Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its location, unique style, and friendly staff. However, there are mixed reviews about the quality of service, cleanliness, and condition of the rooms.
- Great location close to the beach and local attractions
- Unique and charming style of the hotel
- Inconsistent service quality
- Rooms can be small, noisy, and in need of maintenance

I called 3 times for info, too book and for directions and parking and each time I called, it answered quickly and the front ask helped with whatever I needed. Check In was easy. Our rooms were spotlessly clean. We ate outside at their restaurant and service was quick and efficient. The food was excellent. We really loved their open coffee and ice water bar. It was a very nice amenity . They have an ice machine down stairs and I was down there filling up my ice bucket for my water bottles. E Z no problems. The location is great. The beach is across the street. The staff is warm and personable. Even when we are outside we never had to ID our selves as hotel guests, they just knew and always gave us a % discount which is really nice.

Location and clean Nothing

Friendly staff lovely hotel would stay here again

Location is good Boxy room , Fix window glass is frausted and can't see anywhere Housekeeping is not satisfactory, food quality is poor

Good
- 4/5
Clean room, very friendly staff. Sketchy elevator. Maybe there was another one I wasn’t aware of but I couldn’t get it to come to the 2nd floor so I had to carry my very heavy bags down the stairs. Just a minor inconvenience to me but could be a major one to someone else. I’m sure if I would’ve called the front desk they would’ve been more than happy to help!
- 2/5
Disappointing
- 4/5
Great location, tasty breakfast (but there are a bit better options outside the hotel for a similar price), amazing art deco lobby (but the rooms are more modest), friendly staff Only sun beds are included in the resort fee, and you have to pay extra for an umbrella. In the room, you cannot fully close the rolling bathroom doors - there is a 5-10cm gap, what makes you feel a little uncomfortable while using the toilet and another person is in the room.
- 3/5
Super cute and great location. Waiting staff was great and front was nice but a little lack of communication. Our room air wasn’t working really well so they switched our room and comp our breakfast the rest of the stay.
- 3.5/5
The location is perfect! Close to the beach, main attractions and restaurants. Hotel: We were first placed to room 317. I have to say that the room is bigger than the other ones, but, AC doesn't work, wifi reception is awful and mini fridge didn't get any cold. Then, The hotel concierge (Big THANK YOU to Alejandro) moved us to room 312. It was amazing. No issues at all. Concierge: People are simply amazing! They did their best to make us comfortable. Room 317. The room has so many issues to be fixed.
- 4/5
The staff were incredibly helpful, kind and attentive. I can’t say enough kind words about them, everyone you meet is happy to elevate your stay. It’s a boutique hotel and its charm is beautiful. We loved everything about the visit.
- 5/5
My hotel experience was relaxing and memorable from start to finish. When I arrived, the staff greeted me warmly and checked me in quickly, making me feel welcomed right away. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged, with comfortable bedding and a great view from the window. Throughout my stay, the amenities—like the fitness center, pool, and complimentary breakfast—added extra convenience and enjoyment. What stood out most was the attentive service; whenever I needed anything, the staff responded promptly and kindly. Overall, the stay felt both comfortable and refreshing, making it an experience I would gladly repeat.
- 4.5/5
The location was great and the art deco decor was perfect for the area. The staff was very helpful, gave us some great suggestions. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The outlets could have been more plentiful and maybe a little more space to set things down but very cute room.
- 5/5
Over was what I was loôking an hôtel you full like home by the beach and the ciné on South Beach
- 5/5
Customer service was excellent! The vibe was just as I would imagine for Miami.......Amazing
- 5/5
It's on a relatively calm end of Ocean Drive in South Beach. Lots of places were walkable. Things were clean and quiet up on the third floor. Alejandro was able to take care of any needs or questions I had. Know that the resort fees cover two chairs at a specific vendor at the beach, but an umbrella costs an extra $20.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and accommodating.
- 1/5
What made the experience worse was his attitude — he stated that he “just works here” and did not care about our opinions, telling us to discuss it with management later. On top of that, we waited about 20 minutes just to get chicken, while there was nobody available at the front desk for assistance. Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences we have had, especially after a long travel day. We expected basic hospitality, communication, and concern for guest comfort, but unfortunately did not receive any of that.
- 5/5
Great staff and easy access to the beach! Beautiful hotel and would recommend it to anyone!
- 5/5
Beautiful Boutique Hotel, very comfortable and the location is on point.
- 5/5
The hotel is not perfect but the staff made my stay wonderful. Did not find the spot to get your free lounge chair at the beach. After walking for like it felt forever I asked someone and pointed a half mile from where I was. Valet parking was expensive but it was advertised so there was no surprises

Such a wonderful location, superb staff and very comfortable room. We were worried about the air conditioning, however it was exceptional and we were so thankful for the relief from the heat. William and everyone else made our stay perfect! We will be back!! Nothing could have been better. We loved everything!

The great location of this hotel and nice room It's incredibly noisy on the first floor. If you have a room on the first floor, you'll hear everything that's going on in the lobby, at reception, what the staff is saying, what's going on in the kitchen, and so on.This is very important for those who have jet lag and who sleep during the day.
- 1.5/5
. NO HOT WATER, ROOM WAS TINY,, FAKE WINDOW WITH SHADES, NO TRUE WINDOW TO EVEN SEE THROUGH, IT WAS A TINY BOX, ONE LITTLE CHAIR, NO TABLE. AC WAS COMMUNITY AND DIDNT FUNCTION PROPERLY. DON'T STAY HERE
- 4/5
I spent 3 days and was amazing, the location was incredible, the room beautiful, air conditioned and elevator worked and was good, the only problem is that they gibe you chairs for the beach and then they force you to pay for umbrella, I would rather dont have anything but the sneaky way the umbrella people worked was not good. But to be honest I would go back to that hotel many many more times, it was as beautiful as it was on the pictures and more.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic building . But no view. Loved the elevator.
- 3/5
Rooms on the first floor are directly across their lobby/restaurant .they are extremely loud. There is construction going on . Not disclaimed. A/c in many units are running bad.(we got 2 bedrooms) . Elevator is cute but doesn’t work well. Beach cabana that provides chairs( third part) is 2 blocks away from the hotel and not across the street .
- 3/5
Very comfortable room and hotel
- 5/5
While our room faced the building next to us, the atmosphere and character of the hotel was top notch. William checked us in with enthusiasm and Alexander made our check out smooth and offfered some hotel history while we waited for the taxi he called for us. Excellent stay, loved the location to the beach and the restaurants on the strip.
- 5/5
Room was clean and had ocean views. The staff was amazing! We ate a breakfast and a dinner at the hotel and both were amazing as well!
- 5/5
Food is serve in small portions, but good and decent price, drinks are expensive, but not as expensive as other places close by. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to beach, very friendly/safe environment, and all the employees are very accommodating and polite. There was some miscommunication with the breakfast, because in our end said breakfast included, but the folks in the hotel said that breakfast was not included in our stay; we didn't argue, but other than that, it is an excellent location and easy to check in and out.
- 5/5
Its my fourth time there and i loved it
- 5/5
Very cool and unique property in the perfect location
- 3/5
Great location but the hotel is very loud. It’s old so all wood floors make it loud when cleaners are cleaning anywhere near your room or people just walking around in general.
- 5/5
Clean room , friendly staff , bar , and nearby restaurant and the beach. For parking there’s a garage $20 for 24hrs GREAT Deal.
- 5/5
Rooms are clean and they have quality linen. I will recommend the hotel.
- 5/5
The suite is the way to go, the ocean view is amazing. Philip at the front was a tremendous help as was all the staff. This is an old school relaxed vibe if that’s what you’re looking for.
- 4/5
The bathroom had a pedestal sink and a tiny shelf for items. No hooks in bathroom to hang bathing suits and etc. Breakfast was great! Staff was wonderful!
- 5/5
This is a beautifully kept art deco building. Check in was adequate in the evening. Philip was the front desk staff person the next day, and he made this place feel special. He took extra steps that made us feel well cared for, like getting the elevator. His kindness and authenticity made us feel like we were in a different era, in line with our surroundings. We enjoyed our stay. The location was wonderful. The room size is small, but as expected from the time period of the building.
- 5/5
Excellent staff, desk staff was welcoming and pleasant at all hours. Cleaning staff was diligent and happy. Great hotel! Great location
- 2/5
My TV wouldn’t work and I only got one channel. They told me to tell the manager in the morning and they’d knock $35 off the room for the trouble. The room was clean, but the acoustics were bad and you could hear every move your neighbors made.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect . I would stay there again
- 5/5
Great location, staff and stay at the cavalier.
- 5/5
Exactly as advertised on Ocean Blvd.
- 5/5
No view of anything except alley. I don’t need a view I’m there to sleep. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Loved the 1930s decor and the old style music inside and more modern vibe outside.
- 5/5
The Cavalier is a quirky, fun hotel in the art deco district. It’s near the quieter end, so it’s perfect for adults, they provide beach access and free chairs, the restaurant is great- a mix of American and Italian. The employees are nice, Philip checked us in and Lester was our wonderful bar tender and server and had our drinks waiting! We should be back in six months for our bi annual girls trip! The rooms are quirky and cute and really loved the stylized feel with the older touches they preserved! Room was super clean, breakfast cost less than Starbucks and was so much better! Loved the original elevator- a must try- and just the whole vibe! This is old Miami at its best!
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable room. Beautiful historic building full of character.
- 5/5
Loved the location, room was nice, bathroom very small, very friendly staff, slow service at restaurant in the morning. Will go back
- 5/5
Good experience, great check-in experience, clean hotel.. definitely one of my favorites. I’ve stayed in Art Deco District.
- 5/5
Great location, clean room and beautiful.
- 4/5
Excellent location, staff is awesome, beds are comfy. Rooms are small but nice. Only complaint was no hot water!! Took freezing cold showers after the beach. Not fun. But they give you towels for the beach and free beach chairs at the beach which is amazing! If you need an umbrella you pay $20 extra for one from Esteban’s Beach Club. And Pura Vida restaurant is super close to the beach for the best food around.
- 5/5
The Cavalier Hotel has so much character. We loved the history and vintage feel. Can't wait to stay there again.
- 5/5
An iconic and beautiful hotel with timeless Art Deco charm. William and Alexander were wonderfully welcoming and made our stay especially enjoyable. We had lunch at the restaurant one afternoon, and the lobster ravioli was outstanding. The location in the Ocean drive is perfect, not too close to the noise, but yet in the center of the action, and very close to the beach.
- 3/5
meh
- 3/5
Lets be clear, you stay here for the location and the art deco building. Amenities are just OK. Staff is friendly but rooms are dated. Sofa bed for my 2 daughters was broken (room 301). No common area (lounge to seat down and relax), it is all restaurant. So this is one of those “been there donde that” kind of places. Next time either a B&B or a large chain hotel.
- 4/5
The room has very thin walls and the AC isn’t good.
- 5/5
La ubicación es excelente, el personal muy amigable y servicial, el restaurante tiene un menú exquisito
- 4/5
Bed was comfortable. Vibe was funky and cool. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Courteous staff. Great location
- 4/5
Prime location within walking distance to all the hot spots. Included are 2 beach chairs with towels per day. Philip at the concierge received us warmly…checking us in early and giving us great recommendations. Room was a great size, A/C, with bathroom amenities. Overall, totally recommend.
- 2/5
If you find your room is near an elevator just trust me and leave. The elevator was in use all hours of the night and it sounded like someone was whipping our wall at all hours (203). This AM the elevator service repair man was there running it constantly (we left by 9:20 so it was early). When we actually got on the elevator the day of our arrival it would go up and down a few inches and fail to unlock the gate when it stopped on our floor, so I understand the repair/maintenance check. When we were preparing to leave the mechanic wouldn't get off the elevator in order for us to get on with our luggage so 2 of the 4 of us had to take the stairs with large luggage to check out. This is an old hotel, the rooms are tiny and you will hear everything going on above you its charming but I have learned my lesson on the older hotels on the beach. It sounded as though furniture was being moved around all morning above us (wood flooring and tile). I would never stay here again especially for the fee we paid $286. I would have paid $200 more for our party of 4 to sleep. Also the web states there is Valet, but you have to park in a lot around the block $20/night.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. Hotel was super clean and the food was amazing.
- 5/5
Staff was great. The in-house restaurant was really good.
- 5/5
This was my 2nd stay at this hotel - 1st time was 7 years ago in 2019. And as before, the cleanliness, prime location across the beach, 24 hour reception, welcoming staff, and reasonable walking distance to various eateries/shopping areas make this hotel an excellent value. It is a comfortable and clean hotel which serves its purpose of being a reputable hotel for safekeeping your belongings and where to spend your nights sleeping well when not out and about exploring all that Miami has to offer. Highly recommended and a solid go-to when in town and looking for a place to stay.
- 5/5
Yes and yrs
- 5/5
Everything was great! Location was perfect too.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Great location very cute clean room. Only downfall our room was on first floor close to the lobby/dinning area. We could hear people talking and chairs moving all night while trying to sleep.
- 3/5
Only 1 channel for TV - Checking was long and felt distracting to do.
- 3/5
I prepaid everything in advance but got a surprise $39 charge for some unknown reason. The receptionist told me what it was I just didn’t understand what he said.
- 5/5
Very cool vintage style hotel. Rooms were comfortable and clean! Hotel restaurant had great options and great food! The bar has good drinks and is very conveniently located. Great location to great food, bars and beach. I would stay here again for sure!
- 5/5
If they were transparent about it, ok. I would be ok. Then they said they are out of the 'free' wine, but could charge me $8 for a Heineken. Then couldn't get the elevator to work (we were on the 2nd floor thank God) The room was in good shape. The parking is what set off the chain for me. It's not hard to update a website. Or at least tell your staff what to say. Ended up parking in the City parking garage. I'd give it like a 75/100.
- 3/5
The hotel was great for a last minute booking. The food was amazing.
- 5/5
Staff was great, elevator is tired, but I loved the proximity to everything
- 4/5
Perfect location and great bonus with beach towels and two free chairs on the beach.
- 5/5
Nice room with so much upgrades. Liked the decorations in the lobby and inspiring funny quotes. You will see the vibes and find something to cherish once you walk through the alleys or step through the staircases .
- 5/5
The beds were extremely comfortable and the service was excellent!
- 2/5
Accessible to beach
- 2/5
Beds are so squeaky!
- 4/5
Nice staff, great area
- 5/5
Room was perfect. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Friendly staff!
- 4/5
Really comfortable bed! Great location. Free coffee in lobby. Good for a few nights but nowhere to put luggage if packed for longer. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay for it being our first time in Miami. The hotel was clean and perfectly sized for a nice short trip. Location was incredible being on Ocean drive. Pricing was extremely fair for it being a holiday week and the service was incredible. Thank you for a good time and a pleasant stay!
- 5/5
In south beach! Great customer service and rooms are nice and big!! Beds comfortable
- 3/5
The room was not well soundproofed. Too much noise late at night and early in the morning made it difficult to rest.
- 3/5
Beautiful lobby in the Art Deco style. Rooms are very small. The AC did not work in our room. There was no hot water during our two day stay. The elevator is small and antique and does not work well.
- 5/5
Room was amazing and staff where better
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice and very clean. All staff were very frindly and helpful. The only down side is that you can here everything from hallway throughout the night.
- 4/5
Clean rooms and nice location
- 1/5
On the day of my stay, there was no hot water available at the hotel. I was informed that hot water would not be restored until the following morning. I was not provided with any accommodations or alternative arrangements, and I have not received a refund or compensation for this inconvenience. I requested a full refund for the stay due to the lack of essential amenities and they took me through hell to get it. 11/10/25
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff was friendly beach, restaurants and shops nearby. Also a convenient parking garage within walking distance.
- 4/5
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location with great accommodations such as discounts for breakfast and dinner. The room was cleaned every day and replenished. The only thing is that you can hear everything from the other rooms and the bed was hard. Overall, we would stay at this resort again.
- 5/5
Great location, very friendly staff. Keys didn’t work at 1st but was quickly fixed.
- 4/5
Great location, the staff were friendly and professional
- 5/5
Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom doesn't have a proper door that locks. It's only a sliding door, which we found difficult for privacy. All the staff we met were also very friendly and helpful. The only note for anyone looking to stay at this property is that the hotel itself doesn't have any parking. There is a Municipal Parking Garage right around the corner from the hotel. We found it very convenient to park there (including overnight parking). It's open 24 hours, clean, has stairs and elevators to get to the street.
- 5/5
Fantastic service, great restaurant downstairs, super convenient for beach access, shopping and dining!
- 5/5
A beautiful hotel with amazing hospitality! I will stay here again as long as they get the elevator serviced!!!
- 5/5
Staff was absolutely amazing
- 5/5
The staff greeted us wonderfully. The room is clean. The VIP perk was pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Perfect location. Cool little hotel with the coolest elevator I’ve ever been in. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Great staff. Nice rooms close to beach
- 5/5
Met and exceeded all expectations.
- 3/5
The location is on a 'quiet' South Beach block directly across from the beach. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Bus and trolley public transportation within two blocks. The beach chairs/towels were a nice amenity, but there really were not any other notable 'special' amenities. While the property was very clean, the antiquated elevator (from the 1930s?) to the upper floors was broken about 80% of our stay, we were assigned to a room that had a noisy rodent in the air vent that they REFUSED to respond and remove, and the restaurant food was bland and billing charged an automatic 20% gratuity without legible warning. The lobby staff were very detached and standoffish, never greeted with friendly smile.
- 5/5
Really clean hotel!
- 5/5
My stay was
- 5/5
Loved the Art Deco look of the rooms, lobby and hallway. Staff was very kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Excellent spot right on Ocean Drive in South Beach. The room was a bit small but the service was excellent. Great breakfast options.
- 5/5
Really nice and historic for my first visit. I wish that the streaming channels were accessible though.
- 4/5
The hotel was very well located near 13th street. It was also lined in either side with “art deco” style hotels which made for scenic walks in the vicinity. Conveniently close to beaches and a restaurant on service at all hours. One minor quibble is the fish room spaces and not always reliable elevator. But on the upside the staff went out of their way to accommodate a problem we experienced.
- 1/5
No air conditioning in room
- 4/5
The restaurant was nothing special.
- 4/5
The property was quaint and had a lot of character. Staff was nice enough and location was walking distance to most things.
- 5/5
The experience was wonderful. Nice comfortable stay right across from the beach. Good location amongst everything. The mall is literally around the corner, restaurants & bars along the strip,ll last but not least there’s shops for swim wear & beach gear right in the same block. I definitely would stay here again.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel right on Ocean Drive in South Beach. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the beach and in the heart of all the action. The customer service was attentive and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. The on-site restaurant was a pleasant surprise—great food, good vibes, and drinks. The decor throughout the hotel is stylish and inviting, with that classic South Beach charm. Highly recommend for anyone looking to soak up the Miami vibe in comfort and style!
- 5/5
Stayed here for one night with my wife and we loved our stay. Would definitely be coming back
- 4/5
I liked the bathroom. It was very pretty except for the fact that the bathroom door didnt close all the way and that you could peek into the bathroom. The room was quite small though
- 5/5
Overall, the property is great and it’s very close to the beach , the Check in staff was great and friendly. And the bedrooms are renovated very good . However, the bathroom has a sliding door which is glass when you are in the bathroom, your shadow can be seen by the person that is in the bedroom.
- 5/5
Overall, I enjoyed my stay would definitely go back
- 5/5
Amazing place!!! There is a parking garage right behind the property and only 20$ for 24 hours and 2$ an hour. Much cheaper than the valley parking(they probably just park the car there anyways. It’s a public parking garage and there were a lot of spots open the two days we went. The room was beautiful and excellent view
- 5/5
This is a very nice boutique hotel…. Very clean.. friendly staff… I loved the decor!! My only concern was the squeaky bed…. Good thing this was a solo trip cause ummmm that squeaking would have made me change hotels… very nice stay tho!!
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff
- 3/5
Beautiful art deco room. Wonderful staff. Excellent location. Will stay here again. Only downfall I can say was no fresh coffee until 730.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic building in the heart of Miami south beach!
- 1/5
Hotel did not have AC. They offerered a small old fan that just made hot air go everywhere. Horrible stay: then a resort fee for towers and wifi? Really? Ridiculous,
- 1/5
Location of property was good but room very dirty horrible bed and service
- 5/5
Perfectly located on Ocean Drive with an old-school Art Deco vibe that feels both historic and fresh. The room was spotless, the A/C was ice cold, and the bed was genuinely comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. You’re across from the beach, but it still feels like a quiet escape. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 4/5
This was a classic art deco buildings with plenty of character. The location and the staff was the best part. Age of building aside some issues I had were the need for more mirrors, barn door for the bathroom (pocket door might be better), there was only a rainfall shower head which freezes you when you turn the shower on, due to shower surround. Other than that pleasant enough. Good option for a short stay and South Beach experience.
- 3/5
Just ok. Hide a bed in sofa would not fold back up. Hairdryer in room was also broken. Open style shower gets bathroom floor soaked every shower. Location and view from room are very good. Staff is friendly.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Sofa bed mattress was horrible!
- 5/5
LOVED the hotel, great breakfast and so close the beach!
- 5/5
Beautiful property!!! We really enjoyed it and the staff was so friendly. Walking distance or the beach and beach chairs available as well
- 5/5
This is the second time I've stayed at this property with my relatives, and we always enjoy our stay. Great location, great staff and nice rooms. Very convenient and good restaurant
- 3/5
Breakfast is not good
- 5/5
The restaurant is really great...delicious food. And you cvna't beat the location, right a cross from the beach!
- 2/5
First and foremost, I usually don’t complain about hotels because I know there’s usually something that is gonna go wrong or may not be perfectly clean etc. I always bring my own cleaning wipes etc. Upon arrival I was expecting valet because it’s listed as such on Expedia but the host said it’s not recommended and advised to use parking garage. Slight inconvenience but ok. Got into room, very stuffy and refrigerator not working to put drinks in. I had cooler thankfully but was ready to hit beach so turned air down expecting to be cooler when getting back. Lights so dim around nook in refrigerator to make sure was plugged but couldn’t see anything so just got aggravated and left it. Long story short most miserable sleeping conditions ever because so hot never got cool. Loud noise, white noise couldn’t even drown out all the people talking and laughing. Another advertisement of soundproof rooms that’s def false. Got up in middle night and had to get fan. Upon checkout voiced all complaints and was told oh sorry we were having AC problems yesterday. Def should have been made aware of this upon CHECK-IN not check-out. Only compensation was the 40 dollar resort fee that we didn’t use anyway. I wouldn’t be making this negative room if the hotel did better making this right.
- 5/5
Great spot to be for our first visit to Miami. Loved being by the beach and all of the other fun places nearby. It was quieter than expected at night. The staff were all very nice and helpful when needed too.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
This hotel was noisey. I expected some outside noise since its right on Ocean Drive, but I didn't expect all the internal noise. It was very easy to hear in other rooms and the first floor was open to the lobby and you could hear staff changes and lobby noise down the hall. It was
- 5/5
Good location.
- 5/5
Great place. I’ve stayed there several times.
- 3/5
The property was decent, and maintenance and cleanliness were fine, but it's not been updated much, and they were short staffed. The room night price seemed high relative to value. Would recommend, as the staff they have is enthusiastic, and the location is in the midst of everything South Beach.
- 5/5
We arrived early and our room was ready so we were able to check in. Phillip at the front desk was very friendly and helpful when we asked him for suggestions for things to do. An added bonus was the towels and chairs on the beach were included. Everything is walkable!
- 4/5
Don't plan on using the one elevator because it is old school with a gate and takes a long time. Rooms are small and bathroom but it was fine for our two night stay.
- 2/5
Nothin spectacular I fell like I was in motel 6
- 5/5
Very clean. Excellent staff and a good breakfast. Brilliant location with parking facility at rear. Hotel hs loads of charm and character.
- 5/5
Everything else was superb with the exception of their antiquated elevator. We got stuck twice, therefore, stopped using it. Fortunately, we were only on the second floor.
- 1/5
It was horrible very very bad

3rd floor noise toooo much. I don’t know about the 2nd floor but the 3rd floor is terrible when the heat starts working. The heating unit on the roof is noisy tooooo much.

Location and art Decco Style. Also a fridge in the room.

Walls super thin , elevator older than Biden , bathroom smelled like pee . Resort fee was stupid to pay for :/ $79 for a beach towel and 2 beach chairs , but you will have to pay $25 for an umbrella make it make sense . No valet parking was told to use parking garage , short walk but advertised valet parking . Staff were cool and helpful . Food at the other hotels near by was so good , love that I was right across from the beach

Great hotel with great staff and amenities.

I was attending a conference and am thankful that my wife was not with me; she would not have put up with this. First night the fire alarm went off at 4am; someone smoking in their room, I believe. Second night an hour long heated discussion in the lobby; not sure why the front desk couldn’t get them to use their ‘indoor’ voice or step out on the porch to resolve.

Ok location, could hear the full conversation of people in the next room, therefore didn’t sleep well cause they were there to party, was the end of spring break and getting into property was awful zero communication from the hotel that major roads were closed has to valet park on another street when calling hotel it just rang and rang not great.

Great property - my go to for South Beach.

GREAT LOCATION AND STAFF

So the hotel LOOKS great. It has a 1920s vibe. However, nothing is functional. The elevator operates like its from the 1920s and shakes when youre in it. It oftentimes wont open without the staff using a screwdriver. The phone did not work. The tvs did not work. Our doors lock looks like it was broken into with a screwdriver and didnt close all the way so we couldnt use the deadbolt. The pull-out sofa's mattress was about 1" thick and couldnt be slept on. The blinds either wouldnt open or wouldnt close. The bed felt like a bench. The only thing that worked was the plumbing. Never again

They allowed us to check-in early (11:00 AM) which was perfect since we departed a cruise ship at 8:00 AM. We were given towels for the beach and access to beach chairs. Perfect location for walking South Beach!!!!

We were given a room 102 right next to reception. It was too loud. The guy who stayed overnight on the lobby coughed without stopping. The bar/ restaurant in the lobby started to make noises at 6 am.We could not sleep. Terrible experience.

Property cancelled my reservation at 4:30pm the day of check-in without contacting me.
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and breakfast was good at the hotel. The elevator is very old and needs replaced.
- 5/5
Great if you want to be close to South Beach and a no frills place to crash. Hotel has a nice early 20th century character and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Wonderful stay..

The first floor isn’t the most ideal level. Noise all day and into almost 11 pm. It would be wise for the hotel to invest in better and quieter door silencers and a double door mini vestibule into the first floor rooms. The front desk needs some training on hospitality.
- 4/5
The location can’t be beat. The beds, very comfortable. The only downside is the rooms had no place to hang wet or used towels. Steps to the beach and minutes to get the beach chairs included in our stay. I also did not love the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. But the shower itself was terrific.

Historic property, but in good condition. Perfect location!

Great hotel. The elevator is a little outdated but overall excellent choice

Perfect location in a classy and classic hotel. Clean and comfortable.

The team and management with Cavalier hotel was phenomenal! They went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and enjoy my stay. The airline lost my luggage and they had a ton of problem solving recommendations as well as making sure to notify me as soon as my bag arrived. Not only did they have it ready for me, but helped me bring it to my room! I’m sure there are fancier places to stay, but I will be coming back here for the hospitality!

Food, service, cleanliness was excellent. Did not care for the elevator so we had to take our luggage down using the stairs
- 4/5
Elevator was really neat but very noisy if your room is adjacent to it.
- 5/5
The one and only thing I didn’t like about this location was that it’s not advertised on the hotels site or by Expedia that there is no parking at the hotel- you have to pay in the public parking areas and walk to the hotel. Again no issue paying to park or walking, just wish I had known that ahead of time for better planning. Otherwise it’s amazing and exactly what we needed

Location - Right on Ocean Drive Breakfast with 6 different options to choose from Complimentary tea/coffee 24/7 Cons- Very small room. Do not choose if you are travelling with Kids Resort fee of 29USd is not justified. You dont get anything in return

Great location. Beach access and breakfast included. Good value.

Great location great team .

Great property. Quick check in. Our room was ready even before checkin time.

Mostly things went well untill they did not process refund for my security deposit. I was told that refund was issued & still haven’t received proof of that. Highly disappointed. They told me that my bank has put a hold, but I called the bank and found out it was never refunded.

Because a restaurant is making use of much of the lobby, the porch and the sidewalk in front of the hotel, it is no longer possible to sit as a resident of the hotel on the hotels front porch except as a paying customer of the restaurant. the staff of the hotel we're ready at a moment's notice to offer help or to answer any question. They keep the place running wonderfully well. In the rooms, the showers are designed that they allow water onto the floor too easily. This has the potential for a slip and fall. The A/C seems to diminish, typically around 4am, and then, 30 minutes later, resume.
- 3/5
The location is great! The breakfast is sit-to-order style with a small amount and not many selections
- 3/5
The front desk staff was helpful and pleasant. The resort fee includes free breakfast options but it is not worth it in my opinion. $35 a day could have gotten me more than 1 piece of bacon, 1pancake and unseasoned eggs/potatoes. It take forever for breakfast servers to even acknowledge you. Location was perfect for other food and entertainment options. Nothing lavish but it gets the job done.
- 3/5
Very nice hotel but the vintage elevator is out and have to go 3 flights of stairs with luggage!
- 5/5
The hotel has unique features, which make the experience authentic. It is small, so fortunately, it does not have a "hotel" feel—more like a boutique hotel. Restaurant food is good. Thank God breakfast is not an open buffet! I did not feel bloated like the open buffet breakfasts at other hotels. The shower head could be tricky, so ask the front desk if you cannot figure it out. And, there is no hotel parking! A public parking is available and only a few steps away. The front desk associate, Juan S., made my check-in experience great. His kind, respectful, and empathetic manners and expertise helped relieve my frustration due to parking issues. Thank you Juan S.!

Elegant interior, coffe and iced water ready at all times at the reception area, elevator needs fixing

It was on the beach

The thermostat didn’t work so I couldn’t put the heat on when it got cold at night and the elevator didn’t work properly

Great place right on the beach, no cars in front of the building.

We stayed here as a staycation for New Years as we were headed to a party nearby. The location is great, very walkable right on Ocean drive and direct to the beach. Beach towels and chairs on the beach are included, and it was a plus a decent breakfast was part of our package, so it had all we needed! Upon arrival the staff was friendly. The lobby is pretty with deep green and gold deco and art deco fixtures. It's a boutique hotel, so the rooms are smaller but tastefully decorated, shower is clean, and comfy beds. We stayed on the 1st floor, which I read on the other reviews the first floor can be noisy, understandable since it's an older building and the doors have a little gap. It wasn't a dealbreaker as we were there for New Years. We just placed a towel on the base of the door and that buffered most of the foot traffic noise - I'd recommend the hotel maybe provide a door gap buffer as an easy solution. But overall a great stay!
