Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and excellent location, particularly close to MSG. However, there are consistent complaints about thin walls leading to noise disturbances, small room sizes, and extra charges for parking and booking through third-party sites.

Location is great, near to almost every major visiting places. Staff is not helpful and really arrogant.

Great location, helpful staff, clean rooms Noisy neighbors on Saturday night ruined what would have otherwise been a quality stay. Room soundproofing needs work.

Location Room wasn’t ready at 4.15 when we went to check in …check in is from 3pm
- 4.5/5
The room was modern and comfortable. Good lighting and bathroom. Plenty of space for a two person stay. The hotel has a great rooftop view of the empire state building. There is no water fountain on the floor, and the air conditioning is quite loud at night.

Construction forever
- 5/5
Great property. Great service and location.
- 5/5
This Hyatt was a find. It's close to Penn Station and to Murray Hill which is what we wanted. The room had just been renovated and was lovely. Construction on side made elevator use somewhat problematic but that will soon be over. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful overnight stay despite the fact that there was construction going on in the building. The spaces that we occupied were in great condition. The staff was great and the bartender Mo provided excellent service.
- 5/5
Clean room and helpful staff really spacious too with great location
- 5/5
Check in simple, friendly and quick. Hotel's website clearly stated renovations were underway and we were reminded by staff at check in. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Small cafe bar area; limited menu but food was excellent and bar staff wonderful. Great location.
- 4/5
The construction noise in the lobby was annoying and limited areas where we could sit and relax prior to going out to explore. The staff was generally helpful and friendly, but never got back to us about some request (early checkin, extra towels, etc.)
- 3/5
The good thing about this hotel is the location. Everything else is blah. Hotel is under construction and didn’t she a warning about this when I booked. One elevator wasn’t working on certain days. Terrace wasn’t opened. Not sure if it’s because the season hasn’t started yet. Was informed that they had a discounted option for transfer to the airport at check out after I head already booked an uber. Information would have been appreciated at check in.
- 5/5
Hotel is currently under renovation, however, does not impact. You stay at all rooms are very quiet and comfortable and large for new york city.I wish there was a better light and mirror for makeup in the bathroom. But other than that, ten out of ten
- 1/5
Too much partying.

Perfect location for. Shopping
- 2/5
There was total construction going on. In upper floors Floors 13. 12. We were on 10!! Hammers, drills. and also in floor 2. Using the elevator for said construction- one elevator totally assigned to the construction and the other also used by the construction crew. Only two elevators total. The construction would start at 9 am and end at 4 pm. Noise !!!! And a big line and wait for the elevator. Expedia did not advise that this construction was taking place. I guess because of the construction this Hyatt hotel is extremely limited. Don’t know if areas were being fixed but it had a tiny lobby and an area that was bar, restaurant together very small. But the worst part was that the staff, instead of being understanding was always on the defensive. We had 3 rooms.
- 5/5
No indication online that hotel was under construction. Overall, wonderful stay! Nice and clean rooms, And great staff! Good area to stay in, had good amentities

This hotel was clean and staff were responsive (I asked for extra pillows, and they were delivered within minutes). It is also a good location close to shopping, Madison Square Garden and the Moynihan Train Station. We also found some good restaurants nearby (and late-night pizza).
- 5/5
Staff were very professional and helpful. Rooms were clean. Very nice hotel
- 5/5
Everything was perfect.
- 5/5
Clean nice room
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 4/5
Room was clean but small
- 3/5
Ok place unhelpful staff
- 2/5
Location is great. Rooms are clean but bathrooms are dated. Our room had the loudest heater that kept us up at night (avoid room 905). And my son’s shoes (~$130) disappeared from the room - the manager said he would get back to us but still no update.
- 5/5
Only thing I would suggest is to have complimentary coffee/ tea especially when its so cold out.
- 5/5
Great staff and location.
- 3/5
The front desk staff was great. The cleaning staff was a little off putting. Our bathroom had hair in the shower, toilet and the floor when we walked in. We could tell it wasn’t cleaned well. There was a sticker from a child on the floor of the bathroom when we walked in also. The free drink tokens were kind of a waste, we couldn’t even get beer. Location was good.
- 5/5
Check in was wonderful with token for a free drink. Hotel was clean and close to the subway and close walking distance to major stores and attractions.
- 5/5
The room was clean and staff was so friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff was very nice.
- 5/5
We only expend one night but we love it specifically the bathroom nice and clean.
- 5/5
This was the perfect hotel for our weekend getaway. Conveniently located near a bunch of food and attractions. Public transportation is very close. Good size room with an amazing view of the empire state building. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Room was great, just need more storage! Little tight in that area. Otherwise, great hotel. Location is perfect for tourists. Great little hotel bar.
- 1/5
Ceiling in bathroom fell thru while i was showering
- 4/5
Our stay at the Hyatt Herald Square was fantastic. The room was spotless so bad it was extremely comfortable. Jefferson greeted us when we first came in was very courteous and kind we would’ve given it a five star, however, apply check out we receive the bill which said our valley parking was 95 and we were totally going to be 85 not including the charging fee do our EV. which could not be charged our vehicle anyway because we did not have the correct accessory for it otherwise I would say it was a very lovely stay and we would stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was perfect!
- 3/5
The staff was courteous. I found the room to be clean but feel crowded since the bed was so huge. My expectations being NY were not high and thus were met. Location for us being on foot was perfect and everthing was 1/2 mile to 1 1/2. We felt safe which was also very important. Also to add it was a straight shot down from Penn station which made a 15 min. Walk to the hotel. If we returned to NY I would recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Fabulous staff at check-in!
- 5/5
Clean room. Great view of Empire State Building. Perfect for our 1 night stay.
- 4/5
The room was clean and stocked with water.
- 4/5
Everything was great but disappointing that room service is difficult and bar closes early.
- 4/5
Clean functional room. Convenient to trains.
- 5/5
clean, great bed, great location
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly helpful staff
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with perfect location. The rooftop was breathtaking. Gorgeous view of Empire State building from rooftop and from our room too. Staff were wonderful, we definitely like to come back.
- 5/5
Room was clean, no complaints
- 4/5
Clean room and friendly service
- 4/5
Didn't do breakfast. Great location, very good staff. Pretty good room.
- 3/5
Interesting hotel, and not in a good way, as it says only Hyatt in the name, but it isn't a Hyatt as one would expect. It is more a Hyatt Place as it was formerly a Holiday Inn (a fancy Holiday Inn now).
- 5/5
Just make sure people outside of the hotel aren’t too close to the hotel so it can look safer
- 5/5
The location and staff are amazing. The room/bed was very comfortable. I had paid more for a hotel nearby and booked this when my flight canceled. I wish I had stayed here throughout the entire trip.
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Staff were nice and professional. Room was clean. No free breakfast. Hotel in Korea town, which has more homeless than before and secondhand smoke of cigarettes and marijuana was horrible.
- 1/5
Charged the bottle water in the room, when they told you it free. So scam
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
Clean. Great location. No good desk -- Only flat surface had uncomfortable bench to sit on to do work on computer. Also Shower had no hand held and leaked water.
- 4/5
Adequate but tired and small with no amenities on a boring block. Close to the train though!
- 4/5
Really really great location. The subway stop (34th Herald) is so close - from there we often only needed one train! Yankee stadium was 22 min away, Brooklyn was close, Chinatown. Perfect location. My only grip was the strange modular setup in the room that really couldn’t hold or fit anything. Otherwise beds comfortable and shower fine.
- 5/5
Great location near Empire State Building. Valet parking. Artfully appointed. All the amenities. Nice on-site dining. Friendly helpful staff.
- 5/5
Loved the staff especially their bartender. Room was clean and comfortable. They had a beautiful rooftop view, with a Relaxing lounge set up. Enjoyed my stay tremendously
- 3/5
This is a shame because otherwise I liked the hotel and thought the staff was fantastic.
- 3/5
Was okay
- 5/5
Wow what a gem of a hotel. Perfect location near to subway stations, around the corner from the Empire State Building, Macy's, restaurants etc. BUT........ what is amazing is the view from the rooftop bar of this hotel! Just perfect. Been to NY 3 times and this location was the best.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
Spacious clean room
- 5/5
Wonderful boutique hotel close to everything but not so much in the mix like Times Square. Professional and friendly staff. I’d definitely come back.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
I know this hotel had some bad reviews about the elevators in the past, but during our stay both were in service and super fast. The hotel itself is very well maintained, with cozy, quiet rooms and a beautiful rooftop to enjoy. The location couldn’t be better—right in the perfect spot for exploring the city. We loved every moment of our stay and will definitely be coming back, both to see Taion and to enjoy more of this amazing city!
- 3/5
Staff was very very nice. Rooftop bar was nice. Again old and dated furniture but staff was nice.
- 5/5
A comfortable and safe place, 2 minutes walking to KTown and 7 to NY Penn Station. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again when we’re back in NYC.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, in a good location.
- 2/5
Bad overall
- 5/5
Comfortable room, close to restaurants, shopping and subway.
- 4/5
Bon emplacement, propre, beau roof top.
- 1/5
Just avoid this property
- 4/5
Great location to Penn station and subways. Very nice staff and service including rooftop bar. Room is efficiently organized but not overly spacious.
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
This was very close to Empire State Building
- 5/5
Jefferson the Front Desk Manager was truly amazing at checkout /Check in . He checked in a few time to make sure all was good ! Great stay!
- 4/5
The rooms are a bit worn down but overall great and even got a birthday card from the team which was lovely
- 4/5
It was an okay experience staying here.
- 4/5
Return 2 night stay for fun in NYC. Room was great. Comfortable w/ fridge and bottles of water appreciated. The "amenities" fee was certainly not worth it for 2 bottles of water though. The roof bar did not open until after our show rez departure time on night one and was closed for a private event the next night. Was not informed of any other "amenities" until I asked at checkout or I may have used them. Also did not love the duvet btwn 2 sheets and no fitted sheets method of making the bed b/c inevitably the 3 layers come untucked or misaligned and the whole bed is a mess. Still for 2 nights it was tolerable and generally clean.
- 5/5
Great room and location for the price
- 5/5
This place is amazing! It’s close to everything and walkable. I will definitely stay here again
- 3/5
Small tidy hotel, however service is poor. Would not recommend eating here, the so called restaurant is small and service is very slow / poor. I requested a late check out (3pm) which they charge for but have zero flexibility on this, even if you offer to pay. At 2:58pm I had someone knocking on the door asking me to vacate. The outdoor bar facing the Empire State building is nice, however the bar is not open every day and when it is finding a seat can be challenging.
- 5/5
Great space and great amenities
- 5/5
The walking distance to restaurants and other attractions was very accessible
- 5/5
Great 👍
- 5/5
An amazing location at the heart of Koreatown where you can gind great dining and shopping. Furthermore if you go to the rooftop you can enjoy incredible dinning experience with the most beautiful view to the Empire State Building.
- 3/5
Hidden fees were unexpected plus a $95 parking fee
- 1/5
Room wasn’t available until 4pm. Staff’s rude. My drink at the bar was served in a broken glass - when it was showed it was reserved in a used glass with lipstick on.
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
Wasn’t able to check in earlier but the stay wasn’t bad at all.
- 3/5
The property was in great location however only one elevator worked and you spent half of your time waiting to go up and down the elevator. Online it also advertises $10 breakfast however this is not true just for an egg a piece of bread and some bacon it was $20. It also has a nice rooftop however that was not open either for any type of drink or food service.
- 5/5
Great location for Empire State Building and Madison Square Gardens, but literally everything is walkable distance. The hotel is clean and quiet, it really is a great location, venue, and price.
- 5/5
It’s a great place to stay
- 4/5
Amazing location!
- 4/5
Nice stay, but very bad view.
- 3/5
It was pretty average
- 5/5
Safe and clean
- 5/5
Stayed on the second floor and it was the quietest hotel experience ever. Superb location. Nice staff. Spacious King room with extra seating. Would stay again.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
The host checked me in was amazing. Ppl like that are hard to come by. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name but he was on shift 13 June around 4pm
- 5/5
I liked how quiet and peaceful it was, the vibes upon entering were welcoming and nice. Loved the patience of the staff members, also the room was so clean and there were no issues
- 5/5
Nice atmosphere, courteous helpful staff, dining options, surroundings
- 2/5
Overall I am disappointed this was our experience. I brought my young cousin with me to celebrate her graduation and birthday for the first time in NYC. I will need to do considerable research before I ever stay at this location in the future.
- 5/5
Nice view from the terrace, good location
- 5/5
Excellent!!!!
- 4/5
You get what you pay for. Great for a few nights since you’re probably not going to be spending much time in the hotel. Hotel gyms aren’t known for being particularly well stocked but this was the sparsest I’ve ever seen. Took a while for a room to open up but this is pretty much standard for most hotels in Manhattan
- 4/5
One elevator is a big problem
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Second time i have stayed and outside of the fact only one elevator with a very nice notice posted it is a great place.
- 5/5
One of the places in Manhattan where for sure we’ll stay again.
- 3/5
Was good little staycation but one of the elevators were not working so it was only one elevator to go up and down for all guests and staff. Room was tiny
- 5/5
Convenient to everything
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Location is nice. Easy walk to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.
- 1/5
My check in was supposed to be at 3pm I was not able to check in until 6:30 pm.

The location was perfect walking distance to many places ! We loved how small it was ☺️

All was good

- 5/5
Staff were really helpful and polite. Room was beautifully laid out, we had everything we needed for 1 nights stay.
- 5/5
Had an amazing time there this week and the bartender last night was so nice and polite!
- 4/5
Super great location. They let us leave our bags there all day too. Plus they have an amazing roof top you have to check out. The only things we didn’t love was just one elevator worked and they charge a $28 resort fee even if you don’t use any of the amenities. But overall great place to stay.
- 2/5
The AC in the room didn’t work, so we were miserably hot and didn’t sleep. I did call the front desk and they sent someone to look at it while we were gone, but it didn’t seem to fix anything. Rooftop is cool, but bar wasn’t open so we couldn’t take advantage. Bed was very old feeling, like you could feel the springs poking you. I definitely do not thing this place lives up to what I expect from a Hyatt, and think we absolutely overpaid. The area is convenient to things, but overall kind of dingy. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would absolutely never stay there again.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Blah
- 3/5
The service and the hotel itself was . The room however was very cramped. This area of New York is under a great deal of construction and not very enjoyable to walk around in.
- 4/5
I wouldn’t recommend this property until the second elevator comes back online. The project started in January . To have a property with 19 floors of rooms and to rely on one elevator is crazy. We were there when the elevator broke down and walking up more than 10 flights is tiring. The room is small(to be expected) being in Manhattan, but clean. The staff were friendly and responsive.
- 4/5
The room we stayed in was labeled as deluxe. It was a very nice standard room with a terrible view. Not deluxe. Staff was courteous and helpful. One of the two elevators was not operating causing long wait time for each ride up or down. The property is otherwise well maintained and clean. It is very nicely located near herald square and koreatown.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
The Hotel staff were friendly and kind. Location of the hotel is really great.
- 1/5
One of the el3vators was not not working. This should have been disclosed upon booking. It tooks us too long everytime we wanted to go up or down. 15 to 20mins to make it up to your room or out of the hotel.
- 4/5
The hotel was OK, hotel staff were nice, one of two elevators was out of service so at certain times of the day it could take 5 to 10 minutes to get an elevator
- 5/5
Would definitely stay here again! Love the rooftop with great view of Empire State Building
- 4/5
Great place to stay in NYC - central and not crazy expensive. Only one elevator was working which is was the 3 stars on property conditions - other than that it was great!
- 1/5
I did not like the room layout, too small and beds too low to ground hurt backs
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean hotel. Only issue was 1 elevator was down whole time we were there
- 5/5
views of the Empire State Building for guests to enjoy. Walk in any direction for amazing shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here!
- 5/5
Everything is perfect
- 5/5
Great location. Nice rooftop patio. We love that they have 2 queen beds but the room is a little small with no sitting area. Staff were polite and friendly. Wished there was coffee in the lobby in the morning. Also there was a liquor store beside the hotel if you wanna take some beer or wine to the rooftop patio. We would stay there again.
- 1/5
Only 1 elevator was working and they started doing construction with drilling and banging at 6:30AM
- 5/5
They have treats to the customer every afternoon.
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and location, staff was excellent
- 4/5
Clean, older but well maintained hotel located in the southern perimeter of Manhattan's K-town; convenient location, walking distance from Penn Station & local subway lines, a few blocks from the ESB; rooms are clean but small, decent but low platform style beds with protruding wooden frame corners (watch your shins!). WARNING: refridgerator is housed in a cabinet directly above the center nightstand. The corners of the cabinet are pointed & sharp. I accidentally bumped my head into one of the corners. Fortunately, I sustained only a minor cut & bruise but it could've been much worse. The cabinet hangs low so it is very susceptible to head/face injury. Very poorly designed and management should consider removing/relocating it. Stayed only 1 night. Walls are thin but quiet street. Bathroom is updated & clean, nice shower & good water pressure. Free coffee/tea & cookies in the lobby. Price was reasonable considering inflated Manhattan hotel rates/value.
- 4/5
The staff was great!!
- 5/5
Would highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay here again. Great location, clean, with great rooftop area & nice, friendly, welcoming staff.
- 5/5
Good location, walkable to many things and subway lines. Very clean and helpful staff.
- 5/5
My 1st time to NYC and definitely will be back!
- 5/5
Friendly staff & Clean!!!
- 5/5
Great stay, staff were friendly and extremely helpful, the hotel is a prime location for visitors walking distance to many of the major attractions
- 4/5
Check in was late. Staff was very nice. Elevator is slow. get a room on a lower floor if you can. Good location
- 5/5
Good location near Penn Station. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Would stay again.
