I could not have been more pleased with my stay! I have already booked 2 more stays at this lovely hotel. The staff was phenomenal. Friendly, helpful, and kind. I was in Houston for care at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital and the staff made every effort to keep me comfortable and make every second perfect for me. The food is spectacular and the pool is wonderful. I cannot wait to go back!!

Once again, a flawless stay! They were super conscientious regarding my allergy (commercial detergent) issues. They remembered all of my requests from previous stays and exceeded all expectations. Great size room and convenient central location to all of the best Houston attractions. We’ll return soon.

The entire property was beautiful, the staff was amazing, the FOOD oh my goodness, it was incredible. I only wish the menu had just a bit more of a selection!! I would love to see what else they have to offer. I did notice some dusty areas of the room that look like they just often get overlooked, nothing out of control. I did find a long hair in the bath tub.. but, I know things happen!! Now, there was one thing I had actual issue with, and it was the shower. The rainfall shower head had absolutely no water pressure whatsoever, half of the holes in the shower head were clogged so water really only came out of one section. It was extremely disappointing!

The hotel felt very luxurious. The bar was excellent and the food was good. Loved the vibe of the old house. I was in an accessible room, which meant the bathroom wasn't as nice. The shower was cramped. It would have been nice to have towels at the pool.

I didn’t realize it was such a big property and traveling by myself with a heavy suitcase, I should’ve requested to be in the towers for ease. I stayed in the bungalows and it seemed far away, but it was incredibly beautiful and a fabulous bungalow! Jenny at the front desk truly was above and beyond in making me welcome comfortable and getting to know the property more.

This is our second anniversary staycation at this lovely boutique hotel, and they didn’t disappoint!! We were welcomed with sparkling wine at the front desk. Followed by fresh flowers, wine, a Happy Anniversary card, and a fruit and cheese tray in our suite! The staff was very attentive, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the food was delicious! I have a lot of dietary restrictions and the chef curated a main course to accommodate. I honestly can’t say enough about this hotel and I highly recommend it to one and all!

Amazing room, drinks and breakfast! Loved the pool, outside space, and amenities!

Super attentive staff, amazing breakfast, convenient location with access to transportation to and from MD Anderson. A comfortable stay in an architecturally and artfully curated property.

This hotel is very special. The front part of the hotel is a historic mansion which is gorgeous. The back part is a modern tower with an art gallery. Lots of attention to detail. Very comfortable. Luxury without being pretentious. We had a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Bungalows are so gorgeous! One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at years! Cocktails are also delicious! Have very few reasons to be in Houston, but would plan a trip just to stay in this hotel again!

The hotel is very pretty and the overall ambience is fantastic. The central amenities are excellent, with a restaurant, cool bar and club room with complimentary snacks and drinks. Also the shared facilities with the “Residence” (rooftop pool, fitness center and recreation spaces) really added to the value of our stay. There were numerous quirks to our room that were a little bothersome. The bed and pillows were not comfortable for us. There was no upright seating (small table or desk) in our suite. The coffee cups were undersized so we had to manage the spillage every time we made a cup of coffee(we did love the Nespresso coffee maker which we use at home, just needed larger cups). Also, the deadbolt lock on the room door did not work(and had never worked based on the misalignment of the striker and the plate) which made my wife nervous. For a nightly rate of over $500, these issues stood out to us.

The hotel, but if we have the sign on, that means we don’t want to be disturbed at all (unless it’s an emergency). But overall we liked it and would stay again.

An amazing stay! Super attentive staff all around - from the reception desk, to the restaurant staff, to housekeeping. Really a beautiful and convenient place to stay. All of my requests were met and all expectations exceeded. The general taste level of the property (artwork, decor, furninshings) are above and beyond. All of the additional amenities (readily available complementary beverages/snacks) were greatly appreciated.

I love this hotel, and will give it another shot. They can be overwhelmed during wedding season. Maybe too many events happening at the same time in the Saturday I arrived- two weddings and an art exhibit/concert. Super lovely, but my room was over an hour and a half late getting ready; and I had to really plead to get in at that time. And things a pricey hotel. Everything else about this hotel is great, and usually spot on- maybe just caught them at a bad time.

Everything. Love the marriage of the historical mansion with the modern high rise. It's immaculate (clean) and the staff is very friendly. And it never seems crowded so it's intimate and cozy. Nothing.

The bungalow was spacious and I felt very safe I was told via phone and messaging through booking that the bungalow I reserved including a soaking tub and shower. When I arrived I noticed there was no tub. I notified the front desk and was told I’d receive no price adjustment for their communication mistake but could comp my breakfasts, which they did. The Staff only seemed to believe me after I showed them the message conversation where their staff said I my bungalow would have a soaking tub and shower. The bungalow is not located on the property.

Don't stay in the bungalows. Only if you’re with a party or kids. The tower rooms are superb.

The staff at La Colombe d'Or are fantastic! Every guest is treated as if they are truly special. Many places say this - this hotel actually does this.
- 2/5
The valet walking us over just stopped at the car and handed me the umbrella and took off after gesturing for us to go through a gate. After having to find our room/bungalow the downstairs was nicely done but the upstairs walls were cracked in the corners and balcony that is one of the main selling points had a rotted wood door frame and the balcony had gaps where it was pulling away from the building. The upstairs main bathroom was poorly constructed and definitely not comparable to a 5 star experience. Main TV in the bedroom rarely worked and was blamed on larger technical issues. Again at this price range should impeccable, this place wasn't. The drinks at the bar were great however the service was a bit stiff and not an experience we'd want to repeat.

Wonderful stay.

We stayed in one of the bungalows. It was quiet and relaxing, and the kitchenette and living space were lovely extras that made it feel like home. The location is walkable to several Montrose shops and restaurants, but it feels tucked away in the neighborhood enough that you’d forget you’re in a large city near downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything. Super clean and elegant, with a great bar and restaurant. Staff is amazing. It's one of my favorite boutique hotels anywhere. I mean, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for.

We stayed here after our wedding. The hotel charged me again for a night stay after we had **already** paid via Expedia. I was able to get in contact pretty quickly, and they reversed the charge, but then charged me for valet services which we also didn't use. This took another several days to resolve. Overall, I would be very careful of their charges because it was a mess and I felt like they might have been purposefully dishonest.

It is a beautiful property, you feel that you are staying at a museum. The staff were very attentive and helpful and the room service was outstanding! I would love to stay here again in the future.
- 5/5
We stayed in the bungalows which are endearing and lovely.
- 5/5
Exceeded our expectations - we were upgraded to stay in a mansion suite vs a room in the tower, which felt too good to be true but we said okay - the suite was amazing, felt luxurious and we loved it BUT directly outside the Van Gogh suite there must be a staff hallway or closet immediately outside the door and you can hear it open and close fairly loudly because of course it’s an old mansion - my husband and I didn’t mind it, totally worth the noise but other people who are more sensitive to that may not enjoy that particular room.
- 5/5
Great place, would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Loved the Bungalows

This is not a five star hotel, its a four star. Solid, clean, comfortable. Service was mediocre at best. Dont expect any bells and wistles. They do nothing to celebrate a special occasion.
- 5/5
If I could give the service six stars, I would, by far my favorite hotel in Houston. We stayed in the bungalows this time which has lots of space and very comfortable vets. The restaurant at the hotel is fantastic and Bar No 3 is always fun with great cocktails. The first time we stayed in one of the mansion rooms which was also amazing, have not tried a tower room yet, but I have no doubt the quality and service will equal the mansion in bungalow rooms.

Our teenaged son stayed with us for the last night only and they made sure the room was ready with a comfy roll-away bed which didn't take away much from the living space. Love the yummy "welcome" cookies and the minibar was top notch!. The mansion had a great bar with great service. The pool and gym were great. ONLY downsides were that the gym was REALLY hot and there was no air flow whatsoever. Also no gym towels to be found. In addition, there was some kids' super fancy birthday party happening in the common space by the pool the day we were checking out. Would have been akward and difficult to access the pool area or gym during that time. glad we happened to be checking out rather than trying to use the pool!!
