It’s a beautiful place to visit my only complaint was the hotel was under construction other than that I would definitely recommend it. And stay there again. Walking distance to the beach 🏖️ 👍

The staff and in particular Josef were extremely helpful . The room cleaning could have been better but the front desk staff took care of that. The breakfasts were EXCELLENT! Very good advice on restaurants given by the front desk staff. The pool was clean and inviting. Thank you!

Overall it is a nice property. It is located right on the main street, which is very convenient. The rooms are nice and larger. The bathroom is also very spacious. The beds are large and comfortable. Having fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room is very convenient. But it is an older property and has that typical smell. Perhaps replacing the carper will help solve the problem. The parking spots are very tight. Overall it is a fairly decent property.

The hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay. Although our room was not ready when we arrived, the staff made every effort to accommodate us and keep us informed. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a beautifully renovated room with a balcony and stunning ocean views. While the A/C had not yet been installed, leaving the balcony door slightly open kept the room comfortable, and we slept very well. The breakfast was okay. The location was lovely; walking distance to restaurants and the beach.

This place was okay. Nothing amazing or terrible. The place is being renovated so there was painting etc going on. Overall the staff was very kind and helpful.. except for one person that wasn’t helpful at all. Our room was a newly renovated room..but it needed some work still. The phone didn’t work, the shower was backing up, and there were ants everywhere. With that being said, the bed was comfy, the walk to the beach was easy, and breakfast was decent. It was within walking distance of some tasty food so that was nice. I didn’t take advantage of the pool or free parking but those were perks as well.

Pleasant stay, clean rooms, varied breakfast choices, though more fruit variety like berries would be nice. Rooms facing the pool are not soundproof; morning foot traffic, conversation by housekeeping staff and children in the pool are a downside for those who who want to sleep in.

Breakfast selection was great. Hot tub didn't work first couple of nights. It was hot, no bubbles. After hot tub was fixed, not that powerful. Pool/hot tub need good cleaning/scrubbing. Had to constantly as for pool towels to be restocked. Got 2 bedroom Suite - just looked like normal size hotel room. Ocean view? Not sure why it's listed like that - not close enough for ocean view. One day without notice - workers on balcony and covered our screen door with plastic to work on the building. Alot of construction and noise. Housekeeping gave us new towels, but didn't even make beds. Overall nice area.

​However, the experience changed significantly during checkout. When I went to the office to return my keys, I greeted the staff member on duty. Not only did he fail to acknowledge my "good morning," but his demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. I was met with an uncomfortable, judgmental look that felt deeply unwelcoming and biased. ​It is disappointing that such a pleasant stay ended on such a negative note. While the facilities and the initial service were excellent, the behavior of the morning staff was unacceptable and left me feeling unwelcome. I hope management addresses this to ensure all guests are treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of who is behind the desk.

Th hotel staff was great. Upon arrival we were told we didn’t have ac but they offered a refund right away, and kept us updated. They provided a fan. It wasn’t too hot so that was helpful. Only down sides the gym didn’t open until 8am (but run outside it’s a beautiful area) and they are doing construction so lots of stuff everywhere but didn’t bother us. A heads up would have been nice though. Will return when we come back to visit family. Great pool, breakfast and area!

Everyone at the property was helpful. The air conditioning was not working and although the people at the hotel agreed to refund me some money, booking.com was a pain to talk to and I never got my refund after calling 2-3 times.

The breakfast was awesome. The pool and hot tub were great. Everything was clean and well maintained.

The staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, clean, and safe. I appreciate they enforced the pool hours. The poolside rooms are worth it for the foliage and calming pool deck.

For the breakfast I wouldn’t say great, but it was not bad at all.

Construction work happening early in the morning and throughout the day. I had a work meeting and all they could here were the construction guys standing outside my room shooting the sh*t. Absolutely the worst.and no where were we notified that that's what it was going to be like we weren't discounted, nothing. Just went in thinking we could get some decent sleep. And I'm an early riser mind you!

Great location

Love this hotel! Nics pool and hot tub. Walk to the beach for sunset. Short drive to shops and the Cove. Breakfast was never too crowded.

Great small hotel close to La jolla

The breakfast staff was friendly and kept everything stocked. The location was wonderful, and we liked that the entrance was off the busy road. This made it very easy for us to safely get in an Uber as needed. The hotel is undergoing upgrades to the common areas and we are sure they will be done well. We will come back.

Staff were welcoming and efficient, I was provided with a room on a high floor, as requested, and parking was close and ample. I appreciate free parking, free Wifi, and free breakfast. Unfortunately the outdoor fire pits were in disrepair and covered over, so not accessible for guest use. Toiletries were exceptionally nice!

I forgot how noisy this hotel is due to the steel/ concrete structure plus the pavers which are just awfully noisy with suitcases and laundry carts, etc rattling over them all day. Definitely not a peaceful stay if you spend much time there. My biggest complaint is the linens. Definitely need a better laundry service: all the towels, etc are harsh and a dingy, grayish color. Very off putting! My favorite is the AMAZING breakfast! Such variety and quantity and all hot and fresh for the cooked food. Staff there were so hardworking and pleasant.

The property is lovely and the room was very comfortable, however, in my opinion, the hotel should invest in nicer towels and provide glassware, utensils, basic kitchen items for the suites. We have enjoyed there and hope that the management the towels etc as mentioned. They are terrible, to be honest. The food selection and coffee is great! thank you so much,

1. The room was very noisy, lots of street noise. We had to run the fan as white noise to be able to sleep. 2. The TV was not able to access Netflix or Amazon Prime streaming accounts. So, limited viewing options.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel. From the check in experience to the room itself, every aspect was perfect. I got a room for my elderly parents who were visiting and they loved it. They felt safe, welcomed, and right at home. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Exceeded expectations! Will be recommending this for all guests coming to La Jolla.

The dog walking location was on the street, which isnt great for small or nervous dogs. Was the very first thing my mother unfortunately complained about. Though I appreciate that it was grassed.

4min walk from the beach Got woken up at 7am by maintenance guy drilling and banging next door to us because the pool room was there and he had to fix something for almost 2hrs.

It was close to the beach and many restaurants. It was clean and comfortable. There wasn’t anything I really didn’t like .

Staff: lady at the front desk with pink hair could really improve her attitude. She was not friendly and when we requested to extend our stay, she seemed annoyed. When ever we walked by her she would be frowning. Other than her, the other 2 gentleman that worked the front desk were absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! Breakfast employees also kept the area pristine!!!!!

Room was ok tile base was falling off and laying in the floor and shower head wouldn’t stay up it kept sliding down the pole as you shower. Also construction and cleaners started making way to much noise way to early. Staff was nice tho

It’s an easy drive to all attractions and much better area than staying in SD. The only complaint would be soundproofing, since we were bext to the pool, but that’s minor and ok with us. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay in holiday inn. Good location and clean room. It provides free parking which is rare in La Jolla. The breakfast is good. The staff is friendly.

The television hand remote system was mysterious. Couldn’t get from channel to channel easily.

When we try to use the sofa bed. The sofa is dirty, it didn’t look like the sheet has been changed. There were food crumbs.

Loud and noisy all hours of the evening and staff and people awake from 6am and making tons of noise. Spent an entire week and didn’t get a decent nights sleep. And the hot tub looked as nasty as a swamp.

My 2 teen kids and myself enjoyed our stay, very close to shops/food and of course 5 min walk to the beach. Breakfast was fresh and lots of choices eggs/biscuit & gravy, bacon/ fruits. Etc. Our room was clean & comfortable bed. We already said, we'll be returning again. More than 5 🌟 stars.TU.

If you dont want to hear the traffic stay somewhere else.

The AC unit was terribly loud, couldn't sleep at all. Low water pressure, took a long time to shower. No creamer for the coffee...until we were leaving and another upset guest found the creamer carafes in the mini fridge on the other side of the dining area, nowhere near the coffee. It's like no one there cares about the customers experience. Won't go back.

Perfect place for a quick trip with my family of 4. Was upgraded to a bigger room on check in. The pool was nice with plenty of seating. The room was great. The breakfast was plentiful. And the parking is free!

recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations based on the amount I paid. The room had an unpleasant smell, and overall cleanliness was noticeably.

Close to Windansea Beach. Room was clean and comfortable but dark. Breakfast was good and staff were wonderful. Next time will book a room facing courtyard. Parking was included and refrigerator was a small but most adequate. Recommend!

Great location to spend time at the beach (5 min walk), visit nearby colleges, and eat at a variety of restaurants in La Jolla. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Lindsay. Towels are clean but not as white as other Hotels; so if bleached white towels are important to you then this is not the place for you. Standard complimentary hot breakfast. Husband was disappointed that they did not have hot Oatmeal, just instant Oatmeal. Overall we were happy at this hotel.

Room smelled bad - when I asked if we could switch rooms was told that the only other room was a downgrade - to only one queen size bed. No choice but to stay - room smelled like pinesol, mildew and urine.

Very easy walk (5 minutes) to enjoy the cliff side waves and sunsets. Very easy drive (10 minutes) to Children’s Pool. Beds are super comfortable, the room is spacious and clean. Would love to stay here again.

Overall great location. Solid included breakfast with ample options. Heated pool and grounds are great. The entrance driveway is difficult to find since the are no signs. Parking is tight but free and there is street parking if no spaces are available in the lot. Guests seem to have difficulty keeping cars parked in just one spot and often multiple spots are taken by one vehicle. Staff is overall friendly and helpful. Rooms are partially updated but a good size, some with ocean views. They are a very dog friendly and neighborhood is very walkable.

Manager is awesome! She is super nice and helpful. I'd say the property is "okay". Very clean. One of our beds had a large dip in the mattress which gave my Mom a bad backache. Close to the beach and other places to eat or visit. Breakfast was okay as well. Coffee always available at front desk.

Rooms were clean and large, breakfast was nice and there were restaurants close enough to walk to in the area. There isn't an elevator so if you come with large suitcases be ready to carry them upstairs.

We were extremely happybwith our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The pool was clean and cool. The hotel itself is a good basebfor exploring La Jolla and the rest of San Diego, which is what we use iit for. We would happily book again.

Hotel was clean; staff were helpful in addressing our concerns right away - we mentioned the sofa bed was a bit small for 2 young kids (6 and 3) and they immediately brought a cot for my second child so they could each have their own beds. Amazing location (20 mins to many tourist attractions; good for young families; pool was slightly heated and great hot tub for everyone. Good selection of breakfast foods. Reasonable price considering location and with free parking! Would highly recommend.

Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Shower has one of those detachable shower heads that you can use as a wand. The whole angle of the thing was off and annoying. Huge closet. I'd stay again.

Had a really good experience. Location was great and close enough to the beach that we could walk. Breakfast was one of the best continental breakfast experiences I’ve had at a hotel. Kids had lots of fun in the heated pool. The only negative was we could sometimes feel a bar when we slept in certain positions.

The employees were constantly working to keep the pool and the grounds clean. It was a great experience for us.

onstruction trucks blocking entry. Shower ceiling peeling, loud and lots of traffic noise. Sliding door isn't well insulated. Breakfast eggs wasn't cooked right, clumps of wet scrambled eggs. Lol whose cooking this? Pool definitely was not heated! Expect it to be cold. Overall okay. Will I stay there again? No.

Room was dark and smelled damp. Food wasn't hot and no hot water at coffee station in lobby. Water in workout area was empty on both days as well. Wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed here because of the location, but would highly recommend this to other family and friends. The rooms were a great size for a family of five, the breakfast was really good and had lots of options. My girls especially love the shower pressure in the showers.

Love the locatiin

Very close to beach. Only problem was HVAC unit in room was not rugged enough to warm the room. We had to request a space heater which worked okay. Room 115 needs an upgrade to the HVAC system.

This hotel is really wonderful. Very clean and well supplied, wonderful staff, gorgeous pool area and amazing breakfast. We will always stay here when we come to the area.

Major contruction right outside my room at 7:30 a.m.. I should have been warned about this durig check-in or offered a diffenet room by the pool or other area away from the contruction. There was no volume level I could put on the TV to make any dialogue hearable. Worst hotel experience of my life.
