The hotel is praised for its excellent location, cleanliness, and comfortable rooms. The staff is generally described as friendly and helpful, although some reviews mention inconsistent service. Some guests have issues with room size, noise, and amenities.

1st time staying here. Upgraded to a junior suite and loved the extra space. Gym isnt fully equipped but decent with plenty of space. Friendly staff too. Best blackout shades. They are designed, so no light gets around the sides. Definitely recommend.

Location, cleaness and breakfast The view, probably a room with a view would be perfect
- 4.5/5
New clean excellent location, good soundproofing Breakfast is modest, no spa.
- 1/5
The only good thing about the hotel is its location The rooms did not remotely resemble the pictures on booking.com they were completely outdated, walls had weird stains on them, the corridor always had a weird smell to it. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing ever, the room never felt clean, the AC would make a weird noise when turned on
- 4/5
Clean, loved the breakfast I first discovered the piano and when i was playing it, the staff who passed by didn’t say anything. Instead he said how he likes it and we had a such great conversation. When i was playing it the next day, that one staff came up to me and told me not to play it. I would understand if he asked it in a nice way but it was commanding. (If i wasn’t supposed to play it, i believe the first staff would have been aware of that). And the fact that things such as toothbrush and toothpaste are not provided when i paid a price like that, raised my brows. I understand that it is in nyc, which everything (esp hotels) is expensive, but i think the things i mentioned earlier should be provided.

Location and quiet room, loved the Italian restaurant and bar Serafina at the bottom of the hotel. In addition, there was a hotel bar! My middle school daughter and I stayed here and it felt very safe and was comfortable. We were able to walk to several restaurants within a 5-minute walk and felt completely safe. I would definitely book here again. I didn’t like customer service when I needed answers, I didn’t get any. This mainly had to do with after booking and before arrival. I repeatedly asked for parking information and never did receive an answer or help, which turned out to be a nightmare for someone driving into the city finding parking. It would have helped make it less stressful if this information was provided ahead of time. I was also disappointed in the bed size. I had been given an option to choose either a queen or king after booking. After choosing a king, I was given a full sized bed! For the price, it was disappointing, especially when promised either a queen or king.

Location is good Absolutely poor hygiene and cleanliness. Reviews were either paid for or a lie and will never stay here again
- 5/5
The hotel is located in a safe area. The property was very clean. The breakfast at Serafina was delicious. The airport transfer was very convenient and dependable. The driver was very safe. The staff was very hospitable and bent over backwards to make your stay as pleasing as possible.

The woman at check in (Christina?) was very kind and went out of her way to help. The room was spacious. The towels were amazing! The room wasn’t cleaned very well: there was an apple in the floor and food wrappers on the heating vent. Some of the staff were not very friendly, verging on rude.
- 4/5
While the breakfast was good there was some confusion as to whether we could charge it to our room which seem odd. Also the facility charges seem to cover things like toiletries which I would consider standard for a hotel such as this.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and dinner and breakfast at Serafina was wonderful as well. Highly recommended by father AND son!
- 4/5
Location. Quiet and secure rooms. Beautiful lobby. Sarafinis was exceptional! On check out we had to hear a rather large and ongoing heated argument amongst the staff. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Room service was poor also. Paper cups in the room was surprising. At that price I was expecting real cups, saucers and drinking glasses. Real spoons, etc.
- 5/5
The room was a great size and the shower was very nice… I loved the location, the decor, the vibe! You always saw staff walking around and they were all so helpful. This is now my go-to hotel whenever I am in NY!

The staff were all incredibly friendly, rooms were always clean when we came back to it after a day of exploring the city! The breakfast buffet was also really good with loads of options! Would definitely recommend as it is also in a really good location with nearby sights to see!

What I loved about this hotels; Cleanness, cappuccinos machine in a room, bottle of water replenished daily and location of between Park and Madison.its super convenient and very quiet. Felt very safe walking from Grand central or Times Square area, without crowds.
- 5/5
We went for a very short trip, so did not have the time to use the hotel amenities. The location was excellent, very close to grand central and easy access to other areas, the room was beautiful, comfortable and clean, the staff were very friendly, would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The staff was so nice and helpful!
- 4.5/5
The view was small but mighty from my room this stay. The pillows are way to soft for me as i prefer a firmer pillow and they do not have a selection.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here. It felt safe, great location, staff were very nice and very helpful. The rooms were clean. I noticed that I wasn’t able to hear the city honking or sirens through the night like previous hotels I’ve stayed at in the City.
- 5/5
This was my first time staying at the NH. Only there for 2 nights, but Nora at check-in was great. Clean room, comfortable bed, remote shades, did I say clean room? :)
- 5/5
I have stayed at this hotel chain in Frankfurt and Nuremberg. This hotel was excellent. The rrom was spacious, clean and inviting. The staff was exceptional. The hotel was within easy walking distance to attractions, the Theater District and restaurants. We will book here again and again.
- 5/5
Very impressed with hotel. Many amenities like water in room and complementary bottle of wine. Serafina restaurant conveniently located below hotel.
- 5/5
Fantastic location at a fair price. We booked a superior room and found there was plenty of space. Location is amazing. There is a bus stop right there to take you down Madison to Museum Row ($3) and you can walk one block to 5th for a bus to Battery Island. Front desk and staff were helpful and not too pushy for tips. We were able to leave bags after checkout as we had a late flight. Getting there from JFK for the budget traveler was easy. Airtran to Jamaica Station ($8.75/pp) and then Long Island Railroad to Grand Central ($5.75/pp). Took about 40 mins. Then walk 4 blocks from 42nd to 38th which was not too tricky.
- 4/5
The hotel is in a good location. The staff is not overly friendly, but that’s also how people in NYC are. The rooms are very small which is also typical of NYC. Great hot water pressure in the shower. I just wish the bathroom had a fan. I would give this place 7.5/10.
- 5/5
Staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and comfortable
- 5/5
The location is really convenient, the staff is helpful and nice. I will definitely come back and loved it ! Nothing I didn’t like
- 4.5/5
A beautiful hotel, exceptional service. Wonderful atmosphere, and very comfortable. My tv had to be rest by maintenence took time out of my day. The lighting in the bathroom could be better there is a dark area over the toilet closer to the makeup mirror no lighting over that spot. Overall exceptional hotel and service. They will do whatever it takes to make things perfect.
- 5/5
Yes. Everyone was very pleasant
- 5/5
The hospitality was exceptional. Hotel staff was kind and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend choosing this hotel over any other in the area. We will be back very soon!!
- 4.5/5
Breakfast was beyond adequate. Nice selection. Plenty of options for everyone. They called a cab for me when I needed and answered questions about transportation and where to grab a coffee. There was a dirty washcloth and strands of long dark hair in my bathroom. But it was a holiday weekend( Valentines Day, school vacation) so I just cleaned it up myself. The staff was working very hard to turn rooms and it wasn’t a big deal. Everything else was so awesome, it really didn’t matter.
- 1.5/5
Too small Twin beds??? Are we children? I haven’t slept in a twin bed in ages. That shouldn’t even be an option
- 5/5
We were able to walk to Times Square quickly and safely. It was a great location with still some calmness.
- 3/5
Rooms were super small even for an NYC hotel room. Room was listed “view”however, the view meant it had a window and not much to see outside. Sirens were non stop, wish it was a little quieter.
- 4.5/5
Big rooms for nyc great lounge and bar with music Perfect level hotel for price All was nice and i would come again
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay and Kiara at reception made my check in super fast and efficiently . I felt really welcome to the hotel it was my first time there and for sure I will be back. The bed is great I slept very well . See you soon
- 3/5
The hotel location is good and a nice lobby. However the Rooms are tiny and awkward . The whole bed, mattress & pillows was awful. The room they assigned us TV was on the side wall adjacent to the bed no way to watch. We asked for another room which they did give us. Once again horrible rooms.
- 4.5/5
The crew is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great hotel !Great location
- 3/5
$40 facility fee was totally unnecessary. Expedia told me to ask for some kind of vip thing at check in and the hotel staff just shrugged their shoulders. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 4.5/5
Location is amazing and the staff was very friendly. They gave us free and cute little upgrades since we mentioned it was our anniversary, which was unexpected but extremely appreciated. The view from our room was a nice added touch as well.
- 5/5
The staff was phenomenal. No details were missed. Made us feel like our stay was as important to them as it was to us. Room was decorated so cool. Slippers/robes, candy and water in our room. Comfortable bed. Rain shower! Will definitely be back!!! Not one thing
- 5/5
Clean room / friendly staff / good location
- 3.5/5
Bed type wasn’t known to hotel and we had to wait for this to be sorted. Staff were great and we showed them confirmation of request. It seems as though it didn’t reach the hotel.
- 5/5
It was the perfect location for December!! The staff was outstanding. The room was delightful!
- 3/5
Although the location and rooms in this hotel are great, I do think that for this price you can find something better. The promised perk (a bottle of wine) was forgotten at check-in, and the bar area—advertised as having live jazz from 7 to 9 pm—was instead taken over by a corporate event or holiday party, blocking the space for hotel guests. Also, don’t add the breakfast option if it costs extra. I didn’t realise that the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant and instead partners with the place next door, which has a very mediocre selection and not particularly polite staff. You can easily find a much better breakfast for less, as NYC offers plenty of great food options.
- 2.5/5
The staff were very helpful. The receptionists and the bell men . They were great . I booked premium rooms but I got very very small room twin room ! The other room I booked king room but they offered me at check in queen room!! Telling that is what available! Of course I refused then they managed to fix one room although it was still small for a premium.

Such a beautiful hotel. The Christmas decoration at the hotel made this trip feel so festive for us would definitely be returning to this stay in future trips. The hotel staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and you can tell the hotel has been taking care of the facility very well. Would recommend this stay to everyone
- 5/5
The room cleanliness is impeccable, the breakfast is of high quality, and the location of the property is exceptional. A big thank you for making my daughter’s 18th birthday trip such a special and unforgettable experience. A real success! S.Ambrosio
- 5/5
Would recommend.
- 5/5
Very nice place and view
- 4/5
everything was perfect - especially bellhop/valet Aaron's cheerful, friendly and prompt help with my car and bags as well as the team at the Front Desk - but I did find that the bathroom in my room wasn't very well-designed: the little sink-bowl filled up and didn't drain and I splashed around it constantly washing my face, the shower water temperature was warm not hot (until I told someone and they came to fix it, but I'd already taken two lukewarm showers) and the shower water splashed outside the shower onto the floor because the glass divider wasn't long enough
- 5/5
The rooms are spotless, and the bar and restaurant are fantastic. The buffet breakfast in the mornings is absolutely amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, and NH Collection will always be our go-to place whenever we visit New York. A huge thank-you to all the staff for being so kind and making our stay unforgettable once again!
- 3/5
• Location • Friendly and helpful front desk staff • Stayed for 8 nights and everyone was pleasant and hospitable. • Special mention for Erik and the other bellman. • Lots of meeting spaces in the back (desks for work, eating, hanging out). • Car service (Suburban) to/from LGA for $75. • Nice robes. Cons: • Value: Felt "robbed" for nearly $600 a night. • The room was tiny; only room to walk around the bed, even in a "premium city view room." • No counter/storage space in the bathroom. • Would not stay here again mainly because of the beds. • Bed and bedding were absolutely unacceptable for the price. • Featured a cheap spring mattress that was "dented" towards the middle, causing guests to inevitably roll together. • Only two flimsy pillows. • Left with a sore neck after an 8-night stay. • Service/Housekeeping Issues (Lack of Attention to Detail): • Had at least one issue each day. • Problems with the TV and remote. • Robes were taken away but not replaced. • Only one set of 2 bath towels. • A coffee cup with a piece of gum stuck to it upon check-in. • Empty body wash container on day 3. • An empty shampoo container the very next day (day 4). • Bogus BS resort fee. Conclusion: • The lack of attention to details is obvious. • Better options are available, especially if the rates here are over $350.

My go to place in Manhattan Midtown. I've stayed there over 5 times now and I'll go again and again. Very cool boutique vibe, very friendly staff, spotless rooms, nice Serafina restaurant. Always a lovely experience!

This is my favorite hotel in New York City. I’ve been here so many times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always nice. My experience with this hotel has been great, even outside the United States. I’ve stayed with them in Italy and Germany, and the customer service is top-tier, which is why I always return to them.

Won’t stay here again, I am a VIP for Hotels and never received what I was owed. The check in process is very clunky. Nothing like the NH’s in Europe
- 5/5
Located close to the Morgan Library and Museum and an easy walk from Grand Central Station. The room was clean and everything seemed new. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The staff was friendly. Rooms are small, which is common in NYC.They have an annoying $40 a day "Destination Fee" which they state is to cover things like wi-fi and ability to check your luggage before and after your stay that you would expect to be included and a piano player that is not even there on weekends when we stayed. They provide a "free" bottle of wine.

- 5/5

- 5/5
Staff was super friendly Upgraded my room for minimal charge I suggest better pillows-too soft for my taste TV remote was challenging to use at times & had to get hotel staff to reprogram it
- 4/5
Bathroom very small so not much room for amenities
- 4/5
I like the seating area in the lobby, the Leche mocktails at the bar and the central location of the hotel was awesome. We enjoyed our NY trip.
- 5/5
Someone from the staff opened the door for me upon arrival, I received a bottle of wine, and my room was ready early. Everyone on staff was extremely helpful with recommendations and directions. I had a great stay and enjoyed the VIP treatment!
- 4/5
The hotel is nice and has a great service but I wish they have more comfortable mattress and pillows (one was too small and soft, the other too big and hard). I may stay at this hotel next time if I bring my own pillow
- 3/5
For how nice this hotel was supposed to be, we were very disappointed. The service was very bad from the start. Out the gate, they got us confused with another guest and tried telling us our stay was not for the days we booked. Then, because of our Hotels.com status, we got a free bottle of wine. However, they forgot to give us a bottle opener and never brought one to us despite a call we made where they promised to do so. Our room was also never serviced by the maids, despite a call to the front desk where they promised to do so. The room itself was fine, but small (which is not unusual for NYC). The room had amazing black out shades, as promised. However, the room was not really soundproof as claimed and we woke up multiple times due to noise. Aside from the service complaints, the hotel itself is probably a high end 3/5 hotel. I do not agree with the ratings that rate it much higher.
- 5/5
It was a beautiful hotel. The staff was amazingly accommodating and super friendly with my son. They were very helpful, friendly and kind. It was a wonderful stay
- 5/5
I was impressed by the level of hospitality. The rooms are modern.
- 5/5
The staff at the hotel were lovely and very helpful, especially Christina on the front desk. A good location and good sized room, just the usual US problem of not being able to make a decent Gin & Tonic as the tonic comes out of the “gun”

- 3/5
The staff were great and the bar area was cozy and our room was clean and comfy.
- 2/5
I was supposed to receive a bottle of wine, I did not get it. I did not have hot water for most of my stay and the water in my room was brown so I could not brush my teeth or shower. I asked to be switched to another room and the only room they offered was half the size and they did not offer any compensations for this.
- 5/5
The hotel was within 10-15 min walking distance to the places I wanted to go to. The staff were friendly, lobby was a beautiful & spacious with huge sofas and tables with charing outlets and a bar. Had a room upgrade with a comfortable pullout sofa bed perfect for my son. Family friendly hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the NH Collection hotel. Staff were very friendly, welcoming , and helpful. Conseula (I think that’s her name) at the front desk was amazing! The room was clean and quiet. Location was very close to Bryant Park and subway stations. Would stay here again!

The hotel was in a fantastic location and the lobby/bar area was gorgeous. But when you got up to the rooms that all went down hill. The hallways always had laundry and cleaning supplies in them smelling strongly of chlorine. The rooms, while eco friendly are freezing in the winter - your room key controls leaving the heat on so if you leave your room and come back it’s an ice box.

-I pre-paid for this stay and even then Expedia usually shows you the amount (if any) that a hotel will charge on site (fees, taxes, etc that weren't precharged). Upon arrival I learned that the hotel would be taking $40 per night for their "resort" fee which is just a sorry excuse for extra intake (no real resort amenities here, they list "benefits" but it's what's advertised to already be included in the stay, like the coffee maker and tea). Upon inspection I found this fee in the very tiny print on the bottom of the listing. Feels a bit deliberate and scheming on my end. $40 doesn't seem like a lot but when you stay 4 nights that's $160. If you're on a budget that could make a difference. Take that how you will. It's especially problematic to me just because it was hidden, especially at the already insane cost of this hotel during the holiday season. -one of the reasons I picked this property was because of it's VIP access designation (which means there is a possibility of a room upgrade). Upon arrival I was told that the upgrade isn't really ever possible as they have very very few rooms that "qualify" to be upgraded into and that doesn't include any of the suites.

The property was just beautiful, clean and in a perfect location to walk to everything the staff were very accommodating and always greeting everybody with a smile. A special kudos to Frederick, the hotel manager he was absolutely amazing thank you!

Nice gem close to everything but seems like worlds away from the crowds.

While the hotel itself was fine- the experience was not. Room was missing hand towels (asked for and didn't get and had to retrieve myself off the cart left in the hall), and empty shampoo and conditioner bottles. Clearly the room cleaning service had not done their job. Room was difficult to control temp (had to open windows or turn off heat as it overheated). Worst was behavior from another guest in the lobby. A couple was allowing their children to run wild in the lobby (racing, yelling, etc). staff did nothing.

Great hotel and nicely situated between Rockerfeller Place to the north and Empire State building to the south. Quite neighbourhood one block off 5th avenue.

Nice place

Check in staff was not very pleasant. Room was very small with no view. No VIP upgrade or welcome gift.

Hotel was beautiful. Staff was fantastic! Our bathroom was ridiculously small. It was very hard to get in and out of the shower of how small the space was. You had to rotate with the door to be able to open and close. Otherwise everything was great.

Smell room but good view- limited amenities and not refreshed as often as needed . Ran out of coffee and creamer twice . No VIP wine as promised

Service is not good. It takes several hours to have something brought to the room.

In NY for business, and primarily chose the NH due to the proximity of my work needs. However, it is now likely the ONLY place I'd stay if in Midtown, and have already recommended to several others traveling to the area. The cozy room was just the right size for a solo traveler, all staff I interacted with was gracious and helpful. I do not make it to the east coast often, but am hoping to return soon, just to stay at this little gem of a place.

Very friendly staff at check-in. Felt welcoming. Appreciated the welcome wine gift. Had a great stay overall. Loved that it is close to everything. There was no conditioner in the shower . Should be checked before getting room ready.

Loved Nora and housekeeping. Will say, the bar could stay open longer and some room services would be amazing.

It was great! Staff was so nice

Pretty pricey considering our room was insanely tiny and looked out into a dungeon.

Nice new find in midtown. Gorgeous lobby. A little strongly scented for my liking. A bit on the expensive side, but competitive.

Really nice property, very pretty, will stay again. Only downside is how small the room was.

The staff were nice and the room was very clean

This property was upscale and clean. Rooms were fairly large by Manhattan standards. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The area is quieter than other areas of Midtown. Our room had a sliding frosted glass barn door for the bathroom which is not ideal for privacy though the bathroom itself had a large tub which was nice. The air conditioner struggled to maintain temperatures below 70 even though it was set to the minimum of 68. The hotel is not super close to major subway connections but a couple lines are walkable within 5 to 10 minutes. In summary, a very good hotel with a few small low impact issues.

Hotel was very quiet; short walk to Grand Central.

Hotel was excellent. Room was far above expectations, great location, and awesome staff. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was nice and clean, but it wasn’t ready at 3 for their check in time.

The location is perfect for all destinations in tri state - Long Island city , Brooklyn , all other parts of city. The rooms are small, but clean and chic, they give a NYC high end tiny apartment vibe. The staff members who changed daily were all amazing, helpful and cool. Do plan to return.
