The location is great for visiting MDA. The self-parking was supposed to be covered by the hotel via use of room key card. It never worked and we had to pay each time we left the hotel.

The hotel was very clean and updated. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. My husband had a surgery at MDAnderaon nearby, so the location was great for me to go back and forth to the hospital and the hotel shuttle service was very convenient to get me to the hospital and back to the hotel. Front staff helped me with some changes to my reservation. Definitely will stay here for any medical needs in the future.

Staff is very friendly from the valet people, to the bartenders, to the servers, to the shuttle drivers. Front desk people are very helpful. Very close to MD Anderson. Less than 0.5 mile walk to the main building, but the shuttle can also give you a ride. Rooms are clean. Robes are very nice. TV streaming services available by casting from your phone, so very easy. We've stayed at several other nearby hotels, but the InterContinental is the best.

Check-in was quick and easy. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The shuttle service was very convenient for us because my husband had several appointments at MD Anderson so we used the shuttle service to get back and forth.

Had an amazing time here.Friendly staff,prompt service and they got me everything I asked for.I needed to warm some food and so I called the front desk to ask where could go to use a microwave.The person at the desk asked me to stay in the room and that a microwave will be brought to me.Within few minutes,the microwave was delivered.I will definitely be staying here again and will highly recommend.I wish I could rate this hotel 10 starts.

Standard hotel in a pleasant area of the Medical district We were somewhat disappointed that at 2pm the receptionist wanted 65 USD for early check-in even though she eventually waived it - an unnecessary unpleasant start to the stay that will affect the whole impression

I've stayed at Intercontinental several times in the past including my honeymoon and have had a great experience. However, my experience at the Houston location wasn't as smooth. To start, the bell man was great, he was personable and was ready to help us. We had 4 big luggages and he was ready and willing to help with a smile. When trying to check in, the attendant wasnt as personable. Didnt even smile to welcome us. We got in early, so I asked if they had a room availbe to check in early. Unfortunately, it wasnt which is fine. But then a bout 45 mins later, as we were about to leave, they the attendant told us it was. We brought all our luggages including another family who was staying there as well. We opened the room and it wasn't ready. Had to bring all the luggages down again and was told we will have to wait. So, we just kept them in storage and left until the night time to check in as we wanted to explore. For feedback, if you are to over deliver, make sure you have it all set up appropriately. Smile and welcome your guests. Make them feel important. When checking out, they approved a late check out. They said I had to reprogram the key because it stops at the normal check out time. So i did, but when i went back, it didnt work. In short, it couldve been a better experience.

A light on a desk was stuck on and did a strobe light from 1:00 am til morning. It was awful . I was by myself and did not want to call maintenance at 1:00 am . Talked to manger next morning, showed little concern at all. Also ate at expensive restaurant that has also been good was awful . Food was cold. Highly disappointed and would not recommend for anyone to stay for there pricey rooms. Then to top it all off charged me an extra room charge rate when I checked out that I’m still trying to get refunded

This an excellent hotel. Great for shuttle to NRG Stadium. Had buffet breakfast and it was delicious and restaurant staff was very nice and attentive. Parking garage next to hotel. The elevator takes you directly into the lobby.

Somehow, they knew I was a big tipper and four of the valet guys three black and one hispanic surronded my vehicle to assist with loading my very light luggage in my car after I checked out of the hotel. Four guys was not necessary. I was working with the hispanic guy who had serviced me with a luggage cart and took my escorted me and my luggage to the front enterence.

We traveled to Houston for stockshow. We didn't know when exactly we would be showing and probably should have extended our stay sooner. However, we didn't and on the last day, they were unable to extend our reservation because they were over-booked. The manager was pretty rude about it. Didn't offer any other help. I felt like what would have been a nice stay, left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The staff was very professional, and I love that my room, was clean and fresh. The only area that could’ve been better was my bathroom. It could’ve been mopped more thoroughly, and there was hair in the bathtub that wasn’t mine, which was noticeable. I’d recommend a final check during cleaning to ensure bathrooms are fully cleaned before guests arrive. Other than that, it was a good experience overall.

This is my 3rd time staying at the intercontinental because my son lives near by. The hotel is fine ( nice valet, friendly staff, rooms clean ) but the showers do not work well - we could barely shower as the water went from scalding to freezing without warning and the front desk sent up an engineer twice with no luck -- this occurred last time as well but they were able to change us to a different room that was slightly better with this problem. So if this is important to you then I would suggest staying elsewhere.

I stayed at the InterContinental Houston for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. Everyone in the lounge was helpful and friendly, and the food was good. The valet crew was terrific. Big shout-out to Abdalaziz, Liliana, Robert, Quinton, and Alex for helping me with my vehicle. I wish I kept the names of the other staff who made my visit unforgettable.

Location, professional staff with great attitude. The restaurant: great cuisine - we loved the hummus especially. The Restaurant/Bar Area are a little cold and impersonal, less cheerful than a guest who goes to MD Anderson might find comfort in. Concierge and Maid service ware outstanding. All in all one a great stay. The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Soft bathrobes to boot. The bar area and the Restaurant feel and ambiance, perhaps due to the very high ceilings, are a bit dated and cold. Since many guests may be visiting also MD Anderson for treatment, a warmer, more soothing environ in color and especially light, may be great. The morning coffee, albeit very good, is expensive $6+. We found other comparable Hotels offeer free coffee in the morning for guests staying a full week, like we did.

My toilet was clogged when I arrived and although staff engineer was most gracious and worked hard to get it fixed after 2 flushed was clogged again - obviously was a bigger problem. I have stayed @ this hotel several times since 2019; but, this time I was not happy! I spent 2 days in a cold room, furnace was NOT working properly, maintenance staff was sent to my room 4 times to work on the thermostat, I was never offered a new room until I went to front desk & demanded to be moved to another room! Not sure I will stay there next year when I go back for my yearly checkup @ MD Anderson!

Our stay was wonderful, the hotel has chauffer service to shopping areas. However, on the morning that we checked out at 9am, we were told there was a restaurant charge to our room. In our 3 nights, we ate out at local restaurants with our family and has never used the hotel restaurant, we asked for proof of signature but the girl at front desk said she will take care of it and reverse the charge as we did not eat there. We got home and found that our credit card was charged. We had called the hotel right away and was told that the accounting department will reverse the charges within 24 hours but that never happened and called the hotel again the next day, again Jan that received the call put me through to front desk and I had to explain the whole story again and was told by Mariane that accounting department will have to handle it. It is frustrating how slow the hotel is reacting when clearly it is their fault, the size and calibre of this hotel, we just expect better service when it is the hotel's mistake. A large hotel like this, you would think that they double check on guest room and signature and I also asked them to check their surveillance camera cause our family has receipt proofs that we did not eat at their restaurant but somewhere else. I would have given them a perfect mark but this episode leaves a bad mark for the hotel in my book, and speaks volumes for their lack of customer service. Our stay was from Nov. 9 and we checked out morning of Nov. 12.

Breakfast and parking prices here are insanely high! The staff was friendly but I’ve had much better amenities and comfort in cheaper hotels. I thought it would be nice to treat my wife and myself to an upper class hotel but the way all the services and charges were added makes me think my future stats will be at more economical places that offer things like free breakfast and free parking and real coffee pots and microwaves in the room.

The hotel is a very nice one and the customer service overall was great my reason for the 3-star is because during my check-in the young man was very courteous but lacked knowledge. I had to tell him about the amenities that were included in my stay. If I had not said anything I would have no access to the lounge, no $25 dollar credit and these are things I paid for.

And the maid staff double blocking their carts in the walkway when they saw us with a lot of carry on luggage. I almost wanted to help them wheel the carts out of the way -just a tiny bit. but instead we picked our luggage up and squeezed in between while they both watched. This may be a petty comment but we left at 7:00am and were in a hurry and this hotel wasn’t cheap.

Very short stay for a college visit. Self parking was not easy to find or marked, but staff helped us out. Convenient to Rice.

I oaid for a rate that included parking for 3 nights and when i selected on Hotel.com it increased the price accordingly. On checkout the Hotel refused to honor that and said it did not say parking was included. Told me i had to take it up with Hotel.com which was impossible to do as their virtual assistant lead to a deep end conversation. So they charged me double for parking

The room I picked out during reservation was not available. Offered me a free breakfast but wasnt noted in my account. I was told breakfast would be available at 6am but nothing was open until 6:30.

My stay was overall satisfactory. We had a few issues that fill shouldn’t be missed when staying at an elegant plac paying premium prices. Three lights bulbs was shot out. The cleaning staff should make sure everything in the room is in working order.
