The hotel has a great location, close to Miami port and downtown, with friendly and helpful staff. However, the property is old and in poor condition, with small rooms, noisy air conditioning, and inadequate bathrooms. Some guests reported cleanliness issues and missing amenities.

I think this is a great hotel if you were going to be attending a concert at the Kaseya Center. It’s about a 10 minute walk otherwise I think you could find a little bit better value for what you pay, but the rooms were clean. The staff was nice. It is in a really great location. I would definitely stay again at the next concert.

The hotel smelled not clean. Like mildew. The room however, was clean. Room is way too small. No space at all. TV tinier than a computer screen. Cahnnels very fuzzy and not clear. Window AC.No tables or chairs. It did have an iron, small fridge and microwave. Bathroom is super tiny. The sink is in the room. Noisy hotel. Very bright even with the curtains because it is next to a garage. Very old school. They literally give you a key. This hotel should only be booked if there is LITERALLY no more rooms available in the city. Almost hostel like. The front desk lady was nice tho.

Room was clean but bed was like an oversized foldable cot with a spring mattress that felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Small room is an understatement. One chair with no table to work from, smallest bathroom ever seen. Had to approach sink from the side to use due to space. Tv didn’t work. Ironing board was not useable.

There is a small elevator that barely is big enough for a luggage cart, complimentary water is only available in small flimsy cups, no bottled water. The lobby was the best part of the hotel. The room was like stepping back in time 50+ years ago. The sink is in the room and the air unit is in the wall, trailer style. I did not shower or use the bathroom; it was that bad. There are no USB connections, and you can see thru the door, it has an actual bedroom door doorknob, not exactly safe/secure.

Staff was nice. Location was decent for what I needed. The room was ridiculously bad for the price. Paid over $300 for a bathroom that looked like it was a closet converted into a bathroom. Couldn't even turn around in the shower without knocking into the walls. The sheets had make up or something on them. The TV was tiny. No key cards, but actual physical keys. No parking had to pay extra and walk to the hotel. Would not recommend.

This is the worst place I’ve ever stayed. We paid for 2 nights but only stayed one and didn’t care how much it costed us. Very old and outdated hotel. Thin walls, small rooms, old super uncomfortable beds, stained sheets, tiny bathroom, dirty yucky shower curtain…DONT STAY HERE. As my friend said it’s like the sayin..putting lipstick on a pig. They tried to paint the halls, rooms to make it look nice but it’s terrible!!!

The staff was friendly but the room is very very dated and weird. I slept with all my clothes on and left as soon as the sun came out. There are no night tables. The sink is in front of the bed. The AC was old and loud. It was an actual key for entry/ exit and the door didnt feel securely closed. The mattress was on a metal/ spring base. This hotel is definitely for when roughing it. If i was paying $100 i suppose “ you get what you get” but for $380 whicg was clearly marked up after the winter storm its unacceptable. I actually considered leaving and sleeping in the Airport. Book with caution and low expectations

$300+ for a cheaper than motel feel. The bathroom door couldn't close, the paint on walls were peeling, the sheet on the bed was a dirty yellow instead of the white it looked like it was supposed to be. There was a no smoking sign , but yet the room smelled of cigarettes

Horrible. Not worth the $300+ that I spent on one night. Bathroom smelled. Bed smelled. Everything smelled so bad. The AC is so loud sleep was not possible. They truly trick you with how nice the lobby is. But then you go upstairs and the rooms are horrible. Dirty. Just dirty. The rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. Should not be able to book a room for more than 2 people. Never book this place. Ever. Spend a little more and actually get some sleep somewhere nicer.

They charge like a 4 star hotel but everything looks very cheap and poor. Room was so small that I had a real problem laying it on the floor. Check in was smooth but we got welcomed with a giant roach when I got to our room. The receptionist didn’t us a big hassle she switched our rooms. The rooms are super small they don’t even come with a sofa. The shower is not big enough for a toddler. There’s no parking provided & they just suggested the parking garage. We only stayed one night we just needed somewhere to sleep. This wouldn’t be my first choice of place to stay

PROs 1) Price point $100s less vs newer hotels this close to sea terminal, 2) Our bed had very comfortable mattress, 3) Elly & hotel staff at reception were pleasant, very helpful, knew local places to eat, called an oversized cab for 4 persons with luggage to take us to sea terminal, 4) Cold water in lobby nice touch. CONs This building has issues due to it's age: 1) slow elevator, 2) shower tiles must have been installed by a blind person, 3) key used for suite door locks, 4) Hotel diner was closed / being renovate, so we walked to Flores for best breakfast ever!

Not sure where to start but oh boy… pictures made the room look bigger but when you get there the rooms are a lot smaller including the bathroom…. Idk what hotel keeps a sink outside of the bathroom but this is a first and definitely last time. Me and my friend were shocked by how small the room was since we had a couple suitcases. The room was very neat but it was not clean at all!! I found dead bugs behind the fridge while looking for outlet sources to charge my electronics and came across it. Me and my friend were very disgusted and had to book another hotel. I do give props to the lady at the front desk for being very welcoming and assisting us to our room. Overall, wouldn’t rebook this place again.

The sink is on the outside of the bathroom where the toilet and shower are. Again small, tiny bathroom. Stephanie and the front desk however was AWESOME! NOT worth the $200ish price. They need merge every two rooms into one. The bed barely fit in the room. Thankfully we only needed to stay for one night. Not so great! Elevator was not working and our room was on second floor, I’m somewhat disabled so dragging luggage up a flight of stairs was not fun. No concierge or bell person to assist! At least they changed the room from the third floor to the second! The only restaurant open was a McDonald’s a distance away which was not a choice I would make. Beware! This is NOT a hotel that you would want to bring your family to stay in. After a long, delayed flight we were happy to near our hotel in Miami, however, the Uber driver did not even know where the hotel was, which is strange for an Uber driver. Then we checked-in and were handed a physical key, not a key card or fab. When we went up to the room, we opened the door to a bed full of stains and a very strong obscene smell in the room. The window could have been city facing, however, we could not see through the cheap plastic material it was made up of from what could have been the 1980s. When we asked for a room that matched the pictures and description we saw online, they gave us 2 more options. These were no different than the first room. At 2:00am we were forced to find another hotel in the area that had availability. This is the type of hotel that one may rent by the hour, but not one that you would want to sleep in during your stay in the Miami area.

My room was absolutely disgusting. There were black dots and stains all over my sheets. The air conditioner was not working properly, I was sweating after only being in there for a few minutes. There was a used bandaid sitting on the bed. It smelled horrible in the room as well, which could have even been from having no air running when I came in. I ended up giving them my key and driving home in the middle of the night after walking into what I saw. I have never had this experience at a hotel before, where it was so dirty I couldn’t even sleep there. I was with one of my girlfriends and I was promised “24 hour security”. We walked into the hotel lobby freely with not a single worker in sight. I waited a few minutes to try to talk to someone and still nobody showed up. I was worried being two woman in a hotel where anyone could walk in and use the elevator to get to your room with no key. Another thing I have never experienced at a hotel before. I want a refund on my money considering I couldn’t even stay there because of how dirty the room was and how there was absolutely no security in a downtown Miami hotel.

Does not provide refunds, room was small, hot, bathroom sink was next to the bed, no outlets near the bed for recharging, no cable TV, cramped room, no king sized bed, no breakfast, dirty coffee area in lounge, no card keys

I left a gold ring at the room by mistake and the person I called refused to check the room and told me that they will check in 2hr and then I called 2hr later but the same person told me that the ring was not there, that does not sounds legit.

Good location, pleasant staff, good value. I’d only stay here short term and alone, rooms are small, property is dated and could use some updating, bed wasn’t uncomfortable but felt funky. My flight got in at 4am and I just needed a place to crash, this place did it’s job

We stayed here for Miami music week, and it was okay. It got the job done. But beware it is really really small. The room is hardly larger than a king sized mattress. The bathroom/sink is really small and hard to get ready in. But for the price it was okay I guess.

The room was surprisingly small, as in the door to the room only opened part-way because it banged into one of the beds, the bathroom sink was located in the bedroom area, and had there been more than two people staying in this two-double bed room, it would have been almost impossible to navigate around one another. Also, a shocking dearth of electrical outlets. That said, nice decor.

The Miami Sun Hotel is a complete dump. The pictures shown tel 10% of the story. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and for $440 no less.

I have never ever written a review before, ever. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The pictures are more then just misleading. This hotel shouldn’t cost $20 a room and I was charged $570 for 2 rooms. My and my group went up to the rooms. The AC wasn’t on in the rooms. The beds were tiny, and the bathrooms were the smallest I had ever seen in my life. The room was dirty and there were 2 roaches in one of my rooms. So after looking over the rooms and discussing what we would do for about 30 minutes we headed down. The staff at the desk was extremely, extremely rude and just outright disrespectful. He told me that he couldn’t give me a refund but that his manager that comes in at 8am could. So we left and drove back up to Tampa at 1am in the morning (a almost 5 hour drive - that’s how bad it was). At 9am I called and spoke to their manager and she refused to give me any refund and was extremely rude and unprofessional in every way. I had never been treated like that before. Oh and the hotel is in a very sketchy and unsafe area, and there parking is extremely expensive. Please to anyone who reads this, never even consider this hotel. This was the worst experience I have been had and it also cost me over $500, as I was outright lied to by there staff.

Very basic. OK for a night intransit but for multiple days definitely not. Only decent food is a fantastic Peruvian place about 3 blocks away. Recptionist absolutely great. Use Uber beause Yellow Cab only want high mileage fares and will keep you waiting never to appear.

Had a terrible night stay. Room was not as pictured. Overpriced. Door to the bathroom would not close or lock. One kind of soap for the shower. Overall a horrible experience. Would not recommend to others

I was there to attend a concert at FTX and it is very well located for that. The room was clean. Other than that it was exceedingly basic--tiny tv with minimal stations, loud room airconditioner, thin towels. Overpriced--I booked long ago and paid too much.
