Convenient location for what I needed, but not fabulous hotel

A very clean, well kept property for our stay when we come to visit family. We usually end up with a suite which is nice and we enjoy the extra room during our stay. We have always had excellent service while staying here and especially enjoy the courtyard. It has great access to the 241 making it super convenient to arrive and depart.

I got a massage and facial from the spa...one of the best massages I have had EVER!! Like I didn't want it to end. The specialist for the facial helped me with a clogged pore that I had been trying to do FOREVER! I was so happy. I think the only thing I would ask would be to update the COX boxes so that we can stream Netflix and other services on our own account. But I will be back asap! I went for a relaxingly long weekend by myself. Now I want to bring my family!

The property was very nice and the room was clean and quiet

To be discreet and avoid displaying the stained pillowcase in front of other guests, I brought it to the front desk office while my husband waited by the counter. We were simply trying to explain the situation and make staff aware of the issue. We were not seeking compensation or any special accommodation; our only intention was to report the condition of the pillowcase. Unfortunately, the front desk representative responded in a manner that I found extremely rude and dismissive. While I was attempting to explain the situation, I felt rushed and was nearly pushed out of the office before I could finish speaking. The interaction was upsetting and made me feel that my concerns were not being taken seriously. I am sharing this feedback not because of the stained pillowcase itself, but because of the way the situation was handled. I believe guests should be treated with courtesy and professionalism when bringing legitimate concerns to the attention of hotel staff.

Only thing bad is it smelled bad in the hallway

Our go to for tournament weekends. Room had fridge, microwave, coffee and our kids enjoyed pool and parents enjoyed the bar/restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful!

Very nice staff and very clean. We were only there for one night and were attending an event so we really didn’t get to take advantage of the amenities. The bar looked nice and we did get the included breakfast in the morning. It was your typical scrambled eggs, etc. but nice that it was included.

The hotel is very nice.. Staff are courteous. The free breakfast is fantastic. Rooms are clean. The only thing that disappoints me is the TVs when you turn it on no connection. It happens about 95% of the time.

Close to places we were interested in Rooms were very unclean and we switched to three rooms and cleanliness was a consistent issue. Felt like the staff did not care about assigning us a decent room bc they did not check to see if the room was okay before giving it to us. First room had hair ball on the bed, second room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, and third smelled like mold. We felt unheard and disregarded by staff

The vibes! Was a 2 ** to me. Expensive! Paid for 4 people, even 2 of us just went t sleep.

Staff is incredible. The amenities are less than expected. Restaurants are limited, but I will say the food and chef killed it.

The daily breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful views and building. My only complaint was the very dim lighting in the room and bathroom which made makeup application difficult. If you are a woman traveler it would be good to bring your own lighted travel mirror.

The tv volume didn’t work and there was a sewage odor in the bathroom. We had to call maintenance to come to the room. They poured bleach down the sink but the smell came back the next day. They did fix the TV.

One note, and not the hotel's fault...in my rush to book our trip for a funeral, I inadvertently got an ADA-compliant King-size room. However, at 5'8" and 6'3", we struggled a bit with the low height of everything, including the peephole, but especially the closet bar! Our clothes had to touch the floor, which in any hotel is a non-starter for me! No floor is clean enough for my clothes to touch it! They were booked up that night, so we didn't have a choice for our 4-night stay. They did remove the huge shower seat from the bathroom so that nobody tripped over it, and I appreciated that. The hot breakfast each morning was great! There was a nice variety of items, and I would only make a couple of suggestions: 1. Add another decaffeinated hot beverage option. There were only two types of herbal tea, and neither was very appealing. 2. Rearrange the coffee station so that people don't have to wait for one person to completely make their cup of coffee while taking up the entire counter space, and making everyone else wait. 3. Have ice available with the beverages instead of down the hall. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the Ayres Hotel & Spa to others!

Roomy and good location. Water pressure good Tv in sofa area did not work. Sofa was really ugly, but probably durable for families. Curtains could use a refresh. No clock in room.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, the cafeteria was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful.

The location is nice. This facility has a spa with a masseuse available, pool area, a restaurant and more compared to the other section of the Ayres Hotel across the parking lot. I'm scared of heights so I don't like the openness in the area that you have to walk to get to your room. I was on the top floor. Hated walking to my room each time so I just stayed there and never came out. The pillows in my room were horribly hard. Made it difficult to sleep. The bathroom didn't look like it was cleaned too well as there were lots of little hairs all over. Staff was not very knowledgeable in regards to asking for additional checkout time. I called down at 9:00 p.m. and asked if I could get an early checkout and was told to call back at 6:00 a.m.. I explained I was hoping to take a sleeping pill ( I have chronic pain) and be able to sleep in rather than having to get up throughout the night including to call and ask for the late checking check out. Didn't matter had to call back at 6:00 a.m.. I could not sleep all night and was up every 30 minutes. Didn't get a wink of sleep. 6:00 a.m. I called the front desk and was told I needed to call back at 9:00:00 a.m.. I said what a joke if I have to leave at noon if there's no availability for the 1:00 late check out. Didn't matter that's the rules. I said another alarm so that I could call at 9:00. This time I actually got a few hours sleep as I was dog Dead Tired. My alarm went off at 9:00 Sharp. I got up stumbled over to the phone within 15 seconds. Picked it up called the front desk and was told all the late checkouts were already taken. No way!! I said that is impossible. I said in 15 seconds and it took me to get out of the bed and get over the phone after the Clock Struck 9:00 a.m. you're telling me all of your late checkouts are gone. You didn't even have to put me on hold as you weren't helping another customer. You immediately were able to tell me they were gone. So somebody gave them all away prior to 9:00?? Yet I was told that they couldn't be!!

The included breakfast buffet very good. There was a nice variety of hot and cold foods, and it was good quality. Can't think of anything.

Family friendly Nothing

No closet door in my room. The breakfast was poorly cooked. The bagels were so stale they could not be cut with a knife to be out in the toaster. The pancake was not prepared properly. It was so thick it could not be poured into a cup to be poured into the griddle. The coffee lids were the wrong size for the cups. The breakfast could not be eaten. Most of the Front desk needs training except for the man named Jon who was excellent and courteous and had a sincere, professional yet friendly personality. He was the only employee is was excellent. 4 other employees need to improve at best they were a 4 out of 10. Jon was a 10 out of 10

Great room. My only complaint was that it smelled a little musty - like old dust. You could only open the window slightly so we couldn’t let fresh air in.

Breakfast can be better and the employees from the buffet need to have better service and attitude.

Awesome stay

Unfortunately the room wasn't ready at check-in time. Once in the room, there was trash on the floor from the previous guest. One of the TVs did not have service. Finally, we had booked hoping to use the pull out bed. There were no sheets on the bed or on the room, and the mattress was horribly yellow. Breakfast and the other amenities were nice.

Has a warm “homey” atmosphere Dining room not big enough Couldn’t find a seat so didn’t stop to eat the “included” breakfast. Bar not open late enough; I arrived at 9:02 pm and had to almost beg for a sandwich as the kitchen was closed. The cook did fire up the griddle and made me a delicious hamburger sandwich which I greatly appreciated as I was famished after a long day of driving. The martini was delicious too.

The pictures are deceptive. Calling this a Resort & Spa feels laughable. It's an older hotel and feels a bit rundown. My A/C barely worked while others that stayed said their rooms were frigid. Staff was very nice. Best part of the hotel was the courtyard.

My partner booked this trip as a way to celebrate our engagement together somewhere quiet and nice. The staff were all so sweet and helpful. We were even gifted a lovely basket with treats to enjoy during our stay. Rooms are roomy and comfortable. The pool had a nice view at sunset and a free hot breakfast is also an extra perk.

Spa prices are high. One hour massage is $150 plus they expect a 20% tip.

Everything was great!! We arrived early than expected and our room was ready. We were able to leave our luggage in the room and go to lunch after arriving from Florida. The staff was veré nice and helpful. Nothing.

Amazing courtyard. Friendly staff. Super clean rooms with lots of space. Morning breakfast was quite decent. Onsite restaurant cooks to order and is very reasonably priced. Considering the small location, seating and space, it’s a great little spot.

Everything was great and peaceful about this place had a big tub with hot water. The food was delicious and free breakfast in the morning. They only complaint is the air was a little stale and stirred up my allergies other than that the place was very clean.

The room was clean but you would clearly see areas where they had some sort of water damage that was patched up. The room was okay, we mostly enjoyed the breakfast and amenities like the spa. It’s divided into two “separate” areas- suites vs spa. The pool and hot tub were across the parking lot which was odd. Overall it was nice. I’ve stayed in better rooms but still nice.

Musty room with pet hair in the room that got on our socks; loud fan we had to turn off at night; slow drain backed up the shower tub; no bedding for the sofabed in the room; loud noises from upstairs room. We were looking for another place to go after waking up wheezing with the dust and dander allergens but couldn’t find one on short notice. Breakfast was in another building. Limited staff interaction but the checkin person was nice.

My only criticism would be the air conditioner/heater. I tried to turn it completely off but the fan would not shut off. It was quite loud so it did disturb our sleep.

My stay has been consistently very good at this hotel. This last time, the front desk did not answer my phone calls for over 35 minutes; this is the first time this happens, and this is why I’m giving four stars to my stay this time,

The tv in the bedroom did not work. When we called the front desk to ask about it no one answered the phone. The alarm clock went off at midnight after me and my partner had already fallen asleep. There was a missing hook on the bathroom door to hang used towels.

The ac unit clicks on and off randomly through out the night which was waking me up because the room would go from silence to the ac unit turning on disrupting the silence and then the room temperature would go from warm to cold so I was constantly covering up in bed and then uncovering because I would get hot. Suggestion: Have the ac unit fan be able to run constantly so it creates a one level sound and a consistent temperature in the room at night.

Checking in took a bit long (lobby was busy). Coffee maker in room didn’t work: replaced within 15 minutes. Attendant was absent during breakfast when some food needed replenishing. All minor issues. We would definitely use Ayer’s again.

I am actually going to now start using this hotel for my upcoming stays in other cities. This is the only hotel that I stay at when I am in town. The rooms are clean and the price is excellent. I appreciate the complimentary breakfast because they put out a great spread. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if traveling with children.

When you walk into your room you already have a sense of comfort and quiet room, you're welcomed with a delightful smell; the bathroom especially smells nice—freshly stocked towels, extra pillows in the closet. The room is enormous and has lots of space. Parking for my EV vehicle is especially convenient, with about five charging spots available. I was well accommodated for my broken foot as they expediated a room on the lower level, making my traverse much easier. I will come by again and enjoy it very much for the price. Thank you Ayres and staff.

The free breakfast looked really unappealing, which seems the norm at all hotels offering free breakfast post-COVID.

Although the amenities are slightly dated, the room was very clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay. The hotel was quiet, clean and staffed with friendly people. The parking area ample, was well lit, and near hotel doors. In all, I chose Ayres hotels when possible for these reasons.

Feels like you’re miles away from, great quick getaway!

- we requested some hot water at around 7pm, but they refused our request and was very impolite - when we checked out the hotel we requested a print out receipt, they also refused our request and asked us to get it from Expedia since we book thru Expedia, I tell them Expedia is a third party help me to book the hotel, they don’t charge me any money, we actually pay the hotel directly. The hotel has responsibility to issue the receipt for us. Absolutely NOT a hospitality hotel.

The staff did not seem very friendly at all, and was in fact pretty uncomfortable to talk to. The property itself was just fine.

The staff throughout the hotel was attentive, helpful, and made me feel welcome. Breakfast was good and filling, though dinner options were limited, and the service at dinner didn’t feel quite as friendly as the rest of my stay. I also would have appreciated more non-alcoholic drink options like mocktails or NA choices for those who don’t drink. Overall, it was a lovely and rejuvenating stay—I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway, especially if you plan to enjoy the spa and serene courtyard.

Excellent breakfast, and our room was SO clean!

The first room I was given had a huge stain of urine. Half my weekend is as wasted waiting for hotel staff to move us. No compensation for was offered and the assistance after the urine ruined clothes and personal items was bare minimum. Disgusting.

Overall it was okay. The room AC wasn’t functioning properly, bathroom sink was clogged, and toilet flush was not working properly and I fixed it myself.

Had a wonderfully relaxing massage from Mary, and I felt so great, afterwards! The hotel is always wonderful! Excellent pool, and hot tub! Front desk staff, kitchen and bar staff (specifically the breakfast and the sweet lady who hosted us every morning! Just great! It was my second stay since May and I will definitely return!

Stayed at the property for 2 nights! The room was very clean! The breakfast was very delicious with a lot of options! The only thing that was disappointing was when we were going up to our room somebody threw up all over the elevator and it wasn’t cleaned up right away so the elevator smelled like puke and we had to touch the puke to press what floor we were on.

The beautiful courtyard is such a wonderful cherry on top of an already great hotel.

1. This hotel has the worst quality breakfast food I have personally encountered over the last 20 years, and more than 40 hotels across countries and continents. You will be able to find food, but it is of the absolute lowest quality possible. I think it qualifies as toxic. 2. The nightstands don’t have power outlets, clocks, or charging areas available. 3. Our AC made a lot of noise, but there was minimal cooling.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The bed was large and comfortable. Room was clean and spacious. Ample parking. Front desk people were friendly but not informed about the EV charging. Only one usb b (no c) port in the room. Pool was clean and warm and located at the adjacent hotel but not too far to walk over. We ordered tacos but they’re small and ok. Breakfast was decent. Nothing within walking distance so it’s a place to relax. We didn’t use the spa so not different from the Aryes hotel I think.

The hotel was nice and quiet. Had a good nights rest. Enjoy my bfast, pool and jacuzzi.

Facility was clean and staff attentive. The suite needs another bathroom sink. I am definitely staying there again.

Lovely hotel with a good restaurant. It's up in the hills but not a bad drive to many places. Ideal hotel if you are passing through or need a base in Orange county for a longer stay. Next to a very nice area. I would stay again.

I love the ambiance of this hotel but the pool is a little far from our room. I love the view of the reservoir from our room and that there is a restaurant here.

It was relaxing. We enjoy the free breakfasts.

The room is perfect clean, has everything that you need. Will definitely stay more here.

Amazing property. Have stayed at Ayres Hotels before but this one from the large rooms to even an in house restaurant was a wonderful surprise. The staff is fantastic…soooo very friendly and helpful! We love staying at Ayres!!!

Family friendly

We spent 5 days in this Ayres Hotel. We felt safe at all times. The room was very clean. The court yard is very nice. We'll be staying there again.

We have stayed at Ayres in the past and found it to be a great value for the money however this location could be improved. The staff were all very friendly and helpful however I found this location to not be of the same quality as other locations. To start it was warm in the elevator and corridors and our room felt muggy and humid all weekend. Idk if they recently cleaned the carpet but the room smelled strongly of cleaning solution and we couldn't seem to get the room completely cool. On our evening trip to the pool we found dirty towels on most of the chairs and ground as well as food and drink trash. Breakfast buffet was decent but the dinner we had in the restaurant was not great. I will stay at Ayres again but will definetly be checking the reviews a bit more closely.

The rooms are spacious. The staff is simply amazing. It is an old upgraded building. It is very quiet.

I highly recommend this hotel. I enjoyed my stay. It is in a very beautiful area and very convenient to get on the highway and go places.

Parking was also fine. Minor issues aside, this location is on top of my list for when I return to the area to see family.

Breakfast was just okay, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, housekeeping came in at 8 a.m. and woke me up, which was frustrating. I also wish the front desk staff had been more helpful they seemed irritated when I called with questions.

The facility and service were incredible. The room had a royal, comfortable, luxurious feel. I loved my room. I thought of extending my stay, but I had to travel. The food was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I loved everything about the place except for the very unusual Restaurant and Bar hours the first day I was there they didn't open till 4:00 and then after the wedding I attended they were already closed so I really didn't understand how they made money

Nice hotel! Breakfast was great! Only issue was the ac barely worked . The room was quite stuffy.

Spent two nights here and was so comfortable I didn’t want to leave. I had a king suite room (Rm 296 to be exact) on the backside of the hotel. My room was very spacious and included a separate living room with a TV. It also boasts a mini fridge (empty to store food and beverages for longer stays), a coffee maker and a microwave. All great amenities to have. The hotel offers complimentary daily breakfast which was great to grab a piece of fruit and a coffee to go. Two thumbs up. I will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay! The hotel was clean. Breakfast was decent. Coffee was great! Staff was friendly. Property was clean and organized. Easy commute to food and stores nearby.

Other than that we enjoyed hotel. Room was comfortable and breakfast was good. Workers were helpful and friendly.
