Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, some guests find the rooms to be small and the additional fees for amenities to be a downside.

Good location, good bars in the hotel, and clean.
- 4/5
this hotel was centrally located and had many great features including stunning views and a rooftop bar.
- 5/5
super, conveniently located, plenty of food options, easy transportation, hotel also had lots of activities
- 2/5
The hotel also charges a mandatory destination fee that is advertised as including a $20 daily credit. In reality, the credit offers very little value because there are few worthwhile options available to use it on. It feels more like an extra charge disguised as a benefit. The on-site coffee shop was another letdown. The coffee and food quality were mediocre at best, yet the prices were extremely high. Paying premium prices for subpar products only added to the disappointment. Overall, the hotel seems more focused on collecting additional fees than delivering the experience guests are paying for. If you charge a destination fee, provide meaningful benefits. If guests pay for a specific room, honor the reservation. Between not receiving the room we booked, the overpriced and underwhelming coffee shop, and the lack of value from the destination fee, this stay fell far short of expectations. We would not stay here again and would encourage other travelers to carefully review the fees and room guarantees before booking.

Room was clean and staff were friendly! Bed was stiff with limited pillows (we requested a couple extra to help) but overall, outside of the bed and no ice machine for self service (staff supported when available), we loved our stay. Great location! Seriously could not have picked a better location for our needs (access to good food, Broadway, and stand-up).

Lovely hotel, sadly the city view was not overlooking the empire state. All staff were helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome from check in to check out. The room was clean and tidy, but unfortunately did not have any space to unpack clothes, fine for a short break but would be inconvenient for a week’s stay.

Loved our stay. Amazing location, city view, large room with bathroom that also overlooked city was a treat. Staff were awesome and nice to have the $20 per day credit to spend on proper coffees or premium pastries in the morning. Nice touch. Look forward to staying at another Moxy in the world.

I stayed here previously with no issues but will not again after my recent experience -- despite being told at the reception desk when I checked in that I was fully paid (as I had via Expedia), when I was packing up to leave I received a bill in my email for water bottles I did not use (why would I pay $14 for water when there's a Fairway down the block?). I informed the front desk at checkout and was assured it would be removed. This was a red flag, Suddenly, a week later I have five pending charges, varying in range from from $7 to $210. I tried contacting the office multiple times, no response. When I finally got a real person on the line, I was told this happened in error, I would be refunded and receive a final bill, the only thing I had to pay was a resort fee. Almost two months later, no bill has been received and only a partial, unexplained refund was issued. All of this hassle for a one night staycation. Looking at other reviews, I see this is a common occurrence with this property and I think it overshadowed all the other things I once enjoyed about staying here.

We had some trouble getting up to the rooftop bar….first time in NYC. Wish we could have had more help with this issue. Otherwise everything was excellent!!!
- 4/5
Clean hotel and helpful staff. Only complaint is the shower. In the mornings it takes forever to warm up and the handle is put on backwards so hot means cold and vice versa. There was some mold growing in the ceiling of the shower however. Overall the hotel is in an excellent location and I would stay again!

In addition, I noticed a maintenance issue with the wooden floor. When stepping on some floor panels, there seemed to be water leakage or moisture underneath. This made the room feel poorly maintained. The location is good, but in terms of comfort, privacy, and room quality, the experience did not meet my expectations.
- 2/5
Unfortunately, my stay at Moxy NYC Chelsea was not comfortable. The room was smaller than expected, and there was no refrigerator, which was inconvenient during my stay. Also, the bathroom design lacked privacy because it was almost transparent. In addition, I noticed a maintenance issue with the wooden floor. We liked the location of the property The rooms were nearly inhabitable, considering it was a 90° weekend in New York and the air conditioners were not working and the maintenance man that came up to fix them, it only worked for a couple hours after that and then I went back to be steaming hot so we were unable to sleep during the night

While I understand it’s NYC and space is limited the room was extremely lacking in storage. There was no closets in pegs on the wall.
- 3.5/5
The room was clean and comfortable in overall. The view from the room was fantastic. We liked the hotel location, which is perfect for those who visits NYC for the first time. The soundproofing in the room was awful. If you are given a room on the upper floors, keep in mind that you will hear all the noise from the bar until around 3 a.m., which is really unpleasant. Also, the rooftop bar serves drinks in plastic glasses, which looks quite cheap for this type of hotel. In addition to that, the staff were not particularly attentive. Overall, they were friendly, polite, and helpful when needed, but not very detail-oriented. Perhaps this is related to their internal system. When we checked in, they tried to charge us for the reservation a second time, even though we had already paid in advance through the booking app. That was quite strange, as they asked us to provide proof of payment. It was not a problem to do so, but since it was late at night, this information really should already have been reflected in their system.

Room was soooo tiny. No cold water. Only hot. Location is good but not great.
- 4/5
Our king rooms was quite small, but clean with wonderful views from huge windows. It’s an efficient room, but sadly nowhere to sit except on the bed. Check-in was very easy & the staff very kind to hold our bags since we arrived too early. The lobby is very small & can get congested with many guests arriving in the afternoon. Unfortunately, there are only 4 elevators & they’re confined to a tiny dark area to wait for them. The exquisite rooftop lounge boasts spectacular views from the 35th floor! A nice surprise was the hotel offers free coffee in the morning plus a $20 credit for breakfast pastries & snacks. The hotel also offers the option for a complimentary Hudson River cruise if you request a free reservation for the 75 minute trip past the Statue of Liberty. The cafe runs very smoothly & the friendly staff’s so helpful, especially Milena, who made our experience so pleasant. We enjoyed our entire stay & would stay here again only in a larger room.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful. Our room was clean and perfect for a weekend girl trip. The bars in the hotel were also a great bonus.
- 5/5
It was a great stay with such a kind staff!
- 0.5/5
Nothing at all. There was constant water coming through the whole floor during my overnight stay. I was told it was fixed, they did not fix. I was told we couldn’t be moved to another room. Me and my daughter almost fell several times due to the wet floor. We were beyond uncomfortable. I paid upfront which I usually do when traveling they claimed they could not give me money off. Instead they offered me a $20 credit at their cafe. The staff is also rude not accommodating

Room cleaning was made every other day unless if requested. I learned it on my second day, and not upon arrival, so after a day out I was desapointed to see my room not clean. I asked for my room to be cleaned which was done immediately. I also asked for my room to be cleaned the next day as instructed. Well, when I came back the next day to my room after a day of walking outside in the rain, my room hasn’t been made yet. I called and requested the room to be clean and explained what happened the day before. I waited 20 min., but no one came. I went to the lobby to complain, and was told that they were going to take care of it. I waited in the bar and came back an hour later after my arrival to see a set new set of dry towels, but the room still not cleaned! I called again and requested the room to be cleaned, which was done. Since I spent most of the day outside and it rained a lot, my jeans and socks were still wet. The staff was overall nice, but made it clear that I was bothering them and that I was to be patient. I thought it was insulting!
- 4/5
We had such a great stay here. The staff is fantastic, a very smooth and friendly experience all around. Housekeeping was great, and the location is fantastic. So glad we stayed here. Oh, and what a view we had from our room! Thank you so much.
- 5/5
This is really the only hotel I feel truly comfortable in - in NYC. Their rooftop bar never seems to be open when I’m there and the room service situation is kind of complicated… but otherwise I find the venue extremely comforting.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely helpful and the hotel was beautiful

SURPRISE FEES! The hotel is very nice, staff, rooms, bar all very nice and the location was very convenient. But the extra $80.34 Destination Fee for 2 nights was a complete surprise when Hotels.com advertises that ALL fees are included in the posted price. To make matters worse the reservation check-in person rattled off a confusing list of amenities that implied if you spent money at the hotel bar or cafe you decreased the destination fee, completely untrue, you just spent more money there, you were always going to pay the additional $40 a night fee.
- 5/5
The views from this building are incredible.

We absolutely loved our stay. The staff was wonderful, Hennessey especially.
- 5/5
It’s a nice hotel in a fine location but the rooms are terrible. Maid staff kept everything very clean. But there are no closets. A few hangers that you use to hang clothes on the wall. And the bathroom is a glass cage with no privacy so if you have to use the bathroom and are sharing with a friend, be prepared to hear everything. The sink and vanity are outside toilet/shower area in the bedroom. Slightly adjacent but still no privacy or room for two people to get ready at once. It’s bizarre enough that I wouldn’t stay there again even though staff are nice and it’s clean.
- 5/5
Hotel was in a good spot in the city. Staff was nice and helpful whenever we needed help. Room was clean comfortable. Would definitely recommend

The views were the best in the city, the hotel was clean and amazing, and the staff was very friendly.10/10 recommend!

It is a very compact space but nicely configured. Beds and linens are comfortable. Room was quiet and dark for sleeping.

There appear to be some issues with the showers leaking water onto the floor. I’d recommend checking your room as soon as you arrive. Honestly everything else was so good they made up for this one issue.

Absolutely loved my stay here. The hospitality from the staff was amazing! Good location, lots of things to do and the amenities were a plus. If you’re into nightlife, fleur room being upstairs was a plus as well.
- 4/5
Too many drunk white people acting a fool in the elevator. Staff was incredible though. Rooms aren’t very private..
- 3/5
The hotel is located in a good spot in chelsea but lobby where you check in is tiny and crowded. The rooms are also tiny. No closets. Bathroom sink is in the bedroom. No mini fridge. No coffee maker. Night club on rooftop bar so you can't really use it. I won't becstaying here again.
- 2/5
No place to put suitcase. No desk. No chair sliding door for toilet and shower difficult to open. Window had cold air coming in even though it was closed
- 4/5
Good location to stay in the city and love the $20 voucher for breakfasts or other food/drink use on property; rooms very clean and thoughtfully furnished - minimalist, so it is small, but pretty much anything you need; fair rates Parking rates exorbitant, but that's New York
- 5/5
Room service was excellent. I needed a hot water kettle and it arrived very quickly. They offer private car service arrangements to the airport within fair NYC rates. And the room was cleaned daily.
- 4/5
The room was perfect for one person and a quick stay. Very clean, well situated. A little noisy because I was on a low floor. Otherwise it was great. Wished I’d stayed there a week later based on the experience at the other hotel. This was beyond my budget that time. For more than a few days or with another person it would be too tight. Breakfast is the onsite coffee shop. I couldn’t eat there because it was just pastry and I can’t eat gluten.
- 5/5
The hotel was very eccentric in style which I enjoyed. It wasn’t like any other hotel I’ve stayed at. It was also very comfortable and cozy.

Location Rooms were relatively clean, however the vents were extremely dirty and the air in the room was dusty and stuffy. We could not sleep both nights
- 4/5
Very small rooms with very little room for storage. I wasn’t a fan of the non standard bathroom facilites just a glassed in toilet and separate shower but the shower water pressure was good. The bed was comfortable. I would give 5 stars to the staff everyone we encountered check in, Lobby bar and housekeeping staff were extemely friendly and helpful. Called twice fo additional supplies and they were delivered to our door in 5 minutes. The hotel is in a nice location outside the bustle of times square fifth ave but close enough for easy walking.
- 5/5
The staff was great and the hotel was very nice. You get a $20 room credit per day which is enough for a pastry and coffee in the morning for one person. Just make sure to budget that in. Overall great stay!
- 5/5
Great staff and very accommodating. Early check in is impossible; and weren’t able to get our room until about 5 pm however friendly staff, amazing views and small but clean and nice rooms. Lost a jacket; and it do not turn up in most a found which put a damper on things. But that’s my fault. Overall enjoyed our stay.
- 2/5
With the shower door securely closed, water escaped the shower area and flooded into the room. This affected the laminate floor tile and water continued to seep up through the floor tile as we moved around the room.
- 3/5

- 5/5
It had a cool vibe!
- 3/5
The room and the hotel were typical NYC mid level hotel cleanliness. Not poor, not excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had an issue with the heating in the room, the fan was working, but was just blowing the room temperature air. I asked the front desk to fix when I left for the day, and when I returned later in the evening it hadn’t been fixed. I had to ask them again and wait for it to be fixed. The bathtub I requested was big, and I was grateful, but there was something up with the controls in switching back n forth from shower to tub. The electric curtains didn’t work either.

- 3/5
The room is super small, the toilet and shower builds INTO room and sink in the room as well. Nowhere to put suitcase and cloth. The only thing is good is the view, but to pay that much just for the view- terrible
- 5/5
Amazing central location in the city! Major subways right around the corner to get you uptown or downtown in a straight shot. Most importantly I felt safe in this hotel and it was very clean! The room itself was clean along with the public areas. Room was smaller than expected.
- 4.5/5
Location and checking in was pretty good and the room was as advertised Something minor they didn’t leave wash clothes for the shower other than that everything was great
- 5/5
The room and staff were amazing!
- 3/5
The lobby and lifts were very scruffy. The door to the shower in my room did not fit properly so water leaked onto the bedroom floor. The top floor bar was closed on the Friday night which was disappointing given it’s only open 2 nights. The room was bright a good standard of cleanliness but that’s really the only good thing to say. The hotel needs a refurb and higher level of staffing. Disappointed to be honest.

Have stayed here 3/4 times. Great location and view of empire state if you are in that side of the building and high enough. Room is fairly basic but all you need for a trip. Just enough space to have cabin suitcase x 2 open on the floor - there is no where to hang or store clothes. Only two towels provided - asked for more but they never came. Lifts can be slow.
- 4/5
Room was clean, a little tight obviously but staff was nice. Lounging areas were clean and aesthetically appealing to sit around, chat or have a drink with friends. Looking forward to giving them another try.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Room view and staff was really nice.
- 2/5
On arrival our Room had been given to another guest. We were downgraded from the View side of the building to the street side. And the street traffic was loud and constant. I paid a higher rate for a King room on the higher levels especially for our Valentines weekend. And the downgraded room ended up being quite a disappointment with very little compensation offered. We would not book this hotel again after our experience.
- 4/5
Was clean
- 5/5
This is a great location and it’s very hip for the younger crowd. We enjoyed the stay and would differently return. They also have game nights in the bar down stairs and two additional bars that I would recommend!
- 1/5
Beware of hidden hotel junk fees! I missed this in the fine print when booking (my fault) but this hotel charges $55 additional fees per day, $35 for a “resort fee” and another $20 per day for city taxes. It’s not worth it all in my opinion. They do give guests $20 in credits to use but it’s still not worth it. There were also some charges I noticed on my account as someone else also mentioned issues with that after their stay. Be sure to check to ensure they drop off. The room was very small and had ventilation issues. The bathroom has a sliding door that never closed all the way and we could hear guests in the hallway in the middle of the night. For the price of this hotel, I was very disappointed in the quality. The staff also couldn’t answer basic questions we had about all the fees popping up on our account and we had to follow up several times about getting the cruise tickets included with our stay. Overall, this hotel is a rip off. I won’t be staying here again.
- 5/5
Amazing location , very friendly staff , very beautiful room and views just wish it had room service .
- 5/5
The hotel was well appointed and the staff were very welcoming. The clean rooms with large windows made for a great city stay. The location was extremely convenient and for that reason alone I would highly recommend staying here. The beds were very comfortable and while the rooms are on the smaller side it was perfectly fine for an extended weekend trip.

- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Beautiful place and rooms were small but cool design and very clean!! Loved it!!
- 3/5
Phone wasn’t working, had to call from my cell phone to request things. Called for towels three separate times and took two hours for the towels to finally come. Besides that beautiful views from the room.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean room.
- 5/5
Room was clean and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Staff members were great, room clean.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and inform of all amenities. Lobby smelled like a bath & body works which I loved. It was my birthday and the host gave my friends and I 5 complementary cutwaters. Rooms were spotless and view was amazing. I will be back again!
- 5/5
Moxy Chelsea is an incredible hotel! We stayed for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary, the room was spotless, smelt fresh and clean, and the view… breathtaking! We will 100% be back, amazing customer service as well!
- 5/5
Very convenient location, staff was very friendly, clean. Recommended my friend and we enjoyed our stay. Definitely consider staying at this hotel for our next trip to NY.
- 5/5
Great location! Nice hotel!
- 5/5
Amazing staff and service . Definitely would be back for future stays .
- 5/5
Love this hotel
- 5/5
Very clean. Love the bartender on the second floor she was very sweet.
- 5/5
Gorgeous rooms, spectacular view, excellent staff, & perfect location! We obviously had a wonderful time with our stay at Moxy.
- 5/5
Courteous staff, clean hotel, new
- 5/5
Was good
- 5/5
Great staff and clean room
- 3/5
Room was leaking water all over the entired room from under the floor due to the shower drain. Note the vinyl floor panels were all warped and coming up. Instead of moving rooms they just gave me a bunch of towels to put down on the floor...which isnt really sustainable when youre staying for 4 nights. The hotel in general seemed a bit worn down and in need of a renovation or at least some proper maintenance work. Ive stayed at other Moxy hotels in both nyc and other parts of the world, they're usually reliably decent. This one is a bit beat up. That being said the staff and service were both wonderful.
- 5/5
Loved it! Great view!
- 5/5
We did not receive room cleaning while there. That was disappointing. Breakfast/coffee was fine but super crowded. Staff is great.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and great amenities.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was phenomenal. I will be booking my next stay at this property. My kids loved the bunk beds.
- 5/5
The room was great and staff very friendly. Roof top bar is awesome
- 5/5
Great rooms . Check in staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Very cozy room
- 3/5
Unfortunately, our stay was impacted by a couple of issues: toilet problems, a cold room with a non-functioning heater, damaged flooring, and insufficient towels for all guests. We were also disappointed that the bars and restaurants were closed during our stay.
- 2/5
Will never return
- 5/5
The property was well located and the room was spotless . Great bar and rooftop área .
- 5/5
There’s a small charge at the hotel, maybe a tourist fee? Something like that, but we got part of it back as a credit. We used it for free coffee and pastries in the attached cafe each day. Location was excellent, just a short walk to several subway lines I would stay here again next time I’m in manhattan
- 5/5
The staff was accommodating and friendly.
- 5/5
More breakfast options
- 2/5
Cons: The floor near the shower and toilet had water seeping underneath the flooring, so our feet were getting wet when we were stepping on that area. Floor also had some dust, which we would not have minded too much if there were slippers provided. Slippers were not available when we requested them. Also, cold air came out of the heater and the front desk did not pick up our two calls when we wanted to ask for an extra duvet because of the temperature (granted, it was just past midnight when we called, but we ended up falling asleep near shivering). No basic amenities like body lotion or toothbrush were provided in the room until we had to request them separately. Hairdryer had its nozzle missing. Pros: Concierge staff was very friendly whenever we interacted with them. Convenient location. Third party taxi shuttle to JFK was provided at a rate slightly lower than Uber or Lyft, so that was great.
- 2/5
Terrible value for money. Room was cramped and bathroom was basically in the bedroom. At $700/night (and we had 2 rooms) it was outrageous. Would never stay at a moxy again.
- 1/5
The charge me more in my card and never give me my money back it’s terrible
- 5/5
Exceptionally clean room and public areas. Great location. Easy access to subway entrances.
- 3/5
Very small. Bed hard. Staff and neighborhood great
- 1/5
The bathroom door kept getting stuck and smashed my thumb hard. Possibly broke it.
- 4/5
The room was tiny, one of the lights wasn’t working but what really disappointed me was that hotel was meant to give us $20 on food or beverage but they never did. Overall not the best experience. Won’t probably chose it again in the future
- 4/5
The room had several issues, however. The bathroom door didn’t slide well at all and was extremely loud when sliding open and closed. We had to force it open/closed every time we used the bathroom bc it would get stuck. The shower door also didn’t close fully so there was a lot of water leaking onto the bathroom floor. The humidity fan doesn’t work well so there was always condensation and water pooled around the windows. The hotel is still great and the location is very convenient. But some aspects were clearly not designed well - such as the bathroom door, shower door, and hvac system. But overall definitely a nice place to stay in NYC.
- 5/5
Gelfing was great
- 5/5
We stayed at the Moxy in Chelsea for my daughter's 23rd birthday! It was absolutely stunning! We told Chariece that it was our dream since my daughter was a little girl and she absolutely took care of us and gave us the most gorgeous view! She was so kind and attentive, we just loved her personality and professionalism! Will definitely be back. The view from our room was the highlight of our visit to NYC! Loved! loved! Loved it!
- 5/5
The one who checked us in was very nice, we requested a fridge and it came very fast. Fantastic stay overall. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Staff are awesome. All helpful and friendly and so good with young guests. Such a great vibe. We stay often. The location is so well placed for so many iconic NY sights. Rooms are well designed for maximum space and very trendy. We love the Moxy.
- 5/5
All was excellent!
- 5/5
Overall it was nice and cozy. I liked it had no issue.
- 1/5
This place is extremely small. The view is beautiful, but honestly it’s very oriented toward young people. In addition to the $200 deposit I left, they charged $160 from it, even though we left everything clean and were basically only there to sleep.
- 4/5
I love the room, the lobby staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the location is great. I wish the room had a refrigerator or an ice-bucket or something. That was the only thing I really missed.
- 4/5
Buena ubicación, buena vista, las habitaciones son pequeñas, pero excelente servicio.
- 5/5
Great location, maximizes space in the room. Rooftop bar is stunning and vibey.
- 5/5
Spotless, great location walkable to Moynihan train hall, hip vibes. Small room, but very comfortable and efficiently designed.
- 5/5
The room is super clean. the water pressure is great. The 6th floor is quiet from the street. The room has good space for a New York City hotel. I had a two double bed room and it was perfect for my mom and I to sleep comfortably in our own beds. Perfect room for New York City at a great price!
- 3/5
Room was small, even by nyc standards. Elevators were very dark and hard to read floor numbers. BUT the worst part is HIDDEN "resort fees" nobody warns you about until you check out. BE CAREFUL!
- 3/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The location was okay, although not an easy pick-up or drop-off for an Uber. The room was small, but as expected, with comfortable amenities. The shower and toilet are in their own little compartments and the sink was in the main room, so forget any privacy. Room was clean, hotel was clean and suitable. It was average - fit our trip just well, but not a "must-return" for our next trip. We have a few hotels we've been back to multiple times, this won't be one of them.
- 1/5
Staff cold
- 2/5
Bathroom and shower just sliding screens. No privacy at all Water in room. Nothing indicated that they are 7.00 a piece until you check out. Sneaky Bed comfortable. Hotel clean But not for me again for price
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and accommodating. Room views were gorgeous, booking was very easy and would stay there again!
- 5/5
It was a great experience. Only problem we had was the television did not work. Each morning we would have to call to get it fixed and they would fix it but by the next day, it would not work again.
- 2/5
The staff are outstanding and very accommodating, so the review is no reflection of their support. Moxy notified us the day before that the room is small and lacks a dresser (only 2 drawers under bed), only providing pegs/hooks with some that span across the TV. We requested an Empire State view, which we received, but found out that the rooftop bar plays loud music until 3am which was clearly and loudly heard in our room. No prior mention of this was given by the hotel. We were charged a destination fee that included use of enhanced Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was inconsistent and even more so when we enabled the enhancement (which only consisted of logging your name and room #. The destination fee allowed for a daily $20 drink offset along with tickets to a weekly performance. There was only one performance we could have gone to but rarely are people traveling to NYC to enjoy hotel entertainment, so the destination fee is a blatant price gouge. No hand towels are provided, only bath towels and wash cloths. Again, the staff were great and very accommodating, but other than the Moxy having a good location and good views, would not recommend.
- 5/5
We would have liked a bath tub but otherwise tje hotel was great The staff did eveyto make our stay perfect The care is great for wine pizza and morning coffees Location is great Pillows could be softer and i prefer a weightier comforter Happy holidays
- 5/5
We had a great day at the hotel. The room is clean and comfortable. The shower was fabulous! The staff was amazing. Would highly recommend it for a stay in New York City.
- 5/5
beautiful
- 5/5
Clean room overall. Staff was very welcoming and nice. Housekeeping did a great job. Comfy bed. Outstanding view. Only flaw was the bathroom door being a little difficult to open. Needed a bit of a push. But did not ruin any of the experience at all. The room is a bit small but we didn't spend too much time in the room other than sleeping and getting ready. Would definitely recommend and book another stay if I were to visit New York again.
- 5/5
They have a rooftop bar, which was fun with a great vibe to it.
- 5/5
friendly staff and easy and quick to check-in
- 5/5
Everything was close by, staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Very clean. Beautiful city views. In a safe location, walkable to many other areas. Cute rooftop bar. I’m very happy with my stay here.
- 2/5
They charge for everything extra after check out! even for bottled water that they supply in the room. They give you voucher for food and they have you use it and charge your credit for it on the check out! Nice hotel scam management
- 5/5
Amazing place
- 5/5
Great stay for the weekend! Will definitely book here again
- 5/5
The view from the room is worth it alone. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Would stay here again!
- 3/5
Room phone didn’t work. Repair person couldn’t fix Two towels for two people. Not enough No refrigerator, no coffee, no iron or board. The one delivered was tiny. No closet. Hangers fell apart. No drawers to unpack. No luggage rack. No coming back. Too many other choices in Herald Sq area
- 5/5
Perfect stay!
- 5/5
Everything clean. Great vibe and friendly staff. Elevators a bit busy and they need a bit more lighting so u can see the buttons !!
- 5/5
Great customer service!!!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, amazing views, and wonderful area. Throughly enjoyed my stay!
- 5/5
Had the croissants and pumpkin bread. Both were fresh. Enjoyed with a morning coffee. It was nice.
- 4/5
Views were amazing and everything in the room except that it didn’t have a mini fridge or an ice machine or else it would have topped to five stars
- 5/5
And the area was quiet which was nice after a long day of walking / traveling .. Pretty close to everything as well
- 5/5
Great rooms with spectacular views. Design/ vibes are all amazing. Also there is a $20.00 coffee/bar credit per day, which is amazing too as the coffee bar below is very good
- 5/5
Excellent front desk service, polite staff all around. Clean beautiful rooms!
- 3/5
When I booked it was a $351 price and by the time all the fees and taxes put an additional $100+ cost - very misleading.
- 5/5
Loved everything about this hotel. Staff was Fabulous. The only thing that was annoying was the elevators were very slow. Other than that it was an Awesome place to stay.
- 5/5
I had an amazing stay. Everything was beautiful and clean.
- 5/5
Amazing staff. Amazing time. Made my daughters birthday very special!
- 4/5
Great location and very clean. Unfortunately even at 8th floor there was a lot of street noise. Only one bar of soap was provided. Charges $7 daily for water, without warning.
- 1/5
As a returning guest, I was very disappointed by the decline in quality at Moxy Chelsea. Elevators were extremely slow, rooftop bar noise lasted until 3 AM, and housekeeping was missed twice during my 5-night stay. Receptionist at the cafe was unprofessional. And my friends’ room had leaks and cleaning issues. This stay did not reflect the standards I previously experienced or expect from a Marriott property.
- 5/5
Ok
- 3/5
Was okay - staff was very good. Probably would try different place next time
- 5/5
Great hotel. Excellent location and friendly staff.
- 3/5
Generally a nice hotel.
- 5/5
In the flower district, and close to so many sites. The staff was friendly and efficient. They gave me a room with a beautiful view on the 33rd floor! I’ll stay at the Moxxy again!
- 5/5
For NYC, the room was a decent size for 2 to move about in. The design in our room (king bed) utilized space well by having hooks for clothing instead
- 5/5
Moxy has an excellent vibe, extremely helpful and courteous staff and fun dining options. The rooms are cozy but relaxing.
- 5/5
Love the property. The parking situation wasn’t the best, but it’s NYC
- 4/5
I wish there was a small fridge. But everything was fantastic
- 5/5
Absolutely fantastic! My experience was nothing short of amazing! The staff was incredibly prompt and professional, always there to help whenever I needed it. And let me tell you about the room—the views were absolutely breathtaking! I can't recommend this place enough—100% must-visit!
- 5/5
Loved the vibe of the Moxy. Great location for public transportation. Staff was absolutely amazing!
- 3/5
Room
- 4/5
Trendy, cool vibe, clean, small rooms, great view, no closet, minimalist decor but tasteful.
- 4/5
Stayed for 6 nights. The first 3 nights the tv didn’t work and service needs to be called each night to get it to work. They eventually gave us a new, upgraded room with a great view of the Empire State Building at no additional charge. And also waived the daily “destination fee” for 2 of the days. Excellent customer service and very accommodating. Rooms are quiet. Bed is comfortable. Cleaning is daily. Location is great.
- 5/5
Great location with easy access to a range of metro lines to head uptown to Museum Mile. Front of house team were exceptional and the bar/cafe was a huge highlight in the mornings
- 3/5
Shower was leaking into my room
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay at Moxy NYC Chelsea during our girls’ trip to New York. The hotel was very clean, the location was excellent, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was a highlight, offering stunning views of the Empire State Building. Highly recommend for both convenience and atmosphere.
- 5/5
First time staying in New York and Moxy was AMAZING!
- 5/5
I loved it
- 5/5
Malaurie and Manny were absolutely amazing during my stay. They went above and beyond to help me coordinate my reservation between Experian and Bookings.com, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Their professionalism, patience, and genuine care really stood out. The level of guest service and support they provided cannot be captured fully in just a few words—there truly isn’t enough space to describe how outstanding they were. Thanks to them, my stay at the Moxy was not only convenient and enjoyable, but also memorable. Highly recommended!
- 3/5
NO chair, no closet, no iron or ironing board, no access for guests to the rooftop bar(get in line outside), sink in room,no light over the floor numbers in elevator. Most expensive room we've stayed in. ,and the worst. Definitely not a choice for older guests.
- 5/5
There may be periodic long lines to the elevators.
- 5/5
I didn’t like that I paid for the view of the Empire State Building and did not get it
- 5/5
Loved the staff and how clean it was.
- 4/5
Like any other accommodation in NYC - rooms are small but are designed well and are functional (could use a bit more storage space)
- 5/5
Perfect location, love the roof bar, showers are 11/10!
- 5/5
Wonderful location and stay
- 5/5
Great location. Hotel was wonderful. The bars and food were great. Coffee shop was delicious. Only wish the bars served food past 11 PM.
- 2/5
Really small rooms poor amenities
- 4/5
Pass
- 5/5
The view from our room was aweome. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.
- 4/5
One thing that sucked was the ac would not go lower than 69. Not cool in the summer
- 5/5
Great, fun common space. Rooms small but very practically designed. Except for only spot to sit in room was the bed. Would go back for sure.
- 4/5
Great location
- 1/5
Water leak and Ac broken
- 5/5
This is a great option for solo travel or couples. I had such a great time here as a solo woman traveler. There’s always something to do or see nearby in this neighborhood. Can’t wait to stay here again.
- 5/5
Loved how everything was within walking distance
- 4/5
I wish the roof top bar was open during the day, otherwise great stay
- 5/5
We’ve been staying at the Moxy for years and it’s never disappointed. It’s clean, the check in process is quick, the staff is friendly and they offer valet parking which is great being in NYC. We will continue to stay at the Moxy for years to come.
- 5/5
The Moxy Chelsea is fantastic!
- 4/5
Aside from that, the location was excellent, the beds were comfy, and the staff were very friendly. We didn’t try the food at the hotel itself, but the adjacent bakery served good pastries, cakes, and coffee. You even get a daily allowance towards the bill there from the Moxy, which was a nice touch.
- 3/5
Some staff were quite nice and helpful.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay and Moxy enabled me to do my shopping, sleeping, and eating with no worries. Wonderful staff and amenities.
- 5/5
The staff was awesome in accommodating some issues I had. I will definitely be visiting them again.
- 5/5
Very nice staff at front desk .. had free Vallerie parking
- 5/5
Everything fine
- 2/5
Unexpected bill for “destination fee” tried to call multiple times to understand the charge as it wasn’t explained to us whatsoever.
- 5/5
The hotel was well-staffed, clean, and centrally located for local attractions. The bars were beautiful spaces, and the rooms, while compact, were fully functional and pleasing.
- 5/5
We found this wonderful property at a reasonable price for downtown Manhattan. Convenient to Penn Station and the subways. Great staff and really nice room. Very accommodating with everything. Lots of wonderful local restaurants within blocks. Rooftop lounge/view incredible. Easy breakfast options in hotel.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, with great location and views!
- 4/5
This hotel was nice but a bit quirky. It seemed to try a little to hard to be cool - the industrial style bathroom, the loud music in the elevator, and the upstairs club. The rooms were small and lacking in some ammenities like a coffee pot and iron (going downstairs to the back of the cafe to get bitter, lukewarm coffee was not ideal). They said that there was a $20 per day credit for the cafe or bar but I was charged for my latte after I checked out. My sister's room was strange with the sink right inside the door when you walked in. It wasn't a bad experience, but not as relaxing as the other hotel I stayed at earlier in the week (Washington Square Hotel). I don't think that I'd stay at the Moxy again.
- 3/5
Pro is the location it’s super convenient and close to everything. Cons is the room is tiny without any closets or room to put your suitcase. Half of the bathroom is in the room. Tiny lobby
- 5/5
Everything was perfect here and amazing staff I will absolutely stay here again💛
- 4/5
I loved the property and the convenience of the area, but I didn’t appreciate not being told about the free daily perks. I caught on myself toward the end but it would’ve been nice to know prior to my last day there!
- 5/5
The best part of staying at the Moxy is the lovely staff. Helpful, friendly and overall nice human beings.
- 5/5
Great hotel close to everything. Staff was super friendly and the room was modern and clean. We will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, great location close to Subway
- 5/5
Excellent staff, my 5th time and always want to come back. Room is not huge but it meets my needs
- 2/5
No fridge, safe didn’t work, super sketchy area, no balcony. AC barely worked. Save your money and go elsewhere
- 5/5
Getting a 2-bed room in NYC is tough. The Moxy was perfect in size & amenities. I also loved the Chelsea location. It provides great access to many of the sights & shows & shopping destinations I crave.
- 5/5
Staff was very kind and accommodating! Room was small, yet very clean, modern, and everything you need! Was also very impressed with the fitness center! Definitely will be back!
- 5/5
Great spot
- 5/5
Great location and perfect for a weekend getaway!
- 5/5
This property sits in the middle of the Flower District and is central to a lot of amenities in, and around the Chelsea area. Literally loves the stay here.
- 5/5
Loved everything about it! Location was great for access to everything we wanted to see in Manhattan. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Walking outside first thing in the morning-into the flowers was the best start of the day!
- 2/5
The cost of it is too expensive and unconditioned I didn't like it. Nothing in the rooms and unpleasant to be in
- 4/5
Overall positive but the
- 4/5
Smallest room ever and i have done NYC. For 30 years and Paris!!!
- 5/5
ROOM: comfy bed! I kind of want to know what mattresses they have. No mini fridge but you can request one. My biggest complaint with hotels in general nowadays is that mini fridges now seem to be treated as a "luxury" rather than a given. BATHROOM: I had no problem with water leaking out of the shower like I've read elsewhere so either it's been rectified or other guests shower intensely (??). Oddly, I liked that all 3 bathroom things (sink, shower, toilet) are separated. If there are 2 of you to the room you can do all things without being on top of each other. FOOD: I was booked and busy and unable to visit the rooftop bar; The Fleur Room, but it looks beautiful. Cafe next door was super cute and perfect for a quick breakfast, I just wish they offered plain drip coffee. There are definitely up charges on items (the $2.75 I buy at home was $7) but you're paying for convenience. I visit NYC often so I know what to expect and this is a hotel I would happily return to.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our time here. Great views and nice property!
- 5/5
Great location, easy check in.
- 4/5
Great views, central location.
- 2/5
They had shut the 2nd floor and the cafe for private events in the mornings, so the meetings I had planned with clients coming to visit I me, had to be done somewhere else without notice as they had not advised on these areas being closed in advance.
- 5/5
Love the Moxy Hotels. I travel with my son so I prefer the East Village location. Better for “kids”. He wasn’t old enough to get into this locations main attraction, the rooftop bar. The Village location has games for him to play while I enjoy a cocktail after a day of NYC adventures. Other than that, zero complaints. That’s not even a complaint, just more of a preference. Love the location of this one!!! Stay at the Moxy!!
- 4/5
The Moxy Chelsea is a good value. We missed having a small refrigerator and small microwave.
- 5/5
Amazing stay
- 5/5
Very small rooms no closets no drawers no chairs
- 5/5
The staff was amazing (professional, kind, and attentive) great location in the middle of the many attractions, great amenities, clean rooms, help schedule transportation to airport, this was a wonderful experience! Would definitely recommend and rebook ❤️
- 5/5
It was a beautiful stay for a romantic getaway! Everything close by
- 4/5
Great location!
- 5/5
Great place
- 4/5
Well run, well organized, pleasant and efficient staff. Pleasantly surprised to have the room serviced every day. The elevators are a struggle: tall building, lots of guests, one elevator is always out of service. The button panels (in the lobby and in the elevators) need back-lighting. Everyone had difficulty finding floor numbers in the low light.
- 4/5
The hotel is very well located. The industrial-chic decor concept is quite cool and distinctive. The staff is friendly enough (though not overly so). Now, at Café D’Avignon, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Angel and Conny made us feel truly welcomed and well taken care of.
- 4/5
The staff in the lobby was great! Very nice and personable. The music was loud in the lobby, even louder in the elevator, and just when you thought you escaped it and got into your room, your tv is playing the music when you first enter after checking in. The hotel was out of washcloths the first 3 days I stayed, so I had to use a hand towel. The shower that is about a foot away from the bed, the enclosure wasn’t sealed properly anymore and leaked slowly onto the floor and made is squishy and spongy soft. I said something but it was too late for them to do anything and couldn’t look at it until I was out of the room which isn’t my favorite with all my personal belongings in the room. They wouldn’t just transfer me to a new room, which would have been okay but I didn’t want to lose my amazing view. That was the best!
- 4/5
We had a great experience at the Moxy in Chelsea! Great location and easy to walk to the train. This was our second time staying here, would recommend to a friend!
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 2/5
Hated that the shower was in the bedroom and not in a separate area where you could undress and have privacy. Curtain didn’t close all the way round the window so in the morning (after getting to the hotel really late and having limited sleep) my husband had a ray of light coming across his face. No mini fridge and no dressing gowns. The lifts took forever to come………so all in all…. Not the greatest of stays tbh!
- 4/5
Staff is great. Elevators are slow, loud and dark. Rooms are very small.
- 4/5
Rooms are small and they never awarded us our bonvoy points but hotel was clean and in a good location. Make sure to ask about morning coffee and daily drink credits.
- 3/5
Location, views, nice pubs were great. Felt safe too. What was a real surprise was how small the room was, no closet, and the bathroom was part of the sleeping area. Wonder what the interiors architect was thinking. Also the lighting contols were wonky.
- 3/5
When someone came, they tried some trouble shooting and it worked for about 30 seconds after they left then it went blank again. I was not asked if I wanted to move rooms with a working television and that was kind of disheartening. And it took a very long time for someone to come when I did call. I had to even cancel the call a couple of times because it was taking so long. I hope they resolve the tv issue going forward or at least make sure they staff is well versed in how to troubleshoot.
- 5/5
Solid value for money (at current Manhattan prices), if sometimes quirky (wall hooks rather than a closet),
- 2/5
Should be clear that’s it’s a micro hotel! The room size is ridiculously small. Will never stay in a moxy again! Rooms lack the bare minimum of comfort features- no closet, no drawers, no refrigerator, no drinking glasses. The toilet is in a cloudy glass box and the smallest sounds can be heard across the room. No place for 2 guests to share. And the staff has this attitude that they are so cool and edgy and the guests are lucky they can stay there. Get real! And worst of all is that they charge the same as hotels with decent room sizes and amenities.
- 5/5
Would stay again
- 5/5
Great staff and good area
- 5/5
Cute, clean, small but great location and views. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
There was a lot to do around and on the property. Very nice hotel and staff. Would stay again .
