Hampton Inn & Suites Mission Viejo

We had a very late check in after a day at Disney and staff made everything smooth and easy at our arrival. Breakfast was amazing!

The hotel was OK there was no water in the rooms and no toiletries although they were in a giant bottle in the shower. Biggest issue was we had a king suite for $170 per night for three nights and then I changed it to two queen size beds and when we got there it was no longer a suite and the charge was $300 per night and the hotel would have made the adjustment but they said they couldn’t because basically Expedia owned and purchased the rooms so the rate was up to Expedia and they would not make any changes and I feel they overcharged us for that basic room. Never again!

This is an average hotel...nothing special.The scrambled eggs and sausage pattie was awful! Why bother? You had the choice to make a waffle, choose a bagel with butter or cream cheese and there were muffins.

Hampton Inn has long been my hotel of choice, and while still very good, it's slipping compared to some other chains. The towels are worn and threadbare, and bfast buffet needs an overhall. It's time.for some changes and upgrades.

Room was clean, and cleaned daily. Toilet handle broke 1st day ( plastic). It was replaced by the time we got back in the evening. Unfortunately the toilet float kept sticking our whole stay. You could flush the toilet once or twice before it stuck again. We did report it on check out. Whole float system was plastic

The pillows were way too fluffy. I could not use them to sleep — I woke up in great pain and was diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my neck and am still recovering a month later. Other than that, it is a nice hotel

It was very nice and quiet hotel. The breakfast each morning was stocked with fresh foods. The room was very nice! Housekeeping came in daily to take out the garbage and restock the towels. The only thing I didn’t fully like was the outside area showed signs of getting worn out. The couches at the fire pit had a bunch of stains.

Cute, only 3 floors, simple but sufficient, close to 5 freeway, restaurants, & shopping mall

I spoke with the young man at the front desk and informed him what we needed and believed had requested. He informed me that they didn’t have any Tub/Shower Combo rooms with a King. He indicated that the reservation was placed through Travelocity and the discrepancy was Travelocity's responsibility. I went to our room and did web search for Hampton Inn site. It clearly identified property did have King with Tub/Shower Combo. I went back to the front desk and spoke with the young man and again he said "As I told you previously the mistake is with Travelocity's website and you will need to follow-up with them. If the reservation had been made through our website, this wouldn't have happened." I them showed him my phone with website pulled up. "I see sir. Where do you see the Tub/Shower Combo?" I pointed out the picture and words on the site. He continued to present as dismissive and contentious. He assured me that he would report this to his manager. The following morning i spoke with the manager. She informed me that they didn’t have rooms with King and Tub/Shower Combo. She agreed to switch us to a room with a tub/shower combination, if available in afternoon. That afternoon would were assigned a double queen with Tub/Shower Combo. Facility was nice, with clean rooms and good breakfast.

This hotel is in a convenient location, fairly new and clean, the staff is very pleasant and affordable. We will be staying at this hotel in the future.

Wonderful continental breakfast included. I loved my room -- clean, and with the exact amenities I love to have from shower, bathroom supplies, coffee-maker, comfortable bed and clean linens. I highly recommend the Mission Viejo Hampton Inn & Suites!

Everything was average about this stay. Paid weekend prices for an average two queen bed room with a refrigerator/microwave that had an adjoining door. Wow, the walls/doors did not offer much of a sound barrier….was able to hear everything from kids being kids, adults arguing, belching etc. in the rooms and hallways. The staff were nice. Breakfast standard. I would be willing to pay $110-130 at most which is their price during the week. Felt too steep for the weekend but it is Orange County.

Hardness Alert: the water in the showers is as hard as the mattress which is saying something. Otherwise it’s a quite and conveniently located place that I would come back to

We stayed just one night. We have stayed at other Hampton Inns in other cities. Always comfortable and reasonably priced. We did not have time for breakfast, but have enjoyed breakfast in the past.

The lobby staff and breakfast attendants were thoughtful and very helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The rooms were always cleaned by the maids, clean towels provided daily, beds made and they never knocked on the door if the 'Do Not Disturb' sign was hanging on the door. A definite plus for me! Overall, an excellent stay!

As for the hotel room, it was quite nice! Very spacious with a separate living room, kitchenette, and bed. The bed was not so comfortable. The pillows were firm and nice for sitting up, but not so much during slumber. There was a screw on the floor, which could have been bad, but I found it before one of us stepped on it. There was a nice restaurant next door, a nice dive bar and convenient store as well. And perfect for a short walk before bed. The only real bummer was that they did not allow us to have extended checkout because we weren't members of the honors program. They didn't do much to promote the program, but it was pretty demeaning for them to just say "sorry you're not a member, we can't allow it."

Close proximity to Arroyo golf club. Clean rooms, comfy beds, nice pool view, and decent breakfast with hot food served. Staff were not particularly friendly, but decent. Check-in was easy, checkout even easier. I’d stay again.

Great comfort and quiet even though quite full of travelers. Waffle batter mix was excellent and the waffle maker worked well. Sorry the jacuzzi and pool were not open , though they looked very clean. Day and night staff were very helpful. And the bed was very comfortable.

Stayed with our 3 young kids for 6 nights (visiting local family) and enjoyed our stay! I would say the mattresses were very firm so I didn’t love that but it was clean and well maintained, quiet and the breakfast every morning was decent! The location was very central and had enough parking. I’m very picky about hotel cleanliness and I was satisfied, so that’s a win!

I was having a medical issue and they wouldn't let me go to my room after trying to check in. They did not allow check in claiming that my card kept declining (not the case), and they wouldn't refund me although I never stepped foot past the front desk. I complained and they said once I sent verification of my medical issue, that then and only then would they refund me my money. Awful service. Inconsiderent and dehumanized staff. My medical paperwork his on the way. I've been on going treatment since then, two months ago exactly. I'm told that your stressing me out didn't help my stroke at all either.

We enjoyed a 7-night stay at the Hampton while attending a graduation. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating although the housekeeping didn’t speak English and since we don’t speak Spanish, I had to go through the front desk whenever I needed something. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was available all day. Pool water was quite cold but you could use hot tub after 10 AM. My only complaint was our mattress. We stayed in a King Suite and I could feel the springs poking through. I mentioned this to the front desk but got no response. Luckily there was a sofa in the room which I made use of as a bed. Not ideal but it worked. The location was close to many restaurants and shopping, some within walking distance, but we rented a car and had no trouble driving - even managed the I5 freeway. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and I would highly recommend it.

Great hotel with plenty close by. Spent the day at the San Juan Capistrano mission. Short drive here and we got a great price. Nice pool and decent breakfast. We will definitely be returning if we are in the area.

Anything but quiet. Guests above my room were running and jumping constantly on the floor after 10pm. Could not sleep. Staff moved us to another room near midnight. They were at it still the next morning. Ridiculous and inconsiderate guest behavior. Staff tried to manage it but gave up after many warnings. Apparently parents drinking in lobby and left kids in the room alone. Horrible.

We had 4 rooms at the hotel to gather for a wedding. We spent a little time one afternoon playing cards in the breakfast area so that we could all be together. I went up to ask the front desk a question. The manager said he was glad we were having a good time together but he thought we needed to quiet down. There wasn’t a single other person the the breakfast room or lobby. He said if he got a phone call it was too loud if we were laughing. We were having a good time but by no means were we being too loud. I would think you’d want your guests to be happy and have fun in your hotel. I was not impressed by this manager (wish I could remember his name) and I would hesitate to stay there again.

Quite disappointed, this was my 7th hotel room in 3 weeks and the bed was the worst. It hurt so much, it had no support. Breakfast has no healthy options at all except for whole fruit. Pool roped off outside, large dried fluid spill on the wall of my room. I wouldn't stay here again.

It was no fault of the guy working at the desk, but we rolled in at midnight after driving 9 hours to get there. The computer system was shut down and they couldn't give us our rooms. We waited about 30 minutes (not a big deal) but they guy should absolutely have been more hospitable and welcoming to us. We were treated as if WE were the inconvenience and should just go away, find a new hotel, and ask for a refund later. He needs training in customer service. He did apologize later which was appreciated, but there was nothing offered to us while we waited (not even water). It's just not the service we are so used to with Hampton and Hilton.

Breakfast was pretty well stocked above a typical continental breakfast. Perfect for our basketball team traveling and their families. Location is super close to a lot of shopping and restaurants, and easily accessible to Hwy 5 and Pacific Coast Highway to beaches.
