It was a nice hotel with a good pool and nice restaurant. The room was comfortable; however it had a somewhat foul odor. They do not routinely clean your room unless you ask (which I didn’t realize). Also the pool was very cold although it was supposed to be heated.

The location the beds the staff Some of the hotel rooms need work and the elevators should be renewed. I had to move rooms because the elevators should made noise that penetrated all the way to my room.

The manager was patient and showed empathy. She was calm and understanding. The fact that I paid for two rooms. Bad communication. Did not get any warning or alert to pay, or that there would be a deposit upon arrival. The deposit is extremely high, $100 a night, 2 rooms, $800. I understand I was to get it back, but it was not mentioned in the messages or the receipt. Because I could have addressed it beforehand.

I like the location. There is a grocery store right next door so that was very convenient. The hotel was quiet. I would stay here again. Only issue was the $100 a night security deposit. I wish more hotels would be transparent about the amount beforehand. It should be posted on the website. I would rather have that $300 to spend while on vacation.

Stayed here for my 30th birthday, a solo trip to visit Santa Monica. The staff was so helpful in accommodating my requests, from chilling a gifted bottle of champagne and bringing it to my room within an hour of checking in. They were very helpful in giving me recommendations for outdoor areas, like pointing me to the running trail so I could do my morning jog to great dinner spots along the marina. The hotel is very conveniently located next to a mall, a Pavilion's, and other nearby shops. The welcome cookies were great. Overall, the place is quiet despite being a very family-oriented setting, so I'm sure to return next time I'm in Santa Monica.

We just got really sad to find out after we left the property that there was free breakfast included. We found this out only because Expedia asked us about the breakfast. No one has ever mentioned that to us. Effectively, something that was included was not provided to us.

We didn’t have breakfast there, but we love the location of the hotel. We love the cookies that were given to us when we arrived and water bottles. The fitness room was great and the pool was also awesome. The bed was very comfortable and overall, my wife and I had a great time there. A hot tub would’ve been nice

I asked for just a half hour checkout extension and they said no to that request and when I asked for just 15 minutes they still would not accommodate me. So I had to rush my last minutes to get ready to check out. 15 to 30 minutes really? No where else I have ever stayed has done that.

They gave me a room by the elevator and the noise was ridiculous. I call and ask to move rooms but they said they were full but would give me breakfast. I called again and was offered 50% off. When I finally said I was leaving they did not seem to care, said I would be refunded, but since it was through Expedia they could not give me any kind of receipt, I have yet to see the refund

Location was great. There’s a Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and Ulta right across the street. Check in was smooth and easy despite of spring break crowds. Nice pool with cabanas, great bar and food was excellent at Barbianca. Ordered a burger and fries poolside and it has to be one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially cleaning staff. Breakfast buffet was also pleasantly good and a decent price. Overall a great 3-night stay with my daughter and would definitely stay at MDR again!

Front desk staff was great and very attentive. We were able to get an early check in, however the room smelled horrible. They moved us to another room later that evening. There seems to be an issue with an over powering mildew smell. Rooms are relatively clean. One side of the hotel seems to be renovated, while the other is not. They need to remove the carpeting which smells horrible. Good location next to the marina.

Unfortunately there are 2 negatives that drops our overall rating to (3 star). 1. The carpet is past due to be replaced throughout the hotel rooms and and especially the hallways. The carpet is discoloured making it unattractive and is a dangerous tripping hazard in the hallways as it has lifted and buckled from the under pad! (0 stars for carpet!) 2. The rooms that face the adjoining shopping plaza are noisy from all the delivery and garbage trucks traffic that starts in the wee hours of each morning. The rooms facing inside the pool courtyard were better for noise reduction, thank you staff for helping us move to a courtyard room location. The hotel generally needs a bit of TLC. The rooms on the east side of the building which backs on to the Pavilions market are very noisy as the trucks unload their delivery at 3am until around 7:30am. Also the room doors are really heavy and make a loud bang when they close. We had the worst 4 nights sleep ever. The hotel needs to invest in double glazing on that side of the building.

The most concerning part happened during checkout. While I briefly stepped out, the cleaning staff entered my room even though my phone and personal belongings were still there charging, clearly indicating the room was still occupied. They threw away the food I had in the room and even took my bottle of alcohol, which is completely unacceptable. When I brought this issue to the attention of the front desk, the staff member showed no concern and did not even offer an apology. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or acknowledge the mistake, the situation was handled very poorly. Overall, the lack of respect for guests' belongings and the rude attitude from staff made this a very unpleasant experience. I would strongly advise management to improve their customer service and train staff to respect guests and their property.

We were unable to have our staff stay here because they are a "21 and over hotel" which we have never heard of in our life. And it left us scrambling on the night before producing a major event. That was an insane, and VERY unncessary rule which could have been easily overruled by the front desk and was not. This was a business trip - one nearly ruined by this hotel and this unheard of rule.

The breakfast was awful and did not meet basic expectations. The mattress was very old, noisy, and extremely uncomfortable, which made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, the shower body wash container was empty. I had to call the front desk three times before someone finally brought it to our room. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and the service did not meet acceptable standards. If I could give no star I would have done it!!!

Beds were very comfortable, and room was clean. However secondary lock did not work on our slider door to the balcony which made me leery. Additionally, the fire alarms went off at 8am for 5+ minutes. It woke us up and then there was zero follow up or discussion from staff which I found unacceptable. No mention if there was a need to evacuate or a mistake, then at check out no mention of the situation. Very strange. Overall doubt we will be back or recommend.

Next morning had lukewarm water for my shower. Following morning had a cold shower. Stopped at the desk and reported and again, very nice, she said they had had a problem. Original room given was noisy as right next to an elevator. So asked to change room. At breakfast first thing ie 06.00 am music was booming as in a night club, asked for it to be turned down or off as we didn’t want to have to shout at each other or the waiting staff. Great location, when I say great location, their was a vons, behind our parking lot, big shopping center, cvs, panda express, etc. Lots of stores. The entire Hotel is covered by shopping centers everywhere. Also it was a 5 minute drive to the Harbor, with more restaurants and guess what, another shopping center, with a Ralphs, Starbucks, Shake Shack, etc. You cannot beat this location. So much to do, and everything is walking distance. Can it all be this great, something had to go wrong, and it did, but I still give them 5 stars for correcting the problem. Upon checking in, my room smelled like someone had just finished smoking in it, I asked for another room, they gave me a room in the higher floors, but it wasnt as nice as the room with the outdoor patio. I went back to the front desk, and said i want my first room back, what can you do about the smell, room service came in within 5 minutes, sprayed everywhere, whatever it was, room smelled like a new car, and their was no more smell of smoke. Really did appreciate the fast response. Since it was corrected so well, I will not take a star. The Whole front desk staff was great, Sorry that I can only remember 1 name, I believe it was William. Customer service was great join check in, the rest was awful. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, phone in room did not work. We stayed for 2 night trip And no one came to clean, refresh the room or provide towels. The hallways carpet is a trip hazard raised as if a flood or something I occurred yet they did not remove the carpet. Very difficult to transport your bags, and even walk down the hallway without risk of tripping. The room itself was very small, and not clean. Bathroom has no vent to prevent steam, so the water collects on the ceiling. Great location but terrible hotel. Very unhappy with this stay. We could not wait to get out of there.

We enjoyed the food in the restaurant area. We were on time for our check in but couldn't get checked in at 3pm as reserved. We had to wait and got checked in almost an hour later. We had driven 5.5 hours to the hotel so of course we were eager to relax. Room service is every other day, not everyday, so you have to ask for fresh towels and linen if you need it before then. Overall the stay was nice, peaceful and the staff was helpful whenever we asked for anything.

The pullout sleeper of my room had no mattress, just wood slats. I notified the front desk but was told housekeeping had already left for the night and was assured it would be taken care of in the next days service. After coming back the next evening, my room was not serviced, and no mattress was delivered. I stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping never came once. I had to go to the front desk every night and ask for towels and coffee. The only thing I was offered was a voucher for breakfast the morning I checked out. Horrible service.

The Elevator Nose kept me up All Night, Before I was having Surgery the next day... The Shower had No Body Wash or Shower Gel, Shampoo... Not Good for the Money I spent, Especially when I was Referred by my Doctor's Assistant...

The room they gave us, the door was already open, the ac unit did not work. It was very humid inside the room when we got there. We told the front desk and they gave us another room, that room was also very humid. The ac unit still did not work. And the elevator was very janky, we felt like it was going to breakdown on us. We did not feel safe.

Hotel was amazing and the staff were great, however the hotel seems to rent the hotel to tour busses that arrive late at night and then leave the engines running all night next to your balconies so in bed you feel like you at a motorway services. Gutted really as a geat place but need to decide if they are a hotel or lorry park (happened both of my nights and got very little sleep :( )

The lobby is nice. The guest room floors ate disgusting. Hall carpets filthy and loose creating a tripping hazard. The rooms smell musty. Restaurant service is appalling. Four stars is a stretch for this hotel. 2 to 3 at best.

Compared with other DoubleTree properties, this one feels a bit tired. The bedding was old and lumpy, the room dated, and room service never answered the phone. Housekeeping also missed the scheduled time, so my family had to wait in the lounge. Service quality was mediocre, around 5 out of 10.

Overall, great experience. The gym was closed and it was a big factor of why we chose the property. It would have been nice to be given a heads up. The staff was friendly and informative. Barbianca staff were also friendly and welcoming. The pool was great and we loved spending the evenings there . We would take mornings to work in the lobby and it was a great experience - we would walk around the Marina or drive into LA - close to the airport, Costco, amazing restaurants, and we’d go enjoy the sunset at the beach. Parking is pricey compared to other Hilton properties.

Great hotel, had everything we needed, and the pool area was great. They were in the middle of renovating the lobby when I was there (in September 2025) though, so it was a bit of a maze to get to the front desk. Elevators were pretty slow.

Room was clean. Carpet seems a bit in need of cleaning, especially in the hallways. Room was quite comfortable except it felt damp like the air conditioner hadn’t run in several days of hot weather. Dampness seemed to dissipate near the end of the stay most likely from it being set at 66 to draw moisture out of the air. Would definitely stay again.

not a great experience even after checking out yesterday im still getting charges on my credit card for food and services that i never ordered the whole group i was with 12 guys experienced the same issues i will be conacting my credit card issuer today it clearly states on my obline staent that the merchant charging the card is possibly fraud not great womt be staying again not looking forward to aeeing how many more bogus charges im getting

The room we had was tired and the hotel corridors are very tired and carpets not very clean The noise at night was bad the patio doors are not double glazed and sounds like they are open and the road near by is load we all had to where ear plugs We saw cockroaches inside the lower level corridors The breakfast wasn’t great not much choice I could go on to be honest

The room was super small and the balcony was dirty with cigarette butts and empty plastic bottles. Their security cameras also looked as though they didn’t work. Needless to say we will not be back.

This DoubleTree property is conveniently located and has free parking. But the hotel needs some love, and more staff. Bar, restaurant, housekeeping, and front desk all need help. Employees virtually ignore the pool area, housekeeping requires a few calls to get to your room the same day, and the amenities in the room and bathroom are lacking.

Overall, decent hotel for a quick stay. If you're coming here for a getaway, I would look to better kept, higher end hotels. One thing that was very obvious were the hallways being in need of some tlc. They were filthy, and carpets were buckled the entire length of the hallways.

First room they gave us was old, noisy and the AC was broken. Second room was better, because it was far from the elevator but the AC was still behaving weirdly. The property was remodeled but it needs better maintenance.

Our room was never cleaned the entire stay despite us requesting it to be done twice. Meanwhile, we asked for fresh towels on four occasions and it never was brought to us. The hallways were dirty with carpet coming up and very loose. The AC was very loud and difficult to sleep.

It has a very inviting atmosphere, it’s nice to have a bar and a high quality restaurant on site. The room was ample and my husband loved the big TV! Football season has started. The breakfast buffet was very nice and I loved that I prepaid for it and it was a great deal, I will do that again on our next stay!

People at front desk rude. They charged me twice for drinks I purchased in the bar. Showed me new invoice with it removed. Charged my card anyway. Room smelled musty.

We arrived early and we were able to lock up our bags and have a great meal and use of the pool, which was real cold. This hotel is very close to everything and quiet, pillows were awful other than that it was a great place to stay. I would love to come back!

the air-conditioning unit in the room was very loud. We were also in a room facing the freeway so it was also very loud through the sliding door. the carpet throughout the facility needs to be changed. our door did not close all the way, needed to pull it shut when leaving. The elevator lights were not working. Needs a lot of updating.

Pool broken led to cut foot. Ice machine out on our floor. Toiletries virtually empty on arrival. Old popcorn left in the ice bucket. Slow bar service. Had to go find more pool towels, pool area left unchecked all day with old towels on sunbeds all day despite people having left. No safe in room, asked at reception - got told it was in the closet - it wasn’t!

All the staff are very nice. They welcome you with cookies and bottle of water at check-in. I checked-in 10min before 3pm, however I was asked to return at 3pm to get the room key. Personally I feel this is bad customer service. The parking is expensive for $33/day for being only an outdoor parking. The bar code for parking is a piece of paper and is really hard to angle the sensor to access the parking lot. I highly recommend to schedule your housekeeping service at Check-In. I was on the 2nd FL in 2 Queens. The carpet smelled and the bathroom needs some deep cleaning. The shower wasn’t draining the first night. I had to lift the drain cover and sweep away the hair…obvious it’s not my hair since it was my 1st night. There was a dead roach in the bathroom. They housekeeping needs to be more mindful. Overall, it was ok. It’s wasn’t awful. You get what you pay for.

Good location. Good maid service. Property looks old and run down like a 1970s Hawaii vibe. Big giant stains on the carpet in the hallways. Elevators constantly breaking down. Pool area is run down and the life guard chair is so broken it is rusted and hanging in the water as a safety hazard. Pool is dirty and very small. Not enough towels or chairs for the size of the hotel. Lots of hidden charges like parking at $30 per night and a parking tax. The breakfast brunch is horrible and way over priced. It should be free. I booke the hotel because it had 4 stars. This hotel is hard 3 star.

Room is spacious and relatively clean, but maybe because I got a ground level room, there were random bugs/spider seen a few times. HAVE to request for housekeeping, but when trying to dial the phone for over a good 5 minutes and nobody picked up (this is before 1100am ish?) Went to the reception after, who told us it has to be pre-requested and that they will try their best to get to it (this is still before noon), and if not they will at least replenish the toiletries/towels, which I said is really what I looked for. Came back to the hotel later around 5pm, nobody ever came 🙃 Called the line again and this time someone picked up, and about 15mins later staff brought it over. Okay that sounds like a petty complaint but I’m sick of this lack of effort in housekeeping since Covid, and I 100% understand the trying to save the planet effort. But when I specifically requested and was promised that it will be done, I expected it, especially in a 4 stars Hilton chain… also, no cookie, I’m pathetically a little sad about that 😂 Anyway, it’s not horrible or bad experience, but not good enough and I unlikely will stay again as there’re many other options in the area or just central LA in general.

My only unexpected thing was no laundry exchange in the mornings. Did not know we had to request a change and so the wet towels piled up. Other than that it was very lovely and likewise the staff. The chef was preparing food particularly nicely on our first visit.

We loved our stay at MDR overall. But, there was a few complaints we had. Firstly, there was no microwave in the room and the communal microwave, all the way down stairs, didn’t work. Once downstairs, we see snacks, icecream and drinks and asked to purchase some. We were informed that the little store area was closed and we couldn’t purchase items except for 6am-10pm. With no vending machine options for drinks or snacks, also not being able to purchase the snacks in front of us was frustrating. Housekeeping and front desk staff were amazing. I would definitely stay here again!!

Property was fine, Restaurant not so fine. Food was cold, old and dry, Breakfast. Seemed like it was cooked the day before. Certainly not value for money at $30+ per head. Hilton needs to clean this problem up, let's get it up to least a Hilton minimum standard. Embarrassing for the brand.

Property is in good shape and clean. The problem is the noise level near the road. Road racing all night long. Parking is interesting using a QR code reader on a piece of paper which eventually works after you hear a beep. Property has one valet cart. So if you have lots of stuff, you will be making several trips to the car.

Front desk informs my family that they don't have any rooms available for another hour. Front desk mentioned that they had informed Expedia ... Expedia did not communicate this to me. Front desk lady was nice, because of the wait, she gave us a voucher for free meals for 3 people (2 adults, 1 baby). She mentioned to show it to the bartender or breakfast staff. Next morning, my daughter wasnt feeling well so I ordered from the breakfast menu to be delivered to our room. An employee delivered the food, refused the voucher saying he couldn't honor it. After explaining the communication during check in - he said "fine whatever" then abruptly just turns around and walks away from me. A good morning or goodbye would have been great -- instead this guy just gave me and my family attitude.
