The hotel receives mixed reviews, with guests praising its prime location and stunning views of the New York and Jersey City skylines, as well as its proximity to public transportation. However, the hotel is criticized for its aging property, worn-out rooms, and inconsistent service, with some guests reporting rude and unhelpful staff. The hotel's breakfast is also frequently cited as overpriced.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Aside from a few members of the cleaning staff and one or two front desk employees, our presence was met with indifference. We were traveling with a service dog and found ourselves repeatedly having to justify his presence nearly every time we entered the hotel, which became both frustrating and uncomfortable. Communication was also a major issue. Calling the front desk from our room was virtually impossible, as no one ever answered. On multiple occasions, I had to go downstairs in person, only to find several staff members behind the desk with no guests waiting in line. While the location is a definite advantage, the level of service does not justify the price. For a similar cost, I would recommend staying in Manhattan, where you can find much better customer service and hospitality.

Overall, it is a very good, comfortable hotel with a nice amenities and a great location for getting into NYC. Decently updates and very friendly staff. The parking / valet situation is a big challenge - and need a lot of lead time to get your vehicle and plan accordingly. We had so much stuff due to a wedding that offsite or self park was a challenge.

Valet at entrance in a busy area like the location of this Hyatt was really helpful ($53 for one night as of 6-5-26). The hotel is updated with a large dining room overlooking the Hudson River and downtown NYC which is superb. The room was very modern/updated, very clean, well lit, lots of outlets and lighting options, see through refrigerator so you don't have to open the door to see its contents or forget your leftovers. My room was quiet and comfy. This is a FANTASTIC option to staying in New York if you are sightseeing. The NJ PATH (micro train that takes you across the Hudson and into many different areas of NYC) is within 100 feet of the entrance to the Hyatt and the Ferry is another block down the river walk. The Jersey City Paulus Hook neighborhood is safe (I've worked here for 20 years), lots of restaurants, food trucks, lovely river walk, piers extending into the Hudson with wonderful NYC views, great breeze off the river, good pricing for rooms. I highly recommend.

Nice room perfect location

When I looked for available parking, I was happy to see it was available at the hotel- only to find out it was valet only, and that my car would be parked two blocks down in the Whole Foods parking garage. This was another reason I chose this property, for its on site parking, but that wasn’t the case.
- 4/5
Our only issue was that we called to ask if we could check in early, and were told it was no problem. This lead to us heading there early, then when we got there we were informed about the early check-in fee. To be clear, my issue is not the existence of the fee, rather my annoyance is that we called to inquire and were not informed of the fee over the phone.

El desayuno es un poco car y hay opciones mejores a poca distancia del hotel donde se puede tomar desayuno mas barato y mejor. Aunque el buffet de desayuno es bastante completo

Walls are very thin can hear everything in halls and other floors. Parking situation was a mess but made best of it.

Had a flat tire the evening before check-in. Holiday weekend, so I could not get it replaced before the next day in the evening. I missed the cancellation window by less than one day. Wouldn't let me cancel for a refund, move the date, or extend any credit of any sort. Buyer beware. Sad part is we are still planning a trip to the area but we will never book with Hyatt again.
- 4/5
Everything was clean and well-maintained. Staff was friendly and quick with checking us in.
- 5/5
We had an awesome and truly relaxing stay. The location is excellent—close to everything we needed and perfect for unwinding. The overall atmosphere made our visit feel effortless and enjoyable.
- 5/5
The rooms were so clean.
- 3/5
Their pool has been under renovation for over a month and there was no notification or was signage visible when checking in. Our kids were very disappointed to find out the pool was closed due to renovations. The parking situation was awful and very inconvenient when we attempted to check in. The parking should be better designed to accommodate several vehicles when checking in, as opposed to one lane and only space for 1 vehicle when dropping off or picking up guests at the front entrance. View was great, room was spacious and breakfast specials not attractive enough for guests.
- 5/5
I had second thoughts till I actually showed up here but once I reached here I was more then amazed. This is once in a lifetime property. Am beyond happy that i stayed here.

Fantastic location with one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, which itself is worth an experience. The hotel is clean, stylish, located conveniently for walks or a train to NYC, and well equipped with amenities. Parking can be an issue at this particular location, in which case one option is to park on floors 4-7 at Whole Foods a block away.

Disappointed that the only brunch options were a few things on the menu--we'd thought it was Mothers Day brunch --but the menu, overall, was solid, and intriguing. Good variety of choices for various levels of appetite and various tastes-pasta, meats, salads, fish, sides, sandwiches. Our meals were very very good! The 4 of us agreed the sticky rice appetizer was the best we'd ever had. Sushi was also very good- fresh and tasty. Filet was done perfectly. Honestly don't remember what else everyone had, but we all really enjoyed our food. Sides were also excellent. Asparagus was cooked properly-still green, a tiny bit of crunch. Truffle tater tots were one of my favorite things I've eaten in a long time, and I don't even love truffle. Mild flavor,& crispy. Delicious. Cocktails were well-done. Coffee was kind of gross---super-weak. The after-meal espresso, tho, was excellent -strong and frothy. We don't do dessert often, but we made a great choice ordering here. The chocolate gelato was honestly some of the best we'd ever eaten. The little donut dessert-served on a cute "Ferris wheel-" type server, was AMAZING. Love the view from inside as well, from almost every seat in the place. Bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, even through a very busy Mothers Day rush. Staff, from check-in to exit, was professional and friendly, and professional-looking.

Location to port bayonne My issue isn't with the room. It's Being charged 2 times and I can't get anyone to help. I've been sent on phone to accounting and front desk. I've sent voicemails and sent emails. Noone at all will try to help with this. I haven't been acknowledged at all, so I had to file a complaint with my credit card company. I even have proof of both payments paid. 1st through Booking .com when I booked it in July 2025, then they charged again on May 1,2026 after my stay April 28,2026.

Night light under the bed was faulty and wouldn't turn off for ages and the phone didn't work but other than that, everything was great. Clean towels daily and fresh bottled water and a great view of Manhattan.

The staff were amazing! The view was perfect to see the city and the Statue of Liberty! My daughter was in awe and it made a world of difference in our trip! Another cool thing was the pool table and shuffle board table in the lounge. The kids had so much fun.

The hotel was excellent. However, the quality of the food at the restaurant was horrible. I would definitely stay at the hotel again. The service was phenomenal. I wouldn’t patronize the restaurant though.
- 3/5
The night view was stunning, and the bedding was exceptionally clean and comfortable. However, the crane floating on the water produced eerie noises throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. In addition, the parking lot was extremely far away, leaving valet parking as the only option - and even then, there were no in-and-out privileges, which was very inconvenient.

Parking is still guest responsibility.

It does have a nice view of New York. The main areas, rooms and hallways are clean. First, front sliding doors were not working, elevator going up not working, staff service for breakfast à la carte was very slow. The pool is rather small. Finally, a staff member in the bathroom acknowledged using the last paper towel and did nothing about it.

Parking situation was horrible. When charged an enormous fee for valet, yet after following their verbal directions, still had to wait HOURS for car to be retrieved even after paying for it ahead of time!! Closet self parking was three blocks down the street and it was cold which is why we chose valet. Also, at these rates, there was no room service or at the very least, breakfast buffet since there was no room service!
- 5/5
We checked out at 11:56am and did not get our car until 1:20pm. The very RUDE valet guy, they have to walk 3 blocks and 7 flights of stairs to get the cars. The whole valet process is difficult when you first drop off your car to when you get it back.

A standard 3* experience. Decent room, good gym. Bar area with views of Manhattan across the Hudson was the best feature. With two exceptions, staff were impersonal and unwelcoming. Request for a late check out was met with a ‘we’re completely full’ response despite very good room availability showing on line. Breakfast buffet poor value. Go to ‘Maman’ round the corner.

Very disappointed with the false advertisement of a heated pool. My family booked this hotel specifically because it claimed to have a heated indoor pool. The pool was unbearably cold and we could not enter. When I called the front desk to simply ask if the pool temperature is regulated because we thought perhaps it needed to be adjusted, the rep answered combatively stating they are by the river and the pool is not a hot tub. That response felt very short and rude when they could have simply stated it could not be heated. In a cold hotel in the dead of winter, their pool is useless unless you want a cold plunge.
- 5/5
You can beat the views of NYC. Splurge for the water view you won’t be disappointed- the promenade is perfect for a quiet stroll or romantic walk after dinner . Hotel is close to shops and restaurants all walkable. We will be back for a quick overnight stay.

Fantastic stay at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. The view of the Manhattan skyline is absolutely magnificent—especially at night and in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.

- 1/5
Great location but service is terrible. The rooms are specious but beds are uncomfortable with loud AC wakes you up on the middle of the night. My son the middle schooler was grabbed and pushed by the hotel staff/security for trying to get back in to our room. My boy forgot his key that's something that kids do forget keys and 2nd floor entrance has key card access, well the cleaning crew were kind enough to help the kid to get in but security put their hands on the child. State of NJ law prohibits putting hands on people let alone children. The manager was notified and went in to argument mode without even talking to his security. No apologies were offered and no regrets were shown. Terrible staff terrible service, not safe for children!

The hotel was amazing, the staff were super nice, the neighborhood was safe and the view was perfect! Was super easy to travel to NY with PATH which was literally 20 steps from the hotel. 10/10

Additionally, I misplaced a very sentimental personal item during my stay. I attempted to contact management for assistance, but I was met with unhelpful customer service from the operator, Alice, and despite leaving a voicemail for the manager, I have not received any follow-up. This has been extremely discouraging, especially given how meaningful the lost item is to me. I’m hopeful that someone from management will reach out to help me locate my item and address these concerns. I have always valued staying at this hotel, and I would appreciate the opportunity to have this experience made right, whether through assistance in retrieving my lost property or consideration for a future stay.

Rating this place 1* because I asked to cancel my reservation due to extenuating circumstances. My mother had a fall and I needed to stay home and take care of her instead of going on this work trip. I provided a medical record to help bolster my request and the hotel still refused to make an exception or offer any compensation on my non refundable reservation. Their only option was a non refundable rate, so I had no choice. Extremely disappointed in Hyatt’s lack of humanity in dealing with this issue. I will never book another Hyatt property after this. Shame on them.

Big rooms that were so quiet at night. Amazing views of the Hudson River & Manhattan. Beautiful neighborhood. 5 mins walk to the ferry dock and right next to PATH station. WTC station 8 mins away. Nice gym. Fantastic location. But above all the best customer service ever, even on a long weekend. Highly recommend to anyone.

Self park is no where near the hotel. Check in was delayed almost an hour. Bar wasn't even open during the wait time of checking in. If you like convenience, this isn't the place

Great 4 nights, hotel location makes it very easy to get in to central NY either by train or ferry, felt like a safe area, amazing view from bar and our room had partial skyline view and Statue of Liberty in the distance, would definitely stay again, special mention to our waiter Andre, so friendly.

10/10!!! Right on the water which was perfect for morning/evening walks and very relaxing, inside was beautiful and so clean, service was amazing. PATH station was a few steps away and one stop from the city. Didn't do our research but would've flew to Newark instead of LGA.

This is the perfect place for visiting the area: best view of the NY skyline, perfect location for grabbing the PATH to quickly get anywhere in Manhattan; so walkable to every amenity, convenient to ferry for Statue of Liberty, parks, dining, shopping. The Grove street area is just min away and walkable. Loved it! So great for family stay with small children.

One of the best hotel and experience we got in our first trip to USA which was for 3 weeks. Only hotel in which the cleaning of room was done everyday and staff was seen happy and respectful. The hotel location is the best and very convenient to NYC. With a mesmerising view of Manhattan. Next time will definitely come and stay here.

Parking was a little distance away. Just a few blocks away and relatively affordable. Still great, given the territory. And the Manhattan views from the hotel were awesome.

Fantastic river view and can see manhattan. Right next to PATH.

Very nice view of nyc, peaceful, all restaurant staff are great especially Gabriel.

The hotel is the best location for going to NYC! The hotel is very nice, and clean. We enjoyed the stay!

Payed a little bit more for NYC view (as shown on their web site) - it was a rip off. Looking directly out the window was an apartment building and water, same as web site called "River View." Called front desk and they said if you can look anywhere out your window and see part of the city then considered NYC view. You can probably look out most of the windows and see part of the city.

I didn’t like that it stated breakfast and couldn’t have breakfast or room service cause someone bought out the kitchen and the complimentary breakfast was always gone from the workers for the event, there wasn’t a microwave to heat any food up and it also stated my room could sleep 6 but it wasnt so it wasn’t worth $2,068 and had to sleep on a floor and had to go out every morning to eat. I am very disappointed and upset

Unfortunately the service at the hotel was terrible, specifically check in. We reserved two rooms for three adults and three children. When we arrived at the hotel at 6pm (check-in time listed on the reservation was 4pm), the receptionist told us that the rooms were not ready and she didn't know when they would be ready. We were sightseeing that day and children were very exhausted. When I politely asked the receptionist to understand our situation, given that children were involved, and look for any available rooms, so we could rest, her response was that the check-in starts at 4pm with no guarantee when the room will be available and we would have to wait. We had lots of luggage which she offered to hold in the back, meanwhile gave us one key to access the pool while we wait. The one key she gave us worked only on the access door to the pool and no other access doors, including the main doors on the 1st floor to access the hallway to the pool or the gym where the bathrooms were (where we could change). So we kept dragging children back and forth asking staff and some guests to help us access the bathrooms to change the kids.Nightmare. Kids tried to enjoy the pool but were too tired and wanted to rest, which at that point my frustration was over the roof. I went to search for the manager. Floyd was able to find us rooms instantly. I wish I remembered the first receptionist's name because the level of disregard for customer service was shocking, attitude not fit for hotel.

Some of the late night and early morning staff on Monday and Tuesday shifts at the front desk were not friendly. Requested for water bottles, and they never delivered to our room. The property is good because it’s convenience to get to NYC. The parking is not easy and, it’s expensive.

I had a wonderful view of New York City.

Super nice and right on the river. The views from my window were amazing. I loved how close to the train station I was.. easy commute to the path train and to the oculus.

This is a great hotel. Nice staff at front desk. Great location

Beautiful views and easy access to Path. I was in Manhattan in 7 minutes.
- 3/5
It does score major points for the staff service. There was not one person whom I interacted with who wasn't helpful.
- 3/5
The room was poorly cleaned, as usual unfortunately for my experience with Hyatt in general. Otherwise no complaints, and view was great! Public transportation was right there as well!
- 5/5
A great view of Manhattan & the onsite restaurant was very good. Next door to the PATH gave easy access to the city.

Breakfast is really expensive and the bathroom light kept turning off on me. Otherwise it was a nice hotel. Smaller pool but the staff was nice.

Easy access to the PATH train and a short walk to Colgate dock for the ferry to NYC. Whole foods two blocks. You can park on the Jersey side for the State of Liberty.

The stay was excellent with options for breakfast and a number of great food locations close by. We traveled for GO Fest, and I would likely seek out another room at this establishment for more than one night of the festival were to return to Jersey City in coming years. It was a great time, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and the bathroom was well kept.

Location is convent and awesome views of the river from our room!

Hotel staff was super helpful. The view was spectacular. The proximity to the PATH train made getting to the city a breeze. The room was very luxurious.

What unique is that the toilet made noise all night long but because I already paid online so no refund doesn't matter I stay or not !! What a wonderful way to rob your guest!

This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and as always i enjoyed myself. The amenities, the staff, the surrounding areas, and the spectacular views, make for an amazing stay.

While I didn’t expect early check-in right after noon, I had hoped for at least some consideration given our situation. Better communication from the front desk would have made a big difference—especially since we were traveling with family and had just arrived from a long overnight flight. The room itself was in good condition, consistent with the standard I expect from other Hyatt Regency properties, but nothing particularly special about this location.

Lack of parking

Location is excellent for visiting NYC and Liberty State Park
- 5/5
Wonderful spacious room with a balcony and a gorgeous view of he NYC skyline. Visited he Statue of Liberty which launch was just down the street. Lovely young woman moved a few things around to get us in a perfect room. Dinner at the restaurant onsite was delicious. Would definitely recommend it highly.

Charged me for a second night when I had this prepaid, one night, cut and dry reservation. I let them know hours before checkout the second day when I received a link to check out again. Contacted them again when I received a second invoice. They let me know a manager was looking into it. Contacted me days later after I got a second security deposit, and $530 room stay charged to my accidentals card. Told me they did an investigation and felt the charge was justified because we had left "personal belongings" in the room. No one once had ever left me a message about things left in the room. I called the corporate number to talk to someone. THEY were very nice, and told me the only way they could ever even imagine someone acting that way is if someone left all of their things, or perhaps luggage in the room. Then, ironically, the hotel tried to say someone saw we left luggage in our room, and reactivated the room (without ever speaking to me and without authorization to use my card?) Anyway - this place is extremely disorganized and will try to lie to cover their own butts. Of course I was never there the second day, and there was no proof of us going back into the hotel, or leaving anything. Just don't bother. You could spend days fighting for your money back.

It was a very busy day, but the staff did a great job acknowledging and serving the many guests
