La Maison in Midtown an urban B&B

What we paid was overpriced for what we got, breakfast was disappointing would have liked an option but the staff were friendly, the place was nice but a bit dated, location was good, I have no real complaints except the price I paid wasn’t worth what we experienced

Beautiful stay with wonderful hosts! Highly recommended!

The place is lovely, it just needs some deep cleaning. The carpet in our room was old and the outside of the bath tub was quite dirty. The light switches in the bedroom and bathroom need some cleaning. Over all it was a pleasant stay.

The staff were so friendly and inviting. The room was beautiful, loved the antique furniture! We loved how it felt like a home away from home! Tony was so friendly and helpful! Chef Joseph cooked an amazing breakfast! We had to leave earlier than breakfast is usually served, but Chef didn’t hesitate and offered to cook early. Can’t say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back!

We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. The owners are so hospitable and the place such a delight. Loved the generous breakfast and ambiance- great parking as well!

I was pleased to find we were supporting a black-owned, woman-owned, and privately-owned business. I will 100% look to stay here each time we return to Houston.

We were here for a 2 day stay for a wedding and were completely happy with La Maison. From our arrival greeting and check in with Ms. Tommie, to our large and quiet room, to the Urban High-Tea with Ms. Tommie, one owner - Ms. Sharon, and her sister, and to our delicious breakfasts we couldn't have been more pleased. They were so nice, the location is very central (with parking too), and we were very comfortable. We will definitely stay again when in Houston!

After staying here, we will never use a hotel in Houston again. It was very quiet. The staff were exceptional. The breakfast was incredible. Everything about this little spot was perfect. My wife continues to want to go to Houston just so we can stay there again. She left a pair of shoes accidentally and the owner even shipped them back to my wife. You don’t get that level of service at a hotel. I would give this place 10 stars if possible.

Our room was spotless, quiet and classy! Straight out of a magazine. It was stocked with all the amenities you would need including extra bath robe, extra pillows, towels etc. Private parking lot so no wasting money on a parking lot across the street like most places around town. The chef made an excellent breakfast! Do not skip it! The whole property and staff is so welcoming! Like you are coming home! We will definitely be back! EXCELLENT STAY!

The property was immaculate, the rooms were sophisticated and beautiful. It was quiet and very restful. The two ladies who own and manage La Maison are hospitable and gracious. Unfortunately, our schedule did not permit us to enjoy breakfast or high tea, but hopefully we can return when we have more time.

The breakfast was fresh and delicious. How everything for breakfast was set up was amazing. Our whole experience from checking in and checking out to the extra snacks, wine in the evening were top notch. We will definitely be back.

La Maison is perfect. Absolutely beautiful design and decor makes this a very welcoming and comfortable stay. The staff greeted me warmly, accommodating my special requests (foam pillow). I felt like a guest, not just another customer in a bed. And the breakfast was fantastic. La Maison in Midtown will always be my address when I am in Houston.

The staff was very friendly. The room was nice. Not huge, but enough space. The private bathroom was nice as well. We weren’t able to stay for breakfast (during govt. shutdown and long check-in times) but were provided with some on the go options which was nice. We would stay again!

Our stay at La Maison in Midtown was everything we needed! We were greeted warmly on arrival and were given all of the info we needed. Our room was spacious, well kept and spotlessly clean. We had the breakfast on each of the 3 mornings we stayed, and they were all different but equally delicious! Staff were helpful & friendly throughout! La maison was perfect for our 3 night stay, good access to the tram (within 10min walk) and easy, free parking - would absolutely recommend to anyone who is considering booking!

Customer service excellent

Just about the most comfortable B&B that I have ever stayed in! We had a spacious room (203b) that was thoughtfully and beautifully furnished, with a large bathroom. We enjoyed a warm welcome from the owners and staff, a complimentary glass of wine in the evening, and delicious breakfasts. The common areas were very inviting, and parking was easy, located immediately behind the building. The midtown location was very convenient for Houston’s outstanding art museums and also for extremely good neighborhood restaurants.

My man and I booked this as a staycation for one night during Breezy Bowl XX and our stay exceeded my expectations. The owners and staff made our stay comfortable relaxing and memorable. The suite was spacious, clean, and well decorated. We had two bathrooms with jetted tubs and rainfall showers and our favorite was the wraparound porch with rockers. We even had a customizable breakfast of strawberry banana pancakes, bacon, and eggs prepared by Chef Joseph. My man says it was "Bomb". I have raved about it to friends and colleagues and definitely plan to stay again.

This bed and breakfast offers a charming and inviting atmosphere. The French-inspired design is tastefully implemented throughout the establishment. Guest rooms are generously sized, and the bathrooms are both clean and spacious. We highly recommend considering this property for your accommodation needs.

The place was very clean and you could walk around parts of the city nearby, like if theres a concert at warehouse live it’s less than 10 minutes walking. The hosts were very nice and communicated early enough to make plans, asking if we wanted a fresh breakfast or continental, room cleanings, how to get in if they were not there. They were awesome!

It was a nice property. Easy to check in. The bedroom and shower were large. Breakfast was great.

Very cozy hotel with amazing home cooked breakfast options. Staff is kind and friendly. Got a nice balcony view right over the street which was a bonus (thick curtains to cover the balcony doors and windows to keep anyone from seeing inside). Overall I had an amazing stay and I’d love to stay again!

From arrival to departure, we were so pleased. Directions were very clear as to our check in. The off street parking was very nice. We loved the beautiful parlors. Our breakfasts were delicious and prepared by a friendly chef. The room was very spacious and so pretty as was the bathroom. In a heartbeat we would stay again!

I loved this BNB. It was located close enough to downtown to be accessible yet far enough from the hustle and bustle. The staff was warm and welcoming, breakfast tasty and rooms lovely and comfortable. I would definitely go back.

It was a great B&B if you don’t mind being in the city.

Lovely house. Location convenient for driving to places. Local streets didn't feel too safe after dark walking. Great service and breakfast and Gloria Latin Restaurant nearby. Struggled to understand the older shower/bath operation without standing in the shower with reading glasses and one or two minor maintenance issues.

Amazing little gem tucked into Midtown Houston. Thanks to the chef, my dietary needs were met.

We had a one night stop (room 203B) before starting our road-trip and La Maison was perfect for this purpose. Room was very comfortable and clean. Our only issue was with road noise and persistent loud music until the early hours of the morning. Breakfast was very nice and sent us on our way nicely.

Very friendly staff, especially Chef Joseph. Felt like a very traditional southern stay in a rustic b&b. Breakfast was good. Aircon was a bit noisy but other than that, room was fine.

It was great to be greeted by Sharon as she opened the door as we walked in with our hands full. Sharon was amazingly kind, sweet, and welcoming. The room was clean and quaint. The homemade breakfast by a Chef was both delicious and unexpected. Red velvet peach/strawberry pancakes, eggs, and Turkey sausage. With your choice of juices, coffees. There was also a choice of a continental breakfast. Another unexpected feature was a social hour with wine of your choice. It was a great stay and definitely would stay again.

Truly enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom. Cannot get anything better than the breakfast. However, the hotel is not within walkable distance from the place I went to.

Feels like home

Check in was very simple. We arrived early and were able to check in 2 hours ahead of time. The room was decorated beautifully and the balcony provided a great view. Breakfast prepared by the host was the chef’s kiss to an enjoyable weekend. Would love to come back.

Lovely place. Very friendly hosts and staff. We were initially afraid that we might be too far from the city center for convenient sightseeing. Shouldn’t have worried - it’s close to the metro and there are plenty of things to do, see, eat etc within 10-15 min walk.

French Quarter vibe, with lovely common rooms. Our suite was great, large room, balcony, and large bathroom. Decor was very nicely done, continuing the French Quarter feel. Breakfast was made to order for us, as I have some food issues. Very accommodating. Really nice property.

Th e rooms are beautiful- had a balcony to enjoy the sunset. Glass of wine at the end of the day and a wonderful breakfast to begin! My hosts made great suggestions for places to eat and shop. I will be back!

First time to stay at La Masion but it won’t be my last. This boutique hotel just outside of downtown Houston was quiet, clean and exceptional service. I had no idea breakfast was included until I arrived when Sharon, the owner and manager ask if I would be having breakfast the following morning. Chef Joseph’s breakfast was wonderful and great start to my busy day of client meetings. The hospitality, location, service, atmosphere, were all wonderful. I’ll be back.

Such a gem, we will definitely be staying here again! The rooms were large and clean, loved that they all seemed to have balcony access! Room 203B was very private and cozy. The 2nd-floor conference room had water and coffee for when we first got up, then we went down to breakfast and Chef Joseph treated us beautifully! My only request is more vegan options, like vegan sausage. Parking was super easy and free. We were able to walk to some excellent dining options, and it was easy to get a Lyft/Uber. Thanks for a great stay!

Our room and all its amenities were great, really comfortable, and it was very quiet at night. Its location in midtown was great, as it’s a little further away from the city centre (which was very corporate and not very interesting). The owners of the b&b were very polite and kind. The breakfasts were amazing - The dish being served for breakfast changes daily, and is fresh cooked in-house. We had some really great food during our stay (blueberry pancakes, quiche, waffles). The B&B isn’t situated too far away from the metro which was quite convenient for us as we were visiting without a car. There were also some nice bars and restaurants located within walking distance. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Houston.

The La Maison is a quaint, beautiful little property with charm. The rooms and bathroom are spacious and comfortable. The extras provided in the room and the home made breakfast in the morning make the trip relaxing and enjoyable.

The rooms were decorated up with nice linens and pillows. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast every morning was very good! They asked if we had allergies to foods or something we didn’t eat. Paid attention to all the details. The lady running it was very polite. She would ask what our plans were for the day and gave recommendations. When we are back in the area we will definitely be staying there and recommend it to our friends and family. And

I’m very happy I opted to stay here rather than a chain hotel, as the location and amenities were exactly what I needed for my trip. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the porch rockers, too. I would stay here again if I was in the area. It felt a lot more chill and quiet than a regular hotel.

La Maison is a beautiful building. Nicely renovated and clean. My room was very nice. Light colored carpet could have used spot cleaning. Hall carpet was great. Breakfast was great the first day and ok the 2nd. I think they should give you 2 options. I wasn't crazy about grits. I guess i could have asked for another option. Staff was nice.

This is a lovely property with attention paid to personalized breakfast, great instructions about everything in the room and access to the building. We admired the building construction layout AND the interior decorating.

Not a big reader but felt like lounging in the comfy library and reading about an essential part of our American history. And the happy hour “tea time” was a perfect start to the evening!! Breakfast very good!!

La Maison was a lovely place to stay. The staff made me feel like I was at home and they were so friendly. The breakfast meal was great. Unique in the fact that we arrived late and our keys were waiting for us inside. The room was nice with a lovely bathroom which had a great sink and storage. There was a jetted tub but no handrails so I didn't dare use it. Complimentary coffee and juice and an "urban tea" which meant wine and cheese in the evening hours. Parking was also included. The place was decorated in the French Style and the place was warm and cozy. I would stay there again!

The B&B was beautiful and the room was perfect. The decor, bed, towels down to the bathrobes were all first class and luxurious. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the breakfast was restaurant quality delicious. The location was also perfect. If going to Houston and want to treat yourself to something upscale this has to be on your short list.

Our room had a comfy king bed with desk/chair, addt. chair, TV, closet and nice size bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub with shower. Iron/board, hair dryer, and robes were furnished. Location in Midtown of Houston, great place to stay for all downtown events, a short 8-10 ride to downtown, we UBERed... Very welcoming cook the next morning for breakfast, came down earlier in the morning for coffee (Keurig, coffee, creamer) then told the cook when we would be down for breakfast. He was ready when we arrived. The cook served us eggs, bacon and waffle, coffee, orange juice and cranberry juice. Again, breakfast is included, gave the cook a nice tip! My wife and I were very pleased for find this gem!

Genora was there to greet us personally and the amenities were great. I highly recommend staying here rather than in a big-box hotel as the attention they give you is next level. Great, homemade breakfast the next morning, too. What's not to like?
