- Exceptional hospitality from the hosts, Sue and Troy
- Delicious and varied breakfast

Room air conditioner not working. Had to give us a fan. Awful and if booking thru a booking place they tell you they can't do anything about the room charge cause you paid through them.

The property charged $430 more than the cost Expedia quoted me when I made the reservation. This was to cover resort fees that were not disclosed when making the reservation.

Highly recommended! Apartment was so much more than expected (make sure to bring some cooking supplies (S&P, Oil, Etc) if you plan to cook. The property was beautiful and everything was convenient! We didn’t eat much on the property (it’s not inexpensive), but poolside snacks and drinks were great. Be aware there is $99 resort fee each night you stay. With all that said, if you are prepared for the above, it was a fantastic vacation & a beautiful spot! Highly recommended!

Understaffed, long lines for food/drinks, requests ignored ie feather allergy brought to attention at check in 4 hours later when room was ready all beds had feathers. AC broke in one room, had to call multiple times for the engineer to come out, blender non working requested a new one that never arrived.

The staff was amazing well valetet and the bellsman. Tbis was my first visit to South Carolina so im trying not to be judgemental when i say this, I was absolutely charged at the extreme price even after booking through expedia. The lady at the fronq desk told me $890 was for incidentals after i was already cjarges $800 plus through expedia and told i only owed resort fees at Wild Dunes. I am so disappointed with this visit

Great location great restaurants. Only negative was the amount of entitled people there. However it goes with the territory when you are among 10 million dollar homes it comes with the area.

The resort has grown since the last time we were there and is lovely. There are multiple pools and beach access point as well as several places to eat. The food was pricey and OK but not terrific. The staff were all very friendly and wonderful. We did have some issues with our room. We thought we were booking a room in the residences at Sweet grass with a kitchen, but turns out we only had a fridge. It is very unclear on the hotels.com website. The beds were hard as a rock so my wife and I were not able to sleep well and the showers have no water pressure, but that is not unusual in a large resort. The room always felt damp, including the carpeting, even though we left the AC on. Would have preferred floor to carpet. For the price we paid we expected a more comfortable room. I did get a massage at the spa and had a great experience. There are lots of places on the grounds to sit and relax and enjoy a drink or a conversation or a fire pit. We will probably return again.

Property was very well kept. We visited the week of 9/7/25. Was pretty empty for the most part, we happened to get lucky. House cleaning, was not consistent. Parking was a bit of a pain. We managed to get a “free” spot 3 of the 5 days. It’s ridiculous you are forced to pay $35 for valet parking, it’s frustrating to deal with this if you are on vacation. That said the pools were really nice and the 2-3 meals we ate at the resort were very good. If you plan to visit Charleston, bear in mind the traffic into town can be annoying. I’d go back again.

Amazing Place for a Family Vacation, there’s hidden charges so be sure to ask about the details. We found out about several daily charges like “$72 daily resort charges” that did not include anything else that we requested or utilized while staying there.

Location was great. Literally 4 minute walk to uncrowded beach. Lots of pools and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a relaxing beach resort vibe and close enough for trips to Charleston historic sites. They had 3 different EV chargers, but none worked. Prices were too high, including overpriced food options.

Love this resort . We stayed here 2 years in a row and will definitely be back . Wild Dunes and isle of Palms one of our favorite places to visit
- 5/5
Tip for families on a ‘budget’: Our family of 5 spent $100 plus for on property lunch or dinners without alcoholic drinks - even just ordering burgers and chicken fingers. Lyft & Uber price gouge in the area - 2x what we pay in Ohio. Most on property shops, restaurants, and bars close at 9pm. There are no lifeguards at the pools - if pool towels aren’t returned by 9pm you are subject to a $25 charge per towel. Minor issues - coffee maker didn’t work in kitchen, bath tub drain did not work, found leftover pizza in oven from prior renters.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at Wild Dunes. I found our suite to be very nice for a family of 6. My only knock would be to perhaps add to the seating options in the living room area. Everything else was excellent! Bring a wagon to transport your stuff to the beach if you’re staying at Sweetgrass or the Residences, and you should be good. Loved the convenience of beach service.

A great spot for a long weekend. Conveniently located to Charleston you feel worlds away when you are back on the resort nestled in a cabana at the adult only pool.

Everything was so clean, beautiful, and nice. Customer service was wonderful. We loved that you didn’t even have to leave the resort for anything if you didn’t want to. Great food, lots of pools, and the spa! The ocean access and view were amazing too! Will definitely go back again.

One of the nicest places I’ve ever been
- 5/5
Our rooms and the entire facility were beautiful and well maintained. My only complaint is that they removed my ability to charge purchases to my room the day before our departure. It made it difficult for my kids to buy ice cream, etc. They were forced to call me, and I was asked to inturrupt what I was enjoying so that I could walk to the ice cream shop and pay via credit card. Inconvenient, to say the least.

Resort overall needs updating especially for the amount of money you are paying
- 5/5
We have been coming to the Wild Dunes resort for over 4.5 yrs. My kids enjoy
- 4/5
Communal areas were great! Room/residence was just ok.
- 3/5
The resort was great for families-however, it is VERY expensive, and although we paid up front, there was a $900 charge at checkout for add-ons like using the pool towels ($100), parking fees that I was unaware of until they emailed me my confirmation AFTER paying for the stay, and other random cleaning fees, state fees, taxes, housekeeping fees (I had to ask for a broom as we cannot clean up ourselves) etc. I don't like unexpected charges after the fact, and so will NOT return here again.
- 4/5
Rooms need to be updated, but overall clean. Hotel lobby & bar are very nice. Tom & Jeremy are great bartenders! Pizza & ice cream shop…great little spots to eat on site.

We enjoyed our last-minte stay at WD for spring break. I am a single parent, so, did not want to cook/clean on break and this proved to be a great place for my teens to grab their own meals, venture around the safe property on their own and we all got some much-needed downtime. Our only issue was that the hot tub was so over-cholorinated that it bleached out all of our new swim suits!! Aside from that, I definitely recommend this property for families of all varieties.
- 2/5
I stayed here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday as a local. The staff is very unhelpful. It is hard to find your way around to get to your room and no one could help me! No one gave me the parking garage code so it was impossible to park for me and my guests. The amenities have weird hours. Also check in time is very late. For the price I was hoping for a much better experience. Would not recommend to friends or family!
- 2.5/5
Dirty walls, leak under sink, no hot water in kitchen, limited hot water in bathroom, debris and litter outside the balcony, filthy shower
- 4/5
This is a beautiful property and we had a great trip. The only thing is they are valet parking only, some people may not want to do that and like to be in control of parking their own vehicle. I didn’t think it was clear on the reservation that it was the only option.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained.
- 4/5
The property was beautiful. We had a wonderful time. We were taken back when we first got there at the fact that we could not park our own vehicle but had to use the valet parking which charged 35 extra dollars a day. I think parking your own vehicle should be an option and this will deter me from coming back.

Fabulous experience! Don’t stay here if you’re on a budget though.

A resort close to home. A great place to staycation!
- 2/5
Not much to saw and the trip was disappointing as they checked us into the wrong room and it took 3 hours to get it straightened out. Then our refrigerator was broke when we were given the correct room.

Lovely beach trip with kids
- 5/5
Accomodations. The positive and pleasant attitude of the staff. Especially the young guys were very pleasant and mature in handling challenging situations. Everything was good.
- 5/5
Love Wild Dunes, the boardwalk and pools are great for the kids to run around and play. Everything you need is right there, you don’t have to leave the property!
- 5/5
Booked thru booking, got to place , it was wrong.. but they upgraded me at no extra cost! Was very embarrassing but they took care of me 100%. Absolutely amazing place! I didn’t like how one room was like a condo and three 2nd room that joined was like a hotel room.
- 4/5
Overall good experience
- 3/5
Food on site was edible, but overpriced as well. Go offsite for food and you’ll not only pay less you’ll receive better quality food.
- 5/5
Love the convenience for families, great food and staff, very clean
- 2/5
Not enough space for adults at pool - few umbrellas poolside-beds very uncomfortable- AC was very loud-could have been complimentary coffee for the price and more toiletries provided. Parking was limited.
- 5/5
Everything was close by. We didn’t see breakfast but we ate lunch and it was good. We were upgraded to a better room but the toilet kept running. Very insignificant issue because the room was beautiful and clean. No formal complaint here just a mention. Loved the adult only pool. Was surprised children allowed in the hot tub tho.
- 4.5/5
Location and amenities Extra Long wait time at pizza, pools are not clean. People allowed to be in water with drinks, lots of sand in pool makes water dirty.

Everything Al was great

Location, amenities, friendly staff. Cleanliness, extra charges, limited allergy friendly food.
- 5/5
Awesome place!!!
- 4/5
The only disappointment was the lack of enforcement in the Adults only pool area. We saw no children in the pool,, but they were consistently present in the pool area. We love children, but wanted the peace of not having screaming children around us, as this was our 10th anniversary get away.

We go here annually and love everything about the resort. So family oriented and lots to do.

What a wonderful place to stay on IOP! We’ve been to the Charleston area countless times and enjoyed time at the beach in the past but Wild Dunes exceeds our expectations for all things vacation related. The resort is just beautiful, I couldn’t have ask for a better location. The restaurants closed a bit earlier than we would have loved but it was at the cusp of offseason. Would highly recommend for couples and families.

This is a beautiful and fun resort. My grandchildren love it and so do the adults! We have been there twice. We will definitely go again!
- 4/5
Our visit was nice beautiful resort , beach was nice and flat for walking , grounds were also beautiful . only draw back was limited access to restaurants although our trip may have been early for the season it was not explained to us prior to our trip. rooftop bar was booked for private events and the plaza below our room at residents was noisy to the point we had to close our patio door, this coming from a retired couple with no kids The pool was huge with plenty of seating and the families were having a great time but again noisy for us. The food at Coastal Crust and Coastal Provisions were very good. Our next stay would be at the Boardwalk for the adult pool and more quiet setting. All being said we hope to return with our understanding of what will make our stay even better knowing what part of the resort is best for our needs.
- 5/5
Loved this location! Have 2 kids who loved the easy access to the beach and pool. Easy walkable dining options, our suite had a washer dryer combo which was clutch when staying at the beach with kids!
- 5/5
Always a top notch stay. We live the Sweetgrass residence buildings two bedroom. Plenty of room for six people. Amenities are five star and the staff is incredibly helpful.
- 2/5
The rooms were in dire need of paint. Rust on railings. Finish off tables. First building we stayed in was under construction and hall a mess. Black mold on wall. Was able to move room but a pain.

We chose Wild Dunes because we wanted a 2 bedroom condo while visiting friends over New Years with our adult son. Our room was nice with a kitchen, outdoor porch and 2 bathrooms. The beds were a little hard but overall the room was clean and comfortable. We paid extra for the ocean view although I’m not sure it’s worth the extra big price difference. The resort was very busy with families with young kids all over. We never used the pool because it was very crowded with kids but it also was too cold outside for us anyways. At times, the resort atmosphere reminded us of a ski resort-they were blowing fake snow, lots of fire pits and lots of children running around. Place was expensive, parking can be a challenge and the hallways looked pretty tired. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back as the rooms and the people working there are nice.
- 5/5
We had a beautiful room, and the resort was gorgeous and clean!
- 5/5
Great place to recharge the batteries. If you are not driving, very limited to restaurant and things to do on property.
- 5/5
We had the greatest time l.
- 5/5
The property was very nice, you can easily and quickly walk to the clean and family friendly beach or lounge by their many pools. Warning they charge $25 for the use of their pool towels which was a surprise. Staff was friendly and helpful. I do have to say we had a clogged tub and it took us notifying the front desk twice before it was cared for, but other than that it property was clean and very nice. We will be visiting again.
- 4/5
Expensive, but very nice property. Excellent staff. Had an issue with our bathtub and had to go buy new toiletries because they couldn't get them after hours. Otherwise, a great stay. Fun pool and other amenities. Wish we could have stayed longer.
- 2/5
Too expensive
- 3/5
Great property for a family vacation. Not very accommodating when it came to special requests. We were looking to be close to friends and I put in a request a couple of weeks before and we were put in completely separate buildings and at check-in they could not do anything to accommodate our request.
- 3/5
In my opinion it is over rated. The resort is good for a chill vacation but not really for kids. Dining there is pricy and the beach was not clean. The resort is missing kids activities or water park or play grounds for the kids, only the kids have swimming pool. It will be nice if more items will be included in the cost of resort as free beach seats, umbrella or at least breakfast. I advise visitors to bring their own food as dining options are limited.

Stayed for a wedding. - no map given of property - each person working had little knowledge of the property and amenities- room was definitely smoked in - hair dryer and tv and safe non functional- no breakfast dining options -

Nice, quiet and clean property! Walkable to the beach with wonderful views of these magnificent beach homes. Tons to do on the property from swimming to fire pits to dining. Will be back for sure!
- 5/5
We were there during Hurricane Ian and teh Staff went above and beyobd and we had a Fabulous time!
- 5/5
From the moment I walked in, it was so enjoyable! Staff, resort and all of the wonderful amenities have made this a destination I will be returning to again and again!
- 4/5
Staff was great. As is the beach and pools. Room was ok. Needs to be repainted. Looked like it had taken a beating. Burger Bar doesn’t have burgers…only had hotdogs or a buffalo chicken wrap
- 3/5
The door to the bathroom and the door to the toilet did not close. We ate breakfast at the cafe where burritos were inedible at $12 each! The bar at the pool was understaffed. Valet parking was not mandatory, but free parking was discouraged. spent a fortune in tips coming and going to Charleston. We assumed prices at the spa included tip and were surprised at the automatic 20% charge. Felt nickeled and dimed the entire visit. Would not recommend, would not go back
- 5/5
Loved everything about the place and I’m hard to please . Just keeping it real
- 3/5
Sheets were too small for queen bed. Spider web and spider around one of the beds. TV sound was intermittent and the TV screen was very small. Was not up to Wild Dunes usual standards.
