N/A for parking. It was just one guy in the office so there wasn't always someone there. The area was shady. The room was sketchy. It wasn't a desirable neighborhood.

Clean, decent room, free parking, fridge and microwave and even an iron. It's the best moderate-price motel in Culver City. It's near a Costco, a Walgreens and several restaurants. I wish the lights were a bit brighter... it was a little dim for my preference. There are some homeless people near the motel, but of course that's not the fault of the motel.

Everything was perfect! I’ve been here twice now and I’ve had a great stay. The staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful with anything you needed and is always trying to help no matter the hour. Room was clean and very organized and I will be coming back the next time I go to California again.

Bed was comfy, working a/c, TV, fridge and microwave. Bathroom baseboards were dusty. Tub and sink kept filling up with water, didn't drain very well.

Area looks rough and the place is modest, but the rooms are clean the staff is congenial and you get way better than what you pay for. Good value.

The bedroom itself and the kitchenette was fine for one night. We did not hear much traffic noise but did hear our neighbouring units, doors closing, loud conversations. The bathroom was certainly not mold-free. Even running the exhaust in the bathroom, the mirror remained foggy for hours after a shower. The sink counter also seemed to be falling off the wall, it was tilted and not level. Beyond the bathroom, the stay was acceptable.

We always stay at the Encore when we visit family in Venice Beach. The location for us is great, although the area around the motel is a little rundown. The staff is wonderful. Beds are comfy. Parking is easy. The small kitchenette is a bonus. The place is starting to show its age and could do with some paint, small repairs, and sprucing up. But, overall, it's safe, comfortable, and a good deal.

The manager at the front desk tried to charge me a deposit for my service animal which is illegal. He said my "pet" wasn't allowed to sleep on the bed and gave me towels for the floor. I tried to get them to give me a refund and wouldn't and demanded I pay the deposit. He was screaming at me that I was a "stupid b-tch" that wouldn't get the deposit back because of my dog. Hotels.com helped by providing my account some $ so I could stay somewhere else.

Accommodated me after booking the wrong date last minute. Only problem was the lack of a latched lock on the door. Room was nice and clean with a comfy bed. Parking is a little tight if you have an SUV or full size truck.

The manager was outstanding and attentive. I had a handicap room and it met my needs completely. The shower was particularly appreciated. For the price, I thought it was a great bargain.

The staff (Jeff) was awesome. The room was a little dusty and the mirror wall was smudged. Also, the bathroom sink didn't drain. But the bed was terrific.

It’s unfortunate that it turned out the way it did. The grounds looked very well kept and I had high hopes after reading such positive reviews, but I will never stay here again, regardless of the convenience to the event I was attending.

My only issue was finding the entry to the parking lot using online driving instructions. The driveway entry was in an unexpected location right off of a busy street.

The worst place I have ever stayed in my entire life. It was filthy inside and out. I was afraid to touch anything. There was dirt and fingerprints on the walls and doors, in the corners of the floors, and on the windowsills. The curtain had holes in it, and I was afraid to walk on the floor. I used tissues to turn on the lamp and touch the switches. Thank goodness I brought my own pillows and blankets. I was too tired to try to get my money back and find another place to stay. I don’t understand why there were so many five-star reviews that said this place was clean. While the gentleman checking me was friendly, that doesn’t make up for such a filthy room. Horrible, never again.

Did not mention any height restriction for entrance which is why I chose this place. Refused to refund me as I was unable to get my vehicle into their premises and the only offer of help was "this is your problem not ours".

The Encore Hotel in Marina Del Rey offers an excellent location, which was the highlight of our visit. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the overall experience fell short of expectations. The property could benefit from better upkeep and greater attention to detail, as the atmosphere felt somewhat neglected. While we initially chose the Encore for its price, even at the current rate we would likely explore other options in the area for future stays.

Older, dated, clean. Request room away from HWY to lessen traffic noise.

The premises would benefit from improved maintenance and some refurbishment to enhance both their functionality and overall appearance. Addressing areas of wear and implementing necessary repairs or upgrades would help restore the property to an acceptable standard and create a more welcoming environment.

Rooms smelled and looked dirty. I was nervous to sleep under the covers but I just needed a place to stay for a night. The staff was nice and well intentioned. Learned my lesson to just spend the extra few bucks for a hotel.

I wish there had been another electrical outlet by the desk area, and maybe a small light there, but otherwise it was a nice and quiet stay (except for a small faucet drip). Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and the fridge and microwave were appreciated. Walking toward Lincoln Blvd. gets a bit sketchy, with homeless people hanging out, some angrily shouting.

Very dated building and rooms. Bathroom door only opened 2/3 of the way and jammed on the floor. Kitchen had good options inc microwave but could with cutlery. Rooms need deep clean to rid of damp fragrance.

The location was good for going from airport, but surrounding was terrible. We felt unsafe, strange people in motel. We had come to front desk and it was terrible experience from the first moment. The guy checked the room in front of us. Told us it is prepared. We had come in and we felt cigarette smoke, in bath there were ashes and cigarette butts. It was not clean room. Stains everywhere.

The room was absolutely average. Perfect for what I needed. A clean bed and shower at a reasonable price. Safe parking and a nice location. The person at the desk was literally there 24/7. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I had a special request for accommodation and they went above and beyond to help me out. Clean rooms, quiet area and it’s right across the street from an Inn and Out! There’s a Costco business center across the street too! Parking is tight so if you have a large vehicle be cautious of parking in a corner. Clean bathrooms and fresh linens with some complimentary items. I would highly recommend this place.

Felt like I was in prison…

Well, imagine you are watching a movie and the character is living in a sketchy motel. Thats what this was like. I felt safe there but the room was pretty beat up. It needs major updating, nail holes filled and a paint job. The tub didn't drain well while taking a shower, the AC unit was loud, the bed was moderately comfortable. We walked to the beach from there by a number of unhoused folks. We took a Lyft back. It is right across the street from Costco and In and Out. The people staying there all seemed like foreign tourists which was fine, of course.

Staff is great! Second stay here. Manager is friendly and helpful, so I came back. Kitchenette is perfect. Water is HOTTT!! Room is clean.

On the negative side, there was some woman coughing outside my window much of the first night. I had to go out early the next morning and saw a young woman sleeping on the ground a few feet away, presumably the same person. The wall unit air conditioner did not maintain a constant temperature--it either blasted cold air or you had to turn it off and let the room get warm, so you're constantly turning it on or off to be comfortable. Sound from adjacent rooms was an issue, much more so than in a hotel. The final night of a three night stay the toilet kept running and the tank would not refill unless I manually pushed down the seal inside the water tank. Though it is a little spruced up visually and kept clean, it is a one-star motel, and I probably would have been happier at one of the nearby two-star hotel chains that were similarly priced.

Ok, I am well aware that you get what you pay for, and I didn't want to spend $500/night for a room in L.A., so I didnt have high hopes for this motel. However, it wasn't bad. The room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable and the employee behind the desk (maybe the owner?) was very nice. Our shower didnt have hot water, and when I told him about it, he fixed it immediately. He said they will be doing major renovations in 3 months, and I would stay here again if I ever return. Overall, very happy for what I paid for.

Perfect Stay

Had a great experience at Encore. Rooms had everything I needed including a fridge. Manager was nice and helpful during checkin. Motel is central to Venice.

Just painting over doesn’t make it look good needs a little bit of soap and water. Cleanliness is a little bit better key unfortunately I had already paid for it and I guess you can’t get your money back Jeff you made it worthwhile. Thank you very much and good luck in the future

The hotel is nice and about 1.5 miles from beach. There’s an in and out across the street. The room was ok, it was clean but the paint was peeling and the room over all needs a little TLC. The beds are are comfortable but if you are able to bring your own pillows they were flat. I would definitely stay here again

Room was very clean Staff was very cordial and asked about our stay afterwards. We booked again in two weeks when we will be down there working again highly recommend!

Here are some of the many problems: visible thick layer of dust on headboard and walls; two large spider webs with dead spiders in the bathroom; extremely dirty bathroom and kitchenette walls; dirty bathroom counter and shower floor; filthy upholstery on the chair; dirty microwave inside and out; irregularly noisy old ceiling fan (woke me multiple times); long black hairs on the towels and pillowcases, one of which was very pilly and threadbare. To be fair I will list the positives - A/C worked, comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels other than the hair, strong new lock though no deadbolt, all appliances work, hot water, nice TV though we don’t watch it. For the price point, I’m certain you can get a better value elsewhere.

My experience here was terrible. The room was disgustingly dirty — stained sheets with hair on them, sticky light switches, a grimy floor, and a filthy shower. The bathroom vanity was literally held together with tape, the deadbolt was broken off, and the fan made such a loud, awful clicking sound that it couldn't be used. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, despite it being advertised. I brought all of this to the attention of the front desk and politely asked for a refund due to the unhygienic conditions, broken amenities, and lack of Wi-Fi. Instead of addressing my concerns, they accused me of lying and refused to issue any refund. I ultimately had to walk away at a loss — the place was just that bad. Absolutely do not recommend. Stay far away!

Stayed in Room 108, as before. Everything about the room was outstanding. Plenty of hot water for shower. Coffee machine with packs of coffee was really nice.

The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but the motel is nice for the price, and there are a number of restaurants in the area. The motel, in terms of cleanliness and amenities, met my expectations.

Nothing Everything

The original unit assigned to us was old and smelled stale.The carpet was dirty. There was mold on wood area. The outer part of window AC unit was rusty. I also saw red-color thing attached to the near-to-floor area of a bed frame, which I suspect is jam. Later, we found that there was no hot water in this unit. The receptionist tried to solve the issue first and later followed instructions of a plumber through a phone call. We waited for 1.5 hours to 2 hours, and checked with him about the progress a few times. Eventually, he changed our unit to another one. However, I found that the lock deadbolt of the front door of the second unit didn’t work, and its front door had no other security latches or chain locks. Basically, everyone who had a door access card of the room could unlock the door and enter the room. The receptionist told me that having an electronic key card lock was secure enough for a hotel room, according to the requirements on hotel management. I trusted his words about the requirements. I also trusted him that he had not given and would not give the door access cards of this room to anyone else except me. However, I didn’t want to take any risk, since I am a tiny woman with only a child for the trip. Around 11pm, I checked out and found another hotel.

Looks can decieve. Even though it looks a bit shabby, the room was comfortable, clean and had all amenities needed. Working airconditioner, decent shower, good beds, lot's of toiletries etc. And the location is great, walked to Venice beach in about 30 minutes. For this price you can do a lot worse! Bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper, airco/fridge/fan etc. makes a lot of noise, and if you open a window you'll hear the road outside.

The room had strong urination smell. Left within 10min after checking in. The front desk was very unrespectful during this process. The rating on Orbitz couldn't be misleading more.

Went to the area for medical appt. The place was fine for the price. We had booked somewhere else and right before we got there. They said they were double booked so we booked this place and it worked well for us.

I took pictures as well to provide feedback. I figured that we got what we paid for since we were trying to go the cheap route. There was dust and dirt built up in a lot of places. It looked like the bare minimum was done. Staff that we encountered was friendly. The property is not in a good area it seems so we didn’t venture out at night like we may have.

Family owned older place that will suit your needs if you need the location. Housekeeping is very good.

I reduced a star for the lack of on-site parking. We were directed to a local parking garage a couple blocks away, at a discounted rate, not what we had planned. Otherwise, the property is great, has a nice restaurant and is conveniently located walking distance from the city center.

Walgreens is a 5 min walk. My daughter wanted Thai for dinner and it was a 3 min walk to Celadon and the food was really good! The room has a kitchenette (microwave and mini fridge). The room was dingy, the bathroom fan was caked in dust. And while taking a shower I noticed someone stuck their gum on the top of the tile in the shower. So they don’t deep clean the place. The sheets looked clean and smelled clean. The blanket was almost paper thin. I think if you just need a place to lay your head and don’t plan on spending that much time in your room it’s good for the price. Because the location is great! Parking was good too on the property and staff was friendly.

The room was clean and the property was safe. The building was older. The toilet screeched every time it was flushed. The sink and counter were leaning off the wall, the flusher on the toilet was falling off, and the shower drained very slowly.

One room had obvious signs of bedbugs. They moved us to another room and the bedding was still stained and the bedbug risk didn't seem worth it so we left and stayed somewhere else.

Stayed here before off and on over last few years but now property is in serious decline. Unpleasant mildew odor in rooms, toilet broken and ran all night. Not as decent as it used to be for the price. Needs upgrade and repair. Probably will not stay there again...sad decline.
