there was no effort made to control noise levels or maintain a peaceful atmosphere. I do not recommend this place if you’re looking for relaxation or respectful customer service. Not sure why this hotel still running by this management .

Two grumpy, unpleasant Indian staff (esp. manager, Rafiq) who acted as if the room was free. Nice contemp. decor but the motel is falling apart. Dirty bathtub, dirty lampshades, dirty floor, thin walls (I could
- 4/5
For the price it was a good place to stay. Walking distance from Hollywood Blvd. Super friendly staff and convenient parking. The mattress was not the most comfortable but the room had cable and a large vanity mirror.
- 2/5
Thin walls, not able to sleep unfortunately.
- 3/5
Like the style and size of the rooms.
- 1/5
I do come from a customer service background, and I could use this as top 3 things on what NOT to say to customers.
- 1/5
The attention is terrible. The place is not pleasant. There were insects in the bathroom.
- 2/5
The hotel needs good receptionists
- 3/5
The room was ok to stay in but it wasn’t the cleanest place. Grime on drawer handles, dust from the huge gap under the door, fridge and tv were also not working right. Only needed to stay there for one night so it was tolerable.
- 4/5
It was really central to all the Hollywood main attractions. You get what you pay for.
- 1/5
Lobby was locked, I had to check in outside in the rain,
- 5/5
I don’t know , who’s that guy at the office a old Indian man but he was so rude and bad energy .. very bad experience with that old man
- 5/5
Love how they revamped this beat up old hotel, and turned it into something cute
- 3/5
It was alright for the price
- 5/5
A real hidden gem, because it was very cheap, I was expecting a dirty property with no service like most of Indian immigrants running cheesy hotel, but I was in for a nice surprise. Parking was easy, location is perfect, room was very clean, great quality all around and clean bathroom. Service was great! I would definitely stay at Legend again.
- 3/5
It was okay the bathroom could use some work, not a great job cleaning but not too bad to sleep one night
- 5/5
Not a bad place for the price per night. Only thing is the $200 dollar deposit & the $10 per night for parking. The room was clean, well furnished full of towels and dope.
- 5/5
The rooms are clean and a short walk to Hollywood Blvd.
- 4/5
Parking was difficult. Good for the price.
- 5/5
The manager was very nice and loved our room will request it again. Our girlfriends also got a room and loved it. microwave, TV fridge, decor so cute, beds comfy. only suggestion is get safes in rooms and TV that can get netflix but other than that it is a great place with great location at a great price. We will tell all our OC friends to go when they go out in LA. Thank You!
- 5/5
Friendly staff Everything went smoothly Will be back for sure
- 1/5
Very unprofessional during checkout. Property itself is not sound proof and anyone walking upstairs would be like someone hitting on your head.
- 1/5
SO LOUD. you will hear everything. Luckily the ac is also loud so i used that to quit the noise. I was downstairs and it sounded like whoever was upstairs was moving furniture all night. There is no extra security lock on the door, I would only stay here as a single man who doesn't care where he sleeps. There was only 2 packs of gum in the empty vending machine. Be warned it is in a very bad area so you probably don't want to be wandering around looking for snacks on your own. It was walking distance from the strip at least. 8 parking spaces in the entire narrow lot. Im sorry I didn't take photos.
- 1/5
To begin, the lobby was never open and the man working was grumpy and not helpful. It cost money to get ice!!! No coffee machine in the room. The only amenities were toiletries and 2 plastic cups. We didn’t even have a blanket on our bed, in December!! The plumbing was extremely loud. When our neighbors took a shower at 3:00 am we were startled awake by the noise. And the walls are not insulated so you hear everything. The parking lot is very small and we had to pay to park. Plus it was exorbitantly overpriced to begin!! While I realize the property can’t be held responsible for the loud road noise (which is terrible if you are in a room near the street) They are responsible for other guests. We were again startled awake by screaming and fighting of a couple a few doors down. This went on for a hour before we just gave up and left; with only a few hours sleep. when we turned in our key, the Grumpy old man was sitting in the closed up lobby not attending to anything. ☹️ Someone has tried to upgrade the motel. They have done a decent job with paint, new sheets, (no blankets) and furnishings are okay. BUT it doesn’t have Hospitality! We never felt comfortable nor did we feel safe!!
- 2/5
Found hair, several bugs and pieces of dirt in between sheets. Could not walk on floors without shoes on. Felt extra itchy after laying on my be bed. Extra fees upon arrival that were not fairly disclosed in original booking. Fan was super loud, Could not sleep due to door slamming, loud street noises, and fear that the area and hotel wasn’t safe. Went to return the room key in the morning to see the manager was actually not even on the premise, leading me to believe there was no overnight security. The pictures look nothing like the actual property! No access was even provided to the lobby, for the complimentary juice, coffee and water shown. Could not even get a brochure from the counter! Only thing available in vending machine was gum. If you’re trying to save a couple bucks upgrade for 30-40 a night more. This was horribly uncomfortable and unsafe feeling for families
- 3/5
The floor kind dirty
- 1/5
Front Deck guy not friendly, rude, not enough space parking, we don’t get parking, not even smile
- 1/5
I never asked for anything in return or a refund. It was very rude of the property manager to call me a liar and think that I would purposely trash my room for no reason.
- 3/5
Be careful for the parking they charge you $10 for parking per day and if you have multiple cars more like you can only have one car parked that have a small lot but the problem is if you pay you can’t swap out cars even tho you paid. Weird but it’s cheap so you get what you paid for room wise.
- 4/5
If a room is available and someone with a reservation arrives early, there should not be a charge to get in the room early. Travelers cannot arrange their flights to arrive in Hollywood around your check in convenience. Housekeeping were nice people and did a great job. Do not state that you offer breakfast when you clearly do not offer one at all.
- 5/5
Is way too much and 10 for parking. Rooms look great for what you pay and isn’t too crazy. I will stay again
- 2/5
room was dirty. water leaking from mini fridge. chairs had obvious stains on linen.
- 5/5
Staff are very rude AND NO PARKING. Down the street you can pay $30 for overnight parking and walk back to hotel. Also no blankets, no comforters on beds only sheets. good thing heater worked well. I was too lazy to get up and ask if they had blankets. If they see more people they will charge 15 per person
- 5/5
Really get property. Would suggest it to anyone
- 4/5
Property was a convenient and good Property to stay at in downtown Hollywood
- 5/5
I needed a quick one night stay and this was perfect. There’s a 24 hour CVS across the street too and lots of places to eat. The room was really cute and very clean! The staff was very friendly and the gentleman at the front counter was really nice. For a non walkable city there were lots of cute places around and it felt safer than the rest of Hollywood. Great price too.
- 5/5
Clean and tidy, worked well for a quick stay. Staff was really friendly, even checking in at 1:30am
- 4/5
The only downside is when you do your research online you will not know that they charge $10 a night for parking. It just says parking available which would lead you to believe you can park your car there because you’re renting a room.
- 2/5
Customer service not so good. The guy was a little rude wouldn’t stay there again and really pricey
- 5/5
I would 100 percent stay here again! It was a clean, well kept building, felt safe to walk the area at night and it is minutes from Hollywood walk of fame on foot with plentiful restaurants around. The office staff was friendly and had no issues checking in or out.
- 5/5
It was awesome
- 5/5
Everything
- 1/5
Room was dirty with papier thin walls. Could hear tv from other rooms. Found several cockroaches in our room and they did not want to compensate. Refuse room 106
- 1/5
Remote barely worked. Had trouble with key unlocking door, man at front desk working was very rude and made everything feel uncomfortable.
- 2/5
Horrible customer service
- 5/5
Very accommodating.
- 5/5
Perfect for a show at the Hollywood Bowl!!!
- 3/5
We had to park 15 minutes away walking distance because their parking was full. We stayed in room 202 up stairs and the room was not cleaned properly. The floors were dirty and so was the counter. I would recommend this place if you’re desperate for a night stay
- 2/5
Don’t stay there!
- 1/5
Don’t stay here if you want to park your car down the block. The property states first come first serve for parking but front desk told us that people paid for parking already so we had to park 5 minutes away from the hotel. Front desk was extremely unhelpful, rude, and charged us for extra guest although our room was booked for our whole party. The whole parking situation and charging or extra guest was a scam. Will definitely not recommend anyone to stay here.
- 3/5
We arrived late checked in straight away Struggling with cases told they don’t help with luggage 2 women travelling too 2 flights of stairs Very central place to stay and yes would stay there again
- 3/5
Hotel was average at best for the price. Could have been cleaner, blanket was not usable due to stains. Parking was convenient.
