The hotel is centrally located with easy access to subways and dining and shopping. The breakfast is good. However, one of the two elevators was out of service during many guests' stays, causing long waits and inconvenience. Some guests also mentioned cleanliness issues and unhelpful staff.

    Although our rooms had adequate a/c, the lobby was usually very warm. Additionally for 2 of the 3 days we were there, only one elevator was working and it creaked! Also the a/c in our room was very loud. Staff was friendly and helpful

    It was super hot in the lobby and the breakfast area and the halls outside the rooms. Only one elevator was working and we ended up having to use the stairs to the 7th floor due to the long wait. We did appreciate the friendly staff especially the lady working the breakfast each morning.

    The A/C unit rattled and the fan created a racket throughout the day and night, but produced a comfortable temperature. There was no hot water in the room. Luke warm shower and sink were reported to the staff as well as the fan. Bed was great Room was spacious, clean and enjoyable. Staff were helpful. Lobby was comfortable and inviting. Location is great for attending our annual event.

    I had to extend my stay by two days, because a couple blocks from the hotel I tripped over uneven pavement and fell the wrong way which resulted in a fractured rib. They were able to keep me in the same room and promptly reset my door keys as each extension became effective. Especially kind, empathetic and helpful were Betsy, Melvin, Sharon, and Alethea!! Thanks so much for your service and to the housekeeper who tidied up when I requested.

    During my stay I was given a room that the bathroom floor had recently undergone tile replacement. The marble (poor choice for wet surface) floor tiles had not been cleaned after installation (had a white film of grout) on the surface...I discovered while exiting the shower and sliding accross the floor landing on my butt! They sent up a maintenance guy to clean the floors and offered me a 20% discount off my stay, and some stay points. The next morning the elevator broke down and I was stuck inside the elevator until the fire department was called and I was rescued 45 min later. I was told someone from Ritz management would contact me...I still have NOT been contacted. My sister stayed in another room and had to be relocated because the thermostat in the room was missing and the carpet was musty. Overall this hotel is in VERY BAD SHAPE!

    The elevators are painfully slow. We waited 10 minutes in the lobby for one to finally get there. When we got to the floor we were hit with a heavy perfumed smell from floor cleaner I guess? The room also had the same odor. As someone who is very sensitive to artificial odors which can cause breathing issues this was not at all acceptable. The beds were comfortable enough. The breakfast offerings weren’t great. We chose to go out to eat. The QR welcome info contained no useful info about checkout procedures or time. When we were leaving the staff had a door off a room, and trash filled the hallways which were very narrow making it necessary to take large steps over and around bags. All in all it got the job done, but I won’t be back.

    Great location outside of the typical touristy areas. Clean and decent size room. I wouldn't ask the front desk for NY restaurant suggestions, though!! I'm a NYer and asked for a few and was told Red Lobster!! Do your own research for that! Our stay was perfectly fine and would return.

    Great location, older hotel with signs of wear. Stayed for three nights and had no issues besides traffic for the elevator that is rather old. Breakfast was very simple but they are transparent about that. No major issues besides a vacant hotel room beside the one I stayed at that looked like it was in the process of being cleaned/ refurbished and two big bags of the previous guest's trash sitting there holding the door open for several days. I think staff should have cleared out that trash much sooner.

    Good value for lower west side area of NYC. Walking distance to Flatiron and Chelsea Market. Subway was only a block and half away. Staff was courteous and responsive. Stay was pleasant even while some remodeling was being done. Luckily our room was completed already with new matresses and wall art. Room sizes and hallways a little small typical for NYC though. Overall stay was pleasant we would stay there again if presented with an opportunity.

    It was the worst 8 night stay of my life. The hotel under construction with no notice. I worked nights but 1st two nights no sleep because they were drilling on the other side of my wall- curtains broken-sink leaked on bathroom floor. They moved me and the next room had no air conditioning for the whole day. The manager wouldn’t discount my room or stay although I didn’t sleep for 1st 2 days and had a gallery I was installing till late hours and opening night on no sleep. Them same thing for my last two days- drilling in my walls and wanted to move me for the 3rd time. Manager once again very inconsiderate and offered no discount or free rooms since 4 nights of no sleep and paying high prices for no care and consideration for the guests.

    The staff was excellent. Very nice and very helpful. However, the place needs remodeling and a good deep cleaning. The room smelled like feet and dirty head. I would not stay here again because I am very delicate about cleanliness so maybe keep that in mind. The chairs at the cafeteria area are so worn out. Overall I would give this place a 6/10 which is unfortunate because the staff is truly good.

    This was my second time staying at this hotel as my first experience with this hotel was good. There a a few points that need to be upgraded at this hotel for example, the bathrooms, hallways and the doors to the room. It is an old hotel that needs a update. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again as the location and price point were great.

    Pros: location is good and a little off main road so not too noisy but sirens could still be heard, staff were nice and helpful, free breakfast was good with the usual basic options, and room was clean but was only serviced one of our three nights. Cons: The entrance is a major tripping hazard, like the floor is caving in but covered with rugs, room linens were fine but the pillows were paper thin and I had to combine 4 to make even one decent pillow, the bed was not comfortable and felt like sleeping on a piece of plywood, need to upgrade the toiletry options - hate the bar soaps, the bathroom had a huge mirror vanity that blocked the only outlet in there, and finally the elevator was very sketchy and we even got stuck in it once on our way down to the lobby (the elevator alarm was going off all morning so this must have been an ongoing issue that day and from what I could tell from the markings on the permit card inside elevator was the last inspection was done in 2022)

    Nice hotel in Chelsea area. Only about 8 rooms per floor. Area can be noisy with vehicle traffic/emergency vehicles but it’s like that everywhere in Manhattan really. Staff put out lemonade mid day in the lobby which was nice, and there were plenty of breakfast options to keep the kids satisfied. Had a great stay.

    Dissapointed in this hotel. Had expected better. Stained carpets. Only one lift out of 2 working thoughout our stay, 3 nights. This led to over 10 minute waits at times. Staff advised on check in that it would be fixed the day after check in then on our last day were heard to tell other guests it had broken the day before with kids jumping in it? Not ideal in a 20 story hotel.

This hotel seems to function as something other than just a hotel, longer term ‘residents’ I suspect partying into the night. Overpriced even though cheap.     Had to turn fridge to 7 to get it cold. Had an odor. High pressure water in shower, but no hand held. There is no pool at this location. Kitchen is rather small for such a large hotel. We took our breakfasts back to our room. The did change breakfast selections out each day. Only 2 elevators, small but they are very fast. There is 20 floors so you will make a lot of stops during busy times. They only have 1 bell hop cart in a hotel with 20 floors. It is the best looking property on that street. Subway is around the corner...3 minute walk. Some restaurants and CVS within walking distance.

    The elevator isn’t very promising. You’ll hit your floor and it shakes all the way up and down…then it will not bring you to the floor the first time you hit the button. Our room was on the 19th floor and it brought us to the 20th. Wanted to go to the lobby…brought us to the basement area

    Location of the hotel was fabulous. Close Trader Joes, train station and restaurants. Staff was great, really enjoyed their attentiveness. Only drawback was their breakfast, they had the waffles, eggs but wished they had more yogurt and fresh fruit... but then again, it's New York, there are plenty of breakfast places to go eat. Overall, I would definitely come back and stay here next time I visit the Big Apple.

    Breakfast and coffee were bad, we ate out daily. Everything is rundown and in need of refurbishment. Rooms are small, heat and cooling was fine. Beds were okay but not good. Location is good, close to subway and several good eateries. Staff were very nice and responsive. All said, we'd try somewhere else next time since we paid for breakfast we couldn't eat.

I had to call twice for shower gel, called at 1pm to have the room cleaned and was told by the receptionist “it is not every day that the room is cleaned but I will tell housekeeping.” Not a good answer. Need more that 1 person for breakfast

    Rooms: comfortable, decent size (family of 4 = 3 adult-sized & 1 tween) in a double queen bed room, bathroom was a bit tight but we made it work, lots of readily available hot water (definite must as the Temps with windchill was in the TEENS), popcorn ceilings, small closet (barely fit our 4 winter coats) Complimentary HOT breakfast: daily offering included some egg dish (scrambled or omlette), some meat dish (a type of sausage), some carb (potatoes or French toast); oatmeal, make your own waffle, cereal, yogurt, toast/bagel, muffins, juices, coffee & tea. Not blow your mind amazing, but well stocked/re-filled often and did the job to prep us for a busy day of sightseeing. They also had grab & go breakfast bags at the front counter if you didn't have time to sit & eat which is a nice touch and afternoons had a hot chocolate station set up by the elevator. The seating area also remained open throughout the day so if you wanted a meal of takeout or to reheat leftovers (as the microwave was accessible here), you had a nice place to sit and relax. Service: we don't need much but the service was impeccable and very attentive. All the staff are nice and always asking if we need anything. We left the "do not disturb" tag out all day once and they left us a note to ask for ANYTHING we needed. In all the hotels I have ever stayed at and done this - no one else has EVER done that. Location: PERFECT

    Good location in Chelsea, very convenient for walking and close to the subway. The hotel is simple but comfortable, and the breakfast is modest but adequate. One small issue is that the bottled water in the room was not complimentary and this was not clearly indicated, which was a bit confusing. Overall a good practical option for a short stay in Manhattan.

    Rooms were a bit tired and dated. Sheets could have used a really good wash or to just be retired all together. AC/Heater in the room was very loud when it kicked on, waking me up each time. Lobby restroom could have used a good clean and to fix the lock and slow flowing faucet.

    the room was clean, bed very comfy, breakfast was awesome, many things to eat from scrambled eggs and sausages to healthy options like yogurt, muffins, fruit etc. staff super helpful and friendly and location excellent if you like walking (best way to see NYC) to Greenwich Village, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown. For the price and amenities it's unbeatable.

    The staff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The location is great! Close to really good places to eat, close to subway lines, and it’s not as busy as areas like Times Square. The only downsides to our stay was the bed and pillows were not great, and they only had eggs 3 of the 7 days we were there. However the rest of the breakfast they offered was pretty decent. Coffee and tea bar 24/7 was really nice. Would stay here again for sure!

    Hotel is in the perfect spot for traveling Manhattan! We were able to pretty much go anywhere with having the hotel right there. We had such a nice stay too! Staff were very friendly & our room was kept clean everyday with fresh towels & fresh sheets. Breakfast was also a good spread of different options like eggs, some type of meat, & etc. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

    The front desk staff is wonderful. Everyone on every shift is kind, courteous, and helpful with information and problem solving. However, the room did not have proper/efficient heating. No temp controls working, only an external fan machine in the room. It would not change levels or warm the room up. It only blow cold air at one temp (70 degrees) This situation was extremely disappointing.

    Honestly, overall this is a good hotel with a great price located in a very nice part of Manhattan. You’re just two minutes away from fifth Avenue and all the luxury shopping. Also a few minutes away from the nearest subways to take you up and down into the other Burroughs if you needed to. The hotel room specifically is very outdated and does need some remodeling but overall my experience was great and the staff are amazing, helpful and welcoming. I definitely would come back.

    Rooms were nice and clean - cleaned every day. Comfortable beds. Late check out automatic -12pm. Happy to hold luggage whilst you spend your last hours in the city. Ideal location to get out and about either uptown or downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

    The breakfast area was always out of items and extremely overcrowded. There was no apple juice or orange juice 4 out of 5 days of our stay. Our room had no heat. Had portable heaters placed in it. One did not work and one shut off every few hours. We had to ask toilet paper 3 out of 5 days. We had to ask for towels 3 out of 5 days. The staff was friendly and nice but the overall stay was extremely poor.

    The hassle of waiting with the maintenance guy for an hour when we arrived, where we needed to change, who couldn’t fix it and couldn’t let us know what was going on in itself disrupted our trip. Then offered a room downgrade without a view which we declined if it could be sorted. Told it would be sorted and a very small heater placed in room for the night. Freezing room until the heating was eventually turned off turning off the cold air. That’s exactly how the situation unfolded. Very dated rooms with leaking tap and dated fabrics and wall finishes. Good location for me, but imagine being in a hotel with no heat in the winter paying near £400 a night and they don’t sort it in the week (we asked again to be told they’d check) and no offer or partial refund. No heat in New York for £400 a night!

    We were in New York City for the day and were staying the night at the Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea. When we got to the hotel at 10:00 am to drop off our bags I asked one of the front desk people about getting a roll away bed to our room. She said if there were any available it would be in our room. When we returned at 10:30 at night I asked again about having a roll away bed. The person at the desk called housekeeping to bring one up. When they arrived to our room they brought a baby crib. The housekeeping attendant didn’t speak English so I called the front desk and let them know what happened. She apologized and said they would send one up. She called back a few minutes later and said they didn’t have any and would send up extra comforters and pillows. The attendant came back with one pillow and one blanket. I had already been resigned to the fact that I was going to sleep on the floor and let my wife and daughter sleep in the bed. One blanket was not going to cut it. I asked him to bring up two more blankets and we needed an extra towel. After coming up twice I think he was fed up. Another attendant came and literally dropped one blanket in my hands and turned walked away fast! Wasn’t a great experience in terms of trying to make your guests comfortable. The hotel was fine, but communication amongst the staff can be improved.

    The room we were given was a very tight only one chair to sit on The toilet was running all night long and the heat in the room couldn’t be controlled. Cold at night as if the thermostat was controlled at night to their mood. My shower in the morning was not hot only mild temp. The homeless at the street level was very uncomfortable and made it unsafe with their belongings crowding the sidewalk. I would not go back to this Inn

    My stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel was in very poor condition — the curtains were ripped, the furniture was dirty, the bathroom had stains, and the mirrors were damaged. I had booked for three nights but had to leave and find another hotel to finish my stay because the room was unacceptable. To make matters worse, I was not reimbursed for the two nights I didn’t stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

    Breakfast wasn't healthy ... typical American high-carb/fat, low vegetable fare. Room was clean and front desk help was very friendly and professional, but little details dragged down this Hampton Inn a notch or two: scratches around the doors, stains on the mirror and a TV remote that didn't work. OK, especially for the price, but could be better with a little extra attention (and money). I've stayed at much nice Hampton Inns in the middle of NOWHERE.

    For the price I paid i definitely would not recommend. The staff was friendly and the front host was kind. However, the lobby smelt absolutely horrible. The elevators smelt bad the hotel rooms were extremely dated and the carpet was filthy. I appreciate the staff and their hardwork but I would not recommend this due to the high price and terrible dirty odors.

    I was happy to find this well kept hotel located near my son's apartment. The room was very clean - and I am picky! The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, the breakfast, although not "healthy" was a welcome morning option rather than yet another restaurant!     Our accessible room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The hotel overall is not in top condition. The shower was almost impossible to use except as hand-held. There are just two small elevators. Breakfast was truly awful. The only bread item was sliced white loaf. I couldn't swallow the potatoes. The front desk staff were mostly friendly, but here is one very simple suggestion: when a guest arrives to check in, no matter how important whatever you're doing on your phone is, just look up, smile and say "I'll be with you in just a minute." We usually stay at another hotel on the same block, and I think I'll go back there next time. The rooms are a bit smaller, but the staff are super helpful and at least you can get a bagel and a decent cup of coffee for breakfast. Which, for $500 a night, isn't really asking too much.

    The only thing that disappointed me was the breakfast. The breakfast itself was good, but the eating area was a little cramped. The serving trays with the food did seem a little too small for the amount of guests. I did find myself waiting "in line" for the next batch of eggs to come out. It is difficult to plan ahead for a number of people to serve because not everyone will attend and you can never anticipate how much one person will eat, but I have seen bigger serving trays at less occupied hotels. The hotel is conveniently located in walking distance of quite a few sites and a couple of subway stations, so moving around was very easy.

    This hotel is very nice and the location is very good! Very close to everything in Mid Manhattan, Breakfast was nice to have at no extra cost! the only complaint i had was the water pressure , wasn't that good and it was hard to flush the toilet. but that may also be because we stayed on the 19th floor!! Other than that i have no Complaints. Definitely would stay here again

    When we arrived the smell of urine was so strong in the entryway. Luckily this was gone the next day when we left for the day. Staff was nice. We had asked them to hold our luggage which they agreed to, gave us claim tickets and then never moved the luggage to the backroom. It was in plain site by the FD for three hours. Wide selection of breakfast foods, but it kept running out. Luckily they had a lot of seating.

    The property was fine. Our room was new. Lobby great. Buffet breakfast was good. When we came back one night. There were bags of trash on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. The next morning they were gone. But there was trash in front of the hotel. On the way to the shuttle was awful. So if you can catch a uber in front. You will be spared the ugliness. That happened on the way to the airport shuttle. Which was right around the corner.

    We got a great deal- second time staying at this hotel. Rooms are modern-large. Nice accommodations. Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Definitely would stay again. Close to many trains. Just be a little mindful- the street can be a little sketchy- just beware of your surroundings.

    This location was great for easy access to Penn Station and getting back & forth to the US Open 🎾. Lots a great bars, food trucks & delis. Only drawback was the valet parking which was pricey ($70 plus tax) per day. STAFF was very helpful, we will be back!

    First room floor was wet under the carpet and had rank smell entire 2nd floor, was wet when you took your shoes off. Requested a room switch, front desk man was unfazed, asked no further details or apology but moved the room. Next room was okay, slightly run down and glitchy tv but comfortable. Charged 100 dollars for 30 minutes late checkout which has never happened at any other Hampton property, especially without a phone call or reminder. Would stay only at 100 price point, otherwise better deals elsewhere.

    Did not love that we were charged for two water bottles that we did not drink, but the concierge eventually reversed the $6 charge. I would stay again, just ask them to remove the water bottles to avoid that charge.

    The areas around the hotel definitely need updated. We had a 2 queen room and it hardly had any room for the 4 of us to move around in - very small and beds made very loud noise when you laid down on them (not to mention very uncomfortable). Very thin/sheer curtain for window you couldn’t close all the way. Staff was however very friendly and kind which we loved.

    The hotel itself was not bad. There was an area about 30 feet from the door that was used as a toilet for the homeless people. It was unpleasant to see and smell. There was plenty of dining choices about 2 blocks over.

    It's convenient for being so close to multiple subway lines. The NYC subway express lines would usually stop at the 23rd Street stop, so you have more options when it comes to taking the trains. We stayed at this hotel for only one night and booked it in the last minute, as an adjustment in our itinerary in NYC, but it worked out well.

    El Hotel es muy acogedor, limpio y tranquilo. El servicio de limpieza tienen A, empleados amables. En cambio en el "Front Desk" no tienen personal que hablen español, cosa que en lo personal considero muy importante. Cuando el idioma ingles del cliente no es muy fluido surgen inconvenientes y se tardan en resolver. Las empleadas que nos tocaron no fueron muy servicial, pues tuvimos un percance y no tuvieron empatía hacia nosotros que nuestro idioma ingles no es muy fluido.

    I can’t believe Hilton would even have their name on the Hampton Inn! It is beyond rundown. You had to body check to open the room door, then the deadbolt wouldn’t lock from the inside. It was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve been on in years. The TVs were sporadically working (I overheard many complaints that these were not working at all in many rooms). There were broken parts in the room and pillows had blood or pen stains. While they advertised a workout room, it had no weights, only a couple very old cardio pieces. The staff was completely rude and curt with anyone asking questions or voicing a complaints. Truly my worst experience at a Hilton property. Avoid this location at all costs!

    The breakfast was really good and abundant. Every day they had different options! There were many bakery items, eggs, bacon or sausage (depending on the day), potatoes, cereal bar, mini waffles, yogurt, different juices, coffee, tea and fruits (apple and banana) What I am always concerned with was the smell in the room, specially in older hotels, but here, there was no smell at all! They allowed us to leave our luggage before the check in time and after our check out.

    First of all, the room was not properly cleaned. As soon as we got in, we noticed a couple of body hairs on the floor of the bathroom and inside the tub — clearly left behind from a previous guest. That was really unsettling and made us question the overall cleanliness of the room. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning in the room. This made our stay very uncomfortable, especially during the warmer parts of the day and night. It felt stuffy and hard to relax or sleep properly. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that it has a good location. It’s close to restaurants, shops, and some main attractions, which made getting around convenient. But unfortunately, that alone doesn’t make up for the lack of basic cleanliness and comfort. For the price we paid, I expected a much better experience. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless the hotel addresses these issues seriously.
