The location was great. We could explore lower Manhattan. It was a bit older facility but it was clean and still nice.

La ubicación es excelente. Las habitaciones muy confortables.
- 1/5
The first room was dirty. Hand prints and dirt on the walls, the headboards had a greasy dark spot where everyone’s head touched it. The shower leaked all over the bathroom ever time we took a shower. We had to build a dam with towels so it didn’t go into the bedroom area. Although our stay was 4 nights, we each got one bottle of water when we checked in and none after that. There is nowhere safe to leave your luggage and they charge $50 for early check in or late check out. The only good things were the view of the Manhattan Bridge and the convenience of being right in Chinatown. So outrageously overpriced though. Never again.

Location and cleanliness The morning reception is not so accommodating
- 5/5
Very clean, front desk staff was absolutely fantastic. Location was near grand or canal subway entrances, walking distance to basically anything downtown. Excellent value for families.

However, slightly disappointed with the maintenance of the property. The bathroom sink was clogged and whole room felt dusty. I felt very itchy while living at the property.
- 4/5
A small room, but adequate. Walkable to Little Italy, SoHo, Brooklyn, Financial District. Grand Ave. Subway station a 5 minute walk. Very small lobby and only one elevator.

Price/performance. Good staff. Exceptionally clean. The location is perfect.

Location near chinatown, big room and 2 bathrooms for 6 pax. Manhattan bridge view from window. The toilet so small, not much hanger to hang towel and clothes. Luggage storage after check out only can keep until 7pm, after that charges will applied.
- 3/5
Location is good. Staff service is good. No Refrigerator or microwave oven. No Laundry service available. No kitchen available.
- 4/5
It was clean, comfortable, and in a good location. It was fairly basic but this was reflected in the price.

Great value for money! Nice and clean and a nice location also! The beds in one of the rooms were quite small.

It was good but the staff can be more friendly
- 5/5
unusual location, with great views, great place to stay on lower east / bowery if you like being "in the city". clean, sub-way accessible, good air-conditioning and heat. I would stay again.
- 4/5
This hotel was centrally located to all of the places I visited during my stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful, plus baggage storage was offered prior to check in and afterwards if you your trip departure is after check out. The only downside was there wasn't a fridge or microwave offering but overall I would definitely stay again.

Perfect location. Room was simple but met our needs. No refrigerator but that was no problem for us. Shower/hot water was great. AC was fine. Beds not the best but we certainly slept well. Staff were helpful and courteous. Some of the best food in NY in Chinatown and Little Italy. Convenient to public transportation. We loved it.
- 5/5
We’ve been staying at the Leon for over 15 years. Rooms are small but efficiently laid out with big windows and spectacular views of the Manhattan bridge. The desk closes at 10pm now and they have tea (but no coffee) in the lobby. Walking distance to several subway lines.
- 4/5
Staff were great as was the location
- 5/5
Great location near Chinatown. Easy to find. We used Uber to get places, convenient to public transportation if desired. We faced the Manhattan Bridge Arch, traffic noise wasn’t that bad. We did hear an occasional siren but you’re in the city so that should be expected. Hotel is a little dated but clean and beds comfortable. Would recommend for travelers budget conscious, great value for the money.

- 5/5
Clean, affordable room in a prime NYC location. What else do you need?
- 3/5
The Hotel is located in a Chinatown which is an Area we love. Our Hotel room was so cold. The thermostat wasnt working. Also the bathroom made such a loud noise. The bathroom was also so cold since there was a window inside the bathroom. I wish the hotel had a microwave to heat up food that we brought back. This is a drawback. The price of the room was affordable, but it lacked a few things. We were on the fourth floor and it was loud from outside nouse.Would stay again if in the area. We did feel safe so thats a plus.
- 4/5
Everything was good except there was no heater working and NYC was very cold for the first few days when I was there, in the 40s. For the first day when I was leaving, it went very warm so the last day was fine without heater.
- 4/5
Clean room, helpful staff, shops near by.
- 5/5
The view of manhatten bridge from room window
- 5/5
Room was upgraded since our last stay
- 5/5
Check in was so easy
- 4/5
My daughter and I stayed here for her 30th. For the price, it was a pretty decent hotel. I’ve never stayed in Chinatown, but we got the local vibe. This is not anything like Times Square but it was nice and quiet at night. Easy 3 min walk to the subway & 8 min walk to Little Italy. At night, the area itself is not really lit up, I felt safer taking taxis to drop us off after 10pm. Please note I’m not saying it’s not safe. The staff were super friendly and made us feel safe.
- 5/5
great stay. would recommend
- 5/5
Perfect for the price in NYC - great location
- 5/5
Great staff!
- 4/5
We booked this room based on price and the fact that it had a pull out chair sofa for a 5th person. It is a small hotel, right at the foot of Manhattan Bridge. The area is a little grittier than our typical stay, but, met our needs for this trip. We were right next to chinatown and a short walk to Little Italy. We were a couple of blocks from the Orange line and the subway to get us anywhere we needed to go. Safety wise, during the day was fine - people going about their business and lives. At night, we (50 year old woman and 3 young adults) never felt threatened, but, made sure to walk with purpose and not alone. Just be mindful of what is going on around you, which is wise anywhere. The hotel itself was no frills, but clean and the people were nice.
- 3/5
Small rooms, poor room heating system, no room service
- 5/5
Rooms were clean. Nice bedding. The 2 room suite was big and more than enough room. Constant coffee and tea in the lobby which is all you need when you have so much great food right outside the door. So convenient to subway.
- 5/5
Excellent all around and the view was outstanding! We will definitely stay at Leon Hotel again!
- 4/5
Great stay and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Conveniently located. Clean rooms. Easy check in.
- 2/5
old, bare bones amenities and in room offerings, hard pillows and soft bed.
- 1/5
I paid extra for deluxe corner room, so there would be two windows with plenty of light because my daughter is getting married today and was gonna come to the hotel to show me the dress because I couldn’t be at the wedding and it was not it was one window, one room I was very, very, very disappointed that your app said I could upgrade and that was not true. It was already booked
- 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was relatively quiet, clean, and a really great location for our first time in NYC! There’s a variety of food places around (a ton of them within a 10 min walk), easy to get everywhere as there are subway stations very close, and felt pretty safe as well. Easy check in/out too. Definitely an older hotel, so furnishings and that are a bit dated/old/damaged to a degree but nothing that really impacts the overall stay. You still have everything you need and we were really only there to sleep anyways.
- 5/5
Clean room, accommodating staff, easy check in
- 5/5
Awesome job
- 3/5
The lobby is not very welcoming, more like a motel. its all a bit tired, the plastic flowers on the hall landing onwards. The facicilties are basic, but clean. My tap leaked. Minimal toiletries.
- 5/5
The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the majority of the staff provided outstanding service. Unfortunately, our initial check-in experience was impacted by one staff member who was noticeably rude and condescending. Aside from this incident, the remaining staff consistently demonstrated professionalism and made every effort to ensure we felt welcomed throughout our stay! Additionally, we greatly appreciated the beautiful view from our room!
- 4/5
Everything was good. Hard to get to
- 5/5
Room was spacious with a view of the Manhattan Bridge, close to subway stations.
- 4/5
They’re very nice location very kind. People attended the room. They’re very clean.
- 4/5
Location excellent, which was the reason why we chose this hotel. Reception - both staff, appearance and state were below expectation. Tea station right by the lift and drinks vending machine gave it a hostel feel. Front desk staff barely acknowledged you when you walked past, we shared a lift with one and he couldn't even manage a good morning greeting. We needed to leave our luggage for the day as we had a late flight and he made it sound like such a big deal! Small bathroom but facilities in the room were generally functional. Overall- expensive for what it offered and the photos were not reflective of the reality
- 4/5
Clean room, quiet, and staff were friendly. The hotel provides water bottles on first day, slippers, and has an in room safe. There is no refrigerator or microwave and the room was freezing at night. So ask for extra blanket before 5 PM. The heater was not on for the building yet for the winter.
- 4/5
Around 3 blocks aroud you can find a lot of restaurants, but by 8:00pm most of the places are closed
- 4/5
The hotel was cool! It's in a populated area full of restaurants and cool little shops so if people want to just walk around and explore it's perfect spot! Rooms were always clean and the staff was pretty cool. It's good place if you just need somewhere sleep and relax before exploring New York. The only downfall was no microwave and no fridge lol but there snacks and water machines so we managed. Honestly, I would stay here again. Thank you!
- 5/5
Close to public transportation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value and location
- 4/5
Room and lobby are a lot smaller than expected. Water and ice machine were broken.
- 5/5
Thank you for a great stay!
- 4/5
Staff are nice and kind. Lots of good eating places nearby. Walkable to subways.
- 4/5
We’ve stayed here multiple times and will again.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Great room, comfortable, spacious and clean. The front desk staff was quite friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
I would stay there again ..
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
So clean! Really close to key areas like china town and soho
- 5/5
Clean room. Helpful staff. Walkable and close to everything. Great food around the area.
- 4/5
Very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us with an early check-in, luggage storage and arranged an airport transfer. Good location for exploring Manhattan and Brooklyn. Beautiful views of the bridge. Our kids loved the big window seat. We loved all the great places to eat in Chinatown.
- 5/5
Staff kind and accommodating. Room spacious and quiet. Will stay again. Thank you!
- 5/5
The areas is close to many cool cafes and restaurants. The room was clean and pretty quiet, with a nice view of traffic coming down off the Manhattan Bridge, as well as all the colorful people walking below. Would 10/10recommend as a reasonably priced home base on your next NYC trip, especially if you love the Lower East Side as much as I do.
- 5/5
The Leon has been my go to for years now. For the price, it simply can't be topped. I stopped even looking. I have to arrange my trips around room availability now because I won't stay anywhere else.
- 1/5
No where on this site did it say I had to pay $150 deposit. It just said a $35 service fee but when I got there they already started the check in process which took the $187 payment for the room and because that deposit was not in my budget I couldn’t check in. Ended up driving back home and talking to customer service and apparently the room I booked was non refundable which when I booked the room it didn’t say that either. I really need hotels.com to put everything the hotel is going to need on site because now I’m out almost $200.
- 5/5
I love my spacious room, and so convenient to go anywhere we want. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional
- 5/5
The staff was very pleasant. The check-in process was smooth. The went the extra time to check if our room was clean for an early check-in. We were abls.to change and leave our bags to start our day. The room & bathroom were clean. Front staff was pleasant at check-out as well.
- 5/5
Great view love the staff very friendly people
- 5/5
The property was well worth the price and location
- 4/5
however there are more beter hotel located nearby. unsafe people(kind of people with mental issue, uses drugs etc) lurks around, almost did not feel safe going out at night. 30 to 35min walk around blecker, cornelia st.great neighborhood, the feel of true new york. 10min walk to canal street subway station to midtown room is clean we had a great view manhattan arch or something.
- 5/5
This hotel was clean and quiet and walking distance from many main streets. Customer service was the best. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. I will be coming back.
- 5/5
The property had big windows and spacious rooms .
- 1/5
Staff not paying attention for our needs , added extra charges
- 5/5
Property was clean and quiet very close to multiple subway stations and lots of surrounding dining options.
- 4/5
There were some parts of the room that were a little shabby like a blemish on the wall from damage that was not painted over and the bathroom had peeling paint. However, the beds were comfortable and the rainfall shower head was relaxing. Plenty of coffee, soap and toiletries. Hot water and additional coffee available at the lobby. The staff at the front desk were efficient and helpful. They also allowed us to keep our baggage in the lobby until we returned later in the afternoon after our event. Would stay here again if we need to be in the Chinatown area. We were actually on a roadtrip East so this was a perfect location that was close to the parking garage, our event venue and a direct route to the Holland Tunnel to continue our trip.
- 5/5
The room was clean and nice. AC kept it cool and comfortable. Close to the Grand St station which made it a lot easier to get around.
- 5/5
It was absolutely amazing! The room was very nice and the views were spectacular!! The receptionist was also truly amazing! 1000/10 would recommend and will definitely be returning 😊
- 5/5
staff was super friendly and made me feel safe!
- 5/5
This is my 2nd stay and I absolutely loved it. The venue was clean, the staff was very friendly, the room was quiet and overall amazing. The best feature would have to be the window and view. The stay was nothing short of enjoyable.
- 5/5
Great place and just 5 minutes from little Italy and Chinatown. Friendly staff. Clean. Great value
- 1/5
Awful. Not the nicest area and hotel itself is the bare minimum one would expect - definitely not staying here again. Rooms are tiny with no view, reception area is horrible, and zero amenities. Had police in reception area one day.
- 5/5
Good value and good location
- 3/5
The property is conveniently located, bathroom and bedding nice. The carpet is worn. The elevator was out of service on day we checked out so had to carry luggage down 5 flights of stairs as hotel made no accommodations. Also, TV didn’t work and night manager said no one on duty to address the TV issue. I had to beg to get batteries to see if this was the issue. It was not. Lobby very small
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 5/5
The property was very clean and the room I shared had an amazing view. Very much satisfied with my stay.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing room was nice and comfortable
- 5/5
Can’t beat the location for the price, close to 4 subway lines, and the entire Lower East Side is a walkable from there including the Brooklyn Bridge
- 5/5
The Leon hotels was a very small and cute hotel that provided a very comfortable & cleanliness room/ stay for my family of 4. We stayed here for 8 nights and LOVED everything about this hotel, it felt like home . Did I mention the great views this hotel had .
- 5/5

- 5/5
Very nice hotel, highly recommend
- 5/5
Very clean room.
- 2/5
The room was cold the whole stay. Told guest services an they did nothing about it. The heat was not working. The television remote control had to change the batteries twice for it to work. Other then that the bed was comfy.

Hotel alone was clean. Staff was nice but not so helpful. TV did not work. I tried to reach out to front desk put on hold and was told you’d call back never called back window was open and would not lock made me feel very unsafe slept with the light on all night Left the hotel earlier than I expected.
- 3/5
Staff was nice but there were a few issues. The ac/heat in the room didnt work consistently. Headboards were dirty, phone was broken and the toilet was clogged upon arrival. When we called staff they gave us a plunger to sort out their plumbing issue which seemed odd but worked out in the
- 4/5
Can’t believe I paid so much for a hotel just for it to have a broken elevator… in Manhattan.
- 5/5
Hotel was really clean and front staff was friendly. The area is a bit isolated and feels a bit unsafe. The view is amazing
- 5/5
A delightful stay with an extraordinary staff!
- 5/5
Nice place for the family. Good size room and friendly staff.
- 1/5
This hotel was not as advertised - felt VERY Motel 6. Dicey area, old and outdated, and noisy at all times of the night. Absolutely not a 3.5 star hotel
- 5/5
Great hotel, wonderful staff and service!
- 4/5
I felt like the cleaning lady forget to clean the toilet ring.
- 4/5
We had a great view of Brooklyn Bridge. But the neighborhood was scary. The room was good but we had an electric heater in it to warm the room. Not sure I would stay here again. The front desk was helpful.
- 5/5
The rainfall shower was a nice elegant element
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean modern room. 4 free bottles of water every day. Our departure flight was at 7pm, we were able to leave luggage at the front desk and enjoyed the city for extra few hours.
- 5/5
A very lovely hotel and super comfortable beds. Very clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
- 3/5
The staff was great. It was a very small hotel and room. It is New York. But maybe a little more attention to details and offerings for guest staying there.
- 5/5
Friendly and professional staff. Great location. Clean and modern. Would absolutely stay here again!
- 5/5
It was surprisingly very enjoyable. The rooms were very spacious and had a large desk and refrigerator. It was very pleased with everything at the hotel. The view of an arch across the road was amazing!
- 5/5
Very nice
- 4/5
We had a very good stay at the Leon Hotel in Chinatown. Going in I was not expecting much, but the hotel delivered a well-rounded, safe and convenient stay. Staff was excellent, accommodating and professional. Our room was quiet and spacious.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and well maintained considering the age of the facilities, just the usb outlets were not working. It is not modern but well equipped and with a nice city view. Reception staff were friendly, check in and checkout a breeze. Elevator is slow so o used the stairs during my stay after leaving my suitcase in my room. There were some people under the influence asking for money in the street but that is NY for you.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 3/5
Very nice to spend one or two nights.
- 3/5
Extremely small rooms
- 5/5
The Leon Hotel is my hotel of choice in NYC. The location, views, staff and neighborhood are all excellent.
- 5/5
Excellent room with and amazing view. !!
- 3/5
This property was advertised as being located in Greenwich Village, but that was not the case. It is actually positioned on the tip of Chinatown. Also misleading was that refrigerators were included in the amenities. After checking in and finding the refrigerator cubbie empty I was informed that I could rent it at an additional cost per night. On top of that, I was charged a destination fee for the two-night stay. Unbelievable! I could have booked somewhere much nicer for the price I paid. I will never book at this hotel or through Expedia for another stay again.
- 5/5
Convenient to chinatown- like any hotel in New York City, convenient to all the attractions of the city, including Pennsylvania station
- 5/5
Great staff, helpful.
- 3/5
The hotel did not offer room service or a store to purchase forgotten necessities. Once I got to my floor. I wasn’t as worried because it looked more like a hotel. The room was nice with a great view, had there been anything to view. The view of the bridge isn’t as breathtaking as one might believe and there were some homeless people across from the hotel. The sunrise, however, was amazing if you’re into that sort of thing. The only thing wrong with the room was the shower. It wouldn’t get hot and have a good pressure at the same time. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. So overall it a good stay
- 5/5
Clean and centrally located in Chinatown close to subway stations and shopping. Friendly staff. I really enjoyed my stay here.
- 5/5
Muy buen servicio.
- 4/5
I know the price I got won't last forever, but at the price I paid, it was well worth it.
- 5/5
This hotel was absolutely amazing! Nice, clean and great staff. Very safe area! There were times when we explored the city until 10 or 11 at night.. walking back with no issues. Hotel in Chinatown, walking distance to little Italy, subway, food, Starbucks.. and much more. Great place for the money!
- 1/5
We arrived around 2:30pm, the reptionist was nice, she was welcoming and accomodating. We got the suite and headed to our room. The door inside our suite that separates the private room from the other 2 rooms would not close and has about 4 inches wide of a gap. Towards the end of the night when we got back from the hotel, we requested for extra soap and shampoo, there were 6 of us for that room and only had 1 thin soap, 1 small shampoo, and 1 small lotion and 4 towels. The male receptionist was not helpful, he asked us to come down and get the amenities ourselves. We also requested for extra towels and pillows and was told that we had to wait for tomorrow to get extra towels and pillows as their laundry room is closed and they didnt have keys to open it. I told them, we would not need them for tomorrow since we are checking out then. We wouldn't have not mind the lackness of this hotel but the male asian receptionist was rude and unaccomodating. I would not go back to this place if this contonued to be run this way. (Note: i am asian myself)
- 5/5
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was much larger than we thought it would be and everything was super clean and orderly. The location was also great and was near a lot of places and restaurants we wanted to visit in Chinatown. The front house staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Casey. This is a hotel that I would definitely recommend!
- 5/5
The room was clean and surprisingly spacious. The view of the Manhattan bridge was lovely and I didn't hear any of the traffic outside. The front desk lady was super nice and took excellent care of my luggage after I checked out. The hotel is 2 blocks from a main subway, so I conveniently got around the city and Brooklyn. I thought the neighbourhood was very safe, full of people in the park or going to chinatowns markets.
- 5/5
Always my go-to in NYC. I love the location, and over the years, I have come to appreciate the consistency of the cleanliness and friendliness of the desk staff.
- 4/5
This hotel has received terrible reviews. My spouse and I normally stay in high end hotels. This trip to NYC, I was looking for a more cost reasonable hotel and selected this one. My wife was very skeptical. We were both pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, neat and worked well. The room did not have a seating space other then the bed which my wife did t appreciate but worked for me. It was basic but fine. I recommend it.
- 5/5
Location
- 2/5
Our room was on the 3rd floor and it looks nothing like in the pictures on the website or far beyond what we'd had expected. The furnitures and fixture are so outdated (70's). There were also two waist high trash cans next to (right outside) our door with nobody/staff in sight. I'm just disappointed with the room.
- 5/5
Very clean and the staff are friendly
- 5/5
Great view of the Manhattan Bridge and The Freedom Tower from our room. Easy stroll to Chinatown and Little Italy.
- 5/5
good stay would stay again
- 5/5
Really loved this place and it was very affordable
- 4/5
Hotel has only one elevator, no gym, room provided a small bar soap, a small tube of shampoo and lotion, no body wash nor conditioner provided. a fire alarm right above the bed blinks constantly (not a problem if u r very tired).
- 3/5
The furniture in the room was dinged. The shower handle was difficult to moderate temperature. The worst part- the room was 81 degrees and never cooled down even with the AC on. The front desk did supply a fan.
- 4/5
Love Leon Hotel LES! the staff are great and the location can't be beat for LES, East Village walking around, subways, cabs, etc. Right at the base of the Manhattan Bridge. I like that there is a park across the street to calm the bustle of everything else around. Lasty, I love the window seats, and the fact that the windows still open. Nothing like fresh air! There are no real amenities, but the staff will help you make sure you get to everything you need nearby.
- 5/5
It’s hard to find a room that works for 2 adults and 2 teens but this layout was great! The hotel was also really quiet which is surprising right on Canal St. Good food options around too!
- 4/5
Excellent hotel and price.
- 4/5
Easy check-in. Room size was good for NYC.
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Beautiful views on the higher floors, fantastic location
- 5/5
Very nice place
- 4/5
good hotel and rooms
- 4/5
The property was alot older in real life - both the lobby and the rooms. Aside that, it was a comfortable stay. Great location.
- 5/5
Despite a noisy neighborhood, room was super quiet. Really comfy bed, and pretty large for a Manhattan hotel room!
- 3/5
Unfriendly staff. Unsafe location. Overpriced.
- 5/5
This was my second time staying at Leon Hotel, I loved the beautiful view of the Manhattan bridge. Perfect for pictures from your hotel window. Conveniently located, a couple of blocks from central China town, little Italy, and a 20-minute walk to the Financial District. The beds are comfy and the room is clean.
