Reviews
Guests generally express satisfaction with the hotel's staff, cleanliness, and location. The complimentary breakfast is often praised, but also frequently criticized for being chaotic and under-resourced. Elevator wait times are a common complaint.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Chaotic and under-resourced breakfast area
- Long wait times for elevators

Our first time in this hotel and unfortunately a bad experience. A very old property that needs remodeling. Breakfast was exactly the same every day. The staff mixed things and charged our stay two times, I had to file a subsequent claim.

The hotel charged me twice for my accommodation and 3 months later I am still chasing them for a refund. Will never stay with marriott again. What appalling service.

Cheking is taken very long time Behaviour at front Desk Manager is worse Although my self is a Marriott bon voyage member and ask the manager to credit the points he denied and told it will be done later, till yet not done Security deposit not yet received

Location was perfect. It was very easy to get to all of the known places. The elevators was extremely slow and and broke down for one day. I had to use the steps. I stayed on the 24th floor and amongst that the air didn’t work in the room. It took 24 hours full day placed me in another room and they only wanted to give me $100 back when in fact they should’ve refund the whole day. I also work with Indigo hotel in Savannah Georgia the chef and the food and beverage director they did not do enough to compensate the bad experience

Location is perfect to see all of NYC. The hotel is great value for money. The staff were lovely and the ambiance was great. Could possibly improve the cooked breakfast. All was very edible but a better selection of eggs etc would be welcome.
- 4.5/5
Location Very few elevators. Electrical cabinets are not well isolated, switches can be heard all night.
- 4/5
Check-in went more quickly than anticipated. Breakfast bar was nice. Room was clean, but very small. Staff was nice. Main issue was that the air conditioning in our room was not working. I reported it to the front desk and was assured it would be addressed while we were out. When we returned many hours later, nothing had changed, except the window was now open. Our room was 80+ degrees for our entire stay during hot weather. The hotel applied a $150 credit to our bill.
- 5/5
Clean room, all in great condition. No complaints. The buffet breakfast was okay, but not as “exceptional” as some of the other reviews mentioned. Small rooms but expected in Manhattan. I had a great stay overall and would happily stay there again.
- 3.5/5
Location was perfect staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms with two queen size beds are too small. Look a lot bigger in the photo. The bathroom was very small as well and the sliding door gives little privacy.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was lovely and comfy and big. Location was good. Needed more lifts to go to the main floors, sometimes you were waiting for over 5 minutes then you found lift completely full so you had to wait for next one. Breakfast so busy whatever time you came down for it. Never got a place in dining area, had to eat it in the foyer every day.
- 4/5
Location, amenities Too crowded and short staffed to handle the influx of guests. Didn’t like that my room wasn’t cleaned until the afternoon bc of the shortness in staff.

Location, beds, pillows, staff Breakfast in disposable plates/cuttlery
- 4/5
Room was clean, very well laid out with a nice sized bathroom, and very quiet. We were next to the elevator and were worried we'd hear it all night-we heard nothing. Had a great view looking downtown. Location was very convenient to subway and Penn Station, and easily walkable to almost everything in midtown Manhattan. Breakfast was basic for how big the hotel is but provided a good quick start to the day. Check in and check out took more time than expected. At peak times, the lines for desk assistance almost went out the door. Elevator wait times could also be upwards of 5/10 minutes.
- 3.5/5
Good location, fair price compared to general fares in the city. Has lots of small commodities inside and the room is new. The elevator was a problem, especially in the morning you can wait even 10 minutes before managing to get on. The room is a bit small so there was barely any space to open the luggage.
- 3.5/5
The location is good. The staff is also good. terrible water pressure breakfast needs to be more varied
- 3/5
Lots of restaurants nearby , comfortable bed Noisy and dirty area , reception is awful it looks like an hostel rather than a 4 stars hotel, room is too small and they cleaned the room at 8 pm so when I came back from work I could not have a shower. Also there was a very loud noise in the room from the A/C (even if you turn it off!).
- 3.5/5
Good location. Close to subway. Varies choices for breakfast. Friendly staff. Our bathroom light kept blinking on and off. Asked them to send someone to fix but they never did. Our last night there we only had light over shower that was working
- 1.5/5
The hotel itself was comfortable if somewhat chaotic even by NYC standards but my trip was ruined by what they subsequently did. I left the keys to my house in the safe in the room. Several attempts to contact the hotel including phoning them several times went unanswered. Two weeks and one day later I get an email saying they've found my keys and if I click on the link they'll courier them to me. I clicked on the link and they want to charge me $274 to courier keys that weigh perhaps 100 grams to the UK. That's outrageous. As is the fact they ignored me for over 2 weeks before finally responding. Very poor service made worse by a blatant attempt to profit off my misfortune. Not impressed. I'll boycott all Marriott hotels for a few years after this. Let's compare that lost revenue to the 274 you tried to chisel me for.

The hotel's location, staff, and our room were all terrific. Our room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. We look forward to staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square South in the future!
- 5/5
The breakfast was outstanding. I particularly liked the cold cuts and the pastries. The layout of the room was a bit awkward.

The staff were very understanding and helpful, and also the room itself was great. Small but the tv quality is kinda meh but that’s not too big of a deal.

The property is nice, the breakfast was good I paid for a night, but my flight was canceled. When I got there at 8 o’clock the next morning, they would not let me check in for several hours, even though I had paid for that time. I had called repeatedly and left messages to let them know that I would be checking in this morning instead of last night. I really needed a shower. It was a miserable waste of time.

Liked it! Great location close to everything, but much quieter than Times Square which we appreciated. Good sound insulation. Friendly staff. Our room with two queen beds (with quality mattresses)was large by NYC standards. Good buffet breakfast and free wine or beer happy hour if you are a Bonvoy member. Only issue was having to get our room cards revalidated more than once.
- 4/5
Room was clean and modern. Location good. Pillows too hard. Cleaners took the cups from our room but didn't replace them. Check in took a long time.

Check in is at 4pm and not a minute sooner. That was extremely disappointing. They were on a new system so checking in was extremely laborious and whenever I needed to buy anything from the lobby store it was an extreme chore since the register didn’t work. The lobby smelled like cigarettes and the staff never answered the phone. Ever.

- 3.5/5
Great location close to Madison sq gdns which is where we needed to be , think the promotion of the property should read Times Square area as it is a good walk to TSq The dining facilities were poor , I don’t think a supposedly 4* hotel should have such poor facilities, the breakfast buffet was below average served by using plastic unusable cutlery and thin plastic plates , the variety of food on offer was also of a low standard
- 4/5
Nice place in great location. Breakfast was great. They only had two lifts. Check out time people were waiting hakf an hour to get in the lift to go down to leave.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly and efficient. Perfectly located for most of the major attractions. Room was a little small but think that is the norm for New York. However, there was only one tiny closet for 2 people to share for hanging clothes and no drawer storage at all so we had to live out of our suitcases. Breakfast hot food very basic and minimal choice and Breakfast room not big enough as difficult to find a seat unless you ate after 9.30am.

I am furious as I tried to exchange my room for you Penn Station location and NO ONE would help me. So I ended up paying for two rooms and never stayed at the Times Square Location. INCREDIBLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WILL PROBABLY NEVER STAY AT A FAIRFIELD AGAIN.
- 1.5/5
Location and decent or better breakfast buffet compare to other hotel in new york Customer Service is Poor.. I came early about 10am in hotel just to drop my 1 luggage so that i can tour around New York City with my partner.. usually other Hotels in new york like Hilton they will get your name and give you a call and update if in case the room is ready so that you can enjoy your the rest of your day exploring new york city but According to the front dest staff in Marriott they don’t do that in Marriott, so i understand and move on. I came back to hotel at 3pm and queue( it was a long queue and it’s not an exaggeration). Then the front dest told me that the room is not yet ready. So i tried to understand since the check in time is actually 4pm. I spend my time in hotel lobby bar and i got 2 drinks ( wine and cocktails) which i enjoyed. At 4 pm I queue again ( again it was a long queue).. Here in this part that i was pissed off.. 1 staff he tried to insert some guest who have inquiry.. i told him why he was doing that and asked him what is the purpose of queuing if he let somebody in the line..Furthermore, when it was my turn and i spoke to the front desk and it takes time for him to find me a room and i got this feeling he will told me again that the room is not ready. Furthermore, before it will happen i already lose my patience and told him about my frustration.. then eventually he give me room in 16 floor.

A nice clean hotel in New York. Elevators are a bit slow. Breakfast is good.
- 4/5
The downsides: parking is a five minute walk away in a garage, which was challenging in the rain. The loading zone was crowded. Also, our room was very warm and humid despite having the air on - we only stayed one night so I'm not sure if that's common.
- 5/5
Checked in very late c. 10:30pm; got a very pleasant and warm reception from Jeff the receptionist, who offered changing reserved one king bed room to a two queen beds at higher floor; the room is small and a bit cramped; next day morning breakfast was better than expected; location is fine, within walking distance to where we want to visit.
- 0.5/5
Our flight got cancelled and we messaged the property through booking.com that we were going to drive and they shouldn’t cancel our rooms, but they did and then they were full. The phone number did not work.
- 3/5
I got there really early for check in, the front desk told to give her my number so that when my room was ready she would give me a call. I waited about 3 hours and saw people checking in and giving their key pad that’s when I went to the front desk to see what’s going on.. long story short they just forgot about me which is sad because I actually enjoyed my stay…

Welcoming staff, clean rooms and lobby/dining spaces.

Friendly staff; Great location. The AC was not working during my stay. Their handyman came fix it for 4 times but still not cool enough for the room. The front desk staff offered me $100 refund for the inconvenience. Because I booked the room via booking, so he asked me to contact booking for final refund. When I contact booking after my stay, the customer service from booking said there were no any notes from the hotel regarding to the refund. In the end, booking was very kind to process the refund anyway. The hotel not only didn't provide basic facility I need but also didn't keep the promise to do the refund. What a terrible experience with this hotel. Won't stay here again.

Overall the hotel is very clean and tidy. The location is a good very close to Penn Station and walking distance to Time square boardway show. But the surrounding is not so pleasant to be honest. Lobby is a bit feel like a youth hostel.

Clean and quiet room. Breakfast was plentiful. Good location.
- 4/5
Great location. Good breakfast bar. The rooms are clean and nice. But a little small. Essentially once we each brought in our luggage. The air conditioning did not seem to be keeping the room cool enough. They did give us a fan to use. Overall a good place to stay!

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at this property. The room was clean and well designed and recently renovated, although it is a small room- so great to sleep but not a room you can spend a good deal of time in. The breakfast was great and the location is central to several Subway lines.

Breakfast wasn't the best and the room was much smaller than expected. Staff were kind and helpful.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast options. Elevator situation is a little inconvenient. Waiting almost 10 minutes for an elevator each time… other than that would stay for a quick trip. And leave out early to catch an elevator
- 5/5
My stay at the Fairfield by Marriott was excellent. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient. The room was comfortable and very clean, breakfast was good, and the staff’s service was incredible. A very pleasant stay overall.

Strategically located, near to everything. The staff demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skill from the front desk to house keeping. Would definitely stay here again and recommend friends, colleagues and family members. Excellent choice
- 5/5
Clean room and very nice staff
- 4/5
The hotel rooms by New York Cuty standards was extremely clean and spacious... the bathroom counter space was more than adequate ... the shower was lovely... the 'room view' of the city scape was enjoyable... the bed was very comfortable and love that the room was also sound proof ... breakfast each morning was just enough to have a head start on my day...all in all a very enjoyable experience
- 5/5
Is clean good breakfast close to train station
- 5/5
This hotel was a 12 on 10 from the moment we arrived until we the moment we left. We had to check out early due to a blizzard that was headed our way - without even asking, the hotel offered to refund our last night which was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites for anyone visiting NYC.
- 2/5
First the elevator situation is terrible. There are 2 elevators for 27 floors including staff. Not only is getting the elevator difficult as we were on the 26th floor. The cleaning staff are constantly getting on and off the elevators with you, with trash and cleaning supplies to go up or down so there must be no service elevator. This ties up the elevator even more and when you have dinner or show reservations you have to account for this time. Second, the pillows are flat and stiff, worst pillows I've ever had in a hotel. For those reasons I wouldn't stay here again.
- 5/5

The bed was comfortable, and I really enjoyed the hot water and the great breakfast. The location was also excellent. However, the heater fan was so loud that it disturbed my sleep. Even though a mechanic came to fix it, there wasn't much improvement. Aside from the noise issue, it was a nice place to stay.
- 3/5
Room was dirty upon arrival, the same are was never vacuumed the entire 3 night stay. The elevator wait was so long we had to use the stairs multiple days in a row & were almost late to important appointments. Elevator tiny, rooms very compact. Hospitality needs a serious upgrade. Definitely not worth your money to stay in a dirty small room.

The way the staff handled situation terrible. Two days before of my check out day a storm was approaching which caused a cancellation of my flight, I’m traveling with two minors which I proceeded to ask the front desk staff if I could extended my day because my flight was cancel and if so I knew by law hotels have to give you accommodation in a case of natural emergency like a snow storm being you one of the guests helping with price reduced or price match. They proceeded to respond “No we don’t do that.” The front desk person didn’t want to help us at all telling me go to Expedia and try to rebook. I was so in shock. Not just that the cleaning. Crew every day open the door us announcing one second please. The day of the check out the cleaning lady opened the door again at 10 am telling us it was day of check out, me responding I’m aware that the check out is at 12;00 pm, her responding yes but can you get out at 11:30. I was so mad because we paid 800.00 for stay that didn’t have empathy to work with us and helping to rebook or have any respect of privacy at all. I proceeded to do my check out mind you us being members of Marriott! So I proceeded to check out and relocated to a holiday Inn hotels which does not have a good reputation and for our surprise this people even let us inn before check in time. Fairfield didn’t do the job like Holliday inn and the price difference is crazy. Never staying in Marriott again 😡

- 5/5
Excellent! Highly Recommend! Very clean. Great Location. Our new goto to stay in NYC!
- 5/5
Staff was amazing, room was clean and accommodating.
- 4/5
The room was clean stayed on 24th floor executive corner room. I would stay again. Breakfast was included, mini fridge and microwave in room. Get to breakfast by certain time otherwise its crowded. Due to snow and cold no one couldve sit outside for more room. Stayed for New Years awesome experience. FRONT DESK STAFF GREAT!!
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly and accommodating staff, great location.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, had frig, microwave and coffee. The free breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and it may seem like I am just going on but I would definitely stay here again. And it was quiet and close to everything.
- 3/5
Rooms are tiny and wonkily designed. Elevator waits can be long on higher floors. And the pillows are so thin and wispy, they wouldn’t support the head of a paper doll.
- 5/5
Great location, very clean, nice rooms, extremely courteous staff, great breakfasts! Excellent experience, would highly recommend!
- 5/5
The hotel was wonderful. Very centrally located. The staff were very friendly and helpful. An excellent stay!
- 3/5
Room was small, food was limited on variety
- 3/5
Room was tiny, hotel was crazy busy and elevators took 5+ minutes to arrive, breakfast was pandaemonium (nowhere to sit - had to take food back to room. The location was very convenient with lots of restaurant options nearby. Housekeeping didn’t come till 5pm one day and we had a fire alarm
- 4/5
Great hotel for a stay in Manhattan. Staff was very accommodating for check in a couple of hours early.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious, check in staff was amazing. Staff was friendly. Room was quiet with a great view Great amenities. Overall, a wonderful stay!
- 5/5
The stay was phenomenal, city view room did not disappoint. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay! Great location, just a few minute walk from Times Square and other sight seeing locations!
- 5/5
This hotel was perfect for our mother/daughter trip. The hotel itself had a very warm and cozy lobby area. The hotel was close to all popular NYC attractions and tons of food/drink options. We would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The room was very nice. Spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly! The common area were clean and offered different beverages and snacks.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and fresh. The breakfast was good different variety to choose from. I definitely recommend
- 5/5
Amazing trip! Clean rooms and friendly staff. Very welcoming. I would stay here again!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly! Room was clean! They definitely need more elevators, but that’s not going to happen….. (they are VERY slow!) Breakfast was good, there was always enough/nothing was empty.
- 5/5
I love everything about my stay at this hotel. It was close to pretty much every attraction. The mall, Macy's, Times square, Madison square garden and a lot more all within walkable distance. Housekeeping staff were very warm and helpful. Room was very clean, and fresh linen every day. The reception staff were friendly as well. I will definitely recommend
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff was fantastic. Walking distance to the subway and the hotel will call a cab if needed. Plenty of restaurants in the area - we walked most places. Breakfast was great, the extended hours were nice. The room was small but that is to be expected for the city! We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The hotel was awesome! The staff was fantastic and perfect for an overnight stay. I wanted to personally call out Christian (bell boy). He was so polite and so helpful at getting my mom and I a cab! Awesome service
- 3/5
Rooms were clean. Staff excellent. Fire alarm went off!!! Like 5 times till 3 in morning
- 5/5
Great location, good variety for breakfast, fun happy hour.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay. The atmosphere is very welcoming and pleasant. The staff was very respectful and attentive, and the bartenders were especially friendly. Their cocktails were excellent. As a constructive suggestion, the elevator could be managed by a staff member so it flows more efficiently during this busy time of the year. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you for everything.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed and wonderful breakfasts
- 4/5
Hood
- 5/5
A perfect stay!
- 5/5
Great hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast being included was a bonus and coffee!
- 2/5
Fire alarm went off multiple times at 11:30pm-12:30am, housekeeping never arrived and had to remind them to service our room at 4p while we were changing/showering for our evening show, only two elevators for a very large hotel so morning breakfast/checkout was extremely difficult to get to the lobby, would call down for towels at front desk with no one to answer multiple times. Not worth the rate they requested.
- 3/5
It was a nice hotel but fire alarm went off 4-5 times at different times of the night and we got no sleep
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, nicely decorated in the staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast in the morning was also very good parking was easy at the lot right around the corner.
- 5/5
Everything is good
- 5/5
The lobby luggage & transportation handler ( Chris ) was excellent !
- 5/5
Fantastic location. Room was clean with all the amenities I could need. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast buffet with good coffee and extended hours
- 5/5
The hotel lobby was very nice and decorated for Christmas and very spacious. They had a bar that opened in the evening and the complimentary breakfast was good. The staff were also great and always very helpful.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, which is always nice. Good location in Manhattan too.
- 5/5
Excellent Hotel. Terrific Location, many major sites were within walking distance and the metro was only a block away.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Extremely friendly, helpful. Very clean and fantastic location. Love this hotel.
- 4/5
Great staff, clean rooms, great location. We had a room with 2 queen beds for 3 people and the room was very small and the bathroom even smaller!
- 5/5
Room is very small and neat. Love this place.
- 4/5
Staff is kind and helpful
- 5/5
Clean room! Super nice staff!
- 5/5
It was clean, breakfast was great, hotel staff was very kind
- 3/5
The staff at the front desk was unable to find my reservation even though it was booked under my name. She seemed to give a little attitude and even suggested that I was at the wrong hotel. Thankfully, I had an email with a confirmation number and she was able to find my booking with that information. Once it was confirmed I actually had a reservation, she was a lot more polite and in general nicer, but I do wish her initial
- 5/5
Excellent location, costumer’s service was great, room clean and comfortable….
- 5/5
Thanks.
- 5/5
The service was excellent, the service was very good, comfortable rooms, pleasant and clean spaces.
- 5/5
The check in was flawless. Everything perfect
- 4/5
Well I did get the room I wanted but was given two rooms for the inconvenience. Kind of weird but the hotel stated they ran out of the rooms I had requested.
- 5/5
Overall great stay! Rooms a little on the small side. Great location and a lot within walking distance
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Everything was good!! I loved the guy at the front desk, Jeffrey. He is adorable.
- 4/5
Staff was very attentive
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Everyone was very helpful &welcoming . Clean rooms. . 4 pm check-in is tough but they do have a luggage storage room.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean. Staff was very helpful and nice.
- 5/5
Clean well run hotel
- 5/5
Clean rooms, hot showers! Excellent location.
- 4/5
Staff was great! Easy checkin, super knowledgeable and the lobby was amazing. Big to lounge at and the foosball table with a huge hit with our kids.
- 4/5
The hotel and rooms were well kept. Staff was helpful. The on-site breakfast was great to have with kids.
- 5/5
Great location in a good neighborhood with easy access to the subway. Rooms were clean with plenty of hot water. The only suggestion I have is to put a luggage rack in the room as there’s nowhere to put a suitcase. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
A perfect stay! Friendly staff, clean room with a wonderful city view as promised, super convenient location, easy baggage hold for early or late arrival. Very nice breakfast buffet with good coffee and extended hours for late risers. Can not wait to return in December!
- 5/5
Was a great pick
- 5/5
Clean, friendly, great breakfast, Halloween decor, live music, bar was great!!!
- 5/5
Cozy atmosphere, clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean room, good location, breakfast included.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Breakfast was good for a fast meal. The first couple days, pancakes were offered but not for the rest of our stay which was a disappointment to my family. Staff was great and the bar food was very tasty. Elevators were somewhat overloaded and took time to get up to our floor. Several guest were on the wrong elevator for their floor. Maybe better signage for those guests.
- 5/5
Room and mattress were comfy. Men who handle storing luggage before and after check in were top notched.
- 5/5
There were four of us in a room with two double beds. There was not enough room to hang our clothes.
- 5/5
Came to NYC for a Broadway show and some touristy things. The Fairfield was in a good location being very walkable to many things. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a station in the lobby to schedule an airport shuttle or the bell hops can schedule a private ride. I chose the private option which was basically an Uber Black XL which was very nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
- 5/5
The room is small but that's expected. There were times in the morning that we had to wait for more than 15 mins for the elevator.
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. Breakfast was offered even though room was not ready.
- 4/5
Good breakfast. Near to mayor attractions in Time Square.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay
- 5/5
Everything was excellent here....i would stay again!
- 5/5
Pleasant customer service
- 5/5
The staff were friendly. The property was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel was in walking distance to Times Square, Broadway and restaurants. I will be back!
- 4/5
Having breakfast included was a perk. Main complaint was the A/C. Room never seemed to cool off or have good air flow. Had to open the window to help. Elevators take a long time during the breakfast rush, just get on at your floor and ride all the way up and back down, or you’ll be waiting a while. Good location near Times Square and Penn Station, but my least favorite location I’ve stayed in NYC as far as immediate area outside of the hotel.
- 5/5
Great location within walking distance of Times Square and theaters. Very friendly staff. Nice and well stocked breakfast. Good value for money
- 5/5
Good value, clean, nice staff
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is walking distance from multiple attractions and dining places. Loved my stay!
- 4/5
Super friendly service from front desk staff. Our room was cleaned well every day. And the hotel was legitimately quiet--even in a busy city! Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Lovely property, close to everything if you wish to walk or take the subway. I enjoyed the complementary breakfast every day of my stay. They also had a live music band/duo in the lobby at certain times which I found very enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable. All of the staff were warm and welcoming. Will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was great although the elevator and lobby area had a terrible food smell.
- 5/5
The building and rooms were clean, amenities were good and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Overall a great hotel to explore NYC. The condition of the hotel was really great, the location is amazing and easy to walk everywhere. The breakfast was pretty poor, especially the paper plates and plastic cutlery, but other than that the hotel is really great.
- 4/5
Property was clean, area around was a little dirty and unsure about safety. All and all it was fine and we had no issues but were in by dark each night v
- 5/5
All amenities were fabulous, worth staying for the breakfast alone. Eating out is super expensive so that perk is worth it. Rooms were clean and all little things like microwave, fridge, coffee machine were perfect for our stay. Room was clean, staff was hospitable. Take my word for this: use an drive service like Lyft/Uber to head back to the airport.
- 1/5
• Shower drain was backed up. • Towels smelled strongly of urine. • Hair was present on the bathroom floor and even on the painting. • The front desk acknowledged the issues and offered to switch rooms. Second Room – 406: • The bed had visible skin flakes and numerous hairs. • When reported, the front desk suggested “linting” the debris—an unsanitary and unreasonable response if linens were truly washed as claimed. • We ultimately replaced the sheets ourselves to make the room usable. Third Room – 324: • Strong odor of urine throughout the room. • The front desk attributed it to “wood,” though no other rooms with the same furnishing had this smell. Had to change our own sheets when we decided to not switch rooms anymore and go back to 2nd room. The front desk guy actually said “I can just lint the hair and flakes for you. Like I don’t know what to tell you dude, hair is hair.” This is right after claiming that they cleaned all their sheets with chemicals daily. Disgusting
- 5/5
Hotel is very clean. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This is the second time I have stayed here and I will be back.
- 5/5
Good location just a bit on the pricey side for what you got. My bathroom didn’t feel the cleanest, there were yellow stains on the wall.
- 5/5
Manager Jeffrey Wright was very friendly. He helped us navigate the subway system to get to a Mets game. Jeffrey and Mustapha helped print out our boarding passes for our airline flight home. Based on these experiences, we would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
I spent weeks searching for the right property at the right price in Midtown Manhattan for my 10 day stay. I was not disappointed and I would stay here again. It is located in a quiet street between 8th & 9th Ave and an easy stroll to Penn Station for multiple subway lines. The lobby is calm and spacious with a bar and sitting areas. Breakfast is included which whilst very repetitive for 9 mornings as there is no variation day to day, with complimentary food and coffee, it sets you up for heading out for the start of your day. My room on the 15th floor was small but all I needed and the bed was comfortable, pillows were good and the crisp sheets were divine. All staff were polite and helpful. I recommend staying at Fairfield Inn & Suites W 36th Street as a solo traveller for safety and enjoyment.
- 5/5
I was so pleasantly surprised with my stay here. Everything was clean, the room came with a microwave and fridge, and even a couch, the room was a decent size for New York City. There was live music in the lobby a few times during the week, and The breakfast was good. The staff was super friendly and they had room service. My room was clean. Would definitely stay again and come back with my family.
- 5/5
Very convenient location. Staff extremely helpful and friendly! Nice entertainment on Sunday morning. Beds were comfortable and the location is extremely clean!
- 2/5
Noisy air conditioning, waiting up to 15 mins for lift in the morning, breakfast ridiculously busy even in the “off peak” times
- 5/5
Excellent.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Clean, quiet and friendly staff
- 5/5
Breakfast is great and staff really friendly and helpful
- 5/5
It was very convenient for transportation and shopping and restaurants. Very good property.
- 4/5
Breakfast option was basic, not much fruit .The rooms are small.
- 5/5
Stayed for 1 night and it was very convenient-location wise, the staff was friendly and it was clean most importantly. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Quiet & safe
- 4/5
More variety in breakfast
- 1/5
At check-in, there was no complimentary water in the room or even at the front desk. Breakfast was served on paper plates, which is unacceptable for the price we paid. I would expect proper service and presentation. On top of that, there was no on-site parking available, and even the outside parking was paid. Overall, this fell far below Marriott standards, and I would not recommend this property.
- 5/5
Great location and service. Very friendly staff.
- 3/5
Property is well located. Rooms are OK, but are quite small. Cleanliness was OK, but not great. Lobby is VERY busy and elevators could be a bit of a wait. Included breakfast is pretty decent for the price. About 3 blocks to the closes subway station
- 4/5
Everything was good, nothing was great
- 5/5
Staff do an amazing job keeping the property clean and measures are in place to help guests feel safe during their stay. Our room was spotless, which was a bonus considering a lot of these other NYC hotel rooms are not as clean. We took advantage of the complementary buffet breakfast and gym, which were both 10/10. The only thing I didn’t really like was how loud the AC was. As a light sleeper, it would wake me up multiple times during the night whenever it kicked in. The lighting in the bathroom is also not the greatest for applying make up (for all my ladies that like to wear makeup), but honestly, not that big of a deal. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and family, and will be back again next year!
- 5/5
Great breakfast
- 5/5
Loved the atmosphere, room and staff. Breakfast was great!
- 4/5
Clean, wonderful staff, breakfast great. Room had microwave & refrigerator. Only 1 ice machine.
- 4/5
Clean room. Breakfast selection could be better.
- 5/5
Good location and breakfast.
- 3/5
Hotel was fine. Out dated. Rooms need a little TLC
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
I would definitely say here again!
- 5/5
It was great. The staff was helpful. They have free breakfast every morning and there are a lot of options for people. We were close to transit and was able to go to the MET and the Mets Game along with Coney Island. There is a long wait for the elevators in the morning so I would be mindful of that when leaving to start your morning. Outside of that it was great.
- 5/5
Good stay always
- 3/5
The breakfast buffet was limited at best. The elevators were ridiculously slow! Wasted so much time waiting for the elevators up or down.
- 4/5
Nice place to stay. Very busy but they managed the crowd
- 5/5
Small rooms but optimized the space well. Comfortable rooms. Fresh smell upon entry of room. Everything in working order at hotel. Very close to subway transit and short walking distance to Times Square. Discounted (by hotel) parking garage 1 block behind hotel. Parking staff organized. Con- very minimal street front allotted to unloading luggage out front of hotel. Hotel is directly beside NYPD station which boosts the feeling of safety for hotel guests.
- 5/5
Rooms were very comfortable. The customer service was amazing as well! Highly recommend property.
- 5/5
Nice little bar for evening cocktail. Excellent complimentary breakfast selection.
- 4/5
Most staff were nice, especially the person who helped us check-in. However, the issue we encountered was that the door lock of our room ran out of battery during our second day. More than an hour of our time was wasted as I had to go to the front desk 3x before they figured out that it actually ran out of battery. I had to wait 10mins for the elevator each ride and the tech who was supposed to change the battery took time, we were just standing by our room waiting and he didn’t even say hi nor apologized. Other than that, the housekeepers did a great job in maintaining the cleanliness of our room. There were also lots of options for breakfast which we definitely enjoyed.
- 4/5
Wish they had aras se
- 3/5
Very busy hotel with lots of queues at lifts, luggage & reception. Room walls also quite thin...could hear noisy neighbouring room at 2am. Concierge not very knowledge about most things except airport taxi's !
- 5/5
Staff great and so convenient to everything
- 5/5
Excellent hotel stay, clean, close to Times Square, restaurants, and transportation.
- 5/5
Staff were really nice and accommodating. The breakfast had a wide variety to choose from. The hotel to near Time square and accessible to trains ans subways. Would stay here again
- 5/5
Great location 2 blocks from Penn Station and 8 blocks from Times Square. The staff is lovely, everyone went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. I will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The breakfast has a large variety. The rooms were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was walkable with lots of restaurants around.
- 4/5
Wonderful staff
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and helpful. The entire hotel was very clean, especially our room. Also, it was fairly quiet for such a busy area of NYC. Breakfast was ok, but options are a little limited. We would definitely stay here again though.
- 5/5
We stayed here to be close to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. It was perfect for us. Clean, nice staff, everything in walking distance. Lots of food options. Very good included breakfast buffet. Would absolutely return.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were amazing. They were very courteous and attentive, very helpful and friendly. The room was small, but very pretty and well organize. The breakfast buffet was yummy and lots of options.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly, place is great we really enjoyed our stay
- 3/5
Wonderful hotel but be prepared
- 5/5
We arrived early before room was ready. Friendly staff helped check in luggage and made our day in New York tour much easier. They even offered us the buffet breakfast which was appreciated. Bed is comfortable!
- 4/5
Great location, there's a CitiBike station right outside for easy commuting. A little loud/family-oriented for business travelers, but it's what you get for being this central.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice, breakfast was good and location is excellent
- 4/5
Everything is good, just a little bit small room.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was exceptional. Room was very clean and updated.
- 1/5
Absolutely the worst hotel stay of my life, stain on bed, incorrect room, broken toilet, housecleaning knocking early am despite do not disturb sign, and broken ac making loud drilling noise throughout the night...got no sleep. Rooms are supery tiny with tiny bathrooms.
- 5/5
Best employees
- 5/5
This hotel was recommended by other reviews and I agree it was a great place to stay. No issues at check-in. Jeffrey and the staff were great. Room was clean, comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The only thing I'd say about the room is there needs to be a tiny end table on the double queen rooms next to the bed next to the bathroom wall. Breakfast was excellent each morning with little to no waiting on food placement when things ran out. The only issue we had was the salt shakers need a little help in the humidity. Again great place, great room and short walking distances to nearby attractions.
- 4/5
Food was good and transportation access was great! The bed was Very comfortable
- 1/5
I have been trying to fix this for a week and getting the run around. Very disappointed
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, attentive & accommodating. The hotel was very clean and location was perfect. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
My Mom and I really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast buffet was perfect, the location is just right and the staff were amazing.
- 5/5
It’s a wonderful hotel and a convenient location!
- 4/5
.
- 3/5
Room was comfortable. Staff were outstanding. But too many little details were lacking. The need to swipe my key card to enter the property and for everyone using the elevator needing to swipe and select their floor at once was very dicey for this mobility limited person. There were also issues with the in-room notification system that upped my street level. I won't stay in this location again.
- 4/5
Close to Times Square,
- 5/5
Great location and comfort , much better then usual NY hotels in that price range
- 5/5
Wonderful services
- 5/5
Breakfast was better than most. Great location.
- 5/5
As advertised, it was clean quiet and pretty centrally located. Check in was easy and the staff was super friendly. Things I didn’t like: one of the locked doors wouldn’t open for keycard access. And the room was really tiny which was fine for me and my 10 year old but still pretty small. The king sized bed took up most of the room. We could also hear every time someone in adjacent rooms shut their doors, which did wake us up a few times.
- 5/5
The hotel was in the perfect place. It was within walking distance to everything that we had planned to do!
- 5/5
Clean comfy beds. Room size better than NYC average.
- 5/5
I visited early July. Live music was good but schedule strange and on early afternoons which was very distracting and difficult to hear the receptionist. Useful marketplace for snacks but very expensive. Breakfasts very nice but no fruit which was a shame. Ask for gluten free bread rolls or chocolate muffin. Nice range if alternative milks.
- 3/5
The property was a great location. Breakfast was good but had limited options for those who do not eat beef and pork. Staff were not very helpful, my wife and I were struggling with luggage and the staff were just looking at us and did not offer any assistance - maybe that’s a cultural thing but certainly something that stood out for me.
- 5/5
It was convenient. Lobby was big and lots of places to sit.
- 4/5
The hotel staff, room, breakfast and convenience of location was great. Lobby and rooms were very clean. The only negatives we had was a noisy room air conditioner made a buzzing type noise just after going off. The second was not against the hotel but not used to seeing garbage right on the sidewalk and so much of it every night and the homeless on the streets. It was an experience since I don’t live in a big city but be prepared for that. Otherwise great location near Penn Station and great hotel to stay.
- 2/5
I will never return to this hotel. The toilet didn’t work and we asked twice to have it fixed and it never was. Also there was a terrible clicking all night which didn’t allow me to sleep
- 5/5
Lovely clean friendly hotel. Breakfast was busy but good enough to set us up for the day. Spent most of our time exploring and this was a lovely comfortable base to return. Great location in midtown to explore from with subway close by. Would definitely consider on our next visit.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, walkable to all attractions and restaurants. Cruise terminal was very close.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing! I highly recommend this hotel!!!!!
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
I was surprise how well done the hotrl
- 4/5
Great location, super breakfast, comfortable rooms. Only odd thing was we had a king and a double pull bed but there was not enough room to open up the wkd bed to use, we tried …
- 5/5
the room was spacious, super appreciated the amenities and the welcoming staff! Perfect location as well, you can walk to many popular sites and public transport is steps away.
- 5/5
My family of 2 adults & 2 teens found this to be an ideal NYC hotel! Great location, easy walking distance to so much, including Penn station if you want to take the subway. Breakfast was good, long breakfast hours, pretty nice gym, ac worked well. We had a executive 2 queen & it was nice to have the couch & extra space. Mini fridge & microwave
