Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, particularly its proximity to the Moulin Rouge and public transportation. The staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. However, guests frequently complain about the noise, both from the street and within the hotel, and the lack of air conditioning. The cleanliness of the hotel is generally well-regarded, but some guests have issues with the comfort of the beds and the quality of the bathrooms.

This is the Best Location in town. Walkable to popular attractions. Amazing view of the Empire State Building. We’ve stayed at many places in New York. Mid and high range, multiple neighborhoods, but Virgin is my Fav!!!!
- 4/5
Only thing we were not happy with was the use of the amenities as hotel guests. We had free access to the pool in the morning only, then had to pay after 12pm with a reservation for loungers. This was very disappointing as we already paid quite an amount for the stay itself. The privacy feature in our room was not functional, we advised housekeeping upon checking in but it was never fixed.

amazing stay! amazing vibe! thank you so much
- 3/5
Pros: Air conditioning was great. Room was comfortable. Restaurant and server at the pool were super nice and helpful. Cons: front desk staff not awesome. Elevators were awful. No ice or water on my floor. Surcharges for the pool after 12:00. $50 for the lounger and a min $50 food and beverage charge which wasn’t hard to achieve since each drink is 20 bucks. Asked for late checkout when I arrived but apparently front desk staff neglected to put that in the system. When I inquired the night before checkout I was rudely told not possible. The facilities were adequate but there are warmer hotels in NYC that make you feel like a guest instead of an imposition. Probably won’t be staying here again.

A great property in an amazing location! Room was clean, modern, and had the best view of any hotel I’ve stayed at in NYC. I took off one star because the check-in process was a nightmare and most of the staff I interacted with seemed like they didn’t want to be there. The waitress I felt with in the restaurant spent more time on her phone than she did actually helping out the customers. Other than that I loved the property and would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
The hotel in general was absolutely beautiful and the staff and Midtown location were great for this trip. The elevator system is a little tricky!
- 5/5
Such a cute hotel ! Love the red fridge in my room and also the bathroom.
- 5/5
One of the highlights was the incredible view of the Empire State Building from our room. Despite being in the heart of the city, the room was quiet and peaceful at night, which made for a great night’s sleep. We also loved being able to control the room temperature to our comfort. The amenities were nice overall, although coffee cups were not replenished daily and we had to request them a few times. Other than that, everything was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great vibe, great location, amazing ESB view, good food
- 5/5
Great location, great lounges, pool and balconies. Good size rooms for nyc. Answered all our needs. I’d go back.
- 2/5
Location great. Lack lustre staff. Rooftop bar average. Room acceptable but very basic. Lift terrible
- 4/5
Bar was great and service was top tier. NYC is expensive naturally and manhattan even more but I think I got what I paid for
- 5/5
Overall, we had a great stay. Check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient. The rooftop bar was fun, the DJ created a great atmosphere. Aside from a disappointing experience with the valet parking service, everything else exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean, well maintained.
- 5/5
Nice hotel in an excellent location.
- 4/5
Staff was fantastic and location is good. We had a view of Empires. Facilities were noisy, had to turn off refrigerator and AC. Layout was awkward, even though we took a bigger room, still there was no space.
- 5/5
I’m a frequent traveler to New York and this has become my favorite in every season. The location, staff, amenities, competitive rates and room size are unbeatable in my opinion. The pool experience during the summer months is unique and spectacular. Highly recommend. Just be sure to save a room for me!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel tons of fun ..Great staff..amazing drinks so well kept as well

Loved the hotel, loved the location. Our room was perfect and SO clean. Amazing power shower too. No room service
- 1/5
Decent size room and felt clean. Slow elevators On my first night the ceiling started leaking and I was moved to a new room Able to hear other guests in neighbouring rooms
- 5/5
First time staying in a Virgin and first time in NYC! It was a 10/10 experience at the Virgin Hotel! I will say the elevator situation can get a bit frustrating at times if you have things to get to and plans but other than that it was a perfect experience!!! My view of the Empire State Building and entire city for sunrise and sunset were unmatched!!

Great hotel, great location would stay there again.

Excellent stay. Outside of the water not always being hot fantastic
- 2.5/5
The bed was comfortable and location was decent. They don't state clearly before booking that the pool is off limits to kids after 12pm. There was nothing to make me feel like I was in a 5 star hotel.

First and foremost, these rooms are much bigger than your typical hotel rooms in Manhattan. This was a major plus. Super conveniently located. We did not take advantage of the amenities or the restaurants. The one call out that was disappointing housekeeping showed up at 4:30 in the afternoon after we have been out all day. We had an event to go to and told the woman we would be leaving in 15 minutes, but would love her to come back. First, it’s pretty late to do room service at 4:30 but we were happy to have the room serviced new towels, etc. she never came back at all when we got back to our room around 10 PM it was disappointing to see. We had no fresh towels in the room had not been touched. I plan on sharing this with the hotel as well..

Clean room, could be better cleaning the floor (sweeping). The bed was hard but clean, the curtains didn’t work and were coming off the tracks so we couldn’t open up our curtains and shades. Everything else was ok.
- 5/5
Location was terrific. Outdoor lounge was wonderful.

I’m writing this review while I’m still here, waiting to check out this has been one of the best hotels stays I’ve had in a big city. The location of the hotel is great, the rooms are spacious and comfy I had an amazing view from my room of Empire State Building. I would definitely stay again and I’m so sad to leave nyc. Will defo consider more Virgin hotels around the world. It was great experience and staff here are super helpful and nice. My fave part of the room is vanity area and bathroom, a girls dream ! Perfect for getting ready and enough space to share with your friend or partner.

Hotel room needs a renovation. Bed uncomfortable and bedding very shabby. Shades were ridiculous. Staff very nice. Elevators work well. Gym equipment very limited. Wouldn’t stay here again.
- 3/5
I was however very dissatisfied with the comfort of my bed. For the price I paid for 1 night (over $600) I did not feel as though I got the true value for which I had paid for.
- 5/5
The location was fantastic and the hotel it self was very clean, it smelled good and the staff were very friendly and kind. The rooms were spacious and the views were spectacular. NA

We were initially impressed by the colorful decor and imaginative playing-card room key, but the experience quickly became disappointing. The first room’s layout was very impractical — we had to walk past the sinks, toilet, and shower before reaching the bedroom. We had booked for 3 adults with 2 queen beds, but were later told the beds were actually smaller “full” beds. The room itself was also extremely cramped, with barely enough space for luggage. The bathroom design made little sense: only the middle mirror had lighting, but it was the only one without a sink underneath. The two mirrors above the sinks had no lighting, making shaving and grooming awkward. There was also only 1 hook each on the shower and toilet doors, leaving inadequate space for towels or clothes.Since we were staying 6 nights, this setup felt untenable. After discussing the issues, manager Abraham kindly upgraded us to a larger suite, which was a major improvement. KJ/Karma from the bell staff was also excellent. The upgraded suite was more comfortable but still had issues: only 1 large coffee cup and 1 espresso cup were provided, the sliding bathroom door scraped the floor, the top cupboard shelf was dusty enough to dirty clothes, and the bathroom sink remained clogged for 5 nights despite being reported. The elevators were another frustration — despite 6 lifts, we often had to wait through several full ones before finding space.
- 5/5
The rooms were Very clean.. the window view from the 34th floor was as like no other. The staff was extremely accommodating. It took a moment to figure out how to control the elevators. But over all a WONDERFUL experience. I will definitely stay here again. 10 out of 10
- 5/5
Clean, sleek design with spacious rooms and excellent service! Got a room upgrade with wonderful view of the city, and location is well connected with bus and subway lines. The 3rd floor restaurant and bar, 39th floor roof top cocktail bar, gym etc is all excellent. Wifi is solid, amenities, shower, all very good. No free water in rooms but restaurant and gym is stocked.
- 2/5
Terrible bed and linen. Staff are very unhelpful. Not worth the 4 stars.

- 4/5
The location of the property is great. Located in NoMad you're a short walk to Madison Park or Times Square or several Subway options too. It's also about a five minute walk to Penn station for easy access to Newark Airport or long distance trains. Location is one of the main reasons I like this hotel. I did bring the slow shower drain to the attention of the front desk and it took to days for them to address and fix. So that left me with two days of standing in shower filth, For the price of this hotel, this isn't something I should have to deal with. I'm also vehemently opposed to resort fees in hotels, particularly when the amenities they claim to be for are either not used by me or not available to me. For example, the pool doesn't open until May 15th. This was too bad. But really, just include this fee in the price of the room. Resort fees are truly obnoxious. They're the baggage fees of the hotel world. Ultimately, I would stay at this property again, but they need to keep a closer eye on the smaller details because this hotel is charging the prices of a 4+ star hotel, but the rooms are headed toward 3 star level.

Location was wonderful. The room was clean. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Everdeen restaurant was a little worn. Staff there very nice but it was $$$ for quality of the food. I was upset that hotel didn’t have umbrellas for guests to use. We had a day of torrential rain and although we had raincoats we needed more. Only umbrellas available were for purchase.

Amazing staff! Everyone we dealt with went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. Great location in midtown. Easy walk to subway. Will stay again!

The property is relatively new but the smell of Pine-sol permeates the air like a much cheaper property. Knicks and stains visible throughout.

Nice and courteous staff but a bit forgetful when asking for things like ice or holding the onions and tomatoes in the salmon bagel at breakfast. Also I asked for pillows and slippers in advance of my arrival but it seems that it will only be ordered after check in which I don’t understand- and I worked in a hotel. I was moved to another room because the first room I was given was not ready and the request for slippers and pillows was not transferred to it. I didn’t want to bother following up.

The room had broken blinds that were never fixed, leaving us fully exposed to workers across the building. Zero privacy, terrible sleep. Shower barely worked and the tub wouldn’t drain. Room service was a disaster—forgot part of the order, showed up an hour later with the rest, then charged us twice. Valet is a complete mess: nowhere to pull up, no in/out privileges, and $100/day is absurd. Only positive was the gym, and that doesn’t make up for everything else. Absolutely not worth the price. Would not stay again.

Great stay. Had an amazing view. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Would definitely stay again. Not a fan of the elevator setup, but outside that, loved the stay!

Amazing service and friendly staff. Such a nice location and the views from our rooms were stunning. I highly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Great location and decent room in terms of size and furnishings. Clean and functional bathroom
- 5/5
The double room was quite large for NYC standards. It’s a great location off of 6th Ave so I’d say it was on the quiet side. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed. I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The Staff were amazing, all the Amenities from restaurants, Bars, & pool to room-service -amazing . The Virgin Hotels location is Top Notch, we could almost touch the Empire State Building from our rooms. We got snowed in with flights cancelled and they easily booked a longer stay in the same rooms and managed to keep the original booking price. From checking-in at 10pm for the 2 Suites to having to change out checkout date due to a Snow Storm by 3 days & our new flight out of NYC was at 8pm and The Virgin gave us a late checkout at 2:30pm and stored our Suitcases until we left for the airport at 430. They were/are an amazing staff! The elevator situation is terrible. The only complaint from myself, my wife and the kids traveling w me is - THE ELEVATOR TECHNOLOGY IS TERRIBLE! You have to use your digital key, holding it under the wall mounted elevator touch screen tablet’s room card reader is flawed. With 6 elevators and 2 Elevator Tablet / Readers it is a mess. It’s almost hilarious to walk through the lobby which bottleneck’s at the end of the lobby where you must turn left where 6 elevators are. You immediately see a mountain of people waiting to get to an elevator tablet on the wall to get to their room but, for people that were just checking in and now going to their floor you watch them go through the confusion of how this works because you went through it yourself days earlier when you checked in and even once you think you got it down, Pat you still can sit in front of 6 elevators fighting a touch screen tablet holding your room card under the laser in 300000 different positions and sides trying to get an elevator to open! Going back down was easier lol! You just hit the L

This is a no frills, basic property. The closet is covered with a curtain and the shower and toilet are in the main room- no privacy.

Not worth the rate. Room dirty and smelly halls. No bottle water, not even a bottle water out of ciurtesy, never able to get tv to work- not even thru that app account. Rooms are extra small too. Not worth it.

The best hotel in New York.
- 1/5
Not properly cleaned rooms, half of stuff doesn't work like AC or TV, the toilet seat wasn't installed properly, construction noise from the outside + loud elevator noises. Front desk isn't trustworthy as they told me I can't cancel my stay but Expedia helped me and it was actually possible to cancel it
- 2/5
I loved the location. The hotel rooms I booked a suite and it was definitely not 5 stars. Very disappointed in Virgin. I will never be staying with them again. Suite was dirty rug and couch had multiple stains. The big bottles of shampoo and toiletries were half empty. There was marks on the toilet seat. Some staff completely disconnected to visitors. To many issues to write here I will be calling management and sending them pictures of what my suite looked like.... Good luck

I’m in NYC a lot on business after living there for 20 years. Finding a good hotel at the right price is always tough. This is a hidden gem! Great room, great service, great location. The fitness room is gold star with an awesome view of the Empire State Building. Will definitely book again.

Staff was helpful but the price did not meet the condition of the property. It felt only kind of clean, the shower was not thoroughly cleaned from the previous guest. I will say the wet bar had some nice options so that’s good

Great view, staff super friendly. The restaurant and bar great food. Great stores around and easy to get around.
- 5/5
Clean room and staff was pleasant. Breakfast from the menu was excellent but the breakfast buffet was mid.
- 4/5
The hotel was in an ideal location and we used that as the pivot point for our days out. Hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful - no negative experiences. The pool was a perfect addition and we spent the morning with a sunbathe and a swim. Food was delicious - we ate in the Everdene restaurant and everything was cooked to perfection; to top it off, the scenery of NY skyline was beautiful. I would definitely go back! The only thing which was a shame was that children were not able to use the pool after 11.30am. It would have been nice to come back from a day out and use the pool, especially as it was so hot. However, from an adult point of view, I would like to go back without the kids and enjoy the pool without children, so I do get it. Maybe allowing them to use the pool until 4/5 would be better and then leave to the adults for rest of the evening?
- 2.5/5
Cleanness. 3rd floor interior. 1.False fire alarm at 10:30 PM. (Stuff happens) 2.False information provided by the valet — we were told that the $75 for valet parking included taxes, which it did not. 3.Paid an extra $140 on Booking.com for lunch and dinner, but at check-in we were told that meals were not included. Only $100 was refunded to the account. 4.Incorrect information was given about the dinner serving time. 5. Difficulty using the $100 dinner credit. The staff showed little willingness to assist, and only after my firm request was the food finally delivered to our room.
- 5/5
Location was great and was easy to get an Uber. Food choices around the area was nice. Area was safe. Gym was adequate. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the view from the room as well. Check-in was the only downside. Took 5-10 minutes to check in.
- 4.5/5
Our shower wasn't draining (it was a accessible shower so the water was just over flowing everywhere. We called and asked the front desk if there was a way to fix it and they promised someone would come. But no one ever came. We had to just take very short showers all three days.
- 5/5
We only had breakfast as room service and only on our last day. Coffee and croissants (very dry and brittle) Hours for rooftop bar. It was closed for half our stay.
- 1.5/5
I booked a room online and when I showed up I was told that no rooms were available. I was left without anywhere to stay at 3AM.
- 5/5

Location. We stayed in a corner room with an amazing view from one of the upper floors. The set up for coffee and drinks. And there was not much room to place items down. We probably needed one more small table surface.

Had a very bad experience with dining and room cleanliness even after reporting it 1-2 times during our 3-night stay. The management really doesn't care about your experience.

Breakfast was delicious everyday! Room service was a little slow and sometime forget items. Our bedroom light also would not turn off our last night. But other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- 3/5
We stayed during NYE and bought tickets for the NYE event. We spent almost $300/person and was disappointed. They have only 3 bartenders serving drinks to hundreds people. Food was terrible too. Totally lost money for that.
- 3/5
The room itself was comfortable and the well stocked mini bar (not free) was good. Could have done with another blanket on the bed as the room soon fell cool once the heating was turned off or down. We used a dressing gown. The shower room and dressing area were very spacious but again cool. The showerheads had mould on them and hadn’t been given a thorough clean. The location was good for exploring either on foot or by taxi/uber and the staff were helpful and polite. Might stay here again but not it in winter.
- 5/5
Great location and roof top bar
- 2/5
Awful service. No one ever answered the phone at the front desk. Ordered room service and never received it. Had no way to contact someone about not receiving it because no one answered the phones. I will not be back.
- 5/5
Great location. Good size room with views
- 5/5
Great service, fantastic room and wonderful hotel. Would definitely visit again
- 3/5
Staff wasn’t very friendly or accommodating to requests. Not very helpful. Rooms don’t have a microwave and there’s no way to heat anything on the property. I had an emergency and made a simple request to leave a day early without penalty and the property refused.
- 3/5
The sink was clogged. The front door was damaged. And they charge for water.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a great location, but needs work.
- 3/5
Gorgeous view and great staff
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious with great city views. The location can not be beat.
- 3/5
Me and my sister stayed 11 nights at Virgin Hotels NYC to celebrate our birthdays and Xmas. We were having a good time until we stayed in an empire view chamber room which had several issues. Maintenance response was very slow and we felt that most staff didn’t take our concerns seriously. One exception was Angel, who genuinely listened and made sure engineers came promptly — he was fab! We did receive an upgrade at the end, which was appreciated.

- 5/5
Staff was welcoming, attentive and helpful. Room was clean and spacious (by NYC standards). Toiletries in room were top notch. Street noise is LOUD (on the 8th floor) but this is to be expected in NYC. Bring earplugs or request a high floor to avoid street noise.
- 5/5
Great hotel! Walking distance to Maceys, The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center. Great area. I highly recommend🌟🌟🌟
- 5/5
I love the layout of the rooms and the location is great. I wish they would change the elevator situation because it’s annoying and a little slow. But still I would give 5 stars
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful. They had no issue upgrading our room / view for our anniversary. The room and facility was very clean and views were spectacular. The amenities added value to our stay, and we enjoyed the hotel dining options. The train station was a block away, and major attractions (Rockefeller, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Times Square) were within 5-20 minutes, walking. We did not need a car for our stay. We would highly recommend.

Really beautiful views. Cute room. Location was amazing. Our toilet leaked lol but it was fixed right away. We had an issue with the television it would just turn off -- if the channel didn't work. Snacks are insanely expensive in your mini bar lol. But otherwise very decent.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful even with the smallest concerns
- 5/5
Loved our stay with you all!
- 3/5
The bathroom was a good size, but again you could tell corners had been cut. Small details like the lack of a soft-close toilet seat stood out and made it obvious that the hotel prioritises style over quality. Staff were pleasant enough, but not particularly polished or professional for what is marketed as a five-star hotel. The public spaces were also disappointing, especially the lobby. There was nowhere comfortable to sit while waiting for a taxi, which felt like a strange omission for a hotel of this size and positioning. Overall, this is not a bad hotel, but it is very overpriced for what it offers. I would not consider it 5*, and there are better options in New York at a similar price point.
- 4/5
Helpful staff, good rooms. Avoid the breakfast.
- 4/5
There were a few things I didn’t like about the room. The couch next to our bed had several dirty stains. The little corner piece at the end of the bed just got in the way. The lights!!! OMG I wish there was one main switch to turn them off. So complicated to navigate. We arrived at 3am sure to flight delays and it would have been nice to have complimentary water. The shower didn’t have a switch to turn on the vent. It was freezing out and we turned up the heating, however it made no difference. I don’t think it was working. Regardless I do love the room layout and the other
- 3/5
Bar food was not good
- 5/5
The view from the 28th floor was incredible! The rooms are spacious compared to other hotels in the area. Shout out to Liz for teaching us how to get around and showing us the good food spots.
- 5/5
Rooms were excellent!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing! To the views and the customer service. I would rate this place top notch and best for travel stay
- 5/5
This hotel exceeded my expectations in EVERY way . I am very picky and I am not afraid to admit it. The hotel is quiet and clean. Everyone greeted us were so helpful as it was our first trip to NYC . It's located near wonderful restaurants and a short 3 min walk to the subway. I also splurged and upgraded to a "view room" it was amazing .
- 3/5
Not so good points - very expensive for what we got. The room was small and not at all well designed for privacy. No locks on the toilet or shower areas, which were small so if you knocked the door accidentally they swung open. There was a partition door which, when used, meant one side didn’t have any mirrors, or access to the closet areas. Couldn’t get ready properly if the door was closed, unless you were a couple and didn’t need privacy! Overall, it was fine and we appreciated the location, but wouldn’t stay there again.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Virgin Hotel. I highly recommend the empire view suite. 10 out of 10 recommend will be going back.
- 3/5
$3000 is what you pay for 5 nights in manhattan if you want a view
- 3/5
This hotel has great views, spacious rooms, generous storage, and excellent mini bar. However, the property suffers from excessive neighboring room noise, rude / argumentative staff, and inconsistent housekeeping. The room controls are glitchy. The room count outpaces elevator capacity routinely meaning there are waits. Similarly the on site restiurant for breakfast had an excessive wait even for a party of 1. The common areas are high traffic and show wear. Virgin markets itself as a 5 star property. This does not measure up to many elite properties in Manhattan. It is unlikely I will rebook this property.
- 3/5
shower head did not work room was not quiet! street noise and adjoining rooms made it difficult to sleep Key system for elevator is unnecessarily awkward. Probably won't book this hotel again. Frequent traveler
- 5/5
Fantastic location!
- 5/5
Amenities, room size, view
- 2/5
Staff was fine, room wasn’t clean, ran out of paper products and weren’t replenished. As well, restaurants closed for private events which is fine but other options closed earlier than advertised
- 1/5
We paid £1500 for 4 nights so wouldn’t dispute $9 for the sake of it, but it is more the principal. Room was generally good and a good size but what we expected from an upgraded room. Good views from the 34th floor. Remote did not work but was replaced after two days of asking. LED lights around window also didn’t work. The gentleman who checked us in was nice and helpful but after that the staff’s attitude after that was poor and unhelpful especially on check out. The security looked unprofessional, always on their phone and looked disinterested. Lobby floor was dirty.
- 5/5
Really nice hotel!! def recommend staying here.
- 3/5
It’s just not Virgin standard unless you are used to booking economy with Virgin holidays. The bar was closed for a private event wouldn’t stay again
- 1/5
Elevators had zero buttons inside and out, instead the system was overly complicated, took forever, and was very inconvenient. No explanation or help to assist with new visitors so everyone struggled unless you were a returning guest who previously struggled. Upon entering the room, you are immediately inside the bathroom, & the toilet door has no lock. There were several stains and the coffee table surface had clearly not been cleaned for some time. The curtains did not close all the way so blocking sunlight or having privacy was impossible. Very overpriced food for in room dining.
- 5/5
This hotel was conveniently located in the area I needed. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. My room was cleaned daily, even during the weekend, and fresh towels were plentiful!
- 5/5
Hard to figure out how to get into the room
- 5/5
Good experience
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Fantastic location, only 2 streets away from Penn station. Close to subway stations. Great amenities in room, great view. Very friendly staff at front desk. Would definitely stay again in the future. The only negative was the elevator system was unnecessarily complicated and because of this contributed to some long wait times to access an elevator
- 5/5
Love this hotel. Clean rooms, modern, good price
- 5/5
Thank you for everything
- 3/5
At first we booked a room with an empire view but was very unsatisfied with the size of the room. We upgraded to a suite with a city view due to its availability and size. They were helpful in accommodating early check in although the suite we were initially given was very run down and dirty. There was no help with luggage, or luggage carts. The management was helpful in getting us a cleaner room on a different floor which was nice. Our stay was ok, no complimentary waters/breakfast/soap or pretty much anything at all. Additionally the fridge was more packed with booze than anything non-alcoholic. There is no microwave so say goodbye to any thoughts of leftovers from your nights out. The sheets are very scratchy but the bed was comfortable although it seemed like no matter how many clean sheets we got there was always other guests hair on them. I had no problems with the elevators like other guests had. The shower handle was broken and there was very little hand soap for the bathroom. The location of the hotel was great and seemed to be safe after dark as we didn't have any issues and the housekeepers did an amazing job everyday keeping our room clean! All in all, the staff was very nice, the views on the city side (not empire view) was decent, but the room and amenities was very sparce and I believe was a little overpriced for the amenities and condition. 3/5 stars.
- 1/5
First of all the shower was not working properly it leaked water on the floor when the door was closed secondly I had an alarm in the room go off out of nowhere and kept going off until I called downstairs to let them know that the alarm went off scared me to death thirdly when I left the room it came back I noticed housekeeping half clean the room and yes I have proof of all of this fiscally management that lied instead of they offered me another room number six let's not talk about their staff who when I went down to get breakfast reminded me that I look tired hanging in a way like you Pacific person you look tired you need to go get yourself straight I have told management and I told them for what I paid it will certainly unequivocally not worth the 2,600 I paid and I couldn't even use the shower correctly no I get proper housekeeping it was my first time at a virgin hotel and it certainly will be my last I will never stay at this hotel or his brand again and what makes it so bad is management even acknowledge to the wrong that happened in that room so everybody was on the same page when I asked him to comp for this day that was not acceptable to them and they offered me a free night like I'm going to do that again if you're looking for a fake five star hotel was it traveling with a person with a disabilities and having to charge your scooter near wet water having to put towels down because the water was coming out of the shower give it a two star hotel has that
- 2/5
2 rooms for 4 nights, one of which a grand suite 1bdrm, for over a$1000 a night including fees. we stay in the city frequently and its our first time at Virgin. The room was very disappinting "luxury wise", living rom furniture very simple and well used, no carpet or plants, blinds not electric and 1 did not work well, bathroom mirror light which is a main light source was working on and off (mostly off) and thus the room was darker than should be. All in all look and level of the room is not a 5 star, more like a 3.5 star fixture. NOT worthy of the hefty price. We asked for the mirror to be fixed twice but to no avail. First night at midnight we discovered that we had only one robe (after the shower...) next day we asked for a 2nd one and received it. However in our 4th night, again, we opened the cabinet and there was only one. why? who knows. Coffee: was not stocked daily, and when stocked we only got 2 capsules. Not right for a 5 star obviously. last evening I asked and was brought a few more. We used 2 still waters and 2 sparking waters from the mini bar in the 1st day. WAS not stocked a gain and a loss of revenue for the hotel. One last thing--- arriving on Sunday at noon with 8 pieces. No one was available to help from the van I just carried all myself. Certainly fitting for a motel but not for a 5 star for this price. Front reception lady was very nice and receptive (a positive note). 2nd regular room was fine value wise.
- 5/5
The rooms were really well situated with amazing views of mid town. The staff were really helpful and friendly and room service was on point every day. We highly recommend this hotel for short stays in New York!
- 3/5
Like all nyc rooms it was small but bath area had a great layout. My issue was that there was no hotel lobby to hang and have a drink. There was a restaurant but that was sit down service. Room 1506 had a dramatic and awesome view of empire state bldg and chrysler tower
- 5/5
very convenient, room is very comfortable and friendly staff
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Room was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we checked in they explained how to use the elevator and everything was smooth afterwards. Views from the room were magnificent. We can’t wait to stay here again next year.
- 5/5
Always a GREAT experience with Virgin NYC! Jabari was exceptional!!! Knowledgeable, accommodating, timely and excellent customer service. He was the first welcoming face when I walked through the doors. Virgin you’ve done it again!!! See you soon!
- 5/5
The staff from the front desk to the housekeepers and engineers went out of their way to make our stay perfect.
- 5/5
Fresh, central, stunning views.
- 3/5
Great staff hotel. The rooms are in need of some TLC (loose fixtures, stained upholstery). The rooms had some nice touches like a robe and yoga matt but lacked some basics like a kettle.
- 5/5
this hotel is a perfect place to stay because it’s right in the heart of Midtown. The decor and upbeat vibe is refreshing. The staff couldn’t be better. I had an excellent time and would highly recommend this to anyone. Bravo virgin!
- 2/5
BaTH ROOM SMELLED HORIBLE
- 5/5
This hotel was beautiful. The view from the room was breathtaking. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. Very friendly staff. I loved my stay what a great hotel. Thank you very much
- 5/5
Great staff and greay hotel. Definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Good hotel. Clean room. Nice staff.
- 5/5
Excellent service, clean rooms and amazing views!
- 5/5
Love, love, love this hotel. The only part I disliked was the hotel restaurant, the dinner was horrible and expensive. Like extremely horrible!
- 2/5
The sheets were old and torn, rug was old and torn. Shower smelled really musty and bad. We ended up checking out early.could not find a manager to talk to. expecting Saturday night to be refunded.
- 4/5
Other than that, all staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
This was a work trip, and the level of disrespect was unacceptable. The hotel itself is nice, but the service was terrible. To make matters worse, housekeeping began banging on my door at 8 AM on Monday—even with the privacy light on. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations.
- 5/5
Great app!
- 3/5
Small space
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Clean room, wonderful staff, basic in-room dining options and limited timing.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff at concierge
- 4/5
Late check in. Other small things. Nice hotel though.
- 5/5
Virgin is the Best Service allways. But if you are lucky and have Daniel in the Check in you will find a friend. One of the best experiences in hotels, I arrived so tired and not in the best humor and Daniel make me laugh and have all perfect.
- 5/5
Clean room, great amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Amazing view, staff, and a good location.
- 4/5
Valet parking was nowhere to be found and had to drive around for some time to find nearby parking garage.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious and the view was worth the cost!
- 5/5
We love the hotel. The staff was exceptional. The valet parking cost could be lowered w/o an additional tax and the beds were too soft. Nevertheless we're open to staying again.
- 5/5
The room was stunning, and the view of the Empire State Building was worth every penny. The staff was always just a call away and ready to help. Overall, the experience was a 10/10. 🗽💫
- 5/5
Always a pleasure to stay here. Views are amazing!! And service always great!
- 5/5
Amazing restaurants, very secure hotel. Friendly staff , room was spotless but didn't have a microwave to heat up leftovers from the restaurants. Overall it was a good experience.
- 5/5
Justuce is the GOAT! Can’t even lie, this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. From the customer service to the room to cleanliness to the views, everything was top tier. We never go back to hotels we’ve stayed at, but we will definitely be back to Virgin Hotels!
- 2/5
Also dispose of garbage between 1am - 3.30am and it’s loud. Not sure if it was just our room but the building captures noise and vibrations clearly so you can’t even escape it wearing ear plugs. Service in the restaurant was terrible unfortunately. Room service was also terrible. Had to wait 45 minutes just for them to deliver a tea spoon so we could feed the baby. Promised so much with a free upgrade on arrival, which we really appreciated, but we left extremely disappointed and had a stay that offered us no rest across each of the days we were there.
- 5/5
courteous staff..nice room and restaoruant
- 5/5
Top Hotel!
- 3/5
The bedding was stained … disgusting .
- 2/5
Service was okay, team tried, we had issues with our room (no a/c) so we got moved to a better room after complaining quite a bit but it was quite a process and got moved multiple times.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and welcoming. Beautiful views of the city/Empire State building. Bed was very comfortable. Loved staying here :)
- 4/5
Clean room, wish they
- 5/5
Room was clean for the most part aside from a couple of minor things.
- 5/5
would love to have more water pressure in the shower
- 5/5
I go to the city a lot - this was the best experience I’ve had.
- 5/5
Minute & could not be more pleased. The staff was excellent, the room was perfect - if you’re looking for something less than 10 minutes from Broadway this is it.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
Awesome hotel in a great location. Had a wonderful stay on all levels. Staff are excellent and rooms really good.
- 5/5
Yes, everything was so perfect
- 5/5
Friendly staff with great service all around. Rooms are comfortable and clean!
- 4/5
I loved the room. It was spacious and it was cosy with lovely As x day
- 3/5
The AC in my room wasn't working. I mentioned it to front desk but nothing was done.
- 5/5
Was excellent
- 5/5
Greeted with a nice check-in, room was clean and a nice setup for our family. Beds are truly doubles (not queens) so not super spacious but adequate. Restaurant was nice and stylish and the location was good amid shopping and restaurants in Nomad.
- 2/5
Windows and view were great - other the that the rest of the experience was sub par. Drapes were stuck obstructing 33% of the view, phone only worked in speaker mode, on of the lights flashed on and off constantly, the shower was significantly clogged, the roof top bar was closed along with pool (which I understand). Lots of potential but definitely substandard
- 5/5
Clean room and quite spacious for New York which I loved and lots to do in the actual hotel itself. Great location near a lot of shopping and restaurants but not busy like Times Square which is great.
- 5/5
An incredible stay at the Virgin NYC. We had the sky Chamber empire view on the 29th. It’s was incredible. Best view. Sunrise every morning. Room was super spacious with a seperate dressing and shower room. Views from the roof were insane and the west view for sunset is great. Riff Raff Bar is fun late night. Hotel staff were attentive and always happy. Couldn’t recommend enough. Great value for the price. I searched over 30 hotels for this trip. Didn’t regret at all.
- 3/5
Not Five stars
- 3/5
Requested an early check in days before but did not get into the room until 4PM. It was a bit frustrating because check in stated at least 3PM. Not really worth it for the price although the view was beautiful. No trash bags in trash cans, no fresh towels 2/4 nights. Just not the best experience overall.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel room
- 5/5
Well appointed comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great location.
- 4/5
The room was super small, but we are in Manhattan so it is kind of expected but again not in a 5 star hotel. In general we like Virgin Hotels but this one wasn’t good.
- 5/5
Everything was clean. Staff was excellent.
- 4/5
Great city views from the room, Hotel has a pool but you'll need to make a reservation ahead of time so don't forget! Friendly staff, great spa services, and great dining and bar areas! all in all a good location!
- 5/5
Had a great NYC trip and we love staying at Virgin Hotel!
- 2/5
Tv didn’t work, then shower head didn’t work, then coffeemaker didn’t work, we didn’t get coffee a couple days, , elevator had problems…kept passing up our floor, the work out room was ok but a treadmill needed fixing …no recumbent bike. Was told my massage was a special for $99 n got charged $130 …turns out there was no special…massage was good but steam room not steamy
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and well decorated and all the staff members were lovely. I had a huge portrait of Bruce Springsteen on the glass of my bathroom door which was so cool. Highly recommended hotel.
- 2/5
They gave me an upgrade the day after but it was very inconvenient to have all these changes for a short stay.
- 4/5
Hated the elevators! This was probably my biggest gripe about the hotel. I get what they were trying to do with the fancy iPad style floor selector, but it was such a pain in the ass especially the first time. I also realized I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like them, every time I rode the elevator everyone inside would complain about how terrible they were. After selecting a floor and you were assigned a elevator sometimes you would have to wait a really long time just for it to pick you up and they were also very hot inside. Besides that the room and the views were spectacular me and my girlfriend had a great time at this property cool rooftop bars and pool right in the center of nyc. Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Excellent location with incredible accommodations and amenities. Will certainly be back to enjoy it again.
- 2/5
Took hotel over and hour to bring up food that was already set to go. No way to reheat. Fire alarm went on at 1am. They said it was by accident. Other hotel guest for fashion week were extremely loud
- 5/5
Frankie provided exceptional service throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to accommodate our room arrangements and was incredibly helpful and attentive to our needs.
- 4/5
Nice place elevators take a bit to figure out
- 3/5
The hotel es beatiful is 5 star but the rooms are small and I had a water leak on the ceiling all the night. Did not let me sleep well
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Loved the view and terrace
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my sta
- 5/5
10/10!
- 2/5
When this hotel was new everything worked but now things re getting broken and they re not being repaired. The electrical in room 3013 did not work. This meant no phone not tv not air conditioning or heating. I had to walk to the lobby at 2 in the morning to let the staff know. In the morning when I was checking out, I told the front desk lady about the room condition and she did not care.
- 5/5
Great service, in a great area with plenty of restaurants nearby when it comes to nighttime, very secured and safe entrance to your room with privacy and an amazing view if you get a high level floor room. The bed was cozy, pillows very comfortable the sheets were cold and fresh all night long best sleep I’ve had. Would highly recommend and be back!
- 4/5
Staff were so helpful and the views from the room were incredible. Only issue we had was the fire alarm going off on 3 occasions one being around 6.30am.
- 5/5
Very good
- 2/5
Disappointing hotel and clearly not worth the price. the staff are unenthusiastic and unfriendly an the service is poor, particularly at the reception and at breakfast - where we had to wait a long time for a table and then for the food and were told that it was not possible to have hot water on one day and a boiled egg on the next. The bedrooms are tiny and the furniture and decor is modern and clean but cheap. The pool was very cold even in August and children can't use it after 11am. Overall a very poor choice for us.
- 5/5
Such a lovely stay
- 4/5
It was just an OK experience. Hotel is in great location and has nice amanities however the check in process and front desk team were underwhelming. I’m used to a more elevated service at Virgin facilities .
- 2/5
Well I check my credit card statement today and they charged the fee anyway! This hotel is foul. I’d never stay here again. I was coming from an extended stay at the Thompson Central Park and that hotel was phenomenal! Service was amazing, rooms were beautiful and service perfect!
- 1/5
Room looked beat up, not cleaned thoroughly. Very loud at night, walls are thin. Staff at front desk and security were not friendly at all. I couldn't wait to check out of this hotel, definitely not a 4 star or above.
- 3/5
During my stay, the fire alarm went off around 3:00am with an announcement, which was pretty disruptive and unexpected.
- 3/5
Pictures are better than it looks
- 5/5
Best view but pool was not ready
- 4/5
The socket for the hairdryer wasn’t working. I have noticed that too late and had to sleep with wet hair, very uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Location excellent, service excellent, amenities excellent, rooms excellent. The only thing i would change is the room's light switches are complex, took me two days to understand what does what. I still give 5 of 5
- 1/5
The smoke/fire alarm went off multiple times between 6 am and 10:30 am (5 times+). Each time, a long-winded announcement followed where they said they were investigating. Followed by another announcement that it was a false alarm. I booked the hotel to rest after a night out in the city. However, it would have been easier to rest on a bench in Moynihan Station. I will not be staying here again.
- 5/5
Great experience. First time to property. Was apprehensive about ‘chamber’ (enter into dressing/bathroom area from public hallway) but layout was inspired. Provided more room to get ready and placed me in immediate vicinity of my suitcase/stuff. Only thing I wish was that the toilette area and shower area would have been reversed so the toilet would not be right beside the bed. Location is great, too.
- 5/5
Pool club amazing
- 5/5
The Hotel team is spectacular!
- 1/5
I believe after you paying all that money the guess should have exclusive access for the pool. Virgin management need to do better or at least mention it before people book a room Thank you
- 4/5
Toilet paper holder was broken. The shades were difficult and there were some stains on the bench next to the bed.
- 4/5
Location allowed us to walk nearly everywhere we wanted. From Times Square to the Edge. Felt safe walking!
- 4/5
Gym was tight. Checkin was slow (issues processing Expedia reservations?)
- 4/5
Hotel and hotel was very nice and friendly… amenities required reservations for hotel guest
- 3/5
Our experience was however negatively influenced by the barely functioning A/C. Despite having it set at 65 for the duration of our stay the room was always too warm to be comfortable. Service was also average as we had to repeatedly ask for water bottles to be sent to our room. Only after the third time did they actually bring us one, and they were at least kind enough to not charge it. I am not sure if I would stay here again. Definitely not a five star hotel experience.
- 5/5
We usually stay a little closer to 42nd st. Location was a bit removed from the safety of other parts of midtown but the hotel was wonderful
- 3/5
4 day family trip to broadway, great location, hotel in OK condition, ridiculous rules surrounding the pool…three 3 hour sessions you have to book for, no space around the pool, kids only until 12 (no kids in pool after 12….when it’s hottest)
- 5/5
Room 2205 was absolutely stunning! One of the best terrace views of the Empire State Building. You will not be disappointed!
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable bed, kind stuff!
- 4/5
.
- 4/5
the hotel was excellent and the checxk in was smooth and the room was ready before 3:00. the bar and pool are fun and the location is good. The room is bright and comfortable. the only complaint is that the elevator key card system is difficult and frustrating
- 5/5
Small but perfectly appointed room. Great location, close to subway, 5th Ave etc.
- 5/5
I
- 5/5
The pool is really nice, but it's only available for guests without a pool reservation for 3 hours in the morning.
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
We checked in and spent hours in a room over 85 degrees. They had someone come check and let us know he would allow the front desk know so we could change rooms at 430AM they gave us another room. I was told I would get discount rate no refund was given. Highly unlikely I will stay at another.
- 5/5
I was greeted with a smile, and the check-in process was very smooth. However, there was a mix-up with my room; I had a single bed instead of a double bed since I was staying with my sister. They promptly changed my room. The restaurant and bar have a cool and relaxed atmosphere, and I would definitely go back.
- 3/5
Loved the view and size of the room, shame about the other stuff.
- 5/5
Staff was great! Especially Darnel!!!!
- 5/5
Clean, bright rooms with great views, helpful staff, nice outdoor dining lounge, pools is a nice addition though small for the size of the hotel so cannot accommodate all that would like to enjoy it. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.
- 5/5
Bathroom pocket door would not close
- 3/5
Spa access not included with the room!
- 5/5
This is my new favorite hotel
- 5/5
Amazing hotel, loved the upgrade. Nice staff
- 5/5
So happy to stay with Virgin and the view was amazing Highly recommend and we would stay here again
- 4/5
The bed was very comfortable
- 5/5
I like this hotel and been coming back. My only complain is that it’s second time the coffee does not get replace after the first night
- 4/5
Everything was fantastic except for the air conditioning being out. Room service was fantastic, spa was excellent, staff was stellar.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay!
- 3/5
Room was extremely small. There was noise of some kind of equipment throughout the night. Lights flicked on and off. I booked the property because of the swimming pool for my 20 year-old who was traveling with me. He could only use it until 11:30 AM because he was not 21. First of all they should let you know that, but 11:30 AM? Lobby seemed worn. I’ve never checked out of a hotel early, but I checked out two days early. The property needs some love and they need to be upfront about their 21 and up policy.
- 5/5
Amazing stay very clean
- 5/5
Fun hotel with beautiful view of Empire State building
- 1/5
Location was great but the hotel hosted a party Saturday evening with loud noise until 3am. I don’t think that is fair to guests who were not informed that they would be unable to sleep and enjoy their accommodations for one night. In addition, there was a separate “destination” charge per night that wasn’t revealed to me by my third party booking. There were long waits in the lobby most times if the day and they never answer the phone. Use of their rooftop pool required reservations and a minimum food/drink fee (except for Sat morning from 8-11am) I would not stay here again and cannot recommend to anyone who wants a responsive and respectful staff and hotel noise policies.
- 1/5
No AC, bad customer service
- 2/5
I check in and my air isn’t working. They can’t change my room because they’re booked so they bring me a fan. Then at check out, staff asks me how was my stay. I say not that great. His response was, “Well that’s not fault. I didn’t put you in a room with a broken AC.”
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel! It’s like walking into an art museum. Extra points for valet and hospitality! With that being said I will be returning and hopefully its for a longer stay!
- 4/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and excellent customer service
- 4/5
Staff was beyond nice, especially in the Everdine.
- 4/5
The room was a little dirty when we arrived. The service in the evening at the restaurant was horrible and the food way overpriced. I have loved my stays previously but this one missed the mark.

Easy location for sightseeing. Rooms felt quite cramped. Lifts were very annoying and keycard kept inactivating. Pool only available for guests 8-11 which it didn’t make clear on the website otherwise you had to pay and reserve a lounger

We were very satisfied

I like it but the crews are so serious and never smile sometimes I fell uncomfortable when I want to ask them for something

The Virgin is a vibe and it has outlets in the midst of the city. Beautiful trendy property with great service.

We stayed at this hotel around two weeks ago, but I must admit that we were greatly dissapointed. We checked in around 10pm which was speedy and efficient and went up to our lovely standard room. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and clean the room was and had all the amenities that you would need. We felt the room was slightly warm but cranked up the air con and went up to the rooftop bar. The ambience was lovely however the service and wine quality was shocking. Our third drink we ordered two glasses of red wine which was disgusting, so kindly asked the waitress whether we could try the white wine we had first. She obliged but came back with the white wine in two champagne glasses - with the reason being quite evident that they wanted to close. Pretty poor seeing as the wine is $30 each. When we got back to the room it was still warm. We reported the issue the next day using the virtual request app on the TV and went down to the pool. When we came back to the room, there was a random screwdriver left in the room - with the issue clearly not resolved as it was still stifling hot in there. The next day I again complained and the receptionist offered to upgrade us to a suite. Super generous offering, but she said this was only on the condition that we packed up our stuff straight away so that the porters could take it up. I told her that my boyfriend was already at our table reservations 15 minutes away but she was insistent. Just not great service.

The room was very nice, the view was exceptional. The pool area so cute. Breakfast was great. We would go back.

Limited menu. Check in was a zoo. Cleaning staff entered my room without permisson and while the privacy light was on. I am still really upset about that!

My stay was excellent. The location of the hotel put the location of most of my activities of interest within walking distance. And shout out to Carla Louis for making me and my wife’s stay memorable.

I just did a quick staycation just to get away from home for a day and this was the best decision I could’ve made. The room was amazing clean and so spacious the bed was extremely comfortable the view was great especially at night I got a good view of the Empire State Building. They had snacks and drinks stocked in the fridge. You were able to order room service right from the tv. The stay was amazing and I do plan to have another stay maybe a longer one so I can experience the rest of the hotel but it was amazing.

Not worth it! We could not even use the pool since we had our son with us. The hotel is not very clean either.
