Staff were friendly and helpful. Full complimentary breakfast, delicious menu options. The only inconvenience was staying in a room near the railroad tracks. We got used to the train horn after a while.

We were staying above four dumpsters that were emptied at 5 am, right on a commuter train railway which ran (honking) until 12:45 am, resuming at 5 am. And when we arrived, the wing was being renovated—door cracked open to help with awful outgassing. That room was not ready for guests. We were there to be in place for a surgery at Stanford. This was just a terrible experience.

We asked for and were given a quiet room with a courtyard view. Staff were lovely and helpful. Indifferent breakfast - but we cooked breakfast in your room most days.

The staff at this property are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast is top quality. My room was clean and commodious. I will definitely stay at this property again, and I highly recommend it!

We were not expecting a kitchen in our room, and it was a pleasant surprise. The room was larger than a NYC studio apartment. The staff serving the complimentary breakfast went above and beyond to prepare an immaculate buffet. The variety of food served was more than what we expected.

Nice property, but right by the train tracks with a train that goes by blaring its horn very 15 minutes during the day. Recommend you avoid it.

The staff were very nice but we will never stay at this location again. The proximity to the train makes it impossible to get any sleep. The train blows its horn every time it goes by and there were only about 3 hours in the night that it wasn’t happening. The white noise machines, extra curtains, and earplugs are a generous offer but it does no good. Our entire family slept miserably.

The room and amenities really nice

Two negatives: 1. they've shoe-horned the hotel very close to the railroad tracks so get used to the commuter train noise. 2. The room floors are part tile so you can really hear people in the room above walking on the tile floor portion. In fact, the hotel gives you ear plugs!! ...they don't help much. :-(

The breakfast food was hit and miss but it's free and has a number of options. Also some good places to eat in the area. Parking was $12 per night during our stay although you can probably find street parking in the area without paying anything. Criticisms are the free breakfast has a lot of options but it all feels like it's packaged food, and the rooms themselves don't have a lot of "personality" or "charm." Good value and perfect for a trip where we didn't spend a lot of time in the room.

This is a great place to stay if you are traveling with children of all ages. I had three teens and stayed in the two bedroom king suite and it was very comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price and there is something that everyone can enjoy.

This property was everything you could want. Clean, spacious, comfortable, up to date, well equipped, friendly, and convenient. Breakfast was excellent. The only negative was noise from the train, but it was a minor inconvenience.

Convenient location… close to Stanford shopping center, Stanford hospital and down town Palo Alto..

I have stayed at many Residence Inns over the years, and the Palo Alto/Menlo location is by far the nicest and best Residence Inn that I have ever stayed at. I stayed there with my husband and son, and we were all very satisfied with our stay. The 2-bedroom suite that we stayed in, along with the rest of the entire property is very, very clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast did not disappoint either. The food was fresh and hot, and tasted very good. The only downside to this property, is that is close to the train tracks, and the train can be heard throughout the night. However, this did not bother us. In fact, I highly recommend this hotel!

Property was well kept up. It was near train tracks,but I didn’t hear any noise,maybe because it was from Saturday to Sunday? The room was clean and bigger than expected, it came with a nice sized patio. I will be staying here again when I visit the Bay Area.

We stayed for 16 days for medical treatment at Stanford. The Residence Inn was convenient to Stanford and walkable to restaurants. Nice breakfast every morning. The facility is spotless with a nice courtyard area to sit in the sun. It was just what we needed.

Very nice hotel that’s conveniently located in the heart of Menlo Park and close to Stanford. Room was clean, but walls are very thin. I could hear our neighbors next door clearly. The train is also very loud when it passes through. I appreciated the breakfast and friendly staff.

This is also the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. All surfaces and linens have been thoroughly cleaned. It’s about a ten minute drive from Stanford Hospital. I wished I would’ve stayed here for the 3 month period post op for my heart transplant.

The hotel is clean, breakfast is good and the cost is fair, but the parking fee of $12 per night is high.

I was worried about the sound at night from the train nearby so I requested to be on the other side of the building and heard nothing, it was peaceful and so quiet. Morning breakfast was also a great addition. Highly recommended stay!

Only heads up: some rooms face the train tracks and trains blow their whistle when passing by. It didn’t bother me at all but you may ask for a room facing away from tracks if it may bother you.

Great location. We stayed here Christmas Eve to spend the next day with family. We were well rested, had a great breakfast that required disposable gloves and our masks. I felt safe.

There was an absolute raging party 10 doors down the hall at 530am. I can’t believe management didn’t throw these clowns out on their ears.

Stayed here for a girls weekend and it was absolutely perfect! We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was very spacious and well kept. The dishes were freshly washed in the dishwasher and the location was very easy to get to. Lots of choices for restaurants minutes away and could easily walk to. Would definitely stay here again!

It was a very comfortable space with lots of small thoughtful touches like 2 layer light blocking and sound blocking window curtains, white noise machines and a clean/dirty magnet on the dishwasher. They were very thorough in their cleanliness in the common areas and in the rooms. A woman at the front desk explained that lots of people who stay there are getting medical treatments at Stanford so they keep the place as clean as possible.

I recently stayed here for one night while visiting my daughter in college. The staff were awesome, the room was outstanding and overall I couldn't be happier.

I had a great experience coming to this hotel. The room was very very nice and spacious. I will definitely come back again if I ever need to stay in the Bay Area.

Convenient location in Palo Alto/Menlo Park area. This hotel is located right next to the train track so it can be a little loud, but I live in NYC so it didn't bother me too much. Rooms are spacious, breakfast is included. They charge for parking, which is irritating since the rate is already so high.

Helpful staff, clean, new, modern building, with a large, well-appointed room, very comfortable bed, large bathroom. Great lobby and sitting area. Very nice place!! I would stay here again, and definitely recommend!

I have stayed at this property many times, and the high quality is always apparent. The staff is always helpful and glad we are their guests.

Staff is so kind and accommodating. My friend arrived earlier than me and I was able to add her name by just sending a message. The front desk was able to hold our bags while we explored and even gave us suggestions on where to eat. Rooms are clean and spacious with a kitchen.

When they see you booked through someone other than Marriott, they put you in the farthest room on the first floor with the patio opening 60' from the Caltrain tracks.

It was a little noisy, thin walls. The ac is also really noisy.

The staff was very professional, one even remembered our name. The breakfast was good. Room was clean. The location was good. Close to the downtown, shopping mall and Stanford University. The entrance was maybe the only flaw... there was only one way in, and out of the registration parking area. There was parking under neath...other than the minor flaw, enjoyed our experience. We will stay here again!!!!

The room I got was all new , great mattress, showers top notch. The only complaint I had was that the AC system didn't heat the room properly , so they sent us two fan heaters which were good and new, much quieter than the built-in system, so we were very pleased with that. Breakfast was pretty rich, no complaints.

Every detail was thought about. There were even ear plugs and a sound machine. The train whistling (or moaning) through was probably the reason for the sound machine although it stopped later at night. Large bathrooms with plenty of counter space.

Very clean facility. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, away from the train track. Fully furnished kitchen. HUGE bathroom.
