Reviews
The hotel has a great location and modern design, but guests frequently complain about noise from the nightclub and issues with room cleanliness. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, but some guests have had negative experiences with the front desk.

Good location, clean room, rooms were small. Staff very accommodating.

Stayed for one night to celebrate my birthday at a nearby restaurant. Great rooms, super friendly staff (except the pool waitress), front desk gave my wife and I drink tickets and upgraded our room. Overall great experience and would stay again.
- 5/5
Staff was very customer oriented. My room was not quite ready. The manager assisted the person in finding a room that was ready and could be assigned to me.

Bellman was very helpful Very disappointed in my stay. I expected much better for the price. - The shower screams a high pitched sound when i ran the hot water, so for my entire showers - You’d expect with how much i’m paying, for doordash orders to come to my door and not require me to go down to the lobby - Request service button in the room did nothing - The conditioner and body wash bottle heads were plainly broken, so you couldn’t pump either. Had to order more from the store since the service button didn’t work

From the reviews on Hotels.com this hotel was rated a 8.0. The hotel was terrible, the TV did not work and the staff were terrible. It was very unsanitary, it smelled and the beds had hair in them. I wouldn’t let my dog stay there. It was very disgusting and I am very disappointed.
- 5/5
First time staying at Dream and I enjoyed it and would recommend. Staff was helpful at check in and the hotel has a cool hip vibe. Room was a good size, AC was flowing cold upon entering and the pool view was nice. Service and food at pool restaurant also were great.
- 3/5
The hotel it’s great for the night life. You have many options around. Loved the pool concept and the roof top is always a plus. They messed up my reservation tho, I booked for a pool view either balcony, when I arrived they said they were sold out on those. They tried making it up with some free drinks, but definitely ruined our experience.

The personnel were very professional and very helpful. I stayed at the Dream Hotel on 16th St. a number of times in the past. Unfortunately, this time the Dream turned out to be a nightmare. Unfortunately, there was very little follow-through and my room wasn’t cleaned for three of the four days in my stay. Housekeeping did not follow up on my request with the front desk to remake my bed, clean up the room and bring new towels. I was very disappointed with the follow-through.

Great place to stay for party.

We had high expectations for our stay at this property, and unfortunately we were let down. While the lobby area has been maintained nicely, the room itself was weathered and needs addressing. The feature wall with holes appears to look nice, but if you look closely you will see layers of dust that have accumulated over the years. Near the window there were tiny bugs inside the room. The bathroom vanity was chipped and scratched and the sink drain was clogged. The glass walls of the bathroom will wake the others in the room for a mid-night bathroom break. Overall this property prioritizes fashion over function and was not well thought out.

Property was clean and comfortable. I don’t recommend the breakfast package as it is just the cafe. Also it would have been helpful if the room had a full mirror and also a shelf in washroom for cosmetics. Overall staff was very helpful, hotel was clean and in great west end location.

We had a fantastic experience! I have stayed in Chelsea and Meatpacking for years and never stated this and now I will
- 5/5
loved the shower

Nasty smell in lobby by elevators

Location. Requested a higher floor room but got a room next to the swimming role with little natural light. The room needs repairs and upgrades (eg. Shower)
- 5/5
Niko and Kai at front door and desk were so wonderful and the bed was comfortable and hotel was cool. the door to our room did not shut all the way without much effort and i did not like that as I had to be very intentional with closing it all the way. i'd stay here again though.

Solid hotel, great location, wish our bronze king room had a walk in shower.

Great stay! Convenient location and clean.
- 5/5
The rooms are clean but super tiny. If you're there to just wash up sleep and go then this is good.
- 5/5
Very nice room with a nice view of NYC. Room was clean and in good condition. Staff were very nice
- 5/5
Our stay was amazing! The staff was friendly and the hotel was beautiful with so many photo ops! The circular windows made us feel like we were on a cruise ship in NYC! This was my second time and will definitely return!

Once I ask for the next to the pool the should have to us that the pool wasn’t open on line they said I would have access that was the only reason why we stayed there if we know we would have picked a do hotel then I have to wait a whole hour for my room when I was supposed to check in at 3pm and I had to keep asking tell the when to see why was taking long
- 4/5
Needs lots of renovation

The property is centrally located in the downtown. Unfortunately, my experience was completely ruined by the hotel's billing practices. During my stay from March 15 to March 20, 2026, I was hit with over $320 in completely fabricated minibar charges. I did not consume a single item from the room's minibar, yet my final bill included daily automated charges for things like Skittles , potato chips , $80 bottles of Champagne , and espresso martinis. It seems their automated sensor system is heavily flawed, or there is a serious lack of oversight by the housekeeping staff. I am currently escalating this issue to get my money refunded for these fraudulent charges. While I wait for management to make this right, I strongly advise any future guests to scrutinize your folio line by line before checking out. Do not trust the automated billing at this hotel!

PLEASE ATTENTION!!! Do not stay at this hotel! They issue fraudulent automated invoices during the online check-out process. I intend to file a lawsuit to obtain a refund to my credit card if that pending situation is not completely resolved. I have documented all the evidence, including historical of emails and the electronic bills issued by the hotel. They generated fraudulent e-bills charging for "early check-in" across all three days of my stay—how does that even make sense?!—in addition to charging for non-existent minibar expenses. They subsequently admitted that there was, in fact, an error in the issuance of my final bill, and the hotel still owes me a refund of $372.47 to cover these "billing errors." Front desk/and Customer Service teams continue to stall on resolving the refund with numerous back-and-forths of erroneous invoice issuance messages.

Loved the location. The staff was incredibly nice when I checked in, definitely going above and beyond to help me get things sorted (had issues with the card I was using). The place was always clean. Would recommend staying here.

Too noisy during the night.

Absolutely horrible.
- 1/5
I’ve stayed in New York City at least 150 times this was the worst experience I’ve ever had and I would recommend to anyone thinking about booking a room in this hotel to look elsewhere. The staff lady was very rude. The room was dirty and had cockroaches in it the water take 5 minutes to become warm enough to take a shower. And the noise was unbearable from the outside especially Friday night. They have a club right next to it and until four in the morning the whole room was moving. I would never ever ever stay there again ever.
- 4/5
Great location and nice design. The amenities are great including a bar downstairs. The patio was closed due to the season The hot water shut off one of the nights we were there.

Superb
- 3/5
Room was small and there was no fridge to use for my kids milk, or anything else, because it was filled with things I had to purchase.
- 4/5
Design. Location. Staff The lighting controls in the room were wacked to operate. Insane! Drapes didn’t cover full window. So light penetration. Shower curtain didn’t cover full shower stall. Why? That’s basic. Not at all enough counter or shelf space in bathroom for 2 people to have toiletries. You had to place on the floor or the desk in the bed area. Also inadequate towel or hooks or rods to hang towels for 2 people. The Handicap bars should not be the answer to use as towel bars. Hyatt should know better.
- 3/5
Staff was courteous, building was maintained and room was nice. Not a good hotel to sleep at if you are a sensitive sleeper. The room had ear plugs and a white noise machine and we wondered why. There is a night club above and night club next door to the hotel. the taxis were outside from midnight to 4am trying to solicit bar goers for rides causing massive traffic problems and people were blaring their horns and screaming. Not sure if this is just a common NYC thing or if this is just a loud hotel and area.
- 3/5
Location. Nice decor. Rooms are tiny. Nowhere to put anything. You can hang two items of clothes. And then one drawer each. Too small.
- 4.5/5
The bed was sooooo comfortable…although the room I reserved wasn’t ready I was upgraded to a bigger room for which I was grateful. The only complaint I have there was no fridge to put my food in, but other than that it was amazing. Stuff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. No fridge to store food or drinks
- 1/5
No hot water. Room has no fridge. I booked a balcony looking over the pool. I get there and it took 15 minutes to check in because they said there's no more balcony rooms. Seriously on Valentine's Day you tell me you don't have the room I booked.. I'll never go here again and will give bad reviews everywhere unless I get compensation for my awful stay.
- 2/5
When booking there was no disclaimer about the amount of noise coming from the nightclub. We wear giving hard ear plugs to deal with it. Stayed 3 nights for work and didn’t sleep much. Cute if you’re there to party not for a business trip .
- 5/5
Best part of the hotel stay was the location. Located in the trendiest part of the city. Great vibes and energy.
- 3/5
Although I am an Expedia VIP member and entitled to either cocktail vouchers or a bottle of wine in the room, none were provided. The following morning, I raised the issue with the front desk and after some pushing was given vouchers for coffee drinks. Debatable whether I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location
- 3.5/5
Easy quick check inn staff was helpful. Love the bathroom The opening doors are beautiful for a restaurant. Not for trying to get luggage through with them. Especially when there’s no bellman.
- 4/5
Location. Dance club on the trip floor made it difficult to sleep if above the 8th floor.
- 4/5
Hotel is a great location, just around the corner from Chelsea Market. Very boutiquey, so if you’re into that you’ll like the rooms, very swanky looking and compact! Biggest negative is the night club in the building. We were on the 7th floor and could hear the club music decently well, but turning the fan on solved that.
- 5/5
Rooms were spotless and smelled great. Huge rooms - good location
- 4/5
Loved the ambiance and location. All of the staff was so welcoming. The only downsides is that the room was warm even at the coolest temp and be prepared for the sounds at night. Lots of honking, garbage trucks etc. and we swore you could hear/feel music from the rooftop club. They provided earplugs upon arrival and there was a white noise machine in the room which was helpful. It didn’t stop me from sleeping!
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 5/5
Hotel and staff were great. The area was excellent close to restaurants and bars.
- 2.5/5
I liked the location I thought for a four-star hotel, it was below average. They traded style over comfort or cleanliness. The bathroom was the worst part of the experience; the ridiculous chain curtain was hard to close and did not completely close. There was no counter space in the bathroom or storage. The water pressure was horrible and the hard water did something to my hair. I didn't have hand towels or a rug for the shower until housekeeping came the next day. The bed was not comfortable. Additionally, my first night was very loud due to the restaurant or club that is attached to the hotel.
- 4/5
The lobby and social spaces were wonderful and fun. The room lacked a refrigerator for personal use but other than that the hotel was great. We didn't have a refrigerator for personal use.
- 2.5/5
Clean hotel. Good location. Noise level on floors 9 and above is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. We were in a room on the 11th floor and could not sleep from 1am until 6am. The club stopped blaring music at 4am and then the furniture above our heads was being moved for an additional 2 hours. Front Desk staff moved our room to the 9th floor but unfortunately the horrible noise level on the first night ruined our entire experience at your hotel.
- 2/5
Great hotel and amenities. Gym was not great, no bench and pulleys were not working well on the one pulley machine. Worst part was I specifically called to ask for a high floor because the last time I stayed there the club downstairs kept me up all night with booming bass. They assured me that they only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I should be fine but they would accommodate me with a higher floor. Guess what? They had a private party on the roof on Wednesday night. That kept me up with booming base all night long. Ear plugs did not work because the base was literally reverberating through the walls and floor.
- 2.5/5
Rude front desk person. Incorrectly charged for room snacks. No bellman help.
- 5/5
I love the fact that the establishment had many areas for photo opportunities. I didn’t like that I had to wait more than an hour to get my room and being that it was book way in advance was annoying!
- 1.5/5
The location is great.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel wonderful accommodations thank you very much
- 1.5/5
That there’s clubs within the hotel The room was not ready once we got there and that was like 4/5 o’clock and we weren’t the only ones waiting for rooms then. Mind you check in is at 3 and I called ahead and they said my room would be ready by noon
- 5/5
Always a great stay !
- 5/5
The room is well designed, clean and comfortable. I loved the sound machine. We did wake up stuffy though because of dry heat. An eco-friendly humidifier would be a nice touch.
- 2/5
Best, Antoine
- 4/5
Was a great experience. Unfortunately, we were charged for several items from the minibar that we didn’t indulge in.
- 4/5
Very convenient, Excellent views, Very good Rooftop. Should include Beakfast.
- 5/5
The room was PERFECT for our family of 4. We had so much room to spread out!
- 5/5
Great service and ambience. 10/10 would highly recommend!
- 1/5
No balcony n room had blood in sink dust all over I will never stay again
- 3/5
Overall I would say our stay was good. Cute cafe in the lobby with good lattes. Great location, right in between uptown and downtown, which is what I wanted so travel both up and down wasn’t super far. The Chelsea Market was literally a 2 minute walk, right around the corner which was really great! Loved it there! It seems like the hotel would be really cute in the summer, it has a lot of flowers/floral decor and a nice outdoor pool. We didn’t get to try any drinks at the hotel lobby bar but they sounded good. Hotel staff was very friendly. Room was cleaned each day, and quickly delivered us more towels when we asked. Room was interesting, a lot of metal (sink was metal, shower curtain was made of metal chains, the bathroom door had a large hole in it (seemed like an intentional design) which was right where the toilet was and no lock, not a huge issue for our family but was quite an awkward design). My biggest issue was that there was a nightclub in the hotel that I was not aware of until we checked in, we stayed from a Thursday to Sunday, most nights were fine except for Saturday night which we could hear the music from the club on the floor level from our room on the 3rd floor quite clearly, very intense booming until 3am in the morning. Very hard to get any sleep that night. Another issue was we had 3 charges on our bill from the mini bar alcohol that we did not use, thankfully when we checked out she was able to remove them easily.
- 2/5
The facility is beautiful but something was wrong with our heat. Our room was set to 70 but 65 degrees. We called the front desk and a nice gentleman came and restarted it. We set it to 80 to warm it up but it never got above that. It almost felt like it was blowing cold air. You could feel the temperature gradient the minute you went into the hallway. It was crazy how cold it was.
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
Staffs were great. But need revamp on pillows and hard to control room temperatures to reach a comfort level.
- 4/5
The staff was very helpful and courteous. We enjoyed the lobby bar too. The one negative was the $50 facility fee that we discovered when we checked out. We were told that the fee gave us discounts at the hotel bar and restaurant and some nearby amenities. Expedia is great at providing the total cost of a stay but this one slipped through.
- 4/5
The room was very well maintained, spotless. I’ve stayed here nearly a half dozen times. This time I was on the third floor that was accessible by the lobby elevators. This side of the property was extremely loud at night. A lot of trucks, semis & construction noise outside in the street. Things didn’t quiet down until well after midnight. I’ll return to the Dream. But not this side of the hotel. I believe it’s the portion right on 16th. If I’m ever offered a room here, I’ll decline it
- 5/5
Great staff
- 1/5
I felt like the night club was right in my room!!! Loud music till 2am!!! I will never stay there again!
- 3/5
I was not aware that the hotel has a club on the 12th floor, my room was on the 9th floor but I could hear the music all night. I would not have stayed at this hotel, if I had that information.
- 4/5
Good hotel in nice location in Chelsea. The circular windows are neat and the bathroom was really cool. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Little bit of an odor from the lobby to the elevator typical of NYC. If you're a light sleeper, you can here the club nearby late into the night. It didn't keep me awake but I know people that would have had an issue. Staff were very nice.
- 5/5
Clean room, great location
- 4/5
Will stay again
- 4/5
Clean. Had a slight housekeeping issue but otherwise it was very nice. Quiet
- 5/5
Overall wonderful experience
- 5/5
Helpful staff
- 3/5
Visually a pretty hotel but will try another hotel on our next visit.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
The room was spacious and clean
- 2/5
On both days, I had to go to the front desk to ask for cleaning, and it finally happened late in the evening
- 5/5
The room was spacious with a large bathroom. We enjoyed the downtown location!
- 4/5
Nice staff. Clean room and facilities
- 1/5
There was bugs in my bed. Also when I check in I was charged an additional night the staff said it was their procedure when booking with a third party and I should take it up with Expedia.
- 3/5
bar we fine.
- 3/5
Rooms were clean but on and off hot water. No heat working. Put the thermostat at 80 but still cold throughout the night.
- 4/5
Staff was very courteous and attentive, especially housekeeping and the front desk would like to see an actual late checkout instead of having to call in the morning after waking up and asking for a late check out but other than that beautiful hotel, great location, lusciously, comfortable beds and a great bathroom layout with a beautiful shower
- 5/5
Amazing service
- 5/5
Room was clean and service was quick!
- 4/5
Rooftop bar should be open for hotel guests. They were asking for a cover fee, which wasn’t expected and was exorbitantly high. Something for the hotel to take into consideration.
- 2/5
The hotel decoration/interior design was ultra modern with very low bed and uncomfortable mattress. When I woke up to take a shower, which I needed pretty badly and looking forward to there was no hot water. When I called the front desk, they said you should have hot water and what not very helpful when I checked out, I could not get anyone at the front desk to help me. It was only one person with about five people checking in and I had to leave. Staff was a little rude when checking in my room wasn’t ready even though I got there around 4 o’clock in the afternoon and check-in was at three and the person who was helping me didn’t know how to find me a room and someone else had to step in. Overall, for the price and location it worked out, but I really could’ve used the shower!
- 1/5
Not great. Rude staff.
- 2/5
Don’t get any rooms at the 11th you are right underneath the roof top bar .. you get the music and loud thump til 7 am Saturday and 4 am Sunday .. just insane I had to wear headphones to be able to sleep .. a real joke I get this is NYC this is just indecent
- 5/5
Everything was great except the light switches are obscenely bright in the room. Had to find ways to cover them In order to sleep
- 5/5
Great customer services and shower
- 5/5
The staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are spacious( comparing to other hotels I've stayed at in NYC). The room was clean. The bathroom complimentary supplies, are plentiful and smell wonderful. Loved the location. For a city hotel, there was very little to no street noise even on the fourth floor.
- 2/5
Overall a VERY disappointing experience, especially for the price. Room was VERY poorly appointed. Beyond cheap, many features/fixtures not properly functional, no coffee maker, fridge or microwave. Poor cleanliness in room - dusty, grossly too large sheets and a “nightstand” that could have been bought at IKEA for $20. No ice machine for guests and requesting ice took over two hours on two occasions Overall condition of hotel looked aged and worn, fraying carpets in hallways, dirty, etc. Line at front desk to check in sometimes stretched to the front door with only one or two people at desk. I spent close to an hour in line just trying to check in. Some desk staff consistently demonstrated a serious lack of urgency and a brusque and uncaring demeanor, however a couple of the men were nice. Oh, and multiple fraudulent mini bar charges that I had to spend time getting corrected. Again, grossly underwhelming and disappointing.
- 5/5
Everyone was super nice! Room was great!
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and a good location. Loved the Balcony and bed lunens.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Helpful and friendly staff.
- 5/5
It’s a little messy outside because they are doing construction work.
- 3/5
This hotel was just alright. It does have a nightclub that is quite loud, we could hear it through our room all night but it didn’t bother us. Also our room door was cracked open when we returned to the hotel, we immediately called the lobby to ask if housekeeping had been in our room. The employee on the phone dismissed us and told us no so we evened up going downstairs to talk in person. After about an hour and 30 minutes, security called back and said they had reviewed the footage and that no one had been in our room. How our door was opened while we were away is still a mystery… Other than this, the nightclub noise level and the resort fee, everything else was fine. Hotel is in a fine location and most employees were pleasant.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing and guest services was even more amazing.
- 3/5
Room had rubber cleaning gloves on counter upon check in. Only two towels provided and no hand towels or wash cloths. USB ports in all lights don’t work. No robes or any bar soaps in the bathroom. Stains on bedding comforter.
- 2/5
The property is really old and half multiple issue. Had to change my room in the middle of the first night because of excessive noise from the bathroom, had repair person twice in the second room. The internet connection is terrible and unfit for working, restaurant wasn’t available for room service on multiple days. Shower alternates randomly between hot and cold. No coffee machine in the room. Room is tiny and the desk too small to work from. For a leisurely stay without any time in the room possibly acceptable but for my purposes with working from room completely unfit. Only two stars becasue the staff was very nice, otherwise would have been one star.
- 3/5
The rooftop club’s bass sounds made our room walls vibrate until 4am. This hotel isn’t really meant for regular travelers and those who want to sleep. It’ll be a great stay if you were partying at the club.
- 2/5
First of all to navigate the lighting in the apartment you have to be an electrical engineer. But most and more importantly I couldn't get the room warmer than 68° when I went downstairs to ask them to please change my room they gave me blankets. Unacceptable!
- 5/5
Staff were so helpful and room was clean and comfortable. Only thing I’d say is I hated the light switch on the headboard. There’s no way to dim it.
- 4/5
Good hotel, nice location. Rooms are typical NY small. Unfortunately the bed in my room was pretty saggy. Also quite loud HVAC outside.
- 4/5
Clean and pleasant stay.
- 1/5
The room was very unmaintained, things just old.
- 4/5
Great place to stay. I will be coming back
- 3/5
Somewhat loud hotel with a nightclub on the top floor, but great location. Nice decoration. Mediocre rooms at a high price

- 5/5
Excellent stay. The moment we stepped inside we felt transported to Europe. The lobby smelled amazing. Other reviews state loud music from the club around however we do not have any complaints about noise. We had an amazing stay.
- 4/5
Location of hotel was great. No decent restaurant in the hotel and gym was very subpar-treadmill and peloton with a years old universal gym. However location great-near subway and Chelsea market. Bed and shower were satisfactory but not luxury.
- 2/5
We were placed on the 2nd floor… right above (or next to) a nightclub blasting music from 10 PM to 4 AM. The bass was so strong it literally vibrated things in our room. It was impossible to sleep. Then, around 4:15 AM, people leaving the club were screaming and carrying on in the hallway. It got so bad another guest came out and yelled at them to quiet down. The hotel gave us a $115 credit, but that doesn’t make up for a completely sleepless night. If you stay here, insist on a much higher floor when the nightclub is open because floor 2 was an absolute nightmare. Our daughter was running the NYC marathon the next day and we were exhausted from very little sleep!
- 5/5
Room was clean and unique. Staff incredibly friendly and accommodating
- 1/5
The hotel was more interested to catering to parties. The noise was insane for a 500 hotel. Never had to struggle in my life to open a bathroom door, you have a problem. For Hyatt to represent themselves with this hotel SUCks!!!
- 2/5
Unfortunately the loud music from the rooftop nightclub could be heard throughout the hotel until 3 am on both Friday and Saturday night. It was difficult to get any sleep.
- 4/5
Check-in was disappointing. I had a room just below a nightclub. The receptionist told me that the room was equipped with earplugs. The location was excellent, but it was very expensive.
- 3/5
Room was good size for NY. Most staff were friendly and helpful. We were not provided with "destination fee" items and so that was frustrating. The room was very very noisy on Friday night as there is a nightclk7v in the hotel.
- 3/5
Our room was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait thirty minutes in the lobby. The room had damage on the walls. The TV worked on one channel and attempting to change the channel made it malfunction and stop working altogether. We called the front desk to report it but no one picked up. Tub and shower were awesome. Location was great for us. Needed earplugs to sleep as we were on the second floor right above the entrance to nearby bars and clubs. Don’t feel like we got a good experience for the price.
- 1/5
Check in process was a disaster! Paid for a premium room and all of those upgraded rooms are on the floor below the club. Ended up charging the incorrect credit card for the balance due. Front staff seemed incompetent on basic check in process. Usually stay at the standard and will continue to do so. Never again!!
- 5/5
They do a good job of preparing guests for ambient noise, but I was not bothered by any noise the night I stayed. Very convenient location.
- 5/5
Everything were nice
- 3/5
Drink option good.
- 5/5
Staff was Great.
- 5/5
Fun & clean hotel
- 3/5
We heard really loud tribal drumming from tao when we were up on the 2nd floor. The best things are pretty decent sized rooms for NYC and awesome location.
- 2/5
I am furious, i looked past the mistake of workers coming in my room, i looked past the calls to my room by confused receptionists although it was a bit creepy, why did my room phone keep ringing!! I splurged and spent just under $700 for 1 single night in this establishment me just me pre-paid far before arrival, thats alot. i spent most of my time out , brought or ate out has all my own food and beverages & left by 10am the next day. I came for a small concert and left. Nobody apologized for the walking in, the calls, oh yah and the guy vacuuming at 7am for 30 minutes in my little hallway connected to another room that slamed the door constantly shaking my room - i got out first thing in the morning. It was just a very uncomfortable stay, now i know where not to go however i need an explanation as to why the dream thinks my credit card is a never ending well they can take from. Nearly $1300, so far? Are you kidding me, the rooom was paid, what is going on here! Lastly my entire stay was documented on a body camera, except sleeping not one second was missed, my hopes were too have an amazing stay at this extremely expensive "highly rated" hotel, it went extremely opposite
- 1/5
If you want to party stay here and you’ll have a great time. If you are working or with family definitely stay elsewhere.
- 5/5
Would highly recommend
- 4/5
Staff was really nice and very helpful. The room was clean and the area around the hotel was nice. We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Always a pleasure staying there. Close to everything especially the Chelsea Market. I’ve stayed here over 15 times
- 1/5
This hotel is more like nightmare instead of dream. While getting dressed a security guard or maintenance guy opened out door while we where in towels without announcing. We also asked for a clothing rack with extra hangers and the hangers looked like they were from Dollar Tree. Then we asked for a bucket of ice and champagne flutes via their text service and they never responded, we had to go to the front desk to ask for the items. Then at 1-4am every night it was cars honking and people yelling from the club. Then the next day housekeeping didn’t service the room and they alleged we had pressed the DND button when we didn’t. Then the last night the air vent started blowing marijuana smell. The overall room was extremely uncomfortable and worn down furniture. Lastly, the bathroom looked like a meat market with plastic shower curtain that had a metal curtain as well. The toilet looked like it was from a jail cell. Never again. This was terrible.
- 5/5
Really fun, and communicative staff!
- 2/5
When we arrived, hotel key didn’t work, so we always needed to grab somebody from reception to open it for 2 days. It was sad….and super inconvenient
- 3/5
Very high hidden fees that were buried in fine print. I will probably not use Hotel.com again
- 4/5
Great location and the room was very nice.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Housekeeping did not provide washcloths second night stay. Room door would stick and was very difficult to push open. Air conditioner would not reach to the cool setting. These little annoyances degraded the stay enjoyment.
- 4/5
The room is quite old and the couch needs to be replaced as there’s cracks and it’s not clean. The bed was comfy but it could be a little bigger. Overall staff and everyone else is very helpful. But the price is not worth $1400 usd for 2 nights
- 4/5
Pool was closed on the last day and that was not made clear up on booking.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was lovely and our room was clean and tidy.
- 4/5
Everything was easy and great. The sound from the nightclub is inescapable - it didn’t keep us up but easily could have.
- 5/5
Beautiful trendy hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, clean comfortable rooms, furnished beautifully. Skip the breakfast cafe downstairs, just reheating yesterday's baked goods, overpriced too. Too many better options in walking distance.
- 5/5
Amazing weekend, great hotel. Clean, helpful staff, fun vibe. Love the location as well.
- 5/5
Staff!!!!!!
- 5/5
Great location close to many shops and some great restaurants. Beautifully designed rooms , super comfortable beds and clean.
- 3/5
The check in process was a nightmare. Room was not ready at 3pm. Desk staff was saying that there was still people in room due to late check out. How is that allowed or our problem. Offered no remedy just stand and feel stressed. After 15 mins or so they suddenly had a room. But check in closer to 4. A lot if stress for no good reason. We had travelled all night and needed to get to our room on time. Unacceptable.
- 1/5
I never even checked into this hotel because I had booked it and booked specifically a pool view room with access to the pool only to find out that there was a private pool party that was ticketed to the public and there wasn’t even tickets left for hotel guests so I canceled my reservation and the hotel did not honor me canceling the reservation and I had to go through Expedia to get my money back
- 5/5
Great location right next to the amazing Chelsea market and one street away from subway if that’s your thing .
- 5/5
Great area
- 3/5
Terrible incompetent service. They don’t answer the phone. Ever. Then they act like they never heard the phone for the last 15 min. They are either dumb or lazy. Either way, no good. Slow as ever. They act so clueless. It’s weird.
- 3/5
The front desk staff were very nice when we checked in! I was mostly excited about the pool, but the poolside staff were not as nice, it seemed like they were annoyed everytime we asked for something. You have to pay to enter the pool area for most of the day, and when it was free entry all the chairs had used towels on them so there was nowhere to sit. The pool is small too. The hotel had very nice aesthetics, which was great for picture taking! But the hotel room itself was meh, instead of light switches there were buttons which only worked about half the time. Also the walls were so thin! The bathroom door also had a big hole in it instead of a handle or lock, which was awkward since I was sharing the room with my friends. There was a TV in the room, it was pretty small though. No fridge or microwave or coffee maker.
- 5/5
Wish the pool had been open !
- 2/5
The club really ruins this hotel. If you value your sleep, don’t stay.
- 2/5
There was a strong odor in room. The comfort was average. Location was good. The pool felt like a club scene- really loud with a DJ. The light system mechanism was really strange and confusing. sounds weird but Turning on and off the lights was truly an annoying process. Maybe best for single travelers looking to party. For the price it was not what we were looking for and would not recommend.
- 4/5
It was nice for a short stay.
- 5/5
10/10 highly recommended
- 2/5
Unpon checking in the receptionist was very unpleasant, got to the room it was so small I felt like I was in a matches box. The bathroom had mold everywhere. Wish I had took my money to a much better hotel with the price I payed.
- 2/5
King room with balcony, overpriced. The balcony was barely a balcony. Not impressed.
- 3/5
Location is good. But if you are looking for a good night sleep then re think as the music from club goes on throughout the night.
- 5/5
Great pool
- 3/5
Lovely helpful staff. Room had stains on the wall behind the bed, and all furniture was weirdly low. Hard for us tall folks to get in and out of, especially after a long day of walking in the city! Shower curtain also isn’t long enough across to actually enclose the shower, meaning the bathroom floor was flooded. Also— only two towels and one washcloth for a two person room seems chintzy. I know we could ask for more, but we shouldn’t have to ask for separate washcloths!
- 2/5
Bought the bronze king + balcony. Got to hotel and they said they overbooked. They “upgraded” me to a silver king saying it had a slightly better view. But failed to mention there was no balcony
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Great location. Frustrating that we booked for the pool and it wasn’t until after we paid our non-refundable deposit that the pool was only open to families until 10am. Bars/pool geared for clubbing crowd instead of hotel guests. Also, stayed in 1008, marketed for 4 people, but pull out was so worn that we all had to cram in 1 king bed. Bikes were great and staff was friendly. Location is excellent.
- 4/5
Very nice pool access experience. Clean room and nice futuristic vibe. My only cons was, front desk did not offer me my 30 dollar food credit as stated in their website when you get the pool access rooms. Also someone kept smoking cigarettes and it was seeping into our bathroom. I do appreciate being allowed to check out 1 hour after check out time though. Overall was a decent experience but wish they offered more with the King pool access rooms.
- 2/5
I don’t even know where to begin… the experience at this hotel was so disappointing. Our room was downgraded upon check-in and the staff were so unmotivated to provide a positive experience. We booked a room for our family of four and were given a room that fit two. We had to beg for roll-away beds for our two kids and were repeatedly told that someone was bringing them to us, yet hours went by with nothing. I resorted to begging for sheets so that I could turn a couch into a makeshift bed.. and the whole time, the staff could not have cared any less. Hyatt should be disappointed in how this hotel is being run.
- 4/5
I traveled with my family and although I understand the hotel is looking into become a bit more family friendly they are not quite there yet. It was a struggle the pool schedule which owns one of the reason why I booked here and we wanted a bigger room but we were not aware that the one we rented was right below the rooftop pub so we were moved to a smaller room. Although the staff was super kind and nice to provide breakfast vouchers to cover the cost difference it was more about the experience. Again perhaps it is not the hotel, it could be on me not choosing the right hotel for a family trip.
- 4/5
Ok
- 1/5
Staff was not polite, did not receive owls when asked about it. They didn’t know what i was talking about. Parking was difficult.
- 4/5
The room was okay. I noticed it wasn't thoroughly cleaned. The wallpaper had stains by the window. I feel like a strong solution would have gotten it off. The sofa was extremely worn. It needs replacement. There were some hairbows on the floor. Only one roll of toilet paper. Other than that staff was great super amenable. The room needs a refresh
- 5/5
Great location and easy to walk area. Hotel staff is very accommodating. When checkout came they were not pounding on the door at check out time. We had to gather and leave without being rushed
- 4/5
Good hotel could use a few updates and I find it ridiculous you need to pay to use the pool. As a Canadian it’s 250 to rent one chair at the pool ontop of the 1300 for two nights I’m already paying. Great location love that there are room with balconies and the fact Tao and ph rooftop are so close
- 2/5
Hotel is very dirty. Very limited hotel staff. No valet , no baggage help. Hairs all through room. Broken light bulbs. Mini bar had complete shelves of food missing. And or not offered. Only drinks with high rates.
- 1/5
Lost mine and what seemed like everyone's reservations. I'm not sure if they know we even stayed there lol. Downgraded our room. Cold showers on the last day, no hot water. Ran out of basic food and drink on day one and didn't replenish. Frustrated and disgruntled staff that never smiles. I stay at a lot of hotels from very basic to pretty good. This was the most bizarre and dissatisfying experience I ever had at any hotel... ever. It became a local joke with all guests, including my employees as we passed the front desk and watched people shaking their heads. Also witnessed them tell a lady to "wait her turn" while she said her child was having a medical emergency and need to get her her medicine. Unreal. Don't stay here. Plus, on the weekends, the music goes LOUD until 4am. Trust me on this.
- 4/5
Didn't like, towels were rationed a bit too much and access to the pool. The staff wasn't very helpful to accommodate seating.
- 3/5
I was informed that breakfast would be included in my stay; however, this was not the case, and I had to purchase my own breakfast on-site. Furthermore, I found the access to the rooftop lounge to be unsatisfactory. As a guest of the hotel, it is reasonable to expect easy access to the rooftop area without any additional barriers. It is unacceptable to require guests, who are already registered at the hotel, to stand outside in order to receive a stamp for re-entry to a space within the hotel where they are currently staying. In summary, while my experience was manageable, it did not justify the expense incurred, although I did derive some enjoyment during my stay.
- 1/5
Beds are low and bad service
- 5/5
Had a great stay. Would def stay again. Balcony was great!
- 5/5
Great staff clean rooms soon. Guacamole was one of the best I had in a long time.
- 1/5
I’ll make this fast as I’d like to forget it. 1). Didn’t have my reservation. Took 45 minutes to find it. Got downgraded into a dirty room where they have a noise machine it’s so loud (4am every night). There is a club next door. Witnessed at least 10 incidents with a lot of people shaking their heads. 2). The pool was overcrowded with no chairs, ever. 3). Cold showers on the last day. 4). Watched a woman whose son was having a medical emergency and they told her to wait her turn in line
- 1/5
The beds are terrible. It feels like they have limited number of springs in the bed so the they push into your body. They will hurt your back. I've never had a more uncomfortable bed at a hotel. You have to try to sleep on your side between rows of springs. Can't even explain what a bad situation this is. Then my daughter left something in the room. we called an hour later to have them retrieve it which they did. But they never mailed it out and again I can't reach the front desk. Lastly they added another person's charges to my room bill. And guess again, it took multiple calls and an hour of time to for my assistant to get a hold of them but they refused to take off without speaking to me. Yet they won't call me. So i just have to dispute it with my credit card company. Do Not Stay At This Terrible Hotel.
- 4/5
Good stay! We enjoyed the amenities.
- 3/5
What we didn’t like was that there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. There was also a fight in the room next door to ours and no one checked in to see if we were okay.
- 2/5
It’s basically a 24hr a day night club. Constant noise night and day
- 3/5
The soundproofing of the room is not good, and it is a little noisy.
- 3/5
Hotel was worn
- 4/5
The location was great close to everything, which made getting around very convenient. However, the stay was a bit pricey for what was offered. One downside was the lack of soundproofing; you could hear everything from the neighboring rooms, and the constant door slamming made it hard to rest comfortably.
- 5/5
It was a great experience and I am happy I made the choice of Dream Downtown by Hyatt. Hope to comeback soon.
- 3/5
It was ok
- 3/5
There was no VIP benefit even though Expedia shows there is one. The most upsetting part was the pool was inaccessible for the hottest day we intended on having a pool day. It should be clear that the pool can be closed even to hotel guests for private events. It was extremely upsetting and ruined the first full day of our trip when we just wanted to relax by a pool.
- 1/5
There was a long line of check ins, and with my bags I let the woman know that I was checking out (I had not been in the room more than 45 min) and that this was a terrible experiance. I asked again for a refund on expedia and the hotel said no. I said I was there for 45 minutes, and I was willing to pay for 1 night and they could return the remaining $600+ for the remaining 2 nights on the reservation and I was staying elsewhere. This was a terrible experiance and first time at this Hyatt property.
- 2/5
The hotel was not kid friendly , and non of the amenities were available to us. after 11 am the pool is open to the public and all kinds of people were in and out some not appropriately dressed for the pool. i got the suite that was supposed to sleep 4 with a convertible sofa, the sofa bed was old and dirty and no sheets were provided, i ordered water and it never came. and the ac stopped working. it wasn't worth the $$$$ in an way , should've stayed at the maritime next door.
- 3/5
Probably won’t stay there again
- 4/5
Pool really isn’t accessible to hotel guests. Paid beach club for over 21’s. GM was helpful when I had issues with opening hours. Could definitely benefit from more front desk staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 3/5
The amenities are not great: no coffee in the room, pool is freezing and unheated, gym is dark with no light switch. Great location though.
- 5/5
Everything was good 👌
- 3/5
The property was average. The room small & the balcony tiny with a street view. We booked this hotel because they had a pool. We found out once we got there that the pool chairs had to be reserved on a separate website at $100 a chair. They also would rent them to outside hotel guests. We just thought that was crazy since this was a pricey hotel to begin with. I don’t think we would stay at this hotel again. We did enjoy the pool bar & staff but that was about it. The other staff seemed disconnected to their guests. We expected more courtesy.
- 4/5
great room and view staff good. check-in 20 minutes late but we were able to store our bags safely for several hours prior to check-in
- 1/5
We were harassed. There is skanky customer base doing stripper dances at the pool, a nightclub ont eh a rent that produced a ton of street noise and congestion in the lobby and understaffed causing long wait times at the lobby. This place is ridiculous.
- 2/5
The property was nice but we had 3 people in our party & only received washcloths for 2 if any was available 😩
- 2/5
The visual design of the hotel and rooms was great. Practically, we had issues. We had a room below the nightclub. Sorry, we didn't pay a fair rate to have to wear earplugs to sleep. After miscommunications with service over the phone, I went back down to the front desk. When I asked to move, I was told we needed to wait a day before we could get a similar room. The following day we had to explain this again and again. In the late afternoon, we were told our new room was ready. At the front desk, again, we were asked to reconsider. The new room not the same class that we had booked. It was half the size and had no city view. No explanation or reversal of rate was offered. Also, the balcony lights were left on and the blackout curtains don't actually cover the window. I called down multiple times to the desk to ask them to be turned off. No answer. The following night those lights were off. Made me think that the first night was a mistake. Too bad no one could answer the phone to help us when we needed it. Ultimately, it's a unique hotel in a good neighborhood to visit. Don't assume you will get a great night's sleep.
- 2/5
It’s a nightclub. Fine if you want to party and get sloshed.
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay! 10/10 in all categories
- 5/5
Rooftop bar pool lobby restaurants in the area
- 3/5
Issue was the bed was horrible, not comfortable at all and our backs are killing us. HVAC was kinda crappy it was either full cold or heat, if you adjusted one degree up it would go full heat.
- 5/5
Everything was easy and seamless—clean rooms
- 5/5
Beautiful stay, will be back!
- 1/5
The fact I was staying at the hotel and I wasn't able to enjoy the pool
- 5/5
Amazing landscaping and great views. Property was in a great location along with great customer service and staff
- 5/5
Can’t wait to come back!!!
- 5/5
It was a great experience and conveniently located
- 5/5
It was great.
- 2/5
Room very run down. Rug tore, couch super dirty. Could only use pool before 10 and after 4 because of pool party with another company. We would have to pay to get in during the day. Super loud with bar and events. Couldn’t go to bar unless we waited in a huge line and we were staying at hotel. Manager very professional and offered to help change rooms but the next day in the afternoon and we had reservations for an event.
- 4/5
8 out of 10
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel . Clean friendly. The pool area is amazing. I highly recommend.
- 1/5
Pool and roof are not part of the hotel. They are run by Tao. You have to pay to sit on the chairs there is no section for hotel guests. The club on the roof goes until 4am so you will not have a quiet room. Also when I asked the concierge months in advance about roof top tickets for the fireworks they said all hotel guests have access to the roof. When I got to the hotel the celebration was sold out and we had no access ! This was the worst communication and customer service I have ever experienced. All false advertisement
- 3/5
Beautiful hotel, great amenities but no communication at all between staff members. Pool was closed for a private event when we got there, staff is rude and plays stupid with you when you look for compensation to make up for the only reason to book this hotel over other hotels.
- 3/5
Stayed here during Pride weekend with my girlfriend, beautiful room! We chose the king w/ the balcony which was small but worth it!! The only HUGE problem I had was it took 3 hours, YES 3 hours, for our room to be ready. I thought the other review about how long they had to wait was an over exaggeration until it happened to us. We tried to check in from 1:55pm, which we knew probably wasn’t going to get us anywhere, no room but that’s fine! UNTIL we started going back @ 3pm and they kept telling us we were in a “queue” and they would call us once the room is ready, they never did btw. Don’t get your bags back until the room keys are in your hand, we had to give them our bags twice since they told us “10 minutes” which turned into 2 hours. My partner and I walked around for another 3 hours. 3pm-6pm before going back since there was no call. Our room was ready at 6:30. They said they were backed up on housekeeping and their linen truck was delayed. Check out was extremely smooth, however to check in everyone we had to wait over 20 minutes no matter what time we went up. Would I stay here again, not sure! Definitely NOT during any events. Also the pool design is cool, just not cool when you’re in the lobby looking up.
- 3/5
The tower we were put in had a very late night club 4 floors above us. Loud until 4 in the morning. Needs a concierge
- 5/5
Hotel was great and very clean. Great environment, fun roof top bar.
- 3/5
Here goes. The pool goes private to subcontractor which makes it hard to use the amenity and the extra costs are high $150 for a lounge chair, if you can get it. My room AC didn't work, needed to change at midnight. The engineer had to change the AC to go lower as a VIP Status, which was bizarre. Hotel had impact from the nightclub which left the cleanliness the next morning, only OK. Upper floor rooms can hear the nightclub, they leave earplugs. Rooms are great. Location great, They just need to disclose some things in advance, or I needed to pay more attention,
- 5/5
We had a great stay at the Dream Downtown. Whatever was not perfect (like our room wasn’t ready even if we were there 1h30 after check in time), the staff made up for it with efficiency, kindness and professionalism. The housekeeping staff was quick and efficient and the overall service was impeccable. Will definitely come back to Dream Downtown. Also, the location is perfect!
- 2/5
This was a convenient location for an event at the city winery. However it was an extremely noisy location, with several clubs on the block. The street noise kept us up all night.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
It's a cool hip place.
- 4/5
Full ironing board would be nice No breakfast room service
- 1/5
Did not feel like a high quality experience, which I expected being an upscale resort.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome! Everything was clean. My only complaint was that the rooms were super small and not a lot of privacy between bathroom and bedroom, but not a deal breaker. I would stay here again.
