Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its location, staff, and restaurant, with some guests also appreciating the room size and design. However, there are consistent complaints about the pool area being closed or overcrowded, and the hotel's party atmosphere, which can lead to noise disturbances. Some guests also mention issues with cleanliness and hidden charges.

The rooms are unique. Comfortable and updated in an Art deco way. The pool is small and more set up to be something to congregate around and socialize. Definitely a younger crowd/influencer type, if that’s your thing. The valet is good, hard to find at first though on arrival. Expensive too, but overnight parking in this area is basically nonexistent so they get to charge as the market allows. The staff was friendly but the checkout person was a bit curt. I’d stay here again for the room, convenience to sunset strip activities, and overall feel.

The only gripe I have is that the amenity charge of $37.50 per person per day was not highlighted during my booking process. Also that the Town Car service was restricted to 2 miles distance. We stayed five days and it was only available to us once. We didn’t use the pool or gym room at all during our stay so $375 for one Limo trip annoys us more than a bit.

The menu was all alcohol too, needed more coffee/Matcha options! There was complimentary coffee in the morning but we always had to wait for it to be refilled and had to ask for milk which could have been better organised.

We stayed in a Studio Suite which was large, great bed and had fabulous views of the Holywood Hills. There are definitely teething problems from the takeover over of the mondrian and becoming a Hilton property. Check- in was chaotic as our booking hadn't migrated across properly and they wanted to put us in a much lower grade room. The bar also had a very poor selection of alcohol which didnt match the menu.

I’ve stayed here when it was Mondrian and so disappointed this time. Front desk staff hopeless, concierge lazy (standing around and don’t even open hotel door for you), pool area tired, pool lounges uncomfortable. Rooms are psychedelic blue lighting, bathroom tiny, bath/shower awkward. Overall wouldn’t waste my $. Stay at 1 hotel next door.
- 2/5
We were also told no further charges were to be made as it was all prepaid through virgin then having over 200 dollars debited from the account! The male members of reception were pretty good but the females were arrogant and ignorant when asking questions or advice. The smell of weed was present throughout the floors and in the lift which wasn’t a nice encounter. I believe this place offered better service before the Hilton takeover which seemed to be what I heard a few customers saying

The room smelt like cigarette smoke, the service for front desk/in room service was not efficient or even kind for that matter. No robes in the rooms, or extra blankets. Pillows are hard. Good hotel for people who are partying hard. Not a relaxing stay if not looking for that.

the hotel was very nice, clean. they needed a proper breakfast option. The room service menu was very limited and a bit over priced for what was being offered. I am from NY so totally understand the higher pricing for items but it has to make sense. you can't uncharged for every single thing on the menu and expect it to be ok.

I paid for late checkout, yet hotel staff entered my room twice to kick us out, claiming checkout had passed. They had completely forgotten that late checkout was approved and paid for, which was disruptive, stressful, and unprofessional. There was no apology—just confusion and attitude. On top of that, I was incorrectly charged for overnight parking for a vehicle that was not mine. My folio clearly shows two different vehicle numbers, yet I was charged for the wrong one. When I raised this issue, I spoke with a staff member named Adrian, who was rude and dismissive, insisting there was an “investigation” and that the charge was mine—despite the invoice itself proving otherwise. Between: Paying for late checkout and being harassed to leave anyway Incorrect parking charges Rude and dismissive staff Needing to escalate billing errors after checkout the entire stay was a mess. For a hotel that brands itself as upscale, the service and organization were completely unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others to review their folio line by line before leaving this property.

Front desk staff lovely, super friendly. Cafecito barista girl is hating her life. No eye contact, no engagement. Put the coffee on the bar both days without announcing that it was ready, so we were just standing there. Charged us two different prices for the exact same drinks. We don’t even question it-seemed kind of pointless.

The Mondrian had some struggles after covid, but noticed an increase in cleanliness and service during this stay. I hope they keep it up. They always have cool events here - it’s a really special property given the location and views. The restaurant is a lot of fun too.

This is not a 4 star hotel. It's tired and junky - would not stay again! I found it to be dirty and more like a 3 star with very bad art! Any hotel that has "Coffee Mate" and paper cups at their front desk beverage station is not even close to a 4 star hotel - more like Best Western Vibes!

The location of the hotel is a perfect setting on the hills with an amazing view over LA. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Any time we called the desk for anything they were at our door within minutes. Overall it was a great visit!
- 4/5
Highlights from my stay: the room was clean and spacious I’d recommend the King balcony suite for solo or couple travelers, complimentary guests passes to Equinox are such a great perk, the restaurant Casa Medrano is fantastic and has a great happy hour at the bar the service there is incredible, great ambiance - plus the food and drinks are excellent.
- 5/5
Excellent property and staff

We were greeted by a kind message from the hotel and were given a complimentary update. The room was very spacious and clean. The hall way seems old and not as luxurious as the room.
- 5/5
Had a wonderful stay - great location, clean and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Nice room, does need some updating but overall was clean and fine. The pillows were the one big issue - extremely uncomfortable and evidently old.
- 4/5
Visit. Warm welcome and great room. One of the attractions was to experience the sky bar and chill on the day beds however there was a Mariah Carey Xmas pop up which bought in way too many ladies in skimpy red dressss for their insta posting. I guess mobile phones with cameras were not a thing when I was last here…Ambience was not what I had been hoping for. Our 18yr old could not enter either not even to take a look. We had issues with a broken toilet and tv that wasn’t working - all attended to beautifully and timely. Great location and good variety of dining options nearby. 2 comedy venues within walking distance. I love Mariah Carey’s all I want for Xmas but 4 nights of it was a bit much esp when not knowing. maybe advise guests before arriving as I’m sure I didn’t see a thing about it. Bucket list stay - tick

- 3/5
Mixed feelings. I had a very pleasant room upgrade to a studio suite. It was extremely spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The housekeeping was excellent and the room always clean. Breakfast was a little chaotic as they were obviously trying their best but clearly understaffed. When I checked out, I was presented with a very confusing bill, showing numerous individual charges that, when grouped together, totalled around $55 a night. When I broke down the small mandatory incidentals, I realised I had been charged nearly $100 for breakfast on the last day, which was a $22 avocado toast and a $4 drip coffee. All communication with the hotel has gone unanswered. It soured what was a mostly pleasant trip, as confidence is key. As should be the effort to correct a mistake when it’s spotted. I can handle chaotic breakfast service, but not being charged almost quadruple the cost of the food and drink.
- 5/5
Room was beautiful and the staff was helpful and friendly
- 2/5
I was traveling for work so wasn’t extremely picky and the room was very comfortable, extremely clean and had nice toiletries. That said, I was on the 11th floor and there was pounding music from a party they were throwing in the lounge area. Thankfully I brought earplugs and was already exhausted otherwise this would have been extremely annoying.

Staff were friendly and really helpful. Room was clean, big, and nicely decorated. Perfect location on the Sunset Strip. Skybar was good too!

Property in disarray, dirty windows, feels old. Long in the tooth as they say. They need to put some money into this property if they want to continue the legacy.
- 3/5
Hotel needs overhaul/refresh.
- 5/5
Like everything but, the staff at the CASA MADERA restaurant in the hotel... Very rude staff member Sergio! Walked out and spent my money elsewhere!!!
- 4/5
Staff were all very nice and accommodating. Everyone was super responsive. The rooms are definitely a little worn. We had a one bedroom suite that had damaged wood floors in each room from some kind of leak. Things were kind of beat up. Towels seemed old. It was weird to have a full kitchen but no dishwasher or fridge to put food items into. The mini fridge was stuffed so full that even a little baby food packet didn’t fit. No big complaints but probably wouldn’t stay again. Oh and parking is $70 per night with no choice to self park.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean room, nice pool area. Fyi - not a good idea for Friday nights for young families, music will blasting. Will come back again.
- 5/5

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool area. A lot of great activities near the hotel.
- 3/5
Great hotel if you're on vacation but might not be the right vibe if you are traveling for work. The staff were friendly and helpful but I couldn't get a coffee in the coffee bar past 11am or 1pm in the restaurant which was a problem for a few business meetings I took at the hotel.
- 1/5
Our room was given away. So at 1am when we finally arrived they had to scramble to find us an open room. The tv only has cable, you can not connect to any streaming apps. Tried in the multiple rooms we got moved to. Floors are all scratched up. Bath tub doesn’t drain. The couch looks dirty & stained. The desk is all scratched & looks gross. The white chair to sit on was covered with black marks all over it. Tried talking to the lady at the front desk but she had the worst attitude & made me feel like I was a cry baby because their rooms were all disgusting! On Friday & Saturday night you can’t pull into the tiny driveway to valet because of Skybar. There’s so many people trying to go to the bar, the cars line up all the way down the street! So it’s horrible for the people who are actually staying there! You feel as if you were catfished with this hotel! It’s nothing like what the website or pictures show. So be prepared to pay a lot of $ to get a Holiday Inn stay.
- 3/5
This should be a 3 star hotel. There was no hot water. They ran out of coffee . Everything was just very mediocre.
- 4/5
Overall, very good experience at the Mondrian. Room was clean and modern and staff were nice. The Sky Bar was a very nice touch as it added a nightlife experience to the hotel. Only critique was with the shower as hot water would take very long to come. Even after it was fixed, we still had to leave the shower running for about 3-4 minutes before entering.

I would like a refund. We tried to call the front desk and waited over 20 minutes to speak to someone. The 8th floor smelled like cigarettes and we had an emergency while on hold with .
- 3/5
For the price, the property is not up to par. The wood and paint was chipped in various areas, and the seats in the lobby were stained. There was no place to work (which I didn't necessarily expect and don't consider it a negative as it is clearly more of a party hotel), and limited options for dining. The "cafe" had very limited hours and selection. All staff that I interacted with were lovely. Overall, if the place was more updated and cared for, my rating would likely change.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in a good area on Sunset. Staff were great and went out of their way to help.

staff was friendly, hotel was clean. we really enjoyed the restaurants and pool
- 1/5
Worse hotel I have been tooo by far. Let’s just say that I reserved a suite and was downgraded me without a refund saying that it was actually an upgrade because they gave me a quieter floor. Also the hotel it self is a coverup for other stuff. If your a family stay far from this hotel. It’s dangerous and they have random hookers roaming the place all night long.

Bell staff was amazing, front desk were ok, and room service was nice.

The staff especially Autumn was most amazing and accommodating. She made our stay a wonderful experience.
- 2/5
The only thing positive I have to say is the area has a lot to do but other than that for the price I'd look elsewhere. Rooms are very noisy then on my 2nd night I get woke up by the sound of water coming through the ceiling. Had to pack up all my belongings at 3a.m. in the morning then they downgraded my room to something much smaller. Got 0 sleep and then in the morning when I complained about it they tell me they'll waive the amenity fee. The amenities I didn't use which was $103.00 that does not cut it for supposedly being a luxury hotel. Absolutely ridiculous. Then they charge 70.00 dollars a night to park a vehicle. Staff was rude and dismissive of my inconvenience. Wouldn't recommend.
- 4/5
Our room was large by LA standards and comfortably slept 3 !! The bed was very confortable and the room was very quiet :)
- 5/5
Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area of course.
- 3/5
I don't like when you book this hotel you pay the entire stay then you check in and they charge you 800 to cover incidentals that's low class. I will pay for what I buy. I would never stay here again. it is kinda of gross and dirty in this sense.

Dirty, garbage in the hallways
- 1/5
I’ve stayed here many times over the years. It’s changed a lot. If you want a party hotel and don’t plan to sleep becasue the noise is so loud it’s a good spot. But if you don’t want music banging in your ears until 2am and then having neighbors with 5-6 people in a room partying all night I would say it’s not the right place. Disappointing because this hotel is in a great area and could be awesome but under the current management and allowing parties non stop Thurs - Sunday the place attracts a party crowd and rowdy crowd.
- 5/5
Service was amazing with a prime location. Valet guys were all great- fully worth the money per night. Came back to a spotless room everyday with house keeping going above and beyond. Pool was a lively environment. Would definitely come back!

Staff is the only great part of this hotel. They were all exceptional. However, we booked under the pretense of no additional fees. There were hundreds of dollars in fees. $70 each night for parking. $40 resort fee per day, for what I’m not sure. Casting didn’t work on the tv. WIFI was slow when it connected. Bathrooms are small. No locks on bathroom doors. Hallways are dim. Couldn’t use the pool because there was always a party going on. Drip coffee is $7. No extra towels or linens in room. Be prepared to be charged for ANY amenity. Would definitely just stay somewhere more expensive with amenities included.
