Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the hotel's location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The hotel's pool and rooftop bar are also popular amenities. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the safety of the surrounding area, particularly at night. Additionally, the hotel's elevator system and valet parking have received criticism for being inconvenient and overpriced.
- Great location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Safety concerns in the surrounding area
- Inconvenient elevator system and overpriced valet parking

The concierge staff demonstrated exceptional efficiency and attentiveness, allowing early check-in. The valley staff were characterized by their cordiality and professionalism. In summary, the overall experience was highly satisfactory.
- 5/5
The gym was complete with a great view, the valet was easy and quick, the staff were friendly, felt safe and comfortable.
- 4/5
Fridge in room is designated for mini bar. Great for couples, not for families
- 4/5
the hotel takes some getting used to, the lobby is on the 80 th floor then you take elevators up or down to your room. the elevators take awhile to get there. 40 dollar oatmeal and no late morning room service are a bit extravagant and annoying.. very good location at 7 th and figeroa
- 3/5
My room wasn’t the same as advertised. I had the King suite room for 3 nights and the room was nowhere identical to what i had ordered. I also drove far away and was tired in the morning the lady at the front didn’t want to check me in and also assumed i was here for one night. She looked at me as if i didn’t had a stay here but the individials around other than the check in staff were great people. I wouldn’t come back again the venetian is a better hotel overall.
- 5/5
Great stay It was brilliant
- 5/5
Metro is just across the street from the hotel . Very welcoming and helpful staff. Highest building in LA, modern and safe.
- 2/5
The room hadn't been cleaned properly, and the staff were unfriendly. Furthermore, when I asked for a fork and spoon, they told me to come pick them up at the front desk instead of bringing them to my room. I have stayed at various five-star hotels, but I have never encountered anything like this; it was not a pleasant experience.
- 5/5
Tallest building on the West Coast! Amazing views when you check in on the 70th floor. Friendly staff throughout. Bar is fun with good drinks and views all day and night. King bed room with view was roomy and clean. You can connect you Netflix and others like it to the TV. Fridge in our room was full with items that are sensor controlled. I got charged for something I’m assuming because I either opened or closed the fridge or drawer to quick that something moved. They fixed the charge though. Cool place to stay in downtown LA. If you’re a guy and want to see a cool view to Dodgers stadium use the lobby restroom. Sounds weird but trust me it’s a cool view.

I love the breakfast every morning, a bit overpriced, but a great breakfast. Also a huge fan of the views you get with any room. Having the ability to see the Hollywood sign from your bed is amazing!

We were here for a comedy show in LA and I have to tell you I can’t wait till we come back ! We didn’t get to experience the restaurants since it was a short stay! But I was so impressed with the room and staff , thank you for your great hospitality it was much appreciated👏👏👏

We had a relaxing and productive stay. Services were great and the room was very clean and spacious. Thanks.
- 5/5
My room was exactly what I wanted and I appreciated all the little details that made the stay feel special. It perfect for celebrating my birthday. I also want to mention how professional and attentive the team was during my visit. Any questions I had were handled quickly with a smile, and it’s was clear I made the right decision on where I wanted to celebrate my birthday. Overall, this was one of the best birthday stays I’ve had, and I truly enjoyed every moment. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this hotel to friends and family looking for a great experience.

Excelente ubicación y atención
- 5/5
Very clean room and quite space
- 5/5
Everything was great at our stay
- 5/5
The hotel is perfectly located in Downtown LA’s financial district, surrounded by vibrant city life. The lobby, set on 70th a high floor, offers breathtaking panoramic views right from check-in, which immediately sets the tone for the stay. Perched on the 73rd floor, the bar is one of the highest open-air bars in the Western Hemisphere. We stayed in a double room on the 51st floor—spacious, bright, and very clean. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide a stunning 180-degree view of the city, especially beautiful at night. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom features both a shower and a bathtub. Service was excellent—staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout. The only downside was the high price of the in-house dining. We had planned to celebrate a birthday dinner at the hotel but decided against it after seeing the menu. Offering dining discounts for guests would definitely enhance the overall experience.

- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable and ready early for our arrival
- 5/5
The check in reception is on the 70 th floor which is different. The elevators took some time to understand it but we managed. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
- 1/5
The tub was dirty upon check in. Also the jacuzzi has mold and dirt around it . Definitely not what I expected.
- 5/5

I’m truly grateful for my stay at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The team went out of their way to accommodate my requests, and it genuinely made my entire weekend special. I loved the property and the overall experience. That said, a few of the front desk staff could work on their customer service, a little more warmth and attentiveness would make a big difference. Also, it would be wonderful if the hotel could add microwaves to the beautiful rooms. Thank you again to the staff who made my visit so memorable!
- 5/5
The staff and amenities are amazing. We enjoed Spire and the lobby bar, as well!
- 1/5
The layout alone is incredibly inconvenient. Every time we needed the elevator, we faced long lines and ended up waiting around 15 minutes just to go up or down. Something as simple as getting to the lobby or back to the room became frustrating and time consuming. Room service was even worse. We ordered dinner and were told 45 minutes, but it took over two hours to arrive with no updates. The next morning, we ordered breakfast early and were told it would take about two hours. We made it very clear that my fiancé has a severe allergy to cheese and requested none on the burritos. When the food arrived, it was covered in cheese and the side of bacon we ordered was missing. It then took multiple calls just to have the food picked up, and we were told a manager would contact us. No one ever did. Even after checkout, we received no follow up. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience with poor communication, lack of attention to detail, and no accountability. We left feeling disappointed and would not return.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay! Very impressed with this property: staff were wonderful, food (breakfast) was delicious, drinks were always on point, and the VIEW… priceless. Maria, the manager, was very nice in making sure our stay was nothing short of excellent. The waiters, Jose & Hector were also very professional and always provided us with excellent customer service. We will be staying there again.

We also had mixed experiences at La Boucherie where we went for breakfast three mornings. The first day the service was slow but the food was great. The second day the service improved, but the food was disappointing—overcooked and noticeably smaller portions than the day before. On the third day the service was slow again and the food was just okay. It was also difficult to get basic things like water, coffee refills, or condiments since the servers rarely came back to check on the table. Overall the hotel has great potential, but the elevator layout and inconsistent restaurant service made the experience less convenient than expected.
- 5/5

God Bless you and thanks for taking care for us. 🙏🌹🙏
- 5/5
one of the best!
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
The hotel views were amazing! The staff was friendly and attentive. Manny Ayala was awesome, he has great customer service! The hotel was within walking distance to everything we needed. I wasn't a fan of the elevator system or the fact that children were allowed to sit in the bar area, but other than that it was a wonderful stay. I would definitely choose this property again. Highly recommend!

Spotless
- 3/5
The room cleanliness was not great, hairs spotted in few areas in the bathroom. Absolutely nothing for amenities like q-tips, toothbrush etc. towels were old and shabby. Had some food in the bar but I had to send back my steamed clams because it was dry and tasted awful. Staffs were nice so that was saving grace.
- 5/5
Cleanness, convenience, great Christmas decorations, great customer service and great food ❤️
- 5/5
Always a pleasant stay. Staff are friendly, hotel is clean. Great amenities.
- 2/5
the room and the quality is good. But they charged me for wine and food that we did not consumed. Also they did not send me the receipt of the break down for the charge and I need to find out when I look at my credit card bill. That is very unprofessional.
- 5/5
Every thing was perfect. Checking in, parking valet, both dinner and breakfast was absolutely great. We were treated like royalty. We are definitely coming back!
- 5/5
The best hotel in LA
- 5/5

My stay was Amazing!
- 5/5
Amazing view, service and
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Very clean. Amenities food was great.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent, amenities and room were amazing.
- 3/5
The hotel restaurant closed at 11:30a on the weekend although the information in the room had conflicting information. There is a $45 service fee which you get a $25 credit at the restaurant, again it was not open and Valet was $71.50 so basically and extra $100 that is not listed when booking.
- 1/5
The lobby check in was not specific on how the deposit would be distributed through my stay and made things very inconvenient. Also I received random charges for the mini fridge when nothing was taken out. Most disappointing thing was the garage smelled horrible and gave me a migraine as the grease supposedly was being extracted from the restaurant attached. Overall stay was midiocre and it’s unfortunate because my previous stays were a better experience. Might consider the Ritz next trip to Los Angeles unless I can be compensated or given a deal
- 5/5
Very friendly & helpful staff, esp Manny and Jordan, concierges. The hotel is very nice, close to amenities ie Mall, restaurants.
- 5/5
My stay was fantastic. I always stay here when i visit Los Angeles

Franz, Harley and Maria were great with me and I appreciate their help. Sabrina in the club lounge was also amazing. I enjoyed my stay and the room was very quiet. This hotel is great and this was my second stay there.

To big for my taste and a little confusing the layout and the charging.. besides that, nice and big rooms
- 4/5
Clean room and comfortable beds.
- 5/5
All was great
- 1/5
They said breakfast for two was free, but they charged me for a limited menu and then overcharged me. I didn't like the system.
- 5/5
Clean room and customer service
- 3/5
However, there are a few downsides. The ceiling makes noise, possibly due to air conditioning issues. In addition, the in-room facilities feel somewhat basic and cheap compared to hotels in a similar price range. The biggest problem for me was the noise issue. On my first night, it was very hard to fall asleep; on the second night, I tried until 4 a.m. but still couldn’t sleep. I called the front desk, and Matt was very kind — he offered to change my room. I eventually switched rooms, but by the time everything was settled, it was already 6 a.m., and I had to wake up at 9 a.m.. It was truly exhausting.
- 2/5
When I arrived at the Hotel room, there was rotten food inside the refrigerator. (I have a pic.) I guess that was from a previous customer. So, I called the front desk and complained about it. They didn't take that seriously, and the housekeeper showed up 30 minutes later. She excused the shortage of staff. I didn't book a Motel on the countryside highway. Maybe the building is good and looks high-end, but the quality of the service mind is lower than Holiday Inn... My expectation of the Intercontinental Hotel is now pretty low.
- 3/5
The room I stayed in wasn't clean. There were lots of watermarks from the table and drawer in the bathroom, which wasn't filled with amenities Instead there were hairs.

Room was nice and spacious, staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel was in a convenient location for us.

We stayed at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown for a special occasion. While using the Club Lounge, we found what looked like plastic wrap residues on the smoked salmon that was being served. This was extremely concerning as it posed a potential choking hazard. We reported the issue immediately. The Manager on Duty investigated but later told us that the material was actually part of the salmon’s natural body tissue, not plastic. This explanation felt unconvincing and left us questioning the hotel’s food safety standards and transparency. For a property of this prestige, I expected stricter quality control and a more responsible response. Although the hotel eventually offered compensation, the initial handling of the situation was disappointing.
- 3/5
Food is not good
- 5/5
love everything in here
- 4/5
everything is good as expected. the steam room does not work - we went several times during different open hours, and steam does not come out.
- 5/5
Had a phenomenal stay here. Maria S. was fantastic with the service. Highly recommended
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 2/5
TV and AC in room didn't work. $72 valet is the only parking option. Lobby is on 70th floor, my room was on 57. You have to take an elevator up to the 70th floor, walk across a hallway and take another elevator going down to the 57th. The hotel and staff were definitely nice but overall significantly overpriced and inconvenient.
- 5/5
The hotel was absolutely stunning and service was impeccable! Rooftop bar and restaurant were a delight as well as the lobby bar! Rooms were spacious, well priced and clean. Grounds were beautiful. Exterior streets were a bit not safe but always felt safe walking to property

- 5/5
First time staying at this property. The lobby is on the 73 floor or something like that. Unique. And then they give you a map of the elevators. Ate at the steakhouse and it was tasty!

I honestly wish I could live in that hotel. The room, the view, the staff and the entire hotel were amazing. I was there for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. I'll definitely be going back and staying at other Intercontinental hotels wherever and whenever I can.
- 5/5
Everything was great, only issue is the elevators you need to use two of them and could be busy at times.
- 5/5
Staff was exceptional. Everyone from front desk, bell service, housekeeping and valet. Hotel is convenient to Dodgers stadium and crypto arena. Only 10 miles from Universal Studios. Rooms are spacious and clean. Views are spectacular since the front desk is on the 70th floor. Will visit again.

Everything was awesome, except one of the cleaners that did our room on August 25th had done their job very poorly. I left a message for the cleaner for the next day, and the different cleaner on the 26th did a fantastic job.

Only had 1 bad experience (room was sold out after I booked online) but over a dozen good experiences.
- 5/5
great view
- 3/5
Very disappointed, to start they have a sign at the entrance of the parking lot saying self parking since now they charge 71.50 a day for valet i decided to go self parking once i was there a bunch of employees told me I had to go to valet since I am staying at the hotel, they don’t have the buffet anymore so now they serve breakfast at la boucherie which is a smaller restaurant so I waited about 20 minutes to get a table another 15 minutes for a waiter and another 20 plus minutes for the food, the service at the spire was great, the next day we had dinner at la boucherie which is steak house everyone was helpful the steak was great so a manager called Adriana Mercado asked how was everything I told her was very happy but I too bad during breakfast the service is lousy so she apologized and said she was going to make sure we have good service the next day and yes she was there service was good we still waited a while for the food so she gave us some fruit while we waited, bottom line the prices went up and less employees obviously theirs Bussines is going downhill since now they have only two restaurants instead three restaurants that they had before, good thing Lyn a bartender at the lobby lounge was exceptional like always I really miss her when she was at the bar by the pool which now they not even have a blender, i don’t know if we’ll be back
- 5/5
Property was beautiful with good amenities and security. The DTLA area wasn't the prettiest, so I recommend sightseeing in Santa Monica or Beverly Hills.
- 5/5
Very Comfortable room. Room Service breakfest good Staff very friendly & helpful. View of LA amazing from 70th floor.

- 5/5
Great place to have a staycation
- 5/5
The perfect hotel experience. Cleanliness, staff friendliness, decor and view, room service. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. By far the best value!
- 5/5
The carpet in the room can use a deep cleaning, but otherwise good.
- 5/5
There should be more vegan options in the lounge area for VIP and the restaurants.

I
- 2/5
The only good experience was at the restaurant and even then breakfast is over priced, you’re better off going to central market or elsewhere for two meals paying the same you would pay for one here. Basic coffee and food. It’s all hype.

Wouldn’t suggest

Enjoyed my stayed! Stunning views

I love to stay at this hotel because the staff is always really nice. Every single employee that you come across always greets you with a smile on their face. It's a very welcoming experience. Even calling down to the concierge, they are always super friendly and welcoming.

Stay included Club Lounge access, which I will do again. Lounge is comfortable, Happy Hoir includes nice snacks, drinks including wine and liquor. No need for dinner! Excellent breakfast is also included. Room was nice, a/c was on weak side, never got as cool as I liked. For such an upscale hotel, tissue and toilet paper were poor quality.
- 5/5
They attract only dog people.
- 5/5
All staff have been very attentive. We like having the tip included at food venues. We like the lobby on the 70th floor, the view of LA is spectacular!!
- 5/5
i loved the catering towards the guests

The whole 3 days we spent at Intercontinental LA hotel were awesome, from the entrance to the room we smelled fresheness and cleanliness which made us feel comfortable and relaxed, I definately recommend it
- 5/5
I really like the unique elevator technology. First time experiencing that. I loved the panoramic views.

Amazing hotel. Beautiful views of the city. Check in was smooth and quick. Only thing that took a couple of times to understand was how their elevators work. You have to go to the 70th floor every time ( where the lobby is), before transferring elevators to the ground floor. This wasnt a big deal tho as you quickly realize why they set it up like this. They have a bar and kitchen at the lobby as well. They have 2 restaurants as well which had pretty decent food. The breakfast at Le Beaucherie was AMAZING. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Good as always
- 5/5
I stayed at this hotel for two nights for a visit of my friend in town. I got a corner room so the view was impeccably 180 degrees. I left my luggage there on the first floor on the day when I checked out, and picked up later in the evening. The staff there were all really friendly and professional. I will definitely stay there again whenever I'm in town.
- 5/5
has good facilities. Enjoyed staying. Only downside is the LA downtown. It looks dangerous to walk around.
- 5/5
One of the best experiences we've ever had in LA hotels, great service by everyone
- 5/5
Once going in your are greeted by the workers. They make sure sure anything you need is taken care of. They make you feel at home. Loved the whole experience. The views were amazing best by far.
- 5/5
I loved it
- 5/5
Staff is always friendly and accommodating
- 3/5
The food was also a letdown. For the price and hotel caliber, we expected better. We dined at Spire 73 twice and both times the meals lacked flavor. The steaks were bland, and the salad was made with less-than-fresh ingredients. Another frustration: there were no accessible meeting spaces for guests. We had to work out of the lobby despite plenty of unused conference rooms onsite. Great valet, but overall, not an experience I’d return for.
- 5/5
Always stay here and its always a different but great experience. But the girl (I’m so sorry I forgot her name) who checked us in was probably the best hotel check in person I’ve ever dealt with!! Super nice and when we asked in advance for a late check out, there was no hesitation and it was taken care of immediately! And just for this (and her) we will continue to stay here when we’re in the the area. And the all around valet staff was so nice and professional it’s almost uncomfortable (but in a good way).
- 5/5
The awesome view of Downtown LA streets off of hotel’s lobby on the building’s 70th floor leaves a lasting impression; the experience is simply a spectacular one.
- 5/5
Keep up the good work

I had an issue with the final bill, but it was resolved after a few message exchanges. However, I was uncomfortable with the automatic 18% service charge added to all food services. On some days, I didn’t feel the service justified that amount. 15% would have been more reasonable. It felt like this fixed rate discouraged the staff from going the extra mile. Overall, I don’t believe the experience was worth the price.
- 5/5
Love it everytime
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay in this property. The room rate is quite affordable because of its loca
- 5/5
Parking is pricey and elevator is in on eminent but everything else is excellent here!
- 5/5
The area around the hotel had a lot of restaurants and shopping.
- 5/5
I celebrated my anniversary and they were very special, we had a wine and fruit in our room to receive us, the quality of the food was incredible, everything was wonderful
- 4/5
Loved my stay but I do think it’s absolutely egregious that the only refrigerator in the suite is computerized so that anything you remove from it is automatically charged to your room whether you use it or not. I had to visit the front desk to reverse all of the charges. In order to refrigerate any of your personal beverages or left overs you can RENT a refrigerator from the front desk for $35. After spending $1500+ for my stay… I found that to be just pure greed. Other than that the staff was lovely, the pool area was fun and I would come again.
- 4/5
But other than that it was great
- 5/5
Stayed in the king suite and it really captured the feeling of comfort and relaxation. The noise of the city didn’t bother us how I’d imagine. Overall great staff and a perfect break from the regular day to day. the gym had everything very impressed.

The hotel is RIGHT in the middle of DTLA and a few steps across the street is a mall. Very clean, nice rooms, helpful and courteous staff. We enjoyed our stay!!!

We came to DTLA for a staycation and had a wonderful time. The hotel is really nice and the rooms are excellent! We enjoyed the gym which has everything you could need to work out.

The entire staff is always amazing but Ariel was especially welcoming and kind!
- 5/5
It was all good, staff is awesome.
- 5/5
Awesome relaxing time, me and my wife had.
- 5/5
Phenomenal service by the personal helping me at the front named Manny. Beds are a little eh, but nothing to gripe about, the rest of the stay was 10/10!

You can park in a near parking lot much more cheaper 20$ overnight parking.
- 4/5
The staff member that registered me and walk us thru the amenities of the hotel was really prompt and nice.
- 2/5
However, it was very noisy and I could not sleep. When I checked in, I had asked for a quiet room location if possible because I'm a light sleeper. The room they gave me was next to a service elevator that you can hear, especially late at night and early in the morning - repeated noise. And the hotel is right next to the freeway - I could see the freeway from my window and can hear the rumbling traffic noise. The walls seem to be well insulated (can't hear other guests) but the windows are not thick enough - you can hear the sirens from emergency vehicles and the traffic outside very loudly. One other thing - you must go through the 70th floor lobby to go to your room and for exiting (all rooms are below 70th floor) - so my room was on the 42nd floor - to exit the hotel, I had to take the elevator up to the 70th floor then walk to a different area and take a different elevator to go down to first floor exit. To go back to my room, I had to take the elevator all the way up to the 70th floor, walk over to the other set of elevators and take it down to my room. If you want easy access and exit, this hotel is inconvenient.

Gorgeous room. Best bed.

Three big problems: Expensive to park ($75/day), a la cart expensive breakfast (our bill was $375 for 4 people) and the taste was worse than the food I eat at Denny’s or Original Pancake House, our room was close to the elevator and you could hear and feel vibrations of the sound of the elevator going up and down.
- 5/5
This was one of my TOP hotel experiences ever!! The property is exquisite with every amenity available!! Convenient public transportation across the street. Very nice rooftop restaurant. Some of the upfront resort/ luxury tax fees seemed exorbitant, however, I believe it was worthwhile. The staff was competent and professional. The first day, (9/29/24), the elevators were malfunctioning, with only two operating, and the lobby in the 70th floor. They were eventually repaired. The sleeping rooms are perfection!! Design, views, bedding, amenities and freshness!! The pool was nice. Many areas for great photos!! I enjoyed the finance district of L.A.; shopping, safe walkable streets. Each day I struggled to navigate the main level of the property to exit… just too many entryways and no signs to guide. One associate, Michael, for whom I am extremely grateful, on my last day, aided me in a way that was Most Helpful through this large bustling hotel. I highly recommend the Intercontinental Los Angeles and I will return!!
- 5/5
While the elevators could be a little confusing, there were concierges at several of the main floors more than happy to help. The breakfast options were also well balanced and the snacks and beverages were always stocked.
- 5/5
A bit further out than I’d expected, but a great hotel with incredible views.
- 5/5
Me myself I don’t like heights too much and going all the way to the 70th floor every time I wanna get in my hotel room . That got tiring very fast
- 5/5
Perfect for a mini getaway with your family
- 5/5
The staff was welcoming, the amenities were top-notch, and the location made it easy to explore LA while still feeling like I had a peaceful retreat to return to. I’ll definitely be coming back—this place set a new standard for what I expect from a hotel stay.

Great

For sure coming back

I really enjoyed my stay here everything was almost perfect. Staff from top to bottom was amazing. Club lounge was great. Only complaint i have would be the food at spires 73 wasn't so good and the bed wasn't all that comfortable. But other then that good job👏👏👏

This is our third stay at Intercontinental LA and we love it here. All staff are so kind and the valet guys make you feel very welcome upon arriving. The area is safe and very walkable to shops and dining nearby. The room itself is clean, luxurious feeling and most of all, Quiet. There are barely any slamming doors or outside noises that bother us while staying. We did have an issue of a light switch in the bathroom not working (left mirror light on) during our stay but since it was short, we didn't bother making a fuss about it.
- 1/5
Payment problem method. No bath tub.
- 5/5
The hotel is really good and we are coming back in a couple of weeks again. The area around the hotel is downtown and with that you unfortunately see aome homeless people.
- 5/5
The staff is exceptional!!

They charged my account for items I did not use. They never returned my call in regards to the complaint.

The room was clean. Elevators was not convenient. Had to take an elevator to get to the lobby and take another elevator to get to the room. To get out of the hotel same elevator process in reverse order.

Great views from my 54th floor Room. Excellent dining and room service. Found the latter to be steeply priced.
- 5/5
Still a beautiful hotel with the best view of the city. Only problem was the bathroom sink wasn't draining. Only stayed 1 night, when I notified them they took care of it and took off the resort fee for the inconvenience. I would still recommend this hotel
- 5/5
Amazing views from your room.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, superb dinning, incredible lobby views.
- 5/5
Theres another level of personable service (that I found at the Los Angeles Athletic Club) wheras the Intercontinental service feels more cold and less inviting. Only some employees in the building manage to give that really nice, welcoming feeling.
- 5/5
View from the top of this lobby is exceptionally beautiful. Room is big
