The staff were friendly and the location was great. We enjoyed the indoor lazy river and the beach was beautiful. Overall a good location and not too expensive.

I wasn’t informed there are 2 separate buildings on site. Unfortunately I was booked in the hotel building. The listing on Expedia says you get covered parking and there is a lazy river, those are for the condos next door. The rooms were so outdated and dirty. If I wasn’t traveling alone, I would have moved to a different hotel. The only redeeming value is the location on the beach.

Close to beach. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The television kept buffering making it impossible to watch anything on it really. A little inconvenient, we were gone most of the time, but when we did want to watch TV it wasn't really happening.

Nothing. Everything. Super disappointed, was told I was getting an ocean view, got there to find out, it was a street view. The hotel lobby was dirty, musty, and weed smelling. Went to our room to find holes a freshly patched ceiling, and blood over the bed, as well as the room smelling horribly of bleach and weed, this was also a non smoking room.

Room 512. I hated to say anything.

We had to switch rooms because the toilet would become stopped up. The rooms and the whole hotel needs to be renovated the stove was old the carpet needed replacement. The inside pool was dingy looking. The beds slept good but I wouldn’t stay there again!!😡

I hate to leave bad reviews but we didn't even stay 1 night ..I had to go get another hotel down the road after realizing the bed was absolutely horrible the sliding door didn't slide and the water faucet was Broken I told the staff downstairs they said oh I will send maintenance right away I knew they wouldn't I checked the next morning after getting another hotel down the road still broken and I told the staff again and they did not care and there's no parking some people got there cars stuck in the sand trying to park save your money for a better place this was 550.oo wasted we never even slept there

The positive was location and right on beach. The place it's self was was not much to brag about. Needs updating, the tub was a old jacuzzi one that was hard to get in and out to take a shower. Would be real difficult for children and older people. The bed was horrible thin mattress very uncomfortable. There was lots of little kids on or floor that slamed doors and was yelling in hallway. And your door is not sound proof so got little sleep the first night. Also someone was smoking weed on their balcony and it stunk.so if your looking for a cheap party place it will be fine for you. If your looking for a place to relax on your vacation I would go somewhere else.

Hotel has the basics. It's a little run down. Needs a deep cleaning of the common areas and rugs. People come in wet from the beach and pool and just make everything wet. Staff was on top of this and had various fan running witch was good.

We waited an hour and a half just to check in, standing in a packed lobby with no AC while everyone around us was upset because the same thing was happening to them too. Unfortunately, not everyone was even able to get a room because of the overbooking situation. I understand it was a holiday weekend, but if reservations are going to be canceled, the least the hotel could do is notify guests ahead of time — especially when people are driving 6 hours to come vacation in Myrtle Beach.

Parking is kind of sketchy. It’s definitely out of date, but the price was good enough to deal with it.

Loved the location, view, and layout of the room. Parking is tight and as a person with a disability, it was a little difficult. Beds are great for those who enjoy firm mattresses, but take your own pillows if possible. The pillows available are very "flimsy" even when doubled. Also, be certain to have your own toiletries. They have couple very small soap bars and that's it. Make sure you have a good shampoo and conditioner because the water leaves hair feeling very corse and hard to comb.

The room was dirty and outdated. Cabinets and drawers were sticky, the carpet was covered in stains, and the tile floor felt sticky under my feet. I avoided walking barefoot in the room the entire stay. Outdoor pool was fine but the hot tub was only warm and disgusting. The only ice machine was empty and very dirty. Parking was a nightmare. I was told I couldn’t park in the garage because I wasn’t staying in that building, so I parked in front with my parking pass displayed. At 10 PM the front desk called and told me to move because I was supposedly in “motorcycle parking.” While moving my car, the security guard assured me multiple times that I could park in the nearby metered spaces without getting a ticket because I had a hotel parking pass. The next morning I found a city parking ticket on my windshield anyway. To make matters worse, the hotel restaurant was closed and the front desk incorrectly directed me to a Starbucks that didn’t exist nearby. I reported everything to management, and while they apologized and promised to follow up, I still haven’t heard back days later. Between the dirty room, noise, parking issues, and poor staff communication, I would never stay here again.

The fact I forgot my tablet. Staff did not turn it in meaning they have a thief in the house. The safes in the room did not work. The room was not totally clean. Rooms definitely need updating.

Out of date and ran down. Needs new flooring, paint and ceilings redone. Door to balcony was weathered and splintering. Beds were like roll away beds with thin mattresses. Furniture was out of date. Pictures were deceitful

To whom it may concern: I cannot say enough about how disappointing this room was! Other than the ocean view, it was terrible. The room had all of the following: Torn furniture, mouse droppings, filthy flooring, furniture and bathroom, blood drops on floor between wall and bed and under the mattress, lighting didn’t work on half the fixtures or lamps or on balcony, balcony furniture with liquid stains/runs, broken phone, no extra blankets. We checked and double checked for bed bugs. Our clothing is all sealed in trash bags to treat for bed bugs, as I am fairly certain there are some here (my daughter woke up with bites). We were going to request another room, but we were here for the weekend and had food in the fridge and were fairly unpacked before noticing a lot of the issues. I did try to call from our phone to get blankets and request a new room, as the longer we stayed, the more distraught we became, but that was broken, too. I would NEVER RECOMMEND. Booking.com was where I booked, but I checked with the front desk, and room 405 is owned by your hotel. A partial or full refund is definitely in order. I will leave reviews for future guests warning them about the terrible decision we made. Please address these issues before ever renting this room to anyone else. This is a very old hotel, all of the furniture is from the 80"s, the owners are an old married couple, they are stuck back in the 80's, the staff is very friendly and helpful but that's it. The rooms as very old and dingy, rust spots in the bathroom and the ceiling is either cracked or patched up. I would avoid this hotel.

Checked into the apartment. Found glass in the carpet. The furniture was old wore out. The building was not kept up in good standards pool hot tub was in bad condition. I do maintenance for a living and take care of a pool spas. I know how they work would not recommend this hotel to anybody I know will not stay here again.

Perfect place for the price. Full kitchen to do my own cooking for the week, which is key for me as a business traveler. Solid gym, multiple pool options indoor and outdoor with a large hot tub. I got new towels and trash taken out every day which is almost unheard of anywhere these days (most places won’t clean or stock at all unless you stay multiple weeks). Sure it’s an old building but it’s beachfront and has great service and amenities. A+ stay and will be at the top of my list to consider for further business trips to the area.

The room was clean, comfortable bed, but the furniture was old and marred a bit. The efficiency kitchen with full size fridge was nice. The biggest drawback was the balcony overlooking the ocean. It was inhabited by pidgins and not clean.

The room was very functional, mostly clean and well stocked, and had the side view of water and beach I had reserved. The carpet in the room and hallway was fine except for stains that it seems no one was bothering to get out. Two lamps didn't seem to work at all. I discovered in the morning that the door would not fully shut. That didn't present a problem when I was in the room - I had a deadbolt that did set. It seems like a new lining in the door was preventing the door latch from fully extending and locking. During the day, house staff apparently did something that allowed them to shut the door. When I tried it myself in the evening I could with great difficulty fully shut the door - but in the morning even that was impossible. This kind of thing happens but the lackadaisical solution did not inspire confidence.

The hotel location is great, overlooking at the beach from the balcony. The room smells like cigarette even though it says in the hotel that it is non smoking room. The carpet is dirty and feels damp, we wore our slippers the whole time. The furniture and bed is old and need an upgrade. The bathtub has patches and the corner or bathroom door has mould.

The room does not look up to today. It needs to be remodeled. I like the layout of the room very spacious. Just need new appliances and furniture. Overall, the experience was nice. That was great. Very good hotel.

The location was the best thing about this vacation at Holiday Sands. It is located ocean front with numerous restaurants just a short drive away. The layout of the unit we stayed in was perfect for us. We had privacy as there was a bedroom where we entered from the hallway. The middle section had a kitchenette on one side and bathroom on the other. The other room had a sofa bed , another bed, and access to the balcony. We were on the eighth floor and had a great view.

Best thing about this hotel is the view. The worst thing about the hotel is the beds and pillows. Hard thin mattress where you can feel the springs and flat thin pillows. I ended up buying pillows just so I could have a somewhat decent night's sleep. The pictures of the rooms that they advertise were perhaps what the room looked like when it was first remodeled/built. The carpets are dirty that I wouldn't suggest walking bare foot because my feet became black from me doing so. It was my kids forts time at the beach and I already booked for a few days and I didn't want to lose my money from their no refund policy that I just made do with what I had/got. It is indeed outdated and though house keeping does a good job they are in need of maintenance and updates from the elevator floors to the room flooring. I really hope the owner will put some money back in upgrades because with the location it could easily become a higher star hotel. I also would suggest viewing your room before buying, if your booking online I would suggest elsewhere if you can afford it. Fyi, I was on the 8th floor.

The place was well maintained and in good shape. Our specific room wasn’t cleaned well. Human hair on so much. It didn’t seem to be a common issue and just that someone did a crappy job cleaning it after the last guests.

Kitchen appliances were outdated worked as needed. Beds were comfortable. Excellent view of the beach when not dealing with the smell from those using marijuana on the property.

If you pay extra and get the beach front rooms, it’s worth it. I saw other rooms that family stayed at that were not as nice as ours.

I really like that, everything was convenient in unit, nice size for a small family, there’s not multiple other units on floor , it gave the sense of privacy. Staff don’t come knocking early in morning to your door. Loading carts, you may have to go on floor to locate. Smoke detectors comes on just for open on oven.. make sure vent on.

Did not use the amenities. The general condition of the property was barely above poor. Our bathroom was not clean, the floor was downright dirty.

Carpets felt sticky, toilet made a loud noise when sitting on it like it wasn’t flush to the floor, there was a hole in the wall behind the microwave that exposed a pipe, there was dust in the corner of the room along carpet/wall, fridge had rust on exterior, the panels that close between bedrooms were broken, the fan vent that circulated air from main bedroom with air conditioner to first bedroom was super noisy and didn’t work well so one bedroom was cold and the other still hot. Kids splash pad area was shut down. If you want a cheap place to stay to enjoy the beach, this is it, very outdated besides the TV. Beds were comfortable though and rooms were spacious. Bring dish soap for washing dishes.

Room was on the side of the hotel but had a balcony with a slight ocean view. Hotel was older but still nice for the price we paid. Gym was well equipped and my teenager enjoyed it. The restaurant in the hotel was ok due to convenience but was overpriced in my opinion. We enjoyed being right at the beach.

Staff absolutely wonderful. Everything was so clean and it was so beautiful inside and out. My family loved the entire atmosphere. We are already planning our next trip. The pools was clean. Restaurant was fantastic. If you need anything the staff was right on it. Checking in and out was so easy and everything you need and want is literally in walking distance.. I had five adults and 3 kids on our stay we all had a absolutely amazing time. I loved everything. There was seriously nothing 8 would change.

This is a property that is well past its prime. Granted for what they charge you shouldn’t expect much. The whole property needs a complete investment of new furniture, beds and concept for it. Granted it’s on the beach. We left three days early due to various reasons.

The WiFi barely worked but considering location it bothered us none. The view was impeccable. A couple room service ladies weren’t very polite but everyone else was amazing. The gentleman they had stocking the towels in the heated pool area he was so friendly n made my children laugh. The front desk gentleman was super friendly and gave us some awesome run downs and tips. Very helpful. If we come back to Myrtle beach I’d stay there again.

Location is excellent, beach unobstructed, indoor pool was warm, hot tub was great and relaxing, outdoor pool is salt water, lazy river warm but very small. Parking areas were nice andvplenty of them, handicap marked vehicles park free at all city wide meters and city wide parking lots! The hotel is older and needs updating, the bedding needs updated very hard uncomfortable mattresses and pillows, rooms, hallways and public areas need paint and new carpets, staff not friendly. I am not basing this on one staff encounter! Check in staff was rude, so was check out staff 4 days later! Never saw anyone cleaning the inside or outside of hotel and they both needed it. The vent in bathroom fell out of the ceiling while my daughter was showering, not sure if it was due to noisy neighbors upstairs or it was just old and needed repair. Called them three times and even stopped down stairs at front desk, it was never fixed by maintenance 🙄! Would I stay again? Probably not! I paid $370 for 3 nights and I feel that I over paid. Would I use Expedia again? Sure! Beach view was amazing and 3 grandkids loved it, they never complained about anything but a hard bed!

The building itself was old, but that added to its charm. It was clean and all amenities worked perfectly. Our room overlooked the ocean; the view and ocean sounds were wonderful. We had a kitchen, which was great; we ate on the balcony. Could not have asked for a more relaxing stay.

The room was dirty as in hair (not mine) in multiple locations, sheets were stained, empty underwear box in dresser drawer, accordion style door divider was broken in half, and tables hadn’t been wiped. The room had a musty smell that lingered the two days we stayed. Loved being able to walk out onto the shared patio and easy access to the pool and beach. Kitchen was newly renovated. Staff were friendly.

You could see the ocean from the balcony . Rooms were dated. You could take a shower and a nath at the same time because the drain didn't work. Shower head is at perfect placement if you're 4ft tall. Bed was a glorified cot

Most of the staff were nice. Room was very outdated and need some tlc, not really as shown. Kid threw up in the pool they scooped the puke and added more chemicals, barely any towels in rooms or pool area do construction during the day and was super loud

Hotel needs a lot of work

The room was ocean facing and clean. Some of the artifacts in room were pretty old and dirty e.g. Sofa. Staff was courteous and helpful.

The oceanfront room was awesome! However, the furniture was a bit outdated; the carpet was dingy. Nonetheless, for the value, the room was par excellence for an affordable price. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a quick getaway on a budget-friendly basis. The staff was pleasant, check-in was seamless, and the experience was great overall.

The stay was ok but the area I stayed in was on the opposite of the beach. Other than that my stay was comfortable

The hotel is just fine for the price you pay. The staff are friendly and location right by the beach is nice, but the rooms are very outdated. There is terrible moisture control so it felt humid inside the rood and the carpet constantly felt damp. They also do not provide shampoo and conditioner, and the doors between rooms are not soundproof so you need to hope you have quiet neighbors. Overall just okay.

Older lady at desk was very rude about parking trailer across street when clearly other guests had trailers parked there. Maintenance asked me to move before I could unload luggage.

There was a cockroach in the pool room.

One of the two elevators makes God-awful noise and shakes terribly when using and seems to be the only one available most of the time. Room was ok, clean. Bed was not comfortable at all. Sleeper sofa sank in when sat on. A 2" gap beneath the shared room door did nothing to help keep the neighboring noise down at 2am. Half of the outlets in the room did not work. No lights at bedside. No bathroom supplies outside of two slivers of bar soap and toilet paper. Fridge was a good size, no coffee supplies for the coffee pot. No dish detergent which usually comes with an efficiency. Front desk staff were not friendly at all. Cleaning staff 50/50. Pool area was not kept clean or maintained, a broken window covered in pressboard was covered in mold, as was parts of the walls and window frames, and clean towels were absent. All in all, I wouldn't stay again as it currently is.. by the second night I was sleeping sitting up on the side of the bed, it was THAT uncomfortable. Also, I booked a queen efficiency and received a full bed. Too tired to argue about it. Just not my cup of tea. The place could use a suggestion box, if the owners actually cared enough to implement upgrades.

The hotel was clean. However the beds were the most uncomfortable beds that we have ever slept on. Staff wasn’t very friendly and we had to ask for towels.

Disappointed in 3 bedroom layout. Only 2 had privacy. The third bedroom was a walkthrough to the second. Very clean unit, however.

Hot tub was great. The rooms were a little dated. The bedspreads and the sheets looked extremely used and not clean.

I paid extra for a condo for the kitchen. The oven did not work I told them about it and the fridge leaking water all over & they did nothing the woman was rude & so I dealt with it and booked another condo at a better place. The walls are thin you can hear ppl next to you, there were kids above me up at 5am running around extremely loud…I did not enjoy this place at all. Some staff were friendly others…were not.. I couldn’t imagine staying here during peak season…The pools looked so nasty I didn’t even consider going in any of them…ghetto is the word that comes to mind when describing this place. If ur rarely going to be in room and don't mind being woken up by doors slamming & House keeping!! even when you put DND on the door… this is the place for you, it’s cheap for a reason.

There was no stay! The place closed down after charging my credit card. I was not refunded my charge and am having to fight for my money back!

Carpet was disgustingly dirty and moist. Hotel staff were pleasant. Had to call 3 times to get the kitchen light fixed.

I arrived to my stay and it was very disgusting sheets were dirty bath tub and refrigerator was dirty with old food on it and stains and mold on ceilings and they made me stay till next morning and made me pay for the night that I arrived until next morning because they had no customer service available to refund till next morning

Great view. I would have liked to be on a higher floor than the 2nd floor so as to have a better view. Overall it was a good stay.

The roof started leaking water. They moved us to a new room that had bugs in the bed.

This property was not to my liking at all this hotel should not be on your list for stays it is very old and unkept.

Staff wasn’t friendly. Started from check in, seemed like we were a bother to them instead of guests or customers. My room had a kitchen but the stove halfway worked. 2 of the eyes worked. They had pans for the oven but the pans were too big to fit in the oven.

I don’t want to say anything negative but I definitely won’t go back

Rooms need to be updated a lot carpets are moist and wet. All the time stove doesn’t work just old and bed is very uncomfortable.

Staff was not very personable, no smiles or interaction with us while checking in. Drop cords were lying across the on the ground on our floor, one being wrapped in duct tape. Our room door was rusted along with the side of our fridge and stove in the room. Carpet was raised in areas and had multiple stains. Bed was uncomfortable and we had no lamp or clock radio in the room.

Very clean , reserved ocean front got side view lazy Robert was closed. Pioled didn't look clean. Some folks at front desk was rice like they have no customer service or don't like thier join. House keeping was great. They couldn't keep towel for the pool. Restraunt was cheesy and expensive limited hours and choices.

The rooms needed some upgrades and cleanliness needs implemented everyday. Overall, we enjoy our stay after everything was settled down. I would like to say thank you to Mike the manager for accommodating our stay. He is kind and very understanding .

The service desk and employees were very friendly and the view was wonderful. However the rooms were very outdated and there were roaches in the dresser drawers.

It was clean pools were clean but my son stepped on an earring in the pool. Beds are horrible but besides that it was good for our needs. Rooms are spacious and clean. Parking was easy right out front.

Property could use some touch ups here and there cosmetically on the interior but it is clean, staff was very helpful and nice. On property, they have 2 pools (outdoor going down to 6 inches deep and the indoor is about 4), a really nice hot tub (press the green button, they could specify this somehow) and a tanning area. in between here and their sister location is beach access. the other location mentioned next door (not even a minute walk) where you can find the lazy river, 2 more indoor/outdoor pools and

It was an ok place to stay. It needs to be updated. The toilet seat was fading and you had to hold the handle down in order for it to flush. The kids enjoyed the pool and the view. Love that it is steps from the beach.

Going up to our room we first wanted to check out the pool area. The indoor pool was not as clear as the outdoor pool but it was available. The hot tub worked as expected. The other part. Not bad but definitely need some improving: floors are constantly wet with no wet floor signs not even in the elevator. Not one time did we enter or exit was the floors not soaking wet without any signs. We had the 3 bed suit which was like the picture if the picture was taken after a fresh remodel. The fridge had rust on the bottom. The bed protector on the box spring was dirty and the carpet had so much traffic of being wet that it was dirty and damp paint pealing and chipped balcony carpet needs to be replaced due visible mold

Over all it was bad experience. I tried to complain to Expedia via phone but I couldn’t because I had to download the Expedia app in order to complain.

The views,beach,pools

It’s in a perfect location. You could walk to most anything. Staff was friendly. Will definitely come again next summer.

This is a condo in a big resort which has condos and regular hotel rooms. The resort stands right on the beach line, has several pools, a parking garage, and a breakfast cafe. A convenience store is just across the road. The condo is on the 1st floor (actually 1 level above the ground) just above the pool. Pool machinery makes some noise, there is a constant bubbling water noise which is not very loud but noticeable in the night. Otherwise sound insulation is good, you don't hear any neighbors. The furniture is OK, mattress is OK too. Internet is working well enough for streaming.
