Great location, friendly staff, decent room, with nice bathroom and a coffee machine. The lift took a long time to call over 27 floors and was a little temperamental with stopping at the right floors

The breakfast was a good value and the waiter very professional. The pics showed much bigger windows than the room had. You had to make a nonintuitive second selection to find the actual windows.
- 4/5
Great location. Staff was very pleasant. Room was clean. Nice to have a real closet plus iron/ironing board, but some furnishings were rotted (but functional). Odd bathroom configuration (towel ring just above the sink faucet?!) but manageable. Very nice patio in front of the building. Elevators are kind of slow. Using the stairs requires a circuitous route and there's a notable amount of trash and litter.

The location Rooms were very small. Bathroom was dated. Lobby was super small. Had to wait 15 minutes for the elevator. Most of the time I had to walk down 5 flights of stairs. At one point there were 20 people in the lobby. It was hard to get out the door.

Relatively close to Times Square which is good however it it terribly small inside. The tv wasn’t even connected to the wifi so you couldn’t even watch it, when I tried telling the staff they said they fixed it but the tv still didn’t work. I found a dirty face mask behind the tv as well. Elevators take forever and only hold so many people you need to wait for even longer. On the contrary the cleaning staff was very kind and helpful.
- 4/5
Positives Location is brilliant, in that your close enough to the action without all the noise and expense. Plus, loads of decent shops nearby for essentials. Times Square only 20 minute walk away. Neighbourhood was really safe and everyone friendly. Good for families. Rooms were decent. No resort fees (all in the initial price with no additional fees on arrival) Negative They didn’t clean or tidy our room nor replace towels on the last night. Might have been an accidental oversight and like to think it was. Shop on site is well expensive and I recommend you go to the 7-11 round the corner. Fridge in room didn’t work. Staff a little inattentive. I would stay here again as it was a good blend of price and value, all things considered.
- 4/5
The location, the staff The elevators, two for too many people and floors took time to be in the ground floor

The room was relatively spacious, pretty, modern, clean, and quiet. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location super convenient right next to Penn Station, and close to so many attractions and plenty of restaurants and bars. Highly recommend. Except for the two old elevators, with one of them breaking down twice in our two nights there. It made it hard to get in and out, especially with suitcases.

I really liked the location, more than I expected. It's in the old "garment district" of New York, which hasn't yet been totally erased by new construction. Also very close to Pennsylvania Station, which was my gateway in and out of the city. Room was fine, a little small but more or less what I expected for a Doubletree. I was surprised that there was daily maid service making the bed and leaving new towels. The lobby is very small, only two small elevators inadequate for a 27-story hotel. I had a clogged bathroom sink issue that wasn't fixed in the three days I stayed there.
- 4.5/5
I liked that it was close to everything. Room was cozy and not a bad price for midtown NY It took forever to get extra towels but one cleaning lady was fast when I addressed the issue. Room was small but it was ok cause we weren't in the room much anyway.

According to the price, the rooms are very small, and the towels are very old with a very bad smell. The hand wash sink in the washroom is also too small to use properly. The property needs an upgrade.

The location was really convenient for my work in New York in Manhattan. My check-in and check out was very smooth and I did not have any trouble. I loved the complimentary cookie on arrival and I did order room service which was very prompt and quick. I thought the room was a little small as compared to what I have paid for and stayed at other Hilton hotels but it was adequate for the couple of days that I stayed for in NYC. Also did not unfortunately have a microwave like the other Hilton hotels I have stayed at!

We picked up a room last-minute for an amazingly reasonable price and were delighted with our overnight stay. A big plus for us was location: A 10-minute walk from Penn Station, a block away from a 1/2/3 train subway stop, and steps away from the M7 bus up 6th Avenue. Beyond that, the room itself was comfortable and well-appointed (with a few minor dings), the front desk staff and “bellhop” were warm and helpful, and there’s a Pain Quotidien and small food market just up the block at 7th (near the subway stop) to grab lunch or whatever.
- 5/5
Staff is GREAT!!! Very attentive to all needs. Nice group of people that all work together. Room clean, great location, they organize a car to the airport, just make ever step of the trip work and with very nice touch!

Excellent location. Front desk staff is friendly and professional. Elvators weren't working for most of the stay. Or if working it was only one. The housekeeping staff of this hotel love to congregate and talk loudly at all hours of the day. They also repeatedly allowed the doors to the staircase to slam shut as they came and went. I had to tell them to quiet down several times on this visit. I use hotel often and this is a persistent problem.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay. I booked five rooms a week ago; however, upon arrival, our group was assigned rooms across four different floors. Location was great, bottles of water were a bonus but we were 4 people and were given 2, having a bath was a bonus. Fantastic view of the Empire State building. Free Wifi was a good addition We were a party of four in a double room but there was not enough towels, cups/tea etc on a daily basis, staff needed reminding when more were requested. The room for four was very cramped leaving no access to one side of the bed. The hotel kindly stored our luggage at check-out for the day for no cost.
- 4/5
The location was great. Walking distance to Empire State and the Hop on and Off Bus…..and Times Square and Madison Sq Gardens. Easy reach to Met and Central Park by cabs/uber but a bit pricey. But that’s NY! Local area felt safe. A few good restaurants very close; so easy after long days. Definitely the hop on hop off is good to get around from this hotel and that saves money if doing a lot. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Really helpful. Room very clean and cannot complain. Good view of Empire State from our room. Never waited too long for lifts. To reiterate the staff were all lovely. So keep doing that! Bar was not open when we went downstairs. Very small bar area and didn’t feel like breakfast would be good there so we didn’t partake. Communal areas need some TLC but more a comment on investment.Need to upgrade a bit as some places are a bit shabby however if you are out most of the day it’s not an issue!

The hotel was nice and the staff was good. The room was a little tight and the street seemed a little sketchy after dark.

This hotel is perfectly located near everything and close to many metro lines, and you can easily walk to them. I upgraded to a room with a view of the Empire State building, and the view was amazing, however there was a missed opportunity to position the bed on the side of the view. I was disappointed with that. The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel but my room felt more like 3/3.5. The cabinet's door didn't close properly, same with drawers. The coffer maker was pretty low quality and I couldn't make the safe work. The room was very clean though, the staff very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable overall and I would definitely go back next time! I didn't use any amenities (or even knew there were some) so I can't comment on that. Maybe a brochure in the room could have been helpful to explain what was available. Overall I would recommend this hotel!

I did not eat at the hotel so I can't comment on that. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I asked for a late checkout and they happily accommodated. The room was pretty quiet except for the occasional and perfectly normal street noise like a siren or car honk. It did seem like there was a relatively small window to have one's room cleaned. Because it was just me, it was not an issue but I slept in every morning and did some work in the room after so my room was never cleaned. But the housekeepers were very nice when I asked if I could get some extra coffee for my room. Pretty good location. About a 15 minute walk from the theatre district, a few more minutes for MOMA and about 10 mins from some of the good dining and shopping areas of Chelsea. The stop for the 1 line is just around the corner.

The elevators especially in the morning are nightmare. Rooms were cleaned daily but not so thoroughly. Once they forgot to take the dirty towels from the bathroom floor. One day they changed the sheets with ones with stains on them.

The room was not swept. Housekeeping did bare minimum. Location great. Front desk not exceptional.

It is a short walk from Penn Station I was on the 4th floor, and there was a lot of noise early in the morning. I think it was due to garbage trucks.

While the property looks renovated on the outside, the rooms have not been updated. The rooms have outdated radiators with obnoxiously loud units. It made it hard to sleep without headphones. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Penthouse was great
- 4/5
Stayed here recently in the penthouse room for the night, which was a reasonable price for the size of the room plus the terrace! We were greeted by friendly staff and warm cookies. The room itself was nice, somewhat outdated bathroom and kitchen area but overall was a great room. The only disappointment was that I submitted a request to make it feel special for my boyfriend’s birthday so even a note or an extra cookie would’ve felt like a nice touch but otherwise it was a good stay. Very close walking distance to Penn/MSG

From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by friendly staff, lead by Dawn, that was eager to help and get us into a room as soon as possible. We took a red eye flight from LA to JFK. It took some time and we headed out to explore Manhattan. Dawn called me when the room was ready. Held our luggage for us. I want corporate to know that they are a great team and an asset to Hilton!!! We will be back to stay again.
- 5/5
The lobby and elevators does need some refurbishment.
- 1/5
Room wasn’t ready, at 4:30 I took a lesser room.
- 4/5
Bed was comfortable; room was small but that's expected in NYC; hotel served its purpose and the staff was very nice.

The location was great and the place was very clean. The staff was also very nice. The only issue was that there was no mini fridge in our bedroom. We really needed one, and although the staff arranged to bring one, it was only available the next day. Other than that, we had a good stay.

Fantastic location . Easy walking distance to Penn Station / Madison Square Garden. Clean room , spacious for Manhattan . The only slight issue were the lifts , which aren’t big enough for the size of the hotel so they are very busy and it can be slow ..
- 4/5
Though I wish the elevators were a bit wider and took a while to go up and down the floors. Overall, a great experience
- 4/5
Everything was as expected and the staff were very friendly.
- 2/5
The room was really small with a double bed instead of the queen we reserved. There was no heat in the bathroom so it was ice cold.
- 2/5
One elevator was broken leaving only one for all 30ish floors. Shower and bathroom were severely subpar.
- 5/5
I’d recommend this if you want a nice place to rest and be a few blocks from Times Square and near bunch of stuff in NY
- 5/5
Romaine at the front desk was lovely. Very helpful and welcoming. Room was fine.
- 3/5
The room was okay, though not super clean—there was hair in the bathroom. The lobby had a humidity smell that was covered with a very strong air freshener.
- 5/5
Room was clean and the staff was great.Stayed at 3 different midtown hotels and this was the best hotel we’ve stayed at so far.
- 5/5
Welcoming staff, clean room, excellent location
- 3/5
Amenities. Fridge didn’t work and wasn’t able to get a working one until almost the second night
- 3/5
Good location if you want to be pretty central and within walking distance. I’ve stayed in better places in the area but if you’re not planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel it’s not the worst. Service was nice, room was clean. Pretty small overall but a good budget option if you just want a place to sleep. Held luggage as well. Not my favorite but it worked for what we needed.
- 5/5
Excellent service, clean, comfortable, room was smaller but comfortable.
- 1/5
There is zero sound proofing on the windows, and was extremely loud outside. Called down twice to talk to front desk and all they said was nothing they can do. Don’t offer rooms where it’s so loud people can’t sleep. Also no drapes on the windows and was very bright all night. Heating didn’t work properly. Overall pretty bad experience!
- 2/5
I was underwhelmed there was nothing to shout about everything was just ok
- 4/5
Very nice
- 2/5
Unfortunately, my stay was not great because there was no hot water. With the current cold temperatures, hot water is essential, and not having it made showering and basic comfort very difficult. For a hotel of this level, consistent hot water should be a standard, and this issue significantly affected my experience.

The entire staff treated us like gold extra kudos to Samantha at the desk and Debbie the room cleaner and the nighttime manager was awesome Big tall guy took care of our ever knee every need always works with Samantha to be quite honest we retreated like royalty My wife was handicapped she got injured on the cruise and they took such good care of us it was better The best hotel experience we have had ever thank you

The property is definitely worse for wear. Elevators are slow. The rooms are tiny, and the finishings (paint, cabinetry, bathroom tiles) need touch-ups. The heating unit was unbearably loud and kept me up at night. There was no mini-fridge in my unit when I checked in. The television kept breaking over and over. The ice machine on my floor was broken, and that meant going down several floors to find the next one. The location is good, the staff are friendly, but the property needs a big refresh.
- 4/5
Staff was great, room was clean, good located, room was smaller than I expected and the view was exactly as promised.
- 4/5
Staff were very courteous and friendly. The only disappointment was being told I would get a call when my room was ready to check in and I did not get a call.
- 3/5
The staff did their best but we requested a king room and received 2 doubles . They gave us 2 drink tickets that only allotted for wine/ beer / well and breakfast to make up for it .
- 5/5
Great location everything was clean and everyone was very helpful
- 3/5
The rooms were very small. The view was not great but I understand with the location. Other than that it was clean and the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 2/5
The elevator took forever and the front desk staff were okay but it wasn’t the best hotel stay I had.
- 4/5
Welcoming staff and great area.
- 3/5
Room and bathroom could have been cleaned better. The room floor was dirty.
- 5/5
10/10
- 5/5
Staff was great and room was clean! Great location and walkable to many places. The only complaint if any was the small elevators. Some people waited a awaits to get down but it’s a hotel and if that’s the only complaint then highly recommend!
- 5/5
The only issue we had was that the cleaner initially did not leave coffee or coffee cups. We had to ask the front desk three times before it was finally resolved. Overall, we would still highly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Rooms are very small and older, but gets the job done to have a decent priced room near midtown/Times Square. Walking distance of Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, Times Square, plenty of food, and more.
- 5/5
ckean room and very nice staff. Nice location.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
The room was very clean and nice. The staff is nice. The location is terrific. This is not a hang out in the lobby hotel, but a decent place to stay sleep while you spend a couple days in NYC kind of place.
- 4/5
Staff - Awesome.
- 4/5
Didn't eat at the hotel. Room was great except a previous guest had taken the TV remote control. I complained on my first day, but it was never replaced.
- 5/5
Staff were very welcoming, appreciative of the bag service while I waited on my room. Room was available early. Room was spotless and the views from the penthouse were incredible. The on site room service for no additional fee was immaculate. Amazing food. The bar in the lobby was very convenient. Great centralized location. All in all I highly recommend.
- 4/5
Terrific room and excellent location, we enjoyed our stay. The elevators were busy and slow so we recommend staying on a lower floor.
- 4/5
Standard rooms, friendly staff. Main issue was the elevators. Takes a long time if you were to wait for one, so almost always had to take the stairs to avoid waiting 5 minutes.
- 5/5
Well worth the price
- 5/5
Helpful staff, timely check-in.
- 4/5
Too small
- 4/5
Nice place overall. Staff very pleasant. Only 2 elevators for 27 floors and one of them was out of order for a bit. Not a deal breaker but a nuisance. I’d go back.
- 4/5
It was nice
- 1/5
Room and bathrooms much smaller than expected, Hotel staff/house keepers use same elevators as guests and elevators were slow and always full.
- 5/5
The location was perfect! Not too close to time square but close enough and walking distance to everything. Plus, if you learn the train system you can go anywhere in New York. Our room was small but our views were fantastic!
- 5/5
Basic but clean and tidy rooms. Best bit was the location, fantastic x
- 1/5
The carpets at the entrance are dirty, the staff are not welcoming, and there’s an overall attitude as if guests should be grateful to be there. The lifts are old, slow, and have an odd smell. With only two lifts serving 26 floors, expect a 20‑minute wait every morning during peak times. Breakfast is another major issue. It’s a seated service, but the dining area only accommodates 42 people—completely inadequate for a 26‑floor hotel. Every morning, guests were visibly frustrated while waiting far too long to be seated. The entire process, from waiting to ordering to receiving food, takes 60–90 minutes. It’s poor planning, and the staff don’t seem concerned. My room also had a strong, unpleasant smell. When I raised this with reception and mentioned that this wasn’t the standard I was used to from DoubleTree in London, the response was, “Well, this is not London, this is America.” That was enough for me—I checked out a day early. I’m disappointed that Expedia recommended this hotel despite having my travel history. There was no support from them either; I submitted feedback through the app and received no response from customer service. Be cautious…..
- 5/5
Yes very pleasant! Big up Martha, Romani and Samantha
- 5/5
Great place to stay and great staff
- 5/5
Yes, all personel was very friendly respcful and Helpful, kudos to Samantha make s me fell like a VIP
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. Room clean (but small). Only complaint is how busy the elevators can get and long wait times for them. Overall had a very nice stay though and would stay here again!
- 3/5
Also the bathroom sink was tiny. Like small smalll. It was awful. Doable but awful for that kind of nightly rate.
- 4/5
The room was great. However , The elevator shortage causes long waits to and from lobby to your room.
- 1/5
Checkin process is a slog. Very inefficient. Staff gave wrong address for parking, I called concierge for right address. Same person didnt bother to confirm with upper management for proper address. I ended up wasting time and money parking 8mins away at another lot. Later i talked to another concierge and he gave me the right address. Room is a disaster, toliet didnt work properly, shower runs cold or very hot. Room is tiny definitely not kids friendly room as theres really no space to open a luggage except at the front door entrance and bathroom, blocking pathway everytime it needed to be opened. Didnt offer to transfer to another room with such horrid living conditions. There was also a dead bug on bed sheet we requested for them to change. Never did. Toilet never fixed. Overpriced for a tiny bedroom that's falling apart. It should be only be a 2 star rate hotel at most . Luggage that gets checked in only gets stored in their back room. Theres no services for them bringing it up for you. Making it pointless to checkin luggage. Place needs a proper maintenance and staff retrained.
- 5/5
Very comfortable hotel nestled in the city. Only downside is the elevator situation, but it’s NYC things are busy everywhere.
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly, and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Great place, and service is excellent
- 3/5
It was ok, but the room had a weird smell. Wouldn’t stay again, rather stay at the courtyard marriot one street above, a lot cleaner and way more space
- 4/5
Was a great stay, amazing location, had a beautiful view of the empire state building, and staff were helpful as can be, with any issues. Bit hard to get a lift down in mornings, especially around check out time, so id advise anyone staying, to avoid at those times (especially if youre higher up), but apart from that, this place is a brilliant place to sta! If i come back, it will be here
- 4/5
Check in was easy, staff were polite, room was clean, though like most NY hotel roooms- tiny. Good location. We only stayed as a stopover so cannot comment on the rest of the facilities.
- 1/5
got my whole reservation wrong poor expedia got at the hotel and found out at the end they gave me a single room for 6k when i booked for a group of 4 cancelled everything need a full refund
- 2/5
Room was dirty with dust and false eyelashes and tissue paper everywhere on the floor, complained to the hotel manager and he said it would be cleaned while we were out, came back to the same situation, Very small room for four people, no where to put carry on luggage, apparently its because its New York, we have stopped in many NYC hotels and this has to be the smallest and most expensive , cheaper hotels were much better. Three towels every day for four people , the lift is a nightmare, two tiny lifts serving the whole hotel, staff seem to block them to go from the lobby to the basement, avoid !!!
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Service was excellent!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about them. From check in to check out, they were amazing, friendly, not what is expected of NYC. Helpful. Always kind. The rooms are small, but to be expected in the city. Elevators slow if you’re on a high level, but to be expected with the volume of people. Subway entrances all around. Good location to get where you’re going. Love the staff!
- 2/5
There were only two tiny elevators servicing a 27 storey building. The hallways on the room floors are laughably narrow. The guest rooms are also very small.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and accommodating
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful staff and amazing view from our room.
- 5/5
Everyone who works here is extremely nice & helpful. The room was clean & bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean room, convenient to walk throughout NYC/subway, complimentary hot chocolate/warm cookie, friendy staff/housekeeping.
- 2/5
Price and location were okay.
- 5/5
Room was quite spacious. My only quirk are the elevators as there should be at least 3 to reduce the wait time in between. Other than that I enjoyed the stay as it was in walkibg distance to Penn Station and the subway. I would recomend checking out the Bagel Pub between the mass array of toppings and the lattes you cant go wrong.
- 4/5
Overall, good stay. Rooms are small…😊
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
Great Staff. A trip I’ll remember forever.
- 4/5
The room was clean, staff was friendly and the location was great. The only complaint I have is we could never get them to leave us 4 face towels, since we had 4 people in our room. We had to constantly ask. Do they expect us to share face towels?? Everything else was fine.
- 5/5
Clean, nice area, great staff
- 4/5
Staff was great!
- 5/5
Clean room, attentive staff. Easy access to subway.
- 5/5
Very clean, awesome staff
- 5/5
Very happy with service and cleanliness of the room.
- 5/5
The gentleman who took care of us at check in was super friendly, really appreciated that AND we got upgrade to a room with a view of the Empire State Building, which was a wonderful surprise treat. And the warm cookies!! Also super appreciative of small touches in the room like USB ports in bedside lamps and the low night listen the bathroom. . Those things matter when you’re traveling and tired.
- 5/5
What I loved about this hotel is the great location, near the subway, and walkable wverywhere and the staff was very helpful
- 1/5
Room very small loud and beds too small practically twin bed.
- 2/5
The area is central to everything but the hotel is extremely dated and needs renovations badly, especially for what they are charging. Hallways are very loud and the elevators are a disaster
- 5/5
The staff welcomed us when we arrived. No rooms were available so they checked our bags, let us go play while the room was being cleaned, and called when we could return for check-in. Our room was PERFECT. Clean, well-appointed, quiet at night.
- 5/5
The staff were all friendly and helpful. They called us when our rooms became ready, before the official 4pm check-in time. They also held our luggage before check-in and after check-out so that we could do additional things in NYC. The room was clean and quiet with a view of the Empire State Building.
- 5/5
Location
- 4/5
Water didn’t get warm in shower which was very disappointing. They came to fix but still never got hot. Otherwise everything else was great! Beds comfortable. Quiet.
- 3/5
Small Rooms but great view
- 4/5
Room cleanliness was so so. Lots of hair and dust bunnies under the bed and furniture.
- 5/5
The staff were amazing!
- 3/5
Rooms were small and weren’t very clean. Only two lifts in the building which proved challenging when entering and exiting.
- 5/5
Booked this for my brother. Location was perfect!
- 3/5
Crazy expensive due to Christmas season in NYC
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
Elevator was broken all stay horrible line and only one elevator
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly. Only one of 2 elevators working leading to quite a backlog when trying to leave or return to hotel room.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean. The staff was great and accommodating. The hotel was in walking distance to enough areas once i figured out where i was. :)
- 5/5
Awesome staff and front desk. Room was comfortable and clean with a view of the Empire State Building. Will definitely be back!!!
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had an amazing view of the Empire State Building. While the room smaller than the average room it was very clean and comfortable. There were complimentary cocoa and assorted cookies in the lobby which my 9 year old loved !
- 5/5
The hotel was very convenient to the subway. Close to Macy’s. We were greeted with warm cookies upon check in and each evening they had hot chocolate and cookies available. The room was clean and we appreciated the freshen up everyday
- 4/5
Very clean room. The bathroom needs to be updated but it was very clean. I would stay here again.
- 1/5
Julio at the front desk was great and friendly. The property is very old with small rooms and old furniture. The next room guest snoring kept me up all night. For almost 600 dollars a night it was horrible.
- 3/5
The room was small and the bathroom was not very well maintained. There was areas of mould and the bathtub sink plug didn’t work properly also the shower head leaked. The staff were very helpful and also pleasant but overall the hotel was quite small and while I was happy with my stay there inviting stood out as great. The breaksfast menu as well was quite basic and I felt there could have been more options on there. I probably would go back there but only if there was a deal and the room was competitively priced. The location however was excellent as it was central to everything a first time traveller to New York could want.
- 5/5
Clean room. Attentive staff
- 3/5
Great location and lovely staff, but hotel dated. Especially the bathrooms. Also very loud.
- 5/5
Quick and easy hotel, staff was wonderful, frontdesk so friendly and kind . Will stay there again
- 1/5
This property took 300 out of my account before they even saw my face. And I’ve been a Hilton member for years and they have never did that.
- 2/5
No breakfast
- 4/5
good
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable! The staff was amazing. Diego in tge bar was friendly and made great drinks, their desserts were fantastic. Roymel and Romaine were always helpful and welcoming
- 3/5
We have stayed in several spots all over the city and I'd say that location was forgettable in my opinion. Although the location was close to Penn Station {which is where we needed to be for this trip} and within walking distance to so many of our favorites -- the hotel itself was not something that I would recommend coming back to. The rooms are TINY and yes, I know this is NYC and everything is compact but we have stayed in much larger spaces than this offered. The rooms, bathrooms, hallways and elevator were very compact. Nice to have amenities on the first floor although we did not use them and the staff was friendly - other than that, I can't say I will rush back.
- 4/5
Staff friendly
- 5/5
Staff, cleanliness, value, facilities
- 5/5
Clean room. Close to alot of attractions.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and courteous. In particular, Roy and Darrel
- 5/5
The staff was lovely and checking in after 10pm was so easy. Thank you!
- 3/5
Staff very nice! The room to small and missing appliances, such as refrigerator and coffee machine.
- 4/5
Central hotel that is clean, modern, convenient and excellent value! Couldn’t get the TV channels to work in my room but otherwise I was happy with the hotel
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
Every staff member at the hotel was helpful and polite! They were welcoming as well as accommodating.
- 4/5
Location, price, staff
- 4/5
The only negative was the elevator setup. Two small elevators which the staff also uses - it gets a little obnoxious. Other than that, the location was great and the stay was good.
- 4/5
This was my first time in New York so I was a bit surprised at the size of the room (being from the Midwest, they are smaller than I’m used to) but I understand that space isn’t abundant in the city. However, the room was clean and the furnishings nice. The floors were not carpeted, which I appreciate. The hotel was within walking distance, or located close to the subway, of many sites that we planned to see and I never felt unsafe walking in the neighborhood.
- 4/5
room had some dust. Getting additional towels and sheets took longer than expected. Room service kept things tidy and was very helpful. Front desk was accommodating. These rooms are not family friendly, but we made it work. Overall not a bad experience.
- 5/5
very accomodating staff, clean room (slightly dusty on the ac),

Everything was perfect including an early check in!

The room was great! Staff was very nice. But the elevators have a mind of their own!
- 4/5
clean room
- 5/5
Easy seemless friendly check-in
- 3/5
Staff were lovely and helpful though, I got a late checkout no problem.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious, great location!
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
Excellent accommodations.
- 3/5
Just OK. Two elevators causing long delays because they are used by the cleaning crew. Cleaning schedule seems odd. One person cleans the bathroom. Another brings bottles of water, a third(?) cleans the room. Our room was left unclean with garbage for 2 days. Narrow hallways. Room just ok to small especially the room we had with 2 twin beds.
- 5/5
Lift wait time can be frustrating, but hey it is what it is. Highly recommended.
- 1/5
No interest in refunding stay when nation cancelled flights.
- 1/5
Hotel is very old, one of the elevator was almost everyday was out of service and had to wait minimum 10 minutes to get other one. When I was sleeping night water liquid came from upstairs bathroom and had to change my room, housekeeping big black plastic bag was inside the elevator. Horrible experience with this hotel.
- 5/5
Don’t forget the cookies!!!
- 1/5
Extremely over priced. The bathroom was a mess. Broken floor tile. Chalking was pealing and messy. The sink stopper didnt work. Noise from pupes in the bathroom woke me up. Sounded like clanging as if someone was hitting the metal pipes. The room was extremely small. Ive stayed in hundreds of hotels over 50 years of traving for work at every type of hotel from 5 to 3 star and this was something below 2 stars if i can imagine. I asked the front desk to have someone fix the plumbing issues and nothing happened. Ive stayed at Doubletrees back when Metlife owned them and they were fine. Ive sfayed at roadside motels on occadion that were vetter than thi as for $100 per day.
- 4/5
The elevator was the worse part of it. It took 20-25 minutes to catch it with enough room.
- 4/5
Clean rooms, great location, great view.
- 2/5
Shower stopped mid shower for 30 sec then started again Batteries in safe failed, couldn’t retrieve items Staff was excellent and attended timely to all needs
- 5/5
Muy buen servicio y atención. Gracias a Alvaro y Diego muy atentos
- 5/5
Staff was friendly.
- 2/5
They turn off the water for an hour without notice. As a result, I was delayed to the event that was the sole purpose of my travel. Their accommodation was a few bottles of water without charge 😑
- 5/5
Friendly staff, spotless room with a view of the Empire State Building and great proximity to Madison square garden!
- 1/5
The room was super small, I am not a tall person but the bed was so small and was not comfortable to sleep on it. The price was so much for a probably one star hotel
- 5/5
Was a great stay and they got me a shuttle to the Port terminal for my ship cruise
- 5/5
Amazing staff & service. Would stay here again
- 5/5
Great deal and ideal location, right around the corner from Penn Station.
- 4/5
Only complaints was that I paid for a king bed but they ran out and had two double beds. Also when we turned the heat up the ac area was blowing dust around the room.
- 5/5
We didn't have breakfast.
- 3/5
Room was small but fine for a 2 night stay. It was very noisy at night-from people going in and out the door to the stairs. Door slammed shut every time. Reception staff were not able to offer any directions or a map on how to get to the US Open which was a bit disappointing. The elevator was ridiculously slow.
- 5/5
Safe, clean, lovely staff
- 3/5
The room was overall nice with a nice view and gotel staff were very nice. Unfortunately we were stuck in the elevator as soon as we got there and there was only 1 working elevator which made us late to our event since we were on the 23rd floor. The next day I got stuck in the only working elevator again and once we were able to get out we had to use the stairs with all of our items. Overall its a good hotel but definitely had a lot of inconveniences.
- 3/5
The staff was great! And it was a good location.
- 5/5
Excellent location and staff
- 3/5
Confusion at check in, poor customer service, no apologies or eye contact.
- 4/5
We stayed in one of the penthouse rooms and it was great - roomy and with a balcony that had amazing views. The bathroom was comfortable and had nice toiletries. Staff were very pleasant and we had no problems with the elevators. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is that the breakfast was expensive but nothing special and each paper cup (in the room) had an individual plastic cover which seemed unnecessary and not environmentally great. Minor things though and overall it was a stylish, comfortable and welcoming place to stay in a convenient and safe location.
- 1/5
They gave someone else a key for my room, and they told me that the money will go back to my bank, but they lied
- 2/5
We were also under the impression that the breakfast was free however we were all given an allowance instead. The porridge was cold and the options were limited. Only herbal tea available too. Room size was ok but very cramped and small. Staff were pleasant on the whole but some didn’t understand English and seemed quite rude. Would not recommend or stay again unfortunately.
- 4/5
The hotel was just perfect for what we needed, a nice clean, quiet spot to sleep.
- 4/5
You have to ask them carefully for a good room. We had a room on the 16th floor facing the street that was super noisy, plus the toilet was constantly dripping and the safe didn't close. When we asked them to move us, the room they gave us on the 20th floor was vastly superior. Also the elevators aren't the fastest, but that is to be expected in a fairly old building. Location is great.
- 5/5
Clean room and staff was super friendly!! We will stay there again. Just quick note to maybe update shower curtain so the water doesn’t spillover. Thx for a great stay!!
- 1/5
Rooms not clean, showers working poorly, will never stay here again
- 5/5
Excellent hotel! Perfect location for mid-town and downtown. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and staff 100% friendly and available. This is our second time here and will continue to come back.
- 5/5
The hotel staff was very helpful and pleasant!
- 4/5
The staff, Dawn, Romaine were excellent front desk representatives. Alejandra the bartender equally represented the hotel
- 4/5
I liked most having a restaurant within the property . It was easy to order the food and have delivered to my room.
- 5/5
Great parking and access to shopping was good
- 4/5
All good, standard warm free cookie on arrival always a joy! Staff were great, no complaints.
- 5/5
We stayed for one night, but didn't fly out until 8:45 pm the next day. The staff was awesome about giving us directions to local sites so we were easily able to walk to the Empire State Building, Macy's, and Times Square during the evening. Then the staff stored our bags after checkout the next day while we explored the Flatiron District, and some of the other old architectural buildings. We rode the airtrain to Jamaica Station, then jumped on the LIRR train to Penn Station. From there we walked several blocks in two different directions to arrive at the hotel without any problems.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean room, convenient location.
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Not bad.
- 5/5
Very helpful friendly staff, nice room, excellent mid-town location.
- 5/5
We always stay here when we come to New York. This place is near everything we need to get around and the staff is very nice and accommodating!
- 4/5
Amazing staff, comfortable bed and pillows, nice linens. Very loud hotel, the rooms are very acoustically live, I could hear everything in my neighboring rooms and the hallways are an echo chamber. There is also what I can only describe as a ongoing mechanical moan or whine. After listening to it every night I think it has to do with the cold water pipes.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice for NYC, staff was great, but bed and pillows could be more comfortable. Also, the AC unit is really loud with limited adjustment control. Good location in a walkable neighborhood near several different subway entrances, though!
- 4/5
View of Empire State was lovely. Staff friendly. Great location .
- 5/5
Location is very good - close to Penn station, metro, and buses.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was friendly and very attentive to one’s needs.
- 5/5
Nice affordable hotel in a convenient area. The staff was nice and accommodating. Great stay with 2 kids for 3 nights.
- 5/5
Did not offer a view. of the city.
- 3/5
Hotel was centrally located, walking distance to subway, walked to nice restaurants, felt safe. Loved the coffee shop on the same block. Excellent views of city and Empire State Building from our room. Rooms was small but slept great, comfortable bed. Hotel could use some upgrades but over all good stay due to location and views. Front staff was polite and friendly.
- 5/5
This property for its location and price is great! The staff is really friendly!
- 5/5
The room was small and lacked the usual sofa/armchair that most hotel rooms have, but it’s New York City. Not much to expect, so the small space didn’t bother me. The water temperature was wonky. For both the sink and shower, the water had to run for several minutes to receive hot water. Unfortunately, even after the wait in the shower, the water would still shift from hot to cold. The two elevators did take long because of the number of floors. Luckily, I was on floor two, so I could use the emergency stairs when heading down (couldn’t figure out how to go up them since the door locked behind me though).
- 4/5
The room was clean and spacious enough for a New York hotel. The staff members we encountered were very helpful, and we were even able to check in to our room much earlier than expected. The location was great for our purposes and within walking distance of Penn Station.
- 5/5
The staff were awesome and willing to help with whatever we needed (great service). The rooms were clean and perfect for what we were looking for. This property is in an excellent location and within walking distance of all attractions. Lots of dining options as well. I would recommend this property.
- 2/5
The elevator in the lobby ( the only set) was broken and we were on the 10th floor. Poor housekeeping. What a nightmare.
- 5/5
I was able to view the Empire state building from my room. The room was very clean and the entire staff was very helpful. Very close to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. I definitely would stay again.
- 4/5
This hotel was a great stay for a week, however there were few things that could be better, for starters the wait time for the elevators were
- 3/5
Front desk team is amazing. The hotel itself is a bit run down and renovation is long due. You’re paying for the location.
- 5/5
Great area right near Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. 4 minute walk to my concert and it was so easy. Rooms were clean and the view of the Empire State is superb. Before you leave don’t forget to check out the rooftop bar. It’s free to enter and you can get an amazing selfie with the Empire State in the background up there.
- 4/5
Staff was great, We did have an eleavator issue and I felt for the money breakfast should of been included
- 5/5
The staff was excellent! I arrived before check-in and they gladly tagged the bags and put them in a safe area until I returned. They even called to tell me when my room was ready. I dropped a used play ticket in the lobby, they called my room to see if I wanted it, then saved it so I could pick it up. All of the employees I interacted with were so friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Friendly staffs and good location! Rooms were clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
This was the perfect hotel for our stay in Manhattan. Central location, friendly staff. It was great.

Great midtown location and lots of walkable food options nearby. Room was comfortable. The elevators are slow because only two for a tall building with lots of people and 25 floors!
- 3/5
Staff was nice and accommodating. Our AC unit in our room had dust/debris inside of the blower and the dust could be seen throughout the room. Elevator was down for 1.5 days and the elevator light button on the 19th floor did not illuminate when calling for an elevator, so we did not know if the elevator was being called or not. Had to take the stairs down when the elevator was down due to the wait times.

Friendly Staff

20+ story hotel with broken elevators isn't good. I was okay but can't imagine what it was like for the less mobile, with bags, or on higher floors.

Perfect for my one night stay after a concert at MSG!

People have been great

Everything was great. Service was attentive and friendly. Elevators were quick to arrive. Rooms were normal size for ny(small)!
- 5/5
Easy to get to. Easy to get an uber. Lots of eating options. Nice hotel and very nice staff
- 5/5
Hotel room was clean, daily cleaning service was great. Large safe worked well to store a large laptop and other items. Staff were kind and helpful.

Location

The hotel has a great location! Staff was great!
- 3/5
Staff was nice. Elevators small, two for the hotel, seemed inadequate. Rooms are dated.
- 5/5
Would definitely recommend
- 5/5
Great room for the price. Close to major touristy things but not to to close. Would stay again if I have to stay in Manhattan.
- 3/5
The hotel is located in a nice area in Chelsea. The property itself is in a state of disrepair: the elevators are not always working, the window blinds don't operate properly. My mattress was too soft and worn out.
- 3/5
Noisy, hard to sleep
- 5/5
This hotel is conveniently located in the city. Would stay again. Had a room with a-view on the 25th floor. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Very close walk to Penn Station, also very close to Korea Town.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Great location, walkable to most popular places. View of Empire State Building outside of my window was a nice surprise!
- 4/5
Stayed in the penthouse, great view of the empire State building. Rooms clean and staff helpful. Would recommend
- 5/5
Great property near everything
- 5/5
Everything went perfect.
- 4/5
We stayed here for a long weekend because we were seeing Lady Gaga at MSG and the location was great - only a 5 min walk to the venue. We were also within walking distance to Times Square and Broadway. Comfortable room although a bit small with two queen beds. Lovely view of the Empire State Building. The restaurant and bar was nice and the food was great! Hotel and bar staff were super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return!
- 5/5
In general was great, the fridge in our room didn’t work at its best, but it was really a secondary issue
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
Good location, food service is not what you’d expect at a Doubletree, felt like they were just checking the box but it’s a afterthought compared to Garden Inns and other DT’s it’s pretty bad. Rooms are nice and it’s clean!
- 5/5
Staff were excellent. Room was spotless and bed was really comfortable
- 2/5
Breakfast is good, Bathroom had black mold, front desk staff were dismissive and uninviting.
- 4/5
The elevator breaking down more than once was our only issue. There are only two elevators, so if one breaks down, the other one immediately backs up.
- 4/5
Stayed for a night and was perfect for that! only thing is that I was told that my room was ready before i even got there because i was trying to have an earlier check in time. i got there 350 and we had to wait for our room to be ready?? confusing since check in is at 4pm.. we waited til 415 and at that point i just switched to a room that was already ready because we had to start getting ready for our concert. other than that, was great!

We had a great time last week
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, clean, very nice courtyard in front of property.
- 5/5
Check in staff were so friendly and efficient. Room was clean and a good size for NYC. We were on a low floor and we didn’t not hear a single outside sound — the noise proofing is amazing. Would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Location is convenient and cost-effective for the area.
- 4/5
Generally speaking a decent hotel but felt run-down at times.
- 3/5
Issues with aircon being very noisy, elevator slow tv channels didn’t work and running toilet other than that stay was ok.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel

Excellent staff and stay! Perfect location and easy to walk around the city!
- 3/5

- 5/5
Staff super nice, clean rooms.
- 5/5
Nice place.
- 5/5
Clean, safe .Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great location. Parking garbage right across the street. 15 mins walk to times square. 10 mins to empire state. 5 mins to closest subway. Elevator situation a bit annoying when it's busy but if we miss the early morning rush it's not bad.

The front manager, Dawn was outstanding and so was her team. This was my second stay at this property. The first time was excellent. This time the appliances in the room were not in working condition. Even though they tried to fix it, they were unsuccessful. The dining area needs work, nowhere to throw out garbage and hours of kitchen service is very limited
- 5/5
Probably one of the nicer hotels I have stayed at in NY.
- 5/5
Staff was so helpful in looking for a pair of lost earring!
- 3/5
One of the 2 elevators was broken, so I had to wait up to 10 minutes for it to go down. Water pressure and shower condition was awful.
- 5/5
There were problems but they were very accommodating in getting them resolved fast.

We went to spend a few days with my son. We wanted to stay near the train station. This hotel was a great location. I can’t say enough about the friendliness of the staff we met. We enjoyed sitting outside the hotel at the tables.
- 4/5
No refrigerator in room,...very disappointed. Room was clean though.
- 2/5
Slovenly staff (apart from the front desk, who were excellent), facilities severely lacking and photos on hotels.com don't resemble the hotel at all.
- 4/5
Good location for MSG show, also convenient to midtown. Rooms on the smaller side and AC did not work very well. Staff very nice and attentive
- 3/5
My stay was just okay. management was quite responsive. I found three bugs in my bed on my first night and had my room changed. I received a letter saying that their pest control inspected the room and confirmed there were no bedbugs. I didn’t know one bugs in my bed, but there were bugs. I have a picture and a video. Overall, the room is old, the building is old. The furniture and bathroom are old and have poor ventilation. i brought my own portable air filter. There were only 2 elevators used by guests and staff. So, expect some delays. I was moved to a lower floor thus could take the stairs to get out of the property even during checkout. So, if you’re disabled, expect delay.. and good luck. The lobby is tiny, only has 3 seats. It does have outside seating but many guests cant read or ignore ‘No Smoking’ warning which is not enforced. So unless you like to have lung cancer, this terrace is perfect for you. One day i came back to the room and it was still uncleaned. So I had to wait in their tiny lobby until 6:10pm and fell asleep there because i was so tired. I’m glad I decided to stay at another hotel for another trip. i wouldn’t be coming back here. There are better options in NYC. It was my mistake thinking a Double Tree/Hilton property would be up to its regular standard.

I really liked the cookie at check-in.
- 4/5
The staff and service members were excellent and very helpful.
- 5/5
The hotel is conveniently located in Manhattan. The elevators were slow during busy times
- 5/5
Went to a Vietnamese and a Cuban restaurant and the food and service were outstanding!
- 4/5
Excellent location- 15-40 mins to all major shopping, restaurants and eateries
- 2/5
Bathroom doesn’t vent out. Air conditioner doesn’t work room is hot and humid. Towels worn out.
- 4/5
Dawn was amazing. What a sweet soul. Knew exactly how to win me over after a lil experience with the room service company they use. Really redeemed herself. Alvaro was the sweetest affective guy. The whole staff is nice. The rooms were clean and the view was pretty cool. The elevators can use an update as they’re so small and it shakes when too many ppl are on. The lobby is oferta dated as well.. But overall I’ll definitely book again. Conveniently located and definitely reasonably priced.

Overall great experience

No microwave the microwave that was downstairs didn't work no complimentary breakfast I was charged an additional fee that has yet to be resolved

Only complaint is that there was no air in the hallways while waiting for the elevator so it was hot! The elevators sometimes took awhile so the hot hallways were a bit of a pain.
- 5/5
Very comfortable. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but considering the price, it was sufficient.
- 5/5
Love the location and outside patio in front. Quiet and restful. Good service.

I recently stayed at Double Tree Hilton 128 W. 29th Street New York, NY. 8/7/25-8/11/25 room 2509 and I have to say this was an absolute nightmare. I took my concerns to the front desk and all I got was “oh, I am so sorry, I will write this down and take note of your issues” I understand that not every hotel is perfect and without a few inconveniences or quirks but the list just went on. The first night there I was up most of the night due to this horrible noise intermittently that sounded like a fog horn in the distance. We determined that it must have been the pipes possibly but it went on day and night for the entire stay. The shower was an adventure. I understand water pressure issues in a large building / hotel but it wasn’t losing water pressure during the shower you actually lost ALL water. You had to stand there soaped up and wait and hope that the water came back on and you could rinse a little at a time as the water came back on. The refrigerator did not work, we kept a bucket of ice in there to help keep things cold. In between the beds there was a soft spot / hole and it make the flooring uneven and you kept catching your toes / foot on it and I must say it was not exactly comfortable when you hit that spot. Then the elevators, what a mess. There are 2 elevators and most of the weekend one or the other was out of order. I am almost 60 yrs old and I can tell you 25 flights of stairs is not an easy task. One day that 1 elevator was out I made it down
