It was extremely hot on the 5th and the property wasn’t full. It’s Texas summer, no one should be up there until it’s the last resort. My clothes were damp from the moisture in the room and everything stuck to everything. I let the front desk know and they were going to have someone look at it.

The staff was friendly and the lobby is beautiful. Loved the coi fish. We stay at Hyatt a lot and based on past experiences, this property did not meet the same standards. The room wasn’t clean and needs renovation. Dust was stuck on the popcorn ceiling and in all the air vents. The base boards were all cuffed and looked dusty. The room felt damp. The blow dryer was covered in sticky residue. I had to buy one to use. The pillows smelled old and musty like someone with unwashed hair slept on them. I asked for new ones. They also smelled old and musty. I couldn’t use them it was bothering me so much. I tried pulling the sheets over them and it didn’t help. Suggestions: all the pillows need to be replaced more lighting added to the rooms New carpets, The carpet was old and worn and looked unclean. Better more thorough dusting and get rid of popcorn ceiling as I’m sure that’s difficult to clean.

The property was very clean and quiet. A little dark in the room, so more lightening recommended. The shower pressure was fine but the water doesn't get warm or hot. But other than my cold shower, I slept really well. The pillows are amazing and comfortable

The hotel needs major renovation. It is very old looking inside. Don’t think of taking a shower unless you want to spend a whole day with the water pressure being sooo weak. Also, you will manually have to shut your door when you leave your room don’t forget to do that. My friend’s room had a leak in the bathroom and it was because someone was showering above them. The second room they gave them also had a burnt light in the bathroom. Their room was very dusty and wasn’t as clean as ours. The fish in the pond was the only best part. I expected much better from the Hyatt.

Location is excellent, main areas are wonderful but the rooms and bathrooms are dated, clean but dated and I mean very dated with half the switches and locks either broken or fixed but not functional anymore.

It appears the hotel may be going through a remodel. The lobby is great. I'm going to assume the rooms are the next to be remodeled. The room was dated and smelled old, so I really couldn't tell if it had been cleaned recently or not. Positive...the staff was great!

The room was dirty. The shower did not drain, so you were standing in a dirty tub of water while bathing. Carpet was disgusting. The bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet. Complained about all of these issues and they were never resolved during my stay

He then approached vehicles in an aggressive manner to make them back out of the area. The scenario immediately struck me as a human trafficking/kidnap attempt, so I readied my weapon and began looking for an escape route. He demanded that I roll down my window and I told him he needed to get away from my vehicle or he risked injury. After getting away from him, I reported his behavior at the front counter and was offered compensation and an apology. The rest of my stay was uneventful and satisfactory.

I loved the Koi fish. I stayed there just because you'll head coi fish. I love them and anytime the hotel has them and that's where I'll stay and the coffee and the coffee shop area where the pastries and snacks were was great!

The property is architecturally beautiful and very well kept. We had a peaceful stay and a quiet night’s rest.

Restaurant was woefully understaffed and missing almost every wine on the list. Food was subpar also per the server food items not available. That being said property was well maintained and room was clean. Really large hotel which is probably hard to fill.

We loved our stay at Hyatt Regency Houston West. It’s a beautiful hotel. I feel bad because I didn’t get the name of the gentleman who checked us in, he was so kind and helpful. Also when we were passing by the cafe, the lady working was about to go on break but she was kind enough to let me in and allowed me to order a cafe mocha, which I really appreciated. Our room was so nice and clean. Bed was so comfortable and I slept so good. The same gentleman who checked us in also checked us out and I asked him about feeding the Kio fish and he handed me the food and I absolutely loved feeding them!!! We didn’t get to enjoy their pool but we are looking forward to that our next stay. I highly recommend staying here at this hotel, it’s not only beautiful but their staff is amazing and customer service is excellent! The hotel is also convenient in location, right off I-10, not far from City Centre and memorial city mall. Thank you.

The facility is old and it is barely kept up. The carpets are worn out and dirty. The bedsheets had horrible stains. The bathroom is moldy and dirty. The parking is horrible.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and it is kept VERY cold - bring a sweater and long pants in the summer. Dining menu is limited. Wait staff in restaurant and bar are excellent.

AC was not working properly in the room. When we got there at 11pm that night it seemed to be working at 68 degrees and it was very cold. Turned it up to 70 degrees it was not hot but the temp was ok, I slept without the covers most of the night. I did tell the front desk when we checked out at 8:15am and said they would get someone to work on it.

I enjoyed the Hyatt Regency Houston West! I was there for work and they made it so easy to check in/check out. It is in a good location and the food/drinks at the restaurant and bar were good. I did have a small issue with the water in my room at 11pm my first night and they addressed it immediately and even gave me a voucher for breakfast in the morning which was so nice of them. and of course feeding the koi fish was so fun. I will be back

Very old room, it has been many may year I had not seen spring mattress, bad smell, bathroom was smelly, front desk staff is very rude in responding, not know how to talk with kids, kids went to get the food for fish he lies and said no food but giving my to others.

Very bad bed, old fashion room….but I guess for the price I did pay it’s ok…

But there are no microwaves in the room and the refrigerator has a note plastered on the front reading: "Caution this cooler is set 55 degrees and will not keep perishable items from spoiling. Please contact the front desk if you require a refrigerator" I'm glad they allowed this room refrigerator to identify itself as a cooler. But the perishables I brought with me still perished.

To start off, 1) don’t call the front desk from your room phone, they will not pick up even if someone is standing at the front desk working. When I walked to the front desk, I asked, “Do the room phones operate correctly? Do they actually call the front desk?” The attendant said yes they do so I informed him that I have been calling for the past 5 minutes. His only response was “oh, I’ve been here, sorry about that.” 2) We traveled while it was raining, and we had a room on the second floor… there was water dripping in from the SEALED window. We put a towel under it since it was not a fast leak and we were only there for the weekend. 3) They hosted a high school prom the weekend of our stay and post prom, teenagers had rooms booked in the hotel! That was insane to me, as well as the constant running and screaming they were doing around the halls. 4)Lastly, Sunday morning came around, looking to sleep in from a busy weekend… they were playing music so loudly in the lobby that you could hear it and feel the bass in our second floor room at 8am sharp. What truly saved this review was the kitchen staff. They were all so courteous and pleasant, not like the other staff there. The hotel should really thank them.

Unfortunately we did not have breakfast at the hotel, it's not that didn't want to, we woke up too late and had to rush to get to where we needed to go on time on Saturday. On Sunday morning, we left early before breakfast started to drive home.

It was convenient spot for the baseball fields There was a Band-Aid between the mirror and the wall in the bathroom. The bed was very springy in the pillows were super thin.

Very nice place to spend one night. Our room was clean, appropriate for a one-night stand. However, it took 3 to 5 minutes to get hot water in the bathroom. The pillows were very soft, and after a while it became uncomfortable.

Upon entering the room, the very first thing I laid eyes on was this dark shadow on the bathroom floor; after turning on the light, I see that it’s shoe print from either polish or dye. Very unsightly. I couldn’t believe they wouldn’t have replaced those tiles or floor. The room carpet was a dark color but, I could tell it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Two bed room, one plastic laundry bag. The antiquated toiletry size annoyed me; those toy bottles aren’t enough for one person. Do they not know that we’re expecting full size toiletries in the shower now? Speaking of the shower, they actually have a sign posted informing that; you have to allow the water to run at least 5 minutes to warm up but, when it does, there’s hardly any water pressure. There’s no deodorizer used in the towels they didn’t have a fresh scent. If it hadn’t been for the fact that were only stayin overnight I would have taken that loss ( no cancellations ) and went elsewhere. The only reason I gave three stars is for the ambiance leading to the room, valet service and the check out person was very sweet. They need to do better.!!!

In Its' day this place was a showplace. It is still very nice with the largest lobby that I have seen maybe ever. The hotel is a bit tired. It will be a massive undertaking to bring it up to where it was in its prime. Bar was good. Food looked really good. Outdoor pool was large and clean. I paid a fair rate. It was a good value.

I stayed 25-28 and my room was never cleaned. I informed the front desk each day and the assured me that it would be cleaned but it never was cleaned. I had to request for new towels.

Smooth check-in, easy parking, and great lobby space with koi fish. We enjoyed having a drink in the lobby by the fish. During the winter holidays, the lobby gets extra decorations. Clean, comfortable room. There is freeway noise on the freeway side, but that’s everywhere in Houston.

Basically rested up for spring break and enjoyed the stay. Relaxation. Sort of away from the downtown events such as the galleria area. The lobby area was BEAUTIFUL now the room could use some updates.

The first two times we stayed here the rooms were so nice. Evidently some rooms have not been updated. Unfortunately, we stayed in one of those our third stay. Bed was very uncomfortable and bathroom very outdated. I will not stay again in one of these rooms. This is sad for such a nice hotel.

The lobby was beautiful. Flooring was difficult to move luggage. Rooms were very dated in the 80's fashion. Linens were wonderful. Koi ponds were a big hit with the families.

The decor of the overall hotel is beautiful, and the did have a problem getting in our room at 2am due to the key and the door so that did cause some safety issues that made us have to get another room.

The open areas were nice. Room was clean. Bathroom was a bit dated compared to the rest of the environment. Tiny bottles of shampoo and body wash, plan to bring more or ask the front desk for more. Caulking in the bathroom was old and not well done; hard water stains in the shower.

This was a really nice hotel. Its in a fairly reasonable location. It was clean and parking was free. The room decor is a bit outdated but the tv was pretty big and had good channels. The room was also spacious.

We payed for two nights but stayed for one night. The smell of the room was unbearable it had a funk smell, musky and stinky feet. The pillows smelled like wet feathers. Room are outdated. Staff was very friendly. Koi pond is nice. Bar area is nice and friendly.

Overall, the Hyatt was wonderful; staff was very friendly, check in/out was easy. Room was clean, quiet. Location is great; easy on/off I-10. The atrium is lovely! Watching the ornamental Carp (Koi) fish zoom through the well-maintained ponds was a relaxing and fun way to spend some down time between family events. We would definitely stay at the Hyatt again.

My wife and I stayed here over Valentine’s weekend. While the staff was very friendly and welcoming, it was evident that they were understaffed and unprepared for the increased number of guests during the weekend. The facility, though clean, showed signs of being outdated in several areas. Our room, in particular, was in need of upgrades, including the walls, fixtures, and bathroom. Although we enjoyed our time, this will likely be our last stay, as we feel the cost does not align with the quality of the accommodations provided.

The highlight of our stay is the pool and jacuzzi (surprisingly clean). Both are located outdoors. The weather was warm enough for us to enjoy those amenities. Our room is clean. The complaints I had are that the size of the bathroom in our room is too small and the carpet on the 5th floor where we stay is a little old with a little pest-control smell. Front staffs are friendly. The food at their on-site restaurant is delicious, but pricy.

The A.C/ heater was not working properly throughout my stay. I did have to call the front desk to send someone up to fix it, and they came right away. The air didn’t get cold enough and the heat didn’t get hot enough. Also, the pillows were not the best. They needed to be replaced. The fluffiness was all gone out of all the pillows. Customer service was A1 though. The parking was great. I love the fish pond.

The building is beautiful but the rooms are too old and smeel like cigarettes. We have to ask then to change the room because smell was strong and we have a baby . They were super nice they moved us to a new room but we can smell the cigarettes

Poor hygiene and the rooms smelled bad even after switching rooms. The breakfast staff were very unprofessional and they would pretend to not hear us when we call them, then came and put the bill in front of us without saying anything. Definitely would not return again.

The lobby and dining areas were beautiful. Employees were VERY polite and helpful! The room was clean but I wouldn't say it was to the same standard as you'd expect from the condition of the elegant entrance. (phone and cords in the bathroom had a layer of dust, the bedskirt was askew with one side actually laying on the floor about 6 inches.)

Well to be so expensive I was expecting more with breakfast included where you didn’t have to add it to the package also everything is small the bathroom is all small and was half flushing. The elevators were small. The rooms felt crammed and crowded and not spacey and things weren’t all that clean there were ants as well too everywhere.

Visited with my family. The location and in-house views were made beautifully, guest concierge friendly but overall it was a very old hotel. Can’t say I was impressed enough to go back but it was ok. No ice machines worked on my floor, fridgerators do not get cold, and the only microwave was in the lobby. Overall the most I would give is a 3/5.

Rooms are very old. We asked for a renovated room and we were told we got a renovated room by the receptionist. But the actual room was old and terrible.

The stay was very good although I was only there for one night. The room was very large and very clean. I enjoyed the stay.

There was a dog show there and one of the elevators kept catching the people in the door. One time it caught a dog.

Very impressed with our stay. The room smelt Smokey, I did not like that. However, otherwise it was wonderful.

Could use updating of the rooms and property

Great Dinner food. Too soft of a bed. Shower water was not hot.

The showers need to be updated. Low pressure and not very hot. Other than that a nice experience.

I like, it is cleaned & the view in side hotel is very nice kids like feeding fish, but i didn't like breakfast is not free , kids click movies in TV charged us could not block or ask partent permission & some extra charged in the cafe ( waiting return ).

My overall day was very nice. The hotel was beautiful however we went down for breakfast and breakfast was an additional cost. I wish they would have included breakfast with our stay.

Missing mini fridge in room missing small magnifying mirror in restroom broken outlet in restroom and beds seem to be full size not queen but I could be wrong

It’s great hotel

My vacation went well because I stayed at this hotel.

The lobby is gorgeous, the staff was beyond awesome. The room was pretty, the bed was really nice, the wear and tear was in the bathroom. The hot water took a long time to even warm, I almost called the staff. Eventually it warmed enough for a shower. The bathroom needs a lot of cosmetic work.

It would have been nice to have a blanket in the room , but I couldn't find one. One thing I didn't like was the fact that we weren't offered a complimentary breakfast. It would've been great if it was offered. Overall it was an amazing hotel and I do intend to stay there next time.

One of my favorite hotels to stay at in the energy corridor, it is quiet, clean, and easy access to the freeway.

Nice rooms, plenty of food choices.

Staff members from the person in valet parking to the registration desk to the wait staff in the food areas were very friendly and efficient and very responsive to questions and requests. Without question, I would stay at this facility again.

The beds were really uncomfortable. We asked for firm pillows and were given more feather pillows . And asked again they said they already gave them to us . Hallways were dirty and there were holes in the wall .

The biggest issue was the a/c. It did not cool the room and this is a must in humid hot Houston. By the time I realized it wasn't cooling it was 10PM and I was exhausted from a full day of travel. Wallpaper was peeling from the wall in the bathroom. There was only one garbage can and it did not have a liner.

The area was so quiet and I was not expecting it to be as big as it was!! Good study areas as well..

Coffeemaker didn't work.

We gaslit ourselves into thinking we brought the ants in the room because we were by the pool before we went into the room. However the last night we got in late and picked up a late night snack and woke up to a pile of ants on the night stand. Maybe ask if they fumigated before booking

Exemplary everything except two things. First, the parking lot is very far away from the front entrance. At night, it is unsafe. Second, I arrived late at night and there were no machines available for drinks or snacks. I flew for several hours and expected that amenity. I visited the on-site restaurants and bar during the day. They were top notch!:You need to have a shuttle at night because of the distance.

The cooler in the room didn’t work, the hot water didn’t work the first two days, the lock on the door would allow us to get in, even after having the key cards redone 3 times, and the building leaked in different areas.

We had to change rooms because the television didn’t work. The front desk person brought us our new key, which was nice. The main restaurant was closed for the evening but they did serve a dinner in the smaller lounge. We decided to eat out. The property is old but seems to taken decent care of. The ceiling in the second room we stayed in looked like it was going to cave in due to water damage. Overall it was a decent stay for the one night we stayed.

Peaceful and relaxing stay.

Iwas disappointed that I didn't have a refrigerator for 2 days, I asked for one and they said yes they had one never brought, i brought food expecting one, People checked in the next day and got refrigerator, and they clean the room or bring fresh towels.

It was a beautiful Hotel. Enjoyed every second of our stay.

Check in was fine. But we have problems in the room The blow dry was broke. I called the front desk twice and let it ring about 20 times. So I had to get dressed and go down to the desk he said housekeeping would bring one right up. It’s been 20 minutes and no hair dry. I sure would like to go to bed😕

The cafe was spacious and nice but the buffet “ hot” foods were way under acceptable service temperatures. I did have the fresh omelette, which was excellent and hot. The buffet was expensive at $26 a pop & the coffee was weak. They should offer expresso/cappuccino in the cafe. There is a Starbucks elsewhere in the hotel.

Everything was pleasant

The lobby, restaurant, bar, etc were VERY cold Sun - Wed - seem to get it fixed somewhat by Wed PM. My room was also very cold - thermostat set at 65 degrees when I checked in. I turned it up, but the maid the following day turned it back down again so I had to turn it up again. The rest of the days the maid did not turn it back down. This is a pet friendly hotel with lots of dogs. Though well behaved, I would not stay there is you are allergic and don't like having that many dogs around in lobby, etc.

The AC unit was not working properly every time it would turn itself off it would make a huge thump this happened every 15 minutes. It was hard for us to sleep thru thr night

Swimming pool was closed. We had booked the property for swimming pool. We had to leave it and book another place - did not finish our stay

For a high end hotel, it was disappointing not having a refrigerator to keep items cold.

Everything went smooth from check in to check out. Nice pool and was very clean!

The desk clerk at registration swore that Expedia had nothing to do with any amenities or had any knowledge of the VIP status of the hotel, much less of what a Platinum membership meant. After, unsuccessfully, trying to explain to him, even after showing him on the app, I just gave up and checked in to retire to our room. Felt very dismissed and unattended.

I was excited about my stay, from reading some reviews prior. I was only staying for a night, I found body hair in the bed. The air conditioner made a loud knock before coming on , each time. There was no ventilation switch in the bathroom and finally, there was mold on the shower curtain. It could use some upgrades.

The property is a beautiful layout with thoughtful spaces to rest and enjoy Architecture and Interior Design. Attention to details in the amenities was deeply appreciated.

Accessible is only a short seat took 2 days and multiple request to get. The water for showers barely gets hot, had to request towels multiple times over 6 days. No restaurant for dinner other than the bar which is a bar menu. No place to walk to. Most rooms are noisy right next to Highway.

Really nice hotel. It does show a little wear and tear in places. But overall great place. Love the fish ponds in the lobby, so peaceful.
