Rooms are super small. Didn’t like how the shower was a shared amenity although we didn’t run into any issues with that. No microwaves or fridges in the rooms; there are communal pantries on each floor…again, also didn’t like. The microwave on my floor did not reopen, trapping my food inside. Had to break it open, destroying the microwave but I told the front desk what happened right away and they didn’t penalize me or anything like that. Access to the fire escape from our room window was pretty cool but we had problems with our room door locking, several times. That was really frustrating. Other than that, continental breakfast was poor (just bagels, mini muffins, and coffee) but the hotel staff was more than hospitable and helpful.

Due to a severe storm, my flight was canceled, which meant I was unable to travel and use my hotel reservation. Since this situation was completely beyond my control, I hoped for some flexibility, such as the possibility of moving my booking to the following weekend. Instead, I was repeatedly referred back and forth between the Front Office and the central customer service team. The Front Office told me to contact the central number, while the central team stated that the Front Office was responsible. No one seemed willing to take ownership of the issue, and I was not offered any meaningful assistance or solution. I understand that the hotel was not responsible for the weather, but neither was I. I expected clearer communication, greater understanding, and a more customer-focused approach. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience and a disappointing level of customer service.

AC worked well, mattresses comfortable although sheets a bit stiff, large beautiful bathroom, everything very clean, storage room for luggage was much appreciated before and after check out, friendly staff too!

Location is amazing, just a few blocks from Times Square and Grand Central Station. Nice hotel for the price you pay, sure im picking it up on my next trip to NY.

Upon arrival the manager of the hotel greeted us with open arms even though he clocked out for the day. That didn’t stop him from making sure we got our room in a timely manner. He let us check in early since our train got there an hour earlier than we expected. We got a double bed room with a shared bathroom. There are multiple bathrooms around the hallway so if one is in use it’s very easy to access another. The rooms were immaculate and everything was pristine. The room was very very small, but I knew that going into the booking so it wasn’t a turn off for me. The AC worked perfectly. We did not use the tv but it looked like a brand new one. They offer coffee and snacks in the morning but we passed to hit the bodega next door. It’s walking distance from Grand Central, Times Square, the Rock, and the Public Library - and so much more. This is now going to be our go-to hotel whenever we’re in the city. Thank you to the manager whose name I did not grab, but was the kindest human! Your hotel was exactly what we needed.

The experience was horrific and I would not recommend this location.
- 4.5/5
Enjoyed my one-week stay, overall it was a great experience. The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance, very convenient. The room was cleaned daily, and the bed was comfortable. Noise level was an issue in a street-facing room, so bring earplugs.
- 3.5/5
Accessible to everything we wanted to see The workers were exceptional!
- 4.5/5
The location was super ideal and I will definitely stay here again! I loved the corner room we were put in, cool view of the street! The elevator was out of service most of our stay but they got it fixed by the time we were checking out! The windows in our room didn’t close all the way so it was really noisy in our room unfortunately.
- 4/5
Overall not a bad room. It was very small but that’s what we expected. The shared bathroom was clean. The only problem was the noisy NYC street outside but the hotel provided complimentary sleep masks and ear plugs to sleep with which I was very appreciative of.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly, which I really appreciated. I was given an early check-in, which was also something I was really grateful for. The A/C worked very well. Would have liked to have a lamp in the room rather than having only to depend on overhead lighting. It would have been nice to have brewed coffee in the morning instead of just hot water.

Room was very small and plain but it's what I expected. Free bagels were a nice touch, and the staff was very kind and let me store my luggage for the day. Shared bathrooms were clean—I wish there were products but for the price, it wasn't a huge issue.

Good location when arriving by train at Penn station. Rooms were modern, enough space in single rooms for one person and one night. Nice with a basin in the room instead of going to shared bathroom. I had a room towards the back of the building so it was quiet from the street. You get what you pay for, lower price than most on the area. It was good for a night but I wouldn't want to stay for a longef period. Thin doors for the rooms so you hear when someone is in the bathroom or showering. I had to use earplugs at night to not be woken by someone going to the bathroom. I found hair on the floor and behind the door in my room when I arrived so it could been cleaned better. There are no separate toilets, its in the bathroom with showers which means that it can be difficult finding an available bathroom in the morning. Would be good if the shared bathrooms were cleaned more often.

Clean I was charged outside of my security deposit and booking fee and they said they never saw or touched my card to charge it. False because they needed my card to get the security deposit in the first place. The $75 remains on my balance and they dismissed me to figure it out with my bank. $75 on top of the $400 and on top of the $150 security deposit and they are saying they don’t know where it came from or how my card was charged. They did this the first night of my stay I didn’t notice the miscellaneous charge until after check out.

This was a great stay at the Americana Inn. The staff is friendly, I was able to check in early, since my room was available, at no extra charge and they had a standard baggage drop for before and after your stay if you needed to wait closer to check in time. The room and property was very clean and the Inn is conveniently located from Port Authority with access to anything you want to see in NYC if your a tourist, or frequent visitor. Id definitely stay here again onnfurture visits.
- 5/5
Awesome staff very friendly , is shared bathrooms but they have like 3 or 4 on the same floor where I was and they were cleaned out often . Very cute comfy rooms my room had a sink too … the snacks were okay just normal bagels and coffee vending machine $1.25 sodas which isn’t bad . Over all 9/10 price of the stay was great too not expensive.

Great location, affordable price. You get what you pay for. A small room with no facilities (which are next door). You can hear when someone is showering. A bit noisy. But for one night in Central Manhatten its a great bargain.

- 4/5
The place was better than I expected. Small room but clean and had a window, closet, and TV. The street noise was the loudest I've ever experienced in a hotel. I managed with it okay, but others may not. Great location. Walls are thin, but the beds are comfortable. I knew about the shared bathrooms so that was fine with me. I think there for 5 bathrooms on my floor, so plenty to choose from. Luggage storage was nice. I'll be back.
- 5/5
They allowed us to leave our bags after check out.
- 5/5
Be sure to bring Shampoo and Conditioner. They do not have any in the showers. They do however have shower gel. Be weary about eating out as the rooms do not have mini-fridges to store your leftovers. I had a few nights where I felt really bad about throwing food away from earlier in the day. The check in was swift and the staff were amazing. The room cleaners were also very timely and frequented the floor several times a day to clean rooms or the bathrooms. The rooms come with eye masks and ear plugs which was an awesome touch considering it does get noisy. But honestly, I always sleep with soundscapes on so it never once bothered me. The room and bed was comfortable and the location is an amazing central spot to get to where you need to and with the Subway on 42 Bryant only being a couple of blocks. If I ever come again I will certainly be booking again!

I would normally avoid hotels with shared bathrooms, however with the price of hotels in Manhattan as they are, I thought I'd give it a go for 1 night. I had visions of a 1940s B&B in Blackpool! This hotel is actually well presented. Clean and brightly decorated corridors. The rooms are small but functional. Plenty of space for a short stay, desk, wardrobe area, comfy bed, shel space and sink. The shared bathroom is clean but I guess that largely depends on who you're sharing it with. There are multiple bathrooms on each floor, so if someone is holding you up, there ought to be others to use. Don't forget your room key! I imagine this hotel has seen more than its fair share of guests stood at the front desk with a towel wrapped around them!! The note is well located in the city for shops, restaurants, theatre and train stations. I would probably stay again but only flor 2 mights max.

The staff were nice The bathroom was a shared bathroom and it didn’t have soap. So after you used the toilet no one washed their hands I guess, luckily I always have hand sanitizer on me. The bed in my room wasn’t made with a fitted sheet, it was just the square sheet, so when I lifted the blanket it just all shifted. It wasn’t very comfortable, because of all the excess material that kept shifting when I turned.

You’re probably looking at this hotel for the same reason I was, because it’s the only hotel in Manhattan that costs less than 200 dollars a night. It’s a little run down, my room had constant street noise from New York drivers constantly honking their horns on 6th avenue. But the hotel provides you with earplugs and a mask, I don’t know that there’s much that they could do about the noise. But it’s in a great location. 6 blocks from Penn station (trains to/from JFK and Newark), 4 blocks from Time Square, 4 blocks from the Empire State Building, 4 blocks from the 42nd street time square subway station which has almost every line passing through it. You stay in a shoebox, it’s a bit run down, but you can’t beat the location or the price. Also held my bag til 9pm almost 12 hours after I checked out without any problem.

The staff is super friendly! I only stayed for one night and it was perfect for me and my boyfriend. it is a small room, however, it was very clean and cute and fit the two of us just fine! gets the job done! And sharing a bathroom wasn’t bad at all. For every 3-4 rooms, there was one bathroom. Overall a great experience. There’s a mini fridge to which I forgot about.

The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. Quick check in. The room was small which I knew was gonna be because of NYC. If you are worried about bathrooms, I never had any issues because there were multiple bathrooms on each floor. The location is perfect as you are walking distance to Times Square and all the broadway theatres. Elevator was quick!

one couldn't ask for a better location, close to a good deli, the main noodle house and an excellent French bakery across the street. there is the bagel pub down 38th. plus being close to Penn station to get to the JFK airport via long island railroad or Newark via New Jersey transit train at Penn station. at the port authority , there is an express bus to Newark. there is a bus stop around the corner from the Americana inn that will take you uptown. if you are over 65, you can take the W or R subway at 34th to Whitehall down town and walk around the corner to number 3 stone street for the reduced fare omny . card. also at 34th station, there is the Q subway to the east side. you can walk over to 7th for the buses going down town. I was happy staying there

Friendly and helpful staff. A lot of street noise. The supplied ear plugs helped a bit, but next time I will try to get a room on a higher floor and/or facing the back court.

Weird smell in the whole building. Dirty shared bathrooms, no paper towels.
- 5/5
This was a great find and great stay. It's a block or so from Koreatown and the Empire State Building, it's clean, the staff was extremely helpful. The bathrooms are shared, but there are multiple on each floor, so you never are left waiting. They are also cleaned regularly. Each is single stall and each has its own shower. They provide instant coffee and cookies in the morning, but unfortunately it's 8:30-10:30 which is a little late. There's no parking on site, but there are two garages within 2 blocks.
- 5/5
I was thrilled with my experience at Americana Inn and will definitely stay there again. The staff was lovely and very professional. The location was perfect for a first-time visit to Manhattan. And the price was more than reasonable. I know the shared bathroom situation would be a deal-breaker for many, but it was not an issue at all for me. There was a bathroom right next to my room, and it wasn't a "locker room" kind of bathroom, but a "normal" bathroom. In fact, the one next to my room seems to have been the largest on the entire floor, which was a nice bonus. And having a large sink and lighted mirror inside the hotel room made it so much simpler and easier to get ready. Really, it was all that was needed for a single traveler and for half the price of other hotels in the area. There really wasn't anything I didn't like. I was very happy with everything. Have already recommended the hotel to friends looking for a simple, inexpensive but nicely appointed hotel in the heart of New York City.

Very clean & well-maintained rooms, and the shared bathrooms were always in good condition - so it was a great experience overall and I'd stay there again! One thing to note is that the common rooms with the shared fridges are currently under renovation so there was no fridge available - that wasn't reflected on the website or any notifications beforehand. Wasn't a problem for us but it would have been nice to know before we arrived.

Perfect for the weekend love that it’s super clean No complaints at all
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable place walking distance from Times Square and Empire state building. Small and a bit loud.
- 4/5
Very clean, great location. Only complaint was the amount of echoing noise from doors slamming throughout the hallway, off and on all night long.
- 5/5
Loved that it was super close to everything. Subway. 42nd street. Bryant Park. Restaurants. Shared bathroom was conveniently next to our room. Super clean and comfy beds/room and bathroom. Our room was located on a rather busy street. Sirens or anyone driving a car with a loud muffler could be heard.
- 4/5
The air conditioning was very cool and not too noisy. The double room is pretty tight. I can’t imagine two people staying in there. This is the second time I stayed at a hotel with shared bathrooms and while it was fine, at the other place there were lights showing vacancy. The bathrooms were mostly very clean, but I would recommend to the hotel that they at least have hand soap or something in there because sometimes you go in to go to the bathroom and you want to wash your hands right away. One of the toilets didn’t seem to flush well, and I avoided that one. There really aren’t any amenities here but the location is great close to Subway food Times Square and easy to get around. I had no problems with the elevator never had to wait too long and I was on the top floor. This is a solid two star hotel.

The pros of this hotel were the cost and location. It is definitely no-frills. But I was able to check in at 2 pm (check-in is usually at 4pm). This is not the hotel's fault, but the surrounding area is very loud. They did provide earplugs and a sleep mask.
- 4/5
Parking was a nightmare for me. The cost and how the parking garages was set up. Lot of times people where lined up out front so you couldn’t just drive it. Had me circling around and round.
- 3/5
The third floor really smelt like hot dogs which kinda bothered me. I also didn’t know that the bathrooms were shared which would’ve been a factor if I had known. The bathrooms were clean and there’s 1 per 3-4 rooms.

I stayed at this hotel for one week and had a great experience. The location is fantastic—everything is within walking distance, which made getting around very convenient. location was perfect, a few blocks from Bryant Park. There were multiple shared bathrooms per floor and they were always clean. We had one outside our room. The only issue will be for light sleepers. You can hear all street traffic if you have a street facing room.

No bathrooms in the room!!! Public bathrooms. I wish I would’ve known that before going. We also had windows with no screens that would not lock, on a fire escape, allowing others to get into our room. Blood on bathroom light switch and toilet paper. Wouldn’t recommend. Location is nice.
- 4/5
I was booked for just one night. My only issue was that my TV wasn’t working. The staff did try to assist but I was finally informed that my room didn’t have cable connection. They offered to switch my room had I been staying longer.
- 3/5
Tiny room, minimal facilities. Pleasant staff, clean, with attention to maintenance. Small and slow elevator
- 5/5
It’s precisely what it purports to be-a good no frills hotel that’s conveniently situated. I stayed for six nights and except for Saturday night it was very quiet. Bathrooms are clean and although shared, there are enough of them on each floor that i never had to wait. If you’re traveling alone and looking for an inn that’s clean, safe, and convenient, and you don’t need more than a bed, a roof, and some walls, this is the ticket.
- 2/5
It is in an awesome location however read the description clearly, because a shared bathroom is exactly that and there was not hot water available for the entirely of the stay, terrible cold showers in the dead of winter :(
- 4/5
Highly recommend Americana Inn! The rooms are modern, the bathrooms are clean and the staff are extremely helpful. The location is fantastic, being a ten minute walk to Times Square, the theatres, Bryant Park, Penn Station and Grand Central. It’s a busy area and felt safe. The prices are also competitive compared to others in the area.
- 2.5/5
Good location. Clean room No bathroom in the room. I didn’t even know that that was a thing. Also, the bedroom is so small you can barely walk.
- 4/5
I was very welcomed by the staff, both of the gentleman I came across with at the reception were extremely friendly. The room and bathrooms were very clean at all times, the shower is not super strong but one can have a nice shower, there are multiple bathrooms per floor as well, that’s a plus. They also have elevator which is also a plus in Manhattan. Also the mini fridge and a sink in the room were amazing. As for location, I won’t even dive much deeper into that since it’s right in midtown a stone throw away from Bryant Park so it speaks for itself. The experience was positive overall.

The only minor issue for me was the noise from the street (which I know that there's nothing they can do about it since it's NY), but overall, it was excellent!:)
- 5/5
I HATED paying $150 deposit on top of my room rate. Oh and by the way, that $150 has STILL not been returned. Other places I have stayed in NYC returned any deposit within 24 hours. Your company is making money off my money. I will be addressing this legally.
- 4/5
Great Bed, smooth check in, big enough room for one, nice closet, sink in room, responsive staff, would do again
- 5/5
The rooms are clean. Staff are lovely
- 5/5
Great staff, courteous and clean room.
- 3/5
The room was n good condition and staff customer service was good, I didn’t really like the bathrooms in the hallway or the shared refrigerator/microwave with the entire floor. I would stay here again though!
- 5/5
First time in New York.. Did not realize a “shared” bathroom meant “community”! Hotel staff worked with us and got us moved to a different room! The trip unfortunately had to end early due to an emergency surgery while visiting, and the front desk was so accommodating with everything!
- 3/5
The rooms and staff was good the only downside i didnt know bathrooms were shared with other clients didnt see it on website
- 4/5
I stayed here for two nights and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and shared bathroom situation. There are several bathrooms on each floor so I never had to wait and it was always clean. The hotel is very centrally located, which is a blessing and a curse. Not the hotels fall at all, but sleeping was an absolute challenge because of the never-ending symphony of honking, yelling, and sirens outside. If you stay here, bring a sound machine and very, very, very powerful earplugs. But, it was several hundred dollars cheaper than every other hotel in the area. And very clean.
- 4.5/5
The only thing I would ask to be changed is to have toilet seat liners in the bathroom. Also, make sure to bring shower shoes!
- 5/5
Clean comfortable and affordable, everything was great.
- 5/5
Breakfast included. Tea.
- 3.5/5
Location Space and sharing bathrooms with so many people
- 1/5
The bathrooms was out of the rooms. Shared bathrooms is disgusting. This was more of a dorm than hotel. Showers and toilets
- 4/5
Great location, bathroom down the hall
- 5/5
fab will be back good value and great staff
- 5/5
The concierge at the front was amazing to deal with. Great location for a good price. The only downside is street noise but nothing the hotel could change.
- 3.5/5
The room was clean and nice but it had two beds. All I wanted was a bigger bed for two.:
- 5/5
Very clean hotel. Friendly staff. Efficient check in and out process. Great location.
- 5/5
Great location. Helpful staff. Clean rooms.
- 1/5
Did not even stay in the hotel. Got to hotel to see broken windows, people hanging out windows, and overall felt unsafe. Had to book another hotel.
- 5/5
It’s not like it’s a luxury 5 star hotel, but for the price and expectations it was pretty good. Staff was nice, hotel looked clean, room was spacious. There’s a community bathroom, but it wasn’t bad at all.
- 2/5
It’s next to a main road so expect a lot of noise. Bathrooms are shared. Mouse in our room
- 1/5
.....
- 4/5
Very clean rooms and bathrooms! Recently updated building making it very accommodating. Be ready for street noise, but that’s pretty common anywhere you stay in NYC. Excellent location and service!
- 4/5
Nice convenient and clean
- 5/5
Great location, nice budget motel, very friendly staff
- 4/5
Room was very small but clean and good enough for our 1 night in NYC
- 1/5
No carpeting, no bathroom in room, loud club music playing all night. I had to use the bathroom and had to wait hours until it was free. Felt like I was staying in prison cell.
- 4/5
Staff was excellent, room clean, loving place for the weekend, as long as you don't mind sharing the bathroom, would definitely stay again 👍👍👍
- 5/5
Was fine for the price just didn’t realize it was public bathroom/showers.
- 5/5
Was very comfortable and was unique! Staff was very helpful at the desk. And affordable!
- 5/5
Está bien excelente el lugar todo te queda cerca para poder ir caminando ya que a pocas cuadras estaban todos los lugares para visitar times square Rockefeller la gran terminal central etc….
- 5/5
The front desk staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are basic but very clean as are the bathrooms. The hallways are clean and well lit. And the location is perfect for attending Broadway shows without being caught up in the mess of Times Square.
- 5/5
nice location
- 2/5
Staff recommend parking, however they aren’t contracted with them so you don’t get the discount price and the staff in check in is very not hospitable.
- 4/5
Except that one bathroom on my floor was out of service and another had hot cold faucets interchanged, for the price, I think this was a very very very good deal. One of the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful, the one that checked us in and out. Another one at night, not so much. The housekeepers I saw working were not rude either, though little interaction.
- 4/5
The room was nice but small (it is in manhattan) the “shared” bathroom was a one person bathroom with an inbuilt shower; the building and bathroom were very clean. The desk staff were very kind and also had good recommendations for things in the area
- 4/5
My stay was ok for the most part. We didn’t have any wash clothes in our basket. I didn’t know the bathrooms wasn’t in the room but the one next to the elevator on the 3rd floor seemed to be my best choice rather the one next to my room.
- 5/5
Staff were great helpful and friendly. Very welcoming. No issues very clean.
- 2/5
The room was too small the bed the same and the sheets were not clean you could see makeup and hair Not to mention the bathroom, the only good thing was its location, the rest no
- 1/5
Very bad and not recommended for anyone
- 3/5
I appreciated that the facilities were very clean and safe. It was also relatively quiet. The front desk person was helpful. For the number of rooms, there was a good proportion of bathrooms available - with locks on the door. Guests should be aware that there is no shampoo or conditioner in the bathrooms, and also to bring a robe and sandals, or whatever they are comfortable wearing while walking from their room to the shower.
- 1/5
Outside noise was horrible
- 2/5
The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpfully thank goodness because the room was not clean and not in the best of conditions. The location of the hotel was perfect! We experienced lots of stuff go wrong in our room while there, however the cleaning staff always did try and make it right. We were afraid for our life the last night there because of the guest across the hall threaten to kill everyone and the front desk only offered to put us in another room away from her instead of asking her to leave or calling for help. The noise from the streets can be heard all night long and they offer breakfast that we never saw. They seemed to be working on the hotel in whole time we were there and there was furniture from the rooms sitting out in the hallways. I would never stay here again!
- 4/5
The room was great, shared bathroom was clean, great location. The only thing was on the last day at 4am there was a loud commotion, someone was kicking a door repeatedly, and yelling on our floor. Tried to call front desk 3 times but no answer and had to call the police. At the end it took 40 minutes for the police to arrive and put a stop to the commotion. Great overall.
- 4/5
Clean and newly remodeled rooms
- 5/5
Staff were all incredible. Only issue was with the room's window. It was VERY drafty and cold and I had to sleep in my jacket. I checked to make sure it was closed but I could feel the cold air coming in from the window area and the room never warmed up. The hallway and shared bathrooms were a normal temperature.
- 1/5
Horrible shared bathrooms, current remodeling the bathroom closest to my room I had to go to a third floor to use the bathroom
- 2/5
Very basic
- 5/5
La ubicación, la.comodidss y la limpieza si duda hacen que la experiencia de el.Hotel sea grata
- 5/5
Great option for stay. It’s basic, but if you want value for money and just a base to stay, this is safe, clean, great location and friendly staff.
- 3/5
Staff was really nice but first original room was less than to be desired. Was given a different room and was fine. Currently going under renovations so should be fine afterwards. Make sure to bring shower shoes.
- 5/5
Small but very clean !!! Very nice and helpful staff !!
- 1/5
They are not clear on their website , not one room has a bathroom there is no air conditioning. And they said that in those times they don’t allow air conditioning. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend had to immediately leave. And if you a women traveling alone don’t go you will have to share a bathroom and wait for others. The pricing is too much for what they’re giving they need to get it together! They had time to redecorate the entrance but not the rest of the hotel.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and clean rooms
- 3/5
Por el precio y ubicación muy bueno
- 3/5
Room was clean, felt premises was safe unlike other T'giving Parade stays before renovation. Desk staff courteous, nothing more. Maid staff friendlier.BIG NEGATIVE--no coffee in lobby until 8:30 AM. Not really coffee but hot water in a heated urn with packets of instant coffee. Embarrassing.
- 5/5
Very clean, no complaints. There's plenty of shared bathrooms and they are always clean.
- 5/5
Good service
- 5/5
I do enjoy the time , very friendly staff and super clean the hotel.
- 5/5
Clean and safe. Great price.
- 3/5
Very noisy. Very Small. But for one night and just a few hours of sleep … why not ! Location is Awesome. Shared bathroom is just okay, could be worse, could be better!
- 5/5
Clean, and perfect for the price
- 1/5
Cleanliness, the receptionist who checked me in was very rude and unfriendly, he must not be working in a customer service environment.
- 3/5
While the room was clean, the bathroom in our hallway was out of order. The room itself was very poorly isolated as we could hear every single thing happening outside.
- 1/5
NO Saprate restroom Bed is old Quality blanket is Is bad bad Soup Quailty in share bathroom Very bad experance Really
- 3/5
The staff was courteous. However, the floor I was staying on was under construction and full of drywall dust. The temperature of my room could not be controlled and was constantly hot. There are no paper towels or hand soaps in the bathrooms. So, you have to wait until you get back to you room to wash your hands, which does not feel hygienic with touching doorknobs. The bathrooms were often out of toilet paper.
- 1/5
There was no bathroom in the room. The Americans Inn did not make it clearly know that the rooms did not have bathrooms in the rooms, that this inn had shared barrooms in the hallway. I immediately had to find another place to stay. I am a woman traveling alone in New York, no way in hell am I sharing a bathroom with anyone in an inn.
- 5/5
The room is exactly what I needed for just resting after walking NYC. The location is everything! Near Empire State and Times Square. The rooms look smaller online, in person it was perfect for me and my wife for our 3 night stay
- 4/5
The room was tiny but functional. Shared bathroom is always tricky. There are plenty bathrooms to choose from, sometimes we had to check several before finding one that was usable. Flushing seems to be a big issue for a lot of people..... But overall, we had a great time and slept well.
- 5/5
Zacarias was so helpful in checking us in and allowing us to hold our luggage at the hotel after check-out. Very kind.
- 5/5
I was a little skeptical with the shared bathroom but the staff kept it clean. Dan at the desk was very helpful and friendly as well as all the staff. Great location!!
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
Todo fue muy muy bueno. Recomiendo este hotel por su ubicación y precio.
- 5/5
Rooms have been re done. Always very nice staff. Clean and safe.
- 1/5
Be aware this property dont have bathroom for all the room 8 room share only one big bathroom, if u want to cancel your reservation u will lost on your money im stronlgy recommend to stay away from booking this place, for the price you can get better options more cheaper with better view in the city and more importantly ur own bathroom.
- 3/5
not what we expected. small room 12x10, bed takes up most of the room. sink in room but no toilet, shared bathrooms in hallway.
- 5/5
This is great budget hotel. Very simple, but safe, clean, and hospitable.
- 4/5
Es un HOSTAL no un hotel pero es un muy buen hostal. Los baños si son compartidos pero muy privados, el cuarto muy bien y el edificio también. Muy cerca de times square
- 5/5
Clean and quiet rooms
- 5/5
The bathroom was outside of the room but it worked just fine for us. Our stay was amazing!
- 5/5
Would love to be back.
- 5/5
Very convenient location clean good for thr price and location
- 5/5
Clean room for the price
- 4/5
Great place, centrally located near everything, busy street that felt safe. No frills. Just what is needed. Bathrooms were clean and there was always one available.
- 5/5
I highly recommend staying here if you are on a budget and want to be in a prime location! Our room was renovated and had a nice view out to the city. At first I was worried about the shared bathrooms, however there are plenty bathrooms on each floor so you will always find one available. Bathrooms are also kept clean and stocked. The room was small but perfect for 2 adults.
- 4/5
Excellent location in Manhattan, friendly staff and free breakfast snacks.
- 1/5
BE AWARE- this hotel has no bathrooms in them. The room was extremely small, with tile floor. 300$ is nuts for this tiny room. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every siren, people yelling, horns honking, ALL NIGHT LONG. They were doing construction and the smell was horrible. The beds were so uncomfortable. Never again!!! STAY AWAY.
- 1/5
The rooms were hot with no working air conditioning, the rooms were very small, bathrooms dirty, lots of teens running the halls, the elevator was horrid and didn’t feel safe.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing. When we arrived our room had a strong cigarette smell even though it's a no smoking facilty and they quickly moved us to a different room which was smaller, but more updated and we appreciated the upgrade. I also needed to print tickets to a show last minute and they were able to do that efficiently for me. The housekeeping staff was friendly. The shared bathrooms were plentiful on each floor and although staff was often cleaning them, somehow there's always someone's hair in the drain, or water splashed all over the countertop. It's just how it goes with shared space when not everyone takes as much care in keeping it nice or cleaning up after themselves, no fault of the hotel or staff. I do think it's worth mentioning that you'll want earplugs. I often stay in this area and expect heavy street noise, but this was the first time it felt like the windows were open because of how loud it was. I tripled checked and they were closed. Maybe they are super thin windows. Again, it's the city, so I expect it, but be prepared with your white noise phone app and earplugs.
- 1/5
The staff was rude and unprofessional. When I shared a concern about the room (no space to put CPAP machine), he basically said not my problem. Same when expressing our dissatisfaction around a dirty shared bathroom. He said there was no manager to contact and would not give me the last name of the manager per their policy. Also, the website is not clear about shared bathrooms. Not listed until you look at the rooms.
- 3/5
Poor service, no heat and very little hot water, sharing bathrooms was horrible!!
- 3/5
A/C did not made my room warm enough.
- 2/5
The room was not clean, the laminate was dirty. When I arrived in the shared bathroom there was hair everywhere and a trash can full of trash that was not thrown out until I left. Since the bathrooms are shared, at least they should be cleaned often. The location is great, but unfortunately that's all. The rooms are extremely cramped and it's very noisy all the time.
- 3/5
On check in we had a double and the receptionist said they would move us to a twin after the first night, did not happen
- 5/5
Yes .the heat was not on.
- 2/5
I have stayed in this hotel before and had really great experience, this time it was different and also noticeably more expensive. It has great location, in my first stay it was very clean, the bathrooms, although on the floor for people to share were cleaner than in some other hotels with bathroom in the room, this time I was so disappointed, it was dirty all 3 days, but the room was VERY clean and nice. The air in the hotel was horrible and on Saturday night I couldn't take shower because it wasn't working. There is a TV in the room but not functioning, yes it has streaming platforms but unless you live in the US, international tourist don't have Amazon, Netflix etc. accounts, as a tourist I usually watched local news for any weather, news updates. Also this time the hotel was so noisy late at night, in the middle of the night, early in the morning, some were bad guests but some sounded like bad employees. Contacted the hotel but without any acknowledgement or apology for the bad experience.
- 3/5
Yes we found grocery store and cafes nearby!
- 1/5
Outside noise is so bad. Feeling like prison. Expensive for condition.
- 3/5
A good resonable place to just sleep. Shared washrooms were clean, wifi service was good, and staff were friendly.
- 5/5
This hotel was a real surprise, I only stayed one night but I would stay again, it’s not fancy or luxurious, but it was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I think you could almost eat off the floors and it is a one room and shared bathroom but on the floor I was on the fifth floor. I counted three bathrooms on that floor and the bathroom was right across from my room. It was literally two steps from my door to the bathroom. It’s mainly quiet but you can’t hear when somebody’s in the hall. I’m not a person that needs a bunch of fancy things. I just wanna clean room and a clean bathroom and that’s all I needed. I would definitely stay again. The location of the hotel also there’s very walkable. I was going to a concert at Madison Square Garden and I literally could walk everywhere I needed to go.
- 2/5
Everything was great until last day. We find an unwanted animal in our room
- 3/5
Reception staff was welcoming. The mouse in our room was not. We were downsized to a different room and not updated floor due to the mouse so we didnt get the room or services we paid for. I have contact Expedia and was told its up to the Hostel (not a Hotel) to decide if they want to reimburse me for my troubles and room change.
- 5/5
The only thing i can complain about was that it wasn’t real coffee but instant
- 5/5
It is a very neat place to stay at the heart of Manhattan!!
- 3/5
Room was really small and bed was creaky and uncomfortable. Shared bathroom was fine which surprised me.
- 5/5
Central to my needs ,safe area 23 hours access, very affordable . A simple breakfast included .
- 4/5
Nothing fancy but for the price it is very clean. Shared bathrooms are kept spotless and stocked. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are not fancy, but great for price. And clean.
- 2/5
Sorry American Brothers and Sister! You dont have best Airlines unfortunately! Learn something from Qatar, singapore or even India or Turkish airlines! Emirates still better for any destinations 😊
- 1/5
No sleep at all. Builders working 24/7 across the road
- 5/5
The bathrooms were always keep clean and had plenty of them on the floor, for every fours rooms was a full bathroom. I would stay here again, a little noisy at night from traffic, police vehicles and fire trucks because of old original windows that didn’t stop noise. But u come to New York to party, u can sleep when u get back home.
- 2/5
I was not informed of an additional fee even though we paid in full.Upon arrival we were informed that they have shared bathrooms. In addition,a $150 hold. I've never heard of more than $100. We will never stay there again. We go to NYC several times a year
- 5/5
we arrived in the morning and we’re able to check into our room because it was ready. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are small as expected. There are several bathrooms on each floor. Each of them were clean with tub and shower as well as a toilet and a sink the rooms were clean. Do not expect a quiet place to sleep as you are in the heart of Midtown, New York overall great experience.
- 5/5
Good, I’ll stay again
- 5/5
Clean room and within walking distance of Bryant park
- 3/5
Get rid of the scratchy sheets! I like the newness and cleanliness, apparently it has just been remodeled. The cleaning staff was friendly. The front desk staff was. Kind of. Cool and uncaring. Location is good if you want to be in town Square madness.
- 4/5
- 4/5
They need to let people know if there’s renovations happening. We were floor 3 and that floor is completely under construction during the week days and the workers are very loud. The hotel it self was great otherwise.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 3/5
you get a dorm room with a sink inside and community bathroom tiny ass sheets and a tv that was uncomfortable to see because it was off set to the bed. but because the company i kept it furned ot to be fantastic and fun for us because we adjusted and went fooding in the area and hopped around good experiance but hotel was not what i expected but the price beat the others around and parking is no discount across the street
- 1/5
It’s 2025 , I was highly disappointed
- 5/5
It’s a perfect spot to sleep in and be out all day. The front desk was understanding and changed our room at our request. I would come back to stay in New York on a budget and spend the money saved on other things
- 2/5
You don't have your own bathroom -- its shared down the hall, maybe it said that but I didn't notice. The wifi was terrible, but since there was no desk and no chair maybe didn't matter. The air con made a screeching sound, I had to turn it off to sleep.
- 1/5
Was the most sketchy and disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my entire life. You will be sharing a bathroom with t your entire floor, the bedding is awful, hotel security is awesome. I would never recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
This spot was so perfect for us! I couldn't be happier. The room was clean, wash room was clean it really exceeded my expectations. Will definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Great place for a great price. 10-15 minute walk to times square. Located perfectly in Midtown. The bathroom situation made me nervous at first, but turned out great!
- 3/5
No bathrooms in rooms.
- 2/5
Also, waiting area is not clean, too small, chait is noz cozy while waiting for check in time
- 3/5
Small
- 3/5
For the purposes of this specific trip, the hotel was centrally located. I realize that the hotel seems to be under renovation. That said, the noise from the street and the building itself was pretty high. I'm normally a very heavy sleeper, but I can't say I got a lot of sleep during my stay- not a deal breaker though. The room and the shared bathroom was not clean. The sink in my room was dirty, and I dropped something on the floor which gave me occasion to look under the bed- dirty. The bathroom was also not very clean- I'm thankful I thought to pack flip flops. I wish there had been lamp light available in the room instead of over head lighting. I felt as if I had been transported back to Times Sq. in the 70's. If a prepubescent Jodi Foster or Jon Voight had shown up at my door in cowgirl/boy getup, I would not have been surprised. Inexpensive as the room was (for NYC) I don't think I'd opt for a shared bathroom situation again. I'm sure once the renovation is over, the hotel will be more presentable and comfortable. I hope what is being done to the lobby and hallways will also be done to the rooms and shared spaces.

Bedbugs bedbugs bedbugs…
- 5/5
Excellent
- 2/5
Poor web connection and hotel price much higher than in the past
- 1/5
Not what I expected
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
The cleanliness of the property, room, bathroom, it's near transportation and you can walk to near sites if you choose. Definitely will be coming back.
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
Thanks New York
- 3/5
Too noisy
- 1/5
- ROOM WAS NOTHING LIKE PHOTOS
- 4/5
It was okay.
- 2/5
Basic food options.
- 3/5
Location and price are the best thing. Place was clean but the area is noisy. We recommend to use earbuds.
- 4/5
close to everything.. walkable..perfect spot!! new york city vibe right in front of your building. from coffee shops, bars, parks, rooftop bars and resto, souvenirs and subway station.

Good service
- 1/5
Horrible! All dirty
- 5/5
Wonderful accommodationsin the heart of the city. Couldn't ask for more. I would definitely stay again on a future trip.
- 5/5
Great Stay. Noisy on the street but that it to be expected
- 5/5
Breakfast??!? Just coffee
- 5/5
More breakfast
- 5/5
Couldn't ask for better staff, service & place. Loved it!
- 2/5
It is a decent hotel to stay in
- 1/5
👎
- 2/5
It was ok did not like not having a bathroom in room
- 3/5
Americanna is in a great locatikn. Shower and toilet are shared. Somewhat few amenities but came at a reasonable price for the heart of NYC.
- 5/5
I stayed at Americana Inn for two weeks, and it was absolutely perfect. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city and within walking distance to many major attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the entire property felt very safe and secure. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, making it feel like a true home away from home. It’s also very cost-friendly, which is a huge plus for an extended stay in New York. I can’t say enough good things—highly recommended!
- 5/5
Very great front desk staff, especially the middle aged gentleman, who I sought directions from everyday as I explored New York Manhattan City Area, having visited from Trinidad and Tobago and the building was kept very clean and tidy on a daily basis by Ms Maria, very affordable esoecially where it is located, have no regrets booking this Inn, recommend that a breakfast could be included than the current booking
- 4/5
It was a great stay and the staff members were very nice.
- 1/5
Twin beds, small TV with no remote, mini sink and bed was dirty. Sorry but I could not recommend. Staff was very accommodating with giving me a full refund.
- 4/5
This place worked- toning fancy, squeaky bed, o art on the walls but it was clean, in a great location, and the guests were quiet. There was a lot of street noise where I was but it didn’t keep me up. It worked well for what I needed in a stay.
- 1/5
Stay away- everything is terrible
- 4/5
Close to Times Square and easy to find dining options.
- 1/5
Not very clean.
- 3/5
I did enjoyed the convenience of the location, staff members, and the room placement. Not so much, not having the bathroom inside the room, it was dirty, and unavailability of continental breakfast.
- 5/5
Small room but everything was clean and ready. I would definitely stay there if I needed.
- 5/5
Everything was good.
- 5/5
We spend most of our time outside anyways so this works perfectly for us. Thank you, Timmy
- 3/5
It’s good for the price but okay overall.
- 5/5
I would stay her again
- 2/5
Doesn’t feel like an hotel at all, won’t even consider it as a motel. One bathroom/ shower for the whole floor, and no hotel water.
- 4/5
The inn is a more affordable option compared to area hotels. The place was clean, neat, with no bells or whistles. The staff was welcoming for the most part. The room was comfortable, but it did not have a fridge, which was a surprise. The online description mentioned parking, but we never saw any parking nearby. Fortunately, we took the train in from southern CT.
- 1/5
Not a comfortable place to stay.
- 5/5
As nearby everything!
- 4/5
I wasn’t sure what to expect because of ‘shared bathrooms’. No fans in the bathrooms but it was just fine. The sleeping rooms were very clean, comfortable beds. A little inconvenient for great location.
- 5/5
Great value, great location, I am recommending it for short stay if you do not mind to share bathroom.
- 5/5
Quiet and Comfortable
- 5/5
Good check in and staff very helpful. Room basic but clean. Great location.
- 4/5
Great location
- 4/5
The staff were lovely. All very friendly and helpful. I was a little sad that there was no desk, or even a tiny table with a chair. There was space for it. I had to either sit on the floor or bed to work. I ended up going to the library. Bathrooms were cleaned often, which I appreciated.
- 3/5
Small room but clean. Community bath rooms. Good location for time square
- 3/5
It was great
- 3/5
It’s what I expected for that price in midtown so no surprises.
- 3/5
Location is great!
- 5/5
I like, I have used for a couple time
- 5/5
It was a nice location, close to multiple shops and subway stops and walking distance to major tourist spots, and for a place to just sleep/get ready it met my needs. I never had to wait for an available bathroom and the one closest to my room was available all but one time, which I then went to the next closest one which was open. If I get to visit NY again, I will probably see about staying here again.
- 1/5
No isolation to sound outside on the street.
- 1/5
I was not able to reach anyone to check in, and had to find another hotel last minute! I requested a refund but was ignored
- 5/5
Excellent location. Very nice property, seems recently renovated. I knew the bathrooms would be shared when I booked it and it wasn't a problem at all. There's several on each floor and I never had to wait for one.

Excellent place to stay for a few days but the bedroom doors needs a peephole to keep the door safely.

The people were nice and it was clean but I was very surprised to see we shared bathrooms

Hotel is an affordable option for NYC. Not for seaoned travellers. Rooms are tiny. No bathrooms in rooms! Bathrooms were clean but...

Very small, no bathroom in the room

Inexpensive. Did realize it was community bathroom. Wouldnt go there with family or more than one night.

Fairly convenient location by Bryant Park. Even though it's a shared bathroom, it's private and only 3-5 rooms per bathroom. Plus, there is a sink in every room which was great. The sink and toilet were not cleaned everyday. There was no soap anywhere in rooms or bathrooms. Some of the staff were incredibly nice. Others less so. The check out time is at 11 AM, rather than 12 PM, which is the time published their website.

It gave the feel of a hostel but with a little more.

DO NOT RECOMMEND - the windows are paper thin and all the city sounds come the through -ugh- I had noise canceling head phones and still could hear- at 5:30 am the construction across the street started and it was deafening - I have video. Trying to talk to my family on the phone, they thought I was in the street. the rooms look nothing like the pictures, older, dirty, need updated, and just a sink- shared bathroom in small letters means 8 or more other rooms share the bathroom in the hall… the only shower and place to go to the bathroom … shared by strangers, when you gotta go you have to wait… not ok. Also the breakfast which the front desk guy called a snack - a plain bagel and hot water for instant coffee. Do you really want your memory of New York to be that you pooped your pants waiting for the room four doors down to get out of the shower… or to be singing karaoke to some loud polka music with the guy in the street below at 2am (real things) … real adventures of NYC at the nightmare American INN
